WIN METHOD - MID SEASON 2022

Greetings WIN METHOD baseball fans and those of you trying to save America from being destroyed by the people presently running/ruining America right now.  Eight months is a long time between blog posts, but once this season got rolling, I didn't want to upset the applecart.

The 2022 season, what can I say?  So far so good.  This team seems to be on a mission and their goal is the World Series.   The mid-point of the season seemed to be a good time to chime in.  Having a thirteen-game lead on your closest competitor is a pretty good place to be in.

The YANKEE minor league teams have a great amount of up-and-coming talent developing through the system and should make for a consistent playoff team for many years to come.  The loser fans who are not happy with making the playoffs consistently have issues to deal with in their thought process.  Since the onset of the WIN METHOD, the YANKEES have been the winningest team in all of baseball and have never had a losing season.  Unfortunately, no team can win the big prize all the time, and no team can even play for the big prize all the time, however, no team comes close to playing for and winning the World Series more than the YANKEES.

Here is a bit of information all WIN METHOD YANKEE fans should love hearing, here it is, Aaron Judge will finish his career in a New York YANKEE uniform.

Now, as the YANKEES continue through this season, it appears apparent to most YANKEE fans, the YANKEES need to do some tinkering with player personnel to upgrade the team in certain positions.  Let me tell you, YANKEE management is well aware of these concerns and are addressing them.  I cannot divulge who, how, where, when, and what will be done, because it is an ongoing process with many variables that must be considered and accounted for.  Please remember fans, the YANKEES management makes the final decisions after hearing all input from many sources.  Then after all is concluded, it always comes down to the performance of the players on the field when it matters and counts most.  No individual stat of any player is more important than the team winning.  Wins and winning are in the final analysis the determining factor in the best players and teams are every season.

The YANKEES have been playing .700 baseball so far this season and that is outstanding.  Just playing .600 baseball for the rest of the season will carry them to the playoffs.

WIN METHOD fans, you all know when this blog started, how it has grown, and number of views that it has received over the past fourteen years.  It is the number one YANKEE baseball blog, forum, site, message board in the world.  WIN METHOD fans, you did that.  Many of you have come from other sites that have either failed or folded, are struggling with minimal views, or are still in operation, but are of poor quality where posters are not really allowed to speak freely.  You WIN METHOD fans have this blog on track to reach one billion four hundred million views this year.  THANK YOU ALL, THE GREATEST AND MOST INTELLIGENT BASEBALL FANS ON EARTH.

Todays Yankee Lineup

Luis Severino (R)

1. DJ LeMahieu (R) 1B
2. Aaron Judge (R) CF
3. Matt Carpenter (L) RF
4. Giancarlo Stanton (R) DH
5. Gleyber Torres (R) 2B
6. Josh Donaldson (R) 3B
7. Joey Gallo (L) LF
8. Isiah Kiner-Falefa (R) SS
9. Kyle Higashioka (R) C

Rizzo was pulled from last night's lineup with back issues, out again tonight. I made a fool of myself with my thoughts on last night's game. I'll try it again; the Yankees win in a 'laugher' with five home runs.

Eddie OConnor said...

Yankees score two in fifth and take a 2-0 lead after five innings.

Donaldson and Gallo with back to back Ballantine beer blasts in 6th put Yankees up 4-0.

jimbo said...

Guy Padikian, you called it. You stuck to your guns even when the Yanks came up Tuesday, you came back and doubled down. Highashioka HR in 7th made it 5-0 and then Judge grand slam in 8th makes it 9-0. Donaldson sac fly makes 10-0. It is a laugher, you have 4 of your 5 home runs, the Yanks still come to bat in the 9th.

will-i-am said...

Final. Yankees win 16-0. Yes, it was a laugher, as called by Guy Padikian. Louie Louie gets the win going six scoreless innings. Peralta went a scoreless 7th, followed by Chapman with a scoreless 8th, followed by Abreu with a scoreless 9th. Yankees hit 6 home runs, Guy Padikian called 5. Solo home runs by Donaldson, Gallo, Higashioka, and Stanton. Grand slams by Judge and Hicks. An awful lot of meaningless runs. You get nothing extra for all the runs except padded individual padded stats.

Jill Byrnes said...

Oh my, all those wasted runs. Stat fraud fodder for their meaningless existence. Oh well, to each their owm.

Yankees play a four game long weekend series in Boston starting tonight, all are night games with a 7PM start time. Cole, Cortes, Monty, and Taillon are listed starters.

