WIN METHOD --- 2018 --- THE PLAYOFFS --- WHERE THE BEST CONTINUE TO PLAY

Yes WIN METHOD fans the 2018 YANKEES have won enough games to reach the playoffs, also known as the second season.  Only ten teams make it to the playoffs and the only determining factor that allows these ten teams into the playoffs is WINS.   Only WINS and winning define the best players and teams.  Nothing else matters no matter what the phony fake stat frauds try to tell you, only wins get teams into the playoffs.  We all know what the stat frauds can do with their meaningless stats.  That's right, the frauds are going home to watch the teams with enough WINS play in the second season.

This years YANKEES again have reached the playoffs as a wild card team and they did so with 100 wins.  Three superior American League teams won over 100 games this season, none in the inferior national league.  Being a wild card team means the Yankees to advance to the next round of playoffs  will have to defeat a strong Oakland Athletics team in a one game win or go home game at YANKEE Stadium on Wednesday night.

Considering the astounding amount of injuries that kept many of the Yankee star players out of the lineup for so many games this season, winning 100 games and making the playoffs was a very solid result for this team.   I must give special recognition to Miguel Andujar who will be named rookie of the year and will become one of the great names in baseball over the next decade.  A very special player.

No matter the outcome of this seasons playoffs, I am already looking forward to the 2019 season.  Yes WIN METHOD fans I will be around for another season.   There is still much blooming and growing going on with the YANKEE youngsters with more to come.

Now, on to the second season and hope it is more than one game.  LETS GO YANKEES!!!

The Yankee 2018 season is over. The team went down fighting to the last pitch and had a chance to play another day only to fall short by one run after scoring twice against one of the very best closing pitchers in baseball.
Think positive, we get another chance to try again next year in just a little over four months spring training camps will open for the 2019 season.

Steve said...

There are decisions to be made by management. If they use analytical statistics they will go down the rat hole. What a player brings to the table is more than baseball ability. WIN METHOD understands and knows this. Follow his lead and the team can be the best of the best again.

Andy K said...

I honestly think part of the problem here is that everyone in that clubhouse believes that they ARE a championship team. They're NOT. Not until they actually, you know, win a championship. So I don't know if it's a stat fraud thing where they see these numbers and think that they SHOULD win or if it's generational thing (Trying not to say "millennial") where they just think a championship is their birthright. Whatever it is we need a manager that puts things into better perspective. Instead what we have is a manager who embraces these expectations.

Carl Hooks said...

My thought is this team needs two ace starting pitchers backed by Severino, Tanaka, and Happ. If a Yankee rookie pitcher can perform and produce enough to start at the MLB level go with a six man rotation. That will keep all the starters stronger and fresher for the entire season and the post season. Spend the money on buying ace starters. Then add hitters to the lineup who actually hit the ball when they swing as apposed to missing it by three feet. I strongly believe in the "pass the baton" concept. Scoring many runs a game with walks and hits deteriorates the other teams pitching staff and wins games the most often.

Doug Shoen said...

Many good thoughts here, but it Cashman et al who make the decisions and deals. If they listen to WIN METHOD they will do well, but they are pulled in many directions by the stat fraud sabermetricians and that can't be good.

sid greenberg,nyc said...

If Hal Steinbrenner breaks open the piggy bank we could be fine, if he doesn't we will get what we got.....another playoff team that can't close the deal. If Hal Steinbrenner breaks open the piggy bank and listens to the best talent evaluator in baseball, WIN METHOD, we will win a World Series next year.

HerecomestheJudge said...

I hate that the Yankee season is done.

bigbadwolf said...

Thinking of all the WIN METHOD fans in the path of hurricane Michael. Stay safe.

Norm Jackson said...

I guess the biggest decision with the Yankee hierarchy will be do they really want the team to be a World Series champion. Sure they will say it. But will they do what is needed to get there. Papa Steinbrenner knew that spending and winning made even more money. Hal may not be of the same mind.

Vinny Ferrero said...

George Steinbrenner was one of the finest owners in baseball history.

KevMac said...

If the powers that be listen to the stat frauds this team will it will not turn out well for the them. Players who produce when it counts determine who is best, and that is not always the players with the highest individual stats.

Zack Norris said...

It will be a long off season, we will just have to wait and see how it turns out.

Lori Kelly said...

