The 2018 season is over. Small success as the YANKEES reached the playoffs. Big failure as the YANKEES lost the ALDS and did not go as far into the playoffs as they did in 2017. So on to 2019.
The YANKEES had far too many injuries in 2018. Some of the injuries kept players out not for days, but for weeks and months, and some for the season and into the coming 2019 season.
The YANKEES front office has some work to do this winter and the hot stove should be ready to start getting very warm. The YANKEE primary need appears to be a front line starting pitcher and a good left handed bat. Trading away Torres or Andujar would be a major boondoggle and a blunder that the team may not be able to overcome. The YANKEES will not start the season with Montgomery and Gregorius, both out with major injuries. The YANKEES have already resigned Bret Gardner for 2019 on a one season contract deal. I cannot go into who the YANKEES should or should not sign here for proprietary reasons, I will leave that to all you brilliant WIN METHOD posters with all the common sense in the world. I will say that if things go right there will be one giant acquisition that should help the team enormously.
Don't forget, this team despite the countless injuries, won 100 games in 2018 and where eliminated from the playoffs by a team that won 108 games in 2018, defeated the YANKEES and then defeated the Houston Astros who won 103 games in 2018, and then went on to win the World Series easily trouncing the inferior league champion LA Dodgers.
Keep an eye on the hot stove and lets see what happens. I don't touch or go near the hot stove, what happens this winter is up to Brian Cashman, Hal Steinbrenner, and the Yankee hierarchy. Lets hope for the best and LETS GO YANKEES.

«Oldest ‹Older 1401 – 1575 of 1575I wonder if the stat frauds still want the Yankees to sign Dallas Keuchel.
Fred Slube.... remember, the stat frauds don't know baseball. They just react with ignorance and parrot what others of their ilk say.
Cessa may be the front runner in the starting pitcher competition. He has more MLB experience, and as they say, when the light bulb goes off a pitcher can turn the corner and become a new man who makes an impact for his career. When that is no one knows, but it does happen consistently. Maybe the light bulb goes off for Cessa first, maybe it doesn't.
Walt Belamy, you may be right on. In the long run, either or both German/Loaisiga may be better than Cessa. As you said, when the bulb goes off it changes everything.

These split squad games give a lot of players a chance to play at a very high level.
Andujar hasn't missed a beat this spring. He is just a natural with the bat.
The split squads pulled off a win and a tie today. Three HRs by the Yankees, all hit by the minor leaguers.
Off day tomorrow Yankee fans. Two and half weeks until 2019 opening day for the best team in baseball this upcoming season.
Tanaka has been named opening game starter.
Off day today. Loaisiga starting tomorrow night against the O's at 630PM.
Loaisiga, German, and Cessa battling for rotation starts. Cessa has the edge because he has no options left to be sent to the minors. But performance should be the determining factor.
If the hitters start the season hot for a month, that could carry the team until Louie Louie and CC are back and ready to roll.
The WIN METHOD WAR...wins always rule.
All hail the WIN METHOD WAR. Wins Always Rule.
The WIN METHOD WAR isn't a made up formula and doesn't contain any fake values. It is all real and fact.
Wins Always Rule, always have and always will. Until they change the rules and say the losing teams go to the playoffs.
Lets go Yankees.
When our young pitchers bloom and grow, then come of age, watch out....this team will be in several WS.
The gloom and doom stat frauds think Louie Louie's done for the season. The ARE idiots.
Lets take our time and get everyone well and then move on to the division crown.
Back in action tonight facing the Orioles. 630PM.
Louie Louie will likely stay in Tampa to recuperate and extend his spring training schedule when Yanks head north to open the season.
All teams will have injuries and roadblocks to overcome. Depth will be a key for most teams. The Yankees have the depth and talent.
Let the expert doctors do what they know and know better than any stat fraud how to put Louie Louie on the trail to mending and then to healthy pitching.
The pressure to produce is all on Cessa, German, and Loaisiga. Pressure makes or breaks people.

Opening day starting lineup but for Hicks instead of Gardner?
With the solid defense Andujar has played so far this spring, I can't wait until he makes his first bad play and the stat frauds go berserk displaying their utter ignorance for the world to see.
Saul Irving, LOL, you made my day.
Loaisiga getting hammered in first two innings.
Big come from behind win tonight and the minor leaguers play a big part. Bullpen allows just one run over seven innings after Loaisiga gives up six in the first two innings.
Yankees how the Phillies tonight in Tampa at 630PM. Tanaka set to start.
Tanaka is exactly on schedule to be opening day starter pitching every five days.
One thing I've noticed about the stat frauds is they consistently need a whipping boy to demean and deride. They go from one to another as to feed their delusional need to destroy.
Sad to say, Michael King's arm issue has put the kibosh on any chance to show his stuff to the Yankees this spring. He will start season at AAA Scranton.