Todays Yankee Lineup

Gerrit Cole (R) P

1. DJ LeMahieu (R) 1B
2. Gleyber Torres (R) 2B
3. Matt Carpenter (L) DH
4. Giancarlo Stanton (R) LF
5. Josh Donaldson (R) 3B
6. Aaron Hicks (S) CF
7. Jose Trevino (R) C
8. Isiah Kiner-Falefa (R) SS
9. Joey Gallo (L) RF

No Judge and no Rizzo. Hope Cole is on his game.

RLA said...

Hey, if Cole pitches a shutout, all we need is one run, or how about Manfred making up a new rule, teams can use runs from their previous game that were not needed in that game.

Kojak said...

We play around, over, under, and thru all obstacles. We do not whine, snivel, or cry. We are WIN METHOD, not stat frauds.

Benny Pake said...

RLA, love your Manfred take down.

Vince/Brooklyn said...

Scoreless first inning.

Stan the Man said...

Vases loaded, two outs, Donaldson hits grand slam when it counts and matters most giving Yankees early lead in third inning 4-0. Wow, Hicks follows with a HR for 5-0 lead with sux coming to bat in bottom of third.

YankeeMike said...

Cole can't throw a shutdown inning to maintain the momentum and give up a two run home run. Yanks lead 5-2 after 3. It is not and end all failure, but it is a failure to produce when it matters. Just keeps the sux alive.

Stan the Man said...

Trevino two out RBI double put Yanks ahead 6-2 in 5th.

Tommy Lee said...

Cole does it again. Eats the apple and allows three run HR cutting the Yankee lead to 6-5 after five innings. Your offense scores six runs and your "ace" gives up five is not supposed to happen.

Yanks23245 said...

Cole goes six innings and leaves leading 6-5. Peralta in for seventh.

Domenic said...

Peralta has a 1,2,3 7th. Pitches to one batter in 8th and retires him. King now in. King finishes inning keeping Yanks in front 6-5.

White Knight said...

Holmes in for the ninth and save try. Popup, K, roller back to Holmes. Three up three down. The Yankees win 6-5.

will-i-am said...

Final. Yankees win 6-5. Cole gets win. Bullpen goes three shutout innings with Peralta and King getting holds and Holmes getting the no drama 1,2,3 out save. Great to win the first game of a four game series.

jimbo said...

Cole struggled, but the Yankee offense scored enough runs for the win. That is all that matters and that is all that count. Remember that fans, the win is all that counts.

Diane Stahl said...

Holmes is amazing. An infield popup, a strikeout, and a dribbler back to him. He doesn't seem to fear the ultimate challenge.

Laura Kohler said...

Judge and Rizzo on bench. Donaldson and Hicks step up for six runs and the win. Sweet.

Andy K said...

I bet, tomorrow Cortes handles Devers better than Cole.

will-i-am said...

Final. Yankees win 12-5. Castro gets the win, Luetge a 3 1/3 inning save striking out six. Donaldson a 3 run HR and Carpenter a solo HR. Check the box score to see all the scoring. Yankees win the first two games of this four games series.

Carl Hooks said...

Monty's turn tonight. So far out starters have gone 9 2/3 innings and given up 9 runs. The bullpen has gone 8 1/3 innings and have given up 1 run.

NJYANKEE said...

The Yankees are awesome. So far this season they have won every way imaginable. Pitcher duels, slugfests, offensively, defensively, with pitching, with great aggressive base running. It’s just been one heck of a WIN METHOD season. Even in games they have lost, they seem to have been able to have given themselves a chance right to the end.

Tommy Stenchion said...

Just won two games with the sux on their home field. One game without Judge and Rizzo playing and the other without Stanton and Rizzo playing. That tells me that this team has great depth.

I waited all this time to post this. I have seen no mention of it anywhere here or in several forums I looked at. Devers cheated twice last night and both times the umpires called it on him. The interference calls were not needed since the Yankees completed the plays both times. The first one was Devers popped up in front of home plate, and when Trevino went to make the play, Devers was blocking him, and Trevino had to give Devers a shove to go after the popup. The home plate ump immediately pointed at Devers and the catch of the popup became moot. The second was when Donaldson stole third base and Devers missed the ball and then held his glove on Donaldson without the ball. When Donaldson realized the ball was down the left field line he tries to get up and run home, but Devers was on third base blocking Donaldson's route home. Donaldson tried to step around Devers and when he did and took off for home he stumbled over Devers (look at the replay and you will see the stumble}, the third base umpire immediately pointed at Devers and called interference, which again was moot, as Donaldson scored anyway.
Now, I will make my point, Devers, just like afraud has great talent, no question, but he is a lowlife dirt bag just like afraud.

