WIN METHOD --- 2023 SEASON -- FINAL RUN TO THE PLAYOFFS WHERE ONLY THE BEST TEAMS AND BEST PLAYERS PLAY

Less than half the season to play.  So much to be decided.   Many teams vying for playoff positions in each league.  Three divisions in each league, each division winner makes the playoffs and then the next three teams with the best win/loss records also make the playoffs.  Only WINS determines which teams go to the playoffs.  WINS are the only statistic which determines the best teams and the best players.

The YANKEES are one of the teams in the chase at this point in the season.  The YANKEES, the team with the most player time lost to injuries, by a very large margin, over any other team in MLB.  No question, every team has player injuries and loses players for periods of time, but no other team has had as many players injured and missed games as the YANKEES.

What are the YANKEE chances of making the playoffs with about seventy games yet to play?  We will find out over the two and a half months.  If some of the key injured players can return and contribute, that would make a difference. As with every team, it will be determined only by WINS.  I believe if the YANKEES make the playoffs, will have a very good chance at advancing through the playoffs and winning the WORLD SERIES.   I bet none of the teams vying for the playoffs are giving up, the players on those teams are not giving up, and the WIN METHOD YANKEE fans are not giving up, because when you give up, you give yourself no chance at all.  It has been said many times, by many posters, the YANKEES will play over, under, around and thru any and all obstacles and roadblocks thrown in front of them.

It has been great to see YANKEE STADIUM filled with fans each game during this season, games have always been pretty nor turned out well for YANKEE fans and more so for the team.  Don't give up, with enough WINS the YANKEES can still make the playoffs.  If they do. watch out for them in the playoffs.  Stay positive and say it often LETS GO YANKEES.

I would like to express by sincere thanks for all you fans who read and post here on the WIN METHOD blog.  You all have made it the greatest forum, blog, or site for YANKEE fans in the world.  In just several days this blog will reach over one billion six hundred million views. Thank you all for being the greatest fans and most knowledgeable fans in the world.

WIN METHOD, thanks. "Never give up" by Jim Valvano. If you are not positive, you are negative. Lets go Yankees.

WIN METHOD, good to hear from you. Love ya,

Glen Corbet said...

If Judge is not back soon, it will be a tough road ahead.

Xavier Young said...

Glen Corbet, you are likely correct, but if Rodon and Cortes produce from here onwards that would help. Then there is always the player acquisition as a possibility.

All any team can do is play with what they have and do the best they can. First step is the 162 game season and getting to the playoffs. Second step is getting to the world series. Third step is winning the world series. Only 12 of 30 teams get to the playoffs and only 2 of the 12 get to the world series. In the end, the best team and players win the world series.

You never know, maybe the Yanks will get some happenings that go their way for the rest of the season.

Cody Hoefert said...

WIN METHOD, is your ability to find 'WIN METHOD' players failing, are you failing? What blame do you take in the Yankee failures for over a decade?

Larry Kennedy said...

Do we have a stat fraud visitor?

WIN METHOD said...

Cody Hoefert, You asked three questions and the answer to each question is no. Finding qualified WIN METHOD players is reasonably easy for me, since I have been doing it several decades. 'Blame' is a nefarious word. While some people look for someone to 'blame', may only be a change in decision, a shift in operational goals or as simple as outlook. With the WIN METHOD system I developed after talking to countless baseball people in every facet of baseball, particularly players, I found a method that evaluates a players desire, character, goals, and aptitude regarding playing baseball.

After Mr, S passed away (George Steinbrenner), the Yankees underwent a change in baseball philosophy, that, in my opinion hurt the Yankees competitively. The YANKEES remain a top team, one of the best teams, however, as of today they have not shown to be one of the best of the best teams.

WIN METHOD, good post. That is pretty much what I thought, along with the constant wrath of severe injuries.

Finally announced. Yankee starters in Colorado for weekend series. Rodon, Schmidt, Cole.

