Hello WIN METHOD fans. This season, as so many youngsters bloom and grow, has had far too many downs. To be contending for the division title with all the injuries our players and team have sustained is remarkable and displays the character of our players and team. We will overcome no matter what is thrown at us.
The 2017 disabled list (DL) has included Gary Sanchez, Greg Bird, Tyler Austin, Starlin Castro, Didi Gregorius, Aaron Hicks, Jacoby Ellsbury, Matt Holiday, CC Sabathia, Adam Warren, Aroldis Chapman, James Kaprielian, Gleyber Torres, Clarke Schmidt, and Dustin Fowler. Several of these players have had their season ended. For a few of these men recovery will take many months and they can only look forward to 2018. The others can still contribute this season. I just want to give a special shout out to Dustin Fowler whose injury may be the most devastating. I have had a special liking for Dustin for a long time now and I will pray for his healing, full recovery, and return to the YANKEES in 2018.
It is truly hard to believe, that with all the injuries, this team is still right in the thick of the pennant race. The character of these WIN METHOD players is their crutch, the attitude they display when challenged with adversity is magnificent.
They play with one goal, for the TEAM to WIN. Everyone contributes, and they win or lose as a team. The goal is always the playoffs and beyond, in the past, now, and in the future. These WIN METHOD men will fight to the end.
With every setback, the door of opportunity opens for another player. Hopefully another youngster will race through the door and seize the chance before they expected.
As WIN METHOD fans, unquestionably the smartest and most knowledgeable baseball fans in the world, we support or team, ownership, management, players, and coaches. We don't whine and cry, and we don't criticize and blame.
We leave that to, yes you guessed it, the stat fraud losers of the world.
There is most of the season left to play and we will persevere, playing the best we can. We will continue to bloom and grow. The draft was wonderful and the WIN METHOD got what it wanted in several draftees. Our number one selection will be something to look forward to. LETS GO YANKEES.

Steve,
I took a look at some of your winstheonly method posts. I gotta say - you nailed a lot of your views on Judge and Severino and other points. You had some incorrect post for sure, but hey, no one knows everything and that's absolutely ok.
I think what probably got you banned was your combative nature. You dismissed everything you didn't agree with, and didn't really respect others posts. Honestly if you were more open to alternative opinions and responded more respectively to others, you could be a very good person to have a meaningful debate with. At 70+ years, I think you're more likely than not stuck in your ways.
I support growth and keeping an open mind. Clearly, that's not what the blog is about - and that is a fact.
Steven, your words, "I support growth and keeping an open mind. Clearly, that's not what the blog is about - and that is a fact."
Growth and an open mind. That is exactly what this blog builds open. More viewers and posters from all over the world post here. No one gets banned for posting their beliefs and not supporting some other persons beliefs. Opining beliefs should be combative, in words and mind, not physically. We do not stop posters from speaking their mind and be combative or not believing wins is what matters. Stat frauds have to ban us from their forums because they have no argument to defend against the truth and fact. For instance the stat fraud will argue to their death that a pitcher who is 8-16 with a 2.00 ERA is better than the pitcher who is 19-5 with a 4.00 ERA. They claim going forward the loser will be better because he gives up less runs. No reason to rehash all the stat fraud nonsense again, but when anyone says the loser is better than the winner it is wise to stay away from that person. WIN METHOD the originator o this blog has had more success more consistently than any other person in baseball helping his team be the best it can be.
To conclude, your words again, "I support growth and keeping an open mind. Clearly, that's not what the blog is about - and that is a fact."
Sad to say, what you claim is fact is not fact. That is proven every day.
Garcia goes today.
bigbadwolf, you are right wolfie. This is the fairest place to post that exists.
Steven, I believe that when two sides disagree strongly about an issue and post words regarding the issue, it would be combative. My pet peeve is when I discuss player defense with people and they bring in defensive metrics. Defensive metrics are totally meaningless and I don't give a darn what anyone says how good they are.
I have read in several places where people are saying the Yankees could have won the division if Girardi had done this or done that. These same people didn't give the Yankees a chance for the playoffs before the season started. Unlike maybe everyone here who thought the Yankees would make the playoffs and even more this season. The greatest Yankee/baseball forum bar none.
