This season we appear to have improved the roster in all areas. Adding Stanton, Walker, Drury, etc. will surely make this team better. Having Robertson, Kahnle, and Gray for the entire season should also improve the team. The only injury of consequence is Greg Birds bone spur, the surgery he just underwent, and him being out for about two months. As usual we will play the hand we are dealt and overcome all roadblocks and obstacles.
We have several players at AAA Scranton chomping at the bit while blooming and growing that will be heard from and make their presence felt this season. You know their names, Torres, Andujar, German, and others. This 2018 Yankee team is deep, has gained confidence and experience, and has backups close at hand.
As I started to write this post I noticed a post by Cory. I thought his post was very insightful and positive and I didn't want it to get bypassed because of being posted in a past blog, so I am reposting it right here now. Thank you for your post Cory.
----- I will be doing the ten game sets and posting them here as I did last season.
Here is the sets from last season.
10. 6-4
20. 7-3 = 13-7
30. 8-2 = 21-9
40. 3-7 = 24-16
50. 6-4 = 30-20
60. 7-3 = 37-23
70. 2-8 = 39-31
80. 4-6 = 43-37
90. 4-6 = 47-43
100. 7-3 = 54-46
110. 5-5 = 59-51
120. 6-4 = 65-55
130. 5-5 = 70-60
140. 5-5 = 75-65
150. 8-2 = 83-67
160. 7-3 = 90-70
Note the sets from games 61-90. We were 10-20. That is awful baseball. Still finished 91-71. With everything else staying the same if that 30 game skid could be bettered this season to just 15-15 that would mean this season could wind up 96-66. If we improve the three 5-5 sets from last season by one game that would take this season to 99-63. And if we raise the 3-7 set to 4-6 that could take this season to 100 wins.
It will be up to the players on the field producing when it matters most, but it is surely possible.-----
It is not only Cory with great posts, it is all of your posts, every single one of you from all over the world who post your comments and views here. And all of the readers of the WIN METHOD blog from all over the world, even if you do not post. We have surpassed 320 million views and are getting bigger and bigger every day. Yes, we still get some stat frauds, but they are good for us and also and serve a purpose. The stat frauds give us a guidepost and remind us of just how meaningless and useless their individual stats are. There is no doubt to anyone here who is a WIN METHOD fan that only wins can take a team to the playoffs. Only wins and winning as always, do now, and always will in the future, determine the best players and teams. THANK YOU ALL WIN METHOD FANS.
Now it is just about that time where we all stand up and cheer our team for the 2018 season!
LETS GO YANKEES

«Oldest ‹Older 1601 – 1800 of 2301 Newer› Newest»Stanton with a opposite field first row 320 foot 2 run home run gives the Yankees a cushion and lead 8-5 going into the 9th. Counts the same as a 450 footer.
Final, a tough win, nonetheless a win. 8-5.
Shreve came up big tonight.
Rubber game tomorrow afternoon as we celebrate Americas birthday and our freedom. CC starts at 1 PM.
Last night German and Warren gave up five runs and both left with men on base and in scoring position. Cole, Shreve, and Chapman gave up nothing and carried the day for the Yankees.
Forgot, happy fourth everyone.
God bless America on her 242nd anniversary. America is great. Happy 4th.
Wednesday 7/4 1:05pm
CC Sabathia (L)
vs. Braves - Julio Teheran (R)
1. Brett Gardner (L) LF
2. Aaron Judge (R) RF
3. Aaron Hicks (S) CF
4. Giancarlo Stanton (R) DH
5. Didi Gregorius (L) SS
6. Gleyber Torres (R) 2B
7. Greg Bird (L) 1B
8. Kyle Higashioka (R) C
9. Neil Walker (S) 3B
Five lefty bats today. L/R order. Andujar day off. Everyone have a great July 4th.
Lets celebrate with a win today. Do it again CC.
Happy Independence Day WIN METHOD fans. We have two things to celebrate here. One, our nations freedoms, and our freedom from meaningless useless individual stats.
Happy Independence Day. Lets go Yankees.
Three innings complete, Yankees lead 4-0. Stanton with a 3 run Ballantyne fourth of July blast from the past.
Just for the record Greg Birds second inning rbi single was the first risp rbi hit for the Yankees this three game series.
CC goes six innings and leaves with a 5-2 lead and Yankees coming to bat. Another tough grinding effort from the veteran.
6-2 Yankees after seven.
6-2 Yankees after 8.
