WIN METHOD - HOT STOVE - 2021 - 2022 The world's best internet Yankee site for baseball talk.

It's been a long time between blog posts and I have a lot to say, so hang on fans.

This is going to be a long off season waiting for baseball to resume in 2022.  There are so many questions.  How long will the owner/player collective bargaining take?  Could there be a delay to the start of the 2022 season?  What rule changes will be implemented or restored?  Will there be a designated hitter in the National League?  Sticky stuff agreement?  Dead ball or juiced ball?  New commissioner or does the dolt imbecile Manfred stay?  Will Hal Steinbrenner spend and try to build the Yankees?  Who will the YANKEES get rid of by hook or crook, deal or dump?  Will the top minor leaguers be given a chance to play on the big stage if any prove themselves in spring training or continue to be held back?  Will manager Aaron Boone ever say a negative about anyone who doesn't go all out?  who always swings from the heals?  who does not hit against the shift when it is right there in front of them?  passed balls?  dumb  base running?  constant misplays?  not hitting behind runners?  watching their batted balls that could be doubles or triples turn into singles because they did not run hard?  and my pet peeve, failure to score runners from third base with less than two outs?

I would like to congratulate the WORLD CHAMPION Atlanta Braves for winning the 2021 World Series.  The Braves are the best team in baseball and their players are the best in baseball for what they accomplished in winning the World Series.  Each year, as always, only the best team and the best players win the World Series.  This is irrefutable no matter what the stat frauds would like you to believe.   No individual stat or combination of stats overshadows why baseball is played...it is to win games.  Baseball has set rules as to how teams qualify for the playoffs, right now it is ten teams based on winning and wins.  Nothing else matters.  Advancement through the playoffs is based on wins and winning.  Nothing else matters.  The best team and players are the last one winning the final series of the season, the World Series.  Nothing else matters.  Do not believe the words, excuses, denials, and lies from the stat frauds.  Nothing is more important than wins and winning.  The following paragraphs discusses wins and winning,

It is amazing how you can define almost every game by production when it matters most. Production when it matters most wins games and winning games is the desired result you want from the players on your team. The players who are more interested in their individual stats and value them more than the team winning are the players you do not want on your team.

That is how the WIN METHOD values players. Each year players are valued on how far they help lead their team. One, the ten teams who make the playoffs. Two, how far the players lead their team into the playoffs. Third the players who reach the World Series and win the World Series.

The ten teams that reach the playoffs have reached the highest level of competition by eliminating two/thirds of the other teams. Now the best are playing only the best for a very short timeframe. That is when produce when it matters most reaches its highest level.
Each series a team is eliminated until you reach the final two teams, the best of the best.

Voila, you have the WIN METHOD, undeniably the best player evaluation tool in the world. No made up convolute man made fake and useless formulas. No exit velocity, no how far a ball is hit, no how much nor how many and individual reached. No fake ERA's. WINS is all the matters and WINS and winning is the only stat that determines the best in the game.

Why do stat frauds hate, bemoan, demean, and deny the WIN METHOD?  Stat frauds live by individual statistics.  Their best players are only the best based on their numbers.  They do not care if their high individual stat players do not help their team make the playoff, the stat frauds just blame the other players on the team.   However when the players with lesser individual stats lead their team to the playoffs and beyond and even win the World Series the stat frauds do not recognize them as the best.  I guess the stat frauds players who produce most when it matters most is just dumb luck.  In my opinion stat frauds and the word dumb are synonyms.

Why haven't the YANKEES made the playoffs since MR. S. passed away?  There is only one answer.  The answer is the person running the team, Hal Steinbrenner.  There have been many opinions expressed all through the sports media and other sources regarding Hal's operating priorities, his direction, his wisdom, and more.  No one knows for sure and all are just guessing.  But, whatever Hal is doing, it appears it needs to change direction and it needs to change to a positive direction.  In my opinion, I believe much of the problem is the analytics being used.  Numbers and stat sheets do not win games, players on the field playing baseball for the team to succeed wins games.

