This season we appear to have improved the roster in all areas. Adding Stanton, Walker, Drury, etc. will surely make this team better. Having Robertson, Kahnle, and Gray for the entire season should also improve the team. The only injury of consequence is Greg Birds bone spur, the surgery he just underwent, and him being out for about two months. As usual we will play the hand we are dealt and overcome all roadblocks and obstacles.
We have several players at AAA Scranton chomping at the bit while blooming and growing that will be heard from and make their presence felt this season. You know their names, Torres, Andujar, German, and others. This 2018 Yankee team is deep, has gained confidence and experience, and has backups close at hand.
As I started to write this post I noticed a post by Cory. I thought his post was very insightful and positive and I didn't want it to get bypassed because of being posted in a past blog, so I am reposting it right here now. Thank you for your post Cory.
----- I will be doing the ten game sets and posting them here as I did last season.
Here is the sets from last season.
10. 6-4
20. 7-3 = 13-7
30. 8-2 = 21-9
40. 3-7 = 24-16
50. 6-4 = 30-20
60. 7-3 = 37-23
70. 2-8 = 39-31
80. 4-6 = 43-37
90. 4-6 = 47-43
100. 7-3 = 54-46
110. 5-5 = 59-51
120. 6-4 = 65-55
130. 5-5 = 70-60
140. 5-5 = 75-65
150. 8-2 = 83-67
160. 7-3 = 90-70
Note the sets from games 61-90. We were 10-20. That is awful baseball. Still finished 91-71. With everything else staying the same if that 30 game skid could be bettered this season to just 15-15 that would mean this season could wind up 96-66. If we improve the three 5-5 sets from last season by one game that would take this season to 99-63. And if we raise the 3-7 set to 4-6 that could take this season to 100 wins.
It will be up to the players on the field producing when it matters most, but it is surely possible.-----
It is not only Cory with great posts, it is all of your posts, every single one of you from all over the world who post your comments and views here. And all of the readers of the WIN METHOD blog from all over the world, even if you do not post. We have surpassed 320 million views and are getting bigger and bigger every day. Yes, we still get some stat frauds, but they are good for us and also and serve a purpose. The stat frauds give us a guidepost and remind us of just how meaningless and useless their individual stats are. There is no doubt to anyone here who is a WIN METHOD fan that only wins can take a team to the playoffs. Only wins and winning as always, do now, and always will in the future, determine the best players and teams. THANK YOU ALL WIN METHOD FANS.
Now it is just about that time where we all stand up and cheer our team for the 2018 season!
LETS GO YANKEES

«Oldest ‹Older 1001 – 1200 of 2301 Newer› Newest»I hope Stanton doesn't turn into another afraud. afraud crippled this team for over a decade.
As a Yankee and WIN METHOD fan you have to be very happy with how well Andujar and Torres are playing and producing. They will only get better.
Wednesday 5/30 6:35pm
Luis Severino (R)
vs. Astros - Dallas Keuchel (L)
1. Aaron Hicks (S) CF
2. Aaron Judge (R) RF
3. Giancarlo Stanton (R) LF
4. Gary Sanchez (R) DH
5. Tyler Austin (R) 1B
6. Gleyber Torres (R) 2B
7. Didi Gregorius (L) SS
8. Miguel Andujar (R) 3B
9. Austin Romine (R) C
Didi the only left handed bat today. Romine catching with Sanchez DH. Lets go Yankees.
As was mentioned earlier. The one issue still may be Stanton batting third. He just has to starting hitting consistently some time. Hard to believe he has been so futile swinging at nowhere near the strike zone. He has looked so hapless too many times.
Just have to keep winning. The competition is giving us no quarter.
6:30 game tonight fans.
Yanks up 1-0 after 2.
Yanks up 1-0 after 4.
After Louie Louie gives up 2 run HR in top of 5th, Yankees respond with a 2 out 2 RBI when it counts single by Sanchez. Yanks lead 3-2 after 5.
Louie Louie goes seven innings and leaves with the Yankees coming to bat and a 5-2 lead. Up to the bullpen now.
