Hello WIN METHOD Yankee fans, the smartest baseball fans on the face of the earth. It has been a long time since I last blog posted. However, there have been comments within the blog from me. So here we go for 2021.
First, the Yankees will be in the playoffs again this season, but they also will play in the World Series. In talking with players, they are not happy with what they have achieved the past few seasons. They feel they have something to prove and want to do it now. Most of the players have undertaken a new or modified training program instituted by the training staff. Look for less injuries and less severe injuries this season. That will be a step forward and a plus for the team as a whole.
Second, Corey Kluber and Jameson Taillon both feel very optimistic with what each will contribute to the Yankees success this season. Both players believe their injuries are behind them. As of now, the Yankee starting rotation looks like it will have four men in the first four spots right now. Cole, Kluber, Taillon, and Montgomery. The fifth spot will be determined in March. The guys who do not make the fifth spot will either be sent to AAA Scranton or long relievers on the big team. Then the big guy Louie Louie Severino will make his return to the Bronx in June. The pitching staff looks solid and has many fall back arms to rely on. The bullpen remains solid and strong, also with several young arms looking to make an impact.
Third, the lineup will be solid again, more important, will be healthier. Runs will be put on the board. The biggest question mark will be at catcher. Catcher Gary Sanchez has been a black hole in the Yankee lineup recently, ala afraud in the past. Gary Sanchez is being mentored and talked to by coaches and trainers. Sanchez feels it is helping him, As the season starts, we will all see if it has. Sanchez himself is the only person who can really make it happen. It is up to him. A big WIN METHOD season from Sanchez would be a big help to the lineup and the team. If he does what he has been doing the last couple of seasons, Gary's days could be short lived.
As you all know I always read all posts by all of you who post here. Looking at the numbers of views recorded on the WIN METHOD blog there are also an enormous number of fans who read the blog consistently. You fans will take this blog, the number one Yankee baseball blog in the world over the one billion mark somewhere around June 1st this year. You are the people who take this blog in the direction you want it to go on a daily, weekly, monthly, or whatever time frame basis. This past year, we saw a very shortened baseball season, we saw a disgusting Chinese created virus, spread throughout the world by the most foul Chinese government, killing millions of people from all countries across the globe. We had a presidential election here in America. The election was the most corrupt election in the history of America stolen by the most corrupt politicians in America's history. We now have the most corrupt politicians in America's history running our country. They will do their best to destroy America. Hopefully, you the people will do whatever you need to do to stop the destruction.
It is now back to baseball and a great Yankee season. Thank all of you for reading and posting your views and opinions in this blog. You are the people who have made the WIN METHOD blog the best and greatest Yankee baseball blog, forum, or site in the world. We here are WIN METHOD will continue to have no signups, no ask for no personal information from you, no advertisements, and no bans of anyone. You, your views, and your opinions do not get canceled here. Unlike big tech, other baseball forums or sites which control you by banning or canceling you, here, that will never happen.
One more thing before I conclude. I would like to recognize the life and pay my respects to RUSH HUDSON LIMBAUGH III who passed away February 17th. Rush was the greatest radio and political commentator of all time. Rush's radio career spanned over thirty years. Rush's show was three hours a day, five days week, fifty-two weeks a year. Rush was right 99.8% of the time and one of the finest American patriots who believed in freedom and pursuit of happiness of every single American. Rest in peace, you will never be forgotten.
It is baseball time again. Lets look forward to a great season and as always LETS GO YANKEES.

«Oldest ‹Older 1601 – 1800 of 2766 Newer› Newest»Guy Padikian, I understand what you are saying about the lineup construction for today's game. Under no circumstances should Rizzo be leading off with who's in the lineup. However, everyone on the team needs to contribute, hopefully when it matters most, and in a positive way. I can see different guys playing at certain times. That is the managers job, to decide who and when. A win needs to be the outcome, because if the Yankees lose Boone must bear some responsibility.
Yankees down 1-0 after 3.
Guy's, the manager does not play. No matter who is in the lineup, it is incumbent on the player{s} to produce when it matters. You never know until the opportunity develops which player{s} will get the opportunity.
Gallo opens 7th with a double, Sanchez, Odor, Torres all fail when it counted. Yanks still down 1-0.
Marlin error in eighth opens door for Rizzo and Judge RBI singles giving Yankees 2-1 lead mid eighth. Need to hold on and close it out.
Marlin errors give Yankees another run in 9th for 3-1 lead. Chapman coming in for the save try.
Chapman gets it done. Yankees sweep Marlins and head home on the rise. Rizzo when it counts all three games has been a gem. Utter WIN METHOD player.
Final. Yankees win 3-1. Sweep three game series. Rizzo and Judge game tying and winning rbi's when it mattered most to win game.
How nice it would be if Sanchez and Torres would take the approach of Rizzo when hitting and running. That would mean they would have to play for the team to win.
