Finally, it looks like we will have some semblance of a Major League Baseball season in 2020. Baseball for 2020 was halted by a Chinese oriented deadly virus that is traveling the world and killing massive amounts of innocent people. In March baseball was shut down as was most of America. As most of America regains its footing and is starting to recover, so is baseball.
The MLB owners and the MLBPA (players association) yesterday have agreed to play a partial 2020 season commencing around July 23-24. A second spring training will open July 1st, and each team will get in shape in their own home ballparks all across the nation. There is tentatively a 60 game season that will be played. There is always a probability what I post here may be amended by the owners, players, and baseball commissioner. Each division will play 40 games in their own division. That would make for 40 games, 10 with each rival in their division. Each team would also play 4 games against each team in their opposite division for 20 games making for the total of a 60 game season. The divisions will play each other geographically limiting travel. East vs east, central vs central, and west vs west. The regular season will end the last week of September. As of now each division winner and two wild cards in each league will make the playoffs. That is the same as the 162 game season. The inferior AAAA national league will use the designated hitter for their games for the first time in baseball history. The American League has used the designated hitter since April 6, 1973 when Ron Blomberg of the New York Yankees became the league's first ever designated hitter. Also extra inning games will be started with a runner on second base which makes a mockery of the game and is a sham that demeans the game of baseball. Not all changes are bad, however this change is bad.
The playoffs will conclude the season as usual hopefully ending in October. In the end as it always has and hopefully always will the best players and best teams will reach the playoffs and then advance to the final series, the world's greatest sports event the WORLD SERIES.
The season without question will be shorter and different. Look at it this way, every one of the sixty games becomes far more important and losing streaks will eliminate teams fast, while a big winning streak can carry a team right into the playoffs. The players will need to get their heads fully into the season from the first game on. The fun part is the WIN METHOD becomes even more important. The players who produce when it matters most and do it the most often will lead their team through the season and into the playoffs. Hopefully all goes well healthwise and the season can be completed.
No matter what, happens and as always, LETS GO YANKEES!
PS....thank you all, WIN METHOD fans from all over the world for your unwavering support, your comments, and for being the most intelligent baseball fans in the world. The ignorance of the stat frauds doesn't exist here. They have no game. They are losers who love losing players.

«Oldest ‹Older 1401 – 1600 of 2949 Newer› Newest»I have a bone to pick with Boone's decisions last night in the ninth inning. Urshella and Torres both get on base to start the ninth inning with the Yankees down 7-4. You are facing the Rays right handed closer and the next two batters are Frazier and Meatball both with power to tie the game are both right handed hitters with Frazier hitting very poorly over the past couple of weeks and Meatball being one of the worst hitters in baseball all season. My first thoughts were Gardner, a left handed contact hitter with power who has been hitting well the past two weeks batting for Frazier and Ford a left handed power hitting who has had a poor season but does make far more contact than Meatball hitting for Meatball. Boone goes with Frazier and Meatball, both strike out on swings at pitches outside the strike zone and now there are two outs and the runners still on first and second. If the ball is not put in play by the hitters their at bats are totally useless. LeMahieu then rips a line drive single for an RBI making the game 7-5 with two on and Judge up and Judge ends the game with a groundout to third.
My point being, in my opinion it was a no brainer that Gardner and Ford should have been used. Heck, if you don't want to use Ford, you could have used Higashioka. Higgy makes contact far more than Meatball. We will never know what the pinch hitters would have done, but it would have been hard to do worse than the two strikeouts that did occur.
Stache Colinski, my first concern was why Deivi only went one inning. Maybe just to get his feet wet. He can be used at anytime still over the next three games. IF and ifs don't mean much Boone used Deivi over three innings and not Happ, how many less runs than the four Happ gave up could have Deivi have done. Changes the game and game pressure immensely. As you said we will never know.
