Winter is over, the hot stove is off. Spring training games are finished, now the season begins. Over the next 162 games the ten best teams will go on to the playoffs. This is the time when producing when it counts matters most and over the next 162 games the best players in the game will go to the playoffs. Wins and winning is all that matters and only wins and winning will get the best players and the best teams to the playoffs.
The NEW YORK YANKEES completed a banner off season obtaining several players who will play for the team to win and who know that winning as a team and doing all the little things that can help the team win is what matters most in the end. Paxton, Happ, Britton, Tulowitzki, Lemahieu, Voit, and others know that only wins, and not individual stats, are what gets a team to the playoffs. The YANKEE hierarchy was brilliant by not signing either Manny Machado or Bryce Harper to ten and thirteen year contracts for the amount of money each is getting that neither player is worth, and would have crippled the YANKEES for the decade ahead. Look for the YANKEES to win more World Series than the Padres and Phillies combined over the next decade.
With the blossoming of the YANKEES own core of youngsters who have bloomed and are now growing in the major leagues at the nucleus of this 2019 team, the YANKEES are set to recapture the division title in the American League East. The YANKEES will start this season with a handful of key players on the disabled list (DL), however the YANKEES as every other team will have to play the hand they are dealt and overcome obstacles put in front of them. Yes, the YANKEES can and the YANKEES will.
What is most promising is the future ahead. The YANKEES have been able to obtain many WIN METHOD youngsters with a bright future and an unlimited ceiling. Keep an eye out for Estevan Florial who has the tools to be the YANKEE center fielder of the future. There are also several starting pitchers in the minors that will step forward to be major league impact starters for the YANKEES.
Thank you, to all the readers and posters of the WIN METHOD blog. You all have contributed to this blog surpassing 548 million views and you all have made this baseball blog the best in the world.
The season starts in a couple of days and a great season it will be for the YANKEES. Thank you all again for you support, your comments, and your opinions. All of which are posted with intelligence and wisdom far beyond any other site, blog, or forum in existence. LETS GO YANKEES.

«Oldest ‹Older 801 – 1000 of 1371 Newer› Newest»Morales is a fine addition. He is a professional hitter with a plan and will not be overwhelmed by being a Yankee or the pressure. I guess that's WIN METHOD.
Morales was a solid addition and for almost nothing. Left handed power bat. Balances the lineup and a nice pinch hitter when not starting.
It is always good o score first, don't want the 'lesser' team to think they have a chance.

Solid lineup. Produce when i matters carries the day.
Keep playing winning baseball. That is all that matters. It's all about wins and winning.
Thunderstorm just passing over Camden Yards. Game OK.
Yanks in a 2-0 hole after one.
Yanks down 2-1 after 2.
Happ has nothing tonight. Getting hammered. Can't finish the 4th. 3 2/3 innings 6 runs 9 hits 1 walk 2 HRs. Yuk.
Yanks down 6-1 after 4.
Yanks down 7-3 after 6.
Yankees trying to claw their way all the way back. Trail 7-6 after eight. Last chance to pull a rabbit out of the hat.
Didi played five innings today in a fake game. Stanton hit HR in real game for Tampa Tarpons.
Yankees come all the way back capped by Sanchez 3 run HR for a 10-7 lead. We found the rabbit. Three more outs wins it.
Chapman saves it. Yankees win it 10-7.
Final. Yankees win 10-7. Comeback win from down 6-1.
Unbelievable. Amazing. Exciting. Fun.
It's nice to win when your starter gets shelled and doesn't go four innings. Wins are all that counts, individual stats are only craved by frauds.
Very nice never give up win last night. Onto tonight, German is starter tonight. Wednesday and Thursday games have no one listed yet.
Last night in the minors..Yankee starters...
'A' Tampa.....Schmidt 6 innings 0 runs 3 hits WIN.
'AA' Trenton.....Garcia 6 innings 2 runs 5 hits WIN.
'A' Charleston.....Orozco 6 innings 1 run 2 hits WIN.
Composite total.....18 innings 3 runs 10 hits 3 WINS.
BLOOMING AND GROWING.
Then there is Jordan Montgomery who will be a force next season while getting his feet wet again later this year in the minors. No need to rush him after TJ surgery.
If each is OK, CC and Tanaka should pitch Wed and Thur on normal rest. That would mean "anyone" on Fri, then Happ and German Sat and Sun.
Dare I say and challenge the baseball Gods, but tonight's should be easier to win than last nights.
Laura Koehler, I hope the Orioles don't read your post.
It wasn't easy, but we did take the first game of this four game series. Now take the second game.

