Finally, it looks like we will have some semblance of a Major League Baseball season in 2020. Baseball for 2020 was halted by a Chinese oriented deadly virus that is traveling the world and killing massive amounts of innocent people. In March baseball was shut down as was most of America. As most of America regains its footing and is starting to recover, so is baseball.
The MLB owners and the MLBPA (players association) yesterday have agreed to play a partial 2020 season commencing around July 23-24. A second spring training will open July 1st, and each team will get in shape in their own home ballparks all across the nation. There is tentatively a 60 game season that will be played. There is always a probability what I post here may be amended by the owners, players, and baseball commissioner. Each division will play 40 games in their own division. That would make for 40 games, 10 with each rival in their division. Each team would also play 4 games against each team in their opposite division for 20 games making for the total of a 60 game season. The divisions will play each other geographically limiting travel. East vs east, central vs central, and west vs west. The regular season will end the last week of September. As of now each division winner and two wild cards in each league will make the playoffs. That is the same as the 162 game season. The inferior AAAA national league will use the designated hitter for their games for the first time in baseball history. The American League has used the designated hitter since April 6, 1973 when Ron Blomberg of the New York Yankees became the league's first ever designated hitter. Also extra inning games will be started with a runner on second base which makes a mockery of the game and is a sham that demeans the game of baseball. Not all changes are bad, however this change is bad.
The playoffs will conclude the season as usual hopefully ending in October. In the end as it always has and hopefully always will the best players and best teams will reach the playoffs and then advance to the final series, the world's greatest sports event the WORLD SERIES.
The season without question will be shorter and different. Look at it this way, every one of the sixty games becomes far more important and losing streaks will eliminate teams fast, while a big winning streak can carry a team right into the playoffs. The players will need to get their heads fully into the season from the first game on. The fun part is the WIN METHOD becomes even more important. The players who produce when it matters most and do it the most often will lead their team through the season and into the playoffs. Hopefully all goes well healthwise and the season can be completed.
No matter what, happens and as always, LETS GO YANKEES!
PS....thank you all, WIN METHOD fans from all over the world for your unwavering support, your comments, and for being the most intelligent baseball fans in the world. The ignorance of the stat frauds doesn't exist here. They have no game. They are losers who love losing players.

WIN METHOD led the world and he built his evaluation tool by talking with Yankee players from the late 1950's until the present. George Steinbrenner believed in him and has reaped the rewards of dealing with WIN METHOD.
Stat frauds make up formulas while WIN METHOD deals in reality.
I wish we would have played tonight. I also do not like a double header and I do not like seven inning games. But that is what we have to play through. So does the team we are playing.
What I like best about this site, is there are no popups or advertising and no selling of anything. The blog is amazingly positive unless someone post something controversial to try to incite an issue. How anyone can be against wins and winning is astounding in itself. We don't have that here. We leave that to the posters at the second and third rate sites. There can only be on number one and the WIN METHOD blog is unquestionably number one.
yankeefan2, I second that, no question.
Lets take two.
Something new tonight in MLB. Seven inning games between Philly and Yanks.
Still no pitchers listed by Yankees for today.

Gleyber Torres (R) SS
Mike Ford (L) 1B

Mike Tauchman (L) RF
Kyle Higashioka (R) C
Brett Gardner (L) LF
Stanton out. Judge DH. Andujar 3B. Ford 1B.
Happ is starting first game. Interesting lineup, but those not starting game one will be starters in game two. And some will start both games.
Four lefty bats in lineup and Higashioka who can hit.
Andujar playing third base saves run on diving snare of low line drive in second inning.
Higgy line single and Gardner home run give Yankees 3-0 after two.
Yanks up 3-0 after 2.
Happ implodes in 3rd, gives everything back and more allowing 4 runs.
Yanks down 4-3 after 4.
Phillies still batting in 6th and it's a rainbow game for them leading 11-3.
Gus Papa, if you are going to lose I'd always rather lose like this than by a run or two. Now we need to win the nightcap.
Final. Yankees lose 11-7. Really didn't need those last 4 runs but gave stat frauds a thrill.

