WIN METHOD 2017 SEASON - INJURIES - PERSEVERANCE - BLOOM AND GROW

Hello WIN METHOD  fans.  This season, as so many youngsters bloom and grow, has had far too many downs.  To be contending for the division title with all the injuries our players and team have sustained is remarkable and displays the character of our players and team.  We will overcome no matter what is thrown at us.

The 2017 disabled list (DL) has included Gary Sanchez, Greg Bird, Tyler Austin, Starlin Castro, Didi Gregorius, Aaron Hicks, Jacoby Ellsbury, Matt Holiday, CC Sabathia, Adam Warren, Aroldis Chapman, James Kaprielian, Gleyber Torres, Clarke Schmidt, and Dustin Fowler.   Several of these players have had their season ended.   For a few of these men recovery will take many months and they can only look forward to 2018.   The others can still contribute this season.  I just want to give a special shout out to Dustin Fowler whose injury may be the most devastating.   I have had a special liking for Dustin for a long time now and I will pray for his healing, full recovery, and return to the YANKEES in 2018.

It is truly hard to believe, that with all the injuries, this team is still right in the thick of the pennant race.   The character of these WIN METHOD players is their crutch, the attitude they display when challenged with adversity is magnificent.
They play with one goal, for the TEAM to WIN.  Everyone contributes, and they win or lose as a team.   The goal is always the playoffs and beyond, in the past, now, and in the future.   These WIN METHOD men will fight to the end.

With every setback, the door of opportunity opens for another player.   Hopefully another youngster will race through the door and seize the chance before they expected.

As WIN METHOD fans, unquestionably the smartest and most knowledgeable baseball fans in the world, we support or team, ownership, management, players, and coaches.   We don't whine and cry, and we don't criticize and blame.
We leave that to, yes you guessed it, the stat fraud losers of the world.

There is most of the season left to play and we will persevere, playing the best we can.   We will continue to bloom and grow.  The draft was wonderful and the WIN METHOD got what it wanted in several draftees.   Our number one selection will be something to look forward to.  LETS GO YANKEES.

Jack Gordon...they used to fill 50 to 60-70 thousand seat ballparks. Now they build smaller parks and charge a fortune for seats and concessions. Kids used to go to 20-30 games a season, now they may get to see 1 or 2. Baseball has fallen victim to greed.

A might be piece of good news for the Yankees. The Yankees were supposed to play the Rays in Tampa on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday in Tampa, but because of hurricane Irma the games will be played in New York at Citi Field in Queens. A somewhat home game for the Yankees.

Teena/Bronx said...

Maybe the guys knowing they are coming back to NYC after the Texas series will be buoyed and wallop the Rangers.

YankeeMike said...

Well, Citi Field is an upgrade from Tropicana Dome. But it still doesn't compare to the Stadium.

Tommy Lee said...

YankeeMike, I love Yankee Stadium. It is a great park to watch a ballgame. Great atmosphere.

Sanchez is back. Pretty solid heavy hitting lineup. Lets go Yankees. Wins.

Yankees up 5-3 after 3 but Tanaka struggling.

Yanks23245 said...

Tanaka comes up putrid and can't get anyone out in the fifth inning blowing a 5-0 lead and leaves after giving up 7 runs.

Izy Hernandez said...

It's not good when one of your prime starters gets staked five early runs and he can't keep in you in the game. Yanks need to rally from two runs behind now.

Sal Mineo said...

Yanks down 7-5 after 6.

Down 7-5 after 6. We need a comeback.

Bullpen helps throw dirt on Yankee chances giving up 4 runs in 7th putting Yanks down 11-5.

Bang bang bang, goes the sound of the Yankees shooting themselves in the foot.

130. 5-5 = 70-60
140. 5-5 = 75-65
Another marching in place 5-5 ten game stretch. Two more ten game stretches left. Winning ones guarantee the playoffs. It is up to the players to perform now when it counts the most to earn the playoffs.

6. Aaron Judge (R) RF

Another solid lineup, but it makes no difference unless the players produce when it counts.

That is a great guide Cory. Quick and easy to find trends. Yankees are just 2 games over .500 for the last 40 games. That is not very good. Need to finish strong.

Yankees fall behind 1-0 after five. Louie Louie gives up his first hit of game with two out and a man on first in fifth and it's an RBI double. Yankee offense not doing anything yet.