Monty goes 5 2/3 and leaves with a 3-2 lead. King in to get final out.

will-i-am said...

Final. Yankees lose 6-5 in ten innings. The Yanks lost a heartbreaker tonight. 3-3 after nine innings the Yankees scored 2 runs in the top of the tenth on RBI doubles by Judge and Rizzo to take a 5-3 lead. Peralta came in to close it out and had nothing giving up 3 runs and taking the loss. A great game with much excitement, but a loss.

yankeeforever said...

You can't win them all. All you can do is try. The Yankees tried, and lost a tough one run game 6-5. Try again tomorrow.

When the sux won last night, you would have just won the World Series. The overwhelming pile on of players rolling on the ground, screaming and yelling embarrassed themselves, the organization, and the fans; as if that were possible in the cesspool of Massachusetts, Boston, and their fans.

Bury the sux. And while you are at it, democrat, liberal, progressive politicians also.

2. Aaron Judge (R) RF
3. Anthony Rizzo (L) 1B
4. Giancarlo Stanton (R) LF
5. Josh Donaldson (R) 3B
6. Matt Carpenter (L) DH
7. Aaron Hicks (S) CF
8. Jose Trevino (R) C
9. Isiah Kiner-Falefa (R) SS

Lets get it done. Hold them down Taillon. Take this series.

Victor Grandozi said...

You know the drill, produce when it matters most, you will win.

candycane said...

Yanks up 4-2 after 2.

yankeeforever said...

Stanton first inning 2 run home run and second inning RBI singles by Trevino and Kiner-Falefa gives Yankees 4-2 lead after two innings as Taillon gives up 2 run home run in second.

yankeeforever said...

Carpenter third inning 2 run home run gives Yankees 6-2 lead, but Taillon gives up solo home run leaving Yankees up 6-3 after three innings. Yankee offense doing what they need to do, but Taillon keeping the sux breathing.

Bobby Behan said...

Taillon fails miserably. Gives up 3 runs in the 5th and the game is tied a 6. Taillon has fallen of the cliff in his last several starts. He is not fooling batters anymore.

Nick Polito said...

Chapman in for the sixth in a 6-6 game.

Yanks23245 said...

Chapman on for the 6th inning. Gives up a popup single off DJ's glove. Tough break. Walks the second batter. Another walk, bases loaded, no outs. Strike out as batter strike out himself swinging at two balls well off the plate on 3 & 1 and 3 & 2. One out. DJ misplays another popup, allowing run to score but Yanks get second out as Judge gets force out at second base as the run scores. Strike out. The run is all on DJ. Down 7-6.

yankeeforever said...

Castro in for the seventh and the inning start with an error by IKF, walk, single loading the bases, followed by a three rbi double. I think the Yankees are not coming back tonite. So they split a four game series with the sux, knock four games off the season schedule and lost no ground over the series. That is the advantage of being in first place and a double digit game lead.

will-i-am said...

Final. Yankees lose 11-6. Chapman takes the loss. Taillon takes the ultimate fail. Stanton and Carpenter with home runs as Yankees took 6-2 lead in third inning. Then the tires went flat, all of them. Read yankeeforever's post right above this one for the synopsis of the series and where the Yankees are, at this point in the season.

Perfect day for no Yankee baseball. Need to develop a plan for the rest of the season and beyond. Yes we can and yes we will.

Steve(winstheonlystat) said...

We all know that the WIN METHOD is performance under pressure. My concern is the Yankees being so far in front of their division. Unless their lead dwindles significantly, they will not really be playing under any real pressure. They need to keep this in mind as they prepare for the second season (playoffs).

okiened said...

Steve(winstheonlystat)

Hopefully the older guys, ie Rizzo, Carpenter, even Boone, who have been to and through the World Series can relate this to all the guys who haven't. Even Donaldson has a lot of playoff time, but never made it to the WS.

Deb F said...

No matter who Boone plays, there will always be two capable players sitting the game out. What a wasted game, and it wasn't just Holmes blowing it. It was the dismal offense who did almost nothing. The Yankees had 2 runs in the first inning after the first three batters. One run the rest of the game as they played with no energy and desire. Hope this is a wake up call.