Final, Yankees win 6-2 and take 2 of 3 from the Braves winning another series.
Off day tomorrow and Tanaka likely to start a game early next week.
Winning games with home runs but not putting teams away because production with base hits with runners in scoring position is sorely lacking.
Off day tomorrow then a road trip. Eleven games in ten days. Three in three days with the Blue Jays, then four in three days with the Orioles, then four in four days with the Indians.
Then the All-Star break.
Torres on the 10 day DL. Will be out until after the allstar break. Misses 11 game road trip. Hopefully that is all. Hip flexor strain.
Lets see what roster moves management makes. They have all the information and we can only guess. We always play the hand we are dealt, deal with the situation, and move forward. We have depth. The team just needs to up its game as a team. Lets go Yankees.
We have Wade and Torreyes although Torreyes is dealing with a personal situation. Higashioka, right now has replaced Sanchez and is doing better offensively and defensively for the time being.
It's a long season and every team will have injuries to deal with. WIN METHOD fans are smart and do not whine and cry about them. We overcome. We are making the Yankees great again.
It takes many players over the season to help a team win games. Losing players for periods of time over the season is part of the game. The best teams overcome obstacles. Don't worry, be happy.
Enjoy the off day, but don't blow the road trip. Clear your mind and come back with a strong winning road trip.
Grayskies, Louie Louie, and German listed for the weekend series in Toronto.
One possibility, Grayskies is do for a good start and maybe even a win. He has to pitch well enough every so often to keep his woeful self in the rotation.
Gray is a solid example for not trading for another teams pitcher unless they are certified by WIN METHOD. WIN METHOD may be wrong every once in a while but the stat analysts are wrong more than half the time.
All we can ask for is the guys to do their best. It appears to me that Boone is not as sharp as Girardi.
When the Yankee lineup stays inside the ball and hit it to the opposite field they are a better team than when they try to pull the ball.
Mickey Littlebear, hear hear. We are winning with power, but I still would like to see more hits with men on base other than home runs. Throw in less strikeouts with a man on third and less than two outs.
Yuch! So Gray sets the tone of the Yankee road trip.
Lets think positive. Gray wins the first game of the road trip and then again in Baltimore.
Need to keep producing wins. Wins are the ONLY way to get to the playoffs.
Gray will pitch against sub .500 teams in his next two starts.
Neil Golub, does not mean he has a chance to win?
Boston/Yankee, Hoping for two wins, but if he doesn't win at least one he should be dumped.
Many stars on the Yankees team, but it means nothing if you don't play together and perform as a team and do the things that create and manufacture runs.
At least there will be no rainouts in Toronto.
Friday 7/6 7:07pm
Sonny Gray (R)
@ Blue Jays - Sam Gaviglio (R)
1. Brett Gardner (L) LF
2. Aaron Judge (R) RF
3. Aaron Hicks (S) CF
4. Giancarlo Stanton (R) DH
5. Didi Gregorius (L) SS
6. Miguel Andujar (R) 3B
7. Greg Bird (L) 1B
8. Austin Romine (R) C
9. Neil Walker (S) 2B
Five lefty bats. Boone with a steady L/R again. Gray is the question mark.
Gray on the hot seat. Put up or shut up time. Start winning.
In my view, if Gray can't pitch a quality game tonight he should be sent packing.
Lets start off big, really big.
Gray throwing garbage yet again. This guys has nothing. Maybe the post pathetic pitcher to wear a Yankee uniform in decades. Down 5-0 after two innings.
Yanks down 5-0 after 2.
Gray not allowed to come out for the third innings. Can the bullpen keep us in the game and can the lineup climb out of the hole Grayskies put us in?
Yanks down 5-1 after 4.
If George Steinbrenner was alive today I do not think Sonny Gray would be on this team anymore, and that would be great.
Rotation, Louie Louie, Tanaka, CC, German, Loasigia.
Yanks down 5-2 after 6.
Hale has pitched five scoreless innings keeping Yanks in game but still trail 5-2 after 7.
Final 6-2 Grayskies loss.
Hale pitched the rest of the game, six innings and only allowed one run in his last inning. He saved the bullpen but we lost first game of series because of a useless starter.
Louie Louie today to even series, pick up the pieces, and clean up the mess that Grayskies left.