Here is a fact for all baseball fans to think about.  Since the inception of the WIN METHOD the YANKEES have had the best record in baseball.  The most wins and least losses than any other team in either league despite the present owner and his decisions.  His father gave him a golden goose and he is turning it into a tarnished golden goose.  Time for some polish and elbow grease Hal.

So, now we watch and wait to see what the YANKEES do this hot stove season.  It is up to them, nothing any fan or pundit says or thinks makes a difference.  I feel I have done my part in advising on WIN METHOD players.  Not everyone chosen and or signed by the YANKEES is WIN METHOD.  I can do nothing about that, I do not coach nor manage nor run the team.   Mr. S. was a strong and staunch believer in the WIN METHOD since its live inception.  The success of the YANKEE team from the WIN METHOD inception until the death of Mr. S. was extraordinary.  Hal Steinbrenner is not his father and that alone may be the biggest issue why the YANKEES haven't reached the WORLD SERIES for far too long now.  Let's see what happens in 2022.  We can only hope things change for the positive..

LET'S GO YANKEES

After coming from 3-0 down and tying the game at 3, the Yankees give up 3 more runs to fall behind 6-3, then score 1 in the eighth and trail 6-4 after 8.

Final. Yankees lose 6-4. Cole gives up 3 runs in 5 2/3 innings. Torres, Judge, and Rizzo hit home runs. But, the Yankees lost and that is all that matters. Higgy and Torres with sloppy defense also.

Louie Louie will start tomorrow's final game of the four game series with the Blue Jays. Yankees need a win to split the series.

Louie Louie comes up looking like an 'ace' tonight going five excellent shutout innings and leaves game leading 2-0.

Final. Yankees win 3-0. IKF and Trevino the offense for the win. Louie Louie five shutout innings and bullpen four shutout innings thanks to King who had to come in to save the game. Chapman started the ninth inning up by 3 runs and walked the three batters he faced. King came in with the bases loaded and the top of the Blue Jay lineup due up. King K'd Springer, and then go Bichette to hit a soft looper to second base that was caught and turned into a double play as the Jay runner at first thinking it would be a hit never made it back to first base. Never a dull moment. So the Yankees split the four game series with the Jays.

Tony Manchu said...

Yanks win 3-0. Split series and start the season 4-3 playing the sux and Blue Jays. Louie Louie looked so good and earned the win. Chapman pitching the 9th walked the first three batters putting the lead and game in peril. Boone brought in Michael King who immediately got a strikeout and double play to end the game. All King did was throw strikes unlike Chapman who looked terrible.

Yankees travel to Baltimore for three games this Easter weekend. Monty, Taillon, and Cortes are the Yankee starters. Happy Easter!

Steve(winstheonlystat} said...

3-0 win last night. An ideal game to illustrate production when it mattered most to win the game. Trevino two RBI singles for the Yankee 2-0 lead. Judge lead off 8th inning with a double. Now the production getting Judge to score the 3rd Yankee run. Rizzo pulls a ground ball to the right side and Judge goes to third base. It is called moving the runner, for you stat frauds who know little to nothing about baseball. Stanton then hits a ground ball and Judge scores the third run. So two ground ball outs after a double mean a run.
Now the biggest production when it matters most. One side succeeds and wins the game, the other side fails and loses the game. Toronto loads the bases with no outs in the 9th inning and had the top of the lineup coming up. King comes in to pitch for the Yankees. King strikes out Springer and then gets Bichette on a looping softly hit ball that is turned into a double play as the runner at first bases gets doubled off to end the game. When it matters most, the Yankees produce and win.

Happy Easter. Chocolate for everyone.

Good job Steve(winstheonlystat), production when it matters most is almost always paramount in close games. What is most interesting is that so many games are determined by loser paid players and so few by the highest paid players who do not help their team win.

Torres has gone hitless in last four games, he is also poor defensively, yet he keeps getting playing time. Something is surely screwed up with the Yankee decision making.

sid greenberg,nyc said...

Going 5-5 in the first ten game series is not that bad considering the Yankees played seven games with the Jays and sux. Things went sour when they lost 2 of 3 to the Orioles. The teams mind set, is not where it should be. The blame for that is how the organization is being run starting from ownership, the useless analytical numbers jerk, how the game should be played on the field, and the players themselves.

