WIN METHOD YANKEE BASEBALL 2021 SEASON -- FULL SEASON

Hello WIN METHOD Yankee fans, the smartest baseball fans on the face of the earth.  It has been a long time since I last blog posted.  However, there have been comments within the blog from me.  So here we go for 2021.

First, the Yankees will be in the playoffs again this season, but they also will play in the World Series.  In talking with players, they are not happy with what they have achieved the past few seasons.  They feel they have something to prove and want to do it now.  Most of the players have undertaken a new or modified training program instituted by the training staff.  Look for less injuries and less severe injuries this season.  That will be a step forward and a plus for the team as a whole.

Second, Corey Kluber and Jameson Taillon both feel very optimistic with what each will contribute to the Yankees success this season.  Both players believe their injuries are behind them.  As of now, the Yankee starting rotation looks like it will have four men in the first four spots right now.  Cole, Kluber, Taillon, and Montgomery.  The fifth spot will be determined in March.  The guys who do not make the fifth spot will either be sent to AAA Scranton or long relievers on the big team.  Then the big guy Louie Louie Severino will make his return to the Bronx in June.  The pitching staff looks solid and has many fall back arms to rely on.  The bullpen remains solid and strong, also with several young arms looking to make an impact.

Third, the lineup will be solid again, more important, will be healthier.  Runs will be put on the board.  The biggest question mark will be at catcher.  Catcher Gary Sanchez has been a black hole in the Yankee lineup recently, ala afraud in the past.  Gary Sanchez is being mentored and talked to by coaches and trainers.  Sanchez feels it is helping him,  As the season starts, we will all see if it has.  Sanchez himself is the only person who can really make it happen.  It is up to him.  A big WIN METHOD season from Sanchez would be a big help to the lineup and the team.  If he does what he has been doing the last couple of seasons, Gary's days could be short lived.

As you all know I always read all posts by all of you who post here.  Looking at the numbers of views recorded on the WIN METHOD blog there are also an enormous number of fans who read the blog consistently.  You fans will take this blog, the number one Yankee baseball blog in the world over the one billion mark somewhere around June 1st this year.  You are the people who take this blog in the direction you want it to go on a daily, weekly, monthly, or whatever time frame basis.  This past year, we saw a very shortened baseball season, we saw a disgusting Chinese created virus, spread throughout the world by the most foul Chinese government, killing millions of people from all countries across the globe.  We had a presidential election here in America.  The election was the most corrupt election in the history of America stolen by the most corrupt politicians in America's history.  We now have the most corrupt politicians in America's history running our country.  They will do their best to destroy America.  Hopefully, you the people will do whatever you need to do to stop the destruction.

It is now back to baseball and a great Yankee season.  Thank all of you for reading and posting your views and opinions in this blog.  You are the people who have made the WIN METHOD blog the best and greatest Yankee baseball blog, forum, or site in the world.  We here are WIN METHOD will continue to have no signups, no ask for no personal information from you, no advertisements, and no bans of anyone.  You, your views, and your opinions do not get canceled here.  Unlike big tech, other baseball forums or sites which control you by banning or canceling you, here, that will never happen.

One more thing before I conclude.  I would like to recognize the life and pay my respects to RUSH HUDSON LIMBAUGH III who passed away February 17th.  Rush was the greatest radio and political commentator of all time.  Rush's radio career spanned over thirty years.  Rush's show was three hours a day, five days week, fifty-two weeks a year.  Rush was right 99.8% of the time and one of the finest American patriots who believed in freedom and pursuit of happiness of every single American.   Rest in peace, you will never be forgotten.

It is baseball time again.  Lets look forward to a great season and as always LETS GO YANKEES.

Even at three after seven. Sanchez with another base running blunder.

Chad Copely said...

Frazier with a run saving and maybe game saving diving catch in the 8th keeping score at 3-3.

Stan the Man said...

3-3 after 9. On to little leaguer Rob Manfred extra inning baseball.

Tommy Lee said...

Yankee 10th. Men on 2nd and 3rd with one out Urshella strikes out. Bases loaded two outs Sanchez strikes out on pitch in dirt. To the 11th we go.

Hobbs said...

Frazier walk off home run wins it in 11th.

will-i-am said...