HerecomestheJudge said...

How about this....if Judge, Rodon, and Cortes are all in the lineup in the first week of August, the Yankees will make the playoffs and could win the division.

Tony Manchu said...

WIN METHOD rules, those who object are fools.

I do not accept WIN METHODS reply to my questions. I do not believe him.

Cody Hoefert, I don't care what you think, believe, or post. You do not have to accept the WIN METHOD. See ya.

Back to baseball and the final run to the playoffs. The Yankees need to step up their game. It is not how hard you hit the ball, it is hitting the ball where the defense ain't. A combination of small and long ball when it matters most will carry the day. Three game series in Colorado starts Yankees final run.

candycane said...

Yanks down 3-2 after 3.

Xavier Young said...

Five ciomplete. Rodon goes five innings and leaves trailing 4-2. 88 pitches. One lousy inning.

will-i-am said...

Final. Yankees lose 7-2. Yankees score two runs by their first two batters of the game. Torres single and Stanton home run. Twenty-seven out later that is the only runs to put on the board. Rodon goes five innings and allows 4 runs for the loss. King two innings giving up 2 runs and Abreu one inning allowing 1 run. As bad a start to the final run to the playoffs as there could be.

Sadly disappointing to say the least.

Re tonight's lineup.

.147 cleanup batter. How embarrassing, especially this late in the season.

The thing is I honestly wonder if Cashman or Hal are embarrassed? Hal doesn't know baseball, and Cashman is delusional. No wonder the WIN METHOD isn't getting any traction.

Hoyle said...

When a manager adheres to a decision over and over, and the decision fails over and over, there is something not right in Denmark.

Yanks23245 said...

Yankees score first again, Torres triple, Stanton RBI ground out. Then Schmidt HBP first batter, two ground outs move the runner to third base, but Schmidt balks the run in. What is wrong with these guys.

Steve(winstheonlystat) said...

Yankees with a 5 run second inning, Higgy sac fly, Torres rbi single, Stanton 3 run HR for a 6-1 lead.

candycane said...

Yanks up 6-1 after 4.

will-i-am said...

Final. Yankees win 6-3. Schmidt goes six innings and gives up 2 runs. Peralta a scoreless seventh. Kahnle allows 1 run in the eighth, and Holmes a scoreless ninth and earns the save. Yankees scored 1 run in the first and 5 in the second and no more for the rest of the night. Big hit of game Stanton 3 run HR in second inning. Yankees will play for the series win tomorrow with Cole starting.

Jimmy Thames said...

Schmidt looked good tonight. Having a 5 run lead in the 2nd inning has to help somewhat.

Billy Tedder said...

Yankees may have caught a break tonight. Donaldson after his 4th 0-4 at bat hobbled off the field.

yankeeclipper said...

Good news on Donaldson. Re-injured right calf and headed to the DL. If he ever plays another game in a Yankee uniform that would be a travesty. Let him go, let him go.

White Knight said...

Peraza called up from AAA. The Yankee have just improved their lineup and team and it took an injury to do it, and sadly not an organizational decision that 90+% of Yankee fans already knew. Good-bye forever Josh Donaldson, let it be, let it be.

johnny said...

Lets go Yankees.

will-i-am said...

Todays Yankee lineup.

Gerrit Cole (R)

1. Gleyber Torres (R) 2B
2. Giancarlo Stanton (R) DH
3. Anthony Rizzo (L) 1B
4. DJ LeMahieu (R) 3B
5. Harrison Bader (R) CF
6. Isiah Kiner-Falefa (R) LF
7. Anthony Volpe (R) SS
8. Oswaldo Cabrera (S) RF
9. Jose Trevino (R) C

Donaldson not in lineup, placed on DL. Lineup better no matter who replace Donaldson.. Sadly, it took and injury to get him out of the lineup and not an intelligent decision by the manager. Lets go Yankees.

Yankeeforever said...