It seems Steven has a different opinion about the openness of this site than everyone else here. Then when there is response to his posts, he complains we aren't talking baseball.
Sorry Steven, but wins and winning have, do now, and will always determine the best in the real world.
This is an opinion I read by someone that obviously does no know baseball.
""By the numbers this team has the talent and played well enough to have had division wrapped up at the start of the week. Yes, to quote John Sterling "that's why you play the games on the field", but usually the cliche is used when underdogs go on to win. The Yankees have exceeded preseason predictions, but their record is not where it should be based on 160 games worth of data.""
Reread this sentence fans ""The Yankees have exceeded preseason predictions, but their record is not where it should be based on 160 games worth of data.""
Bingo you jerk, your 160 games worth of data is meaningless claptrap. You are an imbecile.
Eddie OConnor, You found a gem that should be shouted from every rooftop all over the world.
Saturday 9/30 1:05pm
CC Sabathia (L)
vs. Blue Jays - Marcus Stroman (R)
1. Brett Gardner (L) LF
2. Aaron Judge (R) DH
3. Gary Sanchez (R) C
4. Didi Gregorius (L) SS
5. Starlin Castro (R) 2B
6. Greg Bird (L) 1B
7. Todd Frazier (R) 3B
8. Jacoby Ellsbury (L) CF
9. Aaron Hicks (S) RF
Another top notch lineup.
Steven, you are wrong again. I posted under the name of winstheonlystat. Could you please post a post of mine that attacked a poster personally and not their opinion. Of course I did not accept nor have tolerance for their opinions, they were patently wrong. Not everyone there, but most. It looks like Bronxirish may be one of us here at WIN METHOD.
Did anyone notice CC is starting today and not Garcia, who was originally penciled in?
Domenic, I think Girardi is brilliantly setting up his rotation for the playoffs. If Yankees lose division. Tuesday wild card game is Louie Louie. Wednesday off. Thursday ALDS1 T anaka, Friday ALDS2 CC and so on.
If Yankees tie division, Monday against sux is Gray skies. If win back to Louie Louie, Tanaka, CC as posted.
Cory, I think you nailed it. And thanks for you ten game charts. It really puts the season and winning in perspective. Everything always comes back to wins.
No matter how everything shakes out, you still have to play the hand you are dealt. Wins overcomes all obstacles.
I would like the team to advance to the ALDS. I think it would be good experience for the young players to play a series where you win or go home. It is good to really find out that wins are the only thing that matters.
0-0 after 2.
Yanks up 2-0 after 4.
Yanks up 2-0 after 6.
CC with 5 2/3 innings of shutout ball. Has been really good for the team this season and seems to have found the fountain of youth. Looks like a sure rotation starter for next season after a record of 14-5 this year if the Yankees hold the lead today.
Yanks up 2-1 after 8.
Chapman in for the save try.
3 up 3 down. Yanks 2-1 win.
Final, Yanks win a one run game 2-1.
Yanks have won this series and go for a sweep tomorrow.
The sux have won their game today and have clinched the American League East title. The Yankees have finished second and will play the wild card game against the Minnesota Twins on Tuesday October 3rd at Yankee Stadium. LETS GO YANKEES.
This is the gist of the quote Eddie OConnor posted from a stat fraud on some forum.
"" The Yankees have exceeded preseason predictions, but their record is not where it should be based on 160 games worth of data. ""
Read the quote and see what I mean. The backward logic is astounding. Yankees exceeded expectations, but because the stat fraud data says so. Oh the meaninglessness of stat fraud numbers.
Lets hope for Monty to have another great outing tomorrow and close out the season with three well pitched starts.
3 PM game today. Meaningless game. More or less a workout to stay sharp.
A few days back Chris Camp posted a couple of comments and asked for view points. His comments were riddled with holes like Swiss cheese and shown to be utter nonsense and or meaningless drivel. He has not come back to post again. Maybe if before he posted he read this blog from the beginning he would have learned something and the answers to his posts.
'How about that' that is what Yankee long ago all time great broadcaster Mel Allen used to say. We have a meaningless game today. But the stats still count for the frauds and their fantasy world.
sid greenberg,nyc....I'll still watch today's game. It is far better than anything else on. I may even do a little early shopping at the mall with the 3 o'clock start.