Final. Yankees win 5-3 in eleven innings. Frazier hero offensively and defensively. Diving catch in 8th saves a run and game goes to extra innings. HR in 11th for the walk off win.
Now, can the Yankees build on this win?

Eddie OConnor said...

One exciting game to watch. Even better when you win.

Monty listed to start tomorrows game with Cole listed for Thursdays.

Yanks23245 said...

German allowed 3 runs in his five innings, however he pitched better than his line looks. The Yankee bullpen went six innings and did not allow a run. Cessa earned the win.

Lou Lis said...

Using the law of averages, the Yankees have been so horrific producing when it counts so far this season, when things turn around at any time now, the rest of the season could be a barn burner.

Diane Stahl said...

Trying not to look ahead, but as a fan I am allowed to. If Monty keeps us alive tonight and the Yankees win, Cole goes tomorrow and we can win this series. That would be gigantic.

Steve(winstheonlystat) said...

If the Yankees are so bad, as other Yankee forums suggest, then every team in baseball is also bad.

Anthony Bilbao said...

It appears Andujar is finding his batting eye. Just need to keep him in the lineup. Seems to be not having any issues with left field defensively.

Deb F said...

Yankees repeatedly shooting themselves in the foot. Chance after chance to put this game away and failure after failure keeps Rays in game. The ultimate boondoggle came in the seventh inning when the Yankees put the first two men on with no outs. Both men were picked off on the base paths with more horrendous baseball acumen. Yankees still hold 4-3 lead after seven.

AAA said...

Green goes a scoreless 8th.

Benny Pake said...

Theeeeeeeeeeeeeee Yankeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees Winnnnnnnnnnn. 4-3 thriller. Lead series 2 games to 1.

will-i-am said...

Final. Yankees win 4-3. Monty earn the win. Loaisiga and Green holds. Chapman the save. Chapman had to work hard in 9th. Walked the first two hitters, struck out the next two, then got the third out on a comebacker. Urshella and Frazier two rbi's each for the offense. Not so good was the consistent failure to put the game away several times.

RLA said...

Another nail biter. But a win! Final 4-3.

Walt Belamy said...

Cole tomorrow with a chance to take this four game series. It is a big game. Not a season breaker or maker, but nonetheless a big game against the top division rival.

yankeedoodledandy said...

Monty did his job, kept us in the game, best of all he got the win.

muchomachoman said...

yankeedoodledandy, Monty could have had an easier time of it if the offense would have produced a little more. They could have/should have scored several more runs.

Carl Hooks said...

Cole was given an extra day of rest from his last start, he should be a bit stronger for this start.

Gardner third inning HR gives Yankees 1-0 edge.

Stan the Man said...

Cole comes up empty again giving up five runs in five innings. Yanks trail 5-1. Umpiring is atrocious and has been a major factor in this game, all against the Yanks.

Tug Garner said...

Yankees down 5-1 after 5. Cole out. 5 runs in 5 innings.

will-i-am said...

Final. Yankees lose 9-2. No excuses except for the one constant. Yankees are not producing when it counts. Again today, men on second and third no outs and the Yankees do not score.

Swen Jorgenson said...

I apologize if I missed it, but I don't recall seeing any mention of Urshella's playing at shortstop except that he was playing the position

From what I say Urshella lays over Torres at the shortstop position. More range, better arm, better footwork, and smoother all around. But then again, you could say that about almost anyone playing shortstop in MLB.

Victor Bruno said...

I will be surprise if the Yankees do not pound Eovaldi and knock him out of the game tonight.

Swen Jorgenson, I agree with your comment. Urshella only played a couple of games a short however, but he did look far better than Torres in all aspects of defense.

Final. Yankees lose 5-2. Not only lose, but play lackluster and listless game. Strikeout after strikeout, no contact and more no contact. What is going on?

Ron Francis said...

The Yankees were down 3-0 when they came to bat in the first inning. Both LeMahieu and Stanton singled to start the inning. Judge up an what else, we get a double play grounder that took all the air our of the Yankees. I bet the bench felt exactly as I did watching on TV, ...here we go again... As it turned out it was over, the Yankees only scored 2 runs in the game.

Nathan Riley said...

I don't know how much more of this I can take. Something has got to give. Fresh blood one way of the other.

Victor Grandozi said...

Judge reminds me of our old friend afraud. Only regarding baseball, not character nor personality. Judge and afraud both had/have gaudy individual stats, but you never want either at bat when it matters most and the game is on the line.