Finally, 3 run 6th inning gives Yankees 3-1 lead mid 6th.

Stan the Man said...

Kahnle and Holmes blow Yankee 3-1 lead in bottom of eighth as Kahnle loads the bases and Holmes gives up a grand slam and the Yankees are down 5-3.

yankeeclipper said...

Yankees score 2 in the 9th to tie game 5-5.

Stan the Man said...

5-5 after nine. Little league baseball time.

Hobbs said...

No score in 10th, on to the 11th.

White Knight said...

Cabrera and Peraza both with rbi singles in 11th for 7-5 lead. Peraza has just done more in one game than Donaldson did for the entire season when it mattered most. Now to hold the lead? and win the game?

White Knight said...

Never mind. Ramirez gives up 2 run HR to first batter. Game tied 7-7. Marinaccio in with 2 outs an no one on and gives up HR to first batter. Yankees lose 8-7. Boone loses another as every pitching move he made failed.

Yanks23245 said...

What a disaster, nightmare, disappointment, failure all in one today's game was.

will-i-am said...

Took time out to cool off. Final. Yankees lose 8-7 in eleven innings. A tragic loss, one of many this season. In my opinion, one heck of a case of managerial dysfuction. I know the game is decided on the field by the performance of the players, but the manager has sole discretion
on what players he wants on the field at any point in the game, predominantly pitchers. Boone's pitching decisions confound me. Everything was fine for 7 2/3 innings, but with 2 outs in the 8th inning his decisions, lets be kind, were not based on sense. The result was a loss. Read about it and you decide for yourselves.

Ziggy Mann said...

Well that sucked. πŸ‘Ώ

muchomachoman said...

Perhaps or maybe could it be Boone’s uncanny handling of the pitching staff coupled with Cashman’s brutally bad roster.

Quigley said...

Why bring in Ramirez when you had Marinaccio? He has been effective all year against both lefty and righty batters. I mean that has to be Boone’s last game. His managing was comical.

YankeeMike said...

Today's Yankee game is a game that will live in infamy. Yankee fans will not forget.

Tommy Lee said...

Not a good way to start the final run. Losing a series to a losing team. Each loss makes the playoffs further away.

jimbo said...

Next up, three games with the Angels in Anaheim. Louie Louie, German, and Rodon.

This afternoon's game was a downer for me in many ways.

Cory said...

Another first for the Yankees today, and yes, another negative.

Today's game was the 1st loss in Yankees history where they had multiple leads of 2+ runs in the 8th inning or later. We were there and we suffered thru it.

Vlad Kotenko said...

Yesterday is history, today starts the future. Move forward. Would a new manager help? Would a new GM help? Would a new owner help?

Yankeefan2 said...

I hope to see Peraza's name in the lineup at least four out of every five games. If Boone was dumb enough to play Donaldson every chance he got, then he should be smarter enough to play Peraza.

Guy Padikian said...

Todays Yankee lineup.

Luis Severino R

Oswald Peraza (R) 3B
Giancarlo Stanton (R) DH
Gleyber Torres (R) 2B
Anthony Rizzo (L) 1B
Harrison Bader (R) CF
Anthony Volpe (R) SS
Isiah Kiner-Falefa (R) LF
Oswaldo Cabrera (S) RF
Jose Trevino (R) C

Peraza is very good, but we lose LeMahieu. Can't complain, Torres has been hot. Could have given Volpe off, Peraza a SS and Lemahie 3B. That should be an option down the road.

Eddie OConnor said...

Can only hope I never see the Donaldson name in the Yankee lineup ever again.

Ziggy Mann said...

Zip zip thru three.

yankeeclipper said...

Cabrera when it matters most, two out bases loaded 2 rbi ground rule double for first runs of game in sixth inning and a 2-0 Yankeed lead.

Lou Lis said...

Louie Louie comes out for the sixth inning, and in my opinion he has very little left in the tank after how he had to pitch the fifth inning under extreme pressure. Finishes the inning but does give up a HR. 2-1 Yankees.