I personally do not care where anyone bats in the lineup. What is the most important is any batter producing when it matters the most. That is why no player is worth 30 million dollars a year. EVER.
yankeelover, I agree. During a game you never know when opportunities arise, a walk, an error, and all of a sudden there is an opportunity. Who and how it is created you never know. But no question it can be anyone in the lineup that has that chance to produce.
There is certainly a lot of talent in the Yankee pipeline.

Five MLB position players followed by four minor league position players.
Two weeks from today is opening day for the Yankees for the 2019 season.
Two starting pitchers and the starting center fielder are out of action right now.
Cessa throws four scoreless innings in his start today against Toronto.
Another tie game today, 1-1.
Yankees host the sux tomorrow at 1 PM in Tampa and German is the listed starter. Will German step up and push Loaisiga down a notch.
Right now it appears Cessa is fourth starter and if German performs against the sux tomorrow he takes the fifth spot.
Michael King has begun throwing again. Not pitching just a little long throwing.
Watch for Clarke Schmidt also.
Will we see a Yankee full lineup today against the sux.

Torres not in lineup. LIkely, each day one guy will sit. I still say Voit and Bird should both be kept on the 25 man roster. Bird is the balanced lineup left handed bat.
It was reported today that Louie Louie will be out until May 1st with rotator cuff inflammation.
German throws a very strong four scoreless innings solidifying what should be a rotation spot to start the season. Yankee lineup battering the hapless bosux scoring ten runs in the first four innings.
After trouncing the sux today 14-1, the Yankees host the Blue Jays tomorrow in Tampa at 1 PM. J.A. Happ is the listed starting pitcher.
Yankees really looked good today. The young pitchers are in a word, phenomenal.
That stat frauds are still looking for the Yankees to sign another starting pitcher. What fools, the Yankees have better on their roster now and they don't cost anything.
Plus Montgomery, King, Schmidt, in the flow of talent.
Bloom and grow your own, don't pay for outhouse players.
Judge is having one heck of a spring. Really pounding the ball. Great defense.
Louie Louie out until May is no real surprise. The Yankees take their time with player injuries and if anything err on the side of caution. Rushing someone back early only exacerbates the issue and does not solve it. The Yankees and their doctors know what they are doing. They are the experts and the WIN METHOD fans know this. Clint Frazier has positively been given the chance to impress this spring, but he has fallen short.
Frazier has no where to go as a Yankee. Florial is already better than him. Let frazier excel in Scranton and then trade him.
Frazier may be lost in the forest of the giant trees he has to play with.
Yankee hitters pounding away again today. Big leaguers, minor leaguers, it makes no difference who is in the lineup.
In winning their last two games the Yankees have scored 31 runs.
Yankees play two games tomorrow, both on the road. One game with Orioles and Loaisiga is starting. The other game is with the Phillies with Paxton starting. Both at 1PM.
Loaisiga needs to make a statement tomorrow.
Week and a half to opening day for the 2019 season.
Yankees top prospect Estevan Florial will be sidelined for the beginning of this minor league season, having sustained a non-displaced right wrist fracture while crashing into the centerfield fence during the Yankees 17-7 Grapefruit League victory over the Blue Jays yesterday.
Some of the Yankee player injuries are likely because of being WIN METHOD players and going the extra mile in trying to help their team win.

More regulars in the lineup for this split squad game.
Loaisiga steps up with three shutout innings today.
Yankees split up 50 players and take on the Orioles and Phillies on the road. They win both games, defeating the Orioles 5-3 and the Phillies 7-3. The Yankee organization is deep and talented.
Not only 50 men, but no Louie Louie, CC, Hicks, Florial, Elsbury, etc. That's three guys on the 25 man roster, another on the 40 man roster and your top position prospect.
Also Paxton went 4 1/3 hitless innings today. Nice.
Yankees on the road again tomorrow to visit the Atlanta Brave complex in North Port Florida at their new stadium named Cool Today Park. Masahiro Tanaka is slated to start for the Yankees at 6:00 PM.
Pia, the Braves complex is brand new this year although the Braves have been training at North Port for over 60 years. Nice place for a game.
As good as the Yankees look, it as always comes down to the players producing when it counts that will make the difference. Lets go Yankees.
If everything goes to plan Tanaka starts today, Saturday, and opens the 2019 season on Thursday the 28th in Baltimore.
The Florial injury only stalls Florial's progress to bloom and grow through the minor league ladder. He wasn't going to be placed on the Yankee roster this season. Heal and then move up to AAA this year should be the goal.