Xavier Young said...

Taillon starts tomorrow night.

yankeeclipper said...

Really could use the last two games against the sux.

Aceman said...

As a team everyone has to do better. No player should be paid to fail. For example, if the Yankees do not make the playoffs this season, no player should get a raise of any kind for next season. Screw the players union. Fire everyone and bring up a roster of minor leaguers from A, AA, and AAA. Have some fun doing it.

YankeeBob said...

The Yankee lineup is putting a lot of pressure on the Yankee pitchers by not scoring runs. Our pitcher make a bad pitch or two and give up a three run HR and two run double. Out opponents pitchers make bad pitches and it really makes no difference because we strike out 15 times and when we do hit the bad pitch we hit into a double play or popup with a runner on third and less than two outs.

The nightmare in the Bronx continues as Green gets lit up for four two out runs in 8th putting Yankees down 7-3. My opinion is Boone has got to go.

will-i-am said...

Final. Yankees lose 7-3. No comment. I am very disappointed.

Yankeeforever said...

German starts tomorrows game, not to win this series, but to try to prevent a sweep. How bad is it going to get?

Mike Smith said...

Taillon pitched his heart out last night. No runs over five innings. He has not gotten an out in the sixth inning this season. He should never have been sent out to pitch in the sixth inning. That is on the head of manager Aaron Boone.

MAWRY said...

Ruining another weekend. I really think this is my least favorite Yankee team of all time. 45 years. There were worse ones that were much more interesting.

Stan the Man said...

I'm not sure what Aaron Boone does well. I think he comes across badly with the media (hiding injuries, lame excuses, etc) and has consistently poor in-game strategy. While it can be argued that a key role of a manager is the work they do behind the scenes in the clubhouse, the result of that behind the scenes work should be players and a team that perform at potential and have good fundamentals (which clearly is not happening).

YankeeMike said...

I hope everyone would understand this. Getting rid of Boone is like putting on a Band-aid on a bullet wound. Until Cashman and his staff are cleaned out nothing will change. The bigger problem may be that we have an owner who may not care and or doesn't know any better.

Mario/Staten Island said...

YankeeMike, I agree. Reminds me when CBS owned the team and ran it into the ground. That is when Mr.S. stepped in and made the buy of the lifetime. He made the Yankee great again. will-i-am said...

Final. Yankees lose 6-5 in ten innings of Manfred garbage baseball. Yankees keep finding ways to beat themselves. Odor pinch hitting in 9th inning and the game hanging in the balance is called out on a 3-2 pitch that was outside by six inches. Nothing good is happening for the Yankees, but I still believe it will and when it does the Yankees will roar back to life.

coryankee said...

Yankee fans, take a DEEP BREATH. We will overcome and we will make the playoffs and more this season. The race is not over until the finish line is crossed. Yes we can and yes we will.

okiened said...

What is up with Boone, and the third strike call on Odor that wasn't near a strike? That was such a bad look for Boone. I t was one of those moments that are tailor made for the manager to come out and blow a gasket. Who knows if it would have galvanized the team but it looks really bad that Boone didn't seem to care that his player just got screwed over by the umpire, and that his 3rd base coach who is too sick to even be out on the field showed more fire with an IV port still in his arm.

Yankees ten game series.

001-010 5-5
010-020 4-6 = 9-11
021-030 7-3 = 16-14
031-040 6-4 = 22-18
041-050 7-3 = 29-21
050-060 2-8 = 31-29

This 2-8 ten game series is atrocious. It wiped out the gains of the two previous series in half the time. Ten more series left and if the Yankees win everyone of them they will likely go to the playoffs. Playing like garbage early creates more pressure as the season progresses and makes winning that much harder. WINS are the only stat that counts and the only one that matters.

Sean Smith said...

Cory, 2-8 is a disgrace. There is a way to correct that to some degree. Must go 8-2 or better these next ten games.

Chad Copely said...

The Yankees need to not only win every series, but also sweep several. Marching in place will not allow them to make the playoffs in my opinion.

