WIN METHOD YANKEE BASEBALL 2021 SEASON -- FULL SEASON

Hello WIN METHOD Yankee fans, the smartest baseball fans on the face of the earth.  It has been a long time since I last blog posted.  However, there have been comments within the blog from me.  So here we go for 2021.

First, the Yankees will be in the playoffs again this season, but they also will play in the World Series.  In talking with players, they are not happy with what they have achieved the past few seasons.  They feel they have something to prove and want to do it now.  Most of the players have undertaken a new or modified training program instituted by the training staff.  Look for less injuries and less severe injuries this season.  That will be a step forward and a plus for the team as a whole.

Second, Corey Kluber and Jameson Taillon both feel very optimistic with what each will contribute to the Yankees success this season.  Both players believe their injuries are behind them.  As of now, the Yankee starting rotation looks like it will have four men in the first four spots right now.  Cole, Kluber, Taillon, and Montgomery.  The fifth spot will be determined in March.  The guys who do not make the fifth spot will either be sent to AAA Scranton or long relievers on the big team.  Then the big guy Louie Louie Severino will make his return to the Bronx in June.  The pitching staff looks solid and has many fall back arms to rely on.  The bullpen remains solid and strong, also with several young arms looking to make an impact.

Third, the lineup will be solid again, more important, will be healthier.  Runs will be put on the board.  The biggest question mark will be at catcher.  Catcher Gary Sanchez has been a black hole in the Yankee lineup recently, ala afraud in the past.  Gary Sanchez is being mentored and talked to by coaches and trainers.  Sanchez feels it is helping him,  As the season starts, we will all see if it has.  Sanchez himself is the only person who can really make it happen.  It is up to him.  A big WIN METHOD season from Sanchez would be a big help to the lineup and the team.  If he does what he has been doing the last couple of seasons, Gary's days could be short lived.

As you all know I always read all posts by all of you who post here.  Looking at the numbers of views recorded on the WIN METHOD blog there are also an enormous number of fans who read the blog consistently.  You fans will take this blog, the number one Yankee baseball blog in the world over the one billion mark somewhere around June 1st this year.  You are the people who take this blog in the direction you want it to go on a daily, weekly, monthly, or whatever time frame basis.  This past year, we saw a very shortened baseball season, we saw a disgusting Chinese created virus, spread throughout the world by the most foul Chinese government, killing millions of people from all countries across the globe.  We had a presidential election here in America.  The election was the most corrupt election in the history of America stolen by the most corrupt politicians in America's history.  We now have the most corrupt politicians in America's history running our country.  They will do their best to destroy America.  Hopefully, you the people will do whatever you need to do to stop the destruction.

It is now back to baseball and a great Yankee season.  Thank all of you for reading and posting your views and opinions in this blog.  You are the people who have made the WIN METHOD blog the best and greatest Yankee baseball blog, forum, or site in the world.  We here are WIN METHOD will continue to have no signups, no ask for no personal information from you, no advertisements, and no bans of anyone.  You, your views, and your opinions do not get canceled here.  Unlike big tech, other baseball forums or sites which control you by banning or canceling you, here, that will never happen.

One more thing before I conclude.  I would like to recognize the life and pay my respects to RUSH HUDSON LIMBAUGH III who passed away February 17th.  Rush was the greatest radio and political commentator of all time.  Rush's radio career spanned over thirty years.  Rush's show was three hours a day, five days week, fifty-two weeks a year.  Rush was right 99.8% of the time and one of the finest American patriots who believed in freedom and pursuit of happiness of every single American.   Rest in peace, you will never be forgotten.

It is baseball time again.  Lets look forward to a great season and as always LETS GO YANKEES.

Yankee players get rested far to much. How do you get into a good groove unless you play everyday. At most a regular should only get a day off once a week or four times a month. If a team gets two off days a month, a player only will miss one game every two weeks or two games a month. A six month season and each regular should play just about 150 games a season or at minimum 140+.

Final. Yankees lose 4-0. Lineup embarrasses themselves once again. The Rays bullpen hadn't a 1,2,3 inning all season until today and had three of them against the Yankees. Let's get the worst of this season over with now.

It is said at least once every season in this blog. When you are playing your worse, you are not that bad, and when you are playing your best you are not that good. So go the Yankees.

Norm Jackson said...

Monty starts tomorrow in Tampa to prevent a sweep. No Cole on his pitch day?

NJYANKEE said...