Final, Yankees win 5-3. Take series and head to Baltimore for four games.
I know we don't play other teams games, but a turn around is about to occur. If we take care of business in Baltimore these four games we will make a big forward move. Because the sux head to Houston and play the Astro four games. Look for a big rebound from the Astros and a big bad weekend for the sux.
Very nice win tonight and we beat Houston 5 of the 7 games we played them this season.
Robertson with the hold and Chapman with the save tonight, but it wasn't easy as the Astros did have the tying run at the plate in the ninth. They don't quit.
Yankee Mike...we are 2 games behind the sux, lets see where we are after the games this weekend are all played.
Gray, Tanaka, German, CC for the series in Baltimore.
Gray needs to produce for the Yankees. He is running out of excuses. All we here from the 'experts' is how good his stuff is. In the real world, it ain't good unless you can win.
The Yankee bats should come alive these four games in Camden Yards.
Oscar Hron, but so will the Oriole pitchers arms as they rise to a higher level to try to beat the big bad Yankees. The new younger Yankees need to learn and learn quickly that they are targets and the opposition is gunning for them. They need to remember the WIN METHOD number one tenet, WINS ARE ALL THAT MATTERS.
Don't let the triumphs of these last two series slip slide away. Trounce the O's and give no quarter. Everyone contributes.
I just hope Gray doesn't throw another garbage outing again tonight. We haven't gotten anything out of him yet to justify him being here.
Adam Warren went three sharp innings at Trenton last night. When the next Yankees is put on the 25 man roster it sure looks as if Tyler Austin has played himself back into AAA.
If Warren is added I would think a pitcher would be dropped before Austin.
Thursday 5/31 7:05pm
Sonny Gray (R)
@ Orioles - Andrew Cashner (R)
1. Brett Gardner (L) LF
2. Aaron Judge (R) RF
3. Greg Bird (L) 1B
4. Giancarlo Stanton (R) DH
5. Didi Gregorius (L) SS
6. Aaron Hicks (S) CF
7. Neil Walker (S) 3B
8. Austin Romine (R) C
9. Gleyber Torres (R) 2B
Walker at 3B as Andujar sits tonight. Romine at C as Sanchez sits. Five lefty bats tonight.
The Yanks and us fans are do for some laugher games with us scoring many meaningless runs.
An eleven game road trip. 6-5 or better makes it a winning roadie. Lets go Yanks, wins are what takes teams to the playoffs.
Lets go Yankees.
Just play one game at a time and do the best you can to win. The only goal is to win enough games to make the playoffs. Then we move on from there.
Don't let up and don't let down. Wins!!
Major rain delay in Baltimore. If game not called, it's going to be a long night.
Game rained out. Now a three game series. Game will be made up on July 9th and will be part of a single admission double header starting at 4:00PM.
Rained out.
We try to play tonight. These forced days off are starting to mount and there are several double headers now scheduled down the road.
The rain last night gave the bullpen rest and everyone will be at full strength going forward. There are no days off for an extended stretch and there is a double header on Monday. All these games will test the starters, the bullpen, and the pitching depth. Can we overcome, yes we can, lets go Yankees.
Friday 6/1 7:05pm
Sonny Gray (R)
@ Orioles - Andrew Cashner (R)
1. Brett Gardner (L) LF
2. Aaron Judge (R) RF
3. Greg Bird (L) 1B
4. Giancarlo Stanton (R) DH
5. Didi Gregorius (L) SS
6. Aaron Hicks (S) CF
7. Neil Walker (S) 3B
8. Austin Romine (R) C
9. Gleyber Torres (R) 2B
Excellent work by Boone going with same lineup as last night.
Now we have a ten game road trip. Just take care of business.
Gray earning a win would be great tonight for him and the team. Then run off maybe 5 or 6 in a row.
The pitchers who have given us the most consistency have been out two home grown assets, Louie Louie and Monty.
Gray does what he does best. Puts Yankees down 1-0 after one giving up HR.
