THE 2026 BASEBALL SEASON -- 162 GAMES TO PLAYOFFS
Here we are 23 games into the 2026 season with a 14-9 record. At this point I feel very comfortable in saying the Yankees will make the playoffs, and win the AL East division. The YANKEE win total for the regular season should be about 101 wins. I broke the season into thirds, with 54 games in each third. Because the YANKEE starting pitching is just getting better and better with disabled list pitchers returning. Cole and Rodon will be back very soon, and I am not counting on Schmidt at this point in time. I am also looking forward for Volpe's return, returning as an improved hitter and fielder. Watch and see for yourself.
Now let me break down the three 54 game thirds into actual win/loss numbers. Remember WIN METHOD fans, wins are the only number in baseball that determines the best players and teams. Frist third, I went with a low 27-27 record. For the middle third, with Cole and Rodon's return, with Fried, Schlittler, Warren, Gil, and Weathers available, look for the bullpen being better also, with Cruz, Bednar, Headrick, and Hill being the top holdovers. I am not even mentioning Schmidt's return. Middle third record 36-18. Then we come to the final third of games. With the strength of the roster and the strength of the YANKEE minor leaguers, look for the YANKEES to make deals, if needed, to upgrade the lineup. The final third is the race to the finish line and the playoffs. Record 38-16. That will make for a 101-61 won/loss record. Not to shabby.

Observations after three innings. Score tied 2-2. Cole struggling, not sharp, throwing too many pitches. Volpe cooked, can't hit and fielding slipping again.
Yankee production when it matters most, abysmal over first four innings.
Cole out after just four innings in a very poor start. Leaves with 2-2 tie.

Jazz 8th inning homer for a 3-2 lead. Can bullpen hold it?

Final. Yankees win 8-4. Rodon went six innings allowing 3 runs and earned the win. Headrick worked a scoreless 7th. Yarbrough went the 8th and 9th allowing 1 run. Eight of the nine Yankee starters got hits, only catcher Sanchez did not, but he did record a walk. Rbi's from Chisholm 3, Caballeros 2, Volpe 1, and Goldschmidt 1, 1 runs scoring on an Indian error. Indians took 2 of 3, 10-12 days ago at the Stadium, Yanks sweep the Indians in Cleveland. Off day tomorrow.
Next up, a three game weekend series in Toronto. Weathers, Schlittler, Warren.

Democrats voted against the amendment to attach the SAVE America Act to the immigration bill, and they were joined by four Republican senators: Susan Collins of Maine, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, Mitch McConnell of Kentucky and Thom Tillis of North Carolina. The four Republicans had previously joined Democrats to block a version of the SAVE America Act in April.

Final. Yankees win 3-1. Dominguez solo HR and Goldschmidt ninth inning game winning HR the Yankee runs. Schlittler goes seven innings allowing the only Blue Jay run on a solo HR. Cruz struggled through a scoreless 8th leaving the bases loaded as he walked three batters and earned the win. Bednar made up for Cruz with a no drama 1, 2, 3 strikeout 9th for the save.
Yankees produced when it mattered most and the Blue Jays failed when it mattered most this afternoon allowing the Yankees to win 3-1 and even the series at one game for each team. Rubber game tomorrow.
A win like todays just balances the books when Yanks lose the same way.

But he was in trouble every inning, was hit very hard giving up seven hits and several outs were very hard hit and if they had fallen in the game could have been a different story. The bullpen went the last four innings, with Headrck perfect, and Blackburn and Bird each allowing a run. Offensively, for the second straight night every Yankee starter got a hit. Final. Yankees lose 5-1. Yankee offense played a very lack luster game. McMahon HR only Yankee run. Weathers deserved better going 6 1/3 innings allowing only a solo HR. Bullpen crashed and burned. Cruz takes the loss but it was not all his fault. Hill came in with a man on second and and hit the first two batters he faced to load bases with no outs. Stuck out a batter and was replaced with Doval who promptly gave up a grand slam on first pitch he threw and that was that. Ugly loss.

Cruz, Headrick, and Bednar got the final 3 2/3 innings flawlessly with Cruz and Headrick earning a saves and Bednar a perfect 4 out save. Losing streak over, play for the series win tomorrow. Caballero rbi ground out, Chisholm 2 run HR, Wells rbi double for Yankee runs.
Needed this win. It wasn't easy. Produced just enough when it mattered most, the Tigers didn't. That is WIN METHOD baseball.

Final. Yankees win 4-2. A big win. Weathers went six good innings and got some big outs when it mattered most earning the win. Yankee bullpen for the second night in a row went final three inning putting up goose eggs. Doval 2/3 inning and a hold, Cruz 1 1/3 innings for a hold, and Bednar 1 inning for another save. Yankees beat Skubal with the long ball. Two solo HRs by Goldschmidt and the game winning 2 run HR by Dominguez. Yankees take series from Tigers.
Nice road series win in Detroit. No let down guys. Four game long weekend series in Boston with the sux starting tomorrow.