Chapman in for the save try as they start the bottom of ninth.
Yankees have very unusual off day tomorrow, a Friday, which is very rare. Then play a two game series in Philadelphia. Saturday at 4pm with Taillon starting and Sunday at 1pm with German starting. Chapman gives up lead off single and then a game tying home run, still nobody out and a blown save. Third batter singles and each hit was very hard hit. Oh my fourth batter hits home run and Yankees lose 7-5. What a disaster.

will-i-am said...

Final. Yankees lose 7-5 in ninth as Chapman comes in with a two run lead and gives up single, home run, single, and home run. Every ball was hit like a rocket. The sweep is blown and a step backwards is taken. Not good at all. Has to be a major loss.

Watching todays game, it's a pleasure watching hitters hitting the ball to the opposite field so often, producing when it counts so often and winning. That is what you get from a Joe Girardi led team. Unfortunately that team is not the Yankees. Yankees falling behind early again today. Down 4-0 after 2.

Teena/ex-Bronx said...

Yankees look pathetic and trail 7-0 thru five innings. Each day they keep getting deeper in the hole. The character of this team is sad to watch and no one in charge is doing a darn thing about it.

will-i-am said...

Final. Yankees lose 7-0. The Yankees playing without resolve, embarrass themselves this afternoon with lifeless ineptitude as their manager watched the game from the top step of the dugout blowing bubbles.

Deb F said...

Another off day tomorrow and then three with Toronto in Buffalo. We could be double digits out very quickly if not sooner. Does Hal Steinbrenner even know what is happening, more important does he even care.

Warren Hammond said...

If something bigtime is not done really really soon by the Yankees, it will be too late. Waiting for the trade deadline in my opinion will definitely be too late.

Rajiv Maragh said...

Montgomery, Cole, and King listed for the Blue Jay series. No news yet on Louie Louie. Had MRI today and meeting with doctor tomorrow.

Doug Parker said...

As of now there is no new news on Louie Louie Severino groin injury.

Matt Cooper said...

Warren Hammond, we could know by the all star game break if the Yankees are toast or not for this season. The way things are going, it does not look good.

BIGTIMEYANKEE said...

Stat frauds, analytics, fake formulas, meaningless stats, are all ruining baseball.

I know that "the game" has changed and there is more focus on analytics, but what made the teams in the 90s so great was that they PLAYED AS A TEAM. Everyone contributed, sure there was Jeter who was in a class by himself, but everyone had a role and everyone did their own thing well. Clutch homeruns, not always swinging for the fences. Need to move runners over a base, hit a sac fly, bunt..........no problem, they could do it -- small ball and timely hits and good pitching. In other words, the WIN METHOD. Everyone playing for the team to win, and not for themselves or their individual stats.

WHAT HAPPENED TO THAT GAME PLAN.

I don't care what analytics tell you, exit velocity is garbage if you can't do anything else. HOW HARD IS IT TO BUNT OR MAKE CONTACT.

I just don't get it. Burn the stats and the stat frauds. A home run is a home run no matter how far it travels. Heck, you can hit a home run and the ball never leave the playing field. A home run hit at 80 mph is the same as one hit at 120 mph.

Sports media is now chiming in on something I predicted weeks ago here:

It’s time for Yankees to replace Aaron Boone with Buck Showalter

Press release on Louie Louie......

In his second minor-league outing in his rehab program for Tommy John surgery, Severino retired five hitters before bowing out in the second inning with what appeared to be a painful-looking groin injury. Severino was scheduled to undergo an MRI on Sunday, but the Yankees likely won't reveal the results of those tests until after he's examined by team doctors. More information regarding the extent of his groin injury along with a timeline for him to resume his rehab assignment should come soon, but even if Severino's setback is deemed minor, he still may be hard-pressed to make it back from the 60-day injured list before the end of July.

Wilsonsway said...

Grosner, do you think Showalter will be allowed to do whatever he wants as long as Cashman is in charge and pulling the strings?

Yankeeforever, we can only hope for the best and hope the groin does not end Louie Louie's season.

Gus Papa said...

Does Cashman and the Yankees want to embarrass Boone by firing him? His contract runs out this season, and they just don't have to rehire him for 2022. That way the new guy starts with a clean slate. What if the guy they put in now, if they do, does even worse than Boone?

Jack Gordon said...

BIGTIMEYANKEE, what is most difficult to swallow is the fools who are buying what the stat fraud geeks are selling.

Waiting for news on Severino better known as Louie Louie.

Veerayut Maneechote said...