Boone is giving many minor leaguers a lot of at bats this spring and many have really stepped up to the challenge. So much talent in the Yankee pipeline. With most of it supplied by WIN METHOD.
My wish for the rest of the Yankee season. No one else gets hurt but for a minor injury lasting just a game or two and those who are presently out come back without incident and contribute to a winning season.
Tanaka has gone five innings so far tonight. Has given up one run via a solo HR.

Frazier still getting chances and he is still failing.
Cessa can take another step forward today.
Yankees have signed Gio Gonzales to a minor league deal. He needs to perform big time and has little time to do so.
Cessa with four more scoreless innings today.
Dellin Betances will begin the season on the injured list because of a right shoulder impingement. Down goes another Yankee.
Frazier with another 0 fer game. Batting average down to .153.
Yankees travel to the Palm Beaches tomorrow to play the Houston Astros at 1 PM. Holder is the listed Yankee starter.
The stat frauds proclaiming Trout the best player in baseball and possibly the best player in the history of baseball solidifies the stat frauds as the idiots of baseball.
To be the best you have to win, that leaves Trout quite a bit short.
Come on now, look what Trout has done to help his team to the playoffs and beyond. Trout has seven full season in MLB, has helped lead his team to the playoffs just one time, got wiped out in the first round as he helped his team by getting one hit in twelve at bats. That is the kind of guy you want on the opposing team. I guess the stat frauds will do their thing and blame Trouts teammates.

Letting all poster know that this blog will refer to injured players as being on the disabled list, as it has always been called. We are not the filth of this nation who want to try to control how people speak and what they should say. To hell with in fake 'injured list'.
I don't see the logic of using relievers as openers for a game. There are nine innings in each game and 27 outs and you need to score at least one more run than your opponent in any game to win. Which inning pitchers pitch in to get those outs are irrelevant. Sound like another stat fraud idea.
Could Clint Frazier be washed up before he even has a career? Men on 2nd and 3rd and he has another no contact at bat striking out and looking terrible doing it.
Frazier has another bad game. 0 for 3, with 2 Ks, throw in poor defense including an error.
Yankees play Cardinals tomorrow and German is listed to start.

Getting to the point where the top minor leaguers finish their spring invite with the Yankees and head to their minor league teams. Great job by many.
German steps in the bucket again as he is getting hammered. Four runs in the first two innings.
To all the Mike Trout fanatic fanboys/girls out there, would you rather have your team in the playoffs every year for lets say eight years. Or would you rather have your team reach the playoffs just one time over eight years, but also have the highest stat fraud WAR player on your team.
The answer is the difference between individual players and WIN METHOD players.
The Yankees host the Phillies tomorrow night at 6:30PM in Tampa at GMS Stadium and Loaisiga is the starting pitcher. After Germans poor start today, Loaisiga can put himself back in the rotation picture with a strong start.
Nice to see the Yankees brought back to earth with a little dose of reality losing two consecutive games. One a 2-1 nail-biter and then womped 11-3.
will-i-am, the individual stat frauds only give lip service to wins and winning. They don't care if their "fake stars" win, they just drool over their numbers.
Just four more spring training games.
Likely to see the big lineup tomorrow.
Frazier 0 for 3 again today. BA down to .130. At the rate he is going he will be a black hole for AAA Scranton.
Six days until the Yankee 2019 baseball season opens at Yankee Stadium in New York City.
I will be tracking and posting the Yankees by 10 game sets again this season. 16 ten game sets. I am projection a second 100 win season.

Maybe Gio Gonzalez will surprise people. With an incentive laden contract he may want to try to prove what he can do and what more incentive is there than helping your team to the playoffs and beyond.
Winning the division has to be the primary goal, winning a hundred games can be the next goal.
It always comes down to wins and winning. Nothing else matters, there is no statistic of any kind, the basic original stats, the man made fake stats, none, that are more important than wins. Wins and winning are what defines who is best. No ifs, ands, or buts.
How dare anyone believe that winning is what determines the best. Losing is better than winning as long as you have the stats to prove it.\/\/\/just pulling your leg.
Cory, you don't use fake stats. You use wins. You are the best. Your posts speak the truth and with wisdom.

