Yes WIN METHOD fans, you have spoken, therefore the title of this blog post. BLOOM AND GROW. As 2016 nears its end, and the baseball winter meetings are held where deals are talked about and some consummated, and as the 2016 year concludes with the Christmas holidays, and the new 2017 year arrives and it will be a season for the New York YANKEES to BLOOM AND GROW.
After a couple of recent seasons of not making the playoffs, getting older as a team, disappointing the fans, dropping attendance, and overall down years, the YANKEES look like they may be going full bore at getting younger with many of their WIN METHOD selected youngsters being given a real chance to make the major league roster, make the team younger, make the team a contender more consistently and winning the World Series again. Time for the farm to bloom and grow.
The list of YANKEE prospects is very promising. Likely not all will make the major leagues, some may be traded away for a piece the YANKEE decision makers feel they need for a certain position. The best part however is they will all get the chance to bloom and grow and some will make a major impact on the YANKEE team this 2017 season as Gary Sanchez has done already in the last seven weeks of the 2016 season, apparently earning the starting catcher job for the 2017 season. Look for these names in 2017 and beyond, outfielders Clint Frazier, Aaron Judge, Blake Rutherford, Dustin Fowler, Billy McKinney, Mason Williams, Jake Cave, Trey Amburgery, and Leonardo Molina. Infielders Gleyber Torres, Jorge Mateo, Miguel Andujar, Wilkerman Garcia, Tyler Wade, Hoy Jun Park, and Kyle Holder. Catchers Luis Torrens, and Donny Sands. Pitchers Justus Sheffield, Domingo Acevedo, James Kaprielian, Albert Abreu, Dillon Tate, Chance Adams, Ian Clarkin, Drew Finley, Jordan Montgomery, Chad Green, Dietrich Enns, and Freicer Perez.
Do not forget, Greg Bird returning in 2017 after missing 2016 with major shoulder surgery, other youngsters who have been placed on the 40 man roster or have seen some major league experience, Johnny Barbato, Richard Bleier, Giovanny Gallegos, Domingo German, Nick Goody, Ben Heller, Ronald Herrera, Johnaton Holder, Brian Mitchell, Yefrey Ramirez, Luis Severino, Kyle Higashioka, Rob Refsnyder and Tyler Austin. There are so many with so much potential.
Some of these guys will become big names, some lesser names but yet accomplished major leaguers, some roll players that help make the team as best it can be,and some dealt away. Bloom and grow. We wish them all healthy and fruitful careers wherever their career takes them.
Also, look forward to a very special day in 2017. Mark your calendars, Sunday, mothers day, May 14th against the Houston Astros, the YANKEES will retire the greatest ever WIN METHOD players number 2 Derek Jeter. May the YANKEES be so blesses that as the youngsters bloom and grow we have another in the mold of Derek Jeter, the best and greatest major league baseball player in the past three decades.
Never forget that wins and winning always defines the best players and teams in the real world while individual stats and make believe made up formulas created by the foolish stat frauds are only for their fantasy games and fantasy world.
LETS GO YANKEES! BLOOM AND GROW

«Oldest ‹Older 1001 – 1200 of 1611 Newer› Newest»What if???? Hicks, Pineda, Severino, all see the light and put their act together this season.
Doug Shoen, that would be a God send.
Baseball is a simple game. Likely that could be said for most sports to some degree. But baseball has much one on one play than the other sports. Never the less, the players who produce when it counts the most for any team will win the most the become the best. How much, or how many any player achieves for himself in nothing compared to what all players achieve for their team to win.
Warren, the best part is the production when it counts can come from and combination of players and or events. Hitting, pitching, fielding, base running, in any combination. The team of players that produce when it counts the most in any game win. The more you win the better you are.
Right on guys. No individual stats, just WIN METHOD team results. Producing when it counts.
Two days until first spring training game this Friday.
Derek Jeter has been meeting with and talking to many of the Yankee youngsters this spring. Great counter to the cancer afraud.
http://www.nj.com/yankees/index.ssf/2017/02/yankees_spring_training_8_things_we_learned_today.html
Note the picture of afraud who is in camp for 3 days as instructor. No one is near him. Looks like we have smart youngsters coming up the ranks.
bigbadwolf, that has to be a joke. There is no one near him. What a waste.
That should be about how much influence afraud has. None.
Rain in Tampa today curtailing workouts.
The rain makes things bloom and grow.
I see two pitchers went down for 2-3 weeks with arm injuries. No big names, but nonetheless tough for those guys.
Lets go Yankees.
One day left. Tomorrow we are scheduled to play our first spring training game in Tampa against the Philadelphia Phillies. Bloom and grow.
Here is a noteworthy view of Derek Jeter and how important he is with the youngsters. Truly WIN METHOD............
Spring training for the Yankees also means that it’s time for Captain’s Camp. The captain himself, Derek Jeter, takes the younger Yankees out for dinner and asks them to ask him questions. The camp is meant to teach the younger players about all the responsibilities they have as professional athletes, both on-and-off the field. If there were anyone to teach players how to avoid controversy on-and-off the field, it’s Derek Jeter. Do it his way, youth movement.
