WIN METHOD --- 2018 SEASON --- PRODUCING WHEN IT COUNTS

It is here WIN METHOD fans.  Tomorrow we start the 2018 baseball season.  We start with high hopes, high pie in the sky hopes.  The goal is winning the division, making the playoffs and advancing from there as far as wins and winning can take us.

This season we appear to have improved the roster in all areas.  Adding Stanton, Walker, Drury, etc. will surely make this team better.  Having Robertson, Kahnle, and Gray for the entire season should also improve the team.  The only injury of consequence is Greg Birds bone spur, the surgery he just underwent, and him being out for about two months.  As usual we will play the hand we are dealt and overcome all roadblocks and obstacles.

We have several players at AAA Scranton chomping at the bit while blooming and growing that will be heard from and make their presence felt this season.  You know their names, Torres, Andujar, German, and others.   This 2018 Yankee team is deep, has gained confidence and experience, and has backups close at hand.

As I started to write this post I noticed a post by Cory.  I thought his post was very insightful and  positive and I didn't want it to get bypassed because of being posted in a past blog, so I am  reposting it right here now.  Thank you for your post Cory.
----- I will be doing the ten game sets and posting them here as I did last season.
Here is the sets from last season.
10. 6-4
20. 7-3 = 13-7
30. 8-2 = 21-9
40. 3-7 = 24-16
50. 6-4 = 30-20
60. 7-3 = 37-23
70. 2-8 = 39-31
80. 4-6 = 43-37
90. 4-6 = 47-43
100. 7-3 = 54-46
110. 5-5 = 59-51
120. 6-4 = 65-55
130. 5-5 = 70-60
140. 5-5 = 75-65
150. 8-2 = 83-67
160. 7-3 = 90-70
Note the sets from games 61-90. We were 10-20. That is awful baseball. Still finished 91-71. With everything else staying the same if that 30 game skid could be bettered this season to just 15-15 that would mean this season could wind up 96-66. If we improve the three 5-5 sets from last season by one game that would take this season to 99-63. And if we raise the 3-7 set to 4-6 that could take this season to 100 wins.
It will be up to the players on the field producing when it matters most, but it is surely possible.-----

It is not only Cory with great posts, it is all of your posts, every single one of you from all over the world who post your comments and views here.  And all of the readers of the WIN METHOD blog from all over the world, even if you do not post.  We have surpassed 320 million views and are getting bigger and bigger every day.  Yes, we still get some stat frauds, but they are good for us and also and serve a purpose.  The stat frauds give us a guidepost and remind us of just how meaningless and useless their individual stats are.  There is no doubt to anyone here who is a WIN METHOD fan that only wins can take a team to the playoffs.  Only wins and winning as always, do now, and always will in the future, determine the best players and teams.  THANK YOU ALL WIN METHOD FANS.

Now it is just about that time where we all stand up and cheer our team for the 2018 season!

LETS GO YANKEES

Huh. Hate that. What an evil thing to say or even imply.

Tommy Lee said...

Oh my God, Yankeefan doesn't root for a team, doesn't look at stats, and just loves the game.

In his own words "I just love this game, the players, and the spirit of the game." This scares me more than him being a stat fraud.

White Knight said...

Yankeefan, but that is the thrill of the game. You don't care who wins or loses and you don't know stats. Judge being hit was the most important play of the game.

Yankeefan said...

I don’t know why everyone’s so angry.

I just love going to the game with my two sons. Watching them be amazed by the best players in the world playing the game they love.

Neil Golub said...

Yankeefan, so you teach your sons that the score doesn't make a difference and they a shouldn't root for a team. Just enjoy the thrilling play.

Vinny Ferrero said...

With Judge down, I guess Frazier gets a month to prove himself at the major league level. Hope he does. We need blue chippers.

Yankeefan said...

I’m going to teach my sons they can enjoy any aspect of a game that they choose. That they don’t have do things just because others attack you (like the other people on this blog) for not doing so. And that there are things in life more important than winning or losing a game.

Thanks for tip Neil.

Yankeefan said...

Frazier in concussion protocol.

Neil Golub said...

Yankeefan, in paid professional sports there is nothing more important than wins and winning. That is the reason the games are played and that is the only reason the games are exciting.

Yankeefan said...

Neil
Fine for you to believe that. As I’ve stated I don’t, nor does everyone.