I guess Rizzo batting leadoff came up at the right time for Boone's lineup and deliver the game tying single when it mattered big time. Boone is a genius.
German placed on the DL with minor shoulder inflammation. Heaney, who Yanks obtained from Angels will move into rotation and start tomorrow night at Stadium against Orioles.
Sanchez has not looked good hitting last few games. Hope he doesn't regress. He need to be a force and not an easy out.
Let's not forget who started the 8th inning come from behind win, old reliable Bret Gardner, followed by help from his friends.
I can't wait until we have everyone on the team able to play.
Just have to keep winning. Only winning and wins will get a team into the playoffs.
German hadn't pitched in two years. His shoulder inflammation could be expected. Hope it isn't anything worse.
Anthony Rizzo will get one heck of a standing ovation tonight in game one of a three game series with the Orioles.
My lineup against right handed starter.
1 LeMahieu 2b
2 Judge rf
3 Rizzo 1b
4 Stanton dh
5 Gallo lf
6 Urshela 3b
7 Gardner cf
8 Sanchez c
9 Torres ss
Nice left/right balance. Hard for any opposing pitcher to navigate.
This morning, I realized that everything is about to change. No matter how I vote, no matter what I say, lives are never going to be the same.
I have been confused by the hostility of family and friends. I look at people I have known all my life so hate-filled that they agree with opinions they would never express as their own. I think that I may well have entered the Twilight Zone.
You can't justify this insanity. We have become a nation that has lost its collective mind. We see other countries going Socialist and collapsing, but it seems like a great plan to us.
Somehow, it’s un-American for the census to count how many Americans are in America.
People who say there is no such thing as gender are demanding a female President.
Universities that advocate equality, discriminate against Asian-Americans in favor of African-Americans.
Some people are held responsible for things that happened before they were born, and other people are not held responsible for what they are doing right now.
Criminals are caught-and-released to hurt more people but stopping them is bad because it's a violation of THEIR rights.
People who have never owned slaves should pay slavery reparations to people who have never been slaves.
After legislating gender, if a dude pretends to be a woman, you are required to pretend with him.
People who have never been to college should pay the debts of college students who took out huge loans for their degrees.
Immigrants with tuberculosis and polio are welcome, but you’d better be able to prove your dog is vaccinated.
Irish doctors and German engineers who want to immigrate to the US must go through a rigorous vetting process, but any illiterate gangbangers who jump the southern fence are welcomed.
$5 billion for border security is too expensive, but $1.5 trillion for “free” health care is not. (Note: If math is not your gift, it takes 300 piles of $5 Billion each to make $1.5 trillion)
If you cheat to get into college you go to prison, but if you cheat to get into the country you go to college for free.
And, pointing out all this hypocrisy somehow makes us "racists"!
Nothing makes sense anymore, no values, no morals, no civility, and people are dying of a Chinese virus, but it is racist to refer to it as Chinese even though it began in China .
We are clearly living in an upside-down world where right is wrong and wrong is right, where moral is immoral and immoral is moral, where good is evil and evil is good, where killing murderers is wrong, but killing innocent babies is right.
Wake up America . The great unsinkable ship Titanic America has hit an iceberg, is taking on water and sinking fast.
Lord help us!

2. Anthony Rizzo (L) 1B
3. Aaron Judge (R) DH
4. Joey Gallo (L) LF
5. Giancarlo Stanton (R) RF
6. Rougned Odor (L) 3B
7. Gary Sanchez (R) C
8. Gleyber Torres (R) SS
9. Brett Gardner (L) CF
Nice looking lineup. The swing for the fences bobsey twins batting 7-8. Odor at 3B tonight.
We every series and all will be fine. Lets go Yankees.
Dave Ramsey, that was beautiful. Wake up America. Vote Trump republicans and never vote for anyone else. Bury the democrats, liberals, progressives, communists, and rhino republicans.
Hope Heaney is up to performing when it counts under the brightest lights and on the biggest stage.
Heaney fails and looks to be a batting practice pitcher. Still pitching in the fourth inning he has given up four home runs and has the Yankees in the hole 4-0. No bueno.
Four innings complete. Heaney shows nothing. Yankees do not have a hit. Yankees trail 4-0.
Opportunity wasted. Yanks down 7-1 thru 8. Have just 2 hits and scored lone run without a hit.
Final. Yankees lose 7-1. Heaney shows nothing taking the loss. The only Yankee who came to play tonight was veteran Bret Gardner who reached base in all four plate appearances, three walks and a single. Yanks lose a great chance to move forward in the playoff chase as both Tampa and Toronto lost tonight.
Cole scheduled to start tomorrows game with O's, will not, he tested positive for covid. Likely Cortes will now start game two and the Yankees bats need to show up and put up some runs.
We lost last night to a last place team whose starting pitcher was 2-12 and we were dominated. Why?