Ninth inning winning rally post. Castro leads off with single to right. Judge ground force out. Ellsbury single to right. Men on first and third, one out. Frazier HBP. Bases loaded one out. Austin RBI single to left, 2-1 Yankees, bases still leaded. Gardner pops out. Headley RBI walk, 3-1 Yankees, bases still loaded. Sanchez ground out. Yankees lead 3-1 with Rangers coming up on ninth.

Cory said...

When it counts for today's game. 3 for 8.
Gardner fails twice.
Sanchez fails twice.
Gregorius fails once.
Headley succeeds twice.
Austin succeeds once.

Yankeeforever said...

Chapman in to try to close it out.

yankeedoodledandy said...

Chapman looked like the old Chapman today. Ball was moving and he throws strikes. 3 up 3 down with 2 Ks and a dribble grounder. 3-1 win.

will-i-am said...

Final big 3-1 win. Louie Louie doesn't get the win but he was outstanding and kept the Yankees in the game until they scored.

Mike Smith said...

We really needed this win and it looked like we weren't going to get it. If Chapman is truly back in the groove, that will be an enormous plus going forward.

Deb F said...

Cory...Gardner's failures were the worst kind. Both times man on third and less than two outs where a decent fly out or ground out could score a run and he pops up to the infield both times.

bigbadwolf said...

Remember fans, using the when it counts tenet is dependent on situations, score, inning, etc. You really have to know the WIN METHOD to use it correctly. The stat frauds do not have the intelligence nor the fortitude to be able to do this.

Smile and maybe tomorrow
You'll see the sun come shin-ing thro' for you

Before the season started many frauds and talking heads had the Yankees just about a .500 team. What fools these unknowledgeable ingrates be.

Howard Davies said...

Cory, I wonder if the stat frauds realize that your chart if done for every team will tell every fan in the world all they need to know on what and how it take to make the playoffs in baseball and be the best in the game.

Same lineup as last night. Hopefully it produces more runs than last night.

The difference last night was Chapman produced when it mattered most for the Yankees and thereby preventing the Twinkies from producing when it mattered most for them.

Chapman throws twelve pitches to get final three outs and the save.

We are in the post season. Yes we did.

This is the 5th straight series we have won. Best run of the season. Try for the sweep tomorrow.

NJYANKEE said...

The Yankees will be playing for a sweep of the series with the Twins today and Joe Girardi is maneuvering his pitching rotation so Louie Louie will start todays game.

Paul Hirschman said...

Hope Gray skies gets his act together. He has to do far better than his last outing where he buried the team.

Cal Fuerst said...

I know the Yankees have Gray for 2018 and 19 and in 2020 he becomes free. I wonder what the Yankees could get for him or do the Yankees want to hang on to him. Someone mentioned earlier that he isn't any better than what we had in Nova and Pineda. Plus he may be hindering our minor leaguers? He has stuff, but he has not impressed me. Just have to believe the guys in control know best. Would love to see him become a solid consistent starter for us.

NJYANKEE....I like Girardi resetting his rotation. The man knows what he is doing.

WIN METHOD fans. We are BLOOMING AND GROWING.

Alex Antonius said...

Girardi using almost identical lineup for all three games. Opposing pitchers are all righties.

yankeelover said...

Louie Louie has a very rough 3rd inning throwing 46 pitches and giving up 3 runs putting Yanks down 3-0.

yankeelover said...

Judge 2 run HR followed by Sanchez solo HR tie game at 3 after 3.

White Knight said...

Louie Louie doesn't come out for the fourth inning. Shreve in. Hope nothing is wrong.

Cory said...

In Louie Louie's 46 pitch inning Joe Mauer had a 13 pitch at bat, the longest of his career, and the 13 pitch at bat was the longest against the Yankees this season. One issue was that the home plate missed a called third strike on Mauer early in the at bat. Two replays showed very clearly the pitch was a strike.

jimbo said...

Yanks with a 6 run 4th capped by a Gregorius 3 run HR take 9-3 lead after 4.

This is another opportunity to show how meaningless stats are. Louie Louie goes only 3 innings but however many runs the Yankees score will be added to his run support for each of his starts. What garbage individual stats are.

Chad Copely said...

11-3 Yanks after 5. May be good game to use Betances.

Heller with shutout 7th. German with shutout 8th, and he really looked good. German stays in for 9th. German with a shutout 9th.
The Yankee bullpen pitched 6 scoreless innings and allowed just one hit.