It will be interesting to see what the Yankees bring to the table this series. What with the talk of firing Boone and or Cashman plus Hal Steinbrenner not caring about the team of winning. Is there anyone or two or several players with character who care about winning and playing winning baseball, or is everyone just going through the motions and living the good life of the overpaid underperforming society of I got mine, the hell with you.

Todays Yankee Lineup

Jordan Montgomery (L) P

1. DJ LeMahieu (R) 2B
2. Aaron Judge (R) RF
3. Gleyber Torres (R) SS
4. Giancarlo Stanton (R) DH
5. Gio Urshela (R) 3B
6. Gary Sanchez (R) C
7. Miguel Andujar (R) LF
8. Chris Gittens (R) 1B
9. Brett Gardner (L) CF

Frazier didn't even make the lineup against a left handed pitcher. Gardner beats Frazier offensively and defensively. Do the Yankees earn a win?

Louie Louie has a grade two groin strain and will be sidelined four to six weeks.

It sure looks as if the Yankees haven't emptied the gun yet, another shot in the foot as they trail the Blue Jays 5-2 after four innings. Game is not over yet, you never know.

5-3 Toronto after six.

Final. Yankees win 6-5 coming back from a 5-2 deficit. A true team win playing the game the way it should be played. Producing offensively and pitching when it mattered most.

Yankees win a nail biter 3-2 in a cliff hanging 9th inning as Chapman pitches into big trouble and pitches out of it for the save.

will-i-am said...

Final. Yankees win 3-2. Game wasn't easy and was in doubt until the last pitch. Chapman comes in for the 9th inning for a save attempt. First batter single, second batter double, men on 2nd and 3rd no outs. Third batter K's for first out. Fourth batter bounce back to Chapman and runner on 3rd is tagged out in a rundown for the 2nd out. Men on 1st and 2nd. Fifth batter flies out to center. Cole gets the win, Chapman gets the save, Yankees get the win.

King starting for Yankees in final Toronto game. He will need to be sharp and come up big to keep Yanks in game. Hopefully the Yankee bats will find the baseball when it matters most.

Paul Hirschman said...

King has the stuff to be a really good pitcher. He is still learning and gaining confidence. We need our starters to step up and WIN.

Xavier Young said...

Paul, you can add in the aging, ripening, maturing process as well. Pitchers, as they learn, eventually the light bulb shines and they become formidable entities for a team.

Giambino said...

Listening to David Cone last night Cole lost over 200 spin rate from his previous start. Now lets see, Cole gave up 2 runs over 8 innings, which is very normal for him. So, I would be led to believe that spin rate means little to nothing and is yet another meaningless stat from the frauds.

I have read several post here on this blog regarding Aaron Boone not getting fired up with players and umpires when required. Remember, he recently had a pacemaker installed in his body to help control his heart. I believe one of the protocols post surgery is not losing your mind and blowing your top. Just saying!

will-i-am said...

Yankee score was 8-4 win last night. I posted 7-4. The reason I posted 7-4 was that I read a previous posters post and did not think. Sorry fans.

Yankees back home tonight and have a three game series with the Oakland A's. Taillon, German, and Montgomery will be the Yankee starting pitchers. Will the Yankees keep producing and win this series? YES WE CAN.

Hector Lopez said...

For the Yankees to win the division and or make the playoffs, there is not that much room for losing streaks. The Yankee big losing streaks need to be over and done with for the rest of the year. Only wins and winning can get them of any team into the playoffs. Baseball is all about winning, nothing else matters.

Cory said...

Last nights Yankee triple play was the first of its kind in the history of baseball. It was a
1-3-6-2-5-6 triple play, pitcher, to first baseman, to shortstop, to catcher, to third baseman, to shortstop. Baseball, the worlds greatest sport continues with first evers even after well over 100 hundred years of games.

Margo Walley said...

I had two great thrills out of last nights game. First, the first inning triple play, and second Chris Gittens big 2 RBI single taking an outside pitch and driving it on a line to right center for two gigantic runs which secured the game.

YankeeMike said...

Still haven't heard anything on Torres back issue after being taken out of last nights game.

Wayne Wells said...

Margo Walley, hitting the ball to the opposite field? What a novel concept. And how about Gardner's sacrifice bunt, thought bunting was tabooed by the stat fraud imbeciles.