Gardner finally gets a game off. The old guy has been a catalyst for this team all season and has done everything asked of him.
Frazier starting tonight. Would love o see him on the right track again and producing when it counts.
Gorgeous weather for baseball tonight. Lets go Yankees.
Score first tonight and never look back.
Jamaica Joe, so far so good as Yankees score 3 after first three batters. Single, single, e run Sanchez HR.
6-0 Yankees thru three.
Leading 9-0 in fifth, German loses his focus and gives up 3 runs to first three batters, then gets back to normal to finish out he fifth. Yanks lead 9-3.
Hale comes in to pitch the 6th as Yankees save some innings on Germans arm. 11-4 Yanks after 6.
Finally a laugher.
Final. Yankees win 11-4. German 9th win. Hale goes four innings in relief and gives the entire bullpen a day off plus he earns a save.
CC is starting tomorrow's game. Need to keep winning.
Romine with another great game behind the plate.
Think positive fans. 2-0 so far on a seven game road trip. Yes you can, let's go Yankees.
You can tell a team is strong when its bench players are as good as the guys in the lineup starting the game.
Steve, I went to the nyy forum and read the Yankee 2019 season thread. They are truly whiners, snivelers, and idiots. The complain when the team wins or loses. They think they know better than the owners, front office, the coaches, and the manager. That place is the dregs and a disgrace.
Jen Vitter, it always was, still is, always will be if they don't get moderators who know what they are doing and not part of the clique of frauds.
Is it only me, but the next game never seems to come quick enough when the Yankees are playing like they are and winning. WINS are all that matters.

With the talent on this team the lineup and or who plays doesn't really matter much if the guys produce when it counts. The same can be said for several other teams in MLB.
Deivi is very excited and his goal is to be a Yankee in 2021. Hope he stays healthy and has no setbacks.
Warren Hammond >>>>> If the stat frauds could understand your words they wouldn't be stat frauds anymore.
Juan Pablo Garcia >>>>> Staying healthy is hard for pitchers nowadays. But there are some who do. Hope Deivi is one of those. Make sure he reads this WIN METHOD blog, throw strikes, don't overthrow, bloom and grow. I'll throw in a few prayers also.
Lets go Yankees.
Sharon/NC, Your responses to Warren and Juan Pablo were fantastic and I agree completely.
Yanks up 4-0 after 2.
CC gets shelled in fifth. But barely finishes inning and is in line for the win. Gets last out by Gardner throwing out runner out at plate. Yanks up 7-5 after five.
Yanks up 7-5 after 6.
After Kahnle and Ottavino pitch scoreless 6th and 7th innings, Chad Green in to pitch the 8th in a 7-5 game big situation.
Green hits first batter but gets the next three. Yanks clinging to 7-5 lead after 8.
Final. Yankees win 7-5. Four scoreless innings from the pen, Kahnle, Ottavino, Green, and Chapman for the save. Downer of game, Frazier 0-5 and failed in every big spot.
A win is a win is a win.
Tanaka tomorrow with a try for a four game series sweep. Lets go Yankees.
No cold water WIN METHOD fans. You all know baseball and the WIN METHOD tenets. "No player and no team is as good as they look when they are playing their best and no player and no team is as bad as they look when they are playing their worst".
Let's go Yankees
Hear hear. Yes you can, lets go Yankees.
Today's game is a 12:30pm start fans as he Yankees will be flying to Kansas City right after the game for some Kansas City steak dinners. Oh yes, then play a three game weekend series there also.