Another not good fact, the Yankees in yet another game failed to get a hit with runners in scoring position with the most egregious at bat being Stantons with the bases loaded and one out in the fifth inning after the Yankees got to within 5-2 and this being there big chance to turn the game around. Stanton with a 3-0 count and the bases loaded, no outs, swings at a pitch outside the strike zone and below his knees for strike one, then swings at a pitch above his shoulders for strike two, then takes strike three belt high completely in strike box for the second out and kills the rally.
Toronto is throwing the sought after trade deadline pitcher JA Happ against Louie Louie.
Our power hitters are starting to embarrass themselves a little by trying to hit home runs all the time and striking out so much. A strikeout is the most useless at bat and out there is.
Saturday 7/7 4:07pm
Luis Severino (R)
@ Blue Jays - J.A. Happ (L)
1. Brett Gardner (L) LF
2. Aaron Judge (R) RF
3. Giancarlo Stanton (R) DH
4. Aaron Hicks (S) CF
5. Miguel Andujar (R) 3B
6. Didi Gregorius (L) SS
7. Brandon Drury (R) 2B
8. Kyle Higashioka (R) C
9. Greg Bird (L) 1B
Drury at 2B. Bird in against a lefty. If we don't produce when it counts we will lose games we should be winning.
It's a shame when one guy (Grayskies) keeps hurting the team every time he is in a game.
It appears to me, and maybe I hopefully will be proven wrong, but Boone does not know what small ball is and how on a team as powerful as the Yankees would be a big asset and threat.
Gardner and Judge open game with back to back home runs, but the big hit is Drurys two rbi double when it counts to give Yankees 4-0 lead with the Jays coming to bat.
Second inning, Yanks load bases with one out. Hicks and Andujar strike out on pitches at least a foot out of the strike zone. These are the failures that keep the opposing team in the game instead of crushing them and making an easy game for your pitcher.
By the way Happ looks terrible.
Yanks up 4-2 after 2.
Louie Louie struggling, but Yanks lead 7-3 after 4.
Yanks holding onto a 7-4 lead thru seven.
Final, Yanks and Louie Louie win 8-5.
German starts the rubber game tomorrow.
Scored our first 2 runs on HRs to start the game, but we won the game the old fashioned way, scored 6 runs on hits when it mattered.
We scored more runs on hits today than in our last six games combined.
Loasigia is getting and MRI for shoulder inflammation.
Lets take this series guys.
We need to keep winning. We need to win series after series.
Domingo German it is your day.
Sunday 7/8 1:07pm

@ Blue Jays - Ryan Borucki (L)
1. Brett Gardner (L) CF
2. Aaron Judge (R) DH
3. Giancarlo Stanton (R) RF
4. Miguel Andujar (R) 3B
5. Didi Gregorius (L) SS
6. Clint Frazier (R) LF
7. Brandon Drury (R) 2B
8. Greg Bird (L) 1B
9. Austin Romine (R) C
Hicks out (he tweaked a hamstring yesterday). Andujar in cleanup spot. Frazier in LF.
Frazier gets another chance to produce. When if ever will he step up and prove himself on the big stage.
Lets have another game like yesterday. Score runs with singles, doubles, triples, and outs. Don't forget a home run or two.
Andujar, batting cleanup, drives in first Yankee run with ground out and a man on third. Yes! 1-0 Yankees after one.
Yankees leading 1-0 thru four.
Clint Frazier is very disappointing with his at bats.
1-1 with six complete. We desperately need some runs. Got a run on an out, but none with a hit.
1-1 thru 8. A run, a run, my kingdom for a run.
Extra innings tied at one.
Yanks scratch a run in 10th by Bird sticking out his padded elbow to get HBP. Ward pinch runs. Romine with an excellent sac bunt moving Ward to 2nd. Gardner single to left and Ward scores for the 2-1 lead. Robertson coming in for the close out try.
Robertson with a 1,2,3 save for a Yankee 2-1 win, and a series win.
Small ball wins games. To steal a golf term, home runs for the show, small ball for the dough.
Final 2-1 ten inning win. Yanks win first series of road trip. Two, four game series coming up this week.
Doubleheader in Baltimore tomorrow. CC and Cessa listed. Can we support our starters with a lot of runs.
German goes six innings allowing 1 run for an excellent start. Warren goes two innings allowing 0 runs for a very good relief effort. Green goes an inning allowing 0 runs and sending the game into extra innings. After the Yankees score Robertson closes out a 1,2,3 inning for the save and Yankees win. Great game by the pitchers. Not a very good game by the lineup, but just enough. The win is what counts.