Tony Manchu said...

Seventh inning, Peraza lead off walk, steals second, goes to third on wild pitch, scores on sacfly to give Yankees back a 2 run lead at 3-1. King pitches the bottom on seventh and gives up 2 run home run for a 3-3 tie. Deja vu all over again.

Stan the Man said...

Extra innings tied at 3.

will-i-am said...

Final. Yankees lose 4-3 in ten innings. Repeat of yesterday. Bullpen blows another one. Bright spot, Peraza came to bat five times, walked four times and a single. Reached base five times. I don't believe Donaldson reached base that many times in any series he played in. Ramirez takes the loss. Louie Louie went six innings giving up just one run.

Domenic said...

It just keeps getting worse each game.

YankeeMike said...

Wouldn't it be funny it the Yankees have the last laugh this season and win the World Series!

Nick Polito said...

Two little league extra inning losses in a row. Lose a game on a run scored by a runner placed on base that didn't earn getting on base. In reality MLB has committed blasphemy. The older baseball fans are slowly dying off and the game is now played for young and dumb.

JOE BIDEN IS A CORUPT OLD FOOL

Story by Brandon Weichert July 22, 2023

Joe Biden’s Fingerprints All Over Hunter’s Schemes - Joe Biden epitomizes everything that is wrong with America’s political class.

A low-brow, gladhanding—and creepily neck massaging—politico who spent his entire career climbing the ladder and greasing the skids to ascend to the top of the upside-down kingdom.

He’s got a blistering white smile, bushy hair plugs, he speaks in nonsensical bromides, but he’s as corrupt as one of the villainous mayors of The Batman comic books.

Point in fact, Joe Biden is the kind of politician that prompted the brilliant billionaire, Donald J. Trump, to run for president in the first place—which is exactly what Trump said to Biden during one of their more contentious debates in 2020. Unfortunately, the American people believed the Trump conspiracy lies from the DOJ and FBI, who are Biden's coconspirators.

Nathan Riley said...

Yet some people are also corrupt, so they think nothing of voting for corruption. Then there are also the bought and paid for unions that are part and parcel showing the way to destroy American morality and work ethic.

5-2 looks like a nice win, but it was 3-2 until Stanton finally ran into one for the 2 run homer. It was on an 0-2 pitch and the pitcher made a huge blunder. Then the Royals did bring the tying run to bat in the ninth. In other words, the win was tougher and closer than the score would indicate.

Final. Yankees lose 9-3. German takes the loss, giving up 6 runs in six innings, Yankees scored late in the game and were shut down completely as Mets built their lead. Rodon starts tomorrow for Yankees who need the win to split this series. Rodon will be trying for his first win with the Yankees.

Verlander will go down in history as one of the best pitchers in MLB, if he isn't already considered as such now.

Rodon on the Yankee fans hot seat tonight. He needs to win over the fans, pitch and 'ace' game and hopefully the Yanks will win. This is what the pressure of playing in nyc is about. Some can hack it, some can't.