Except for Sanchez, this is a stronger lineup than in first game. Need a win to get back on track.
Here is the first of six, ten game series results.
Games 1-10 8-2
Excellent start to the 2020 season, be it as it may.
Scoreless after one.
All even at 1 thru three innings.
Five complete still 1-1.
Yankees with a big inning developing in 7th for the win?
Final. Yankees win 3-1. Tauchman with game winning hit.
Yanks at Philly tomorrow 6PM. Montgomery starter.
What was best with the winning rally last night was it was done without any home runs, just base hits when it mattered most to win the game. Everyone contributes.
Friday, Saturday, and Sunday we go to Tampa and play the Rays four games with no weather worries and will have completed a quarter of the season. There is a doubleheader Saturday afternoon. Tanaka, Cole, Paxton, and ???? are the starters as of now.
Excellent job from our bullpen last night. Seven innings of one run ball for the win. Kudos to Loaisiga, Avilan, Green, Ottavino, and Britton. Only three hits allowed and one walk.
Periods of heavy rain in Philadelphia this morning and afternoon. Looks like it may be OK for game tonight with some luck. Field is tarped and will be playable.
Major League rosters must be reduced from 30 players to 28. So the Yankees have optioned Miguel Andújar, Thairo Estrada and Nick Nelson to the their AAA Scranton facility. That leaves an open spot on the roster. Likely for Chapman any day now, and/or someone to move up from AAA until Chapman is ready.
If AAA is playing real intrasquad type games, Andujar should see more live pitching. He needs to regain his batting eye.
I wonder how the players are liking or not the regional play eliminating cross country flights and time zone changes.
MLB has decided to allow the rosters to stay at 28 for the rest of the season.
The Yankees signed RHP Nick Tropeano to a Major League contract and added him to the active roster today while transfering Tommy Kahnle to the 60-day injured list.

LeMahieu off and Wade at 2B. Judge off and Tauchman in RF. Torres dropped from 3 spot to 5 hole. Meatball Sanchez, one of the worst hitters in baseball still in lineup but down to batting 8th. Maybe he will connect tonight. Nice lineup considering your two best hitters are not in it.
Hey, we always have DJ and Judge to come up off the bench if needed. The lineup is original and interesting.
My opinion only. I think Gary MEATBALL Sanchez is a whiner. I think he got Girardi fired. I also think Boone is maybe afraid to discipline and or take him to task.
Lets go Yankees.
Monty gives up 3 run HR in first. We will need a comeback win today.
Yankees trailing 5-2 after three. Monty struggling. 74 pitches over three innings.
Still down 5-2 thru 6.
Sanchez opposite field 2 run HR. Now a 5-4 game.
Final. Yankees lose 5-4. Gave it a try in ninth as Voit flies out for the third out to deep right center with two men on. On to Tampa.
Tough loss tonight. Voit missed HR for lead in 9th by a fraction of an inch.

White Knight, funny, good find. Biteme was always a lying dishonest crook all his life. Never did a bit of good for anyone but himself. Vote Republican this November or we are all doomed.
Blabber mouth and has always been an imbecile. God help us.
Tanaka makes his first start of the season tonight in Tampa in the first of a four game series.
Would be great if Yankees can take this four game series with Rays, but a split would be acceptable.
Al Ashton, that is what jumping out in front does for a team. Especially with a shorter season. Once in front all you need to do is hold your own. Wins will do that, losses don't.
Tanaka putting up a good four or five innings would be a help to the staff. One run or less.

Lets take game one of four.
At least the two best bats are back in.
Three inning pitchers duel. No score.
0-0 after 4.
Five innings complete. 0-0 and only one hit in game and Rays have it.
Tanaka out after five scoreless one hit innings. Great start. Yankees get their first hit in sixth but don't score. Cessa in and throws a scoreless sixth. Still 0-0.
Yankees load bases in 7th with 2 out and Sanchez (when it matters most) K's on 3 consecutive fast balls down the middle. Rays showed no fear of his bat and just made a fool of him. Where is Higashioka?
Cessa with another scoreless inning in relief. 0-0 after seven.
Ottavino in for 8th and gives up run. Yanks down 1-0 thru 8.
Yanks go down 1,2,3 in 9th. Lose 1-0.
Final. Yankees lose 1-0.
Two, one run losses in a row. Not good. Cole in game one of double header tomorrow.
The run was given up because of a wild pitch. However, the pitch could have and should have been caught by our meatball catcher. Let Higgy catch both games tomorrow.
We say this several times a season. When you are playing your best you are not that good, and when you are playing your worst you are not that bad.
Need wins and we have the right guy going for us in game one in Cole.