Tony Manchu said...

I guess we can all clearly see why this is the best Yankee site in the world and so many follow it. You get all sides with everyone and anyone having their say without fear of banishment.

Neil Golub said...

Yankeefan, are you saying the professional players do not play to win and that they do not think winning is important?

Izy Hernandez said...

Yankeefan if he is for real is not right in any of his beliefs.

Al Ashton said...

Izy Hernandez, but his beliefs are his and he is entitled to them. But that is no way to live your life.

sid greenberg,nyc said...

I am in my 80's, lived all my life in NYC and have been a lifelong Yankee fan. I have been fortunate enough to have been able to go to well over a thousand Yankee games and all the ballparks in New York since the late 1940's. I have yet to meet anyone who was at a game and not rooting for one of the teams. It may be that Yankeefan is just trying to pull out leg.

RLA said...

As WIN METHOD said, cover each others back. Everyone needs to raise their game and play a little harder to overcomes Judges absence from the lineup and field. Let go Yankees.

Sharon/NC said...

CC starts tonight followed by a loaded bullpen. Waiting to see who Boone puts in the 2 hole to replace Judge. He has a lot of options.

Yankeefan said...

You guys are right, it’s much better to live life fixated on winning and losing rather than enjoying life and enjoying the experience of it all.

coryankee said...

I missed all the excitement. Was incommunicado for the day. Yankees win. Judge HBP,hurt and going to be out of action for too long a period. Gray with third good start in a row. Traded for Britton which is great and Happ which is not so great, but lets hope for the best. Have some weirdo post they go to games and don't root for anyone.

Dakarai Folami said...

Yankeefan, I think it is great for everyone to be fixed on winning and trying to be the best they can be at whatever endeavor they choose. Winning and being the best should be the goal of every person everywhere. The greatest excitement is the thrill of winning and being the best. Just going along aimlessly is for the losers.

Jeff Miller said...

Sharon/NC, I also am anxious to see who gets the 2 hole each game. Losing Judge thins the lineup, we need to get 3 or 4 hot for the next several weeks.

Erica Johnston said...

Who will the Yankees call up to replace Judge?

Carl Hooks said...

Erica Johnston, I would think Shane Robinson until Clint Frazier is ready if ever.

Gus Papa said...

Stanton, Hicks, and Gardner will be getting most of the action. Whoever else is used will be just a sub to give the others a day off here and there.

Dakarai Folami, that was a great respone to Yankeefan. You nailed it. He is going to turn his kids into snowflakes with the attitude he has. Yes, the attitude of a loser.

Steve, you have to be talking about Blake Rutherford. I have been following his progress and seen a few games in Winston-Salem.

Eddie OConnor said...

We have to take two today. Must move forward with wins.

Yankeefan2 said...

Everyone, please do not confuse or contect the posts of Yankeefan with mine. Yankeefan is a stat fraud who tried to rile folks here. He claimed to be high falutin lawyer, who doesn't use baseball stats, and goes to games and doesn't root for anyone. Yet he posts as Yankeefan.
I think Yankeefan showed just how stupid stat frauds are.

I have been posting here for about a year now and am Yankeefan2 and I do root for the Yankees and the WIN METHOD.

Interesting, Yankees facing same KC pitcher as listed last night but Boone significantly changes lineup from last night. Likely because of double header.

yankeedoodledandy said...

Wade and Robinson are in LF and RF and batting back to back. Garner and Andujar sitting out first game. Louie Louie do for a dominant outing. Torres cleanup spot. Lets have some fun today.

Steve said...

On the stat fraud forums they are going crazy and losing their collective minds at the outhfield in this afternoons game that Boone is using. But, that is why they are stat frauds.

Yankeefan, Everything you have posted has been a lie. You go to games, and do not think wins and winning are important. You use Yankeefan as a screen name but are not a fan of the Yankees. You are attacked because the consensus here thinks you are a fraud, a fake, a liar, a stat fraud, and your profession. All of these points I have just encapsulated have been mentioned by other posters, all of which you have ignored. We don't ban joke posters, we just all laugh at them.

Yankees have announced CC, Louie Louie, and Happ for first 3 games with sux. No one announced for Sunday but Tanaka could go on four days rest.

Some rain moving through, but game should not have a problem being played this afternoon.