Yankees not traveling to today's game in Fort Myers are headed to DC now for tomorrow's final spring training game. All players who are on Yankee roster to start the season will leave from Fort Myers after today's game.
Paxton has gone five innings giving up 1 run. Wonder if he will come out for the sixth.
Here is what appears to be the Yankee roster plan to start the 2019 season.......
The Yankees appear to have finalized their Opening Day roster, with outfielder Mike Tauchman, who was acquired from the Rockies on Saturday, making the club over infielder/outfielder Tyler Wade, who was optioned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Sunday morning.
In announcing the acquisition of Tauchman for Minor League left-hander Phillip Diehl, manager Aaron Boone said that he saw the 28-year-old as being capable of playing all three outfield spots. Wade, a converted infielder, began playing the outfield during the Arizona Fall League in 2016.
Selecting between Tauchman and Wade for the final bench spot was the remaining decision for Boone and his staff, assuming that Stephen Tarpley will have a bullpen spot following a terrific Spring Training that saw the left-hander win the James P. Dawson Award as the club's top rookie in camp.
The rotation projects to feature Masahiro Tanaka, James Paxton, J.A. Happ and Domingo German in that order, with CC Sabathia also being carried until his five-game suspension expires.
At that point, the Yankees plan to recall Jonathan Loaisiga from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and place Sabathia on the injured list, with the veteran aiming for a late April return to the Majors.
Sabathia on Minors start
Sabathia on Minors start
00:58
Mar. 21st, 2019
Behind closer Aroldis Chapman, the bullpen will be comprised of Zack Britton, Luis Cessa, Chad Green, Jonathan Holder, Tommy Kahnle, Adam Ottavino and Tarpley.
New York will carry catchers Gary Sanchez and Austin Romine, plus infielders Miguel Andujar, Greg Bird, DJ LeMahieu, Gleyber Torres, Troy Tulowitzki and Luke Voit. Brett Gardner, Aaron Judge, Giancarlo Stanton and Tauchman are the active outfielders.
The injured list will be populated by right-handers Dellin Betances (right shoulder impingement) and Luis Severino (right shoulder inflammation), outfielder Jacoby Ellsbury (recovery from left hip surgery), shortstop Didi Gregorius (recovery from Tommy John surgery), right-hander Ben Heller (recovery from Tommy John surgery) and outfielder Aaron Hicks (chronic back pain).
Left-hander Jordan Montgomery (recovery from Tommy John surgery) was placed on the 60-day injured list Saturday to create a 40-man roster spot for Tauchman. Montgomery is aiming for an August return to the big leagues.
The Yankees won today. Yes Paxton was the starter and went 5 2/3 innings. But, think of the game this way, Yankee 25 man roster players who weren't even in the ballpark, Hicks, Gardner. Stanton, Judge, Sanchez, Torres, LeMahieu, Tulowitzki, Andujar, Tanaka, Louie Louie, CC, Happ, Betances, Chapman, Tarpley, Khanle, German, Loaisiga, Green. That is 20 of the 25 man team. Also the new guy form the Rockies, Tauchman.
The Yankees have the best record in baseball this spring (which means nothing), but they did it with 2/3 of the playing time played by minor leaguers and many low minor leaguers. Other teams did also, but our guys were very impressive.
Will Boone go with all the big guys in the last spring game tomorrow night? I wouldn't think they would fly the minor leaguers to DC for just the one game. All the regulars tomorrow.
For 2019 we know we can. And we will.
We will overcome all roadblocks. Yes we will. LETS GO YANKEES, LETS GO.
Nestor Cortes starts the Yankees final spring training game tonight at 5PM in Washington DC against the Nationals.
It looks like the Yankees have brought at least one minor leaguer north to play in the last spring training game with Cortes starting. Lets see who's in the lineup tonight and who else pitches.
I see in his first game after knowing he was going to AAA, frazier got a big hit yesterday. A day late and a dollar short gets you nowhere and nothing.
Best record in spring training. CC and Louie Louie never pitched in a game. The sky is the limit.
The best part of this off season was not signing Machado or Harper. This team will excel for the next decade without either of those albatross contracts and play for themself players contaminating the young Yankee future.