They playoffs aren't finished yet. There is plenty of time for the Yankees to figure out their plan of action to get better prepared for 2019.

Tony Manchu said...

meatball is the Yankees biggest issue in my view. All he has is his arm to throw out base stealers, but his passed balls plus the wild pitches some of which he should get to negate his arm. He can't run and if last year is any indication, he can't hit.

Phil Jenkins said...

I guess by now everyone has heard that Didi will be out for most of next season or at least half. He will be undergoing Tommy John (TJ) surgery on his throwing elbow any day now. That adds yet another conundrum to the off season strategy. We do need a left handed bat, big time.

Anthony Naro said...

Harper is available, but is he the right left-handed bat we need or really want?

Harry Stavris said...

How much are we willing to pay Harper? NO player is worth what he will likely get.

Kurt Holmes said...

More than likely the real WS will be played this series between the sux and Astros.

Arnies Army said...

Are the Yankees snakebit. So many injuries to so many players. All teams suffer injured players, but none of them have had the quantity the Yankees have had.

Mark Wagoner said...

Somewhere down the road bad fortunes will change and the Yankees will go onto a run of very big wins and winning and will be the best again.

Sammybigdog said...

Harper could improve with the Yankees. Left handed power bat in the Stadium surrounded by several other good power bats. He wouldn't get pitched around with the Yankees.

Gus Papa said...

If the Yankee trade Andujar they would be idiots.

Izy Hernandez said...

We need a couple of very reliable and consistent starters.

Gabe Dreuer said...

Izy Hernandez, no question starters that keep you in the game time after time are solid acquisitions. Particularly with the runs are lineup can produce. Also a couple of solid OBP guys on top of the lineup.

Raul Vasquez said...

The Yankee hierarchy needs to learn how to make the Yankees great again. WIN METHOD.

Walt Belamy said...

Raul Vasquez, hear hear.

Larry Kennedy said...

Lets bloom and grow. Our youngsters are still blooming and growing.

Cory said...

The D-backs Corbin is a possibility. He would have to move up from AAAA to the greatest league in baseball in the toughest division in baseball.

yankeelover said...

With the loss of this year, the team should have plenty to prove and play for next season. Hopefully we will have a manager who will be able to drive the point home, enforce a code of play led by hustle and team, staying in the zone when hitting, hitting the ball where it is pitched, limiting wild swings and all the strikeouts, etc. etc.

Gordon Gecko said...

Where the best continue to play. The Yankees made it to the final eight in MLB. That is decent considering there are thirty teams. The Yankees are also in the better league and likely better than possibly all inferior league nl teams. Still have to wait until next year.

Quay Ho said...

We played the playoffs like we played the season. Good and bad, good and bad.

Domenic said...

The free agent market is not the only source of acquiring players. Yes, the FA market only costs money. Trades are another viable option if the right deal can be made that is not one sided but equitable for both sides.

Mike Smith said...

There is also a left from Japan that looks like he will get posted in November. Again, he would only cost money. The drawback may be he has had tender shoulder for several seasons.

Augie Defonce said...

Yusei Kikuchi is the Japanese pitcher that will be posted.

Jack Bauer said...

We will see how things turn out down the road and into spring training.

okiened said...

If sabermetrics and analytical statistics are so great why do some teams still lose 90 or more games a season!

Teena/Bronx said...

All I can do is say a prayer every day that the Yankees do the right things and everything works out right for next season.

Dan Reynolds said...

Teena/Bronx....say a prayer that the Yankees take WIN METHODS advice before anyone else's.

Gene A said...

If the Yankees can acquire is any shape or form two high quality winning starters for 2019 it would help them very much.

Craig Winstead said...

I hope the Yankees are watching the hitters on both the Strohs and sux and their plan at the plate of hitting the ball to all fields and not swinging for the fences all the time. There are much less wild swings of balls outside the strike zone compared to Yankee batters who will swing at pitches out of the zone by as much as three feet.

Mickey Littlebear said...

Paying big salaries to individuals who play for themselves kills a team, paying players who play for the team to win and do the little things with success the most often makes for the best players and best teams.

Hector Lopez said...

If it comes down to Machado or Harper, Harper is more logical because he is a lefty bat. Neither may be worth their cost. They are no better than what we have in house.

Paul Hirschman said...

In my mind it will still come back to the development and or acquisition of front line starting pitchers.

Frank Harris said...