Sunday 10/1 3:05pm
Jordan Montgomery (L)
vs. Blue Jays - Brett Anderson (L)
1. Aaron Hicks (S) CF
2. Ronald Torreyes (R) SS
3. Starlin Castro (R) 2B
4. Matt Holliday (R) DH
5. Chase Headley (S) 1B
6. Todd Frazier (R) 3B
7. Austin Romine (R) C
8. Clint Frazier (R) LF
9. Tyler Austin (R) RF
That is some lineup fitting the circumstances. The guys on the bench are going to have fun.
Is it somewhat telling or is it Girardi telling Clint something by batting him 8th in this lineup?
Don't be surprised to see at least 25+ Yankees in the box score today.
Time for a fun game.
no score thru two.
Yankees down 1-0 after 4.
Montgomery is taken out after reaching pitch/inning count going 5 1/3 great innings allowing just one run. Warren comes in for first appearance off DL.
Yanks down 1-0 after 6.
Warren face three batters and nails them all. German in now.
Holiday HR ties it a one after 7. But Romine fails when it mattered with runner on 3rd and less than 2 outs.
Final, Yanks lose 2-1. Romine costs game both offensively and defensively. But the game was meaningless.
The regular season is over. Onto the second season as one of the best teams in baseball.
91-71 final record and a playoff slot. A fine season and next year will be better.
This would be my lineup against Santana and the Twins Tuesday.
1. Gardner lf L
2. Judge dh R
3. Gregorius ss L
4. Sanchez c R
5. Bird 1b L
6. Castro 2b R
7. Ellsbury cf L
8. Hicks rf S
9. Frazier 3b R
The manager is the boss and smarter than me.
Off day and a day of preparation at the same time. This is a time where the veterans on the team display to the youngsters calm and urgency at the same time. To set the mind to the task ahead. Who will be the next Derek Jeter and step up to be the leader of the best.
Character building time. Would really like to win the wild card game and advance just to give the youngsters the experience of the biggest games when you win or go home.
Bloom and grow, bloom and grow for the future. Thank you WIN METHOD. Lets go Yankees.
Guy Padikian, thank you for those lineups during the season, plus your comments were fun and interesting.
When we play our game tomorrow, one thing, as always, will determine the winner. Producing when it counts the most will determine the winner and who advances to the ALDS. Lets go Yankees.
Will be rooting for the Yankees to win tomorrow and I think they should win. The game is not played on paper or played by meaningless stats like frauds would like to tell you. The game is played on the field by human beings doing the best they can. Who produces when it counts will determine who wins. As WIN METHOD fans all know, the best team tomorrow will win the game. To be the best, who have to win on the field. LETS GO YANKEES!
RLA, I like your lineup and you probably have the nine starters right. Who is DH and who bats where may be a little different.
RLA, I bet Judge is in RF and Ellsbury is DH. Other than that, lets roll.
Baseball at its best. 162 games to get to the playoffs with only wins determining who reaches the playoffs. Then the playoffs, round after round to get to the final two teams. To advance through each round there is only one way, with wins. Baseball, the greatest game on Earth. Lets go Yankees.
I am excited for the playoffs. I want the guys to win tomorrow and move forward and I am glad we have one of the best managers in the game leading the way. Joe Girardi is a man of character, who exudes character, and builds character in the bloom and grow youngsters.
Standard operating procedure. Get a great start from Louie Louie, and get timely hitting from the lineup when it counts carries the day. Nothing else matters.
Lets go Yankees.
The off day today only builds the tension and the expectation of a one game elimination tomorrow night. Yes we can, and yes we will. How many times has that been said by posters throughout this blog this season.
Todays the day. Playoff game tonight with the Minnesota Twins. At Yankee Stadium. 8:00PM.
Louie Louie, the biggest game of your young career. Bloom and grow. Be the man, be the winner. A win is the only thing that matters.
WIN METHOD baseball. The best there is. Lets go Yankees. Yes we can.
I go back to the great days of baseball before the dirtbag unions, huge networks controlling game times, day games when the kids could watch their heroes, etc. Now we have to wait for an 8 PM game on a foul sports network. Never the less, LETS GO YANKEES.