Hicks out. Ford in 3 hole. What's the over under on meatball striking out 2 1/2 times today. I got over and not happy about it.
over
Over, but only if meatball has at least three plate appearances.
Under. I'll be positive. He K's 2x, makes contact 1x and hoping he gets HBP.
Over.
I don't care what Sanchez does as long as we win. I can only hope he helps the team somehow. So I'll take the UNDER.
Over, I say very sadly.
Over. Lets go Yankees.
Sanchez first at bat comes with bases loaded and one out. He K's on a ball at minimum six inches high. Another epic fail when it counts. Last two at bats, one last night and one today, both with bases loaded and he doesn't touch the ball. HIGASHIOKA pleas every game.
0-0 after 2.
Ford 2 run HR for a 2-0 in 3rd.
Urshella 2 run double in third for a 4-0 lead.
Sanchez with runner at second and two out flies out to short right field to end inning. But Yanks do score four for a 4-0 lead mid third.
The Meatball Sanchez fun question is null and void. I forgot it was a seven inning game.
Cole pulled after 4 2/3 innings giving up 3 runs in the 5th and throwing 107 pitches. He was not sharp today. Yanks up 5-3 thru 5.
Judge 2 run homer in 6th gives Yanks 7-3 lead.
Final. Yankees win game one of double header 8-4.

Kratz up and catching because Higgy on DL with oblique tear.
Yanks trail 1-0 after 2.
Down 3-1 after 4.
Yankees now trail 5-1 thru five.
Final. Yankees lose 5-3. Down 5-1 Yankees rally for 2 runs and Judge flies out to left center field fence as tying run to end game. Need win tomorrow to split this four game series.
Yankees need win tomorrow. Paxton starts 1PM game.
We have to do better.
Sanchez has to go.
Stanton also on the DL now. He tweaked his hamstring. Another over developed muscle bound twit? Looks that way.

