WIN METHOD --- MID SEASON 2019 --- GREAT NEWS TWO TIMES

We are halfway thru the 2019 baseball season and the YANKEES are in first place, playing great WIN METHOD baseball while overcoming countless injuries to so many vital players, some of which who haven't played an inning so far this season.  Players have stepped up with almost everyone producing when it counts most and winning games.  We all know wins and winning are the only stats that matter.   We here laud and praise winning players and teams while the stat frauds and talking heads laud losing players for what the losers accomplish for themselves.  Then to defend their adoration of the high stat losers, the frauds blame the players teammates.   As the YANKEES enter the second half of the 2019 season the team just needs to keep winning and keep playing WIN METHOD baseball.

YANKEE management is on the prowl for an acceptable starting pitcher to sign before the July 31st deadline.  There are only a couple WIN METHOD qualified pitchers available so many of the names being thrown around will not be a Yankee.  Hopefully things will work out and the Yankees will get what they want.  It takes two parties to make a deal, unless you are foolish and overpay and wind up not getting a decent deal.

The other great news is, this morning the YANKEES  have signed a sixteen year old named Jasson Dominguez from the Dominican Republic.   All I can say is WIN METHOD, WIN METHOD, WIN METHOD.  Jasson's father is a lifelong YANKEE fan.  The YANKEES had to pay a pretty penny for Jasson.  Somewhere around a five million dollar signing bonus because he was coveted by many other MLB teams.   Jasson reminds me of Mickey Mantle.  For you younger fans here, look up what Mickey Mantle did over his career to help lead the YANKEES to great success for many seasons.  I am very pleased with this signing and hoping Jasson blooms and grows achieving greatness in helping lead the YANKEES in future years.

Thank you WIN METHOD fans for your never ending support on this blog.   You all live in reality, and you all know baseball, and you all know wins and winning determines the best players and the best teams.  As the YANKEES play these final three months of the regular season, lets all root for and support our NY YANKEES.    LETS GO YANKEES.

Sharon/NC, I believe King has no seen any action yet at the MLB level. He may get some innings in these last five games.

Jordan Montgomery to start tonight's game that is meaningless for the Yankees.

1-1 after 11. Line score is same for both teams. 1 run 6 hits 0 errors.

will-i-am said...

Final. Yankees lose 2-1 in 12th. Billygoat, Gearrin, he only had to face one batter. Yankee lineup managed just one run on Maybin home run and never really threatened the entire game.

yankeedoodledandy said...

What a difference in the intensity of last nights game for me. One team playing for the playoffs, and the other playing out the season preparing for the playoffs. The Yankees looked as if they were playing a spring training game with almost a new pitcher every inning and using almost every player available getting into the game.

Hugh Johanson said...

Loaisiga starting tonight. Will we see Michael King?

Giambino said...

I am getting a little tired of seeing Gearrin and Lyons in a Yankee uniform. But they are saving innings off the arms of the good pitchers. There is always a logical reason for a managers decision.

Teena/Bronx said...

I have tickets for first Yankee playoff game at Stadium.

Jonathan Loaisiga RHP

G Torres (R) 2B
D Gregorius (L) SS
L Voit (R) 1B

T Wade (L) LF

Yanks need a win to split a series that has no meaning for them, but means a lot for Rays.

Jack Gordon said...

I don't care if we win or lose these last few games, but I still would like to see some hitting and runs scored. You score one run in 12 innings and you will lose 19 out of 20 games.

Gary Shrieber said...

Happ will follow Loaisiga tonight.

Wilsonsway said...

I would think Loaisiga just pitched himself off the post season roster, being hit hard and giving up 2 runs in first inning while showing little.

candycane said...

Yanks down 2-0 after 2.

candycane said...

Yanks down 3-0 after 6.

will-i-am said...

Final. Yankees lose 4-0. Lose series 2 games to 0. In 21 innings in Tampa these two games the Yankees scored just 1 run. I guess they are saving it all for the playoffs when the games matter again. Happ with a solid five innings of work allowing 1 run. Torres has looked lackadaisical and pathetic in the field.

Cory said...

Off day tomorrow and then final three games of the regular season with a weekend series in Texas with the Rangers. Paxton, Louie Louie, and Tanaka slated to start.

bigbadwolf said...

Don't worry about hitters in meaningless games. The Yankees are working on what pitchers will be on the post season roster. They already know what position players will be on the roster.

Arnies Army said...

These past two games in Tampa may have determined the faith of several on the bubble Yankee pitchers as to whether or not they will be part of the playoff roster.

okiened said...

Teena/Bronx, with you at game one the Yankees will be up 1-0 after the game.

Steve said...

Nothing defines the WIN METHOD more than so many teams playing so many games at the close of each season that are so meaningless. Makes individual stats extremely false and also meaningless. Even many games for playoff teams who are just playing out the regular season, as they plan and set their pitching rotation and options in certain game scenarios and setting their rosters. The best of the best will rise to the top only by producing when it matters most and winning games. Only one team will win 11 games. WINS rule anything else is for the fools.

Benny Pake said...

Depending how far Boone lets the starters go in each game I can see the Yankees winning this series with the Rangers.

Doug Shoen said...

Last series and last three games of our 162 game season this weekend in Texas. Everyone stay healthy.

bigbadwolf said...

Steve, your post puts a dagger thru the heart of stat frauds. Barnum and Bailey said there is a sucker born every minute, and that defines the stat frauds, especially the ones who think the best players are career losers. Every decade is different and the rules of baseball have changed over the decades. So there are variations in qualifying as a great player over the decades.

