2026 Major League Baseball playoffs

The 2026 MLB regular season is over. It is now playoff time.

The playoffs will begin tomorrow Tuesday September 29th. The twelve best teams of the thirty that started the 2026 season will meet in a four round elimination format where the best players and teams will play until the final two teams meet in the World Series to determine who will be crowned the 2026 world champions. The format is a win and move on to the next round or lose and go home.

The twelve teams are the Milwaukee Brewers, Los Angeles Dodgers, Tampa Bay Rays, Atlanta Braves, New York Yankees, Chicago Cubs, Philadelphia Phillies, Boston Red Sox, Cleveland Indians, Chicago White Sox, Houston Astros, and San Diego Padres. *The teams are listed due to wild-card placement rules.

The playoffs will last approximately one month. The final two teams will meet in the World Series where the winner will be crowned the baseball champion of the world.

Our YANKEES will play in the first round hosting the Boston Red Sox at Yankee Stadium in a best of three game series scheduled for Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. The listed starting pitchers are Schlittler, Fried, and Cole.
