WIN METHOD YANKEE BASEBALL SEASON 2020 shortened

Finally, it looks like we will have some semblance of a Major League Baseball season in 2020.  Baseball for 2020 was halted by a Chinese oriented deadly virus that is traveling the world and killing massive amounts of innocent people.  In March baseball was shut down as was most of America.  As most of America regains its footing and is starting to recover, so is baseball.

The MLB owners and the MLBPA (players association) yesterday have agreed to play a partial 2020 season commencing around July 23-24.   A second spring training will open July 1st, and each team will get in shape in their own home ballparks all across the nation.  There is tentatively a 60 game season that will be played.  There is always a probability what I post here may be amended by the owners, players, and baseball commissioner.  Each division will play 40 games in their own division.  That would make for 40 games, 10 with each rival in their division.  Each team would also play 4 games against each team in their opposite division for 20 games making for the total of a 60 game season.  The divisions will play each other geographically limiting travel.  East vs east, central vs central, and west vs west.  The regular season will end the last week of September.  As of now each division winner and two wild cards in each league will make the playoffs.  That is the same as the 162 game season.  The inferior AAAA national league will use the designated hitter for their games for the first time in baseball history.  The American League has used the designated hitter since April 6, 1973 when Ron Blomberg of the New York Yankees became the league's first ever designated hitter.  Also extra inning games will be started with a runner on second base which makes a mockery of the game and is a sham that demeans the game of baseball.  Not all changes are bad, however this change is bad.

The playoffs will conclude the season as usual hopefully ending in October.  In the end as it always has and hopefully always will the best players and best teams will reach the playoffs and then advance to the final series, the world's greatest sports event the WORLD SERIES.

The season without question will be shorter and different.  Look at it this way, every one of the sixty games becomes far more important and losing streaks will eliminate teams fast, while a big winning streak can carry a team right into the playoffs.  The players will need to get their heads fully into the season from the first game on.   The fun part is the WIN METHOD becomes even more important.  The players who produce when it matters most and do it the most often will lead their team through the season and into the playoffs.   Hopefully all goes well healthwise and the season can be completed.

No matter what, happens and as always, LETS GO YANKEES!

PS....thank you all, WIN METHOD fans from all over the world for your unwavering support, your comments, and for being the most intelligent baseball fans in the world.   The ignorance of the stat frauds  doesn't exist here.  They have no game.  They are  losers who love losing players.

One big hole in lineup in 8 hole. Should be Higgy. Change Frazier and Hicks would be perfect.

Sue Gordon said...

No way should Sanchez play before Higashioka. Sanchez is a liability offensively and defensively. Double whammy.

Five games for everyone to get ready and be ready for the playoffs. Lose and go home.

Walt Belamy said...

Meatball gives away a run with his pathetic defense throwing a ball wildly to first base trying to pick off a runner and the runner on third base scores. What a useless jerk. Yankees down 2-0 in first innings.

Yanks23245 said...

To prove the WIN METHOD fans point, Meatball comes to bat in the second with men on 2nd and 3rd with one out and strikes out on a ball that bounces in the dirt. He fails again over and over when it matters most. By darn, get him off the team, play a man short and use a real player in his spot.

Top of fifth. Bases loaded no outs and Stanton strikes out for third time in game. This one in the biggest spot possible.

yankeedoodledandy said...

Voit pops up to second baseman with bases loaded and one out. A major fail in a major spot when it matters most.

yankeedoodledandy said...

Torres flies out to right field for the third out. Bases loaded no one out, and the Yankee 3,4,5 batters can't get a run in or more important create a big inning.

Stan the Man said...

Another error by Meatball Sanchez opens the flood gates and gives Jays an 8 run inning and a 13-1 lead. If Sanchez plays in the playoffs the Yankees can not and will not win.

will-i-am said...

Final. Yankees lose 14-1. A humiliating defeat. A personal embarrassment of a game by Meatball Sanchez. Multiple errors costing multiple runs and another multiple strike out o for 4 game. The team in general looked terrible and that can only happen this many times if it is accepted by the manager.

Hobbs said...

Every Yankee player and fan should be disgusted by the effort put forth by the team in tonights game. Sloppy, lackadaisical, and uninspired. Very very sad. There is no excuse for this type of play. Get rid of the culprits. Any idiot knows who they are.

Patricia Piper said...

The Yankees play last night made me sick and disgusted. You are going into the playoffs in a week and you play that bad.

In my opinion every time Boone plays the miserable meatball he is saying to the team the game doesn't mean anything to me. On the other hand, if Boone really believes that meatball is a better option than Higashioka, he is not very smart or wise or is being told who to play.

Teena/Bronx said...

Sanchez needs to go. The Yankees should have kept Romine like many stated here.

Final. Yankees lose 4-3 in ten innings. The morbid details. The Yankees made more errors than they scored runs. The Yankees hit into 5 double plays, with the last one in the 10th inning with the bases loaded. Home plate umpire was putrid.

Aceman said...

Another uninspired effort. Saving everything for the playoffs?

Gus Papa said...

One o'clock game today with Deivi starting. Two games left in the season before the playoffs.

