The 2022 season is over. Another solid winning season making the playoffs. Sadly another season of getting knocked out of the playoffs and not making the World Series. A good season, yes, to make the playoffs, but not good enough to make the World Series.
The hot stove has been hot and is burning strong. Many big names have changed uniforms so far. The YANKEES re-signed free agent Aaron Judge and signed a top of the rotation starter in free agent Carlos Rodon.
As I told all the WIN METHOD fans in my July 5, 2022 blogpost, Aaron Judge was not going to sign with any other team but the YANKEES. Attaining Rodon is a fine upgrade to the starting rotation. With the addition of Rodon, the rotation is more balanced with three right handed starters and two left handed starters. Cole, Cortes, Rodon, Louie Louie, and Montas.
With Benintendi lost to free agency there is an opening in left field, I would think and hope the YANKEES will give Oswaldo Cabrera every chance to earn and then hold the left field position. Then there is the infield to deal with. First base as of now is the only infield position set in stone. Anthony Rizzo has first base locked up. There may or may not be a deal coming this winter to help decide the infield spots at second base, third base, and shortstop. But the YANKEES have an abundance of bodies in LeMahieu, Torres, Peraza, Kiner-Falefa, Donaldson, and possible even Volpe to fill the three positions. How things shake out during the winter break and then spring training will eventually tell the story.
The bullpen has many arms and should be no issue throughout the 2023 season, There are a couple of youngsters in the minors who are still developing and who knows just when the light bulb goes off for them and they are ready to make an impact at the major league level.
At the catcher position. Personally, I am looking forward to seeing what left handed hitting catcher Ben Rortvedt will bring to the team. Rortvedt may provide a big surprise. I would think the YANKEES will not carry three catchers and either Trevino or Higashioka will be gone.
In the minor leagues the YANKEES have a bunch of fine looking youngsters at all positions, as WIN METHOD as they can be, how they bloom and grow over time will determine their ultimate value.

As we head into the new year, 2023, two-thirds of all Americans believe they will be worse off than they are now. Higher expenses, more crime, more despair and lower savings. As the joebama/commie MALADY administration will tell you, things are getting better under their control. Make the best of 2023.
Looking at the Yankee left field position. Here is a quick overview of what Cabrera accomplished in his short stint with the Yankees in 2022. In my opinion Cabrera has already earned the left field starting position.
Oswaldo Cabrera: Cabrera was an amazing spark plug for the Yankees after receiving his first big league call up in August 2022. During the final run to the playoffs, Cabrera played in 44 games, batting .247/.312/.429 with 6 home runs while playing every position except center field and catcher. Despite having played just 34 outfield innings in the minors, Cabrera spent the bulk of his big league time in the corner spots, impressing to the tune of 9 defensive runs saved in 278 2/3 innings. While Cabrera certainly put a strong case forward to be an everyday outfielder going forward, he may have more value to the Yankees as utility-type given his ability to play just about any position.
I believe the Yankee problem is with themselves. Let the home grown kids play. What do they think they will find better than Cabrera right now? He will be just 24 starting the 2023 season. He has already played all four infield positions and both corner outfield positions in less than two months. Solid fielder at all positions, hustles, tries hard, and still developing. If he continues doing what he has done this spring, the job should be his.
Without a shadow of a doubt Cabrera should be the Yankee starting left fielder. Youth, speed, contact, power, aggressive, multi positional.
I hope no one was flying on Southwest Airlines these last few days and these coming days. What a nightmare of cancelations across the entire country. Remember who the US transportation secretary is. A radical liberal leftwing democrat disaster as a human being. Known by most intelligent people as Pete Butthead.

I see people, not here thank God, suggesting Trout for the Yankees. They do have concerns about his back as they should. But Trout has made his choice and he has ruined his team for going on a generation now. No question Trout has attained massive individual stats, but individual stats are meaningless. Look at Trout's team the Angels and see how many times they have made the playoffs since he has been with them. Then look at what he accomplished in the playoffs. Trout is a top contender for maybe one of the greatest highest individual stats loser of all time. The WIN METHOD wouldn't touch him with a ten foot pole.
I laugh every time I hear or see someone say how great Trout is. Only great if you want don't want to make the playoffs. Documented fact, look it up, see how many times Trout has helped take his team to the playoffs.

Unless people think Oswaldo Cabrera is an aberration, I don't see all the turmoil about starting him in left field for 2023. I can see a .250+ BA, 20+ HR, etc, and above average defense.
Mickey Littlebear, I think Cabrera may even already be better than Benintendi was for the Yankees. If Peraza starts the season at shortstop you have IKF, Donaldson, Torres, and LeMahieu to play 2nd and 3rd base barring any trades or injuries. That would make Cabrera and Peraza permanent starting position players at short and left. A plus plus.
Cabrera, Bader, Judge, left to right would give the Yankees the best defensive outfield in baseball.