Six more ours before the Yankees begin their quest.
It's official, Derek Jeter's group are now the official owners of the Florida Marlins.
Tuesday 10/3 8:00pm
Luis Severino (R)
vs. Twins - Ervin Santana (R)
1. Brett Gardner (L) LF
2. Aaron Judge (R) RF
3. Gary Sanchez (R) C
4. Didi Gregorius (L) SS
5. Starlin Castro (R) 2B
6. Greg Bird (L) 1B
7. Aaron Hicks (S) CF
8. Jacoby Ellsbury (L) DH
9. Todd Frazier (R) 3B
LETS GO YANKEES!! LETS GO YANKEES!! LETS GO YANKEES!!! LETS GO YANKEES!!! LETS GO YANKEES!!!
RLA, Great job, you nailed all nine starters. I'll be watching and rooting hard from Israel.
We have our best starting and all they need to do is play WIN METHOD baseball by producing when it counts and they can carry the day.
I am hoping for an easy win and not a stomach wrenching game to the last out.
Lets get ready for some Yankee baseball. As if anyone needs to get ready, been waiting all day.
Wake up call! Louie Louie gives up lead off home run. You are in a game guys.
Louie Louie gives up 2 run HR. Down 3-0. Then single, single and Louie Louie is out of the game.
Chad Green comes in and K's two to end the inning and stranding men on 2nd and 3rd.
We need the bats tonight big time.
Louie Louie...oh no
Me gotta golf now
Season over, and next year Judge and Severino will regress. Time to sign some big free agents like Lance and Bruce and Julian.
Gonna be a long rebuild.
Didi 3 run HR ties it at 3. Atta way guys.
South Bronx Sonny Yank Fan, Low life loser alert. Low life loser alert.
3-3 after one. Take a deep breath everybody.
Green gets a 1,2,3 2nd.
Gardner HR puts Yanks up 4-3 in 2nd.
4-3 Yanks after 2.
The game is in our bullpen. Didn't want it to be there in the first inning.
Robertson in for the 3rd inning as Green falters. Looks like umpire squeezed him bad.
South Bronx Sonny Yank Fan....when you give up you lose. It ain't over till it's over.
Bird 2 out when it counts RBI single puts Yanks up 5-4.
Yanks up 5-4 thru 3.
Judge hits rocket two run HR in 4th. A laser.
Yanks up 7-4 after 4.
A slugfest. Yanks lead 7-4 after four. A long way to go.
After taking 2+ hours to play 4 innings, a quick 10 minute 5th. 7-4 Yanks thru 5.
Robertson still in for the 6th.
Hey, we can use everybody. There is no tomorrow if we lose. If we win tomorrow is an off day.
After Robertson goes 3 shutout innings, Kahnle in to get last out in 6th.
Yanks up 7-4 after 6.
Kahnle with a 1,2,3 seventh.
Hang in there guys. Yes you can.
Bottom of seventh, bases loaded, no outs, a chance to break game open.
Castro and bird both fail when it counts. Two outs and Hicks coming up.
Hicks RBI walk makes it 8-4.
8-4 Yanks after 7. Had chance to put game away, but 8-4 is better than 7-4.
Yankees lead 7-4 after seven.
Kahnle with another 1,2,3 inning. Goes 2 1/3 perfect innings.
Yanks up 8-4 after 8.
Chapman in to close it out.
Chapman puts the lights out on the Twinkies. Yanks move on to the ALDS with Cleveland.
Final 8-4 win. Theeeeeeeeee Yankeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees Winnnnnnnnnnnnn.
Girardi pulled all the right strings because the players produced when it mattered.
1-0 in the playoffs. Next.
The bullpen pitched 8 2/3 innings of one run ball and stranded two inherited runners which may have been the biggest outs of the game.
The party is just beginning. Yes we can. Lets go Yankees.
Congratulations to my team for all my life. You are the all time class of baseball.
Sleep well Yankee fans. You are the greatest.
I am so happy I came to this blog. I love the WIN METHOD.
One Yankee pitcher had a bad game last night and he is out best one. Louie Louie will get another chance during these playoffs.