Mario/Staten Island said...

Stat frauds are gutless bottom feeders who talk garbage, do not know much if anything about baseball and what it takes to win. They are dumb sheep created by the fraud Bill James.

Guy Padikian said...

James Paxton LHP

G Torres (R) SS
L Voit (R) 1B
G Sánchez (R) C
B Gardner (L) CF
G Urshela (R) 3B
C Maybin (R) RF
M Ford (L) DH

Judge out. Sanchez back.

Cory said...

We need a win "tonight".

Yankeeforever said...

Paxton leaves after one inning???????????????? Gave up 2 run home run. Did not look comfortable.

MAWRY said...

Heeeeeeeeeeeee's back. Meatball K's 3 times in 3 at bats and looks horrible.

Patrick Healy said...

Paxton left after one inning because of a tight glute.

YankeeMike said...

Michael King makes his MLB debut in 7th inning tonight. Three up three down and three weakly hit outs.

will-i-am said...

Final. Yankees win 14-7. Yanks hit six home runs. Chance only Yankee pitcher to fail miserably getting just one out and allowing 4 runs in 9th inning. Cortes in 9th comes in and throws 3 pitches to get final 2 outs. Bad notes, Paxton glute issue, Sanchez 3 K's, Adams can't complete an inning.

YankeeMike said...

King looked real good and had great movement on his pitches.

The 2019 season in ten game segments.
Games:
01- 10 ...... 5 - 5
11- 20 ...... 5 - 5 = 10-10
21- 30 ...... 7 - 3 = 17-13
31- 40 ...... 7 - 3 = 24-16
41- 50 ...... 9 - 1 = 33-17
51- 60 ...... 5 - 5 = 38-22
61- 70 ...... 5 - 5 = 43-27
71- 80 ...... 9 - 1 = 52-28
81- 90 ...... 6 - 4 = 58-32
91-100 ...... 7 - 3 = 65-35
100-110 ..... 6 - 4 = 71-39
111-120 ..... 8 - 2 = 79-41
121-130 ..... 5 - 5 = 84-46
131-140 ..... 7 - 3 = 91-49
141-150 ..... 7 - 3 = 98-52
151-160 ..... 5 - 5 = 103-57

The Yankees needed the win last night to be 5-5 this ten game segment. A loss would have meant a losing segment and would have been the first and only losing segment of the season.

Playoffs begin for the Yankees next Friday at Yankee Stadium against another 100+ win team, he Minnesota Twins. Lets go Yankees.

Bud Light said...

Louie Louie goes tonight in his last start before the playoffs.

Linda Rice said...

The Yankees were 52-28 for the first half and 51-29 for the second half. Never had a ten game segment under .500 ball. Ups and downs for sure but nothing devastating in the down column while posting three truly great ten game segments in the up column. And five 7-3 ten game segments which is championship style baseball.

Hobbs said...

Hey there stat frauds. Where did your high dollar Machado and Harper lead their teams to? No playoffs? Their teammates fault? They both are negatives on the WIN METHOD grade. Thirty million dollars a year losers that would have hurt the Yankees in 2019 and longer. Just not among the best players.

Final day of the MLB 162 game 2019 regular baseball season. Only wins have shown who the best teams and best players are and they are the teams and players headed to the playoffs. Congratulations to all these teams and players.

Chad Green being used as starter for today's game and likely followed by Tanaka. Also should see all top relievers for an inning each. If no one cracks, Yankees may not give up any runs.

G Urshela (R) 3B
C Maybin (R) LF

Last regular season game, albeit a meaningless one.

Walt Belamy said...

Gary "MEATBALL" Sanchez throwing error in first inning gives Rangers a run and puts runner on third with no outs, but Green K's next two batters and gets third out on pop fly saving further damage. The Yankee pitchers do not need to be put in a position to pitch under that kind of pressure because of one of the worst defensive catchers in baseball.

VincentVanGoYankees said...

Tanaka in for the second inning.

yankeeclipper said...

Judge 3rd inning HR ties it at one.

Norm Jackson said...

Tanaka surrenders 2 runs in 3rd putting Yanks down 3-1 thru 3.

Dean Muskowski said...

Kahnle in for the 5th inning.

Andrew J said...

Kahnle not sharp and gives up 2 runs. Yankees down 5-1 after 5.

Dean Muskowski said...

Ottavino on for the 6h.

Andrew J said...

Ottavino not sharp either giving up a run, but hurt by a garbage play by Torres at second base.

will-i-am said...

Final. Yankees lose 6-1 in yes, a meaningless game. Yankees finished regular season playing their 'worst' baseball of the season. Just more ammunition on just how meaningless individual stats are.

Patricia Piper said...

The three American League Division winners all won over 100 games. The two wild card teams won 97 and 96 games. Wow!

Warren Hammond said...

I enjoyed Buck Showalter's comments these past few games. He was very WIN METHOD in talking how important the mental aspect was in baseball. He felt numbers are just that, numbers. He espoused the mental aspect is what wins games. IE, producing when it counts, and general baseball acumen, being in the right frame of mind all the time during a game.

Tony Manchu said...

Warren Hammond, Showalter was big on attitude also. And players willing to accept and put into practice what they are told and taught. I agree, he was very much WIN METHOD oriented.

Rajiv Maragh said...

A few days for the players to get their minds straight and concentration on playing winning team baseball for the playoffs. Yes you can and yes you will. Lets go Yankees.

Saul Irving said...

The players and team that produce when it counts the most, both offensively and defensively, will be the World Champions of baseball for 2019. Nothing else will matter.