Yanks down 1-0 after 2.
Yankees load bases with no outs after tying game at 1 and then Judge, Bird, and Stanton all fail when it counts with a chance to blow the game open. What a shame.
Grayskies is afraid to challenge hitters until he is backed into a corner. Nobble nibble nibble. Throws too many pitches.
1-1 after 4.
Romine has been something special this season. Has 16 RBIs in just 20 games.
Gray has seemed to settle down and has looked batter these last few innings.
Yanks up 3-1 after 6.
Yanks lead 3-1 thru 6.
Gray goes six innings and the best was he walked no one for the first time this season. Green in for a shutout 7th and Yanks lead 4-1 after 7.
Betances in for the 8th and puts game in peril loading the bases before getting the final out of the inning. 4-1 Yanks thru 8.
Yankees win game one of this road trip. 4PM game tomorrow afternoon.
Final Yanks win 4-1.
Chapman has a 1,2,3 9th. Pleasant after Betances effort.
We had a pretty bad night producing when it counted most and so the game was much closer than it easily could have been. Still a win and that is what counts most.
Tanaka starts tomorrow game. It is a 4:00PM start. Lets win another.
After the first couple of innings Gray did seem to settle in. Now, if he can repeat this effort consistently.
Rain is forecast for the Baltimore area today and today's game may be affected. Let's hope for the best.
We don't need anymore rainouts. Too many double headers already on the horizon.
If there are rains, just score early and lead all the way. Then see what happens.
Don't forget that producing when it counts is not limited to the offense. The defense and pitchers need to produce when it counts also. Last night, even though Green and Betances created their own messes in the seventh and eighth innings they did produce when it mattered most and they left five Oriole runners on base and gave up no runs.
Saturday 6/2 4:05pm
Masahiro Tanaka (R)
@ Orioles - Kevin Gausman (R)
1. Brett Gardner (L) LF
2. Aaron Judge (R) RF
3. Greg Bird (L) 1B
4. Giancarlo Stanton (R) DH
5. Gary Sanchez (R) C
6. Didi Gregorius (L) SS
7. Aaron Hicks (S) CF
8. Miguel Andujar (R) 3B
9. Gleyber Torres (R) 2B
This is what may now be considered the Yankee go to lineup. Stanton really needs to produce from the cleanup spot.
Last nights game wasn't a laugher. The team could use a few this week.
Lets go Yankees.
The tarpaulin is on the field. Rain delay.
Game still on hold.
Yankees lead 4-2 after 3 on Andujar and Stanton 2 run HRs. Tanaka has given up 2 solo HRs.
Yanks up 4-2 after 4.
Tanaka gets relieved in the 6th after giving up 2 runs and men on base. Holdet works out of the jam. 6-4 Yankees after 6. No easy games.
Final 8-5 win. The win means we take this series and have a chance for a sweep tomorrow.
Yankees win 8-5. Take this series. German tomorrow to try for the sweep.
Lets go German. You are blooming and growing. Give us a beautiful flower and earn the win.
Could it be possible that the Yankee offense really cranks tomorrow and scores double digit runs?
German is still learning to trust his stuff and how to pitch and set up batters. He will be a good one when the light turns out, just like Louie Louie.
German, a day was named after you. Now go out and show them why. Lets go Yankees.
reinvaldez, love your post. Lets go Yankees.
I believe the Yankees are so strong because of the overall quality of their lineup and team in general. Every inning, the Yankee lineup can put pressure on a pitcher and score runs. There is no other team in baseball that can do this, several are close, but none have what the Yankees have.
Part of becoming an accomplished pitcher is learning to set up batters to swing at "YOUR" pitches. That will come with the aging process. To Germans' advantage he is learning from peers who have been there and done that in the majors now.
Several great observations and comments re: German and almost any young talented pitcher. What an advantage it is to teams to develop from within their own organization.
