WIN METHOD - HOT STOVE - 2021 - 2022 The world's best internet Yankee site for baseball talk.

It's been a long time between blog posts and I have a lot to say, so hang on fans.

This is going to be a long off season waiting for baseball to resume in 2022.  There are so many questions.  How long will the owner/player collective bargaining take?  Could there be a delay to the start of the 2022 season?  What rule changes will be implemented or restored?  Will there be a designated hitter in the National League?  Sticky stuff agreement?  Dead ball or juiced ball?  New commissioner or does the dolt imbecile Manfred stay?  Will Hal Steinbrenner spend and try to build the Yankees?  Who will the YANKEES get rid of by hook or crook, deal or dump?  Will the top minor leaguers be given a chance to play on the big stage if any prove themselves in spring training or continue to be held back?  Will manager Aaron Boone ever say a negative about anyone who doesn't go all out?  who always swings from the heals?  who does not hit against the shift when it is right there in front of them?  passed balls?  dumb  base running?  constant misplays?  not hitting behind runners?  watching their batted balls that could be doubles or triples turn into singles because they did not run hard?  and my pet peeve, failure to score runners from third base with less than two outs?

I would like to congratulate the WORLD CHAMPION Atlanta Braves for winning the 2021 World Series.  The Braves are the best team in baseball and their players are the best in baseball for what they accomplished in winning the World Series.  Each year, as always, only the best team and the best players win the World Series.  This is irrefutable no matter what the stat frauds would like you to believe.   No individual stat or combination of stats overshadows why baseball is played...it is to win games.  Baseball has set rules as to how teams qualify for the playoffs, right now it is ten teams based on winning and wins.  Nothing else matters.  Advancement through the playoffs is based on wins and winning.  Nothing else matters.  The best team and players are the last one winning the final series of the season, the World Series.  Nothing else matters.  Do not believe the words, excuses, denials, and lies from the stat frauds.  Nothing is more important than wins and winning.  The following paragraphs discusses wins and winning,

It is amazing how you can define almost every game by production when it matters most. Production when it matters most wins games and winning games is the desired result you want from the players on your team. The players who are more interested in their individual stats and value them more than the team winning are the players you do not want on your team.

That is how the WIN METHOD values players. Each year players are valued on how far they help lead their team. One, the ten teams who make the playoffs. Two, how far the players lead their team into the playoffs. Third the players who reach the World Series and win the World Series.

The ten teams that reach the playoffs have reached the highest level of competition by eliminating two/thirds of the other teams. Now the best are playing only the best for a very short timeframe. That is when produce when it matters most reaches its highest level.
Each series a team is eliminated until you reach the final two teams, the best of the best.

Voila, you have the WIN METHOD, undeniably the best player evaluation tool in the world. No made up convolute man made fake and useless formulas. No exit velocity, no how far a ball is hit, no how much nor how many and individual reached. No fake ERA's. WINS is all the matters and WINS and winning is the only stat that determines the best in the game.

Why do stat frauds hate, bemoan, demean, and deny the WIN METHOD?  Stat frauds live by individual statistics.  Their best players are only the best based on their numbers.  They do not care if their high individual stat players do not help their team make the playoff, the stat frauds just blame the other players on the team.   However when the players with lesser individual stats lead their team to the playoffs and beyond and even win the World Series the stat frauds do not recognize them as the best.  I guess the stat frauds players who produce most when it matters most is just dumb luck.  In my opinion stat frauds and the word dumb are synonyms.

Why haven't the YANKEES made the playoffs since MR. S. passed away?  There is only one answer.  The answer is the person running the team, Hal Steinbrenner.  There have been many opinions expressed all through the sports media and other sources regarding Hal's operating priorities, his direction, his wisdom, and more.  No one knows for sure and all are just guessing.  But, whatever Hal is doing, it appears it needs to change direction and it needs to change to a positive direction.  In my opinion, I believe much of the problem is the analytics being used.  Numbers and stat sheets do not win games, players on the field playing baseball for the team to succeed wins games.