Walt Belamy said...

will-i-am, Almost every umpire when calling balls and strikes are putrid. You can throw in that most of them are also at an angle to the plate when calling balls and strikes that it makes it very difficult to call pitches correctly on the opposite side of home plate from where they are standing. Every umpire should be standing directly behind the point of home plate in the center of the strike zone. It is appalling the way they call strikes on Judge that are 90% of the time below his knees.

2020 MLB playoffs start today and after a few weeks the best team and the best players will finish the season victorious by defeating every team they played. And every team they play and defeat will have earned a chance to play them by defeating a team who got a chance to be the best of the best by winning and defeating other teams. It is a no fail process to become the best of the best and is always and only accomplished by wins. WINS, the only stat that counts.

On to San Diego and the Tampa Bay Rays who we owe much payback from this season.

Patricia Piper said...

What a nerve racking game. The drama never let up until the final out.

Guy Padikian said...

The Indians created a great game last night by "stealing four first inning runs" by delaying the start of the game by about 50 plus minutes last night and ensuring Yankee pitcher Masahiro Tanaka would pitch in a pouring rain in the first inning and then have to stop and restart again after 30 plus minutes more. The Yankees came back and from then on over the last six innings the Yankees and Indians played a pins and needles game where both sides never gave up. Every half inning their was excitement and the worm turned many times and over six hours later the Yankees ended the game with a one run win. So many heroes and so many failures on both sides but in the end the team and players who produced the most when it mattered the most won the game and will move forward while the losing players and losing team say their season come to a close. The best team and players always win, be it for a game, a series, a week, a month, or a season.

Jens Ingwersen said...

Guy Padikian, the stat frauds are too busy making up and playing with fake stats and themselve to realize wins have always determined the best.

YankeeBob said...

There where so many big plays last night. Talking only for the Yankees, the biggest offensive and defensive play came from the same player. Urshela grand slam put Yankees back into the game and on top. Urshela diving snare of a ground ball and turning it into a double play while in a lying sitting position that prevented runs from scoring and who knows how many more was magnificent. The worst Yankee defensive play was by Sanchez in the ninth inning when he let a third strike out that would have ended the game get by him putting the tying run on base, the winning run at bat, and Chapman having to make more pitches to get the third out a second time.

All I can say is lineup looks as good as it can be. Now to produce when it matters most and win.

Cole still struggling in the 5th. Men on 1st and 3rd with 2 outs. Cole killer Choi up for Rays. Higgy with a great save of a wild pitch and a run. After 2 ball Choi intentionally walked. Bases loaded. Cole gets the K on a 100mph fast ball. 4-3 Yankees after 5.

Yankees rally in ninth and score on Hicks rbi single for 5-3 lead, and four more on a grand slam from Stanton for 9-3 lead. Won't need Chapman for the ninth, I hope. 🀞 Cessa in for ninth.

Final. Yankees win 9-3. πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘ Cole with a grinding six innings for the win. Bullpen did their job. Many players contributed offensively for a nice WIN METHOD win. Home runs from Frazier, Higashioka, Judge, and Stanton.

Deivi is officially listed as tomorrow's game two starter.

We have a 21 year old youngster who outwardly displays confidence, poise, and determination starting for the Yankees tonight. The lineup is producing and a win tonight would be awesome.
I will really be rooting for five or six inning from Deivi tonight and the possibility of a future star homegrown Yankee pitcher. Lets go Yankees.

Interesting tidbit. Last night was the first time in Yankee post season history that home runs were hit from the 8th and 9th batters in the same game. Frazier and Higashioka.

Cory, thanks. Never to old to learn something new. This is the best Yankee baseball blog in the world. Great insight, talk, comments, and the smartest fans in the world.

Wade walk in the ninth to load the bases was a big at bat by one of the best 23rd-28th players on any team in baseball. Wade is a fine scrappy utility player that can play multiple positions extremely well, can help with the bat, and has superior base running ability. Anyone who doesn't want him on their team is an imbecile. And those imbeciles do not post here at WIN METHOD, but they do on other sites of ignorance.

A stat fraud by any other name is still a stat fraud.

The Yankees have a plan up their sleeve by having Deivi start tonights game. Lets see what happens. No matter what any plan by any team is if the team produces when it matters most they will will.

Three games this post season and it looks as if everyone on the Yankees has been more patient and selective at the plate. In first inning alone last night. First three batters, LeMahieu see eleven pitches and lines a single to centerfield to start the inning. LeMahieu moves to second base on a wild pitch and Judge is batting. Judge on a one/two pitch makes contact and hits ground ball ground out that move LeMahieu to third base with one out. Hicks the third batter hits a fly ball well into centerfield for the second out that scores LeMahieu for the first run of the game. Contact is good, strikeouts are not just another out, strikeouts are useless outs. Point being the Yankees scored a run on a single, wild pitch a ground out and fly out. Sounds like WIN METHOD baseball.

Same lineup as yesterday except 9 spot. With meatball playing we weaken the offense and defense. But it is only one player, the black hole. If meatball has any character and pride, Higashiokas play should ignite him to try harder and do better. Lets go Yankees.

No matter how well or poorly Deivi does tonight this game will provide a great building block for his blooming and growing, probably more growing since he seems to have bloomed already.

One man wrecking crew in Stanton tonight. Everyone else but DJ failed when it counted most tonight.

When a hitter strikes out on a pitch in the box, kudos to the pitcher. But when a hitter strikes out on a pitch out of the box, it is a negative on the batter.