Many decades ago the Yankees had no problem with bringing up their hottest minor league starter and letting him pitch in August and September. Got great results also. Just do it. It has to be better than throwing proven losers out there.
sid greenberg,nyc.......You nailed it. The Yankees have called up youngster Luis Gil to start tonights game against the Orioles. For the Yankees all games are big for the rest of the season, but this one is magnified. sid, your post is why I come here. The insight and knowledge abound, and from so many people young and old.

Gil up from minors making MLB debut. Gardner who got on base all four times last night not in lineup. Must win.
sid greenberg, nyc, great post. You have seen so much and your posts are brilliant. Thank you for your contributions to the greatest Yankee baseball blog in the world.
OK guys, support your pitcher and score multiple innings with crooked numbers. We have to win, nothing else matters.
So far so good. Gill great over first three innings and Yankee bats wake up. Lead 6-0 after three.
Luis Gil in his first MLB appearance goes six strong innings allowing 0 runs, 4 hits (all singles), 1 walk, and 6 strikeouts. Gil will earn the win as he leaves game leading 9-0.
Final. Yankees win 13-1. Gil debut very good. Goes six shutout innings for the win. Bats supported Gil and took pressure off of him. Only downer were the meaningless runs the Yankees added on.
An easy comfortable win tonight, but it will mean little unless we win tomorrow and take the series.
More Yankee bad news, Montgomery diagnosed with Covid also.
Taillon to start tomorrows rubber game.
Play on.
Louis Louis will have a rehab start with a Yankee minor league team this week. The Yankee team is hanging by a string.
Taillon starts tonights game. Then we have four games with Seattle Thursday thru Sunday.
Cortes will go in one and Gil will go Sunday. Who will start the other two. German, Cole, and Monty are out. Deivi call up? Heaney ugh?
Todays Yankee Lineup

9. Brett Gardner (L) CF
Sanchez day off. We need to win to take this series.
Yanks down 3-2 after 4.
Yankees with five in 7th take 8-3 coming back from a 3-0 deficit.
Aaron Judge tonight in the 7th and 8th innings came to bat with a runner on third base and one out. In the 7th he struck out failing to bring the runner home, in the eighth inning he popped up to the second baseman failing to bring the runner home. Yet, yesterday in the 8th inning and the Yankees leading 12-1 he delivered a meaning when it doesn't matter home run to make the score 13-1. Not WIN METHOD at all.
Final. Yankees win 10-3. Taillon left game in 7th with one out in a 3-3 game doing his job. The Yankees scored five times in the 7th and added 2 more in the 8th for the win and the series.
Next up for the Yankees will be the Seattle Mariners who the Yankees will host for a four game series Thursday thru Sunday. The Yankees will not be able to start any of their original starters or backups. Looks like Cortes tomorrow, no one named yet for Friday, Heaney on Saturday and Gil on Sunday. A split of the series would be acceptable and winning the series would be big.
The Yankees need the bats to do what they have done these past two games over the next four. The bullpen will be a big factor also.
Gallo has been disappointing so far. One of these days, hopefully soon, like this entire weekend, his bat will show up and help the Yankees. Stay the course guys, keep winning.
Seattle is also a viable playoff contender and this series will not be a cakewalk.

Why the heck isn't Voit on the roster and playing. Voit at 1b and Gallo in cf. Why is Davis even on the team. What is going on?
Gary Sanchez out of lineup due to testing positive with the Chinese created Covid virus.
The Chinese and the joe-bama/commie MALADY administration = 👎
Gallo three run home run in seventh puts Yanks on top 5-3 after seven.
Final. Yankees win 5-3. Cortes goes five allowing two runs and keeps us in the game. Gallo three run home run the game winner. Chapman struggles mightily in ninth but ekes out the save with the final out coming with two men on and a fly ball to the warning track in left center.
The Yankees have listed Wandy Peralta to start tomorrow night's game. All I can ask for is exactly what Cortes did tonight or better. Just keep the team in the game and hope the bats produce enough to earn the win.
Oh my stat frauds, Gallo's 3 run HR last night barely traveled 320 feet with an exit velocity of abut 90 mph, but it counted just as much as any other 450 foot 110+ mph HR this season.
Here is a news release on Gallo's home run last night. Reading it tells all you need to know about 'fake news' out and out lies, misinformation, dumb stat frauds, and dumbed down baseball fans in general.
----------- ""NEW YORK -- Joey Gallo turned his head skyward and watched the arc of the ball as it left his bat and sailed into the horizon of the dark, starless night. It went up, and up, and up, and when it finally came down, it landed in the first row of the right-field bleachers at Yankee Stadium -- just past the outstretched glove of the Mariners’ Mitch Haniger."" -----------
Fact(s)...Gallo got under a pitch and popped it up just far enough to be a home run in the only MLB park in America. It landed high in the second row where a man wearing a baseball reaching way over his head caught the ball. The ball was not hit into the right field bleachers, it was hit down the right field line close to the foul pole. The ball did not sail into the dark horizon nor a starless night. finally the Mariners Mitch Haniger had no chance in hell of catching the ball. The home run counted as much as any other home run hit in MLB this season although it may be one of the very shortest hit home runs.
yankeedoodledandy, great post. What you posted is what is happening across America. Most of the news media is corrupt, most of the education system is corrupt, big tech run by multi-millionaires and billionaires is corrupt, and all too many politicians of every ilk is corrupt. Too many American citizens don't know, care, of are too ignorant to understand that they are in big trouble.

