This season we appear to have improved the roster in all areas. Adding Stanton, Walker, Drury, etc. will surely make this team better. Having Robertson, Kahnle, and Gray for the entire season should also improve the team. The only injury of consequence is Greg Birds bone spur, the surgery he just underwent, and him being out for about two months. As usual we will play the hand we are dealt and overcome all roadblocks and obstacles.
We have several players at AAA Scranton chomping at the bit while blooming and growing that will be heard from and make their presence felt this season. You know their names, Torres, Andujar, German, and others. This 2018 Yankee team is deep, has gained confidence and experience, and has backups close at hand.
As I started to write this post I noticed a post by Cory. I thought his post was very insightful and positive and I didn't want it to get bypassed because of being posted in a past blog, so I am reposting it right here now. Thank you for your post Cory.
----- I will be doing the ten game sets and posting them here as I did last season.
Here is the sets from last season.
10. 6-4
20. 7-3 = 13-7
30. 8-2 = 21-9
40. 3-7 = 24-16
50. 6-4 = 30-20
60. 7-3 = 37-23
70. 2-8 = 39-31
80. 4-6 = 43-37
90. 4-6 = 47-43
100. 7-3 = 54-46
110. 5-5 = 59-51
120. 6-4 = 65-55
130. 5-5 = 70-60
140. 5-5 = 75-65
150. 8-2 = 83-67
160. 7-3 = 90-70
Note the sets from games 61-90. We were 10-20. That is awful baseball. Still finished 91-71. With everything else staying the same if that 30 game skid could be bettered this season to just 15-15 that would mean this season could wind up 96-66. If we improve the three 5-5 sets from last season by one game that would take this season to 99-63. And if we raise the 3-7 set to 4-6 that could take this season to 100 wins.
It will be up to the players on the field producing when it matters most, but it is surely possible.-----
It is not only Cory with great posts, it is all of your posts, every single one of you from all over the world who post your comments and views here. And all of the readers of the WIN METHOD blog from all over the world, even if you do not post. We have surpassed 320 million views and are getting bigger and bigger every day. Yes, we still get some stat frauds, but they are good for us and also and serve a purpose. The stat frauds give us a guidepost and remind us of just how meaningless and useless their individual stats are. There is no doubt to anyone here who is a WIN METHOD fan that only wins can take a team to the playoffs. Only wins and winning as always, do now, and always will in the future, determine the best players and teams. THANK YOU ALL WIN METHOD FANS.
Now it is just about that time where we all stand up and cheer our team for the 2018 season!
LETS GO YANKEES

Huh. Hate that. What an evil thing to say or even imply.
Oh my God, Yankeefan doesn't root for a team, doesn't look at stats, and just loves the game.
In his own words "I just love this game, the players, and the spirit of the game." This scares me more than him being a stat fraud.
Yankeefan, but that is the thrill of the game. You don't care who wins or loses and you don't know stats. Judge being hit was the most important play of the game.
I don’t know why everyone’s so angry.
I just love going to the game with my two sons. Watching them be amazed by the best players in the world playing the game they love.
Yankeefan, so you teach your sons that the score doesn't make a difference and they a shouldn't root for a team. Just enjoy the thrilling play.
With Judge down, I guess Frazier gets a month to prove himself at the major league level. Hope he does. We need blue chippers.
I’m going to teach my sons they can enjoy any aspect of a game that they choose. That they don’t have do things just because others attack you (like the other people on this blog) for not doing so. And that there are things in life more important than winning or losing a game.
Thanks for tip Neil.
Frazier in concussion protocol.
Yankeefan, in paid professional sports there is nothing more important than wins and winning. That is the reason the games are played and that is the only reason the games are exciting.
Neil
Fine for you to believe that. As I’ve stated I don’t, nor does everyone.
I guess we can all clearly see why this is the best Yankee site in the world and so many follow it. You get all sides with everyone and anyone having their say without fear of banishment.
Yankeefan, are you saying the professional players do not play to win and that they do not think winning is important?
Yankeefan if he is for real is not right in any of his beliefs.