A win is always good when you are on the winning side. I really enjoyed last nights win. It is great experience for the youngsters and demonstrates how a team wins with the contributions of all the players.
The WIN METHOD is the GOLD STANDARD in baseball. I have been around a very long time and have seen nothing better the WIN METHOD.
Next goal, beat the Indians, how? as a team playing together to earn wins. Can we? Yes we can.
Last night I don't think Severino threw any pitch low in the zone. He was likely to amped up and over pitched.
We wanted the bloom and growers to get playoff experience. That they did and in a big exciting way last night. Now they get to play at least three more games against one of the best teams in baseball. Play and learn, bloom and grow. Lets go Yankees.
YankeeMike, great post and so right on. I agree.
The talking heads, the stat frauds, the sportswriters, gave the Yankees little to no chance of reaching the playoffs. The WIN METHOD fans felt and knew differently. I guess the fans here are just a little bit smarter, and have a lot more knowledge than those dolts.
Wonder who Girardi will name as starting pitcher for tomorrow night in Cleveland. Could it be Louie Louie.
Very proud of what this team has accomplished this season. Lets go Yankees.
This was posted on April 1, 2017 and is the last paragraph of WIN METHODs blog. The entire blog was so great, but here is the last paragraph.
""""""Now, as the 2017 season begins, we are looking for a winning season, the playoffs and beyond, as the team keeps getting better and more youngster keep getting better and becoming good enough to make the big league team. Thank you, to all you fans from all over the world, baseballs brightest and most knowledgeable. Lets all get ready for a great season. LETS GO YANKEES."""""
""Looking for a winning season, the playoffs and beyond, as the team keeps getting better.""
He nailed it and we are exactly where we were wanted to be.
Raul>>>That's exactly why we are here. The best in baseball is here.
Gray has been named for game one and CC for game two in Cleveland.
Win or lose Girardi has a plan. If our guys produce we win.
Lets just do it. We have the ability to break barriers.
Tonight ALDS game one in Cleveland. Yes we can.
Can only hope that Gray steps up to the challenge and pitches a great game. Hopefully we can get to Bauer when it counts and score a bunch of runs. If Gray pitches the way he has since coming to the Yankees we will need many runs to counteract his poor pitching. This is Grays chance on the biggest stage and the brightest lights. Louie Louie couldn't handle the pressure his first time out. Gray is older and has more experience, hope he leads the way to a win.
Carl Hooks, Sometimes there are players who can't step up. Hope Louie Louie is not one of them. Rooting for Gray to pitch great tonight because he is now a Yankee and as a Yankee everyone needs to help the team succeed and win.
As of now future rotation Tanaka game three and if needed Louie Louie game four.
For starting pitchers, then need to match the opposing starting pitcher within a run or maybe two at the most. The hitters need to produce enough runs to win. Every game is a team effort.
I think it is quite possible tonight's lineup is the same as the wild card lineup. If we can only get the same output or better.
Thursday 10/5 7:30pm
Sonny Gray (R)
@ Indians - Trevor Bauer (R)
1. Brett Gardner (L) LF
2. Aaron Judge (R) RF
3. Gary Sanchez (R) C
4. Didi Gregorius (L) SS
5. Starlin Castro (R) 2B
6. Greg Bird (L) 1B
7. Todd Frazier (R) 3B
8. Chase Headley (S) DH
9. Aaron Hicks (S) CF
Almost the same Izy. Headley in at DH for Ellsbury and Frazier/Headley flip-flopped.
Everybody hits tonight. Lets go Yankees. Yes we can.
I would to win game one.
Slowly we wait until game time. Lets go Yankees.
Every pitch, every at bat, every play, every inning is a must see. Baseball at its best.
Sonny Gray, the ball is in your hands. You have something to prove. Yes you can because we can. Lets go Yankees.
Gray loads the bases with none out but allows just one run in 2nd.
Yanks down 1-0 thru two.
It looks like many of you fans called it. Gray skies is nothing special and several of our minor leaguers could do exactly what he is doing and may even do better. With his contract it is likely the team is stuck with him. He may be OK as a fifth starter next season. Hopefully a bloom and grower or two can crack the rotation.