Both Oriole killers Torres and Sanchez not starting today. The stat frauds will go berserk.
Guy Padikian, You nailed it, the stat frauds are going berserk. I"m not going to waste my time copying and pasting their posts here. People can go read for themselves if they wish.
Tanaka really struggling pitching in the second. A lot of pitches and it looks like the roof is ready to fall in.
Tanaka only allows one run but has thrown 48 pitches in just 2 innings. Down 1-0.
Yanks down 1-0 after 4.
Frazier Ballantyne blast ties it at one after five.
Urshela again. Two out bases loaded when it counts single for 2 runs gives Yankees 3-1 lead after six.
Romine, the best backup catcher in baseball with an RBI single for a 4-1 lead in 7th.
Tanaka settles down, finds his groove and finishes six innings allowing just the one run in the second inning. Shows you what I know. Just let the team and players do the talking.
Three pages so far now at the classless and brainless nyy forum of the stat frauds ripping the Yankees for not starting Sanchez and Torres today.
Holder and Ottavino blow lead in eighth inning. 5-5 after eight.
Oh my! The stat frauds have new players to blame while still blaming everyone else.
Yankees get one in ninth for 6-5 lead. Britton comes in to try for the save.
Britton saves it.
Final. Yankees win 6-5. Hicks walks with bases loaded in ninth for the winning run.
One crazy game, but as was posted yesterday, a win is a win is a win. Some are not as perty as others.
Sweep the hard way, a run in the 36th inning of a four game series. If the Yankees had lost today's game and the Orioles won, it would have been the first game the Orioles won coming from behind after the seventh inning this season.
Yankees scored the winning run in the 9th with a 2 out nobody on rally. The old fashioned way works just as well as home runs. In a relatively even combination they can lead to a lot of wins. Today, 2 runs on solo HRs, and 4 runs on hits and walks when it mattered most.
CC on the DL with right knee inflammation. Yanks will go with what they have in house and hopefully Paxton will be able to start sometime next week.
Yankees have listed Green, Happ, and German as starters for the KC weekend series.
If Green can go 2 or 3 scoreless innings I would be elated.
The Yankees can't keep playing this well forever. Should stay in good shape and contention if there are no losing 10 game sets.
I hope the Yankees don't deal any of our quality young talent for some pitcher another team is trying to dump in return for what we have throughout the organization.
As we all expected on this blog, the AL East top three teams combined are the best in baseball.
Good morning Yankee fans. Been a long time. I have been very busy if you have kept up with the news in this part of the world. Have tried to keep up with the Yankees and the great things that are happening this season with all the winning. In all facets of life it is about the winning. As WIN METHOD states, we will do the best we can and we will overcome all obstacles, roadblocks, and play the hand we are dealt. LETS GO YANKEES.
Ben Rosen/Israel, Good to hear from you. Thank you for what you do and stay well.
Look for the Yankees best lineup tonight with the rest several players got yesterday.
Bad weather, and all too many times really bad weather is at play in Kansas City this time of year. Hope for the best and a win.
This blog, and all who post here are 99% positive, upbeat, and intelligent. It isn't that hard. It confounds me how so money people on other blogs and forums can be so negative about almost anything. It's a pleasure coming here to the WIN METHOD blog.

All Yankee lineups are good as is this one. Lets go Yankees. Every win moves us closer to the goal.
Junis is the guy who hit Judge on the wrist and put him out of action for two months. Just pound him guys, score early and often.
Yankee in front 2-0 after 3 innings.
Yanks up 2-0 after 5, but games like this scare me. Scored both runs in the first, had chance to add on runs and failed. Sapp has been brilliant so far. However, the Royals are still in the game as the old saying goes, a bloop and a blast from a tie game.
You called it Domenic. Yanks add 1 run in 6th to lead 3-0, then the Royals bunt single(bloop), an opposite field single, and the blast for a 3-3 tie just like that after 6.
That is what I like about this place, their are so many smart people with intelligent insight who know baseball so well. This blog is so ahead of the curve. Now we can come back.
Oh my gosh. Back to back brilliant posts. Domenic said it, it happened. YankeeMike said it, it happened. All within minutes as Voit his 2 run home run in 7th to give Yankees 5-3 lead after 7.
7-3 the good guys after 8.