Tanaka starts tonight for the Yankees in a very high pressure third game of a five game series. Tanaka has much experience in high pressure playoff games and this one is no different. A win tonight for either team would be big for the winner. October baseball at its best and the sports world best.
My ratings of the Yankee players seen so far during the last two games of this series. Ratings values = 1 thru 10.
LeMahieu 8, Judge 4, Hicks 6, Voit 4, Urshela 9, Torres 7, Gardner 5, Frazier 2, Sanchez 0, Higashioka 6, Stanton 9, Wade 6, Cole 7, Green 8, Britton 8, Cessa 8, Deivi 3, Happ 0, Ottavino 0, Loaisiga 0, Holder 9, Nelson 9.
I would hope Higgy and Gardy both start tonight.
7PM game tonight
It's in the hands of the players. All we can do is root for the team. If the players produce when it matters most they will win. Go Yankees.

Aaron Judge (R) RF

Brett Gardner (L) LF
Kyle Higashioka (R) C
The perfect lineup. We are home team tonight and tomorrow. Game time 7 o'clock.
LETS GO YANKEES 🆗 LETS GO YANKEES 🆗 LETS GO YANKEES 🆗
No black hole. Meatball has to go.
I don't know why, but I am sky high on the Yankees winning tonight's game. Tanaka, lineup, I really don't know. Probably both and more underlying thoughts.
Andy K, you nailed it.
Yanks down 1-0 after 2.
Yanks down 4-1 after 4.
Tanaka comes up empty and digs a giant hole for the Yankees. Gives up 5 runs in 4+ innings and leaves Yankees down 5-1.
LeMahieu single and Hicks RBI double cut Rays lead to 5-2 after five.
Oh my! Yankees go down 7-2 in 6th as Green gives up 2 run home run.
Yankees down 8-2 after 6.
Yanks down 8-4 after 8.
Final. Yankees lose 8-4. Tanaka had nothing. Failure on a couple of big at bats when it mattered most killed chances while producing several times when it mattered most by the Rays carried the day and won the game. Yankees face elimination game tomorrow with Montgomery listed as starter. All arms should be ready to be used.
Yankees look like they are overmatched by Rays. A team beats you game after game with a loss here and there and they begin to believe they should beat you every time you meet. Yankees lose tomorrow and their season is over.
It's do or die, produce when it matters most ro go home time for the Yankees tomorrow.
Yes we can, don't give up.
Montgomery gets the elimination game start tomorrow. The lineup needs to get the big hits when it matters the most or it will be game over.
Yankee backs are against the wall. Must win game today. Put up or shut up time.
I am very disappointed with the results of last nights game. Hope Monty can step up big time today. And more so the lineup can produce when it counts most today.
Win today or go home, the team has put themselves into this position.

It's on the arm of Montgomery. Slight lineup change.
Go Yankees.
My God, Judge looks bad and K's again.
Voit HR to lead off 2nd.
Yanks up 2-0 after 2.
Yanks up 2-1 after 4.
Monty goes four innings and allows one run. Leaves leading 2-1. Green in for the fifth and has a 1,2,3 innings.
Green with a 1,2,3 sixth.
Torres hits 2 run HR for a 4-1 Yankee lead.
Yanks up 4-1 after 6. Come on guys hold on for 3 more innings.
Britton on for the 7th.
Britton gets first two batters in the 8th and Chapman comes on to get final out of inning. One more inning? and 3 more outs left?
Higashioka with a big when it matters most rbi single for a fifth Yankee run and Yankees lead 5-1. Just say never again to the meathead meatball Sanchez.
Yanks up 5-1 after 8.
Final. Yankees win 5-1. Monty four innings one run. Green, Britton, Chapman five innings no runs. Voit and Torres home runs. We play tomorrow.
We needed that, can we do it again tomorrow. How far can Cole go and how effective will he be. We will need to produce some runs, how many. Fun game and baseball day in day out at its best. No other sport can match baseball.
It ain't until it's over.