The biggest problem that baseball is now having and will only grow to be a bigger problem in the future is free agency. If a sensible resolution can be found to free agency the game will be better off and more teams will be better off and the fans will get a better product. If the players union doesn't like it they can rot in the cesspool they created.
yankeeforever, when an event that is perceived as good happens, all too many proponents of that event are elated. Then down the road we find out that the event has had a debilitating effect and things did not really turn out for the better.
Today's game has been canceled and has been rescheduled as the day game of what is now a day/night separate admission double header on Saturday August 25th.
The light in the darkness of rainouts. Monty will be back for the second half run and barring any injuries that will give us six pitchers and able to cope with the extra games.
German and Louie Louie now listed for the two games in Detroit tomorrow.
What a downer, I was really looking forward to todays game.
It is a day night doubleheader in Detroit tomorrow. 1 PM and 7 PM. Take two and get out of town.
Going back to what is hurting baseball. I think there is little question that the whole system is screwed up. The better teams pay the lousy owners with lousy teams just to show up for games. When the lousy owner of a lousy team develops a good player, they have to let him go because they can't pay him and the better teams keep getting better. The commissioner of baseball has been a jerk and still are for a very long time now.
The Yankees should be happy getting out of Baltimore and putting their feet on some dry land in Detroit.
Do not be surprised to see Sabathia pitch a real good game next time he starts.
Each rainout creates a day of double the fun.
No let down guys. Every game counts.
Take the doubleheader. Producing when it counts will carry the day.
Lets have some fun in Detroit today.
Louie Louie is listed to start the first game and German the night game.
Monday 6/4 1:10pm
Luis Severino (R)
@ Tigers - Drew VerHagen (R)
1. Aaron Hicks (S) CF
2. Aaron Judge (R) DH
3. Greg Bird (L) 1B
4. Giancarlo Stanton (R) RF
5. Didi Gregorius (L) SS
6. Miguel Andujar (R) 3B
7. Clint Frazier (R) LF
8. Austin Romine (R) C
9. Gleyber Torres (R) 2B
Frazier in LF. Sanchez out for day game, will catch tonight. Judge DH. Lets win game one.
Frazier gets another chance to impress.
Hope Frazier explodes with talent. That will give the Yankees a splendid chip if they desire to use it. Or it will give them another outfielder.
Lets roll. Lets win. Lets go Yankees.
German, do what Louie Louie does in the first game.
Yankees trail 1-0 after two.
7-1Yankees thru four.
Yankees 7-2 thru 6.
Louie Louie was brilliant again. Goes 8 complete innings, in command all game, and leaves with a 7-2 lead. Now the bullpen if needed will be fully loaded to help German in the night game. Add in the Yankees after scoring 6 in the 4th to take over the game, they did not waste any runs piling up meaningless runs.
Romine is unquestionably the best backup catcher in baseball and would be a starter quite a few MLB teams.
Final 7-4 win. Germans turn in three hours.
A very nice first game win.
Carl Hooks, and stat frauds are unquestionably the stupidest fans in baseball.
We gave up 2 9th inning runs with sloppy defense putting the first w batters on base when both should have been outs. Both scored but that was all. Good win.
Domingo German, bloom and grow kid. You too can be another Louie Louie. Yes you can.
Monday 6/4 7:10pm
Domingo German (R)
@ Tigers - Mike Fiers (R)
1. Brett Gardner (L) CF
2. Aaron Judge (R) RF
3. Gary Sanchez (R) C
4. Giancarlo Stanton (R) DH
5. Gleyber Torres (R) SS
6. Miguel Andujar (R) 3B
7. Neil Walker (S) 2B
8. Tyler Austin (R) 1B
9. Clint Frazier (R) LF
Didi and Bird out. Frazier in LF again. Stanton DH. Torres SS. Walker 2B. Austin 1B. Everybody plays on this team and we don't miss a beat. Lets go Yankees, take two.
What is amusing, the 8 and 9 batters tonight may be the worst of this season so far in any game. Many teams would love to have them.
Come on guys, get German a whole bunch of runs. Double digits.
Yanks down 1-0 after 2.