Izy Hernandez, but his beliefs are his and he is entitled to them. But that is no way to live your life.
I am in my 80's, lived all my life in NYC and have been a lifelong Yankee fan. I have been fortunate enough to have been able to go to well over a thousand Yankee games and all the ballparks in New York since the late 1940's. I have yet to meet anyone who was at a game and not rooting for one of the teams. It may be that Yankeefan is just trying to pull out leg.
As WIN METHOD said, cover each others back. Everyone needs to raise their game and play a little harder to overcomes Judges absence from the lineup and field. Let go Yankees.
CC starts tonight followed by a loaded bullpen. Waiting to see who Boone puts in the 2 hole to replace Judge. He has a lot of options.
You guys are right, it’s much better to live life fixated on winning and losing rather than enjoying life and enjoying the experience of it all.
I missed all the excitement. Was incommunicado for the day. Yankees win. Judge HBP,hurt and going to be out of action for too long a period. Gray with third good start in a row. Traded for Britton which is great and Happ which is not so great, but lets hope for the best. Have some weirdo post they go to games and don't root for anyone.
Yankeefan, I think it is great for everyone to be fixed on winning and trying to be the best they can be at whatever endeavor they choose. Winning and being the best should be the goal of every person everywhere. The greatest excitement is the thrill of winning and being the best. Just going along aimlessly is for the losers.
Sharon/NC, I also am anxious to see who gets the 2 hole each game. Losing Judge thins the lineup, we need to get 3 or 4 hot for the next several weeks.
Who will the Yankees call up to replace Judge?
Erica Johnston, I would think Shane Robinson until Clint Frazier is ready if ever.
Stanton, Hicks, and Gardner will be getting most of the action. Whoever else is used will be just a sub to give the others a day off here and there.
Friday 7/27 7:05pm
CC Sabathia (L)
vs. Royals - Brad Keller (R)
1. Brett Gardner (L) LF
2. Giancarlo Stanton (R) RF
3. Didi Gregorius (L) SS
4. Aaron Hicks (S) CF
5. Gleyber Torres (R) 2B
6. Greg Bird (L) 1B
7. Miguel Andujar (R) DH
8. Neil Walker (S) 3B
9. Austin Romine (R) C
Stanton batting second. Five left handed bats with Judge out.
The lineup has less power but more contact. Lets see how things work out over the next three plus weeks.
Dakarai Folami, that was a great respone to Yankeefan. You nailed it. He is going to turn his kids into snowflakes with the attitude he has. Yes, the attitude of a loser.
Lets go Yankees. Wins get you into the playoffs. Wins are the only stat that matter.
Rain will have an impact on tonight's game.
Deb F
What an awful comment.
I was raised the same way and I’m an equity partner in a law firm that generates over 500 million in revenue annually. I have a loving family who have been successful in every endeavor they’ve partaken in. In addition to my annual charitable contributions that are in the hundreds of thousands, I am constantly partaking in charity events and giving to my community.
I’m curious - what do you do?
Yes we are in a rain delay.
Tonight's game has been canceled, day/night doubleheader tomorrow,
Yankeefan.....I do not believe a word of your above most recent post. I think you are a fake and fraud. Why? Because of your very first post on this blog which defined you which I quote below.
"""""""" Yankeefan said...
You guys, uh, actually think yankees players are coming on here reading this stuff?
July 26, 2018 at 5:07 PM """"""""
The post of an idiot.
I guess we just have to win two tomorrow.
CC and Louie Louie tomorrow. A lot of baseball tomorrow. Get ready fans.
Why would poster "Yankeefan" use that moniker when he doesn't root for any team? I smell a fraud.
Tanaka was listed to start Sunday game but now Happ is starting instead.
It is starting to look like ex-Yankee prospect is starting to bloom and grow has he has started to tear up advanced A ball with Winston Salem. May turn out to be someone we wish we didn't let go.
Louie Louie is starting the first game at 1 PM tomorrow.
Weather has cleared out and it looks great to play two games.
Steve, you have to be talking about Blake Rutherford. I have been following his progress and seen a few games in Winston-Salem.