The Rays embarrassed and made a fool of Yankee first baseman Jay Bruce when they played all four of their infielder on the right side of second base today. The only Rays fielder on the left side of second base was their left fielder. The Rays actually had five fielders on the outfield grass.

Tim Hergenraeder said...

NJYANKEE, what bothers me is Bruce made absolutely no attempt to try to hit the ball to the left side where there was nobody playing. Then what infuriates me most is Boone allows all this to happen.

7. Gary Sanchez (R) C

Bruce out thank God. Odor in at 2b with LeMahieu at 1b. Gardner has been best Yankee player so far this season.

Losing as series to a rival by one game is much better than losing by three games. This is an early season big game and the Yankees better wake up and play it that way.

The Yankees are very innovative, they are finding new ways to blow chances of winning.

Yankees pull out an 8-4 win in ten innings. Big much needed win.

will-i-am said...

Final. Yankees win 8-4 in ten innings. Game winning hit from newest Yankee Roughned Odor. Odor's acquisition by the Yankees allows him to play second base and LeMahieu to play first base instead of useless Jay Bruce. One game and Odor has already paid dividends with the biggest hit when it mattered most for the win. Sanchez and Urshela also followed Odor with rbi hits to seal the victory.

Yanks23245 said...

I wonder who got through to Boone the last couple of days what with the lineup juggling. In the end the lineup doesn't mean that much but for the fact that the top of the lineup gets more plate appearances in almost every game. The point being, no matter who is hitting where in the lineup, producing when it counts determines who win and loses almost always. Producing when it counts is the heart of the game.

And if Boone would write Bruce's name on the lineup card ever again, I'd fire him instantly before the game was over and have him removed from the dugout. Add on that if any of the players complained about it, I would let them have their say one time, and then warn every one of them if they say anything again, they would be gone also.

Baseball want to move the mound back one foot. This won't keep pitchers in the game longer, but will fatigue them leading to more injuries. MLB needs to first undo all the stupid dog and pony tricks they already implemented, ban analytics, and ban the front office from managing games.

Need to get Voit back as quickly as possible. He seems to play with intensity and urgency.

Izy Hernandez said...

Phil Jenkins, I agree. Voit would be a big help to the lineup. Also, if Bruce's name shows up in the lineup again, heads should roll.

Grosner said...

The average fastball has gone up over 2 MPH in recent years and there are more K's than hits in games (each of the last 3 years--first time ever in MLB history)

It isn't analytics, owners, or the commissioners fault. Teams have discovered pitching is more effective when used for shorter periods and with bigger players. The game and players change.

Should the rules change today to encourage longer pitching outings and less K's? In the 60's the mound was lowered from 15" to 10". In the 70's the DH was introduced. I don't know if I like the idea of moving back the mound, but worth experimenting a bit. I say lower the mound another 5". I wouldn't want to face a 6'8" Tyler Glasnow standing on a 10" hill.

Gil McKenzie said...

When someone says it isn't analytics, they are wrong. Analytics has created the over shift, exit velocity, spin rate, etc. Managers don't encourage hitters to hit the opposite field, then say and do nothing when guys consistently make outs hitting into the shift. Moving the pitching rubber down is fine with me, but moving it back alters the game to much. The designated hitter was a great rule change and made the game better, not worse. All it did was allow a real hitter to bat instead of the pitcher.

yankeedoodledandy said...

The extra inning rule in today's game is a game altering rule. It corrupts and dilutes the game itself. The inning starting with a runner on second base makes the first nine innings and every event that created the nine inning tie moot. That is not baseball the way the game is supposed to be played, it creates a circus event and debases the integrity of the game.

Grosner said...

Re: analytics -- bringing in a lefty pitcher to face a lefty hitter is pure use of analytics and has been going on for 100 years. A defensive shift is a much less drastic move than that in comparison.

Measuring spin rate and exit velocity are no different than a scout timing a guy running between bases to gauge his speed.

Analytics has always been part of baseball in different ways. Today's game has 100+ guys that can throw in the upper 90's. That is what is changing the game, not analytics.

Grosner, you are conflating common sense and normal evaluation into analytics. There is a world of difference between stop watching a runner and lefty/lefty, righty/righty matchups compared to the invention of spin rates meaning something or exit velocity meaning something.

VincentVanGoYankees said...

The Yanks got all of three hits last night. If the players don't start producing it won't matter what the lineup is. Cory, agree that exit velocity is meaningless and useless measure. But it is just a gimmick for fans. It doesn't impact how the game is played or managed.

