Finally, it looks like we will have some semblance of a Major League Baseball season in 2020. Baseball for 2020 was halted by a Chinese oriented deadly virus that is traveling the world and killing massive amounts of innocent people. In March baseball was shut down as was most of America. As most of America regains its footing and is starting to recover, so is baseball.
The MLB owners and the MLBPA (players association) yesterday have agreed to play a partial 2020 season commencing around July 23-24. A second spring training will open July 1st, and each team will get in shape in their own home ballparks all across the nation. There is tentatively a 60 game season that will be played. There is always a probability what I post here may be amended by the owners, players, and baseball commissioner. Each division will play 40 games in their own division. That would make for 40 games, 10 with each rival in their division. Each team would also play 4 games against each team in their opposite division for 20 games making for the total of a 60 game season. The divisions will play each other geographically limiting travel. East vs east, central vs central, and west vs west. The regular season will end the last week of September. As of now each division winner and two wild cards in each league will make the playoffs. That is the same as the 162 game season. The inferior AAAA national league will use the designated hitter for their games for the first time in baseball history. The American League has used the designated hitter since April 6, 1973 when Ron Blomberg of the New York Yankees became the league's first ever designated hitter. Also extra inning games will be started with a runner on second base which makes a mockery of the game and is a sham that demeans the game of baseball. Not all changes are bad, however this change is bad.
The playoffs will conclude the season as usual hopefully ending in October. In the end as it always has and hopefully always will the best players and best teams will reach the playoffs and then advance to the final series, the world's greatest sports event the WORLD SERIES.
The season without question will be shorter and different. Look at it this way, every one of the sixty games becomes far more important and losing streaks will eliminate teams fast, while a big winning streak can carry a team right into the playoffs. The players will need to get their heads fully into the season from the first game on. The fun part is the WIN METHOD becomes even more important. The players who produce when it matters most and do it the most often will lead their team through the season and into the playoffs. Hopefully all goes well healthwise and the season can be completed.
No matter what, happens and as always, LETS GO YANKEES!
PS....thank you all, WIN METHOD fans from all over the world for your unwavering support, your comments, and for being the most intelligent baseball fans in the world. The ignorance of the stat frauds doesn't exist here. They have no game. They are losers who love losing players.

The sux pitcher tonight is a lefty, Andujar in lineup and Estrada?? 9 men by position. All right handed hitters but one.
1b Voit, 2b Estrada, 3b Urshela, ss Torres, lf Gardner, cf Hicks, rf Frazier c Sanchez dh Gardner.
Mario/Staten Island, wouldn't that leave Kratz and then all lefty hitters Tauchman, Wade, and Ford on the bench.
There are many baseball players who individually have amazing stats. How do you differentiate between them? The ones that are best are the players who help lead their team to the playoffs and then advance thru the playoffs.

Must be Urshela's day off. Good call Mario, you weren't far off.
Guy Padikian, Thanks for the kind words. I'm not privy to when anyone will get a day off.
Wow, Frazier has come a long way in a couple of games. Batting in the 3-hole.
NEXT MAN UP
Yanks up 3-0 after 2.
Voit 2 run HR in 2nd has Yanks up 3-0.
Rain delay with sux batting in fourth.
One hour 23 minute delay. Back in action.
After rain delay, Estrada HR gives Yankees 4-1 after four.
Torres has to be close if not the worst shortstop in baseball. Six errors so far this season. And minimal range.
Andujar 0-3 but has 2 hard hit balls. Voit second HR in game. A solo shot. 5-1 thru 5.
Hicks HR in 7th puts Yankees up 6-2.
Chapman makes first 2020 appearance in 9th with Yanks up 6-2.
Final. Yankees win 6-3. Sweep four games from the sux.
Tanaka goes tonight for the Yankees in game one of a 3 game series against the Rays.
1. Would love taking this series with the Rays.
2. Defense needs to tighten up, especially Torres.
3. Nice to see Chapman back.
4. Next man up is very WIN METHOD.
5. Let's go Yankees.