We have to take two today. Must move forward with wins.
Everyone, please do not confuse or contect the posts of Yankeefan with mine. Yankeefan is a stat fraud who tried to rile folks here. He claimed to be high falutin lawyer, who doesn't use baseball stats, and goes to games and doesn't root for anyone. Yet he posts as Yankeefan.
I think Yankeefan showed just how stupid stat frauds are.
I have been posting here for about a year now and am Yankeefan2 and I do root for the Yankees and the WIN METHOD.
Saturday 7/28 1:05pm
Luis Severino (R)
vs. Royals - Brad Keller (R)
1. Aaron Hicks (S) CF
2. Giancarlo Stanton (R) DH
3. Didi Gregorius (L) SS
4. Gleyber Torres (R) 2B
5. Greg Bird (L) 1B
6. Neil Walker (S) 3B
7. Austin Romine (R) C
8. Tyler Wade (L) LF
9. Shane Robinson (R) RF
Interesting, Yankees facing same KC pitcher as listed last night but Boone significantly changes lineup from last night. Likely because of double header.
Wade and Robinson are in LF and RF and batting back to back. Garner and Andujar sitting out first game. Louie Louie do for a dominant outing. Torres cleanup spot. Lets have some fun today.
On the stat fraud forums they are going crazy and losing their collective minds at the outhfield in this afternoons game that Boone is using. But, that is why they are stat frauds.
Steve, If Louie Louie pitches his game the three blind mice could be playing the Yankee outfield.
0-0 after 2.
Yanks down 2-0 thru 3 and Louie Louie is not sharp again. Something is just not quite right with him.
Yanks down 2-0 after 4.
Louie Louie implodes in fifth and leaves down 6-0 going just 4 1/3 innings. Yanks score 2 on Stantons HR and trail 6-2 after 5.
Yanks down 6-4 after 6.
Yankees score 1 in 7th to cut KC lead to 6-5 but major base running error by Torres costs Yankees at least 2 runs.
After three innings of perfect relief from Warren, Robertson pitches the eighth and give up 3 run HR killing the Yankees as KC is up 9-5.
When our "ace" stops winning and doesn't even keep us in the game, we have problems.
Final, Yankees and Louie Louie lose and are humiliated by one of the worst teams in baseball 10-5.
What a miserable outcome. We keep shooting ourselves time after time.
I am saddened but I am not giving up. And I hope this team feels the same as I do right now.
Now we have to win tonight and tomorrow night to take this series.
When you lose you create your own problems. Pressure, playing catch up, trying to hard, instead of just playing good baseball.
Saturday 7/28 7:05pm
CC Sabathia (L)
vs. Royals - Heath Fillmyer (R)
1. Brett Gardner (L) CF
2. Giancarlo Stanton (R) RF
3. Didi Gregorius (L) SS

5. Greg Bird (L) DH
6. Neil Walker (S) 1B
7. Kyle Higashioka (R) C
8. Tyler Wade (L) 2B
9. Shane Robinson (R) LF
Another chance to win today. Torres out, Punishment for rotten base running?
Yankees get two in first.
Yankees up 2-0 after 2.
Yanks up 3-1 after 2.
3-3 after 6.
Yankees score twice in 8th to take a 5-4 lead. Chapman coming in to try for the save.
Yanks up 5-4 after 8.
Final 5-4 win as Chapman earns a save.
Man o man we salvage a split and even that wasn't easy.
Happ makes his first Yankee start tomorrow with the Yankees trying to take this series.
Candycane
Why do you sporadically post the score of the game?
Can’t people find the score in real time on a number of websites if they’re interested? Doesn’t seem to add much value and clogs the blog.
Happ can win over the Yankee fans with a great effort and a win tomorrow.
Victor Grandozi, yes sir, it always comes down to wins and winning.
As we head into the final two months of the season, the drive to the pennant is in our hands. You can look at and love any stat you want, but there is only one, yes only one that defines the best players and teams in accordance to the rules of baseball defining how teams can reach the playoffs. WINS.
