Hello WIN METHOD Yankee fans, the smartest baseball fans on the face of the earth. It has been a long time since I last blog posted. However, there have been comments within the blog from me. So here we go for 2021.
First, the Yankees will be in the playoffs again this season, but they also will play in the World Series. In talking with players, they are not happy with what they have achieved the past few seasons. They feel they have something to prove and want to do it now. Most of the players have undertaken a new or modified training program instituted by the training staff. Look for less injuries and less severe injuries this season. That will be a step forward and a plus for the team as a whole.
Second, Corey Kluber and Jameson Taillon both feel very optimistic with what each will contribute to the Yankees success this season. Both players believe their injuries are behind them. As of now, the Yankee starting rotation looks like it will have four men in the first four spots right now. Cole, Kluber, Taillon, and Montgomery. The fifth spot will be determined in March. The guys who do not make the fifth spot will either be sent to AAA Scranton or long relievers on the big team. Then the big guy Louie Louie Severino will make his return to the Bronx in June. The pitching staff looks solid and has many fall back arms to rely on. The bullpen remains solid and strong, also with several young arms looking to make an impact.
Third, the lineup will be solid again, more important, will be healthier. Runs will be put on the board. The biggest question mark will be at catcher. Catcher Gary Sanchez has been a black hole in the Yankee lineup recently, ala afraud in the past. Gary Sanchez is being mentored and talked to by coaches and trainers. Sanchez feels it is helping him, As the season starts, we will all see if it has. Sanchez himself is the only person who can really make it happen. It is up to him. A big WIN METHOD season from Sanchez would be a big help to the lineup and the team. If he does what he has been doing the last couple of seasons, Gary's days could be short lived.
As you all know I always read all posts by all of you who post here. Looking at the numbers of views recorded on the WIN METHOD blog there are also an enormous number of fans who read the blog consistently. You fans will take this blog, the number one Yankee baseball blog in the world over the one billion mark somewhere around June 1st this year. You are the people who take this blog in the direction you want it to go on a daily, weekly, monthly, or whatever time frame basis. This past year, we saw a very shortened baseball season, we saw a disgusting Chinese created virus, spread throughout the world by the most foul Chinese government, killing millions of people from all countries across the globe. We had a presidential election here in America. The election was the most corrupt election in the history of America stolen by the most corrupt politicians in America's history. We now have the most corrupt politicians in America's history running our country. They will do their best to destroy America. Hopefully, you the people will do whatever you need to do to stop the destruction.
It is now back to baseball and a great Yankee season. Thank all of you for reading and posting your views and opinions in this blog. You are the people who have made the WIN METHOD blog the best and greatest Yankee baseball blog, forum, or site in the world. One more thing before I conclude. I would like to recognize the life and pay my respects to RUSH HUDSON LIMBAUGH III who passed away February 17th. Rush was the greatest radio and political commentator of all time. Rush's radio career spanned over thirty years. Rush's show was three hours a day, five days week, fifty-two weeks a year. Rush was right 99.8% of the time and one of the finest American patriots who believed in freedom and pursuit of happiness of every single American. Rest in peace, you will never be forgotten.

Cole hurt us. The guys have been scoring enough runs each game. Four games left and they are all big. Going 2-2 may not be enough to make the playoffs. Reconsidering, Cole did more than hurt us, he may have killed us or at best made it very hard on us.

The Yankees paid big bucks to Cole to win when it mattered most. Last night in maybe his biggest start in maybe this season's biggest game for the Yankees, Cole failed miserably. Very disappointing. How about a refund.

Great win tonight. Kluber did is job, the bullpen did its job and the lineup did its job. You put all three together and you get a WIN.
Interesting take on this three game series with Toronto. Only one pitcher stunk and that was Gerrit Cole.
With just three games left in the 162 game regular MLB season, the Yankees control their own destiny. A couple of wins is all that is needed.
To put the Yankees playoff chances in its simplest form. If the Yankees win 2 more games of the 3 left they will then for sure host the AL wild card game at home. Other than that there are so many possibilities that you wouldn't want to waste your time writing them down.
Three more games, let's win this final series.

When you come down to the end of the season and teams are still fighting for playoff spots, you really realize just how meaningless individual stats are and just how much wins and winning are the only stats that really matter. Wins and winning determine the best teams and the best players.
Like every game played, hope our starter (Cortes tonight) keeps it close and us in the game, our lineup produces when it matters most, and the bullpen does what it does best (shutout innings), and we win game one of this series.

A big turn a round ten game series has put the Yankees on the cusp of a playoff spot. There are only two games left in the season and the Yankees need to win at least one and better yet two. What a wild ride this season has been, peaks and valleys, ups and downs. You never know which Yankee team will show up on any day.
Not a good game for the Yankees tonight. The biggest gaffe may have been a roster move. When Voit was put on the DL the Yankee called up relief pitcher instead of a position player. That mistake may very well have cost the Yankees the game tonight. I also did not like Boone's use of the bullpen tonight.
A tough game to lose last night. I dreaded when all we had left to bat after Gardners 2 rbi single cutting the lead to 4-3 was Sanchez. I thought there goes the game, here comes a double play grounder. Didn't happen, Sanchez struck out on three pitches without even touching the baseball. Still a chance with Odor up, hit a solid liner down the right field line but it was foul. A couple other fouls but eventually another strike out and the game was over.
Need to win today and need to play like your life depends on it.