The Yankee named rotation for the Oriole four game series, CC, Cessa, Tanaka, Gray. Anything more than a split of the four games would be gravy unless the lineup does what it is capable of doing when it counts most.
With a double header tomorrow a 26th man will be added to the roster and should be a pitcher. Even if CC gives us 6 and Cessa 5 we will need 7 innings from the bullpen if we are up in both games. Then, I don't we can expect more the 5 maybe 6 tops from Tanaka the next day. Worst is the final game where nightmare Grayskies starts. Only thing with him is he is so overdo to pitch a quality start.
I hope if the Yankees decide on obtaining a starter it is not just some body similar to Grayskies. If push comes to shove I would rather go all in and get an top tier arm and get rid of someone like Frazier and one or two other top rated minor leaguers.
Taking both games today would be a giant step forward to taking this series.
I'd bet the Yankees have lost a minimum of three games this season because of strikeouts not scoring runners. Probably even a few more.
Monday 7/9 4:05pm
CC Sabathia (L)
@ Orioles - Jimmy Yacabonis (R)
1. Aaron Hicks (S) CF
2. Aaron Judge (R) RF
3. Didi Gregorius (L) SS
4. Giancarlo Stanton (R) DH
5. Clint Frazier (R) LF
6. Neil Walker (S) 1B
7. Brandon Drury (R) 3B
8. Kyle Higashioka (R) C
9. Tyler Wade (L) 2B
Game one lineup. Gardner, Bird, Andujar, Romine out on bench for first game of doubledip.
Frazier keeps knocking on the door, the Yanks open it, give him the chance to come in, and all he does is stand there. Another chance today.
NJYANKEE, when Frazier does enter, if ever, he then must earn his welcome with consistent production when it counts so he can stay as part of the team. Andujar and Torres have, among others.
Let go Yankees. Score a ton of runs in both games.
Yankees hold 3-0 lead after three innings. Two of the runs on RBI base hits, one on a HR. Also Frazier plays a single into a double with a poor defensive play giving the O's a chance at a run with a base hit but CC slams the door.
Yankee bats struggling but lead 3-2 after five innings.
Bring back Girardi.
CC gives up 3 run HR in 6th and gets no one out. Holder in to close out inning, Yankees now down 5-4 after 6.
Frazier blows another opportunity. Four at bats, 3 Ks and a dribbler infield ground out.
Higashioka K's with a man on third (tying run) and one out in 9th. Yanks lose 5-4 as Orioles snap 6 game losing streak at the expense of Boone and the Yankees.
Final, Yanks lose first game of doubleheader 5-4.
Hate to post this after a loss, but during this game the WIN METHOD blog with the most knowledgeable baseball fans in the world broke four hundred million views. 400,000,000.
Second game is starting but I don't have a starting lineup.
Monday 7/9 7:40pm

5. Greg Bird (L) 1B
6. Miguel Andujar (R) 3B
7. Clint Frazier (R) LF
8. Austin Romine (R) C
9. Neil Walker (S) 2B
Frazier in again.
Frazier in again and makes his presence felt in the first inning as he ends a giant Yankees threat by striking out again with the bases loaded. Yanks do score one on Didi rbi hit.
WOW! 400,000,000. Unbelievable. But the WIN METHOD is the best baseball opinion board there is anywhere.
Yanks up 1-0 after 2.
Yanks up 3-0 after 4.
Yanks up 4-0 after 6.
Cessa has gone six scoreless innings so far and leads 4-0. Just what we needed. Still should have won the first game.
After striking out the first two times up this game Clint Frazier finally hit the ball but it was a weak double play grounder. So far in today's two games 7 at bats 5 strikeouts, a weak ground out and a double play ground out.
Romine ices game with 2 run home run in 8th for a 6-0 lead.
Congratulation WIN METHOD fans and all posters from around the world for all your posts and support for being part of the four hundred million viewers.
Final 10-2 win for Yankees.
We should have won both games. We gave away the first game.
Tanaka is back and starting tonight.
I would think that Cessa's six shutout innings is a total and utter embarrassment to Grayskies. Lets see if steps up tomorrow.
A split of games today and tomorrow is a fail. We need to win both.
The bullpen is well rested and ready to go all out before the All Star break. Five really good innings and a win from Tanaka would be finer today, six innings even finer.
Rumor of Yankees looking at Machado in a deal. Not true.