Announced very late last night, the Yankees have traded Shreve and Gallegos to the Cardinals for Voit and one million dollars of international trade money.
Sunday 7/29 1:05pm
J.A. Happ (L)
vs. Royals - Burch Smith (R)
1. Brett Gardner (L) LF
2. Giancarlo Stanton (R) RF
3. Didi Gregorius (L) SS
4. Aaron Hicks (S) CF
5. Gleyber Torres (R) 2B
6. Greg Bird (L) 1B
7. Miguel Andujar (R) 3B
8. Neil Walker (S) DH
9. Austin Romine (R) C
Nice well balanced lineup. Just need to produce when it counts as always.
Shreve has been replaced with Britton and with the quality of the bullpen right now Gallegos didn't have a spot. Voit is a right handed first baseman that adds a little depth to the organization at 1B.
I see Yankeefan posted again regarding why a poster posts scores. Has absolutely nothing positive to say, just comes here and show display his ignorance.
Off day tomorrow then a run of three weeks without a day off.
Win today, rest tomorrow, get our ducks in a row, and do what WIN METHOD said in his post a few days back.
Lets go Yankees.
Yankeefan, do you ask everyone who posts scores on blogs, forums, etc why they do what they do? From your few posts here you have defined yourself as a loser and liar.
Same as yesterday, Yanks score two in first.
Yanks up 2-0 after 2.
Yanks up 3-0 after 4.
Yankees lead 3-0 after 4 but it could have been 6-0 as Romine is robbed of 3 run HR by a great catch by KC right fielder.
Yankees score tack-on runs today but aren't able to drop the hammer. 5-0 after five.
Yanks up 6-1 after 6.
Happ taken out of game after six complete innings allowing one run and three hits and 96 pitches. Leading 6-1 and in line for a win.
Yanks up 6-3 after 8.
In relief Green and Robertson both give up home runs. Goes to show how important 2 or 3 add-on runs can be. It just allows some leeway for the pitchers. Every pitch is not life or death. Chapman in for the ninth and a save try.
Chapman with a very easy 1,2,3 9th for the save and a 6-3 win.
Final Yankees win 6-3. 30 games over .500. Chapman gets another save striking out the side.
Happ looked good. That is good. He'll get a start against the sux in the four game series in Boston this coming weekend.
Tanaka and Gray listed for the two game series with the O's Tuesday and Wednesday.
Candycane
I don’t go on other blogs.
Pray tell what I lies about?
Also not sure how I’m thr negative one. Deb F attacked how I raised my children and then hid in the shadows. that seems to be a new level of low if you ask me.
Yankeefan, Everything you have posted has been a lie. You go to games, and do not think wins and winning are important. You use Yankeefan as a screen name but are not a fan of the Yankees. You are attacked because the consensus here thinks you are a fraud, a fake, a liar, a stat fraud, and your profession. All of these points I have just encapsulated have been mentioned by other posters, all of which you have ignored. We don't ban joke posters, we just all laugh at them.
Yankeefan, why don't you try posting something intelligent or positive.
Hm nope, haven’t posted a single lie. Just my opinion on things.
You may not agree, but maybe you should stop being so thing skinned.
Yankeefan, again you ignore the facts that have been enumerated. If you said at a trial what you saying in your defense and a prosecutor presented all your posts you would be found guilty in a heartbeat. Why don't you take RLA's advice and earn credibility.
bigbadwolf, there are none so blind as those who will not see. Yankeefan is deaf, dumb, and blind.
RLA, you can throw in shyster also in describing Yankeefan.
Bigbadwolf
Nope sorry. You’re wrong.
Yankeefan, ROFLOL. You are very sad and delusional.
Yankeeforever
At least I don’t actually use the acronym “ROFLOL”
Are you a high school girl?
Yankeefan, you keep your streak of meaningless, useless, stupid, and ignorant posts going. I think you are now the leader of all the losers who have posted here.
Yankeefoerver, keep cool, let it go.
I would never dare to take that title from you, bigbadwolf.
In a day or two we should see how the rotation works out for the sux series.