Nice to see Sanchez out after his hitting debacle in first game and another error. Game one in the bank, make it two.
The 2019 season in ten game segments.
Games:
01- 10 ...... 5 - 5
11- 20 ...... 5 - 5 = 10-10
21- 30 ...... 7 - 3 = 17-13
31- 40 ...... 7 - 3 = 24-16
41- 50 ...... 9 - 1 = 33-17
This 10 game set was almost as good as it gets. Wins are the only thing that counts.
Lets go Green. Two shutout innings is all I am asking for.
Deivi Garcia tonight for the Trenton Thunder... 6 innings 1 run 4 hits 10 K 0 W. Another gem from a kid who just turned 20 last week. Stay healthy man. And his cousin posts here.
Yankees lead 6-4 after five. Storms getting closer. Need a couple more runs.
6-4 Yankees thru 6. Lets score.
Final. Yankees win 6-5. Chapman save. Got game in just before the storms arrive.
Yankees winning both games today ensure a series win and will play for he sweep tomorrow.
Another it wasn't pretty game, never behind, but never a sure thing.
German starts this afternoon for a try to sweep KC series.
Another example of meaningless individual stats. The Yankees played two games yesterday, winning both. Torres and Sanchez the 3 & 4 hitters went 0 for 13 with 6 strikeouts 1 error and absolutely no impact on the Yankee two wins. Meanwhile Romine and Maybin battine in the 8 & 9 spots went 5 for 11 with 2 strikeouts 0 errors but also with 5 RBIs helping very much in the wins.
Different days, different players produce when it counts to help their team win. Remember fans, ALL players make a team the best, not just a few.

Nine right-handed bats against a lefty starter. Lets finish his series with a win and a sweet ride home.
Hobbs, the Yankees are using 40 players to help the team win. Boone and Cashman have been geniuses using the Scranton shuttle moving players back and forth as needed in order to fill a gap in the roster, be it a pitcher or position player of any skill set.
Guy Padikian, the Royal starter will have his hands full trying to cope with this Yankee lineup as long as they play within themselves and hit the ball where it's pitched. LeMahieu and Urshela are the gold standard of hitting the ball where it is pitched ala all time great Derek Jeter.
A win today means back to back series sweeps. Sweet if it happens.
Yankees trail 3-1 after 2 as German gives up 3 run HR.
German pitching batting practice today. He buries Yankees thru five 7-1 with 4 home runs.
Yankees trying to come back. Down 7-4 afer 6.
Yankees score 3 in 9th and even game at 7. Amazing, never give up.
Cortes who relieved German and has pitched 3 scoreless innings stays in for for the 9th.
7-7 after 9. Extra innings. German taken off the hook for a loss.
Final. Yankees go down in 10, 8-7 on a bad hop base hit. Came all the way back to lose. Holder takes the loss. Road trip 6 wins and 1 loss.
Nice comeback today albeit a loss anyway. Have to like the effort.
Memorial Day afternoon game at home tomorrow. No starter named yet.

Happy MEMORIAL DAY to all our service men and women who have served or are now serving in all military branches of he United States of American. A moment of silence to all who given their life to defend our country. And a thank you to President Donald J. Trump for making America great again.
Come from behind wins are nice, but scoring first and leading all the way are nicer.
God bless America, all those who serve, and especially those who have fallen.
Four innings complete, Yankees lead 3-2.
Still 3-2 Yankees after six.
Yankees tack on 2 runs in 8th for a 5-2 lead. Chapman for the save try coming in.
Final. Yankees win 5-2. Hale win, Chapman save.
Now the rest of the story. Green was the opener, K'd he side in the first. Hale pitches the second, third, fourth, and fifth innings allowing two runs and earned the win. Ottavino pitched a shutout sixth and earned a hold. Kahnle pitched a shutout seventh and earned a hold. Britton pitched a shutout eighth and earned a hold. Chapman pitched a shutout ninth and earned the save. Frazier homer run for the Yankees first run. Gardner two run home run after Urshela walk for the second and third runs which sere enough to win he game. Sanchez home run for a tack on run. Torres double and Maybin single for another tack on run. That was your game. Yankees use six pichers and Gardner with the biggest hit.
Tanaka to start tomorrow night's second game of series.
Green has been the first inning starter for three games now and the Yankees have won all of them.
Also, Paxton likely return Wednesday afternoon game. Hope he comes back roaring.