If Peralta can come close to matching Cortes and the Yankee bats produce often when it matters most it could mean a Yankee win. Keep it up guys. Remember and play WIN METHOD baseball.
From what is being said about Rizzo, he is very WIN METHOD oriented and always has been, maybe he can wake up some Yankee swing from the heels dingbats.
Scoreless after three.
0-0 after 4.
Yanks down 1-0 after 6.
Yankees behind 1-0 thru 6. Only have two hits and have looked terrible at the plate.
Bases loaded no outs, Yanks only score one run on Judge sac fly, then Stanton grounds into double play. 1-1 game going to the ninth.
Little league extra innings tied at one.
Yankee veteran, mister reliable Bret Gardner lines a single to center for a walk off Yankee 3-2 win in eleventh inning.
Theeeeeeeeeeeee Yankeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees Winnnnnnnnnnnn. Gardner with a RBI single in 11th inning for the win.
Final. Yankees win 3-2 in eleventh inning on Gardner rbi single for the walk-off win. Yankee use nine pitchers for the win. A true bullpen game. Yankee bats anemic but pull off the win coming from behind twice.
Heaney starts tomorrow. Will he get hammered like he did in his first Yankee start or will he give us a chance by keeping us in the game?
Wouldn't it be nice for the Yankee lineup to carry the pitching staff for a week or two right now.
You know Brantley will start Saturday game at catcher..Higgy has to be burnt up after catching 11 innings for 4 1/2 hours.
Four game weekend series with Mariners and we have won the first two games. Both come from behind wins with one a walk-off win. With one of the next two and it will be a great series, win both and it will be a supercalifragilisticexpialidocious series.

Six lefthanded bats lineup. At the start of the season we didn't have six lefthanded hitters on the team. Would really love to win this game today. Can Heaney give us a chance? Yes we can and yes we will.
You never know, long shots do win every once in awhile. And favorites lose two thirds of the time. Giddy up!
Chapman has been placed on the DL with inflammation in his elbow. Wow, if the Yankee even make the playoffs this season it may have to down as the greatest season of a GM/Manager combo of all time.
Heaney has given up more runs in one inning than any of the nine pitchers the Yankees used last night who all pitched one inning or more. Baseball is the greatest game in the world.
Heaney can no longer be an option to pitch in a Yankee uniform in my opinion. He looks awful. Has very little command, very little control, and very little to no quality pitches, BUT, he does no how to hit the barrel of the hitters bat.
Yankees down 4-1 after five. Heaney settled down after giving up 4 runs in first two innings. Yankees have had a couple of chances but have not produced when it counted. Game could easily be much closer.
Heaney goes six inning and keeps Yankees in game. So in bottom of sixth Odor with a 2 run home run cut Mariner lead to 4-3, then Higashioka pinch hit double ties game at 4. Rizzo hits into a rundown double play and Higashioka scores for a 5-4 lead.
I guess Heaney has earned another start.
Final. Yankees win 5-4. Heaney gets the win. Loaisiga earns the save with a 1,2,3 no drama ninth inning. This win was really big. Clinched this series and have a chance for a sweep tomorrow.
I apologize for my comment earlier. Heaney proved me wrong, hung in there, and gutted out a strong six innings giving the Yankees a chance for a comeback. And comeback they did. I feel like one of the idiots from the nyy forum. It won't happen again. I've learned my lesson.
Yankees ten game series.
001-010 5-5
010-020 4-6 = 9-11
021-030 7-3 = 16-14
031-040 6-4 = 22-18
041-050 7-3 = 29-21
050-060 2-8 = 31-29
060-070 6-4 = 37-33
071-080 4-6 = 41-39
081-090 5-5 = 46-44
091-100 7-3 = 53-47
100-110 8-2 = 61-49
Was looking for second consecutive 7-3. Didn't get it, got an 8-2 instead. That makes for a 15-5 (.750) ball last 20 games. Need to keep moving forward.
This win was exhilarating. Felt we would lose after first few innings. Another come from behind win.
Cashman did one heck of a job putting this team together the last week of July.
You never know when the worm will turn.
Luis Gil will make his second MLB start tomorrow. Possibly Luke Voit back on roster tomorrow.
Keep winning series and we will make the playoffs. Produce when it counts.
Yanks23245, don't feel bad, myself and I am reasonably sure other contributors here have felt the Yankees were in trouble this season the way things had been going and playing so poorly. Negatives were said by posters about players and management several times, but nowhere like was being said on other sites. WIN METHOD posters pretty much hung in there and did not give up and it looks like neither did the team and management. Just need to keep winning for and 2 1/2 months.
