WIN METHOD YANKEE BASEBALL SEASON 2020 shortened

Finally, it looks like we will have some semblance of a Major League Baseball season in 2020.  Baseball for 2020 was halted by a Chinese oriented deadly virus that is traveling the world and killing massive amounts of innocent people.  In March baseball was shut down as was most of America.  As most of America regains its footing and is starting to recover, so is baseball.

The MLB owners and the MLBPA (players association) yesterday have agreed to play a partial 2020 season commencing around July 23-24.   A second spring training will open July 1st, and each team will get in shape in their own home ballparks all across the nation.  There is tentatively a 60 game season that will be played.  There is always a probability what I post here may be amended by the owners, players, and baseball commissioner.  Each division will play 40 games in their own division.  That would make for 40 games, 10 with each rival in their division.  Each team would also play 4 games against each team in their opposite division for 20 games making for the total of a 60 game season.  The divisions will play each other geographically limiting travel.  East vs east, central vs central, and west vs west.  The regular season will end the last week of September.  As of now each division winner and two wild cards in each league will make the playoffs.  That is the same as the 162 game season.  The inferior AAAA national league will use the designated hitter for their games for the first time in baseball history.  The American League has used the designated hitter since April 6, 1973 when Ron Blomberg of the New York Yankees became the league's first ever designated hitter.  Also extra inning games will be started with a runner on second base which makes a mockery of the game and is a sham that demeans the game of baseball.  Not all changes are bad, however this change is bad.

The playoffs will conclude the season as usual hopefully ending in October.  In the end as it always has and hopefully always will the best players and best teams will reach the playoffs and then advance to the final series, the world's greatest sports event the WORLD SERIES.

The season without question will be shorter and different.  Look at it this way, every one of the sixty games becomes far more important and losing streaks will eliminate teams fast, while a big winning streak can carry a team right into the playoffs.  The players will need to get their heads fully into the season from the first game on.   The fun part is the WIN METHOD becomes even more important.  The players who produce when it matters most and do it the most often will lead their team through the season and into the playoffs.   Hopefully all goes well healthwise and the season can be completed.

No matter what, happens and as always, LETS GO YANKEES!

PS....thank you all, WIN METHOD fans from all over the world for your unwavering support, your comments, and for being the most intelligent baseball fans in the world.   The ignorance of the stat frauds  doesn't exist here.  They have no game.  They are  losers who love losing players.

Mario/Staten Island, wouldn't that leave Kratz and then all lefty hitters Tauchman, Wade, and Ford on the bench.

There are many baseball players who individually have amazing stats. How do you differentiate between them? The ones that are best are the players who help lead their team to the playoffs and then advance thru the playoffs.

Like the lineup but I would have Sanchez batting 8th. Boone must feel Sanchez is back into a contact mode, and to be honest it has looked that way for the past few days.

The seventh inning was our WIN METHOD produce when it matters most make or break moment. We failed, did not produce, and we lost. Simple as that stat frauds, simple as that. Wake up and learn WIN METHOD baseball and stop playing fantasy games with your fake stats.

bigbadwolf said...

Isn't great when you watch a game and know that the individual stats mean nothing and as the game progresses you see all the different players who have either produced when it mattered or failed when it mattered. Then at the end realizing the guys who produced at the biggest times won the game for their team.

Phil Jenkins said...

bigbadwolf, without doubt it is. You never know who or when will get their chance in the biggest spot. When a player for one team fails it means a player on the other team succeeded. Baseball is constant one on one wars all game long. Some games the tension carries all the way through the game from the first pitch and until the last. Every game is different. Other sports imitate but they just can't duplicate. No clocks in baseball. Each team knows they have a certain amount of chances every game.

Ernie Hassel said...

When you listen to Cone add his baseball wisdom and knowledge each game, it is amazing the stat frauds are so stupid. Pitchers from one game to the next can have vastly different results. Same with every hitter, fielder, both offensively and defensively. The competition is constant every game. There are ups and downs and every kind of streaks, good and bad. Tanaka had a rotten game. Why, who knows why, but you can see his pitches weren't really moving where he would have liked. So he got best up. Next game he may pitch several innings giving up very little.

