Winter is over, the hot stove is off. Spring training games are finished, now the season begins. Over the next 162 games the ten best teams will go on to the playoffs. This is the time when producing when it counts matters most and over the next 162 games the best players in the game will go to the playoffs. Wins and winning is all that matters and only wins and winning will get the best players and the best teams to the playoffs.
The NEW YORK YANKEES completed a banner off season obtaining several players who will play for the team to win and who know that winning as a team and doing all the little things that can help the team win is what matters most in the end. Paxton, Happ, Britton, Tulowitzki, Lemahieu, Voit, and others know that only wins, and not individual stats, are what gets a team to the playoffs. The YANKEE hierarchy was brilliant by not signing either Manny Machado or Bryce Harper to ten and thirteen year contracts for the amount of money each is getting that neither player is worth, and would have crippled the YANKEES for the decade ahead. Look for the YANKEES to win more World Series than the Padres and Phillies combined over the next decade.
With the blossoming of the YANKEES own core of youngsters who have bloomed and are now growing in the major leagues at the nucleus of this 2019 team, the YANKEES are set to recapture the division title in the American League East. The YANKEES will start this season with a handful of key players on the disabled list (DL), however the YANKEES as every other team will have to play the hand they are dealt and overcome obstacles put in front of them. Yes, the YANKEES can and the YANKEES will.
What is most promising is the future ahead. The YANKEES have been able to obtain many WIN METHOD youngsters with a bright future and an unlimited ceiling. Keep an eye out for Estevan Florial who has the tools to be the YANKEE center fielder of the future. There are also several starting pitchers in the minors that will step forward to be major league impact starters for the YANKEES.
Thank you, to all the readers and posters of the WIN METHOD blog. You all have contributed to this blog surpassing 548 million views and you all have made this baseball blog the best in the world.
The season starts in a couple of days and a great season it will be for the YANKEES. Thank you all again for you support, your comments, and your opinions. All of which are posted with intelligence and wisdom far beyond any other site, blog, or forum in existence. LETS GO YANKEES.

Final. Yankees win 3-1, take series 3 games to 1.
This is for the most ignorant baseball fans in the world. You know who you are stat frauds.
Seattle and the Yankees just played a four game series that the Yankees won three games to one. Good news for the stat frauds the Seattle scored 18 runs and the Yankees only scored 16.
Meaningless stat because you only need to win and how many runs you win by means absolutely nothing except for the frauds and their fantasy games and fake made up formulas of ignorance.
Travel to Tampa for a three game weekend series with the first place Rays.
Germain, Sabathia, and Tanaka are the listed starters for the Yankees this weekend in Tampa.
Steve, WIN METHOD fans have shown and proven with documented facts that stats do not they the true story, that much of the time they give false impressions and make false assumptions. Throw in that man made formulated stats are totally useless and are created only on the whims of the creators. We can show countless times when stats used to determine who is best or who has won are false.
On the other hand, never once has any stat fraud ever been able to show that wins do not determine who is best and who has won, be it for a game, a series, a week, a month, or a season. Never, have wins ever given a false result or ever been wrong, and wins are factual and are not a fake.
German 6-1 vs. Glasgow 7-0 tonight.
Considering we are playing with several backup players in the lineup, all we can ask for is the best they can give us in his series. Winning his series would be fantastic.

Tommy Lee, love it.
Tommy Lee, Hear hear.
Most, not all, stat frauds are dumb as rocks. My apologies to rocks.
Maybe the Tampa starter, Glasnow is do for a loss. Tonight would be fine.
I bet the stat frauds hate both of tonights game starters. They are 13-1 between them.
Tommy Lee, Nice post.
Tommy Lee, Your PSA should be a standard warning on every sports forum/blog in the world.

