The 2022 season is over. Another solid winning season making the playoffs. Sadly another season of getting knocked out of the playoffs and not making the World Series. A good season, yes, to make the playoffs, but not good enough to make the World Series.
The hot stove has been hot and is burning strong. Many big names have changed uniforms so far. The YANKEES re-signed free agent Aaron Judge and signed a top of the rotation starter in free agent Carlos Rodon.
As I told all the WIN METHOD fans in my July 5, 2022 blogpost, Aaron Judge was not going to sign with any other team but the YANKEES. Attaining Rodon is a fine upgrade to the starting rotation. With the addition of Rodon, the rotation is more balanced with three right handed starters and two left handed starters. Cole, Cortes, Rodon, Louie Louie, and Montas.
With Benintendi lost to free agency there is an opening in left field, I would think and hope the YANKEES will give Oswaldo Cabrera every chance to earn and then hold the left field position. Then there is the infield to deal with. First base as of now is the only infield position set in stone. Anthony Rizzo has first base locked up. There may or may not be a deal coming this winter to help decide the infield spots at second base, third base, and shortstop. But the YANKEES have an abundance of bodies in LeMahieu, Torres, Peraza, Kiner-Falefa, Donaldson, and possible even Volpe to fill the three positions. How things shake out during the winter break and then spring training will eventually tell the story.
The bullpen has many arms and should be no issue throughout the 2023 season, There are a couple of youngsters in the minors who are still developing and who knows just when the light bulb goes off for them and they are ready to make an impact at the major league level.
At the catcher position. Personally, I am looking forward to seeing what left handed hitting catcher Ben Rortvedt will bring to the team. Rortvedt may provide a big surprise. I would think the YANKEES will not carry three catchers and either Trevino or Higashioka will be gone.
In the minor leagues the YANKEES have a bunch of fine looking youngsters at all positions, as WIN METHOD as they can be, how they bloom and grow over time will determine their ultimate value.

These emails and text messages showed multiple pay-for-play schemes involving the Bidens and major players around the world, including officials in China. One email was located showing 10% to the big guy – the big guy was Joe Biden.
The Bidens were involved in multiple deals with China involving hundreds of millions of dollars.
This week the Daily Mail uncovered another email found on Hunter’s laptop that included Joe Biden in a 2017 email discussing a multi-million dollar gas deal with CHINA.

In October 2017, Hunter and his uncle –Joe’s brother Jim Biden – were brokering a multi-million dollar deal to supply gas from Louisiana to the country on behalf of their business partners, Chinese energy giant CEFC.
At the time Joe Biden had finished his term as vice president and had yet to announce any plans to run for president in 2020.
A Louisiana-based lawyer on the other side of the deal wrote in an October 27, 2017 email that he had arranged ‘a call from Joe Biden and Hunter Biden on Monday morning to discuss the purchase of the 5 million tons of gas for China to use as they pleased.
We don’t know how much money Hunter and Joe Biden made in this deal with China.
After Biden stepped into the White House after stealing the uncertifiable 2020 Election, Biden killed President Trump’s energy policy that made America energy independent.
Then Biden began taking from the US oil reserves that President Trump had replenished during his time in office. Biden drained these reserves to help China.
The Washington Free Beacon reported that Biden lied to the American people and took oil from the US oil reserves not to help Americans at the pump, but to help China.
Power the Future founder Daniel Turner admonished Biden for selling “raw materials to the Communist Chinese for them to use as they want.”
“We were assured Biden was releasing this oil to America so it could be refined for gasoline to drive down prices at the pump. Turner also said the decision highlights the Biden family’s “relationship with China.” Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, is tied to Sinopec. In 2015, a private equity firm he cofounded bought a $1.7 billion stake in Sinopec Marketing. Sinopec went on to enter negotiations to purchase Gazprom in March, one month after the Biden administration sanctioned the Russian gas giant.
Biden sold a million barrels of oil from US reserves to the same company connected with Hunter.

Going back to Peralta/Kiner-Falefa and the shortstop position. Honestly, there should be no issue about who should start at shortstop. Either you believe in Peraza or you don’t. He has nothing more to prove at AAA, and he’s not going to learn anything sitting on the bench while Kiner-Falefa plays. The Yankees have nothing special in Kiner-Falefa as a starter. He is a solid utility infielder off the bench. Peraza needs to start the season at short, no ifs ands or buts.
Hoyle, the same can be said about Cabrera and Hicks. Cabrera needs to start in left field. Hicks is best suite for sitting on the bench.

Harry Stavris, At this time I am not enthused with Peraza at lead off. That could change during spring training games, maybe. I sort of like Judge hitting in the 2 hole. Do not want Hicks in the lineup unless he excels in spring training. As of now I think Cabrera is a better hitter and defender and a just plain better player. I think Bader could fit pretty much anywhere in the lineup.

Guys, we all can come up with a multitude of lineups. However, as usual we can only talk about lineups and anything else. Spring training, injuries, performance, roster concerns, where to give youngsters playing time, and management knowledge, etc, will determine the lineup, which is always fungible.
The Yankees announced that Brad Wilkerson will join their MLB coaching staff in 2023 as an assistant hitting coach. Wilkerson replaces Hensley Meulens, who moved on to become the lead hitting coach with the Rockies in November. Hope he can help.

