WIN METHOD --- MID SEASON 2019 --- GREAT NEWS TWO TIMES

We are halfway thru the 2019 baseball season and the YANKEES are in first place, playing great WIN METHOD baseball while overcoming countless injuries to so many vital players, some of which who haven't played an inning so far this season.  Players have stepped up with almost everyone producing when it counts most and winning games.  We all know wins and winning are the only stats that matter.   We here laud and praise winning players and teams while the stat frauds and talking heads laud losing players for what the losers accomplish for themselves.  Then to defend their adoration of the high stat losers, the frauds blame the players teammates.   As the YANKEES enter the second half of the 2019 season the team just needs to keep winning and keep playing WIN METHOD baseball.

YANKEE management is on the prowl for an acceptable starting pitcher to sign before the July 31st deadline.  There are only a couple WIN METHOD qualified pitchers available so many of the names being thrown around will not be a Yankee.  Hopefully things will work out and the Yankees will get what they want.  It takes two parties to make a deal, unless you are foolish and overpay and wind up not getting a decent deal.

The other great news is, this morning the YANKEES  have signed a sixteen year old named Jasson Dominguez from the Dominican Republic.   All I can say is WIN METHOD, WIN METHOD, WIN METHOD.  Jasson's father is a lifelong YANKEE fan.  The YANKEES had to pay a pretty penny for Jasson.  Somewhere around a five million dollar signing bonus because he was coveted by many other MLB teams.   Jasson reminds me of Mickey Mantle.  For you younger fans here, look up what Mickey Mantle did over his career to help lead the YANKEES to great success for many seasons.  I am very pleased with this signing and hoping Jasson blooms and grows achieving greatness in helping lead the YANKEES in future years.

Thank you WIN METHOD fans for your never ending support on this blog.   You all live in reality, and you all know baseball, and you all know wins and winning determines the best players and the best teams.  As the YANKEES play these final three months of the regular season, lets all root for and support our NY YANKEES.    LETS GO YANKEES.

The anatomy of failure. Breaking down the loss. The Yankees held a 4-2 lead as the Rays came to bat in the 9th inning last night. The Rays had seemingly no chance as they had to face the 'highest paid' and 'best' closer in baseball who only needed to get 3 outs as he faced the bottom of the Rays order. Aroldis Chapman, the Yankee closer would do his job and all the Yankee fans would go home happy. The Rays would be toast in a few minutes. The Rays had other ideas, never giving up. The first Ray up hit a ball to the opposite field for a single to start the inning. He did not flail away and try to hit the ball as far as he could, the Rays needed base runners. They got one immediately. Now the Rays had three chances to tie the game with one swing. But they were facing 'the best closer' in baseball. The second Rays batter came up and he lined a single to centerfield putting men on 1st and 2nd base with no outs. Now the Rays only needed a double to possibly tie the game. The third batter was struck out by Chapman. A good sign, one out. The fourth batter also struck out. Two outs, Chapman was bearing down and only needed one more out for the Yankees to win. The fifth batter came up and he battled Chapman with all he had fouling off pitches and working the count to 3-2. One more strike and the ball game would be over. The next pitch from Chapman wound up in the right field seats and giving the Rays a 5-4 win. The mighty Chapman has failed when it mattered most and proved once again that no player is worth the multi million dollars they are getting paid. There would be no joy in the Stadium tonight.
**My apologies to Ernest Thayer.

It seems our opponents take more advantage of our home park than we do. Or is it just that our hitters like more to see how far they can hit the ball, see if they hit pitches that bounce and seem fooled when pitches are thrown for strikes as they watch them with their bat on their shoulder. Sorry, but baseball frustrates me sometimes.

coryankee said...

Yankees pitchers held the Rays to a .042 average (1-for-24) with RISP this series. Also, Rays pitchers have allowed 32 HR in 17 games this season against the Yankees and have allowed 70 HR in 82 games against all other opponents.
If baseball fans can't see the difference of producing when it counts compared to just amassing how much and how many stats you can achieve, they are missing why players and teams who win are the best. That 1 hit of 24 attempts for the Rays earned them their one win of the series. Caveat, not all stats for hitting with RISP are equal. It doesn't matter if players fail or produce with RISP once a game is in hand, big lead late in game, failing or producing at those times does not lead to wins or losses but only skews the stats. If you can understand and accept this you are WIN METHOD and you are a smart intelligent baseball fan.