With Stanton out the DH spot is wide open.
In a short season this game could have some ramifications. If the Rays win and take three of four games from the Yankees they will be on a high. Plus they can build on the fact that the game they lost they did beat up and knock out our ace in the fifth inning. For the Yankees a win will mean they split a four game series with a very good top contender team, held their own and knocked four games off the schedule while not losing any ground to their prime competition. All of this may be moot since it is very likely both teams will make the playoffs. And may never get to face each other in the playoffs.
More than anything Paxton needs to show he can still pitch. There should be no reason successful surgery on a back issue should affect his velocity as much as it seems to have so far. I would also think that such a decrease in velocity should easily have been noted in bullpen sessions. Maybe the Yankees and Blake have an ace up their sleeves.
Yanks up 1-0 after 2.
Yanks up 1-0 after 4.
Paxton alive today. Up 1-0 thru 4 innings with 8 K's.
Yankees leading 3-0 after six. Paxton has been brilliant. One hit, 11 K's, 77 pitches.
The Yankees have several chances today for several runs but have been unable to produce when it counts and drop the hammer on the Rays.
Paxton possibly stretched one inning to far today and he gives up 3 runs in 7th. Game tied 3-3. Yanks need to wake up and score. This would be a bad game to lose after leading 3-0.
3-3 after 8.
Final. Yankees lose 4-3. Boone blows game. And this is no second guess comment or opinion. I was watching the game with five other guys and everyone of us said there was no way Paxton would come out for the seventh inning. Reason, common sense and logic. He had two starts and hadn't thrown enough pitches to warrant being pushed into the 80-90 pitch count. Heck, Cole in his fourth start over pitched his count to 100 just to try to finish five innings and get a win. This is Boones loss, no doubt about it. No second guess, but six guys all on the same page before Paxton threw a pitch in the seventh inning.
Hope this game is a wakeup call for the team.
Here it is baseball fans. The WIN METHOD explained and defined in a four game series. Two teams each scored 14 runs in the series. One team won 3 games and lost 1. The other team won 1 game and lost 3. WHY?? The team who won 3 games produced the most often when it mattered. The team that won 1 game did not produce when it mattered but failed the most when it mattered. How many times has it been shown over and over that producing when it matters most by players of a team will help their team win games. The teams who produce the most when it matters will win the most games. Winning the most games is the only thing that gets a team to the playoffs. In the playoffs only the teams that win each series move on until the final two teams are left. Again, the team that wins the final series is the World Champions and the best in baseball. It does not matter how many or how much any player attains for himself. It only matters what he attains when it matters most and his team wins. You are only the best when you win, for a series, aweek, a month, or for the season.
When WIN METHOD the best talent evaluator in baseball speaks the smart baseball fans listen and learn. The dumb baseball fans play fantasy baseball and man made, made up stats.
I really don't believe it's a coincidence that the best version of Sanchez was when Girardi was here. The Girardi that rode him and was hard on him. The Girardi that supposedly Gary didn't like and complained about. Cashman moved on from Girardi because he wanted Boone in here to play nice with everyone and be a yes man. Ever since then, Sanchez has gotten worse and been awful.
WIN METHOD, it looks like you are a little irritated. Don't blame you, but you know the ship will sail straight again. Love ya,
will-i-am, I agree. Paxton had two starts and only pitched a total of four innings, one and then three. Was shelled in both outings. I would have been happy with his five great innings. Six was pushing the envelope. Seven was the straw that broke the camel's back
Boone may be the nicest guy in the world but Girardi is a better manager. Over analyzed stats put in perspective are pretty much meaningless. The players still have to perform on the field, perform when it matters most, and play baseball. You can do anything on paper. There's a whole lot of baloney being thrown around by the stat frauds.
What a great conversation after getting beat by the Rays. Best Yankee site on the internet. We will recover and we will win it all.
Putting things simply, the team that won 3 games performed when it mattered the most. The team that won 1 game did not.
Off day tomorrow.
We lead our division, we will make the playoffs, all is fine Yankee fans. Don't worry be happy.
Atlanta coming to town tomorrow.
Montgomery and Tanaka named starters for Tuesday and Wednesday games against Atlanta.
Let's get back on the winning track.
Did any talking head ever ask Boone to explain why he left Paxton in so long?

It is what it is. Nothing I can do about it. Earn the win guys, that's all that counts.
Time for a win.
First inning three run home run by Voit gives Yankees early lead.
Yanks up 3-0 after two.
Yankees rolling to a laugher. Lead 8-0 after 5 innings.
Monty gives up 3 run HR in sixth. Yanks hold 8-3 lead.
Yanks up 8-3 after 6.
Final. Yankees win 9-6. Yankee bullpen kept Atlanta in game. Winning is what counts.
Do it again tomorrow.
Tanaka tomorrow night.
Also last night Torres with another error at shortstop. Meatball 0-4 with 2 more K's.
Look for Clint Frazier's name in the lineup any game now. Maybe tonight?
jimbo, from what I have heard and read no one challenged Boone.
If Frazier is in as a the catcher I can live with that.
yankeelover, that would solve a whole of problems. 1. No more black hole in the lineup. 2. More speed on the base paths. 3. Frazier gets his MLB shot in real time. 3. More agile catcher defensively. One issue, Frazier isn't a catcher.
I do not think there is any problem making the playoffs. The Yankees are likely going to try to get the pitching staff totally healthy and in peak form for the playoffs. They are not stupid, despite what the stat frauds think and say, and they will have a plan. Then it is up to the players on the field to preform when it matters most.
Sadly I think Frazier is a liability defensively. If his bat can overshadow his defense by a large enough margin then he is viable.

