This season we appear to have improved the roster in all areas. Adding Stanton, Walker, Drury, etc. will surely make this team better. Having Robertson, Kahnle, and Gray for the entire season should also improve the team. The only injury of consequence is Greg Birds bone spur, the surgery he just underwent, and him being out for about two months. As usual we will play the hand we are dealt and overcome all roadblocks and obstacles.
We have several players at AAA Scranton chomping at the bit while blooming and growing that will be heard from and make their presence felt this season. You know their names, Torres, Andujar, German, and others. This 2018 Yankee team is deep, has gained confidence and experience, and has backups close at hand.
As I started to write this post I noticed a post by Cory. I thought his post was very insightful and positive and I didn't want it to get bypassed because of being posted in a past blog, so I am reposting it right here now. Thank you for your post Cory.
----- I will be doing the ten game sets and posting them here as I did last season.
Here is the sets from last season.
10. 6-4
20. 7-3 = 13-7
30. 8-2 = 21-9
40. 3-7 = 24-16
50. 6-4 = 30-20
60. 7-3 = 37-23
70. 2-8 = 39-31
80. 4-6 = 43-37
90. 4-6 = 47-43
100. 7-3 = 54-46
110. 5-5 = 59-51
120. 6-4 = 65-55
130. 5-5 = 70-60
140. 5-5 = 75-65
150. 8-2 = 83-67
160. 7-3 = 90-70
Note the sets from games 61-90. We were 10-20. That is awful baseball. Still finished 91-71. With everything else staying the same if that 30 game skid could be bettered this season to just 15-15 that would mean this season could wind up 96-66. If we improve the three 5-5 sets from last season by one game that would take this season to 99-63. And if we raise the 3-7 set to 4-6 that could take this season to 100 wins.
It will be up to the players on the field producing when it matters most, but it is surely possible.-----
It is not only Cory with great posts, it is all of your posts, every single one of you from all over the world who post your comments and views here. And all of the readers of the WIN METHOD blog from all over the world, even if you do not post. We have surpassed 320 million views and are getting bigger and bigger every day. Yes, we still get some stat frauds, but they are good for us and also and serve a purpose. The stat frauds give us a guidepost and remind us of just how meaningless and useless their individual stats are. There is no doubt to anyone here who is a WIN METHOD fan that only wins can take a team to the playoffs. Only wins and winning as always, do now, and always will in the future, determine the best players and teams. THANK YOU ALL WIN METHOD FANS.
Now it is just about that time where we all stand up and cheer our team for the 2018 season!
LETS GO YANKEES

«Oldest ‹Older 2201 – 2301 of 2301Lets go guys, it is up to you, we can only root for you. If you don't win enough games you may not go to the playoffs. That is unacceptable. You should all know the WIN METHOD tenet, WIN OR GO HOME.
Didi three run home run gives Yankees 3-0 lead after one.
Yanks up 4-1 after 2.
CC struggling mightily with over 50 pitches in two innings but leads 4-1. He may not get five innings.
4-2 Yankees after 3. CC with 77 pitches. If Boone allows CC to pitch the 4th Boone should be fired instantly.
Red Sox clearly a better team.
Red Sox clearly a better team
Holder in for the fourth and gives up 5 runs and has gotten no out. He is taken out.
Yanks down 10-4 after 4.
Holder and Green get hammered in the fourth in relief of CC and give up 8 runs. Yankees down 10-4 after being up 4-0.
Yanks down 14-5 after 6.
This is going to be character testing time for the Yankee team and their manager. In two months we will find out for better or worse.
Final, Yankees humiliated by sux and lose 15-7.
The big question is......have the Yankees hit bottom yet?
Lets see what Louie Louie brings to the table tomorrow. We need a win, bad.
Deb F, we need more than a win, we need an infusion. It's only over if you give up and when you give up you become a loser.
We did score 7 runs, but boy oh boy our pitching was atrocious last night. Seeing the quality of the way the sux are playing and how they just don't seem to give too many games away (unlike the Yankees) I would think it will be difficult for the Yankees to win the division. Right now, unless something drastically changes the Yankees will struggle to hold the wild card.
My opinion....The Yankees since the conclusion of last season have made trades, have had young players bloom and grow into proven major league players, have lost players including their manager and others. There is no question that the players on this have ability and talent, the teams win/loss record proves that. Something is missing and I believe that is manager Joe Girardi. Girardi led the Yankees to within one game of the World Series last year with this team and was let go by the Yankee hierarchy. Girardi was a proven leader and a brilliant manager, unfortunately I can't say the same about the present Yankee manager Aaron Boone. Boone may be the nicest guy in the world and may know baseball very well, but I believe the key ingredient in being a great manager is missing.
NJYANKEE, I am not one to blame a manager for a team winning or losing, the players on the field are the guys deciding wins and losses. The manager is responsible and accountable for team philosophy, creating a winning attitude and desire, players hustling, teaching ability, etc. To me, I do not think Boone has control nor respect from the players. It may be just me, but I was not happy that Boone did not wear the Yankee uniform until very recently while games where being played. I believe a managerial change is a must.
