WIN METHOD --- 2019 SEASON --- 162 GAMES TO THE DIVISION CROWN

Winter is over, the hot stove is off.  Spring training games are finished, now the season begins.  Over the next 162 games the ten best teams will go on to the playoffs.  This is the time when producing when it counts matters most and over the next 162 games the best players in the game will go to the playoffs.  Wins and winning is all that matters and only wins and winning will get the best players and the best teams to the playoffs.

The NEW YORK YANKEES completed a banner off season obtaining several players who will play for the team to win and who know that winning as a team and doing all the little things that can help the team win is what matters most in the end.  Paxton, Happ, Britton, Tulowitzki, Lemahieu, Voit, and others know that only wins, and not individual stats, are what gets a team to the playoffs.  The YANKEE hierarchy was brilliant by not signing either Manny Machado or Bryce Harper to ten and thirteen year contracts for the amount of money each is getting that neither player is worth, and would have crippled the YANKEES for the decade ahead.   Look for the YANKEES to win more World Series than the Padres and Phillies combined over the next decade.

With the blossoming of the YANKEES own core of youngsters who have bloomed and are now growing in the major leagues at the nucleus of this 2019 team, the YANKEES are set to recapture the division title in the American League East.  The YANKEES will start this season with a handful of key players on the disabled list (DL), however the YANKEES as every other team will have to play the hand they are dealt and overcome obstacles put in front of them.  Yes, the YANKEES can and the YANKEES will.

What is most promising is the future ahead.  The YANKEES have been able to obtain many WIN METHOD youngsters with a bright future and an unlimited ceiling.  Keep an eye out for Estevan Florial who has the tools to be the YANKEE center fielder of the future.   There are also several starting pitchers in the minors that will step forward to be major league impact starters for the YANKEES.

Thank you, to all the readers and posters of the WIN METHOD blog.  You all have contributed to this blog surpassing 548 million views and you all have made this baseball blog the best in the world.
The season starts in a couple of days and a great season it will be for the YANKEES.  Thank you all again for you support, your comments, and your opinions.  All of which are posted with intelligence and wisdom far beyond any other site, blog, or forum in existence.    LETS GO YANKEES.

Lets go guys, we need to keep winning. Produce when it counts.

NJYANKEE said...

If you look at a possible lineup of Encarnacion, Voit, Torres, Didi, LeMahieu, Stanton, Hicks, Judge, Sanchez, that leaves Romine backup catcher, Urshela backup infield, Frazier backup outfield. That's 12. Keep either Maybin or Gardner as 13th leaving 12 pitchers. Likely going to have to trade someone or two. Or Frazier to AAA to keep getting full playing time.

candycane said...

Yanks down 1-0 after 2.

Cory said...

Yankees put up a five spot in third, four on two 2 out 2 RBI singles from old pros Gardner and Romine to take 5-1 lead. Paxton needs to shut the door for a few innings.

candycane said...

Yanks up 5-1 after 4.

Jeb Hough said...

Romine again. 2 RBI double in fifth puts Yankees up 7-1. Best backup catcher in baseball and likely starting catcher for a bunch of MLB teams.

Carl Hooks said...

Paxton goes six innings allowing two runs and leaves leading 9-2. Good effort after the boondoggle against the Mets.

candycane said...

Yanks up 10-3 after 8.

The 2019 season in ten game segments.
Games:
01- 10 ...... 5 - 5
11- 20 ...... 5 - 5 = 10-10
21- 30 ...... 7 - 3 = 17-13
31- 40 ...... 7 - 3 = 24-16
41- 50 ...... 9 - 1 = 33-17
51- 60 ...... 5 - 5 = 38-22
61- 70 ...... 5 - 5 = 43-27

Another marching in place ten game segment. Still barely clinging to first place.

Tug Garner said...

Yankees head home for ten games. Three with the Rays, four with the Astros, and three with the Blue Jays. Tanaka, Happ, and CC listed for the the Rays. Lets play some winning baseball.

Phil Jenkins said...

Too many 5-5 segments. That is mediocrity. The 30 game stretch of 23-7 is what is carrying us.

Saul Irving said...

First series is a three gamer. Win it and it is a step forward.

Deb F said...

Let's make a statement and sweep the Rays.

yankeelover said...