Social Security is not a socialist entitlement program. If it were a socialist entitlement program everyone would pay-in the same amount over the contribution period, and then each individual would also be paid the same amount during the pay-out period of the program.
The Social Security Program is a form of an annuity insurance program. Individuals pay varying amounts into the program during the contribution period depending on each individual’s earnings. Those who earn more pay-in more. Then during the pay-out period of the program individual’s are paid varying amounts depending on the varying amounts they contributed to the program. Those who contribute more are paid more. Socialism is an equal outcome program no matter what the individual’s level of contribution is.

Social security is a mandatory contribution to a program designed to assist people when they retire due to age or disability. It doesn’t contribute to the national debt and would not have funding problems if the government had not stolen from it to fund social programs. Medicare has premiums which are paid by the subscribers and are based on income.

Scott has proposed sunsetting all government programs after five years, then making Congress reauthorize them if they want to keep them around.
In a Wednesday morning statement, Senator Scott said, “Last night, Joe Biden rambled for a while, but it seems he forgot to share the facts: In my plan, I suggested the following: All federal legislation sunsets in five years. If a law is worth keeping, Congress can pass it again. This is clearly and obviously an idea aimed at dealing with ALL the crazy new laws our Congress has been passing of late. Joe Biden is confused… to suggest that this means I want to cut Social Security or Medicare is a lie, and is a dishonest move… from a very confused President. Does he think I also intend to get rid of the U.S. Navy? Or the border patrol? Or air traffic control, maybe? This is the kind of fake, gotcha BS that people hate about Washington. I’ve never advocated cutting Social Security or Medicare and never would. I will not be intimidated by Joe Biden twisting my words, or Chuck Schumer twisting my words – or by anyone else for that matter. HOWEVER, Biden and Democrats did, in fact, cut Medicare just last year. They lie about it and the liberal media covers for them. Ronald, logical and fair question in my opinion. I will answer in my opinion. With MLB having 30 teams now and creating a very large discrepancy in scheduling, all 30 teams do not play a fair and balanced schedule anymore. With added teams making the playoffs, MLB has created a second season. The second season recently has gotten longer and longer over the years. When one of the greatest YANKEES owners passed away and the YANKEES had a new owner (son of the previous owner), the new owner it appears to not have the same passion for winning. The new owner does not have the same relationship with WIN METHOD as his father had, and some opportunities were missed that wouldn't have been passed up by his father. In the past few years, the present owner is coming closer to the WIN METHOD evaluation. How that will turn out in the coming years, we will see The WIN METHOD has been used for 30 years now, and as good as the WIN METHOD is, (the best evaluation tool in the world), the YANKEES have not won or even played in the World Series every year. That will never happen for any team, is not happening for any team, and has not happened for any team in the history of baseball. HOWEVER, since the use of the WIN METHOD, by the YANKEES it has made the YANKEES the winningest team in baseball. Now use your thinking cap and logic, as good as the YANKEES have been over the past three decades, winning more games than any other team, and making playoffs most often, and with the extended second season, they will not reach nor win the World Series as consistently as in the past.

I go back a very long time and as great aa Yankees were when I was young, they did not get to or win the WS all they time. Most of the time, yes, but not all the time. That was the time when the Yankee ownership cornered the market on ball players. Those were the decades of equal schedules, just eight teams for each league, and each league winner went to the WS. No playoffs, no expanded schedules, each team in each league only played the seven other teams 22 times each for 154 games. Only the league champions would ever play an 8th team, and that would be in the WS.
In 1954, the Yankees won a 100 games and didn't win their league and didn't go to the WS. Basically, it's all common sense. It is harder to get to the WS in todays game and crazy
rules. Maybe this year.

Cory, I will go with the WIN METHOD philosophy, you win the most, you are the best. My choice is team J.
Cory, you can look at it seasonally and in the big picture. Seasonally, each team that won each season as the best each season, then there is teams A and B which won twice. And finally the entire ten years of team J winning the most. All qualify as beat under the WIN METHOD, but the team who won the most over ten seasons was never the best in any one season.
Waiting to see what Ronald's thoughts are, he seemed to be not in sync with the WIN METHOD.
I like what yankeeclipper wrote. I will add, they do not play for which team wins the most games over a ten year span. They play for who wins enough to get to the playoffs each year, which a feather in the cap of the teams that do make the playoffs. And then another feather for each major round of the playoffs, through the World Series. I would break down each season and then the playoffs and World Series. Credit each team for each step and then come up with a grand total for each team and see who comes out on top and so on.
If the best team wins the World Series, then the two teams that won the World Series twice are the best teams over the ten year span.

1. Unbalanced schedule.
2. Blaming owner.
3. That even with evaluation tool team can’t win every year.
I guess my counterpoints are:
1. This won’t be the case now, with balanced scheduling going forward.
2. Blaming owner seems harsh given that the Yankees have one of the largest payrolls still. There’s been a lack of player development in that very few players are coming through the system and having an impact, why is that?
3. I know Yankees can’t win every year but it’s been a long drought. The Astros have been a superior organization (I HATE to say) in recent history, hard to argue with that.
You really can't really fairly rate something that is not a goal. But you can rate teams each year on how close each team comes to reaching the yearly goal. If you give a designed and logical point system to teams each season and then add them up for each team over a ten year span, you could come up with a logical degree of accuracy on who the best teams were over any floating ten year span. Logical and sensible are not something stat frauds use.