The 25 runs scored by the Nats last night will add to a pitchers run support average anywhere between a half run to a little over one run per game depending on number of starts. Run support is just another very meaningless stat. Team run differential is also BS and meaningless. A team wins by 1 run or by 20 makes no difference. The team runs just one win, nothing more nor less. Back in 1987 I think the Twins went to and won the World Series with a negative run differential for the entire season.

jimbo said...

Stan the Man, I could write a book on the meaninglessness of individual stats and team stats. Some stats are so meaningless it is insane to hear stat frauds even mention them. Others have a definite value but are still relatively meaningless. The only stat that is 100% fool proof is wins.

Evan Donahue said...

With Walker out today Yankees are using only four lefty bats. I don't like facing a pitcher with a record like Cobb has. He has to win sometime, hope it not today.

Al Ashton said...

Just yesterday for example three teams won games and they didn't out hit their opponent.
Also yesterday the Nationals won be 21 runs yet their win has no more value than the several teams that won by just 1 run.

It seems to me the proliferation of all these formulas, most of which are utter garbage, particularly when a man created value is used in some of them, are created to try to make fans believe that the losing players are better than the winning players. Any player can leave his present team and go on the free market, earn as much as a team will pay him, and then prove he can help his team win.

Lou Moscowitz said...

God forbid that people think the winners are the best. What a joke the stat frauds are. Maybe they are just trying to make a buck and really don't believe the garbage they throw at the fans.

Grayskies is back. Thought it may be too good to be true. He is digging a big hole for his team mates to come back from.

HerecomestheJudge said...

Gray gives up a 5 spot in second and looked like he was throwing batting practice. Everything was hit hard, even the outs with a 9-2-6 DP saving his soul from more damage.

The nightmare that is Sonny Grayskies is out after 2 2/3 innings giving up 7 runs and 8 hits.

Game is in a rain delay. I have been collecting my thoughts and will share them here. After the Gary meatball Sanchez fiasco it is very disconcerting and discouraging to see the lack of hustle from Gleyber Torres in today's game on two plays in two different innings. I find no else to blame but the man in charge of what goes happens on the field. Aaron Boone. Just my opinion. I've been through a lot of Yankee managers over the decades of ups and downs, wins and losses, success and failure, but I've never seen anything like this.

Vladimir Tinzak said...

Yankees down 7-1 after three and have a very big hill to climb if they want to win this game. Their enthusiasm did not look good when they batted in the third after the rain delay.

Yanks trail 7-1 thru five.

Mark my words, ex-Yankee Blake Rutherford will have a very good MLB career while Clint Frazier will not come close to expectations.

Lynn with 4 1/3 scoreless innings of relief today and should without question take over Grayskies start in the rotation next outing which should be Monday after the sux series.

Final. Yankees lose 7-5 and embarrass themselves before heading to Boston. The game was never close despite the final score.

A very depressing game this afternoon. Running out of excuses.

It looks like 'meatball' is not missed at all. Romine is doing a fine job both offensively and defensively replacing 'meatball'.

Can we take 3 of 4 in Boston?

We shall see which Yankees show up this four game series with Boston.

To put a bow on the WIN METHOD versus stat fraud discussion. It can be shown countless times for likely every formula or stat that they are inaccurate, misleading, wrong, and therefore useless. I have yet to see or be shown by any stat fraud how wins and winning are wrong and do not show who is best.

The WIN METHOD rules the baseball world.

Steve, well stated and 100% correct.

Sadly we are in an age of snowflakes and cream puffs, but players who do not hustle every single time need to be publicly shamed and humiliated for their lack of effort. Throw in some heavy fines also. Make it part of each and everyone's contract.

Phil Jenkins said...

I try to watch baseball all the time and I hate it when I see any player on any team jog to first base. Then I get encouraged when I see so many more guys running full out on every play all the time. Any manager who accepts players not running full out is not a good manager in my opinion.

Victor Grandozi said...

Baseball is slip sliding away and is becoming sterile because of the whiners and snivelers. The good old days of high and tight pitches, sharpened spikes and taking the shortstop or second baseman out while turning a double play, barreling into the catcher on a play at the plate. Great game for a long time, now becoming a prima-donna game.

Winning tonight's game is big. It is gigantic big if the Yankees are looking to take this series. Play WIN METHOD baseball and you will do fine. Swing wildly, fail to produce when it matters most, don't play hard, and you lose. Lets go Yankees.