Like the lineup but I would have Sanchez batting 8th. Boone must feel Sanchez is back into a contact mode, and to be honest it has looked that way for the past few days.
Any lineup that produces when it matters the most wins the game.
Always good to win game one, and game two, and game three.
However, no one ever has won them all. Streaks for a week or two, maybe once in a great while three weeks. But that is about as good as it gets.
Tanaka gives up 4 runs in 3rd leaving Yankees down 4-0 after 3.
Tanaka had nothing tonight and taken out in fifth. Yanks trail 6-3 after five.
Yankees load bases in 7th with one out. Voit K's. Urshela ground out. Did not produce when it mattered most.
Final. Yankees lose 6-3. Tanaka comes up empty and puts Yankees in big hole. Had a big chance in 7th but could not produce when it counted the most. First loss at home this season for Yanks.
It looked like Tanaka was throwing batting practice last night. So many hard hit balls where being barreled by the Rays.
Cole starts tonight to get us even with a win. This is what we got him for.
t
The seventh inning was our WIN METHOD produce when it matters most make or break moment. We failed, did not produce, and we lost. Simple as that stat frauds, simple as that. Wake up and learn WIN METHOD baseball and stop playing fantasy games with your fake stats.
Isn't great when you watch a game and know that the individual stats mean nothing and as the game progresses you see all the different players who have either produced when it mattered or failed when it mattered. Then at the end realizing the guys who produced at the biggest times won the game for their team.
bigbadwolf, without doubt it is. You never know who or when will get their chance in the biggest spot. When a player for one team fails it means a player on the other team succeeded. Baseball is constant one on one wars all game long. Some games the tension carries all the way through the game from the first pitch and until the last. Every game is different. Other sports imitate but they just can't duplicate. No clocks in baseball. Each team knows they have a certain amount of chances every game.
When you listen to Cone add his baseball wisdom and knowledge each game, it is amazing the stat frauds are so stupid. Pitchers from one game to the next can have vastly different results. Same with every hitter, fielder, both offensively and defensively. The competition is constant every game. There are ups and downs and every kind of streaks, good and bad. Tanaka had a rotten game. Why, who knows why, but you can see his pitches weren't really moving where he would have liked. So he got best up. Next game he may pitch several innings giving up very little.
Last night Voit was batting in the one spot. He did hit a two run home run to get the Yankees back into the game, HOWEVER he also came up in the seventh innings with the bases loaded and one out and struck out in maybe the biggest spot of the game. Not knocking Voit, he did work the count to 3-2. Did Rays pitcher K'd him on a perfect pitch right at the bottom of the strike zone and won the battle. Urshela had his chance and grounded out to third base, inning over, rally over, failure when it mattered most for the Yankees. But success for the Rays pitcher and team.
In my opinion the biggest factor of the WIN METHOD is every player on the team determines a teams won/loss record. Just because a player gets paid more than another player, that does not make him better than the lesser paid player in determining any teams won/loss record.
What great posts people. Our team loses a game and there is no whining and crying, just brilliant posts from so many explaining why without the Barbra Streisand stats.
Looking forward to see what tonight's lineup will look like.

Frazier over Tauchman facing a left hander. Lets go Yankees.
Production when it counts wins games. That's all folks.
Cole gets us even. One game at a time.
Let go Yankees. We need wins.
Yanks down 1-0 after 2.
Cole gives up two solo home runs in first three innings putting Yankees behind 2-0.
Voit gets one back with solo HR in 3rd. Yanks down 2-1 thru 3.
2-2 after 6.
Britton gives up 2 runs in 8th. Yanks down 4-2.
Final. Yankees lose 4-2. Back to back games which document the WIN METHOD fact. You produce when it counts most, you win. You fail when it counts most, you lose. Back to back games and this is what happened. The Rays produced and the Yankees did not. The Yankees have lost the first two games of this three game series and all they have now is a chance to avoid a sweep of the series by salvaging a win in game three.
Boone has to be managing to have the Yankees at full strength and ready for the playoffs, because if is not he is not a very good manager. Let's see how the rest of the season plays out.
Amazing how the same manager can be brilliant when the players produce when it matters most and look dumb as a rock when the players don't produce when it matters most.