Machado is in AAAA ball since he left the O's and he still stinks. No way Jose in my opinion.

Patricia Piper said...

Just say no to Machado.

Larry Kennedy said...

Just say no to long term contracts. They kill organizations.

johnsondc said...

Didi had his TJ surgery yesterday and reports say everything went as expected.

Pepe Gonzales said...

That is another decision the Yankees will have to make to start the season. Shortstop.

Kenny Sheperd said...

I have really enjoyed the Astro/bosux series so far. A heck of a lot of talent on both teams.

Guy Padikian said...

Machado is a prima donna we do not need and I hope don't want.

muchomachoman said...

If we go for a bat and he does not try to rob us, Harper over anyone. Need the lefty bat, don't need a right handed bat at all. No to Donaldson also.

Lee King said...

Harper maybe, and two good starters should do the trick for 2019.

Steve said...

The bosux will represent the superior American League in the World Series and deservedly so after defeating the next two best teams in baseball, the Yankees and the Astros.

Tommy Lee said...

The bosux now get to rest and setup their pitching for the AAAA winner. The bosux will win the World Series.

Benny Pake said...

The Dodgers and Brewers play to win this series to see who gets beat up the next series.

Stache Colinski said...

Getting back to the Yankees. Pitching must be the big get for 2019.

Les Melman said...

It's going to be a long winter without baseball.

Fred Slube said...

The Brewers beat the Dodgers last night so a final seventh game will be played tonight in Milwaukee. Winner goes to WS, loser goes home.

Victor Grandozi said...

Pitching, pitching, pitching. We have the bats in house.

Yankeefan2 said...

We don't need Machado and if Cashman thinks we do he is a fool.

Tim Hergenraeder said...

Or Cashman is an idiot.

Bobby Behan said...

Let some other team waste their money on Machado.

Roy Shaw said...

The LA Dodgers trounced the Milwaukee Brewers last night and they will now face the Boston bosux in the 2019 World Series. The superior American League bosux versus the AAAA league Dodgers.

sid greenberg,nyc said...

The sux just beat 100 and 103 win teams to earn their way to the WS, lets see how they do with the Dodgers.

Carl Hooks said...

As for Machado the Yankees don't need any more drama-filled loafers, especially one who will cost $30 plus million a year. Let some other team sign him to be a role model for their young and impressionable roster.

If the Yankees are going to spend big in free agency, Harper is a far better fit for this team: superior OBP, LH-power bat and he'll play wherever the team needs him most.

Zhaire said...

no, nO, NO, Machado.

Domenic said...

I will be most interested to see what Michael King brings to the table this coming spring training. Bloom and grow.

MAWRY said...

All I can say is all teams use analytical stats and sabermetrics and you still have teams winning a 100 games and teams losing 100 games and all the others falling somewhere in between. You only have one team using the WIN METHOD, although I wouldn't be surprised if several other teams use player profiling to some degree. The proof is in the pudding, only the Yankees have had the most success over the past two plus decades. All hail the WIN METHOD.

Warren Hammond said...

I wouldn't be a bit surprised if the sux, who are in direct competition with the Yankees are using some time of profiling ala the WIN METHOD, because they have some very strong WIN METHOD type players.

Karl R said...

Domenic, King had a very strong breakout season in AA and AAA last season. He could very well be a force to deal with.

Zack Norris said...

sux in 5, because they have lost 1 game in each series so far.

Al Ashton said...

If Harper wants to be a Yankee, he should take less money. If not, forget about him. Pitching is the biggest need.

Walt Belamy said...

Al Ashton, I agree. We score plenty of runs. Real good starting pitchers are the need.

Gil McKenzie said...

Lets win it all in 2019.

Patrick Healy said...

Players playing for the team to win is the most important thing a team can have. Playing for individual stats will kill a team.

Sean Smith said...

Players who produce when it counts means wins.

will-i-am said...

sux take game one of WS. Game two tonight.

Linda Pardo said...

Just don't do anything too stupid Mr. Cashman.

Stan the Man said...

sux are really producing when it counts. They have been doing it all year. Another 2 out rbi single for a 1-0 lead.

will-i-am said...

sux with game two of WS and lead two games to none. Off day tomorrow as teams head to LA for next games.

Victor Bruno said...

Boston is surely in the catbirds seat.

bigbadwolf said...