Gil with his second start this afternoon. Do it again Luis. Lets go Yankees. Lets go!
Leaving New York City was the best thing we did. South Carolina is so great. Weather, people, and politics.

Rizzo off with Voit back at 1B. Davis back in CF. Both against lefty pitcher.
Nice to have Voit back. Will be even nicer if he contributes when it counts for a win today.
Rizzo out with Covid.
It is fantastic to see the Stadium full and almost no one wearing any masks. Masks should only be worn by those who feel they need them for their own personal reasons. No one should be forced to wear masks by mandate by the scum of America.
0-0 after 4.
Gil goes five innings of shutout ball keeping Yankees in game after five innings 0-0.
All hail the freedom to decide for yourself to wear a mask or not. Love Gov. DeSantis.
Scoreless thru seven. Lineup has failed when it mattered most several times.
Luetge fails in the 8th initiated by Odor error, Mariners take the lead 2-0. Runs unearned because of Odor error.
Final. Yankees lose 2-0. A pathetic display of failure when it counted most as the Yankees go 0-11, yes zero for eleven. Pitching did a great job again except for Luetge who did not pick up his team when needed after an error opened the 8th inning.
You can't win them all, but you don't want to lose a game like todays. No one is giving you anything, you have to take it. Taking it means when the opportunity arises, you have to rise, step up, and produce when it counts. Everybody on the team.
Off to KC for a three game series.
FloridaYankee, Desantis is still trash in my eyes until he stops requiring us to wear seatbelts. He's no better than the tyrant left until he changes that law.
After KC three with the White Sox. Thursday, field of dream game, Friday off, then Saturday and Sunday in Chicago. Need to win both series and take another step forward.
Louie Louie rehab start today. Four innings, no runs, no hits, no walks, five K's, 48 pitches, 36 strikes. Game turned out to be a three man no hitter for Yankee Somerset Patriots AA team.
I wonder if Louie Louie will do another rehab game or be brought up to the Yankees.
Taillon and Cortes listed for the first two KC games. No one for game three yet.
Voit in his first game back today, had a very disappointing game.
Gil needs to stay on this team for the rest of the season. He is blooming and growing.
Lets get right back to winning, no losing streaks, just a game here and there.

DJ batting 5th with Gardner leadoff. Velasquez up and at short for injured Torres. Stanton in the 2 hole. Wade at 3B. We need to score some runs.
The Yankee trees keep falling. They need to hang on until they can come back.
Scoreless thru five. Yankees have not scored a run in sixteen consecutive innings.
Voit with a two out RBI single in 7th puts Yanks up 1-0.
Loaisiga gives run right back. 1-1 after 7.
Yanks take 2-1 lead in eighth on Judge rbi single. Then Loaisiga and Green give up a run. 2-2 game after eight. This season has been a grind.
Voit home run in 9th make it 3-2 Yankees. Britton on for the save try. Strikeout, line out, walk, stolen base, single, game tied 3-3, stolen base, strike out. Extra innings of fake baseball.
Yankees score twice in 10th and take 5-3 lead. Can a Yankee reliever produce when it counts tonight. So far, no for Loaisiga, Green, and Britton. Holmes turn now for the save. Here we go. Fake runner on second to start inning. Ground out, runner to third, walk, runners on first and third, wild pitch, runners on second and third, sac fly, two out, man on second, Yanks lead 5-4, single, 5-5 game, fly out. Every Yankee reliever has failed so far. To the 11th now tied at 5.
What a nightmare, I have to be at work at 7am no ifs ands or buts.
Last time, third time is a charm. Yankees score 3 in eleventh to take 8-5 lead. Peralta coming in for the save try for the Yankees after Loaisiga, Green, Britton, and Holmes have failed to keep KC from tying the game in the 7th, 8th, 9th, and 10th innings. This scenario has to be an all time first for baseball history. Lets go. Fake runner on second, ground out, one away, runner did not advance, strike out, two down, single, run scores, Yanks lead 8-6, single, runners on first and second, two outs, you have to be kidding with this game, tying runs on base, winning run batting, ground out. Yankees win 8-6. Thank God.
Final. Yankees win 8-6 in eleven innings. Game was tied 0-0 after six and both teams then scored in their half of each inning for the rest of the game.
Crazy game last night, midnight baseball. At least it was a win.
Taillon is approaching ace status, if not an ace already. Another great game from him last night.
yankeeclipper, I wasn't able to watch game last night and missed out big time. Thank you for your posts sort of bringing the game to life.
Cortes tonight, lets do it again.
Jen Vitter, I got caught up in the moment, posted and couldn't believe what was happening. My minimal and meaningless contribution to baseball history.
FIRST TIME EVER IN MLB HISTORY.......
Monday's wild, back-and-forth victory in Kansas City marked the first game in Major League history in which both teams scored in the seventh, eighth, ninth, 10th and 11th innings.