The WIN METHOD has taught me to never assume or take a game for granted. Therefor, if Schlittler pitches his game the Yankees could win, but only if the offense and defense contributes what is needed when it matters most. Lets go Yankees!

Final. Yankees lose 6-3. In what may be their worst game this season committing four errors, the Yankees embarrassed themselves. More than the four errors, the misplays, not turning double plays, brain farts, etc. Just plain bad baseball. Schlittler takes the loss.

Need a win tonight after last night's horrid loss. Defense was a disgrace last night. Do not want to go down two games in a four game series.
Oh my, Yanks trail 2-0 thru second inning.
Yanks down 4-0 thru four innings and 12 Yankee batters with 12 outs and nothing even resembling a good at bat. To put in a word the Yankee at bats have been pathetic.
Well, the Yankee defense was no problem tonight, but Warren was very bad giving up runs in the first three innings and five for his six innings of work. He earned the loss. The ugly, was the Yankee lineup again. Three hits for the entire game and just one run scored for a 6-1 drubbing. Lose first two games of this four game series.
Final. Yankees lose 6-1. Never in it, got only 3 hits and an 8th inning run. Warren gave up 5 runs most very early in game and gets the loss. Nothing from the offense. Now must win next two games just to leave Boston with a split of the series.

The "ace' of the Yankee staff starts this afternoon in Boston. He will try to stop the Yankee losing streak against the sux. The team needs to get their act together and play WIN METHOD baseball and kick some sux ass.

Two innings done. Cole gives up a HR in each inning. Yankee bats dead in the water. Down 2-0. Long way to go.
Yanks down 2-0 after 2.
Cole doesn't allow a HR in third but allows 2 more runs on several hard-hit hits.
Final. Yankees lose 4-1. Lose third game of four game series with another sad performance from the lineup. Schuermann HR only Yankee run. Cole gave up all four runs and takes the loss. Something is not right.
Another Yankee loss 4-1. Cole struggled and gets the loss. Lineup again down the tubes.
Rodon starts tomorrow to try to prevent a sux sweep. It ain't going to happen unless the lineup put some crooked numbers on the scoreboard.

Final. Yankees lose 5-4 in ten innings. Down 2-0 after 8 innings and not having a runner in scoring position and only 2 hits in those 8 innings, the Yankees rallied for 2 runs in the 9th to send the game into extra innings. Then the Yankees score twice in the 10th for a 4-2 lead. The the guillotine fell as the Yankees gave up 3 runs in the bottom of the 10th to get swept in the four game series by the bosux. One heck of a horrid weekend no matter how you look at it. Just remember WIN METHOD fans, adversity makes you stronger and better.
If the NBC network has the inability to plan for two major sporting events from overlapping each other then they should be banned from televising sporting events. NBC as a network is pathetic as a network, prejudiced as a network, and should lose their right as a network.
Another horrid loss. My concern is why did Boone not let their best reliever pitch the 10th inning after an easy 9th inning. Boone may be a very nice person, and he is the one makes the decisions all losing decisions will be second guessed. However, I believed his decision to not pitch Bednar in the 10th was wrong and said so immediately, that is first guessing.

HAPPY 250TH BIRTHDAY AMERICA --- you have come a long way and accomplished more than any other country in history.
One thing I have learned from the WIN METHOD is positive thinking. If you think negatively you are done. The YANKEES who are a really good team just lost four straight games to the worst team in their division. That alone tells how strong the division is. Remember the WIN METHOD tenet, when you are playing your best, you are not that good, and when you are playing your worse, you are not that bad. Thus, everyone, take a chill pill.
Weather is out after 1 2/3 innings. Faced 14 batters, gave up 7 hits and 5 runs. It looks like Yanks haven't hit bottom yet.

Final. Yankees lose 7-3. Another poor effort from the Yankee offense. Only scored their 3 runs on a 3 run HR by Rosario late in the game after being down 7-0 after four innings. Weathers with a horrendous outing giving up 5 runs in less than 2 innings.

Yankees fall again 6-2 in 11 innings. Volpe with biggest fail of game in 10th, with a man on third and one out, Volpe does not put ball in play and strikes out.
Final. Yankees lose 6-2 in eleven innings. Doval a total failure take the loss.

• Returned OF Trent Grisham (#12) from his rehab assignment and reinstated him from the 10-day injured list.
• Placed LHP Carlos Rodón on the 15-day injured list (retroactive to 6/30) with left elbow inflammation.
• Optioned INF/OF Oswaldo Cabrera to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
But yet, Camilo Doval, the biggest piece of garbage is still on the roster.