Yankees failing to produce when it counts over first four innings. The biggest being Judge and Austin both striking out with runner on third and less than two outs. That is two runs which should be very close to automatic.
Frazier poor defense gives Tigers a run in fourth.
Yanks down 3-1 after 4.
Yankees have now left the bases loaded twice this game and trail 3-2 mid sixth.
German goes 6 2/3 innings of very good work. Take that anytime. Yankees trail 4-2 after 7 and have shoot themselves in the foot repeatedly.
Yanks trailing 4-2 after 8 and have one more chance. They have played a very lackluster uninspired game so far tonight and have failed repeatedly to produce. They have had many a chance. But it ain't over yet.
Yanks go down 4-2. A very poor game.
Final 4-2 loss.
Doubleheader split = a wasted day. The bright spot was the way German pitched.
Onto Toronto. CC tomorrow.
If anyone feels a cool breeze blowing tonight, it is the wind from Aaron Judges swings today in Detroit striking out 8 yes eight times today. He needs to sit a few games.
Several observations. German after just five major league starts is coming along very well.
Frazier is a poor defensive outfielder. Producing when it counts wins baseball games and yes, nothing else matters. muchomachomans comment is very funny, but also sad to see a player on your team striking out five times in one game. Too many players are trying to hit home runs to many times. Too many players don't try to hit the ball to the opposite field.
A big lift if CC bounces back and wins tonight. The bats seem to have fallen asleep.
We can't expect the Yankees to win all the time. They will lose games, be it by making errors and giving away runs, be it by a very poorly pitched game, be it by the opposing pitcher pitching brilliantly, and or other combinations of reasons. Just need enough wins to get to the playoffs.
What bothers me is there have been so many defensive lapses by many players on this team. An error will be made by anyone, but errors caused by mental lapses is no acceptable in my opinion.
Talk about meaningless claptrap. How about statcast. How far, launch angle, exit velocity, all meaningless garbage preying on the ignorance of stat frauds.
Statcast is meaningless. A HR hit 450' has no more value than a HR hit 325'. It is exactly the same as a win. A win by 15 runs has no more value than a win by 1 run. The issues arise regarding stats because the frauds try to convince fans that the frauds stats have value and determine who they want to be the best. Sadly for them, only wins and winning has, does now, and will in the future determine the best.
Tuesday 6/5 7:07pm
CC Sabathia (L)
@ Blue Jays - Marco Estrada (R)
1. Brett Gardner (L) LF
2. Giancarlo Stanton (R) RF
3. Greg Bird (L) 1B
4. Gary Sanchez (R) C
5. Didi Gregorius (L) SS
6. Aaron Hicks (S) CF
7. Miguel Andujar (R) 3B
8. Tyler Austin (R) DH
9. Gleyber Torres (R) 2B
Judge on bench. Stanton in 2 hole. We need CC to pitch well and earn a win.
Please no more give-a-way games like last night.
Bad news. Jordan Montgomery is having Tommy John surgery this week and is likely out until mid 2019.
Game time. Lets go Yankees.
0-0 after 2.
No score thru three.
Torres the last couple of games seems to have adapted the Judge, Stanton, Sanchez swinging and missing and striking out at low outside pitches outside the strike zone.
The Yankees are playing some really rotten baseball tonight.
CC gives up 335 foot solo HR putting Yankees down 1-0 after six. Yes stat frauds, that HR has the same value as a 450 foot one.
Yanks down 1-0 after 6.
Yankee 7th. Bloop single, HBP, walk, Andujar grand slam for a 4-1 lead. After failing when it counts 15 consecutive times over the past two games, finally a hit when it matters.
CC goes 7 complete allowing just 3 hits, but 2 were solo HRs as Yanks up 4-2 after 7. Robertson likely for the 8th.
Right back in the dumpster as Sanchez K's with a man on third and less than 2 outs. That is now 3 different batters in the past 2 games who have K'd in this situation.
Final, 7-2 win after trailing 1-0 after six innings.
7-2 win and it wasn't an easy win. CC with a gem for the win.