Cortes to keep us in it again? Score early and often.
Yanks down 2-0 after 2.
Another back and forth game. Yankees trail 5-4 thru six.
Yanks in the hole 7-4 after 7. Too many missed chances when it mattered most.
Final. Yankees lose 8-4. Lackluster uninspired play tonight. Not good. No team can play backups game after game. Rubber game tomorrow afternoon. Will be a bullpen all hands on deck game for Yanks.
Luetge will start todays game at 2PM in Kansas City.
Todays Yankee Lineup
Lucas Luetge (L) P
1. DJ LeMahieu (R) 2B
2. Brett Gardner (L) CF
3. Aaron Judge (R) DH
4. Joey Gallo (L) RF
5. Luke Voit (R) 1B
6. Rougned Odor (L) 3B
7. Andrew Velazquez (S) SS
8. Tyler Wade (L) LF
9. Rob Brantly (L) C
Six left handed bats. Stanton out, thank heaven. Need a win for the series.
What do you know, Yanks score three in first. First time in a long time.
Yankees lead 5-2 after five innings which have taken two hours to play.
Yankees calling up Florial and Peraza for White Sox "Field of Dreams" series starting tomorrow.
Final. Yankees win 5-2. Despite shoddy defense, and just a hit or two when it counted, the Yankees used six pitchers who did very well for the win and the series win. Look for Yankee callup Peraza to start at shortstop in field of dreams game tomorrow.
Missing Stanton in the Yankee lineup is like missing nothing. Stanton not in lineup was likely the biggest reason the Yankees scored three run in the first inning today. Take a lot of pressure off the pitchers when they know they have some leeway.
I hope Peraza does so well when he gets his chance that he wins the shortstop position.
Heaney starts tomorrow. Hope he picks up where he left off last start. Looks like Yanks will be playing their youngster tomorrow. Knock their socks off Oswaldo.
Yankee/White Sox should be a fun game to watch tomorrow. 7PM game on FOX network. 6PM pre game show.
We may see Cole and Monty make stats within a week and Louie Louie within 8-10 days.
The field of dreams game was great movie and a novel idea. It's good that baseball has embraced the concept and allowed for todays game to be played in a corn field in Iowa. Really looking forward to the pregame show and then the game, win or lose.
Todays Yankee Lineup
Andrew Heaney (L) P
1. DJ LeMahieu (R) 2B
2. Brett Gardner (L) CF
3. Aaron Judge (R) RF
4. Joey Gallo (L) LF
5. Giancarlo Stanton (R) DH
6. Luke Voit (R) 1B
7. Rougned Odor (L) 3B
8. Kyle Higashioka (R) C
9. Tyler Wade (L) SS
Stanton should not be in lineup. Lynn will make mince meat out of him. Hope Heaney keeps us in game.
Very nostalgic pregame show. Baseball did well putting this game together.
Watching the players come out of the corn field onto the ball field I sobbed like a baby.
Yanks down 1-0 after 2.
Heaney getting hammered again. Yankees down 7-3 after 4 innings.
Yanks down 7-3 after 4.
Another unbelievable game from the Yankees.
Score four in ninth for an 8-7 lead, then Britton gives up two run HR for the 9-8 loss.
A great game, but a loss.
Final. Yankees lose 9-8. Trailing 7-4 in the 9th inning, Judge and Stanton both hit two run home runs for a 8-7 Yankee lead. Britton comes in for the save and gives up a two run home run and the loss. This season has been scary.
Again, the Yankees feel the agony of defeat of a walk off loss.
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 --------- 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻
This baseball adage from real baseball people is the truest one there ever may be.
""The last three outs are the hardest to get in baseball.""
How many times have we seen this over the past week and multiple times in games.
The ecstasy of winning and the agony of defeat. Too many times for the Yankees. And it could cost them the playoffs. With so many individual pitchers failing.
Much needed off day for Yankees. Especially after last nights loss.
Heaney crippled us last night, we fought back, we took the lead, and then are closer, found the gun and shot us in the foot again. Last nights ending was a very sad one.
Since there is not baseball today, allow me to post this article from two weeks re SWEDEN.
It will be a two part post because of lenght.
PART ONE
Sweden: Despite Variants, No Lockdowns, No Daily Covid Deaths
Michael Fumento – July 30, 2021
Since the Covid pandemic broke out, Sweden has been fought over more than any other part of Europe since Germany in the 30 Years War. In refusing to use an iron fist to control a virus, lockdown advocates claimed it was either committing murder or suicide; choose your favorite metaphor. Relatively few such as me, in three separate articles, claimed the Nordic country was sparing both the economy and something called “liberty” with its light-handed approach. My favorite title (editor chose it): “Media Enraged That More Swedes Aren’t Dying.”