Gray yanked after 3 1/3 behind 3-0 and two runners on which are his responsibility. No bueno.
Warren in. Warren closes the inning without further damage.
Yanks down 3-0 after 4.
******************** Mark my words, the Yankees will rue the day they traded for Gray. More than likely Mateo, Fowler, and Kaprielian will be major league players. Which means the trade for Gray was a bad one. If one or two become pretty good players that will make the trade worse. If any become a star that will make the trade a disaster. *******************
The Yankees are hitless after five innings.
Yankees down 4-0 after 5. Garcia in.
You can't win unless you score and we haven't scored thru eight innings.
Betances pitching the 8th.
Betances K's the side with no pressure down 4-0 after 8.
Final 4-0 loss. Maybe Girardi figured we may not score tonight against Bauer so he threw our worst starter out there in Gray skies. Just three hits, two by Castro.
Try again tomorrow with CC. Another loss and we come home in a very deep hole.
From the frying pan into the fire tonight. Can the bats awaken.
If the Yankee bats are asleep again tonight the team will find it hard to win and be in big trouble.
Yankeeforever....I agree with your post. Gray is just another pitcher and nothing special. He has not helped the Yankees one iota. If anything, he has hurt the team.
Friday 10/6 5:00pm
CC Sabathia (L)
@ Indians - Corey Kluber (R)
1. Brett Gardner (L) LF
2. Aaron Judge (R) RF
3. Gary Sanchez (R) C
4. Didi Gregorius (L) SS
5. Starlin Castro (R) 2B
6. Greg Bird (L) 1B
7. Aaron Hicks (S) CF
8. Jacoby Ellsbury (L) DH
9. Todd Frazier (R) 3B
Same lineup as wild card game. Could really use the same results.
I think if we win today we will win this series.
Game time, first pitch, we need a win, lets go Yankees.
Yanks get 2 in first on Sanchez HR.
CC gives the 2 runs right back in the bottom of the 1st. 2-2
Yankees down 3-2 after 2.
Castro RBI single and Hicks 3 run HR when it counts knock Kluber out of game and give Yanks 6-3 lead in the 3rd. Long long way to go.
Yanks take 6-3 lead in 3rd. Hicks with 3 run home run the big hit.
CC comes back with a clean inning, first of the game. Yanks up 6-3 after 3.
Yanks up 6-3 after 4.
Bird two run Ballantine blast gives Yankees 8-3 lead in fifth.
Sabathia finishes the 5th with 11 consecutive outs and 8-3 lead.
Green gives up grand slam in 6th. Yanks up 8-7. Oh my.
Why wasn't hit batter call challenged. Replay was without doubt, ball hit bat for foul tip K and inning over.
It ain't over. 8-7 Yanks thru 6.
Robertson 1,2,3 7th. Still up 8-7 after 7.
Robertson gives up lead off HR in 8th. 8-8.
Never would I have thought if we scored 8 runs we would be in a nail biter.
8-8 after 8.
Yankees don't score in ninth.
Chapman in for the 9th.
There is no other sport that has this much intensity game after game, batter after batter, pitch after pitch.
On to the tenth.
8-8 after 9.
Come on guys, lets do it, lets go Yankees.
To the eleventh.
After Frazier leads off 11th with single and gets to 2nd on error. Torreyes runs for him and makes blunder of season by getting picked off.
Yanks do not score in 11th.
We go to the 12th. Betances pitched a 1,2,3 11th.
8-8 thru 11. To the 12th.
Yankees go down 1,2,3 in 12th.
Betances with another 1,2,3 inning. To the 13th.
Yankees quickly do nothing in 13th 1,2,3.
Yanks lose 9-8 in 13.
Another tough one run loss. Down two games to none and need to win next three or go home for the winter.
Final 9-8 loss in 13. We can play with anyone. Just need a little more seasoning which we are getting.
Nice try but no cigar.
Whoever is out replay guy needs to be fired.
We blew it.
We come home and win three games and the season goes on. Yes we can.
Tough game to lose. We blew challenge play. Someone has to take the blame.
Tanaka Sunday.
Nightmare, can't sleep.
Deb F, I had a bad night also. Just got up. Very sad. Keep the faith. Yes we can.