If Cashman uses sabermetric statistical analysis to build the Yankees they will likely never win a World Series. If he relies heavily on the WIN METHOD evaluation they likely will win several World Series. Hal Steinbrenner is not his father and does not know baseball or want to win like his father did. So he does not know any better. Hope he wakes up and becomes like his father soon.

Yankeeforever said...

The sux won the ALDS in New York, they won the ALCS in Houston, and now they can win the WS in Los Angeles. If they win in LA their home fans will not see their team win a post season series in Boston. Ironic.

Steve said...

We all talk about producing when it counts. Down 2-1 in the 5th inning last night 2 outs and no one on the sux get opposite field single, single up the middle, a walk, a rbi walk to tie score 2-2, and another opposite field single for 2 more runs and a 4-2 lead. All WHEN IT COUNTS to win the game.

NJYANKEE said...

If stat frauds ever find a brain and or grow a spine they will break away from the fake stats and convoluted meaningless formulas which mislead fans regarding the ability of players. Wins and winning never fails in determining who are the best players and best teams.

Raul Vasquez said...

It all comes down to common sense. Would you rather win with players who produce when it counts the most or lose with high individual stat players? Common sense, people, common sense. Win with the WIN METHOD.

Tony Manchu said...

The sux bats should have some fun at the Dodger stadium playground this weekend.

Lori Kelly said...

Please do not get into a bidding war for any player or players. If you want someone, make a fair, strong, competitive offer. Then that's it. The player either accepts it or goes somewhere else. DO NOT CRIPPLE THE TEAM AND THE FUTURE PAYING ANY ONE PERSON FAR FAR MORE THAN THEY ARE WORTH.
THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO PLAYER IN BASEBALL WORTH WHAT THE HIGHEST PAID PLAYERS ARE GETTING AND SEEKING.

Dakarai Folami said...

^^^^^^^^
I agree.

Yankeefan2 said...

If the Dodgers do not win tonight, they will have almost no chance to win the Series.

Benny Pake said...

I'm in the no player is worth anything over the $25 million camp.

Gus Papa said...

You sign the right players and you don't have to break the piggy bank to be a competitor.

Walt Belamy said...

Machado would be the second coming of afraud. A cancer. No way should the Yankees go for him.

muchomachoman said...

Manny the mooch is a dog. He plays for himself and does not help his team. The stat frauds love him because they are fools. They only look at numbers and they accept losses and losing.

will-i-am said...

LA Dodgers win game 3 last night 3-2 in 18 innings. Boston bosux lead series 2 games to 1. Game for tongiht.

jimbo said...

Mookie Betts may have had the worst game of his career last night. Also the one thru four batters for the sux last night were 0 for 28.

Giambino said...

Please, no Machado.

Vince/Brooklyn said...

Add my name to the no Manny list. We don't need his attitude nor his character.

will-i-am said...

The Boston bosux take a three game to one lead in the World Series with a late inning comeback after being down 4-0 after six innings. The sux scored 3 in the 7th to cut LA lead to 4-3. Scored 1 in 8th to tie game at 4. Then scored 5 in the 9th for a 9-4 lead before their ace closer allowed 2 meaningless in the 9th for a final 9-6 win.

Norm Jackson said...

The sux are doing in the second season exactly what they were doing all the regular season. Winning and winning with every player contributing offensively and defensively to win more games and more series than any other team in baseball. They are having a great year, one of the greatest in baseball history.

Doug Shoen said...

Baseball season could end tonight with a sux win.

Patrick Healy said...

Many of the ignorant stat frauds are hot on Josh Donaldson. Donaldson is another waste and not even close to what we already have. No to Donaldson. Don't need a 30ish something going downhill.

coryankee said...

The lineup needs to be balanced. Since Bird is a major question mark after the season he just had, Gardner on the downward trend because of age, the only left handed bat is Didi and he is out for at least half of next season. Thus, Harper is the logical choice for a left handed bat. Absolutely no way should Machado or Donaldson should even be a thought. Hicks is a switch hitter so he can be considered a lefty bat. If Harper is a goal, one more lefty would be the next goal. The only spot open are catcher and first base. First of all a real good starter needs to be found in one is not in house. Schmidt will need this season in the minors just to build innings so I do not think he will make an impact until 2020. Michael King will need to prove himself this spring. Montgomery coming off surgery no impact in 2019 either. Sheffield needs seasoning, development, and ripening, before he may bloom and grow.