Here is a fact for all baseball fans to think about.  Since the inception of the WIN METHOD the YANKEES have had the best record in baseball.  The most wins and least losses than any other team in either league despite the present owner and his decisions.  His father gave him a golden goose and he is turning it into a tarnished golden goose.  Time for some polish and elbow grease Hal.

So, now we watch and wait to see what the YANKEES do this hot stove season.  It is up to them, nothing any fan or pundit says or thinks makes a difference.  I feel I have done my part in advising on WIN METHOD players.  Not everyone chosen and or signed by the YANKEES is WIN METHOD.  I can do nothing about that, I do not coach nor manage nor run the team.   Mr. S. was a strong and staunch believer in the WIN METHOD since its live inception.  The success of the YANKEE team from the WIN METHOD inception until the death of Mr. S. was extraordinary.  Hal Steinbrenner is not his father and that alone may be the biggest issue why the YANKEES haven't reached the WORLD SERIES for far too long now.  Let's see what happens in 2022.  We can only hope things change for the positive..

LET'S GO YANKEES

Set one...... 01 - 10... 5 - 5.. 5 - 5..Not good. Playing .500 ball means no playoffs.

Set three.... 21 - 30... 8 - 2.. 22 - 8..Another great ten game set. So far so good.
Set four..... 31 - 40... 7 - 3.. 29 -11..Not as good as the last two sets, but still good.
Set five..... 41 - 50... 6 - 4.. 35 -15..Very good set considering team riddled with injuries.

The way I see it, is the Yankees had two hits in the first inning and scored three runs, then went seven innings without a hit or a run, then had four hits and four runs in the ninth inning to win the game and go home.

I can't wait to see what the Yankees come up with to win another weird game.

The Yankee win last night was another proof positive win for the WIN METHOD and yet another stake in the heart of the stat frauds. The Yankees were outhit 11 to 6 last night and the Yankees only had 4 opportunities to produce when it mattered most while the Astros had 10 opportunities. The difference was the Astros only produced 2 times when it mattered most, while the Yankees produced 3 times.

FloridaYankee said...

The Yankees 10 games ago started a 13 consecutive game schedule that had them playing games with some of the best and most successful teams in baseball. After 10 games played the Yankees are 8-2. Losing the next 3 would mean the Yankees would finish the 13 games with an 8-5 record which is extremely strong considering the competition.

Hit it where they ain't. Play within yourself. Lets go Yankees.

After five innings of scoreless ball from both pitchers, Louie Louie cracks first and gives up a 3 run HR in sixth. Yankees coming to bat down 3-0.

Stanton home run puts Yankees on board. Trail 3-1 thru six.

Final. Yankees lose 3-1. Louie Louie gives up 3 run home run and takes the loss. Stanton home run only Yankee run. Couldn't come up with a big hit tonight. Series even at one with game three tomorrow and Cole starting for Yanke.

3. Josh Donaldson (R) 3B
4. Giancarlo Stanton (R) DH
5. Gleyber Torres (R) 2B

Cole gives up home run in top of seventh, Yanks down 1-0 and coming to bat, still with 0 hits.

Yankees fail in seventh striking out three times. Trail 1-0 after seven and no hits.

King in for the 8th inning and allows a solo HR. Yanks down 2-0, and coming to bat.

Stan the Man said...

Yankees get 2 walks in 8th but no hits.

will-i-am said...

Final. Yankees lose 3-0. Offense, none, not even a hit. Pitching, Cole goes seven innings giving up one run on a solo home run and takes the loss. King goes the eighth and gives up a solo home run. Luetge goes the ninth and gives up a run. That's all folks, a real downer game for the Yankee. Let's see how they bounce back tomorrow.

I look at it this way, whoever the starter is for the Astro's tomorrow he has to far more hittable than the last two starters we saw. If Cortes keeps us in the game, we will win.

Mario/Staten Island said...

Tomorrow's game is the 13th and last game of the all over .500 playoff quality team run. If the Yanks win they would be a remarkable 9-4 for the 13 games. If they lose they would wind up a very strong 8-5. Take everything in perspective, as a whole, and look at the big picture. The Yankees are a very solid and strong playoff team. The best is yet to come.