Frazier in RF and no Judge. But Sanchez plays and bats in front of Frazier. Lets win another game.
If we didn't let Romine go we would have a very strong catcher.
Produce when it counts guys equals a win.
Tanaka allows 2 run HR in 2nd. Sanchez and Frazier hit back to back HRs to lead off the bottom of 2nd. 2-2 and batting.
2-2 after 2.
How about this. Yankees have 2 solo home runs in first two innings, BUT have also left the bases loaded in both innings unable to deliver a hit when it mattered the most.
Yanks up 4-2 after 4.
Loaisiga in for fifth inning. Tanaka not sharp tonight and had to work hard over four innings.
Yanks up 6-2 after 6.
Frazier has had one fine night in his MLB return.
Yanks up 6-2 after 8.
Final. Yankees win 6-3. Nice 2020 debut by Clint Frazier.
Off day today and then a four game wrap around weekend series with the sux at Yankee Stadium. All night games Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. I wouldn't expect less than winning three of the four.
LeMahieu 4-5 and Frazier 3-4 had a very game. Heck, even meatball got a hit and it was a home run to start the Yankee scoring.
Cole will start game one versus the sux tomorrow.
I am not one to look past a series, but I am looking forward to payback when the Rays come to the Stadium.
Wouldn't it be great if Frazier finally comes of age and attains his potential this season.
No bueno off days.
One thing for sure the sux won't make the playoffs this season.
Why does it take so long for Boone to put out the lineup every game. The other team 9 of 10 times has their lineup out before he does.

No Judge again.
Judge placed on the 10 day DL with a "mild" right calf strain. Amazing.
Yankees leave the bases loaded again in first inning without scoring.
Yankees lead 5-1 after five. Sanchez 2 run homer in fifth.
Yanks open 8-1 lead thru 7.
Final. Yankee win 10-3. Cole seven innings 95 pitches 1 run 0 walks 4 hits 7 K's.
Paxton starts tonights game. Lets go Yankees.
If Paxton has turned the corner we will be in better shape. Lets see how he performs tonight.
The Yanks get to face out friend Nathan Eovaldi tonight.
I think the Yankees knowing they will make the playoffs are using an abundance of caution to make sure their 'stars' are ready and in peak form for the playoffs. Don't fret stat frauds, you all don't know your head from your foot.
Wins are all that count.
Considering all the outfielders the Yankees have, Gardner needs to lead them all this season because he is the team leader, inspiration, and glue that keeps everything together.

Urshela 2 run HR gives Yankees 2-0 in first inning.
FACT:--Gary Sanchez has set a NY Yankee record. Over the history of the Yankee team in any players first 19 games no player has done worse than Sanchez with the most strikeouts and highest strikeout rate and the lowest batting average.
Paxton gives up 3 in 3rd. 3-2 sux.
Sanchez hits 2 run home run in 4th and puts Yankees back on top 4-3.
Paxton has been iffy over four innings so far.
It looked as if LeMahieu tweaked his wrist on a swing making the final out in the fourth but is still in the game. Let's see what comes of this. Hopefully nothing.
LeMahieu does come out to play the field in sixth inning. Oh oh.
Frazier 6th inning 3 run HR gives Yanks 7-3 lead and batting.
Seven innings in the books. Yanks lead 11-3.
Final. Yankees win 11-5. Paxton gets the win. Frazier gets 5 RBI's.
Second ten game series over.
1-10 8-2
11-20 6-4 = 14-6
6-4 is OK, and over a season will carry a team to the playoffs.
Report on LeMahieu is thumb sprain and not a wrist issue. Getting an MRI.
Like every season, we will play through any and every obstacle. The injuries mount, next man up. Up, up, and away we go to the playoffs.
Happ starting tonight's game.
X-ray on LeMahieu comes up negative which is good, but really does not determine anything but that the thumb is not broken.
Heavy rains in Bronx now but it looks like it will clear out by 3PM so game should be on for tonight.
LeMahieu placed on the DL. Andujar called up. Should be an interesting lineup tonight.

Ursala Pei, Still have a lot of home run power in the lineup.
Let's see what Happ gives us tonight.
Yanks up 2-0 after 2.
Yanks up 4-1 after 6.
Yankees still up 4-1 after seven. Ford has knocked in 3 of the 4 runs tonight.
Final. Yankees win 4-2. Happ goes 5 2/3 innings for the win allowing just one run. Ford 2 run HR and 3 RBI's.
Monty starts tomorrow nights fourth game of this sux series. Yankee will be trying for a four game sweep with 1/3 of their starting lineup on the DL.