Four lefty bats. We need a win or be swept by Rays.
Somebody, anybody needs to produce when it counts.
Voit first inning Ballantyne blast puts Yankees up 1-0 after one innings.
Injury update. Britton on the DL with a hamstring pull from last night. Torres taken out of todays game after running to first base in third inning. Replay shows him stumbling but not falling.
Paxton has pitched five innings allowing just one hit. The hit was when it mattered most and gave the Rays a three run inning and the lead 3-2 as the Yankees come to bat in the fifth.
Urshela 2 run homer puts Yankees back in front 4-3 after five innings.
Yankees down 8-5, six innings in the book.
Rays manhandling Yankees leading 10-5 as Yanks bat in 9th. Looks like a sweep.
Final. Yankees lose 10-5. Drop to second place in AL East Division. Next up the Mets.
The Yankees have placed ten players on the DL already this season.
Not only did Torres come up lame today, also Paxton too. Paxton was sore in his forearm and elbow. Both are getting MRI's to show the extent of the each's issue. Why not, after last season we should be used to it.
First game with Mets tomorrow night has been canceled do to a Met player and staffer testing positive with the Chinese virus. No decision on Saturday and Sunday yet.
What next?
Baseball players need to stop weight lifting and bodybuilding. Give me the old time hard nose player.
Chinese virus off day today. Some time to get every bodies head back into the game. Kratz with two solid singles yesterday. He makes twice as much contact as the meatball and strikes out less. Get rid of the stale meatball.
When Boone makes a decision he is making it with more information and advice at the highest level than any other person on the face of the earth. Second guessers need to remember that, especially those on the stat fraud sites.
Saturday and Sunday games with the Mets have also been canceled. Come on MLB, wake up you dummkopfs, play baseball.
Good news on Paxton issue. Not elbow or ligament damage, but is muscle in forearm.
As of now Yankees do not play again until Tuesday. MLB can always try to reschedule things.
Lou Lis, that is a downer.
Judge will be back and if Torres didn't pull anything he will be back. Can always give Schmidt a start if Paxton needs time off either on or off the DL. Seven inning double headers will come into play.
Torres, Paxton, and Avilan all placed on the 10 day DL.
Doesn't that make 13 players on the DL this season. In just 24 games. 30 last season and 13 this season is just not right. Something is screwed up.
Having your next series cancelled is no way to remove the memory of your last series.
Injury list the last two years has been ridiculous. If George was here, he’d fire Cashman if only for his bad luck.
Yanks back in first place without playing a game.
When one tries to do something that the human body is not designed to do, injuries will result. Players pushing their bodies for the almighty dollar.
Money money money the root of all evil.
Muscular bodies are not needed to play baseball well and be the best players.
We are going to have a heck of a lot of games to make up. Should have several double headers.
Judge will be in lineup Tuesday.
The way Torres was hitting and fielding losing him will be no loss. Having Judge back far more than makes up for the loss of Torres.
Cole/Tanaka named for Atlanta series.
This weekend in NY, the Yankees/Mets will play 5 games. Double headers Friday and Sunday around single game Saturday.
5 pitchers in 3 days. Wow!
Back to baseball tonight. Cole starts. Lets go Yankees.

Move Sanchez to eighth would be great. At least Judge is back in.
Judge being eased back being DH tonight.
Rained out.
Double header tomorrow in Atlanta. Off day Thursday. Double header at the Stadium Friday. Single game Saturday and then another double header Sunday. Seven games in five days. Six of the games are only seven inning games.
Lineups will now be easy for Boone. Lets see how he works out the rotation for the rest of this week and into next week with the Rays coming in for three games and not one off day until September 14th. Plus at minimum one other double header scheduled.
The metal and character of the Yankees will be tested going forward.
Two games in Atlanta this afternoon starting at 4PM. Cole and Tanaka starters. Both games are seven innings. Weather clear.
This baseball season will be one to remember. No matter what, I am glad they are playing and only wish they had allowed a limited amount of fans into the ballparks.
I wonder why the Yankees don't use a bullpen game today. Tanaka starts Friday in one game and
Monty in other game. The off day tomorrow resets the pen for Friday. Happ Saturday and bullpen games Sunday for the two seven inning games. Seven guys pitch two innings each gets the job done. And if Tanaka goes Friday he is still lined up to face the Rays Wednesday with Cole starting Monday and bullpen Tuesday. That is ten games from today thru Wednesday next week. I would take 6-4 and be very happy.
Boone has a lot on his plate. All those injuries wreaking havoc on pitching staff and position players. He also has to coddle meatball as to not upset him and make him whine to the front office.
The Yankees acquired catcher Rob Brantly from the Giants in exchange for cash considerations on Wednesday. Brantly has been added to the Yankees 60-man roster and to Scranton. Brantly needs to replace meatball as soon as possible or any other living breathing catcher. Also, Brantly is left handed bat. He's also a catcher, he's living, he's breathing, so he checks all the boxes.
Ralph-Yuma, You forgot, Brantly can run faster than Sanchez and more than likely will hustle more than Sanchez. Can you just imagine him finding a new life on the right field porch.
What the saddest part of wanting to use Brantly in the lineup is so many think he won't be worse than meatball Sanchez.