Right now this looks to be the best lineup we have. One left handed bat against a right handed pitcher. Put the ball in play guys.
Guy Padikian, you are right, the guys need to put the ball in play. Striking out is useless.
One plus if needed, our bullpen should be in good shape. All got some work in the last few games and the heart of the pen looked good and should be ready and sharp.
Yankees take early lead with two first inning runs.
2-0 Yanks after 2.
German cracks in 5th. 3 runs on 2 HRs puts Yanks down 3-2 after 5.
Urshela again a when it matters most 2 rbi single putting Yanks up 4-3 after six. It's up to the bullpen now.
Yanks up 4-3 after 6.
Yankees lead 4-3 after 8. Bullpen with three scoreless innings so far. Chapman will try to close it in 9th. Lets get a couple of insurance runs.
Final. Yankees win 4-3. German bests Glasnow. Bullpen with four more scoreless innings.
Big game one of this series win. Now to take just one more, and it won't be easy.
How many nail biters will we go through this season? When you win, they are as exciting as all get out. When you lose, they are heartbreaking.
With the season in early May, we are seeing some truly great baseball. Almost like playoff games.
CC tomorrow night. If CC keeps us in the game we will need the bullpen again.
Do it again tomorrow. Lets go Yankees.
Going back to and adding to Steve's post about meaningless stats. Add in last nights game and in the last five games the Yankees played they have given up 21 runs and scored 20. There record is 4 wins and 1 loss while scoring less runs than their opponents. Why? Because it doesn't matter how much or how many of anything a player or team attains except for wins. This is the concept too many baseball fans are unwilling to accept. Wake up and stop playing in the fantasy leagues and learn real life baseball.
I really enjoyed last nights game. Winning tends to do that to people. Every pitch was a battle, every out, every hit, every run. Just a great game as a fan. I've been on the losing end of games like last nights. It would still be a great game, someone wins and someone loses.
Bullpen used two games in a row, but the only one likely not to get used tonight may be Ottavino who had to be pushed last night to get thru his inning. Holder can likely go two innings if has is stuff. Kahnle, Britton, and Chapman should all be able to give an inning if needed. If we don't need the bullpen we either scored a boatload of runs or gave up a boatload of runs.
Winning the first game of a three game series is always a good thing. If you lose the next two, at worse you only lose a game in he standings to the team you are playing.

Need another keep us alive start from CC and the lineup to produce when it counts.
CC is a definite change of pace for the Rays lineup compared to German.
Lets go Yankees.
Yanks down 1-0 after 2.
Yanks down 2-0 after 4.
After tying game at 2, Sanchez pathetic defense gives Rays 2 runs putting Yankees down 4-2 after 6.
Yanks down 4-2 after 6.
Yankees trail 4-2 after 7. Do we have a rally tonight?
Rays 3 run HR in 8th puts Yanks down 7-2. Cortes gave it up. However, all the big bullpen guns got the day off and will be ready for the rubber game tomorrow afternoon.
Final. Yankees go down 7-2. Series even at one, rubber game tomorrow with Tanaka starting.
We will need for Tanaka to keep us in the game today to have a chance. Need a big hit or two when it matters most to take this series.
Should be another good game today, a win would be a really good game.
Lets see how the Rays fare with Glasnow out for a month.

Final. Yankees win 7-1. Take series against first place Rays.
Chad Green is back and blows them away in the ninth. Another bullpen arm hat is golden.
Nail biter for 7. Insurance run in the 8h. Drop the hammer in th 9h for the 7-1 win. Tanaka and the bullpen were magnificent.
The 2019 season in ten game segments.
Games:
01- 10 ...... 5 - 5
11- 20 ...... 5 - 5 = 10-10
21- 30 ...... 7 - 3 = 17-13
31- 40 ...... 7 - 3 = 24-16
Another 7-3 ten game set is solid playoff baseball. Considering it is being done despite a multitude of injured players. This a credit to WIN METHOD and he Yankee organization for amassing the talent at so many levels through all levels in the minors. It all comes down to wins and winning. Nothing else matters.
.600 baseball usually gets a team into the playoffs.
The Yankee now head home for a three game series with the Orioles, an off day, and then a three game series with the Rays.
Over the past ten games we played three series and won each series only losing one game to each of the teams we played. Also, we beat two of the top teams in the game.
Loaisiga, Happ, and German listed for the O's three game series.
Hicks will be back of roster for series against Baltimore starting today.
It looks like there may be rain issues for tonights game.
I hope we can play tonight. I don't like not playing when the team is winning. Ride the wave.
The Yankees said they will start Cessa tonight instead of Loaisiga.
Loaisiga was placed on the DL with shoulder issue. Chance Adams up from AAA. Tauchman down to AAA as Hicks takes his place on the 25 man Yankee roster.