MAWRY said...

Norm Jackson, in regards to Torres, I intensely dislike his game. He is probably my least favorite Yankee. Screws himself into the ground overswinging, makes the same mistakes in the field over and over and over. If he never played another game for the Yankees, that would be just peachy with me.

Victor Grandozi said...

Yankees up 3-2 after two innings, BUT, Cole can't complete 2nd inning and goes 1 2/3 innings, allowing 2 runs while walking 5 men. Cole walked the 7,8,&9 batters who came into the game batting .087, .133, and .000. He threw 68 pitches to get two outs. I have been a baseball fan for a very long time, and this is got to be one of the worst five outings I have ever seen.

John Hartnett said...

Hicks and Judge were both called out on third strikes and both pitches were shown to have been out of the strike zone. Umpires cannot call pitches accurately when they are not standing directly behind home plate. All umpires are taught to stand behind the inside edge of home plate depending on the batter. Doing that makes it only a guessing game to accurately call a pitch on the edge of the plate away from you.

John Hartnett said...

Stanton called out on strikes on pitch that missed plate to lead off second inning. Three Yankee batters called out on strikes in first two innings and all were wrong calls.

I would like to present some yes or no questions for every reader to answer for themselves and reflect upon what is happening in and to the USA and we the people of this country since the joe-bama/commie MALADY administration has taken over from January 2021 to present.

1. Has real inflation (not the fake made up number) of anywhere from 17% to 23% been good for you?
2. Was the way the USA left Afghanistan, losing the lives of American soldiers, American citizens, and the leaving behind of American citizens and American allies to be tortured and murdered by the Taliban regime, while also leaving countless millions of dollars of military equipment behind good and the right thing to do?
3. Is the teaching of children in our schools CRT, deviant sexuality, radical left wing progressive policies good and the right thing to do?
4. Has the opening of the southern border of the USA allowing hundreds of thousands Covid carrying illegal criminals to enter the USA and travel wherever they want, allowing illegal drugs that kill hundreds of American people every day to come into the USA, allowing convicted murderers, rapists, child predators, and robbers into the USA, with the American people paying for it all with our tax dollars good and the right thing to do?
5. Has the destruction of left wing democrat cities by burning, robbing, murders, in broad daylight and the criminals perpetrating the crimes being set free almost immediately after the crime is committed good and the right thing to do?
6. Are the prices we have to pay for natural gas, electricity, or other types of fuel to heat and cool our homes, the price we have to pay for gasoline to travel to work, visit family, go to the doctor, grocery store, etc., because the administration shut down America's fuel independence on their first day in office, good and the right thing to do?
7. Was the forcing of we the people to wear masks (that it has been proven do not work) and not allowing each individual to make their own free choice been good and the right thing to do?

If your choice was NO on likely all these points, then please remember to VOTE in all the upcoming elections of any kind you are eligible to vote in up to and including the November midterm elections, and VOTE ONLY FOR CONSERVATIVE REPUBLICANS. We much cleanse the country of the corrupt foul stench of the democrat, liberal, radical, leftwing, progressive, communists, Making America Last Again Destroy You (MALADY) and remove them from office and power of any kind. VOTE ONLY FOR CONSERVATIVE REPUBLICANS.

Worse of all, the Yankees three times failed to score a runner from third base with less than two outs. The game was a 1-0 game and a great one run seven inning start from Monty was wasted. Failure when it mattered most permeated the Yankee effort today.

MAGA2022, you could have listed Ukraine also. What is happening in Ukraine now is a direct result of a corrupt election and Joe Biden taking office. His administration, so aptly described here as the joe-bama/commie MALADY administration is doing all it can to destroy America and the American people. They must be stopped.

I will vote for Trump endorsed candidates foremost, then conservative, then conservative republican, then republican. We must take the house, the senate, and hamstring the demented piece of garbage in the living in the White House now.