Al Ashton said...

Last night Voit was batting in the one spot. He did hit a two run home run to get the Yankees back into the game, HOWEVER he also came up in the seventh innings with the bases loaded and one out and struck out in maybe the biggest spot of the game. Not knocking Voit, he did work the count to 3-2. Did Rays pitcher K'd him on a perfect pitch right at the bottom of the strike zone and won the battle. Urshela had his chance and grounded out to third base, inning over, rally over, failure when it mattered most for the Yankees. But success for the Rays pitcher and team.

Jill Byrnes said...

In my opinion the biggest factor of the WIN METHOD is every player on the team determines a teams won/loss record. Just because a player gets paid more than another player, that does not make him better than the lesser paid player in determining any teams won/loss record.

Tim Hergenraeder said...

Final. Yankees lose 4-2. Back to back games which document the WIN METHOD fact. You produce when it counts most, you win. You fail when it counts most, you lose. Back to back games and this is what happened. The Rays produced and the Yankees did not. The Yankees have lost the first two games of this three game series and all they have now is a chance to avoid a sweep of the series by salvaging a win in game three.

Yanks23245 said...

I wonder why the Yankees don't use a bullpen game today. Tanaka starts Friday in one game and
Monty in other game. The off day tomorrow resets the pen for Friday. Happ Saturday and bullpen games Sunday for the two seven inning games. Seven guys pitch two innings each gets the job done. And if Tanaka goes Friday he is still lined up to face the Rays Wednesday with Cole starting Monday and bullpen Tuesday. That is ten games from today thru Wednesday next week. I would take 6-4 and be very happy.

Ricky Romero said...

Boone has a lot on his plate. All those injuries wreaking havoc on pitching staff and position players. He also has to coddle meatball as to not upset him and make him whine to the front office.

Ralph--Yuma said...

The Yankees acquired catcher Rob Brantly from the Giants in exchange for cash considerations on Wednesday. Brantly has been added to the Yankees 60-man roster and to Scranton. Brantly needs to replace meatball as soon as possible or any other living breathing catcher. Also, Brantly is left handed bat. He's also a catcher, he's living, he's breathing, so he checks all the boxes.

Saul Irving said...

Ralph-Yuma, You forgot, Brantly can run faster than Sanchez and more than likely will hustle more than Sanchez. Can you just imagine him finding a new life on the right field porch.

Something is not right in Boone's thought process and I will not be able to accept any explanation he wishes to shove down our throat. Judge was DH last night for this game but he isn't today.

Some, not all, players when they get over paid and get multi-year contracts feel they are set for life and do not feel they have to work as hard to be the best they can be. I can go on and on about this about whose fault it is, but there is little point in doing so. Only one way to correct this in my opinion, and certain segments of our society will go berserk if it would happen, the same liberal progressive society that is trying to destroy America. Solution, go back to one year contracts. If any player does not like it, he is free to work in another profession. Cap the highest salary allowed to be paid to any one player and cap a teams salary that it can pay all its players. Absolutely no future payments, deferrals or anything similar will be allowed.

Baseball players need agility not strength.

Dustin Howell said...

I think the obsession with weight training is a big cause of this. As my dad always likes to tell me, players back in the 50s and 60s were told NOT to lift weights as this was seen as a bad thing for baseball players. My dad also played college baseball and his coaches at the time stressed the same exact thing.

Somewhere along the line that changed and it hasn't been for the better. We see videos of Stanton flipping over monster truck tires like he is training for a Strongman competition; what does any of this do for his baseball career? Those feats of strength are impressive but the NY Yankees are a baseball team, not taking part in Strongman contests. Judge and Stanton are clearly in phenomenal shape, but none of it matters if these guys cant perform there job because there bodies fall apart running the bases. Being ripped and looking like you belong on the cover of Fitness Magazine, means nothing in terms of your ability to stay on the baseball field.

Jimmy Thames said...

Dustin Howell, your father is right. Ballplayers back then if they had injuries, you never heard about them. they played through almost anything unless it was totally debilitating. Today's players are mostly overpaid musclebound prima donnas.

Wins mean everything. Nothing else matters.