Game should get played tonight but may have a delayed start.
Andujar put back on DL. Loaisiga shoulder is a rotator cuff issue. Having Urshela makes he Andujar DL decision much easier for Yankees.
The start of tonight's game has been delayed because of rain.
Getting he field ready.
The tarp had so much water on it that when they removed it, the left field area got flooded with standing water. Umps, managers, and ground crew walking the field and deciding what to do.
Two hour backup and still counting. Someone has to make a decision sometime.
Game canceled. Single admission double header Wednesday at 3 PM.
It took a long time to make a decision that easily should have been made 2 hours earlier. But that falls on MLB and their try to play every game policy.
If the Yanks and O's play the three games, they will play the three games within 30 hours.
Happ will be Yankee starter in tonights what will be the first game of this three game series with the Orioles.

You look a his lineup which has been consistently producing and wonder who sits when Judge, Stanton, and Gregorius return. Likely, Judge in RF for Maybin, Stanton in LF for Gardner, Gregorius to SS as Torres moves to 2B and Lemahieu to 3B for Urshela.
With the rain out last night the bullpen is fully ready. We tentatively have three games in 30 hours and then a three game weekend series with the Rays who will be looking for revenge.
The Yankees do have some very dynamic tradeable players if the right deal at the right price comes along. Just don't get some other teams garbage for our stars.
The Yankees have tons of talent in the pipeline. Bloom and grow with the WIN METHO philosophy.
Game canceled. Two in a row. Double header tomorrow still on. Tonight's game will be a double header August 12th.
Down to a 2 game series now. Sweep the double header.
Wonder if Boone will go with both Happ and German tomorrow.
Dave Matthews, both are listed as of now for tomorrow.
Yankees have an off day tomorrow so they can use every bullpen arm today if need be.
We have been playing .700 ball over the past 20 games and then have two rained out games, then have to play a doubleheader, then an off day. I hate rain outs when winning.

0-0 after 2.
We have a pitchers duel in game two. 2-1 Yankees thru six.
Hicks has looked terrible at the plate. First game back at the MLB facing pitchers in peak form. Give him a few games to adapt.
3-1 Yankees after eight. Chapman coming in to try to save both ends of the doubleheader.
Final. Yankees win 3-1. Take both ends of the doubleheader. German now 8-1. Off day tomorrow.
Chapman save it. Three up and three down on nine pitches. Yankees take the doubleheader.
Yankees win two today. Both games and the break between games took only six hours.
Miguel Andujar has made his decision and will undergo labrum surgery which will end this year for him. Come back even better in 2020 Andujar and may your surgery and recovery go better than well.
Good luck with your surgery Miguel Andujar and best of luck with your recovery. Nest years spring training is a long way off so don't rush your recovery.
Off day today, three game series with the Tampa Bay Rays over the weekend. Andujar out for the season. Judge back? Stanton back? Didi back within a month. Louie Louie back? Bird back? Tulowitzki back? Thairo Estrada may be another WIN METHOD gem blooming and growing.
WIN METHOD rules baseball.
I was watching the Oriole pregame show on MASN yesterday and they were talking of the new Oriole GM Mike Elias wanting to go the WIN METHOD route of finding players with character, integrity, and the desire to win.
yankeelover, many teams are trying to go the WIN METHOD route. It isn't easy, WIN METHOD built his path after decades of talking with players and then presenting it to George Steinbrenner. Then it all came together and since its inception and use no team in baseball has had more success and more wins than the Yankees.
Many teams are going the background check route, desire to win route, character/integrity route, but there is even more that only WIN METHOD knows, and has built on.
CC and Tanaka penciled in for Friday and Saturday games with Rays. No one yet for Sundays.
It so wonderful coming here each day and reading intelligent opinions, views, and facts. No fake stats and fake formulas and no dumb Yankee or baseball fans most of the time.
I am getting the distinct impression that manager Aaron Boone knows very well what he is doing. He has a plan and goes with the flow of events that are out of his control. Reacts to each circumstance and has won a heck of a lo of games since becoming a manager.
Walt Belamy, I hate WAR, Fip, Babip, Uzr, and a host of other fake formulas. The brain dead baseball fans love all that garbagola. Being brain dead takes you in all he wrong directions.
Andujar ou for the season takes care of one decision.
Back in action tomorrow. Would love to take this series too.