This is just a two game series and we go for the sweep tomorrow with Sonny Gray? or Grayskies? starting.
Your turn tomorrow Gray. Do what CC did and you win.
Our 11 game road trip is now down to 9 games weather permitting and we are 4-1 with 4 games to play.
I guess with Monty gone for over a year the Yankees may be looking for a pitcher somewhere along the line this season.
With Monty going down we need Gray to step up big time more than ever.
I think that there are so many very talented players in baseball that achieve very gaudy individual stats that fans can get lost in the back and forth debating who are the best players of the best players. First, to be best of the best, a player MUST be able to help lead his team to the playoffs. The players who do that the most consistently are more highly rated. Wins and winning always define the best of the best. It is just not the stats of the individual.
No man (player) is an island, it takes all players on a team to make a team the best. All the players contributing when it matters most to win enough games to be considered amongst the best. Wins are the only stat that determines the best.
Larry Kennedy, I would think Cashman has been and is working on that. We have in house possibilities, there are trade possibilities, but Cashman and the Yankees have all the information and we have little to none. Stat frauds look at false numbers and say the Yankees should do this or that. The stat frauds are the last on any list to ever listen to or take advice from.
WIN METHOD is always nearby when needed when it comes to players and the Yankee need.
Wednesday 6/6 7:07pm
Sonny Gray (R)
@ Blue Jays - Sam Gaviglio (R)
1. Brett Gardner (L) CF
2. Aaron Judge (R) RF
3. Greg Bird (L) 1B
4. Giancarlo Stanton (R) LF
5. Gary Sanchez (R) DH
6. Didi Gregorius (L) SS
7. Miguel Andujar (R) 3B
8. Austin Romine (R) C
9. Gleyber Torres (R) 2B
Romine at C. Sanchez DH. This is one scary lineup if they stop swinging wildly.
Lets go guys. Win this game and series and then head back to home.
Everyone is out to beat the Yankees. As Yankees you have to play a little bit harder all the time. Win and prove your the best. Only wins and winning determine the best.
These are the games we should win if we concentrate and don't take the game for granted. Lets go Yankees.
As fans I take many of us look at who we playing and who is pitching for the opposition and who is pitching for us and our lineup and come to the conclusion that there is no reason for losing the game. That is not good. The game is played on the field not on paper or our minds.
Don't ever fall in with the stat frauds and their imbecilic ideas about baseball.
The Mets series is three games in Queens. Do not take the Mets fro granted, they are better than their record suggests right now and they will be looking to take down their crosstown rivals.
0-0 after 2.
0-0 after 4.
We have a real pitchers duel tonight. Scoreless after 4 and both pitchers dominating so far.
0-0 after 6.
Still no score after seven innings. Come on guys. Don't waste Grays game.
No score after 8 and unless the Yankees score Gray will get a no decision pitching his best game as a Yankee. Eight scoreless innings giving up just 2 hits.
Extra innings as both teams have been unable to score a run.
Nine complete innings in 2 hours and 10 minutes. Just 5 hits total for both teams.
Andujar leads off 10th with double. Romine K's. Torres fly out to center. Gardner line out to left. Three fails when it mattered. UGH!
Another scoreless inning. Onto the 11th.
Judge leads off 11th looking at 3rd strike. Bird foul out fly to left. Stanton walks. Stanton moves to second on wild pitch. Stanton moves to third on wild pitch. Sanchez strikes out on a pitch that bounces in front of home plate. Another fail when it mattered.
Betances in for the 11th. Retires the side. We go to the 12th. How about a run guys.
Robertson come on for the 13th and puts Jays down 1,2,3.
13 innings on no run baseball and a total of 8 hits between both teams.
Judge 2 run HR and Stanton solo HR put Yanks up 3-0 in 13th. Chapman coming in for the save.
Final 13 inning 3-0 win for the Yankees. Come on home guys.
We don't make our wins easy.
Off day tomorrow. Our big relievers all got work tonight without being extended. All hands on board for the Mets series.