Cole needs to earn his salary, he needs to give up nothing.
Mario/Staten Island, hear hear
I agree, we need Cole at his best. Or/and we need the lineup to score double digits. The Yankee pitchers held the Rays to just three hits last night. If they have one more slump or lousy game in them let it be tonight.
I love baseball. Everyday it is either the exhilaration of victory or the agony of defeat.
If tonight's Yankee pitchers duplicate what the pitchers did last night the Yankees win.
As of now game is listed for 7 o'clock start tonight.
Lets go Yankees.
Sadly, one of the all time great Yankee pitchers Whitey Ford passed away today. I learned a lot about what it took for players to become the best of the best from Whitery. Rest in peace.
Whitey Ford pitched 16 seasons, won 10 AL Championships, and 6 World Series. Ford is one of the top five MLB pitchers in the history of the game.
Whitey Ford was nicknamed "The Chairman of the Board". He was the best I ever saw.
WIN METHOD, my sincere condolences. Love ya,
Gerrit Cole and the entire Yankee team......Win tonight for Whitey Ford. You don't know him, go look up what he did during his Yankee career and emulate that. Just do it.
Lets go Yankees.
Replay last night.

Another solid lineup with our top catcher in there. Guys, do and play again, or don't and go home. Yes you can and yes you will. Lets go Yankees.
OK guys, win one for Whitey and the entire Yankee family.
This is it, one and done or play again. Go Yankees.
Lets go Yankees.
Cole rough first inning but out of his own trouble. 0-0
0-0 after 2.
Judge opens 4th with HR.
Yanks up 1-0 after 4.
Nerve racking.
Cole gives up home run in 5th. 1-1 thru 5.
Cole goes 5 1/3 and leaves even at 1. Britton comes in,
1-1 after 6.
What great baseball, what a game. 1-1 each team with a solo home run after six innings.
Chapman comes in game with 2 outs in 7th. Gets 3rd out. 1-1
Boone pinch hits for Higashioka in eighth. That means meatball will come in to catch. Will this blunder cost the game????
Chapman gives up HR in 8th. Yankees down 2-1 and have three outs left to their season, unless they produce NOW.
Yanks down 2-1 after 8.
Final. Yankees lose 2-1. Chapman takes the loss. Only excuse, didn't get another run or two. It's wait till next year time.
I believe the Yankees will make a major move or two during the off season. Will have to make some decisions on player contracts. Need to chuck meatball. Coming back German and Louie Louie into the rotation. Have Cole and Deivi. Paxton/injury?? Tanaka/contract?? Happ/contract?? Schmidt/has to earn it. King/has to earn it. That is nine possibilities.
Tough one to lose, but someone had to.
Have to root for the Rays the rest of the way. They earned where they are so far.
Many decisions and so much time to make them.
Sadly, Yankee fans have been say wait until next year for too long now.
Thank you Yankees for two and a half months of baseball during this horrendous year of the Chinese produced virus that has killed an enormous amount of innocent people from all four corners of the world. Still two more weeks to go but without the Yankees.
Ah yes, over and over, the meaninglessness of individual stats and the ignorance of the stat frauds. The Yankees and Rays just finished a tense, competitive, and great five game series in this 2020 MLB playoff season. One team over the five games had a cumulative box score of 24 runs 41 hits and 3 errors, the other team 21 runs 33 hits and 3 errors. Who won the series the total box score tells the story or does it really. For the stat frauds 24 runs and 41 hits beats 21 runs and 33 hits. But those individual stats are meaningless as to which team and which players win games. The best teams and players produce when it matters most and that is what determines who is best and who wins. The Yankees scored the most runs and had the most hits but they did not win the series, losing 3 games to 2. The Rays won the series because their hits came when it mattered most. Sadly the stupid stat frauds and number crunchers will keep using their old tired and lame excuses and they will remain in their state of denial and confusion. The WIN METHOD fans will know how to evaluate the best players and teams and continue to be the smartest baseball fans in the world.