Nice lineup. If they produce when it matters most we can win.
I don't care how the guys do it, be it with any combination of offense, defense, hitting, pitching, fielding, or who does it in any combination with teammates, the win is the only thing that matters, and the only stat that counts, and the only stat that determines the best.
If a team was able to sign Machado, Harper, and Trout to start this season, only one thing would happen for sure.....he team would go bankrupt!
Yanks up 1-0 after 2.
Morales home run puts Yankees up 1-0 after two.
1-1 game after five innings.
1-1 after 6.

Chad Green fails in relief putting Yankees down 2-1 and then Torres throwing error puts Yankees down 3-1 in mid eighth.
Voit homers to lead off 9th to bring Yanks to within one run, Sanchez single, Torres double, Frazier intentional walk, bases loaded, one out, Maybin up. Wild pitch ties game, men on 2nd and 3rd still one out. Maybin grounds into force out at plate, two outs, Urshela up. Urshela does it again with another hit to win the game 4-3.
The Yankeeeeeeeeeeeees Win. Three run comeback in the 9th for a 4-3 win. Urshela again with the walk off hit.
Final. Yankees win 4-3. Score 3 runs in 9th with the walk off game winner from Urshela.
Yankees in first place. At least until at least the next game. Big, big, come from behind win with three runs in the ninth for the 4-3 win. Urshela with a magical season gets game winning walk off hit.
Yes we can, we did, and we will. WINS!
What a game. A really big win taking down the Rays 100 MPH ace reliever with three ninth inning runs.
I can't believe how many hard hit balls the Yankees barreled in the 9th on high 90 to over 100 mph pitches.
Need to do it again tomorrow.
It took a long time and it might not last for a long time, but it feels good to be in first place. Lets go Yankees.
I was so elated, I couldn't post last night. Loved the ninth inning rally and the great a bats by every Yankee batter, even the outs. They all made the Rays pitcher work hard and got the best results, a win.