Mark Wagoner said...

Grosner, I also agree with you and Cory about exit velocity. However it is not a gimmick just for fans. Baseball is played different now and taught different than in the past. Making contact and hitting the ball to all fields means little now a days to managers and how the game is played. Teams allow players to hit into the shift and not away from it. Players are allowed to swing for the fences all the time. This is taught and accepted. Strikeouts are accepted by teams. There was a post back a while ago by a poster who said if he was manager he would bench every hitter who did not go the opposite field when a shift was used against him. Hear, hear to that.

Players make big salaries from hitting HRs and the harder the better. Launch angle is taught so more players can hit more home runs. Batting average is taboo for stat frauds and they say it means nothing. Players get paid for their individual stats and rated for their individual stats. Winning means nothing to them anymore. Take not of the poster fraud of baseball Mike Trout. He could have signed anywhere but he took just money and stayed with the Angels, a team he has helped lead to utter failure since he has been there. He doesn't give a darn about winning, the Angels pay him and lose, but they call him the best player in baseball. As WIN METHOD says, you can't be the best unless you win.

Exit velocity does play a big part in how the game is managed and played. I'll believe it plays not party when I see and hear all managers speak out against exit velocity calling it meaningless and useless.

Diane Stahl said...

You can see the players go wild in the dugout when one of their power hitters hits a ball 450 feet. Screaming and jumping and all kinds of antics from almost every player, to say nothing of the home run hitter bat flip, stand and watch, look for recognition from the dugout, etcetera.

Final. Yankees win 6-3. German six innings three runs for the win. Odor and Higashioka the bats for the win. Is this possibly the start of good things. Stay tuned.

It's about time. More of the same.

Producing when it counts wins games. Producing the most often when it counts means you get to go to the playoffs.

Randy Holt said...

If not for some sloppy fielding last night German could have had six scoreless innings.

Augie Defonce said...

Also three solid innings of relief pitching again last night. Voit, Britton, and Louie Louie back within two months.

FloridaYankee said...

We are getting innings from three starters now. Cole, Monty, and German. Plus Kluber and Taillon both went five last out with just one run allowed by each. Now if the bats start producing when it matters most more consistently we should see a bunch of wins on the horizon.

Final. Yankees win 5-3. Another win coming from behind after being down 3-0 after first inning. Stanton 2 solo home runs. Hicks a solo home run and the big blast to tie the game by Odor a two run home run. Montgomery after a tough 3 run first inning goes five innings allowing just the three runs and the bullpen does the rest again with another four scoreless innings.

Game with Indians is a 6PM game. Cole vs Bieber. Should be a good one.

Stanton is a physical beast. The rare times he barrels up a baseball it is hit harder than anyone else in baseball can.

I would really like to see the Yankees win tonight. Beat a top pitcher, extend win streak to three games, take the series, and then move up the ladder.

1. DJ LeMahieu (R) 1B
2. Giancarlo Stanton (R) DH
3. Aaron Judge (R) RF

5. Gio Urshela (R) 3B
6. Aaron Hicks (S) CF
7. Clint Frazier (R) LF

Boone not using either Gardner nor Tauchman against a tough right handed pitcher.

It looks as if precipitation may be part of tonight's game.

Eddie OConnor said...

Scoreless thru three.

Yankeeforever said...

Bieber and Cole both pitch seven complete innings and both leave game. Yankees/Cole up 2-1. One heck of pitchers duel. Still two more innings to go for the bullpens.

will-i-am said...

Final. Yankees win 2-1. Hicks and Odor home runs is all the offense. Cole seven innings one run. Wilson and Loaisiga combine for the last two shutout innings. An old fashioned pitchers duel and a edge of your seat nail biting win. Yanks take third straight game for first time this season.

Jerry Curcio said...

Yankees go for a four game sweep tomorrow with Taillon starting.

Odor has been super so far for the Yankees. Sometimes a change of scenery and a clean shave can make a world of difference.

Remember a WIN METHOD tenet, a player can be WIN METHOD for a team and not for another.

Alex Antonius said...

Right now, Odor is a bigger asset for the Yankees than Frazier and Tauchman combined.

Swen Jorgenson said...

Odor has played flawless defense also which has made it easy for LeMahieu to move to first base until Voit gets back.

Hope Deivi comes up big tomorrow and forces a decision on earning a starting rotation spot.

Tom Wilson said...

We got out 3 of 4 in Cleveland, now do it again in Baltimore.

yankeedoodledandy said...