You could say the Yankees won the battle but lost the war.
We all see it and know it. Watching each game and seeing someone get a big hit that scores runs and the team wins. Then seeing the games where time after time players fail in even the basic simple situation, bases loaded and a K, popup, double play or whatever combination and no runs sometimes more than once a game and wind up losing by a run or two. Bring back Jeter.
In essence the Yankees out hit and out pitched the Rays but lost the series. So much for stats and stat frauds.
No individual players stats is more important than the teams winning except to the player himself.
I hate losing by one run. But it was a great game and solid effort from both teams. Only three hits by each team. The Rays got two big ones and the Yankees one. That was the difference.
Not fair not fair. The Yankee got more hits and scored more runs. They are better and should be declared the winner. Whaaaah, whaaaaah, whaaaaaaaaaaaaaah.
The season was to short. Should have played with people in stands.
I'll pull for the Rays over the low life cheat Astros.
Next year is right around the corner.
We could have been playing today. But nooooooooooooo, we lost 2-1, by four pitcher who do not earn as much money as our three pitchers.
Augie Defonce, that was funny and sad at the same time.
First game of Astros/Rays tonight.
Snell starting for Rays.
Rays up 2-1 mid 7th.
Rays win 2-1.
Astros/Rays game two today at 4PM. Morton starting for Rays.
Rays up 3-1 after 6.
Rays win 4-2. Up 2 games to 0.
Off day for Astros/Rays today.
Phil Jenkins, No off day. Game three is 8:40 pm tonight. AAAA game is 6:00 pm.
Rays down 1-0 after 5.
Final. Rays win 5-2. Rays lead seven game ALCS 3 games to 0 and need just one more win to win American League Championship and advance to the World Series.
Rays and Astros game four tonight at 840pm.
Will the Yankees dump meatball?
Rays lose 4-3. Lead series 3 games to 1. Game five today at 5PM.
As for Sanchez, give him away in any deal and if there are no takers for him, just chuck him.
Something should be done with Torres in my opinion. He is not a good defensive infielder.
Let me go position by position. Catcher, Sanchez goes and we need a new catcher who can catch, make contact, hustle, and run. First base, Voit. Second base, Lemahieu his premier position. Shortstop, find one in FA or trade for one. Third base, Urshela. Outfield, trade Tauchman and Frazier (maybe for a shortstop). Torres left field, he won't get many ground balls to screw up or throw away. Stanton, Gardner, Hicks, Judge. That gives you five bodies, three play and one pinch hits.
Conclusion, with Torres in the outfield and Frazier gone the Yankees hopefully improve shortstop defense and don't lose much offensively there. Torres bat is much better than Fraziers so we improve there. The other four continue UNLESS a deal for a Hicks and or Stanton can be arranged (doubtful). Pitchers, we have a bunch and let them fight it out for rotation and reliever spots.
NJYANKEE, interesting, but does the Yankee front office have the guts to even try to do?
Rays down 3-2 with five innings done.
Final. Rays go down 4-3. Rays still lead series 3 games to 2.
Rays and Astros meet in game six tonight at 6:00 PM. Must win game for the Astros. Rays still have two of the four games left to win this series.
NJYANKEE, As fans we can pose anything. However, can Torres play the outfield? Is he willing to learn of even try to? Are the Yankees willing to find out? None of us have any inside information nor knowledge nor do we have any information about many other factors. All we can really do is live with what happens and how the powers that be in control resolve their decisions.
Rays lead 1-0 after 3.
Final game six Rays lose 7-4. After winning the first three games of this best of seven series the Rays then lost the next three and the series will be decided tonight in a one and done seventh game. WINNER goes to the World Series, the loser goes home and nothing else matters.
Rays and Astros meet in ALCS defining game seven tonight at 8:30 PM.
Rays lead 3-0 after 3.
Rays make it 4-0 after 6.
