WIN METHOD --- WINTER BREAK --- HOT STOVE --- HEADED TO 2023 SEASON

The 2022 season is over. Another solid winning season making the playoffs. Sadly another season of getting knocked out of the playoffs and not making the World Series. A good season, yes, to make the playoffs, but not good enough to make the World Series.

The hot stove has been hot and is burning strong. Many big names have changed uniforms so far. The YANKEES re-signed free agent Aaron Judge and signed a top of the rotation starter in free agent Carlos Rodon.

As I told all the WIN METHOD fans in my July 5, 2022 blogpost, Aaron Judge was not going to sign with any other team but the YANKEES. Attaining Rodon is a fine upgrade to the starting rotation.  With the addition of Rodon, the rotation is more balanced with three right handed starters and two left handed starters. Cole, Cortes, Rodon, Louie Louie, and Montas.

With Benintendi lost to free agency there is an opening in left field, I would think and hope the YANKEES will give Oswaldo Cabrera every chance to earn and then hold the left field position. Then there is the infield to deal with. First base as of now is the only infield position set in stone. Anthony Rizzo has first base locked up. There may or may not be a deal coming this winter to help decide the infield spots at second base, third base, and shortstop. But the YANKEES have an abundance of bodies in LeMahieu, Torres, Peraza, Kiner-Falefa, Donaldson, and possible even Volpe to fill the three positions. How things shake out during the winter break and then spring training will eventually tell the story.

The bullpen has many arms and should be no issue throughout the 2023 season, There are a couple of youngsters in the minors who are still developing and who knows just when the light bulb goes off for them and they are ready to make an impact at the major league level.

At the catcher position. Personally, I am looking forward to seeing what left handed hitting catcher Ben Rortvedt will bring to the team. Rortvedt may provide a big surprise. I would  think the YANKEES will not carry three catchers and either Trevino or Higashioka will be gone.

In the minor leagues the YANKEES have a bunch of  fine looking youngsters at all positions, as WIN METHOD as they can be, how they bloom and grow over time will determine their ultimate value.

WIN METHOD fans, I can't say this often enough. You are the smartest and most knowledgeable baseball fans in the world. You make fans at all the other blogs, sites, forums, or whatever look silly. You all, have made the WIN METHOD blog the number one go to site for YANKEE baseball talk and information, You fans are positive, uplifting, and use common sense. All of you KNOW baseball. Around February 2023, this blog will attain one billion five hundred million views, 1,500,000,000. Thank you all, you truly are the greatest YANKEE fans in the world.

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY HOLIDAYS, to each and every one of you wherever you are across this planet. I still get amazed when I look and see the hundreds of countries all of the viewers of the WIN METHOD blog come from. Everyone, have a happy and healthy new year. Lets win a World Series. LETS GO YANKEES.

Volpe 2 run Ballantyne blast in sixth inning for a 3-1 Yankee lead, as I type, Higashioka follows with a Ballantyne blast for a 4-1 lead.

Torres the butcher with another costly error giving the Cubs 3 unearned runs in 7th inning tying the score at 4.

German leaves game leading 4-1 giving up one hit, a solo home run, and loses a win because of Torres making a three run error. I can't stand him and his arrogant attitude.

The Yankees do need to replace Boone as manager. Didn't the Yankees hire Sabean and Minaya as advisors to Cashman over the winter. What are they advising him on? What good have they done? What the hell is going on? Today's lost was devastating to say the least. Replace Torres and Donaldson while your at it. I am not happy.

Final. Yankees lose 7-4 after leading 4-1 after six innings and their starter German pitching a one hit game and in command. But Boone takes him out of game in seventh inning. Blunder number one. Boone brings in second tier reliever, Blunder number two. Boone changes reliever and does not bring in a top tier reliever, blunder three. All comes to a head when second baseman Torres makes an error allowing three unearned runs to score in the seventh inning. Boone's blunders created the situation that made the error a game changing event. A game that should never have been lose in my opinion, yet it was. I've said enough.

muchomachoman, we haven't heard a word from Sabean and Minaya, not one word. Whatever they have contributed, if anything, has been worthless, if that. Something is not right.

And I concur regarding Boone. He is not the man for the job.

A good well pitched game by both starters turned sour. The Cubs took out their starter when he cracked and went on to win. The Yankees took out their start when he didn't crack and went on to lose. If Boone is listening to anyone but himself in making managerial decisions and running the team then he is a stooge and an embarrassment to himself. If he has full control and making all the calls on his own, then he is a very poor manager.

Not to make light of an ongoing pattern by Boone. It is still the players on the field that determine who wins and loses. However, I see there is a negative pattern to Boone/s decisions to many times.

OK, instead of bein 7 games behind at the break, we are 8. Still can win it all. Never give up.

Tony Manchu said...

I would think Boone would have to lie through his teeth to tell why he took German out of the game.

I feel like Gleyber tries to show off too much and it costs him defensively, and hurts the team.

Yankees fire hitting coach today. Was the hitting coach operating under his own free will or was he told what he had to do from an organizational philosophy?

No baseball today.

I am still steamed about Sunday's game. Boone said he took German out to leave him on a high note.
THE GOAL IS TO WIN! NOT MAKE PEOPLE FEEL GOOD. 72 freakin pitches.
Then he implied that he wanted to give the pen some work going into the break.
WHAT IS THIS? LITTLE LEAGUE WHERE HAVING EVERYONE PLAY IS THE GOAL?

Watched parts of the home run derby last night. MLB has even made that a fiasco. Competitors are given extra time (extra swings) for hitting HRs above a certain distance. What a joke. MLB thought on what they are doing, it brings in extra revenue, so we give the dumb fans what they want. The old baseball fans, many who know real baseball are dying off and they do not matter anymore.

Biden Totally Lost Onstage At NATO Summit

Joe Biden was completely lost onstage today at the NATO 2023 Summit. Appearing with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg and Lithuanian President Gitanas NausÄ—da.

Biden needed directions from the pair of foreign leaders to exit the stage. As he stood with Gitanas and Stoltenberg, Biden waved his hands around, seeming to not understand what he was supposed to be doing.

Stoltenberg and Gitanas then ushered Biden off of the stage.

>>>>> Biden is a disgrace and an embarrassment to America and the American people.

Rortvedt is not familiar with Higgy and/or Louie Louie may feel more comfortable with Higgy right now.

Judge two run home run gives Yankees a tenuous 3-2 lead after three innings.

Domingo Orengo said...

Grosner, Keith Olbermann, as do. many others stated

"""First Freddie Freeman, now Edwin Diaz. The WBC is a meaningless exhibition series designed to: get YOU to buy another uniform, to hell with the real season, just split up teammates based on where their grandmothers gave birth."""

In my opinion, the WBC is a joke and a farce. Trying to play MLB players during spring training when maybe one in twenty players are in shape to go all out. I have never watched it, don't care about it, and never will.

Rodon out after four innings. Threw over 90 pitches to get 12 outs. Leaves down 4-0.

Todays Yankee lineup.

Nestor Cortes L

Jake Bauers (L) 1B
Aaron Judge (R) RF
Gleyber Torres (R) 2B
Giancarlo Stanton (R) DH
DJ LeMahieu (R) 3B
Isiah Kiner-Falefa (R) LF
Harrison Bader (R) CF
Anthony Volpe (R) SS
Ben Rortvedt (L) C

If Verlander is going for the outside corner on the right handed hitters, they need to hit the ball to right field.
Cortes five innings and keep Yanks in the game? Bullpen does the rest?

Jill Byrnes said...

OK guys, you woke Judge up. Grand slam in top of second for a 5-2 Yankee lead.