Yankee batters are not taking what is given to them by the opponent. Yankee batters are pull and power happy, swing to try to kill every pitch and therefore fooled constantly by off speed pitches, pitches that are not strikes, and poor pitch recognition. Every batter should hit the ball to the opposite field when an over shift is used against them. When four outfielders are used against them, they must hit the ball on the ground. The Yankee batters are either dumb, not willing to help the team by getting on base, or being ordered to swing away and lose.

Yankees win 4-1. Took the lead and never looked back. But it was the pitching that won the game big time. You don't lose many games when your pitchers only give up one run.

A win is always a good thing, but this game was a nice game to watch. Taillon kept us in it, with some strong when it mattered most pitching.

9. Kyle Higashioka (R) C

Lets make it two and win this series. About time for some Gallo wine.

Final. Yankees win 5-4. A thrilling game with many produce when it matters most hits. Cleveland took a 2-0 lead in the 5th on a two run HR. The only hit Cortes gave up over 6 1/3 great innings. Bottom of 5th Yanks tie game on an RBI double from IKF and a sac fly RBI from Higgy. Yanks take 3-2 lead in 7th on HR from Donaldson. The bad and Yankee flop of the game. Green gives up two run HR in 8th putting Yankees down 4-3. Bottom of 9th, Donaldson walk, Locastro pinch runs, and steals second base. With two out IKF doubles off the left field wall to tie game. Torres pinch hits and wins game with an RBI single. WHEN IT MATTERS is what wins games. WIN METHOD is baseball's authority and baseball's definitive evaluation tool. Yankee take series with a chance for a sweep with Cole starting tomorrow. So far this season Cole has been the failure of the pitching staff.

will-i-am, yes it was another great game to watch. Two nice wins against a pretty good team.

Steve(winstheonlystat) said...

Isiah Kiner-Falefa has turned the New York corner and is looking even better than expected. Very good defensively and very good offensively and has shown to be a produce when it matters most bat. Cashman comes up with a gem for nothing of value.

It would be a gigantic help to the team and pitching staff if old king Cole woke up from the unproductive funk he is in.

Final. Yankees win 10-2. Cole looked good for first time this season. Everyone contributed as bats were alive. Even Gallo got first RBI with line double to right. Just an all around good game to build on. Win made it a three game sweep of the Indian. If you don't like the name Indians, YOU are the problem. Off day tomorrow.

Jason Pascome, I believe the MIT guy was trying to make a point in the video. People on both sides praised or demeaned the video. The fact to take away from the video is that algorithms can be used to change the actual result on any vote counting unit. If you not the recommendations from the video, number one was in person valid and provable voting only. I would go one step further, live in person fingerprint voting only.

Final. Yankees win 12-8. A crazy game. From a 6-0 lead after five innings with Louie Louie pitching a no hitter and allowing only one walk, to a final wild slugfest last four innings. Rizzo the hitting star with 2 HR's and 6 RBI's. Louie Louie did give up 4 runs in the 6th and 7th innings. Luetge and Loaisiga both pitched poorly in relief. By now everyone has likely heard that Elon Musk has bought Twitter, the radical left wing controlled social network. Twitter was controlling what was allowed to be posted on their platform. Twitter prioritized radical democrat, liberal, progressive views, and supported deviant lifestyles in many areas. While at the same time, Twitter banned posters and views that opposed their views and views that were more in tune with the best of America and the American people.

Elon Musk says he is a libertarian. Musk says he believes in free speech, and everyone should have the right to be heard. Musk said he will change the way Twitter has been run, and will allow all sides of any story, news, opinions, to be heard.

When Musk said what he wanted to do, the democrat radical left-wing liberals and progressives had a meltdown, went berserk, and did to Musk what they do to everyone who supports freedom and equality for all people, they demeaned him, called him a racist, and cried about it. Let's see what happens and how Musk handles his new company.

I brought this up because there are upcoming primary elections and then elections for many offices throughout America coming this year. A wave of Americans who believe in America and want to make America great again seems to be sweeping across the country. Sensible, common-sense Americans are looking to make changes in government and who will be in charge. We all can help and be part of a major change for the better. We must wipe out and remove the democrats, liberals, progressives, communists, antifa, blm, islamic terrorists, and radical left wingers out of every office of any kind in every town, city, county, and state across America.