Final. Rays win 4-2 and will be going to the World Series.
Congrats to the Rays for going to the WS. One thing I've noticed about these last five or six teams, there is not much difference in them. Any of these last group could have wound up the best of the best. I say this because in viewing every game, I see the winning in losing as it does in almost every series comes down to who produces and who doesn't produce when the game is on the line. When you come down to which team wins or loses to just one or two when it matters most moments in these five and seven game series coming down to the last game and as I said one or two plays deciding the winners and losers these last few teams and players are unquestionably the best of the best in all of baseball. Forget the fake frauds like Mannythemooch, Mikeydeadfish, Brycesjustpayme. The highest paid losers in baseball. At least one of them made it to the playoffs this season. How did he do, 4 hits in 27 at bats. 2 singles, 2 home runs, 1 walk, 2 rbi's. Pathetic.
Watching this baseball playoff season reminds me just how great the game is. The Yankees have been eliminated but the games have been exciting and competitive and I love to see the success of players contributing and the sadness of the players who fail at the highest level. The losers who make fortunes failing are the joke of baseball and only highlight the ignorance of the stat frauds and their made up fake stats.
The 4a league teams Dodgers and Braves play game 7 tonight to see who goes to the world series and plays the Rays.
Go Braves.
Tampa and Atlanta world series would be great. Hate California and the LA/SF cities totally. Cesspools of humanity, corruption, ignorance, and morals. Not everyone, but far too many people and very likely at the very bottom of quality of life and family unless you are into cesspools of humanity, corruption, ignorance, and morals.
Cory, Mannythemooch, Mikeydeadfish, Brycesjustpayme. I just can't stop laughing, right at a billion dollars between them and they are revered by the ignorant baseball fans, the clueless media, and sycophant losers of life's lottery. But all three cashed in on losing and laughing all the way to the bank. I like Mikeydeadfish best of the three. 🤣🤣🤣🐬
Mikeydeadfish has played 10 seasons and only once he made the playoffs, hit 1-12 and lost.
Dodgers win 4-3. Dodgers-Rays World Series.
How about this stat frauds. Again your meaningless are useless. The seventh game of the NLCS was played last night and the winning losing team was decided more than likely on one play. Atlanta leading 3-2 and with men on 2nd and 3rd with no outs they do not score even when the man at bat reaches first base on a ground ball. Seems impossible you say. The batter hit a ground ball to the third baseman who who threw the ball to the catcher as the runner from 3b tried to score. The runner from 3b was tagged out in a rundown between 3b and home plate. In that few seconds, the runner from 2b who should have run to 3b didn't and as the runner from 3b was tagged out in the rundown between 3b and home plate, he the runner from 2b then decided to go to 3b and was tagged out sliding into 3b. That left the batter reaching first base on the grounder to the third baseman and the two runners from 2b and 3b both being tagged out running the bases. The ground ball hit by the batter created two outs, no runs scoring, and a runner at first base.
Hey frauds, put that in your stats you jerks.
There are so many scenarios that created the outcome of this single batted ball where the only outcome if the runners did not do what they did should have been men on second and third base with one out with the batter grounding out to third base and being thrown out at first base and the runners holding their bases.
Who to blame, in my opinion there are several choices but the biggest one to me was the runner on second base. Can you figure out why?
bigbadwolf, the stat frauds won't know. At worse, the runner on second should have run directly to third base when the runner on third base ran towards home plate. The runner on third would have been out either at home if he kept going or in the run down as he was. The batter would have reached first base as he did and the worst outcome should have been runners on first and third with one out.
Victor Grandozi, I was just going to post the exact same thing except for one thing. If the runner on third never broke for home the only play would have been the third baseman would have thrown the batter out at first still leaving runners on second and third base with one out. That would have been the best outcome for the Braves. Then who knows what happens.
The runner on third may have been ordered to run on contact. But no matter, it was the single biggest game defining event.