Monty only goes 2 2/3 is taken out after giving up 7 runs 6 hits 3 home runs and the Yankees buried 7-1. Hard to believe Yankee fans, but it's been that kind of year and it's been happening all year. You never know what you are going to get on any day.

It just keeps getting worse. Torres Ks in the seventh as then balls gets by the catcher a rolls all the way to the backstop. Torres doesn't really run to first base and is thrown out and is cascaded with boo's because he would have easily been safe if he ran the play out. He needs to be off this team along with his cohort Sanchez.
Final. Yankees lose 12-2. EMBARRASSING LOSS!! Monty stunk, the lineup stunk, and a couple of players went the extra mile to stink. Enough said. Last game of the regular season tomorrow and there are too many scenarios to cover them all here. The rest of today and tomorrow will determine if there will playoffs to get into the playoffs and who and where any game(s) will be played.
The way the Yankees played today is exactly what the scum of our country the joe-bama/commie MALADY administration is doing to America. A disaster.

How athletes perform under pressure is much of what the WIN METHOD is about. The teams with the players who play the best under pressure and perform the most when it matters most will win the most and wins and winning determines the best players and teams. It is a team game and not every player copes with and performs at higher levels. Some do better than others, some are adequate and some do not perform as well. Finally, some are far worse under pressure.
The Yankees better match the Rays intensity, because the Rays came to play even though they had clinched the division title. And that goes to the manager and what he expects from his team. Unlike Boone, who accepts lackadaisical play, no hustle, wild swings, head not in the game, etc.
A win tomorrow is not a must, but a win would go a long way of improving the Yankee chances going forward in the playoffs.

In the end, it's up to the players on this roster to perform today and going forward. They have all talked the talk, it's time for them to walk the walk. I certainly think they shouldn't even be in this position after six months, but I'm going to blame it on inconsistencies in the organization and on the roster in so many ways and with too many players swinging from the heels, playing for themselves, and not being held responsible. Torres and Sanchez in the lineup today and ever again is reprehensible in my view.
It took 161 games, but the Yankees have found a way to play themselves into one heck of a mess.
Don't count on it, may be hope for it, but wouldn't it by nice if Torres and Sanchez made substantial contributions in a win today.

The New Kid who doesn't make it to start 2022 with the Yankees goes to AAA and keeps developing and will be on the Yankees within the year. Damn it guys, just do it. Show some gumption. At the same time get a manager who doesn't coddle the sniveling and whining players. Oh yes get rid of Sanchez also.

A very sad ending to a long hard fought 162 game season. Very disappointed by Cole's last two starts. Showed nothing when it mattered most to his team and the Yankee fans. He has lost his status with me.

I was very disappointed in Cole last night. I believe the first inning home run he gave up took set the team back mentally right then and there.

Cole says he is physically fine. If that is the case, he is no longer an ace but just another good pitcher. Over his post several starts he has been getting hit very hard and he has been throwing far too many pitches. Aces need to miss bats and Cole is not even close to missing bats as things now stand.
Cole was to be the piece needed for the Yankees to make a big run in the playoffs. It ain't so.
There was a lot of talk that Cole was using one of, some of. or all of Tyrus Sticky Grip, Firm Grip spray, Pelican Grip Dip stick and Spider Tack. If that was so and not being able to use it anymore, and now he isn't what the Yankees paid him to be, is a shame.
LA Dodgers won 3-1 last night on walk off HR in ninth inning to advance to the next round of the playoffs.

Jack Bauer, you are right with caveat. Hal is ultimately responsible, but the problem could be Cashman, Boone, stat fraud analysts, etcetera. If it is one or more of the others it is up to Hal to do something about it.
Guys, I think it is Steinbrenner. Ever since his father died and left him in charge the team has not even played in the World Series, twelve years now. If Hal has let go on this long, then in my opinion it is all on him.

Cashman ... for not making the best of a 200 million dollar budget and accepting the past
twelve years of failure to even reach the WS. And if he is being restricted by
his boss and accepting it, that is on him.
Hal ....... he can change any of the issues below him at any time. You all know that his
father, the great George Steinbrenner would have done anything and everything
about any of the above and done it until he got it right and the team won it
all.

George Steinbenner did not, and he won multiple World Series. I can't say the same for his son won earned nothing. Hal got an inheritance that is worth billions. Getting back to the blame game. Teams win because their players produce when it matters most often. The LA Dodgers defeated the SF Giants 7-2 last night and evened their series at two games each last night. Final game of series tomorrow in SF, the winner moves on to the NLCS and the loser goes home. This series is known as the cesspool state series across most of America.

Just my opinion ... I have seen Sale pitch twice this season. He is just returning from Tommy John (TJ) surgery so there is room for error in my opinion, although I do not think much room.

The Yankees could save a lot of money by not going after infield free agents and just letting the youngsters earn the positions at spring training. Get rid of Torres and Sanchez. Sign a catcher who can play defense and put the ball in play when it matters. Sign or trade for a top of rotation starting pitcher who throws strikes and can go six plus innings every start.