Tuesday 7/10 7:05pm

6. Miguel Andujar (R) 3B
7. Greg Bird (L) 1B
8. Austin Romine (R) C

Five lefty bats. At least no Frazier. We need to win every game and play like you mean it.
No Steven for a long time now. He may have given up after his last drunken tirade and accusatory posts.
Deb F....stat frauds only try to rile things up. They can't defend their position with their fake stats. That is why WIN METHOD supporters get banned from all their sites. There are countless posters here who can testify to that, but not one stat fraud has ever been banned from the WIN METHOD blog. That should be all anyone needs to know regarding the WIN METHOD and stat frauds. WIN METHOD fact defeat and kill stat frauds every time all the time.
Just need to score runs more consistently and especially early in games.
HerecomestheJudge, I agree, but sometimes that is easier said than done.
0-0 after 2.
Yankees look like they are not enthused and appear lifeless. Down 2-0 after 4.
Yankees down 2-0 after 4.
Yankee lineup perfect so far, 12 up 12 down. Tanaka struggling and down 2-0 thru 4.
Good job guys, you woke the Yanks up. Single, walk, 3 run HR for 3-2 lead mid 5th.
As I write Tanaka gives up game tying HR on first pitch in bottom of 5th.
3-3 after 6.
Yankees score 2 in top of 7th, Orioles score 2 in the bottom of the 7th. 5-5 after 7.
Yanks and Betances lose it in 9th 6-5 as O's get walkoff win.
The best the Yanks can do now in this series is a split with a win tomorrow. Creadful when you are playing the worst team in baseball.
1-10 5-5
11-20 6-4 = 11-9
21-30 9-1 = 20-10
31-40 8-2 = 28-12
41-50 5-5 = 33-17
51-60 9-1 = 42-18
61-70 6-4 = 48-22
71-80 5-5 = 53-27
81-90 6-4 = 59-31
A winning 10 game set and a loss of 4 games in the standings. We are going to the playoffs but not as the division winner unless we up our game. Not really playing top notch baseball these past three 10 game sets, yet still winning.
Who would have thunk! Gray today to try to even this series and avoid total embarassment.
Think positive WIN METHOD fans. The rest of the season is going to be a lot more fun for us when we catch and best the sux for the division title.
Steve, hear hear.
Steve, Yes we can and we will. Lets go Yankees.

6. Greg Bird (L) 1B
7. Miguel Andujar (R) 3B
8. Austin Romine (R) C
9. Tyler Wade (L) 2B
Wade at 2B. Need to win to split this four game series.
Did anyone notice how the O's won last night in the ninth against Betances. Opposite field hits going with the pitch. I'd like to see Yankee hitters doing a lot more of that. Derek Jeter was a master at it and it got him and the Yankees five World Series titles.
Steve, Yes we will come back stronger and better.
Very happy that Judge and Stanton are hot participating in the home run derby farce perpetrated by MLB and the stat frauds.
The definition of stat fraud is farce.
Greg Bird third inning grand slam has Yankees up 5-0 after five innings. That should help Grayskies out.
However in the fourth inning Yankees have men on second and third with no one out and do not score. Popup, popup, grounder. This is the reason we keep teams in games and then lose some close games that should never have been close.
5-0 Yanks after 5. Grayskies looking good tonight.
8-0 Yankees thru eight.
Final Yankees win 9-0. A split is not good enough unless you are playing a team as good as you are. When you are playing a bottom feeder a split is pathetic.
Gray went six innings and Cole the final three for the shutout. Bullpen well rested for the four game Indian series.
Another four game series before we close out the first half of the season which is very late because MLB officials have a hard time trying to figure out what half of 162 is.
Louie Louie tonight in the opening game of the four game series in Cleveland.
Hopefully the Yankee bats will set the tone for these last four games with resound.
Two big time winning pitchers facing each other tonight. Could be a good game.
Be the best Louie Louie. Be the best. Lets go Yankees.
To the Yankee hitters. Make believe you are all as good as Derek Jeter.

Lets go Yankees.
Again and again it come down to production when it counts. It is always production when it counts.
It may happen, but why would you give away a prospect just to sign Machado for a couple of months?
Doug Shoen, maybe the Yanks know they can sign him for the future.
Ivan Noriokos, fine, but why then have to pay him at least 30mil per year, as many are saying, for several years when you have your own home grown kids that need to be paid down the road.
Louie Louie puts Yankees in 2-0 hole in first inning.