Gordon Gecko, Wins are earned by every player on each team contributing in countless ways to help their team win. Be it offensively or defensively every play in every game determines which team wins and which team loses. There are situations in every game when it matters most and who produces (and it could be any player, not just the high paid ones} at those times will determine who wins.

Doug Parker said...

Could have just been a real bad game for Cole yesterday. But he was hit awfully hard. Also he has given up a lot of home runs so far this season. Batters seem to be free swinging at his pitches and although he is getting quite a lot of strikeouts he has not been dominating. Now throw in what he is getting paid for what he is doing and ask yourself, is he worth it. Or more important, is any player worth it.

Happ comes out in 8th and gets lead off batter. Otavino in gives up home run, 1-1.

Bottom of 9th. 1-1. We score we win. Facing old Yankee, Betances.

okiened said...

Yankees win 2-1. Kratz with men on first and third one out shows squeeze bunt and Betances throws wild pitch allowing winning run to score. Best part was Boone never used Sanchez in game. If Sanchez was in for Kratz, he K's.

Final. Yankees win 2-1 on walk of wild pitch. Jody Mercer single to right field sets up win. Happ with 7 1/3 brilliant scoreless innings deserved to win but get no decision keeping the Yankees in the game and giving them a chance to win. Voit first inning HR was all the Yankees scoring until the winning wild pitch.

third ten game series in the books and it was a horrid series for the Yankees.

1-10 8-2
11-20 6-4 = 14-6
21-30 3-7 = 17-13

Half the season over and another ten game series like this could mean not making the playoffs.

No starting pitchers named by Yankees yet for tomorrow's doubleheader.

Garcia and King will start for Yankees tomorrow. Sadly, Sanchez will catch a game.

It looks like the Yankees are holding Schmidt back because of service time.

Yoki said...

Last season in sixteen 10 game sets the worst set the Yankees had was 5-5 several times.

Two more seven inning games tomorrow.

Can we take two today? Only wins will get us to the playoffs. Losses send us home.

We may see a lot of arms today with two games and Garcia and King starting. Can't expect any more than three or four innings from each at best.

TBD Pitcher Garcia or King

NYY Lineup

DJ LeMahieu (R) 3B
Luke Voit (R) DH
Aaron Hicks (S) CF
Mike Tauchman (L) RF
Gary Sanchez (R) C
Mike Ford (L) 1B
Brett Gardner (L) LF
Jordy Mercer (R) SS
Tyler Wade (L) 2B

Lineup up but Boone can't figure out who to start. Sanchez the meatball black hole batting 5th instead of sitting on the bench. He should bat nowhere but in the eight hole. Plus in Mercer we have a shortstop that doesn't make errors, fielding or throwing.

King is starting first game.

Giambino said...

I would be ecstatic if King gives us five innings and gives up just 1 or 2 runs.

Outright release Gary Sanchez TODAY. He is not to blame for all the Yankees woes, he is just
a piece o garbage.

Randy Holt said...

Yankees score five runs in the bottom of the seventh capped by Hicks three run home run and game is tied at 7 all. Now to minor league rules extra innings.

Randy Holt said...

The useless meatball leads off the bottom of 8th with runner on second and pops up for another wasted at bat not able to move runner to third. Urshela with walk off RBI single with two outs for the 8-7 win.

will-i-am said...

Final. The Yankees win 8-7 in extra innings. Hicks 3 runs HR in 7th ties game and Urshela 2 out RBI single in 8th for the walk off win. Sanchez with yet another pathetic useless game offensively and defensively. I agree with YankeeBob. Release him and you lose nothing. Lets see who wants to sign him and pay him. We only have to pay him what we owe him for this season.

A Hicks (S) CF
C Frazier (R) RF
G Urshela (R) 3B
M Tauchman (L) LF

Deivi Garcia goes 6 innings allows 1 unearned run on 4 hits and leaves with a 1-1 tie score.

1-1 after 7. Extra innings of Rob Manfred little league mind baseball.

NJYANKEE said...

Bases loaded and one out and Boone sends up meatball to pinch hit for Kratz. Yep, the broken clock was right just at the right time. Grand slam for a 5-1 lead and Mets last at bats coming up.