Ten game set log. 2022 Season

Set one...... 01 - 10... 5 - 5.. 05 -05..Not good. Playing .500 ball means no playoffs.
Set two...... 11 - 20... 9 - 1.. 14 -06..As good as it gets, almost perfect.
Set three.... 21 - 30... 8 - 2.. 22 -08..Another great ten game set. So far so good.
Set four..... 31 - 40... 7 - 3.. 29 -11..Not as good as the last two sets, but still good.
Set five..... 41 - 50... 6 - 4.. 35 -15..Very good set considering team injuries.
Set six...... 51 - 60... 9 - 1.. 44 -16..Another dominant set. Very strong.
Set seven.... 61 - 70... 8 - 2.. 52 -18..Yes, another great ten game set. The beat goes on.
Set eight.... 71 - 80... 6 - 4.. 58 -22..A good series. Half way home and 14 game lead.
Set nine..... 81 - 90... 4 - 6.. 62 -28..Due to happen, a losing set. Still 12 game lead.

A losing set is never good. .500 ball over the last two sets is not good. We come to the All-Star game break and a chance for most players to get time off. Need to come back and return to winning sets.

Taillon tonight. Can he rebound with a top effort and restore some semblance of order.

WIN METHOD said...

This is a good time for new comers here at the WIN METHOD blog to discover just how great the WIN METHOD system/philosophy is. The WIN METHOD knows for a fact that the best players and the best teams, after a 162 game season, reach the playoffs every season. Why are these players and teams the best? One reason, and one reason only. They win more games than the other teams and qualify for the playoffs based on the rules set up by MLB. They are the best not based on any players individual performance. Individuals do not make the playoffs by themselves, it is the accomplishments of every player on the team over the entire season that determines the best.

How do these players and teams win the most? By the number one tenet of the WIN METHOD, producing the most times when it matters or counts the most. Therefore it is factual to say that the players and teams who do not make the playoffs, failed the most when it mattered or counted the most.

Now to the playoffs. Here is where the rubber meets the road, here is where you win each series, and here is where if you lose any series you go home and your season is over. At least you go home knowing you reached the playoffs and were one of the best players and teams in baseball. The stat frauds, the most ignorant people in baseball say the playoffs are just 'luck' a 'crapshoot' a 'roll of the dice'. They have to say this in order to cover up just how bad and meaningless their individual stats, their man made convoluted formula stats, and using individual stats to rate teams and players are.

At the end of it all is the final event, the World Series, where the two best teams, and the best of the best players in all of baseball play. At the end of the World Series, the best players and the best team of that season will be determined. Nothing else matters, but wins and winning and the WIN METHOD, where producing when it matters and counts most is all that matters most.

yankeeforever said...

WIN METHOD, are you trying to put the talking heads, fake man-made formula creators, and stat frauds out of work? I would love to see TV announcer's broadcast a game using the WIN METHOD and telling the listener's how important it would be for a hitter/pitcher to accomplish a certain thing at any point in each game and pointing out the failure or success by each side.

Erica Nuyens said...

WIN METHOD, great explanation of your methodology. Facts kill. Good work, love ya,

RLA said...

yankeeforever, since WIN METHOD came on the scene, I look at baseball differently than I used to. I appreciate the game and the players so much more now. I was at an old, now defunct, baseball forum and got banned when I defended WIN METHO when he posted there and also got banned.

Hugh Johanson said...

I believe that the crux of the issue between stats and winning stems from the very origins of baseball and baseball owners. Baseball became popular when men invested money building teams to compete against each other entertaining the populace. The people came and they spent money. The more popular baseball became, the more the people came and the more they spent. Owners would build ballparks, sell things, and make money. The owners enticed fans by "selling player" abilities. The onset of individual stats to get people into the parks and spend. When the people spent, the owners became richer, and when the owners became richer, baseball grew, and now we have what we have today. Winning to the owners was pretty much only another enticement to bring people to the ballparks to spend and enrich the owners even more.

I guess by now you all get the point. Players get paid for their stats, bringing fans to the ballpark, and selling merchandise, making owners richer. All this obfuscates the game itself and how wins and winning are really determined. It takes a team to win, no player does it by himself.

Deb F said...

WIN METHOD, love your post and guidance. Love WIN METHOD baseball. I get far less mad when the Yankees lose games, I just feel the frustration knowing the player(s) feel the same frustration.

Vince/Brooklyn said...