Steve, Our YankeeMike and ymike673 are on the ends of the spectrum. YankeeMike on the top and ymike673 on the bottom of the bottom.
Gregorius is going to start at shortstop in an extended spring training game Monday night.
Also Stanton is going to start in the Tampa Tarpons single A game Monday night.
Yankees scratch out one run in third for a 1-0 thru three innings.
Yanks up 1-0 after 4.
Steve, Thanks for thinking of me. That is one heck of a sad forum. The negativity and stupidity is amazing.
Tanaka goes six innings of shutout ball. It's up to the bullpen now. Kahnle first in and gives up HR to first batter. Gets the next three batters, but it is 1-1 mid seventh.
The home run off of Kahnle was not a bad pitch or a mistake. The batter made a good swing on an high inside fast ball and hi i out. It happens.
Britton in for the 8h with a 1-1 tie.
Britton with a ten pitch 1,2,3 inning.
Chapman in for the 9th at 1-1.
1-1 after 8.
Chapman with a 13 pitch 1,2,3 inning.
Urshela with 2 strikes on him fouls off 7 pitches then flies out to the right center field fence. On to extra innings.
Holder in for the 10th.
Holder with an 11 pitch, 1,2,3 inning.
We go to the eleventh. Another great game from both teams. Baseball, the greatest sport in the world, day in day out, everyday.
Cessa in for the 11th and is the 6th Yankee pitcher of the game.
Cessa gives up HR. Yanks come to bat down 2-1. Is there another rally possible.
Final. Yankees lose 2-1 in eleven innings. Sanchez destroyed us today. Five at bats, four strikeouts and ends game grounding into a double play.
Tough loss, but there was only one at bat a player produce when it counted. That was Torres with Hicks on second base, but Hicks got thrown out at home running through the stop sign by the third base coach. Hicks is pressing and and not in a productive baseball mental state right now.
Rubber game tomorrow. No one named to start for the Yankees yet.
Two games so far this weekend series. 20 innings played and each team with a one run win.
Combined linescore for both games. 20 innings.
Rays 5 runs 16 hits 1 error
Yanks 5 runs 17 hits 2 errors
The rubber game is tomorrow. Would love to take this series.
Chad Green named to start tomorrow. We need to get some runs.
Tomorrow we face another pitcher who hasn't lost a game yet this season. Meets our needs.
You don't get the big hits, you don't win.
I don't mind Gary Sanchez as the Yankee catcher, but in my opinion I do not think he should ever bat higher than seventh in the lineup. You never know what spot in the lineup will come up when it matters, but a player with his lack of batting skills yet anytime home run threat is great in the bottom third of the lineup. I still believe that management knows what they are doing so we have to ride on their decisions.
The Yankees are calling Greens start today as an 'opener'. I wonder how far he goes, likely depending if he is producing or not.
Every Yankee reliever should be able to go at least one inning today.
Victor Grandozi, I agree. Let him be a threat at the lower end of the order. Let the men who make contact, get on base, and are able to run hit at the top and middle of the lineup. Sanchez is perfect in the 7 or 8 hole.

Glad to see Morales in the lineup again. He needs to be there against righties most of the time.
Our pitchers need to keep us in the game and our lineup needs to produce more than what they have these last two games.
Another game with first place on the line. Lets go Yankees.
Green fails giving up 2 runs but Yanks lead 3-2 after 2 on Gardners 2 run HR.
Cortes gets last out in second inning and is in for the third.
Cortes is not the answer Yankees down 5-3 after 3.
Hicks 2 run HR ties game at 5 after 4. Do we have a pitcher who can put up zeroes.
Cortes stays in and throws a scoreless fifth.
Ottavino in to get final out of the 6th. We need to score.
Seven run sixth puts Yanks up 12-5.
Yanks up 12-5 after 6.
Chance Adams in for the 7th.
Final. Yankees win 13-5. Big win, second straight series from Rays. Take first place again.
Adams pitches final 3 innings for Yankees without giving up a run and saving the bullpen from being used but for one out Ottavino recorded. Big win 13-5. Gardner and Estrada come up big amongst others.
Yankees hit the road for a week. Four games in Baltimore and three game weekend series in Kansas City. I know the Yankees read this blog/forum, it is the only one worth reading, with common sense, speaks truths, and is uplifting and positive. So NO LET UPS GUYS, win both series and keep the pedal to the metal. LETS GO YANKEES.
Yeah guys, what johnsondc said. Wins are all that matters.
Happ starts tomorrow in Baltimore. If the bats produce like they did today we can do well. Everybody produces is the key.
Seven game road trip. For me as a fan a winning road trip is good = 4-3. A really good road trip iw 5-2. A great road trip is 6-1 or better.
Another nice fact, today the Yankees beat another undefeated starting pitcher. That's two, one for each of the last two weekend series.
Nice way to start a road trip. NYC to Baltimore.
We can only play one game at a time and win one game at a time. Win series and keep moving forward.
No let downs. Keep focused and eyes on the target. The playoffs and beyond.
Let downs are relatively common when playing a lesser team after playing a better team in a big series.
Four game series with O's. Winning the first game sets the tone and keeps the momentum in our favor.