The runner on 3rd may have ran on his own which created the entire fiasco.

Off day today for World Series teams. Game six tomorrow and will be a must win game for the Rays.
Glasnow always looks hittable for a guy who throw a very high 90's fastball and a big breaking curveball. If he can develop he could be really good, maybe. Does throw a whole lot of pitches each game.
Snell will start tomorrow in a must win game for the Rays. 8:00 PM game time.
Biggest game of Snell's career tonight. Will he perform?
Rays lead 1-0 thru three.
Rays up 1-0 after 3.
Dodgers score twice in sixth and take 2-1 lead.
It's over, the fat lady is singing, the Los Angeles Dodgers have won the 2020 year of the Chinese virus World Series and are the best team with the best players are in baseball. Great job guys, enjoy what you have earned with wins and winning. Nothing else matters.
Final, Rays lose 3-1. The Dodgers are the World Champions.
Great series with some very exciting baseball.
Manfred getting booed unmercifully. He deserves it and has earned no respect from fans.
For all the other teams, it's wait till next year.
The naysayers, the doubters, the stat frauds, and the losers of life's lottery said it couldn't be done, but it was done and MLB did it. Sixty game season, a month of playoffs and a World Series Champion. Celebrate living and playing. Open up America.
Three and half months until spring camps open. Sports is shut down until then.
An unusable baseball season is over, now everyone go VOTE. It is a choice between a radical liberal left wing progressive socialist democrat or a lover of America and the American people who will allow you to be free to live life at its best. Vote TRUMP. Keep America the best it can be.
If you support democrats, liberals, progressives, socialists, you are a very sick person. If you vote for them you will get what they are doing to democrat controlled cities and states. You will get riots, burning, killing, destruction, burning, violence and the despair and ruination they bring. WAKE UP PEOPLE ..... Stop forever the scum of our nation, biden, obama, clinton, pelosi, schumer, shiff, weinstein, coons, blumenthal, blomberg, harris and so many foul disgusting lying democrat politicians. They win and the American people will lose, and the American people will lose everything that is good.
Keep in mind and remember sports fans. Individual stats do not determine the best players. Only winning determines the best players, be it a for a game, a series, a month, a year, or a career.
Ben Rosen/Israel, Well said and I agree. Believe it, live it, and shout it everyone who wants to keep America the best.
No baseball is not good. The only thing that can save this year is four more years of Trump.
No excuses, vote everyone, vote Traump.
China, Biden, Covid-19, corruption, despair, all equals.
German and Andujar playing winter ball in the Dominican Republic. Meatball also there with the goal of breaking the DR strikeout and passed ball records.
Time to say it. Kevin Cash the Tampa Rays manager made the worst decision in the history pf baseball in game six of the 2020 World Series when he took out his starting pitcher Blake Snell with a one run lead in the sixth inning, a runner on first base, and one out. It was not a question of Snell tiring or weakening or even showing signs of either. It was a move based on fake analytical stats created by the most ignorant stat frauds in the world, believed in and used by the most ignorant people in the world. There is no debate about this and the stat frauds need to be eliminated from the game of baseball. Bury stat frauds and their fans forever.
WIN METHOD knows more about baseball than all the stat frauds in the world including their most ignorant leader and father Bill James.
sid greenberg,nyc.......You are a very wise man. I always love your comments and perspective.
Ben Rosen/Israel, hear hear.
Cash made a stat fraud decision based on fake analytical numbers and it may very well have been the reason his team lost the World Series.
When you look at the word analytical you need only to take the first four letters to know how to describe stat frauds and their use and belief in individual numbers and made up fake stats.
Massive Trump rally in Tampa now. Vote Trump, save America. Ben Rosen/Israel is right, reread is comment above.
Reject Biden, Vote for the USA - Vote Trump 2020, 100% GOP Ticket - Now More Than Ever.
TRUMP 2020, freedom for the world.
NJYANKEE, good observation and association.