Last night's Yankee 9th and 10th innings produce when if matters most failures are perfect examples of losing a game that could have, should have easily been won. There is no stat of any kind that can define those failures last night like the WIN METHOD can.

Hoyle said...

Here is an example of a two run home run producing when it matters most to win a game and a two run home run that is meaningless and only pads the hitters stats.

A. You are in a road game and trailing 1-0 top of 9th. Hitter hits a 2 run HR to win game.

B. You are in a road game and winning 8-0 top of 9th. Hitter hits 2 run HR, 10-0. Meaningless.

1. DJ LeMahieu (R) 2B
2. Aaron Judge (R) CF
3. Anthony Rizzo (L) 1B
4. Giancarlo Stanton (R) DH
5. Josh Donaldson (R) 3B
6. Matt Carpenter (L) RF
7. Aaron Hicks (S) LF
8. Isiah Kiner-Falefa (R) SS
9. Jose Trevino (R) C

Taillon has to keep it close to give us a chance.

I know as WIN METHOD fans we accept that the people running the team have more insight an information than any of us do, BUT, I really believe Joey Gallo should not play ever again in a Yankee uniform. He is just driving your car with a flat tire. It is not a wise thing to do.

Ernie Hassel said...

Will be the start of no more Gallo? There is only one more game before the break.

Steve(winstheonlystat) said...

WIN METHOD, from your lips to the baseball fans ears, then brain. It is hard to argue against the common sense of the WIN METHOD, unless you are a stat fraud and believe that winning does not make you the best.

Four innings complete. Yanks lead 4-1.

yankeefan2 said...

Carpenter hits second three run home run of game putting Yankees in front 8-1 after five.

Jimmy Thames said...

Taillon back in the saddle again. Goes six brilliant innings allowing one run and two hits. Leaves with a 10-1 lead and more than likely the win.

will-i-am said...

Final. Yankees win 14-1. Carpenter the hitting star and Taillon the pitching stat going six innings of one run ball. The bullpen gets a full night off as Weber goes the last three innings allowing no runs. Carpenter 2 home runs and Judge 1. Rubber game tomorrow and last game before the All-Star Game break.

Chris Blacker said...

Finally, a strong dominant win. Pitching and hitting outstanding. Wish some of those runs could be saved. All those 8th inning runs were a waste.

If the Yankees and Cole can win tomorrow it would put a perfect exclamation mark to the theoretical end of the first half of the season.

This is late for a mid season all star game. I can't remember it ever being this late in July. In a way it is good for the leading teams. There will be only approximately 70 games left in the regular season. Lets go Yankees.

5. Matt Carpenter (L) DH
6. Aaron Hicks (S) LF
7. Isiah Kiner-Falefa (R) SS

9. Kyle Higashioka (R) C

No Stanton and no Gallo. If Cole does what Tallion did we will win. IF.

YankeeMike said...

Yankees score 3 runs in first inning and knock Sale out of game with a broken finger sustained on a line drive off his pitching hand pinky. Yanks early lead 3-0 after one inning.

A tough break for Sale who was only making his second start of the season after coming back from a rib injury sustained in March.

yankeefan2 said...

Glad we knocked Sale out of the game, but not that way.

Cole does it again. Gives up two run HR in third, cutting Yankee lead to 3-2.

It sure is nice having no baseball for a few days when you are 13 games in front and have only 70 games left to play. Now fans should be able to see just how important every game is. You can't change the outcomes of games you have already played. You play for wins and each win has the same value no matter when it is earned. Wins and only wins gets teams and their players to the playoffs. The losing teams and the losing all go home having failed to be the best in baseball.

Warren Hammond said...

Two weeks to trading deadline. Will Yankees obtain an impact player that WIN METHOD very likely has found. There may be several names on his WIN METHOD player list. Cashman makes the deals, and I believe Cashman has restrictions he operates under. Then it up to Cashman to convince Hal Steinbrenner if money is needed. Then there are the analysts who have their input (although their input is in reality the most useless) that is considered. Making deals happen is not as easy as the stat frauds think. There are just so many factors that must come together with the biggest being that the two sides who are dealing are both satisfied.

Steve(winstheonlystat) said...

The idiot poster have gone on and on about what it would take for the Yankees to have to give up to obtain Juan Soto. Nothing, if you are smart you don't touch Soto. The fun part for me would be leading the Nationals on and on to the point they think they are so close to a deal they can taste it. And then you walk away.

Sammybigdog said...

The home run derby is pretty bad. It does define stat frauds and meaningless stats very well however.