Thus last year we saw such headlines as CNN’s “Deaths Soar In Country That Didn’t Lock Down. Officials Identify Big Reason Why.” Around the same time “Sweden Steadfast In Strategy As Virus Toll Continues Rising,” claimed another source. “Sweden’s Coronavirus Strategy Drives Up Infection Rate,” screamed the BBC. Everyone was playing pile-on. “Sweden Has The Highest Daily Coronavirus Death Rate In The World – And It’s Getting Worse.” That’s from Yahoo Sports. Sports?
Modelers desperately tried to scare Sweden into locking down. One predicted an incredible median of 96,000 deaths, with a maximum of 183,000. At Sweden’s Lund University an academic used the parameters in the now-infamous Neil Ferguson/Imperial College model to warn that it meant 85,000 deaths for Sweden. An Uppsala University team also found the nation paying a terrible price with 40,000 Covid-19 deaths by May 1, 2020 and almost 100,000 by June.
Total Swedish Covid deaths at this writing: 14,651.
It’s not that Sweden did nothing – but very little. “From the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Public Health Agency . . . embarked on a de-facto herd immunity approach, allowing community transmission to occur relatively unchecked,” declared a scathing editorial in the leftwing medical journal The Lancet last December. “No mandatory measures were taken to limit crowds on public transport, in shopping malls, or in other crowded places,” it said. “Coronavirus testing, contact tracing, source identification, and reporting, as recommended by WHO, were limited and remain inadequate.” High schools closed temporarily, but grade schools never.
“In our view,” snarled The Lancet, “there is still not sufficient recognition in the national strategy of the importance of pre-symptomatic and asymptomatic transmission, aerosol transmission, and use of face masks.”
Time to revisit Sweden as much of the world starts locking down and masking again regardless of vaccination levels, blaming the Delta variant. And those impudent Swedes are pretty much refusing to die of Covid at all.
Not to say that vaccines haven’t contributed to the current low numbers, but … cases peaked during the first week of January while vaccinations didn’t even begin until the end of that month. Currently Sweden ranks 18th in Europe in vaccines per capita, right in the middle. Likewise, there are those who say Sweden finally buckled down and imposed serious restrictions. It didn’t. It imposed more restrictions in the second week of January, perhaps more in response to international opprobrium than anything else. But yes, it was after cases not only had started dropping but actually plummeted by more than half.
PART TWO
What’s happening? According to an as-yet unpublished but online study by two Svenske researchers, it appears the country has reached that Holy Grail of Covid called “herd immunity.” That means a level where those already protected are significantly guarding those without exposure. Mind, they say, it’s not all from Covid-19 per se but possibly in great part to “pre-immunity” from other infections. Four coronaviruses are known to cause colds, but the researchers actually don’t even mention that. It’s just that previous exposure to something seems to be providing natural inoculation. And it shouldn’t be as unique to Sweden as Ingrid Bergman.
Mind, the current figures are just a snapshot. Did the country pay an awful price en route to the apparent herd immunity? Well, certainly the Swedish death rate is higher than its Nordic neighbors Norway, Denmark, and Finland. Those are the comparisons you’ll hear. But it’s well below the rates for larger-population European countries including Belgium, Italy, the U.K., Romania, Spain, France, and Portugal. The U.S., too.
Sweden’s chief epidemiologist Anders Tegnell, who caught absolute hell, feels vindicated. “Locking down is saving time,” he said last year. “It’s not solving anything.” In essence the country “front-loaded” its deaths and decreased those deaths later on.
Meanwhile, the Swede haters have also insisted that in exchange for its “butcher’s bill” the country was deriving little or no economic benefit from not shutting down.
“Sweden unlikely to feel economic benefit of no-lockdown approach,” warned the Financial Times in a May 10, 2020 headline. It admitted that so far Sweden has fared better, but select “analysts” cautioned it wouldn’t last.
Wrong. Despite Sweden inevitably feeling undertow from economies that did lock down, “Covid-19 has had a rather limited impact on its economy compared with most other European countries,” according to the Nordetrade.com consulting firm. “Softer preventative restrictions against Covid-19 earlier in the year and a strong recovery in the third quarter contained the GDP contraction,” it said.
Thus the country the media loved to hate is reaping the best of all worlds: Few current cases and deaths, stronger economic growth than the lockdown countries, and its people never experienced the yoke of tyranny.
Not surprisingly, it’s not just Sweden’s pro-freedom position on Covid that sticks in the MSM’s craw. Though routinely labeled “socialist,” it ranks 10th out of 190 economies for ease of doing business, according to the World Bank’s Doing Business report for 2020.
Which for a lot of people is presumably another good reason to hate them.
Bury the joe-bama/commie MALADY administration, bury the left wing, the liberals, socialists, progressives, the democrats, the squad, and all those who hate America and are trying to destroy this great country.
Destroy then with your VOTES, vote for TRUMP supported candidates, and never ever vote for anyone else of any kind. VOTE TRUMP SUPPORTED CANDIDATES !!!!!!!! Always and forever.