The former Capitol Police chief forced to resign following Jan. 6 is set to release his side of the story in a new book warning nothing has been done to put the “agency into a better position” and that then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-Calif.) fault has remained unaddressed.
The day after the Capitol was breached and the narrative of a failed insurrection was being circulated, then-Capitol Police chief Steven Sund was singled out by the speaker for the breakdown in security with a public call for his resignation. Tuesday, nearly two years later, Sund’s account is slated for release in the book titled “Courage Under Fire” in which he recounts how his own preliminary requests for the National Guard to be put on standby were dismissed, seemingly to satisfy the whims of Pelosi.
“Almost two years after the events of Jan. 6, the department is not in a better place or on a readier footing,” The Washington Post reported Sund wrote after obtaining an advance copy of the book. “Few people in the department feel there is a visible plan to move the agency into a better position. Hundreds of officers have left the department since Jan. 6 and many feel it is only going to get worse.”
As has been repeatedly pointed out, there had been ample warnings identified by various intelligence agencies including the Capitol Police’s own unit that an attack of some kind could take place as the 2020 presidential election was being certified, but politics got in the way of acting on those details.
“The security and information-sharing policies and mandates put in place after September 11 failed miserably on January 6. We failed miserably to see the apparent warning signs and the danger, like a ‘gray rhino,’ charging right at us,” Sund wrote.
“But there was a failure at the top of the Capital Police,” he continued adding the “biggest intelligence failure was within my department.”
After the fact, according to Sund’s account, the former chief learned then-House Sergeant at Arms Paul Irving had denied requests for National Guard to be put on standby because Pelosi wouldn’t like the optics. A report released by House Republicans in December made similar claims when it stated Irving “had carried out his duties in clear deference to the Speaker, her staff, and other Democratic staff.”

As the American people expect to battle rising energy prices in 2023, the Biden administration published a congressionally mandated report highlighting the positive economic benefits the Keystone XL Pipeline would have had if President Biden didn't revoke its federal permits.
The report, which the Department of Energy (DOE) completed in late December without any public announcement, says the Keystone XL project would have created between 16,149 and 59,000 jobs and would have had a positive economic impact of between $3.4-9.6 billion, citing various studies. A previous report from the federal government published in 2014 determined 3,900 direct jobs and 21,050 total jobs would be created during construction which was expected to take two years.
But immediately after taking office in January 2021, Biden canceled the pipeline's permits, effectively shutting the project down.

Abbott said the federal government achieved "historically low levels of illegal immigration" under the greatest President, Donald Trump. But under the Biden administration, Abbott said, "America is suffering the worst illegal immigration in the history of our country."

Asked what the president’s response to Abbott was, the governor replied, "He said he wanted to work with us on it."

According to president of the National Border Patrol Council Brandon Judd — the union representing agents and support staff on the United States Border Patrol — Biden didn’t visit any of the areas that best represent the consequences of his disastrous border policies.
“The only people that he met with in the in the Border Patrol were upper-level management,” Judd says. “If they don’t tell him what he wants to hear, they’re subject to be moved. He did not meet with any rank-and-file frontline agents.”
“Every single Border Patrol agent that I’ve spoken with is extremely frustrated and upset about what just took place yesterday,” Judd told the Daily Mail. “They are upset that he was not willing to see what’s actually going on. They’re upset that they cleaned everything up. President Joe Biden wants to ban your gas stove. He intends to do it stealthily by preventing you from buying a new one so that when your current stove conks out you have no choice but to replace it with an electric stove.
His Consumer Product Safety Commission is pouncing on a new study by four researchers, two of whom are linked to activist groups that militate against carbon fuels . The report blames gas stoves for 13% of childhood asthma cases.
One should be skeptical of that number, which should be confirmed by scientists who don't have a conflict of interest, real or perceived. If the finding is important, it must be reproducible.
But even if the finding is reproduced, the case for government action is weak. Many of us choose to cook with gas because we prefer it, and the choice should be ours, not Uncle Joe's. Bossing citizens around to protect them is not a proper function of government in a free country. It certainly comes ill from a government whose green obsessions contribute to the death of half a million Africans a year because it won't facilitate financing for energy development in that backward continent.

Richard Trumka Jr., who was nominated by the president in 2021, was interviewed by Bloomberg on Monday, in a piece which said that "a ban on gas stoves is on the table amid rising concern about harmful indoor air pollutants".
"This is a hidden hazard," Trumka told the outlet. "Any option is on the table. Products that can't be made safe can be banned."