Billy Tedder said...

I hope the Yankees aren't wasting their time thinking about Juan Soto. He is NOT, using the stat fraud term, generational. He is not worth half of what he is seeking financially. Finally, no one or two or three players create a team and winning.
When it comes to Juan Soto, just say no, or make a maximum offer of 2 million a year.

The stat frauds bend over and grab their knees for high individual stat players, such as Trout, Machado, Harper, and now Soto. A massive waste of money for clearly not the best players as verified by the WIN METHOD.

Jerry Curcio said...

Anthony Naro, I chuckled a bit when I read your comment. I read the phrase "mike'd up" and thought shouldn't it be mic'd up. I thought a while and decided mike'd up was best.
Then I looked it up and mic'd was started in the 1960's for some stupid reason. Stupid, because think of these words and how they are pronounce, bic, hic, pic, tic. Mike and mike'd had been used for decades before some idiot decided it should be mic.
To conclude, great job on using mide'd up. That would be WIN METHOD.

Could a liberal democrat criminal attempt to murder a political figure and be let free? Sadly, in the state of New York the liberal democrat criminal who tried to murder representative Lee Zeldin, was set free six hours after his arrest, with no bail, and on his own recognizant. Judge 3 run HR in 3rd gives Yankees 3-0 lead. Taillon gives 2 runs back in can't finish the 3rd inning and leaves with 2 outs and the bases loaded. Luetge in and gets 3rd out. 3-2 Yankees thru 3. Taillon was terrible tonight, not sharp at all.

Chapman in for the 7th, and stinks up the place giving up 3 runs and only gets one out. Yanks only up by 1 at 7-6. King finishes the 7th. 7-6 Yankees.

will-i-am said...

Final. Yankees win 7-6. Luetge gets the win. Chapman blows up and put the O's back in the game with pathetic pitching, giving up 3 run in 1/3 of an inning. King and Holmes go the last 2 2/3 innings for the hold and save. Judge with 2 HRs and 4 RBIs the big bat. Gallo 7th inning HR becomes the winning run. Loaisiga also pitched one inning and was poor giving up a run.

Diane Stahl said...

Cole goes tonight and a win takes the Orioles series.

Norm Jackson said...

The sad takeaway from last nights game was Michael King out for the season. Fractured his elbow on a pitch in the eight inning last night. That is a big loss. Loaisiga needs to get his act together now. Worst is Loaisiga likely won't be as good as King was. Could use German for a hard inning going all out, maybe. He is not a good option as a starter in my view.

Vince/Brooklyn said...

6. Matt Carpenter (L) RF
7. Aaron Hicks (S) LF

9. Kyle Higashioka (R) C

Stanton out. Hate to say it, but with Cole needs to come up big with a better than a quality start. WIN.

yankeeforever said...

Judge rbi double in first and Carpenter HR in second have Yankees up 2-0 after two innings.

James Doyle said...

Yankees leading 3-2 after five. Offense, except for Judge failing every time when it matters most, squandering several scoring chance. Cole as the ace needs NINETY-ONE pitches to get thru five innings. Maybe he will try to pitch the sixth, but that would be all. Not a good outing for an ace against a last place team, albeit not a bad team.

jimbo said...

Cole came out for 6th inning and was hit hard but was lucky and finished inning. Cole now at over 100 hundred pitches comes out for the 7th, gets no one out and gives up 2 runs putting the Yankees behind 4-3 and then is taken out of the game after the damage is done.

will-i-am said...

Final. Yankees lose 6-3. Cole blowing a 3-0 lead gives up 4 runs in 6+ innings and takes the loss. Judge was the only Yankee to produce when it mattered most tonight. The Yankees failed 13 times when it mattered most. If anyone thinks any one player in baseball is worth 25, 30, 40 million dollars a year, you are mistaken. Fortunately for the Yankees there is plenty of time to righten the ship.

Linda Rice said...

A sad game tonight. Very disappointing.

Steve(winstheonlystat} said...

Rubber game. Will the real Yankee ace step up and show how it's done? At least when named to the All Star game Cortes pitched in it while Cole sat on the bench.

Eddie OConnor said...

When you throw 90 pitches in five innings as a pitcher, you are not challenging and or fooling hitters. To me that means you are not a great pitcher. Cole is just another 30+ million dollar player who is fools gold.

In the second inning Yankees use the four-man outfield configuration and Torres drops a fly ball putting Cortes in a hole, but Cortes pitches his way out of the inning.