Jill Byrnes said...

We win today and the Houston goes home thinking they are just as good as us. We lose today and we regroup and play better with more desire next time. Lets go Yankees.

muchomachoman said...

So what, big deal, the Yankee got no hitted. If they got 10 hits and lost, what the hell difference does it make, except in the eyes of the fake media and ignorant stat frauds, it was just one lost game. Wake up people.

Todays Yankee Lineup

Nestor Cortes (L) P

1. DJ LeMahieu (R) 3B
2. Aaron Judge (R) CF
3. Anthony Rizzo (L) 1B
4. Giancarlo Stanton (R) RF
5. Josh Donaldson (R) DH
6. Gleyber Torres (R) 2B
7. Aaron Hicks (S) LF
8. Isiah Kiner-Falefa (R) SS
9. Jose Trevino (R) C

As things stand right now, this may be the Yankees strongest lineup. I believe we will see some life in the bats today. Cortes need to come up big also. Send Houston home with a split.

will-i-am said...

Final. Yankees win 6-3 in 10th inning on Judge three run walk off home run. Stanton solo HR in 7th was first Yankee hit of the game and first hit and run in Two days. LeMahieu 2 run HR in 8th tied game. Judge won it in 10th. King earns win with a fantastic when it matters most pitching effort allowing no runs with men on first ant third and no outs in the 10th. A magnificent with sends the Astros home with their tails dragging.

Live and learn stat frauds. Come out of the dim, damp, dark, misty fog of meaningless stats and come into the light, warm, bright, sunshine of the WIN METHOD. Learn baseball.

The Houston Astros and New York Yankees just played a four game series. Both teams lead their division, and there is not much love between the two teams. Let's look at the calmative stats for the four games,

Houton scored ----- 15 runs and had 30 hits.
Yankees scores ---- 14 runs and had 15 hits.

Looking at the runs, it looks like the teams should have split the series and they did.
Looking at the hits and you would have to really wonder how Houston only scored 15 runs on 30 hits and the Yankees scored 14 runs on just 15 hits.

The explanation is easy stats don't tell the truth, but the WIN METHOD always does tell the truth. It is defined as producing when it counts the most or it matters the most.

What is most illuminating is when these stats are similar over a three game series and the team with the higher stats loses two of the three games.

Wake up stat frauds.

Monty embarrasses himself. I guess he felt he had an easy game to pitch against the A's. He gives up five runs in the third getting hit hard and putting the Yankees down 5-1. It looks like the Yankees have some work to do. Things like this should not happen.

Chad Copely said...

Yankees down 5-3 thru five innings.

BIGTIMEYANKEE said...

Yankees come up with their own five run inning in the seventh highlighted by Donaldson and Trevino each with a 2 RBI double putting the Yanks in front 8-5. Gonzalez with an RBI single making it 9-5.

will-i-am said...

Final. Yankees win 9-5. Yanks come back from being down 5-1 after three innings. Monty had one heck of a rotten inning giving up 5 runs in the third. Monty went 6 2/3. Abreu went the last 2 1/3 giving up nothing and earning the win. Home runs from Rizzo and Stanton in first and fourth innings, both solo home runs. The winning inning was the seventh for the Yanks scoring six times all on walks and hits. The two biggest hits Donaldson's 2 RBI double and Trevino's 2 RBI double. The downer, sadly Gallo who led off and ended the six run seventh inning with outs.

NJYANKEE said...

Phil Jenkins, you called it. Yanks bringing up Sears to start tomorrow's game with A's pushing back all starters for an extra day of rest. Sears tomorrow and Taillon on Wednesday.

⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️

With inflation at 40-year highs, workers across all income levels are having a harder time making ends meet.

As of May, 58% of Americans — roughly 150 million adults — live paycheck to paycheck, according to a new LendingClub report. That’s down slightly from 61% who reported living paycheck to paycheck in April but up from 54% in May 2021.