Steve said...

coryankee, you nailed it. The WIN METHOD is not complicated, does not make up stats, has no fake formulas, and does not make up who is best. The WIN METHOD uses common sense, wins and winning determines the best players and teams and wins and winning are irrefutable facts.

Victor Bruno said...

It looks like Sanchez's batting average is headed to the interstate. Very similar to afraud, the last guy on the team you want batting when you need a big hit. Never should be batting above 7th or 8th in my opinion.

Arnies Army said...

Sanchez’s approach to hitting right now is brutal. Swinging at everything and trying to hit it 500 feet. I wish he would use the opposite field, but that would mean he wouldn't be able to hit 500 foot home runs every 1 in 500 at bats when it doesn't matter.

Yankeeforever said...

Arnies Army, also add in his pathetic defense. Sure he throws out a runner every once in a while, every catcher does, but that is negated by his wild throws and all to often his catcher's interference calls. Sanchez is the one piece I wouldn't mind getting rid of. How about moving him and Frazier for someone who can help the Yanks.

Xavier Young said...

This is only what I believe and there is no way to prove what I am going to say as a fact or not, but I believe if Romine was the catcher last night and batting 8th and Sanchez was removed from the lineup and the other spots before Romine moved up one notch the Yankees win last nights game. I base my view on the WIN METHOD philosophy of not how much nor how many, but when any player produces.

reinvaldez said...

Isn't Sanchez the reason Joe Girardi didn't get an offer to renew his contract (fired)? Sanchez looks to be a sniveler and when Judge, Stanton, etal were hitting long HRs, Sanchez wanted to match them foot for foot. Sanchez has earned his 'meatball' name fans here have given him.

Frank Harris said...

Every player batting fails more times than they succeed. That is not the problem. The problem is the players who fail far more when it matters most. Look at it this way, a hitter bats .100 for the season, 1-10 over say 500 at bats. But half of those 1-10's are game defining hits. That means 1 time every 20 a bats the hitter gets a hit that defines his teams win. That translates to 25 wins for the team. That would be a mind blowing accomplishment. How about having four players like that each season. Each season would be a 100 win season.

Romine comes thru again. Sac fly RBI, something 'meatball' can't do with a K. 4-3 Yankees after 2.

Deb F said...

Groundhogs day. It's yesterday again. Yanks lead 9-7 after five.

will-i-am said...

Final. Yankees win 10-7. Kudos, the entire lineup without "meatball". Cortes and Kahnle. We take the series against the Central Division leading team.

Mark Wagoner said...

Onto Boston and a four game series with the sux starting tonight. Tanaka, Paxton, CC, and German the Yankee starting quartet.

Sharon/NC said...

How often here do posters say 'yes you can' or 'yes we can'? Well you, we, can and yes you, we, do. Lets go Yankees.

Phil Jenkins said...

Can you imagine this. We are 11 games up on the sux. Have a four game series with them in their back yard. And if we lose all four we are still 7 games ahead of them. We lose three and we are 9 games ahead of them. We split and we stay 11 games up. No matter what happens we are in good shape and knock four more games off the season. Lets go Yankees.

White Knight said...

Boone has the starters he wanted for this series. Their goal is to step up and keep us in the game. The same for the bullpen. The lineup has been upgraded with the Sanchez DL stint. All the lineup needs to do is what wins games, produce when it counts most.

NJYANKEE said...

Would be great to win this series. A split is fine. Agree with all Phil Jenkins said. If anyone said the Yankees would be in first place, up by seven games over the sux with less than 60 games to go in the season before the season started, everyone would have said they would be fine with that.

Pepe Gonzales said...

Hope the bats stay on fire versus the sux and we pound their pitchers, with the final result being Yankee WINS>..>>...>>>....>>>>.....>>>>>......Lets go Yankees.

Dustin Howell said...

Keep it up guys, keep winning, keep producing when it counts.

Dinty Moore said...

Be the ace Masahiro. Shut the sux down. Win game one.

Guy Padikian said...