MAGA2020, the Swedes were right, most of the rest of the world, not so much. We listed to bought and paid for idiots like Fauci.
Taillon starting tomorrow nights game.
Hear hear MAGA2020
Back inaction tonight and to win this series will need to win game tonight and tomorrow.
I believe many of you fans out there, know this already and may like to read this article.
https://www.yankee.blue/players/why-...s-of-all-time/
Steve(winstheonlystat}, the article sounds like something you or most WIN METHOD fans would write.
It sure gives a swift kick in the rear end of stat frauds, exactly where their brains are.
Sorry people, use this instead. The first site I gave you was the generic one.
https://www.yankee.blue/players/why-derek-jeter-is-one-of-the-best-defensive-shortstops-of-all-time/
Jeter was special and one of a kind. Jeter was the best MLB player in the last quarter plus century.
Jameson Taillon (R) P
1. DJ LeMahieu (R) 2B
2. Brett Gardner (L) CF
3. Aaron Judge (R) RF
4. Joey Gallo (L) LF
5. Giancarlo Stanton (R) DH
6. Luke Voit (R) 1B
7. Rougned Odor (L) 3B
8. Kyle Higashioka (R) C
9. Tyler Wade (L) SS
How many times can Taillon produce time after time? He has been the best Yankee starter this season. We need the win.
PS Great article re Jetes, the best of the best.
2-2 after 2.
3-3 after 4.
3-3 after 6.
Judge home run in 8th puts Yankees up 4-3.
Yanks up 4-3 after 8.
Green gets first two batters in 9th and then gives up HR on 3-2 pitch. 4-4. Get third out.
Extra innings. Bush league style.
Judge rbi single scores the fake runner. Gallo homer makes it 7-4.
Britton on for the 10th for the save try with a 3 run lead.
Britton gets one out, then two singles and a walk. Yanks up 7-5, bases loaded with one out and Britton is out of the game with another massive failure. Youngster Abreu in with all the pressure of the world on his shoulders.
Here we go, Two out on a soft liner. Bases full, two outs. Anderson, who won last nights game is up. Ground out. Abreu saves the day. The Yankees have a boat load of young talent. Let them the hell play and chuck the over paid old duds.
Final. Yankees win 7-5. Green fails and Britton fails, but Abreu does the job earning the save. Judge another great game with four rbi's.
Another crazy up and down game in this crazy season. Yanks win 7-5 in extra innings.
Rubber game tomorrow afternoon. Corte listed to start.
The defensive play of the game. Go back and watch the replay. With the bases loaded and one out, Abreu came in for Britton. Abreu's first pitch was way way outside and Higashioka made a fantastic stab and catch of the ball preventing a wild pitch. He then looked at Abreu and motioned to him with both hands to calm/settle down. The rest is history. If Sanchez were catching he doesn't sniff that pitch and Yankees would have lost in my opinion.
This has been the best Judge has been, ever. Particularly in the late innings, under pressure, and producing when it counts.
BIGTIMEYANKEE, When he Higgy made that play I thought exactly the same thing.
Todays Yankee Lineup
Nestor Cortes (L) P
1. DJ LeMahieu (R) 2B
2. Brett Gardner (L) CF
3. Aaron Judge (R) RF
4. Joey Gallo (L) DH
5. Giancarlo Stanton (R) LF
6. Luke Voit (R) 1B
7. Rougned Odor (L) 3B
8. Kyle Higashioka (R) C
9. Tyler Wade (L) SS
Cortes keep us in game again? Wade needs to go to opposite field all the time unless the pitcher makes a mistake inside. Make contact, get on base, and make things happen with your speed.
Guy, Wade did well last night, but his big fail came in his last at bat, and O'Neill said it as he hooked an outside pitch and hit a ground ball to first. The Sox were daring him to hit the ball to the left side, but didn't even try.
Yanks up 3-0 after 2.
Cortes battling to keep Yankees alive and leads 3-0 after three.
Yanks up 3-0 after 4.
Cortes has gone five masterfull shutout innings so far and leads 3-0, but the Yankees haven't been able to drop the hammer and put this game away. Really want to win this series. I don't know what the bullpen has to offer today after yesterday's game.
Cortes gives up HR in 6th. Yanks lead 3-1 after 6.
Yanks up 3-1 after 6.
Ridings in for the seventh. Pitches a scoreless inning. Yankees lead 3-1.
Ridings stay in for the 8th. Walks first man and Loaisiga now in. Loaisiga goes 1,2,3. Yanks lead 3-1 after 8.
Yanks up 3-1 after 8.
Voit 2 run HR gives Yankees some breathing room in ninth. Now a 5-1 lead. Who will close?
Boone sends Luetge out for the ninth. Oh my, hope for the best.
Luetge has nothing. Leaves men on 2nd and 3rd one out and Yanks up 5-2. Peralta comes in, too late? Infield single, 1st and 3rd, one out 5-3. Double play miracle.