I understand the frustration the last two games have brought, but keep in my we still have the second best record in baseball and are on pace for more wins than this team has had in many years.
I believe you are using some dislike for Boone cloud you opinion on him and should allow the season to
Play out before making any judgements.
Speculation on how good or bad any manager is from fans is without any insight to what is really happening in the clubhouse and how that is transitioning to field play. With that said, Boone could be a fine manager but him replacing Joe Girardi is the problem. Girardi was a gem and when management replaced a gem who led his team to within one game of the WS and played fantastic INSPIRED baseball through the 2017 playoffs, that is what created the issues this team is having now. That is not on Boone, but on the people who made the decision to let Girardi go.
GoYanks, Yes the season will play out under Boone. I don't dislike Boone and he seems to be a fine person. I think the same about Girardi. I also believe Girardi should not have been let go.
Stanley Chin, I agree with the premiss that letting Girardi go after taking the team to the cusp of the WS last season was a very foolish decision. I really wonder if Hal was just trying to save a few dollars in manager salary.
GoYanks, So true, second best record in baseball and we complain. But couldn't that be caused to a large degree by the Yankee not rehiring Girardi after last seasons overwhelming success?
With what the team attained last season the expectations for this season were likely higher. Like winning the division and going to the World Series. Now that may not happen and the blamers need a foil. There can be only one final winner, but there can be four or five really great teams who do not win it all.
Don't give up Yankee fans. It isn't over. Never give up. Yes we can. Yes we will. Lets go Yankees.
Almost anyone in baseball could manage this Yankee team with the talent they have. It takes a different type of person to harness and guide the talent. I do not think Boone is that type of person.
Now all this could be just from the lower expectations for the team in 2017 and they did better and the higher expectations this season and they are not doing as well.
Cory
Success is measured soley on wins- seeing as Boone has guided the team to many wins thus far this season, I’m not sure it’s fair to discredit him by saying “well anyone could manage these guys”. If they do turn things around, he will have deserved as much credit as anyone else. Same idea if they don’t.
Guys, don't forget the injuries. Time lost by Torres, Sanchez, Judge, Monty, Frazier.
Vladimir Tinzak, all teams have injuries. Really can't use that as an excuse.
GoYanks, if can be a very big word.
Cory, when expectations are low, you have a good chance of beating them. When expectations are high, it is a little harder to beat them.

1. Brett Gardner (L) LF
2. Giancarlo Stanton (R) RF
3. Didi Gregorius (L) SS
4. Aaron Hicks (S) CF
5. Gleyber Torres (R) 2B
6. Greg Bird (L) 1B
7. Miguel Andujar (R) DH
8. Austin Romine (R) C
9. Neil Walker (S) 3B
Walker in at 3B, Andujar DH, 5 lefty bats. What will Louie Louie bring tonight?
Louie Louie, this is where an "ace" makes his presence felt.
First inning fireworks in Boston as both starting pitcher hit the leadoff batter. sux manager ejected from game. End result, Yankees dud, sux 3 runs.
Yankees trail 3-1 thru 3 innings.
Louie Louie goes 5 2/3. Bad first inning was the difference. Leaves down 4-1.
Yankees go down 4-1. Get one hit, no walks and just 86 pitch complete game.
Final, Yanks go down 4-1 and get just one hit. Not good.
Chance Adams has been called up from AAA and will make his first MLB start tomorrow for the Yankees. Good luck kid.
Uninspired baseball, one needs to look any further than the Yankee one hit output tonight.
4 PM game tomorrow and 8 PM Sunday.
The Yankees don't usually start first time pitchers on the road. I guess circumstances created the need. Adams will be sorely tested by the sux. While ex-Yankee Eovaldi throws strikes and mows the Yankee wild swingers down.
Heavy rain moving into Boston in about an hour. Might affect this afternoon's game.
The division may not yet be toast, but the Yankees need to start playing with some sense of urgency or it will be lost soon. The whole "golly, gosh, gee whiz" approach to losing isn't working.
Teams have come back from further than the Yankees are now in the past and even later in August. Yes we can.
Rain starting to move out. Game will be played and on time.
Saturday 8/4 4:05pm
Chance Adams (R)
@ Red Sox - Nathan Eovaldi (R)
1. Brett Gardner (L) LF
2. Giancarlo Stanton (R) DH

6. Greg Bird (L) 1B
7. Miguel Andujar (R) 3B
8. Austin Romine (R) C
9. Shane Robinson (R) RF
Robinson in RF. Not the same without Judge and Sanchez.
Yankees down 2-0 after one as Adams gives up 2 run HR.
Yanks trail 2-0 thru 3. Adams OK but for bloop single and the HR. Yankee lineup 9 up 9 down so far.
Yanks down 3-0 after 4.
Final, Yankees lose 4-1. Yes another loss, but Adams not horrendous.
Can Tanaka and the Yankees salvage one game of this series!
OK Yankee fans, do not fret, this team will make the playoffs. The playoffs are referred to as the second season because the only that counts from the the regular season is that you made it to the second season with winning and wins.
I think Aaron Judge is far more valuable and missed than fans believe.