Something is not right in Boone's thought process and I will not be able to accept any explanation he wishes to shove down our throat. Judge was DH last night for this game but he isn't today.
With Cole pitching maybe felt Judge's bat would not be needed for the win. He will play in the second game where more runs may be needed.
Cole gives up lead off home run. Yanks down 1-0.
Cole gives up 2 run home run in 3rd. Yankees down 3-0.
Cole gives up another home run. Yanks down 4-0 in seven inning game.
I stand by something I have always said, no player is worth 30 million a season, not even 25 million, and in my opinion 20 million. And Cole may still be rated the best pitcher in baseball, but I would let any other team pay him and I'll stick with lower paid pitchers who will have the desire to beat him every chance they get.
Final. Yankees lose 5-1. Cole clobbered giving up all 5 runs in 5+ innings of poor work. Yanks only run was a home run from Voit. Second game of today's double header coming up with Tanaka starting.

Can Tanaka save the series? Judge in RF. We do need a win.
0-0 after 2.
Tanaka sharp over first four innings. No support yet and there is no score.
0-0 after 4.
Andujar single, Kratz (our best catcher) double, and Wade sac fly give Yankees 1-0 lead after five innings of a seven inning game.
Green in for the 6th inning and gives up 2 run home run putting Yankees down 2-1 and only one inning left.
Final. Yankees lose 2-1. A heartbreaking loss. Yankees lose doubleheader and look terrible doing so. Bright spot was Tanaka's five brilliant scoreless innings, but to no avail.
Is it possible the Yankees play themselves out of the playoffs?
Guy Padikian, as a great Yankee once said, "it ain't over until it's over."
Time for a team meeting. A serious team meeting.
Some, not all, players when they get over paid and get multi-year contracts feel they are set for life and do not feel they have to work as hard to be the best they can be. I can go on and on about this about whose fault it is, but there is little point in doing so. Only one way to correct this in my opinion, and certain segments of our society will go berserk if it would happen, the same liberal progressive society that is trying to destroy America. Solution, go back to one year contracts. If any player does not like it, he is free to work in another profession. Cap the highest salary allowed to be paid to any one player and cap a teams salary that it can pay all its players. Absolutely no future payments, deferrals or anything similar will be allowed.
The Yankee ship needs to be righted. I don;t know if Boone is the man to right it. Hope he is and does.
One giant negative is too many guys trying to hit too many home runs as far as they can. Just proves how great players like LeMahieu and Jeter and countless others are across all of baseball.
Baseball players need agility not strength.
I think the obsession with weight training is a big cause of this. As my dad always likes to tell me, players back in the 50s and 60s were told NOT to lift weights as this was seen as a bad thing for baseball players. My dad also played college baseball and his coaches at the time stressed the same exact thing.
Somewhere along the line that changed and it hasn't been for the better. We see videos of Stanton flipping over monster truck tires like he is training for a Strongman competition; what does any of this do for his baseball career? Those feats of strength are impressive but the NY Yankees are a baseball team, not taking part in Strongman contests. Judge and Stanton are clearly in phenomenal shape, but none of it matters if these guys cant perform there job because there bodies fall apart running the bases. Being ripped and looking like you belong on the cover of Fitness Magazine, means nothing in terms of your ability to stay on the baseball field.
Dustin Howell, your father is right. Ballplayers back then if they had injuries, you never heard about them. they played through almost anything unless it was totally debilitating. Today's players are mostly overpaid musclebound prima donnas.
Wins mean everything. Nothing else matters.
Gordon Gecko, Wins are earned by every player on each team contributing in countless ways to help their team win. Be it offensively or defensively every play in every game determines which team wins and which team loses. There are situations in every game when it matters most and who produces (and it could be any player, not just the high paid ones} at those times will determine who wins.
Could have just been a real bad game for Cole yesterday. But he was hit awfully hard. Also he has given up a lot of home runs so far this season. Batters seem to be free swinging at his pitches and although he is getting quite a lot of strikeouts he has not been dominating. Now throw in what he is getting paid for what he is doing and ask yourself, is he worth it. Or more important, is any player worth it.
It looks like several MLB teams have disgraced themselves by refusing to play their games today.
Imagine caring more about a game then taking a hard stance on an important issue.
Makes you wonder who the real disgrace is.
GOD BLESS AMERICA AND GOD BLESS DONALD TRUMP....VOTE TRUMP
Any team that did not play baseball in protest is an embarrassment and a disgrace. Law and order must be provided at the highest level and when it does not we allow violence, looting, destruction, pillaging, and murder to flourish. If that happens the people will perish and the scum radical liberal progressive garbage of this country will destroy a free America. Wipe out the violent militant protesters now and forever.
If a game is scheduled and a team refuses to play and the other team is there in uniform on the field and ready to play, isn't that a forfeit and you win 1-0.
Monty starting game one tonight. 4PM
Rob, there is no issue. There is only right and wrong. Any "issue" can be discussed, debated
and talked about. There is no middle ground to violence and destruction encouraged and supported by one side and law and order supported by the other side.
Seven inning games again. One more item to the possible ruination of baseball?
Ned Green, Manfred would probably overrule the forfeit because of political correctness. That would just be another black eye for baseball.
Dale Hoffman, well said and right on. Violence is an intimidation tactic used by those who have no valid point to discuss.
Violence must be squashed or it will destroy what is right and good. God bless America.
How come almost every game we play the opposing manager has his lineup ready and posted well before the Yankees and Boone? i'm sure Boone will have or make up an excuse.