I get new from many sources, and decide what makes the most sense. I can easily detect baloney and statements made my talking heads. Being a registered democrat . I don't vote for someone just because they have a 'D' next to their name. I can't vote for Biden because he and his family are in deep scandal according to actual evidence.
Biden also shows major signs of cognitive disability. I also do not like the preferential treatment he and Hunter are receiving from the DOJ, FBI, and IRS.
Biden's cognitive ability is a concern. Thus, the importance of his VP is critical. Biden's VP is most inarticulate, unqualified, race-baiting, leftwing liberal politician in history. She had the nerve make her 9/11 speech a racial lecture. She has only one card in her deck, the race card. Her recent trip to Florida to complain about one line out of hundreds of pages of a report written by highly educated and supported by other highly black men who supported the entire writing is laughable. She, since being named the Border Czar, has done nothing to help the border issue, and in fact made it worse. She and Biden condemned border patrolmen for whipping illegal immigrants, when it never occurred. Just another extension of their 'defund the police' policies. They have flamed disrespect and hatred for the police, as is evidenced by the increase of all crime across our country. Unfortunately, respect for police may never be able to be restored.
Without law and order, everything else crumbles. The summer of 2020 riots, which were not condemned by democrat leaders and the leftwing media, but heralded by them as peaceful protests. Innocent people were murdered, businesses and home burned to the ground, Police were not allowed to protect the citizens, and that should be disturbing to every human being.
I do not Trump the person, but in all truthfulness most of the attacks against him were overexaggerated and near hysteria. Such as he is worse than Hitler. Hitler references are an insult to all the Jewish people, especially those who actually experienced the horror of a truly evil man in Hitler.
Some of my fellow democrats complain of 'grab the p---y' issue. I am a guy, and I know that such silly chatter is what every guy has participated in when talking with fellow men in conversation about things that they claim they have done that they may never have or ever would. How would any of you feel if your personal conversations were recorded and played in public? How would any of us feel? Anyone who complains Trump's non-public language have known people in their life have known people just like that. The difference being, that it wasn't recorded and played publicly. Most men report they have spoken that way at one time or another.
The VP also called Biden a racist during one of the nomination debates, which she conveniently forgot about after being named VP by a man she considered a racist. Too many politicians suck.
The Russia collusion and China virus fiasco turned out to be a complete fabricated hoax, and it hampered Trump's entire presidency unfairly. The economy was purring along until the pandemic. To deny that is to reveal yourself as a delusional, obsessive Trump hater who won't give Trump an ounce of credit for anything because you despise him so much.
So maybe Trump deserves another chance. Will I vote for him? If I were on an airplane or undergoing surgery, I'd prefer my pilot or surgeon be the most skilled, not the most woke. If I were required to vote in the next election, I'd rather have Trump over Biden and his current VP.
Being woke is not always the sole factor nor the most important factor, especially when your life, or your country's life depends on it. If China or Russia ever take over America because of our growing incompetence and dominance of non-intellectual education courses (CRT and 1619), a person's wokeness is going to matter as little as your Trump hatred.
Who will I vote for? Only time will tell.

Todays Yankee lineup.

Carlos Rodon L

Isiah Kiner-Falefa (R) LF
Gleyber Torres (R) DH
Giancarlo Stanton (R) RF
Anthony Rizzo (L) 1B
DJ LeMahieu (R) 3B
Harrison Bader (R) CF
Anthony Volpe (R) SS
Kyle Higashioka (R) C
Oswald Peraza (R) 2B

Rodon was brought here to give the Yankees a "pair of aces". So far, no close. Tonight Rodon has a chance to step up and make a case for himself. Time to produce when it matters most. Can he take the NY pressure? We will see. Eight right handed Yankee bats but for Rizzo. Need to score and put up a few crooked numbers on the scoreboard.

3.Brilliant eye-opening comments on this blog.

Just need a win tonight to add to the list.

A note to the Yankee right handed hitters for tonight. Go with the pitch and hit the outside pitches to right and right center. MALE CONTACT -- strikeouts are useless, just like the stat frauds.

Final. Yankees win 3-1. Rodon went 5 2/3 innings allowing 1 run and earned the win. Yankee bullpen was no drama tonight as retiring the Mets 10 times with no hits or walks. In order King last out in 6th and a hold. Peralta a scoreless 7th and a hold, Kahnle a scoreless 8th and a hold and Homes a scoreless 9th and a save,
Yankee scored 2 runs in 2nd on a Peraza rbi fielders choice grounder and a Kiner-Falefa sac fly. Final run scored in 4th on Volpe rbi single to right field. Rodom worked hard and did what he had to for the win.

Final. Yankees lose 1-0. Kahnle gives uo a walk off HR with one out in the bottom of the ninth. A terrible loss, but you never win when you don't score any runs. Judge cane back, but the Orioles nullified him by walking him three times.