The Mets are lying in wait with DeGrom, Matz, and Syndergaard all looking to take us down.
Some very interesting numbers/stats from the Yankee/Blue Jay two game series.
1.The teams played 22 full innings with each team having 22 innings to try to score
equalling 44 half innings.
2.The Yankees scored 3 times in their 22 chances and the Blue Jays scored 2 times in their
22 chances.
3.All runs were scored by home runs. Not a single run was scored in any other manner.
4.The Blue Jays scored on 2 solo home runs. The Yankees scored on 1 solo home run, 1 two
run home run, 1 three run home run, and 1 grand slam home run.
5.Baseball is being ruined by stat frauds and meaningless stats. Fans heads are being filled with garbage, spin rate, exit velocity, exit angle, how far, range factor, and other meaningless crap.
Ah, miss the days of "butcher boy" chopping down when swinging to hit the baseball on the ground to move a runner, hitting behind runners, bunting, breaking up the double play, "close shave" pitching high and inside, sharpened spikes, no steroids.
Off day today and then the three game series with the Mets at Citi Field. Tanaka, German, and Louie Louie going for the Yankees.
The desired final result of every game is to win. How you get that result can be accomplished so many different astronomical ways. Today's baseball managers are not as wise as the managers in the past. There heads are being filled with stat garbage.
bigbadwolf, Here is a response you made to me in a post a made to you on the now floundering baseballfever site.
""Having the will to do something in a situation that may be best for the team while giving up a chance to pad your stats.""
It took me to the WIN METHOD blog and I am here to stay. This is real intelligent baseball.
yankeeclipper, doing something best to help the team win says it all.
This is my view. Any time a left handed batter come to bat and the defense shifts and there is only one infielder midway between second base and third base I would have the batter bunt every single time up no matter who it was.
The subway series is a nice event for NY, but as a team all we need to concentrate on is one game at a time and win the series.
Jeff Miller, Those stat you posted show a great deal of futility on the part of both teams. However, proving yet again how meaningless stat can be. The desired result is wins and we won both games.
Chad Copely, I agree with you on wins being what matters. My post, as you stated, do show how meaningless stats are and over a career stats are only an average of what any player achieved over his career. It still comes down to wins and winning in defining who is best.
The Yankee lineup will need to bring their A-game against DeGrom tomorrow night and leave their fishing bats behind.
Just a quick update. I am very pleased with the players the Yankees drafted these past two days. A couple of the youngsters will do very well as they bloom and grow.
Thanks WIN METHOD.
A new crop of bloom and growers. Some of which were selected by the best talent evaluation tool in the world. Lets go Yankees.
I would love to see, and maybe it is to much to ask, the team play at its very best with all players contributing consistently for a 30 game stretch. Likely at least a 24-6 record or better?
We will need a very good start from Tanaka tonight to keep us alive against DeGrom. DeGrom will be a good test for our lineup.
As of now there is no question that German is our fifth starter. What a great opportunity he has to bloom and grow at the major league level.
This is just another series in out schedule. Do the best we can and move on, win, lose, or draw.
Big day for NYC. Yankees/Mets game and the Belmont Stakes tomorrow.
Friday 6/8 7:10pm
Masahiro Tanaka (R)
@ Mets - Jacob deGrom (R)
1. Brett Gardner (L) CF

Aargh! Forgot the inferior league still has the pitcher batting. national league = bush league.
Guy, the national league is really only a stepping stone between AAA and the American League, the best league in the world. Lets win tonight guys and help put the Mets out of their misery.
If most of the Yankee lineup, not all, stop swinging for the fences all the time and just drive the ball where it is pitched, they would score more runs and even though they are winning most of their games, maybe win a few more.
Noah Syndergaard will not pitch Sunday's game for the Mets. Still and issue with his finger.
Really doesn't make any difference, he wouldn't have beaten Louie Louie.
Maybe our guys will raise their game tonight considering they will have to beat one of the best pitchers in baseball.
Lets go Yankees.
Tanaka gives up HR to lead off hitter.