will-i-am, I completely agree. Players win and lose games. Many times managers take the flack or praise for what their players accomplish on the field. But anyone who would play Sanchez and bat him in the cleanup spot is not very wise. So far this season Sanchez has come to bat with the bases loaded and not once did he put a ball in play.

Bottom of 9th. 1-1. We score we win. Facing old Yankee, Betances.
Yankees win 2-1. Kratz with men on first and third one out shows squeeze bunt and Betances throws wild pitch allowing winning run to score. Best part was Boone never used Sanchez in game. If Sanchez was in for Kratz, he K's.
Final. Yankees win 2-1 on walk of wild pitch. Jody Mercer single to right field sets up win. Happ with 7 1/3 brilliant scoreless innings deserved to win but get no decision keeping the Yankees in the game and giving them a chance to win. Voit first inning HR was all the Yankees scoring until the winning wild pitch.
third ten game series in the books and it was a horrid series for the Yankees.
1-10 8-2
11-20 6-4 = 14-6
21-30 3-7 = 17-13
Half the season over and another ten game series like this could mean not making the playoffs.
No starting pitchers named by Yankees yet for tomorrow's doubleheader.

It looks like the Yankees are holding Schmidt back because of service time.

Two more seven inning games tomorrow.

Lineup up but Boone can't figure out who to start. Sanchez the meatball black hole batting 5th instead of sitting on the bench. He should bat nowhere but in the eight hole. Plus in Mercer we have a shortstop that doesn't make errors, fielding or throwing.
King is starting first game.
I would be ecstatic if King gives us five innings and gives up just 1 or 2 runs.
Lets go Yankees.
Yanks up 1-0 after 2
2-2 after 4.
Outright release Gary Sanchez TODAY. He is not to blame for all the Yankees woes, he is just
a piece o garbage.
Yankees score five runs in the bottom of the seventh capped by Hicks three run home run and game is tied at 7 all. Now to minor league rules extra innings.
The useless meatball leads off the bottom of 8th with runner on second and pops up for another wasted at bat not able to move runner to third. Urshela with walk off RBI single with two outs for the 8-7 win.
Final. The Yankees win 8-7 in extra innings. Hicks 3 runs HR in 7th ties game and Urshela 2 out RBI single in 8th for the walk off win. Sanchez with yet another pathetic useless game offensively and defensively. I agree with YankeeBob. Release him and you lose nothing. Lets see who wants to sign him and pay him. We only have to pay him what we owe him for this season.