Frazier back to AAA as Encarnacion added to roster. What most thought would happen here.

Ziggy Mann said...

Where in the lineup will Encarnacion bat? tonight and after Stanton is back? and after Judge is back?

Olga Kobel said...

Edwin, there is nothing better than a great first impression. Win the fans to your side quickly.

Gus Papa said...

Cory. For 40 games we couldn't beat anyone with authority. But for 30 games we could beat anyone. Really don't like all those 5-5's. However we have been playing with a lot of our secondary players.

Cory said...

Gus Papa, One or two 5-5 segments over a full season is OK. If those four 5-5's were 6-4's the Yankees would be 4 1/2 games up on the Jays right now. It is all about wins. Wins are everything and there is not a single other stat that even comes close to wins.

coryankee said...

LeMahieu again when it counts. Two run home run with two outs for the first runs of the game give Yankees 2-0 lead after three innings. For the exact opposite of failing when it counts. After LeMahieu home run, Voit walks, Hicks doubles to put men on 2nd and 3rd with two outs, but Sanchez flails away and strikes out on three pitches. Success and failure when it counts.

candycane said...

Yanks up 3-0 after 6.

will-i-am said...

C Maybin (R) RF

Didi and Santon out. Torres a SS. Urshela a 3B. If CC keeps us close we win. Just like Happ did last night.

Encarnacion is a professional bat and seldom flails away at bad pitches. He belongs in the center of the order all the time.

Tony Manchu said...

Sanchez with first inning 3 run HR about 350 feet to right field. If he does that more often than trying to hit 450 feet home runs, he could be a devastating force at the plate.

Tommy Stenchion said...

The good, Yanks leading 6-1 after five. The bad, have not had a base runner since the first inning. No add-on runs. Come on guys, the game isn't over.

Domenic said...

CC goes six innings giving up just one run and leaves leading 6-1. Great start from the old veteran.

Gil McKenzie said...

Finally some extra runs. Yanks score 6 runs again for a 12-1 lead after 7. Capped by a Torres grand slam.

Wallyworld said...

Without jinxing anyone, I would think it safe to say the Yankees have swept the second place Tampa Rays.

will-i-am said...

Final. Yankees win 12-1. Sweep Rays. CC great over six innings allowing one run. Bullpen saved as Holder and Cessa go the last three innings. Great start to ten game home stand.

Congratulations to CC Sabathia for becoming only the 14th pitcher in the history of baseball to win 250 games and have 3000 strikeouts. An amazing feat by an amazing person. I remember back to when I broke the story back in November 2008 that CC would be signing a Yankee contract.
Congratulations CC.

Every once and awhile I read posts here hitting on Torres. Remember, he is only 22 and still learning and developing. Watch what he becomes when the light bulb goes off. Could be one of the greats over his career.

I hope the Yankees don't push Deivi too hard or too fast. Keep him in AA the rest of the season and let him bloom and grow at his own pace. Then next year think about AAA.

Deivi is pitching against older players with more experience. That alone is a feather in his cap. More so he is beating them while he learns.

61- 70 ...... 5 - 5 = 43-27
71- 80 ...... 9 - 1 = 52-28

80 games played 20-20 in half of them and 32-8 in the half. .500 ball and .800 ball = .650 ball. Lets keep winning.

Best defensive lineup right now. OK guys, you all know what is needed to win. Do it. Win game one and the trip is a success. The sux have to win both games for their trip to be a suxxess.

Cory said...

By now most of you here know I like numbers and stats. Unlike stat frauds who make up formulas and create fake stats, I only work in reality. So here is something to think about.

The Yanks have played 80 games, 52-28 for .650. The sux have played 82 games, 44-38 for .537.

For he second half of the season.....

If the Yanks play 49-33 ball .597 they will finish 101-61.
If the sux play 56-24 ball .700 they will finish 100-62.

Can the sux play .700 ball for the rest of the season?
Will the Yanks only play .597 ball for the rest of the season?

NJYANKEE said...

Cory, numbers can be fun and are exact when you do no make them up by creating formulas using man made numbers. A person can create any outcome they want when you use a made up number. Even in your post the outcome changes if either team wins or loses just two games. But the different outcome is based only on a fact.
Using what you posted, it would appear difficult for the sux to play .700 ball from here on in. But that is only determined by what happens on the field in real time.