Let's go Yankees.
Cory, I was looking at your 10 game sets stats. 23-7 the last 3 sets is amazing winning baseball.
The way the Yankees have been playing there is not much to say. The Rays and the sux aren't giving an inch and the season has a very long way to go. We are in for a dogfight to the end.
There may be some rain tonight. The game more than likely will be fully played.
Tanaka faces first four batters and Yankees in the hole 4-0. Gives the lineup something to shoot for tonight.
Yankees trail 4-1 after 4.
Yankees trying to come back, trail 5-4 after 7.
Final. Yankees lose 5-4. Couldn't pull off the comeback, but tried. Tanaka's loss all by himself. No one else to blame.
Paxton making his first start from coming off the DL with a sore knee in rubber game this afternoon at the Stadium.
Would really like to win today so we can go into the sux four game series upbeat.
When you look at games like last nights you can see just how one pitch can mean he difference between winning or losing for each team.
Bullpen got rested last night with three scoreless innings from Harvey and Cessa. They will be ready if needed today.
If Paxton can keep us in it we will have a very good chance to win today. IF, a big word, if Tanaka only gives up a single to Hosmer or even better gets him out last night, the Yankees likely win. However, if one thing changes, everything else changes and you should never say what would've could've happened. One change, everything changes.

Sanchez sits.
LeMahieu and Voit back to back home runs open game nicely for the Yankees. 2-0 after one.
Urshela 2nd inning HR puts Yankees up 3-0 after 2.
Paxton goes four hitless innings in his comeback start. Green and Ottavino a scoreless 5th and 6th. Yankees add-on a run in 5th and 6th. Yankees up 5-0 after 6.
Holder too. A scoreless 7th.
Torres 2 run HR in 7th makes it 7-0 Yankees in a rout of the Padres 'ace' Paddach. Holder then throws a scoreless 8th inning. One heck of a fun game for Yankee fans.
Final. Yankees win 7-0. Paxton was great, and it should be a boost to the rotation having him back. The bats took care of business from the very first at bat. Very nice win. And another series win.
Cortes pitches a scoreless ninth to finish off a 7-0 win.
Kahnle, Britton, and Chapman weren't used today and will be first up for the sux four game series starting tomorrow.
Happ starts the series against the bosux tomorrow. Let's hope we get off on the right foot.
See what can happen when Sanchez rides the pine.
We can't seem to shake the Rays. They are playing as well as we are.
Much is riding on this series for the sux. If they get swept they are in a big bind to try to come back from that far against two teams. If the sux lose three they fall another 2 games behind. If they split, not much changes. If the sux win three games they are rejuvenated and alive. If the sux sweep they would be ecstatic and back right in the thick of things.
So, as we host the sux for four games....Lets go Yankees. No letups.
NJYANKEE, You hit the nail on he head with a perfect synopsis of the way things are right now concerning this series. You know the sux will be going all out. The Yankees need to be prepared and ready to do battle.
Game cancelled tonight.
Down to a three game series now. Game will be rescheduled for August 3rd.

Eight righty bats and Gardner. Sale likes the outside corner, hit the ball to right.
Happ is the lynchpin, if he keeps us in the game with a good effort, we can clean he sux socks.
Remember guys, play for win, no individuals stats mean a thing. Only wins gets you into the playoffs.
Lets go Yankees.
Score first and build. Bullpen is 100% ready again.
sux starter is a competitor with pride, he won't be easy.
If Sanchez goes to the opposite field he could be an asset tonight, if he tries to pull Sale, Sale may make mincemeat of him.
Happ is the man. Shut down and sux and we win.
Yanks up 4-1 after five. Happ five innings allowing just one run did his job. The hitters got to Sale for four runs. Now he bullpen needs to keep he game.
Ottavino and Kahnle with scoreless 6th and 7th innings. Yankees coming up for their 7th leading 4-1. Finish it off.
Happ was the man again. Did what was needed.
Britton with his scoreless inning. 4-1 Yankees thru 8.
Final. Yankees win 4-1. The formula. Starter goes what he can and keeps the team in the game. The bullpen does the rest, one scoreless inning each. Four relievers today.
Chapman closes down the sux. How sweet it is.
German, Yankee starter tomorrow night. Lets go Yankees.