Masahiro Tanaka RHP

NYY Lineup

D LeMahieu (R) 3B
A Judge (R) RF
A Hicks (S) CF
E Encarnación (R) DH
D Gregorius (L) SS
L Voit (R) 1B
G Torres (R) 2B
M Tauchman (L) LF
K Higashioka (R) C

Higashioka catching. No hole lineup again. Lets go Yankees.

Dean Muskowski said...

When and if Sanchez comes back, he can fit into his lineup only by batting in the 9 hole just as Higashioka is. Difference being Higgy will likely help the team more often.

will-i-am said...

Tanaka gives up 7 runs in the first and goes into the dugout and says, OK guys, see if you can come back from that.

Kojak said...

We ain't coming back tonight. If you have to lose, this is the way to do it. Makes for a lot of garbage stats. The fantasy world players must be ecstatic.

YankeeMike said...

Tanaka really embarrassed himself tonight. It looks as if the Yankee starters are trying to force Cashman to find a starting pitcher. Problem is the asking price will go up as each Yankee starter implodes.

will-i-am said...

Final. Yankees lose 19-3. Billy goat, Tanaka. A loss by 1 run or 10 or 16 are all equal.
Lets get even tomorrow.

Matt Cooper said...

Paxton tonight to try to even series. A starter will pitch a good game sooner or later.

VincentVanGoYankees said...

Just one win in the sux series and we aren't hurt. Two and the sux wasted their time.

Gus Papa said...

Our pitching has been awful, but the lineup has picked up the slack and the team is still playing winning baseball. Everyone contributes. That is what the WIN METHOD is.

bigbadwolf said...

Quick update WIN METHOD fans. You have taken the WIN METHOD blog to over 625,000,000 that is 625 million views. Thank you to all of you from all over the world.

Pierre Jadot said...

You win some and you lose some. It's just that to be he best you have to win more.

Pia Annunzio said...

Better the staff be bad now and excel in the playoffs. There are always ups and downs, but when five starters go sour at the same time, it is much more noticeable than one at a time or even two.

Linda Rice said...

Let's get back on track guys.

Guy Padikian said...

Yanks get hammered again, down 10-3 after 7

will-i-am said...

Final. Yankees lose 10-5. Billy goat. Paxton. Another pitcher with a bad effort.

yankeedoodledandy said...

CC today to try to halt the two game skid.

Carl Hooks said...

CC the old war horse to show the way today. Be the man CC.

L Voit (R) 1B
D Gregorius (L) SS
G Torres (R) 2B
G Urshela (R) 3B
M Tauchman (L) LF
K Higashioka (R) C

Lets try again and get a different result.

will-i-am said...

Final. Yankees lose 9-5. CC not the answer as Yankees lose third straight game to sux.

Guy Padikian said...

Domingo German RHP

NYY Lineup

A Hicks (S) CF
A Judge (R) RF
E Encarnación (R) DH
L Voit (R) 1B
D Gregorius (L) SS
G Torres (R) 2B
G Urshela (R) 3B
C Maybin (R) LF
A Romine (R) C

German gets his chance to right the ship. CC on the DL. Wade called up. Maybin starting.

Mark Wagoner said...

Somebody needs to step up for the Yankees.

Sammybigdog said...

And LeMahieu banged up and not starting a second consecutive game.

Yankeeforever said...

Yanks lead 4-2 thru 5. Win and we are 9 up on the sux. Lose and we are 7 up.

Lou Lis said...

Yankees leading 8-4 after seven. Hang on guys.

will-i-am said...

Final. Finally Yankees win 9-6. A good game from German and big hits from Urshela, Romine, and Didi earn the win and save Yankees from being swept by bosux.

Steve said...

We just finished our first losing series in two months. We finished a losing road trip, 3-4 playing two of the best teams in baseball. We added two more players to the DL and out best hitter is sidelined for the past two games. At the end of it all we are in first place by 8 1/2 and 9 gamed over our division rivals.

YankeeMike said...

Off day today. At home with Dbacks Tuesday and Wednesday. Day off again Thursday. Friday, Saturday day/night double header, and Sunday with the sux. Six home games this weeks then hit the road for a week.

Todd Barnes-NYC said...

We will just repay the favor to the sux and take 3 of 4 games from them this weekend.

Vlad Kotenko said...

Lets not look past Arizona. Play one game and one series at a time.