Cory, Louie Louie needs to get back on track.
Yankeefan, ESAD
Justus Sheffield has pitched eight consecutive good games at Scranton. Slowly blooming and growing. I hope they don't throw him to the wolves to soon.
Eddie OConnor, Sheffield will likely be a September call up and see some big league action to give him a taste of the big stage and bright lights.
Haha wow bigbadwolf - quite a temper you’ve got there. Way to act cool.
Guys, Sheffield is only 21 years old. He has talent, but to be a really good pitcher there is so much to learn and that take time and experience.
Cessa is always an option as an emergency starter.
We have all read the posts of Yankeefan. He defines the stat fraud philosophy regarding baseball. Lie, cheat, steal, post anything to boost the stat fraud philosophy of fake formulas and ratings. Attack posters here and do anything to create havoc. Ignore his posts.
Never trust a stat fraud.
Great post Steve. I hope you forgive the lying, cheating, and stealing I’ve ben doing by posting on the blog.
Funny you say I attack posters where one of your mainstays suggested I die and Deb attacked my chikdren. Keep it classy here. I didn’t realize I was stealing yankeefan2 name so I’ve adjusted.
Baseballfan, Liar, liar, pants on fire. Facts kill, and you have done it to yourself.
Bigbadwolf
I’m alive and well.
Why do you tell me to “ESAD” again, or is that the more clever thing you’ve got in your arsenal and insults?
With Tanaka and Gray pitching Tuesday and Wednesday against the O's that would leave Louie Louie Thursday on four day rest. CC Friday on five days rest. Happ Saturday on five days rest and Tanaka Sunday on four days rest.
Six games this week. 3-3 would be marching in place, 4-2 would be good, 5-1 would be a big step forward, 6-0 would be the best thing since sliced bread.
I have gone back and re-read the posts by a stat fraud fake poster over the past few days. I have determined that this poster is attempting to derail and take down this thread.
I am now asking all the great WIN METHOD posters to not respond to this poster and any other posters in the future who post negative posts, posts trying to solicit personal information from other posters, and posts that are unquestionable lies.
Thank you to all of our thousand upon thousands of great contributors for your support. Let's all continue to be positive as our run to the playoffs continues.
Hear hear WIN METHOD. Love ya,
I agree with WIN METHODS post. We are bigger, better, and smarter than the stat frauds. Lets all show it.
sid greenberg, nyc, And I agree with your post, plus I would add, we are right about baseball wins and winning, and the stat frauds are wrong about fake convoluted formulas and meaningless stats.
Crush the stat fraud opinions on stats. WAR is a convoluted lie they believe in and adore.
Defensive stats are the most useless stats ever devised.
You guys sure like to talk about how smart you are.
Are you trying to convince others? Or trying to convince yourselves?
We hadn't had a stat fraud in a long time, but this last half-wit was a doozy. A real bottom feeder, but I guess he accomplished what he wanted. Never again.
No official probable pitchers for the sux series yet.
Saou Irving, Tommy Lee about 10 posts up posted a logical rotation for the sux series.
No intelligent rational baseball fan should ever accept the determination created by any man made convoluted stat, ever.
Barry West, No doubt about it.
Barry West
Just for the record, all stats used in any way are “man-made”. The game of baseball is “man-made”. Why would anything being “man-made” necessarily make it useless?
Winmethod special pick Adam Warren has been traded.
Lets not think about the Boston series until we win two with Baltimore.
No final details yet but Adam Warren has been dealt to the Mariners. The Yankees are getting more international bonus money. It looks like WIN METHOD has come up with some good international prospects and the Yankees are trying to sign them all.
Steve, it appears much of the talent is coming via the Latin market right now.
The international free agent market is booming. It is a way out of poverty for many families.
It is official, the Yankees received 1.25 million dollars in IFA money for Warren.
Also, the Yankees traded Austin and Rios to the Twins for Lance Lynn.
Cashman has been a busy little beaver.
No wonder no pitchers have been listed beyond the Orioles games, we were adjusting our staff.
Wins and winning is what baseball is all about for in the know fans. Nothing else matters.