BIGTIMEYANKEE said...

I could see it coming. Boone was changing pitchers like he was putting nickels into a slot machine. Nothing worse than losing by one run with the final score 1-0. Stanton needs to be Hicks'ed. Outta here whiff machine.

Steve(winstheonlystat) said...

Last night the Yankees and Orioles demonstrated exactly what production when it matters most is, and exactly what it means as to which team wins or loses. During the game only one batter produced when it mattered most. The batter hit a walk-off home run in the ninth inning for one run, the only run of the game. As always production when it mattered most determined who won the game. At the end of the season, the playoffs, and the World Series, the players and the team that have produced when it mattered most are the best players and team in baseball for that season.

Producing when it matters most, the most, creates wins. Wins and winning are the determining factors as to which teams and players go to the playoffs, advance through the playoffs, and eventually win the World Series. NOTHING ELSE MATTERS

Ian Collins said...

Guy Padikian, don't bother trying to figure it out. No one can. I'll bet you can ask any fan about it and you will get many different answers. Mine, how in God's name can Stanton be batting in a prime spot in the order. In my opinion, he shouldn't be on the team anymore. How long does it take for the 'career' baseball people need to see he is washed up, and useless as a player. He can't hit, he can't field, he can't run. He doesn't care, he has a multimillion-dollar contract and a no trade clause. He must get a big laugh every time he looks at his bank account.

candycane said...

Yanks up 4-2 after 4.

FloridaYankee said...

Yankee score 4 in top of sixth to take an 8-3 lead. Higashioka solo home run and the big when it matters most hit, a three RBI double by Kiner-Falefa. Bullpen time for the Yankees.

Yankees with a big game from Judge and IKF for five rbis. Schmidt struggled but got the run support for the win.

Final. Yankees win 8-3. Even series with rubber game tomorrow. Clarke goes five innings giving up 3 runs and earns the win. Hamilton and Ramirez close out game with two perfect innings each. Yankee scoring Kiner-Falefa with the big hit a base loaded 3 rbi double, Judge a 2 run home run, Higashioka and Stanton with solo home runs, and Torres with a sac fly. Rubber game tomorrow.

Loaisiga scheduled to throw an inning for Tampa Tarpoons this afternoon.

FloridaYankee said...

How about this -- Loaisiga goes two full innings in Tampa a little while ago -- six up six down -- 18 pitches 15 strikes -- 2 strikeouts. He will take a lot of pressure off of King, Marinaccio, and others. Great news, and more to come.

Jerry Curcio said...

FloridaYankee, thank you, thank you, thank you, that is great news. Cortes went four innings a few days ago and was spot on. The team just needs to put everything together and start a drive to the finish line.

Anthony Rizzo (L) 1B
Isiah Kiner-Falefa (R) 3B
Harrison Bader (R) CF
Greg Allen (S) LF
Anthony Volpe (R) SS
Kyle Higashioka (R) C

No Judge, not even as DH, 98% of the time he can be sitting on the bench. Again, no Rortvedt, why did they get him? Louie Louie hopefully gives us a chance and hopefully the bats produce when it matters most, Bullpen at fool strength but for last night's heroes, Hamilton and Ramirez.

Hoyle said...

Guy Padikian, maybe Judge asked off. Or possibly the toe doctors/orthopedics/manager decided to take things slow and ease Judge along so they all could manage the injury. I was somewhat surprised Judge is even able to play. But medicine has come a long way in helping athletes.

Stan the Man said...

1. If it was planned to rest Judge, we should have taken him out of last night's game when up 8-3 after 6 innings. Let him rest the last three innings of a game with a five-run lead.
2. Greg Allen shouldn't start over McKinney. His role should be strictly a pinch runner and defensive replacement.
3. LeMahieu has done well against Kremer. Hate that he is not in lineup tonight.
4. I do not like how we utilize the players we have.