Yanks down 3-2 after 3 as Gardner 2 run HR gets us back in it. Louie Louie has nothing tonight. No K's, 7 hits, 3 runs and getting hit hard.
All even at four after five.
4-4 thru 6. Louie Louie goes 5 and a no decision.
Yankees get 2 in 8th and lead 6-4 after 8. Chapman coming in for the save try.
Gardner with a second HR of the game adds another run in the top of the 9th. 7-4
Final, Yanks win 7-4.
Chapman with a 1,2,3 ninth, the save and a Yankee 7-4 win.
Good start to this series. Louie Louie came up empty but the bullpen Warren, Robertson, Betances, and Chapman each with a scoreless inning. Robertson gets the win, Betances a hold, and Chapman a save.
German gets the start tomorrow.
Very nice winning the first game of this series. Hope we don't let it slip slide away.
German tonight, CC, then Tanaka. Keep the bats alive and scoring.
Gardner, the leader, leads the way last night.
Re-reading several posts this month there where comments regarding the Yankee play or lack thereof. My take is the Yankees are playing great baseball. Great baseball as I see it is any team who plays .600 baseball or better. Right now there are only four teams in both leagues playing .600 baseball. They are all superior league American League teams. I just don't think the Yankees are playing with an urgency. That may stem from having so many youngsters without much big league experience, an inexperienced manager, they are now playing at their best, or a combination of the three.

This would be a big game to win tonight. 2-0 is better than 1-1.
German has his usual bad first inning, but allows just 1 run. Yanks trail 1-0 after one.
Not looking good tonight. German getting hammered.
Yanks down 4-0 after 2.
Yanks down 4-0 after 4.
Yankees score 3 in 5th and German gives 2 right back. Trail 6-3 after 5.
Same old same old, another one run loss as Yanks come back but fall short. I know we don't second guess, BUT some of Boones managerial decisions are not second guesses, they are just bad baseball decisions.
Final 6-5 one run loss. UGH!
CC starts tomorrow night.
CC tonight in the great FOX Saturday night game. Far better than the despised espn sunday night boondoggle.
WIN METHOD fans. I am posting a link to a stat fraud article. It is very long and in the end, in my opinion, does a fantastic job in illustrating just how useless and meaningless individual stats are.
Pay very close attention to all the convoluted formulas by so many stat frauds each trying to outdo the other.
If you don't win you aren't the best. The best teams and the best players win the most. Then they go to the playoffs and win their way through until there is only one team standing.
Steve, you forgot the link.
bigbadwolf, thanks and sorry. The article is so long and such trash maybe it was providence telling me to forget it. Those stat frauds spend a lot of time and effort in their endeavors. They truly believe in what they are doing.
http://www.baseballthinkfactory.org/btf/scholars/furtado/articles/Why_Do_We_Need_Another_Player_Evaluation_Method.htm
Steve, yes a very long article. Lets make it common sense which convoluted formulas can't do.
If you want the best starting rotation of five pitchers so far this season just take the five win percentage pitchers with 12 or more decisions so far this season and you will be winning at over an .800 pace.
Everyone, lets make it simple, you win and you help your team win, you are the best. And to be the best you better be able to perform and produce under pressure and on the big stage, or to use a word the stat frauds abhor, you need to be CLUTCH.
If we are to believe the stat frauds, it is possible that all of their "statistically best" players could fail to make the playoffs because they are so good.
Cory, if all the stat fraud greats fail to make the playoffs, what does say about all the players who do make the playoffs? Do the stat frauds realize how stupid they sound when they make their utterly ridiculous claims?
This is a very interesting and enlightening discussion.
The stat frauds want me to believe them when they claim their 'cleverly' devised and thought out player stat formulas they who the best players in baseball are.
WIN METHOD wants me to believe that the players who help lead their team to the playoffs are the best.
Now it is quite possible that some stat fraud players with the highest stats are on teams that reach the playoffs and some are not.
However WIN METHOD says all the players that help lead their team to the playoffs are the best when measured by the standing they have. IE..Comparing a utility player to a utility player, etc.
Using common sense and logic WIN METHOD would decidedly be right and the best way to judge players.
Fans, keep in mind, winning is the reason the games are played. Achieving greats stats for an individual may be great for them but if it doesn't help the team reach the playoffs those stats are not very important.
When you read the article like the one Steve posted you realize just how important winning is and how unimportant individual stats are. The stat frauds jump through an awful lot of hoops to get the results they desire, but the results are fools gold. Worthless.