Good job WIN METHOD fans. Keep it going.
Lets go Yankees. Lets go Yankees. Lets go Yankees.
Two game series with O's. We need to win both.
Tanaka starts tonight. I wonder if the Yankees will go with a six man rotation to try to keep the arms stronger.
Tuesday 7/31 7:05pm
Masahiro Tanaka (R)
vs. Orioles - Yefry Ramirez (R)
1. Brett Gardner (L) LF
2. Giancarlo Stanton (R) RF
3. Didi Gregorius (L) SS
4. Aaron Hicks (S) CF
5. Gleyber Torres (R) 2B
6. Greg Bird (L) 1B
7. Miguel Andujar (R) 3B
8. Neil Walker (S) DH
9. Kyle Higashioka (R) C
Steady lineup.
Lets go Yankees, keep hitting and scoring. Produce when it counts and win games.
Play as a team. Individual performance is nice, but it means nothing unless the team wins.
Why has winmethod stopped making predictions about players trades and signings since over a decade ago? Has he lost his ability??
Seems like it.
Keep going guys, everyone contributes to wins. Wins, nothing else matters except losses and losses are the opposite of wins. Losses are bad.
J.A. Happ has been sent home before tonight's game against the Orioles after contracting hand, foot and mouth disease.
Why not, something about putting on a Yankee uniform attracts weird things.
Tanaka has a long first inning throwing over 30 pitches but world his way out of self inflicted jam giving up no runs.
Torres with a big when it counts two out RBI single and a 1-0 Yankee lead.
Yanks up 1-0 after 2.
Yanks up 2-0 after 4.
Yankees drop the hammer in fifth scoring 4 times, 3 on an Andujar HR for a 6-0 lead after five.
The stat frauds are doing back flips with glee as the Nationals lead the Mets 19-0 after five, scoring bundles of meaningless runs and padding individual stats.
Tanaka finishes his night going 6 scoreless innings, but worked pretty hard throwing 105 pitches and leaves leading 6-0 with Yankees batting in 6th.
Yanks up 6-0 after 6.
coryankee, that should help the Nats meaningless run differential.
Nats now up 25-1 after 8. That affects so many stats to such a degree and defines why individual stats are so meaningless.
Ted and Corey
Is that even remotely true? How dumb and disillusioned are you?
Very I guess. Pathetic posts.
Final, Yankees win 6-3 as Chapman works a 1,2,3 ninth for the save.
Gray goes tomorrow to try for the two game series sweep.
WIN METHOD fans, tomorrow's game is at 1:00PM. Lets get another win.
Very nice team win tonight. RBI singles from Torres and Gregorius. Sac fly RBI by Greg and a 3 run HR from Andujar. Six shutout innings from stater Tanaka who did a lot of grinding. A 1,2,3 inning from Cole before he faltered in 8th. Finally 2 outs from Betances and 3 outs from Chapman for a solid team win.
Yankees have announced CC, Louie Louie, and Happ for first 3 games with sux. No one announced for Sunday but Tanaka could go on four days rest.
Some rain moving through, but game should not have a problem being played this afternoon.
Just keep winning. Finish off this two game series with a win and a sweep. Forward, win.
Wednesday 8/1 1:05pm
Sonny Gray (R)
vs. Orioles - Alex Cobb (R)
1. Brett Gardner (L) LF
2. Giancarlo Stanton (R) DH
3. Didi Gregorius (L) SS
4. Aaron Hicks (S) CF
5. Gleyber Torres (R) 2B
6. Greg Bird (L) 1B
7. Miguel Andujar (R) 3B
8. Austin Romine (R) C
9. Shane Robinson (R) RF
Walker out, Robinson in, Stanton DH.
The 25 runs scored by the Nats last night will add to a pitchers run support average anywhere between a half run to a little over one run per game depending on number of starts. Run support is just another very meaningless stat. Team run differential is also BS and meaningless. A team wins by 1 run or by 20 makes no difference. The team runs just one win, nothing more nor less. Back in 1987 I think the Twins went to and won the World Series with a negative run differential for the entire season.