Even top earners say they are stretched thin, the report found. Of those earning $250,000 or more, 30% are living paycheck to paycheck. (Another recent survey, from consulting firm Willis Towers Watson, estimated 36% of those earning $100,000 or more are living paycheck to paycheck.)

“Consumers have experienced a tough last couple of years as different factors have affected their financial lifestyle, and there seems to be little relief in sight,” said Anuj Nayar, LendingClub’s financial health officer.

Cole.goes six, allows 2 runs on 3 hits and leaves with 10-2 lead. Chapman makes his return, walks three batters and is quickly taken out with bases loaded and no outs. How depressing from Chapman. Ugh!

Final. Yankees win 13-3. Cole gives up 2 runs in six innings for the win. Chapman back after injury for first appearance, gives up 2 runs in 0 innings walking all three batters he faced. Good two out hits for several runs for an easy win. Game two coming up at 6PM.

Rizzo & Stanton back to back home runs in 4th give Yankees 2-1 lead thru 4.

Yankees score four times in the seventh all on when it matters most at bats and take 6-1 lead.
Cortes goes six inning giving up one run and three hits. King on for the seventh inning.

Ten game set log. 2022 Season

Set one...... 01 - 10... 5 - 5.. 05 -05..Not good. Playing .500 ball means no playoffs.
Set two...... 11 - 20... 9 - 1.. 14 -06..As good as it gets, almost perfect.
Set three.... 21 - 30... 8 - 2.. 22 -08..Another great ten game set. So far so good.
Set four..... 31 - 40... 7 - 3.. 29 -11..Not as good as the last two sets, but still good.
Set five..... 41 - 50... 6 - 4.. 35 -15..Very good set considering team injuries.
Set six...... 51 - 60... 9 - 1.. 44 -16..Another dominant set. Very strong.
Set seven.... 61 - 70... 8 - 2.. 52 -18..Yes, another great ten game set. The beat goes on.
Set eight.... 71 - 80... 6 - 4.. 58 -22..A good series. Half way home and 14 game lead.

Regular season is at half way mark. Only way to look at season so far is it is better to be in front and behind. Happy Independence Day Yankee fans. Another half season to play.

Cory, it has been a great season, and it seems even when we lose, we have a chance to win right down to the last out, such as today's 2-0 loss. Had bags full in the ninth.

Dale Hoffman said...

July 4th 2022, our nations birthday. BUT, this day, right now, may be one of the worst July 4th's in our history. People encouraged and then allowed to break our laws and enter the USA illegally, many of them drug dealers, murderers, robbers, terrorists, pedophiles, liberals, progressives, democrat criminals. And they are paid by the worst administration in our history to travel to wherever they want to go in the country to commit their crimes on American citizens. American citizens are being devastated by inflation, the economy is in ruins, we owe over thirty-one trillion dollars. We are the laughing stock of the world. We were energy independent, but not any more. We have to pay through the nose for gas to run our cars, and for gas and electric to heat/cool or homes. Crime is rampant across American cities, and the criminals are set free by liberal progress democrat scum politicians. We are funding a was in Ukraine and not doing a single thing to win the war. Why, because of liberal progressive democrat scum politicians. Seniors and families savings are being eroded. There is so much more.

I am sorry for being a downer on out nations celebration day. Sadly, there is not much if anything to celebrate.

We must cleanse the nation of liberal progressive democrat scum in all elections going forward.

YankeeBob said...

Tough loss today, but we did not hit. We do have one gaping hole on the team, in my opinion, and that is Gallo. He has been given enough rope, and he has hung himself. Time to cut him done.

Warren Hammond said...

I am going to expand on Dale Hoffman's post. I would like to ask every person who votes and reads this, do you agree or disagree with Dale Hoffman's post?

If you agree, and believe America is hurting, then you know there is a way to help America survive.

If you disagree, and believe America is doing well now, and you can live with what is happening, then as a country, we are doomed.

Jack Bauer said...

One thing is for sure about tomorrow's July 4th, it will be America's 246th birthday. Maybe a celebration in not in order, but congratulations and happy birthday are.