Comment are few and far between, Yankee fans may be in shock, frustrated, aggravated, or any combination of the three.

8. Austin Romine (R) C
9. Shane Robinson (R) RF
Voit and Robinson in. Gardner in 7 hole.
Come on guys, lets try not to get swept. Lets go Yankees.
Lets go Yankees.
Yankees leave the bases loaded in the first.
Scoreless thru 3.
The sux score first. Yanks trail 1-0 after five.
Yankees finally. Score four runs in seventh to take a 4-1 lead with sux coming to bat. It's in the hands of the bullpen now.
Yanks take 4-1 lead in 7th. Key at bat, Robinson walk to load the bases with no outs. Big error by sux the difference.
Britton with a scoreless 7th. 4-1 Yanks.
Betances with a shutout 8th.
Chapman crashes again giving up 3 ninth inning runs for a 4-4 tie. Extra innings.
I don't believe this, it is a groundhog day nightmare.
Yankees blow it in 10th and go down 5-4. I proclaim the Yankees have finally hit the bottom of the barrel. Now we can start rising.
Final, yes the Yankees lose again with Chapman blowing a 3 run lead in the 9th.
1- 10 5-5
11- 20 6-4 = 11-9
21- 30 9-1 = 20-10
31- 40 8-2 = 28-12
41- 50 5-5 = 33-17
51- 60 9-1 = 42-18
61- 70 6-4 = 48-22
71- 80 5-5 = 53-27
81- 90 6-4 = 59-31
91-100 5-5 = 64-36
101-110 4-6 = 68-42
First losing 10 game set this season. And it was a disaster. The last 5 sets and 50 games
have put the Yankees in jeopardy of possibly not making the playoffs. Five for sets to right the ship, get back on the track, put up or shut up, anyone else have a cliche?
Cory, do or don't. And patience is a virtue. Very sad finish to last nights game.
The Yankees head to Chicago for a three game series with the White Sox. Lynn, CC, and Louie Louie named starters.
Cory, You do or you don't.
Here's something to take away form getting swept by the sux and the future.
""From the moment that a game ends, that game is in the past, win or lose.""
Lets go Yankees, time to move forward.
We enter our last third of the season. If we repeat our first third we will be fine.
Last year in games 111-160 the Yankees played 31-19 baseball. Just over a .600 clip. If we do that this season we will have 99 wins with two games to play.
Monday 8/6 8:10pm
Lance Lynn (R)
@ White Sox - Dylan Covey (R)
1. Brett Gardner (L) LF
2. Giancarlo Stanton (R) RF
3. Didi Gregorius (L) SS
4. Aaron Hicks (S) CF
5. Gleyber Torres (R) 2B
6. Greg Bird (L) 1B
7. Miguel Andujar (R) DH
8. Neil Walker (S) 3B
9. Kyle Higashioka (R) C
Walker 3B, Higashioka C, Andujar DH.
We can only root for you guys, you are the ones who need to perform, and for the past 50 games you haven't been that good.
0-0 after 2.
Yankee lineup has another perfect game so far, 9 up 9 down.
Yanks up 2-0 after 4.
Yanks up 4-0 after 6.
Lynn in his first start as a Yankee has pitched the best game of the season by any Yankee pitcher. Has gone 7 innings, 0 runs 1 hit, 19 consecutive batters retired and leads 4-0. Looks like he may be still in to pitch the 8th.
Final, finally a win 7-0. That's one. Lynn with a spectacular outing.
Very nice effort from Lynn. Hope CC can come close to the same tonight.
The Yankees also score 7 runs last night. You don't need to score many runs when you pitchers throw a shutout.
It is just about that time for blooming and growing to take us into the playoffs.
Lets get healthy and lets get hot just in time for the second season.
Tuesday 8/7 8:10pm
CC Sabathia (L)
@ White Sox - Reynaldo Lopez (R)
1. Aaron Hicks (S) CF
2. Giancarlo Stanton (R) RF
3. Didi Gregorius (L) SS
4. Gleyber Torres (R) 2B
5. Greg Bird (L) 1B
6. Miguel Andujar (R) DH
7. Neil Walker (S) 3B
8. Kyle Higashioka (R) C
9. Shane Robinson (R) LF
Robinson in LF for Gardner. Higashioka C. Walker 3B. Andujar DH.
Lets go Yankees.
0-0 after 2.
Yanks down 1-0 after 4.
Yankees being no-hit thru five and trail 1-0.
More Yankee futility. 1st and 3rd nobody out. Don't score. Pop up, pop up, strike out on a ball that bounces.
Yanks down 1-0 after 6.
1-1 after 8.
We go to extra innings tied at 1.
Stanton 2 run HR gives Yankees 3-1 lead in 10th. Britton coming in to try for the save.
Britton blows save allowing 2 run HR. All even 3-3 and going to the 11th.
3-3 thru 12 and on to the 13th.
Andujar rbi single in 13th wins game for Yankees 4-3.
Final Yankees win in 13 innings 4-3. Gray gets the win in relief. That's TWO.
Chance for a sweep tomorrow.
Louie Louie starts tonight and the Yankees have a chance for a three game sweep of the White Sox.