Stan the Man, I could write a book on the meaninglessness of individual stats and team stats. Some stats are so meaningless it is insane to hear stat frauds even mention them. Others have a definite value but are still relatively meaningless. The only stat that is 100% fool proof is wins.
With Walker out today Yankees are using only four lefty bats. I don't like facing a pitcher with a record like Cobb has. He has to win sometime, hope it not today.
Just yesterday for example three teams won games and they didn't out hit their opponent.
Also yesterday the Nationals won be 21 runs yet their win has no more value than the several teams that won by just 1 run.
It seems to me the proliferation of all these formulas, most of which are utter garbage, particularly when a man created value is used in some of them, are created to try to make fans believe that the losing players are better than the winning players. Any player can leave his present team and go on the free market, earn as much as a team will pay him, and then prove he can help his team win.
God forbid that people think the winners are the best. What a joke the stat frauds are. Maybe they are just trying to make a buck and really don't believe the garbage they throw at the fans.
Grayskies is back. Thought it may be too good to be true. He is digging a big hole for his team mates to come back from.
Gray gives up a 5 spot in second and looked like he was throwing batting practice. Everything was hit hard, even the outs with a 9-2-6 DP saving his soul from more damage.
The nightmare that is Sonny Grayskies is out after 2 2/3 innings giving up 7 runs and 8 hits.
Game is in a rain delay. I have been collecting my thoughts and will share them here. After the Gary meatball Sanchez fiasco it is very disconcerting and discouraging to see the lack of hustle from Gleyber Torres in today's game on two plays in two different innings. I find no else to blame but the man in charge of what goes happens on the field. Aaron Boone. Just my opinion. I've been through a lot of Yankee managers over the decades of ups and downs, wins and losses, success and failure, but I've never seen anything like this.
Yankees down 7-1 after three and have a very big hill to climb if they want to win this game. Their enthusiasm did not look good when they batted in the third after the rain delay.
Yanks trail 7-1 thru five.
Mark my words, ex-Yankee Blake Rutherford will have a very good MLB career while Clint Frazier will not come close to expectations.
Lynn with 4 1/3 scoreless innings of relief today and should without question take over Grayskies start in the rotation next outing which should be Monday after the sux series.
Final. Yankees lose 7-5 and embarrass themselves before heading to Boston. The game was never close despite the final score.
A very depressing game this afternoon. Running out of excuses.
It looks like 'meatball' is not missed at all. Romine is doing a fine job both offensively and defensively replacing 'meatball'.
Can we take 3 of 4 in Boston?
We shall see which Yankees show up this four game series with Boston.
To put a bow on the WIN METHOD versus stat fraud discussion. It can be shown countless times for likely every formula or stat that they are inaccurate, misleading, wrong, and therefore useless. I have yet to see or be shown by any stat fraud how wins and winning are wrong and do not show who is best.
The WIN METHOD rules the baseball world.
Steve, well stated and 100% correct.
Steve, hear hear
Sadly we are in an age of snowflakes and cream puffs, but players who do not hustle every single time need to be publicly shamed and humiliated for their lack of effort. Throw in some heavy fines also. Make it part of each and everyone's contract.
I try to watch baseball all the time and I hate it when I see any player on any team jog to first base. Then I get encouraged when I see so many more guys running full out on every play all the time. Any manager who accepts players not running full out is not a good manager in my opinion.
Baseball is slip sliding away and is becoming sterile because of the whiners and snivelers. The good old days of high and tight pitches, sharpened spikes and taking the shortstop or second baseman out while turning a double play, barreling into the catcher on a play at the plate. Great game for a long time, now becoming a prima-donna game.

Victor Grandozi, Decades ago there were no snowflakes except in snow storm, now they are everywhere and baseball is not as great as it used to be.
Throw the new guy right into the thick of things and see what we get.
Winning tonight's game is big. It is gigantic big if the Yankees are looking to take this series. Play WIN METHOD baseball and you will do fine. Swing wildly, fail to produce when it matters most, don't play hard, and you lose. Lets go Yankees.