Pitchers for Orioles series. Deivi, Kluber, German, and Monty. Cole will start Detroit weekend series at home at the Stadium.

Yanks23245 said...

When we took 3 of 4 from the Indians we had Cole for a game. In Baltimore, no Cole, so 3 of 4 will be a bigger challenge. We need good pitching and maybe the offense will see the light in the Oriole bandbox.

Frank Sergi said...

It would help the Yankees a lot if a young strong arm like Deivi's could take a giant leap forward to become a forceful starting MLB pitcher.

Phil Jenkins said...

I get the impression the Yankees don't push their youngsters enough and really don't give them enough rope to prove themselves. Throw in to much rest too. I read here earlier that players don't have to try to get on base by hitting away from the defensive shifts, but are allowed to swing away right into it. Watching games I see so many other teams players getting hits to the opposite field. Not all, but many. A shakeup of some kind may be needed.

Domingo Orengo said...

Patricia Piper said...

It seems like any other teams pitchers do not have to be really good to make the Yankee hitters look bad.

John Hartnett said...

I couldn't give a crap what the exit velocity is for a guy who is hitting below .200. For that matter, I couldn't give a crap what the exit velocity is for a guy who's hitting over .300. I was watching a game the other night where a batter lined out sharp to the first baseman. The announcers, instead of talking about the out, just talked about the exit velocity and how good it was. But it was an out. A hard out is as much of an out as a soft out. It's a completely meaningless stat. What do I care what the exit velocity is of a home run? You don't get more runs for a home run with higher exit velocity, nor how far it is hit. What fools these stat frauds are. They are ruining the greatest game on earth. Hang them all, or at worse, execute them.

okiened said...

I read an article recapping the night’s game over on the garbage Pinstripe Alley site. They covered the exit velocity on the back to back doubles by Judge and Stanton. So what!

I mean, just stop it with the nonsense. Stop quantifying a hard hit ball. Stop angling swings. Just hit the damn ball.

sid greenberg,nyc said...

okiened, Amen. I have no idea what Paul O’Neil or Derrick Jeter’s exit velocity was. I do know they were better equipped to put a ball in play when it mattered most and a great amount found holes. Or for that matter, all the great players in baseball history. How did baseball survive without all the garbage metrics? Answer is, far better than they are doing now.

The Yankees so desperately need to get back to basics, as does all of baseball.

Linda Rice said...

When you start five guys batting under .200 and the the sixth about .210 it's amazing you win any games.

Cal Fuerst said...

Who will Boone play tonight and in what order. Odor at cleanup doesn't work. Hitting 8th or 9th he is OK.

yankeeclipper said...

So many of the great hitters of past decades philosophy on hitting when asked about their feats was, "I see the ball, I hit the ball."

Todays philosophy, I swing as hard as I can at the launch angle I was taught and hope to hit it hard sometimes so my exit velocity is high and I get recognition from the stat frauds.

Wes Quntrail said...

I erred when I posted last night that German would be starting tonight's game. Kluber is starting tonight and German tomorrow's game.

Urshella's sac last night was the first one for the Yankees this season. They were the last team in MLB to earn a sac fly this season. It came in the Yankees 23rd game and adding in last seasons last seven sac fly less games they went 30 games without one. Dreadful production when it matters most. Failure to produce when it matters most is the essence of the WIN METHOD philosophy and explains the Yankee record so far this season.

Wilsonsway said...

Yanks take 5-0 thru 3 on Ford HR and Urshella 3 run HR.

candycane said...

Yanks down 1-0 after 4.

Pedro/Seattle said...

Little league commissioner Manfred extra innings even at 3.

will-i-am said...

Final. Yankees lose 4-3 in ten innings. Another game of pathetic when it matters most hitting. This extra inning rule is a joke. Judge pinch hitting is a joke. Three pitches, three strikes and he's gone. Worse was he pinch hit for the one batter who has produced the most when it matters recently and who produced a two rbi single with two outs to put the Yankees up 2-1 after the two previous batters failed with the bases loaded and no and then one outs.

coryankee said...

Both teams start the 10th inning with a runner on second base. We can't bunt him over to third with one out. They do and then have a runner on third with one out where an out can score a run. They get the sac fly out and win the game. Heck, even if we bunt him over to third, our batter would have likely struck out or popped up.

PRODUCTION WHEN IT COUNTS THE MOST WINS GAMES.....Today was a perfect example. Case closed stat frauds.