It looks like Bryan Mitchell is listed to start tomorrows first game. If he has the spring he had last year before he broke his foot, he could make the starting rotation. If not he will start in AAA and dominate there.
sid, Thank you for that piece. There is no better face of baseball to follow than that of Jeter. The greatest ballplayer of his generation. A model citizen. Character second to none.
sid greenberg,nyc..johnsondc..yankeeclipper21.. I agree with all three of your posts. Good stuff.
Would love to see Mitchell throw two perfect innings tomorrow. Set the bar high Bryan.
The fun of a highly competitive spring training is about to begin. Let the best producers when it counts win.
Lets go Yankees.
Remember guys. Yes we can.
We play our first spring training game today in about an hour and a half. Bird, Judge, Sanchez all in lineup. Mitchell starting pitcher.
Todays lineup.
Friday 2/24 1:05pm
Bryan Mitchell (R)
vs. Phillies - Alec Asher (R)
1. Brett Gardner (L) CF
2. Didi Gregorius (L) SS
3. Gary Sanchez (R) C
4. Matt Holliday (R) DH
5. Greg Bird (L) 1B
6. Starlin Castro (R) 2B
7. Chase Headley (S) 3B
8. Aaron Hicks (S) LF
9. Aaron Judge (R) RF
Solid lineup. Ellsbury out likely because he got to camp late because his wife was having a baby. Nice to have someone like Hicks available to fill in. Holiday makes a very nice DH compared to the garbage we have had there in afraud. How many teams can put a talent like Judge in the nine hole.
BLOOM AND GROW!
Didi with a no doubter first inning HR.
jimbo, You called it. Mitchell with two perfect innings to start the game. The bar is set.
Clippard in for a perfect third inning.
Layne with a perfect fourth.
Cessa with a perfect fifth. Then Judge hits a gigantic blast for a home run in fifth.
Cessa goes a second inning and throws another perfect inning. that is now six 1,2,3 innings from four Yankee pitchers. Who will crack first.
Montgomery in for the seventh. Phillies get first base runner as Gleyber Torres at short showboats an easy grounder by backhanding it (a ball that he easily should have been in front of) then throws wildly to first for the error. Montgomery then give up first hit followed by a second hit. Montgomery then pitches out of the inning even after another Yankee error, allowing just the two runs and two hits.
Montgomery come out to pitch another inning and get Phillies 1,2,3. That is 7 of 8 1,2,3 innings for Yankee pitchers.
Gallegos pitched the ninth for Yanks and gets hit hard allowig two HRs. The only Yankees pitcher that looked bad today.
Many good looking youngsters in game one of spring training.
Nice hard hit HR from 3rd catcher Higgy. I won't try to spell his name without looking it up.
Warren starts tomorrow.
Just show what you have youngsters. Your turn will come. Bloom and grow.
Todays lineup.
I love all the youngsters in for today. should be fun to watch.
Saturday 2/25 1:05pm
Adam Warren (R)
@ Phillies - Adam Morgan (L)
1. Ronald Torreyes (R) 2B
2. Austin Romine (R) C
3. Greg Bird (L) 1B
4. Chris Carter (R) DH
5. Aaron Judge (R) RF
6. Clint Frazier (R) LF
7. Miguel Andujar (R) 3B
8. Gleyber Torres (R) SS
9. Dustin Fowler (L) CF
Love the lineup today. this is what spring training is about. For the Yankees to bloom and grow.
Warren with a strong two innings. Six up six down.
Enns in for third. Looks good but allows an unearned run on shoddy defensive throwing error.
Enns second inning allows solo HR.
Torres socks two doubles so far. Hard ground ball down third base line and a line drive to right field corner. Hits the ball where it is pitched. Then scores from second base on a wild pitch. Instincts like a WIN METHOD gem.
Camerena comes in to pitch fifth inning and goes 3 up 3 down.
Camerena comes out to pitch a second inning and gets hammered including a hard HR.
Heller in for the seventh and strikes out the side.
Holder pitcher the 8th and goes 1,2,3 with 2 Ks.
Joe Mantiply in for the 9th in a 5-5 tie. Allows double and single for the loss. Mantiply showed little.
Mostly positives after 2 games so far. Keep it going.
I think Louie Louie starts todays game.
Severino can only lose a rotation spot by his failure to perform this spring. Time to bloom and grow Louie.
Glen, it is Louie Louie today.
Sunday 2/26 1:05pm
Luis Severino (R)
vs. Blue Jays - Brett Oberholtzer (L)
1. Brett Gardner (L) LF
2. Jacoby Ellsbury (L) CF
3. Gary Sanchez (R) C
4. Matt Holliday (R) DH
5. Didi Gregorius (L) SS
6. Chris Carter (R) 1B
7. Starlin Castro (R) 2B
8. Chase Headley (S) 3B
9. Aaron Hicks (S) RF
Ellsbury in for first time. Great to see both Gardner and Ellsbury at top of the order.
Bird and Judge not starting. It is spring training folks.
Louie Louie starts the spring with two shutout innings allowing just one walk.
Castro with a 3 run HR.
Barbato throws 2 scoreless innings allowing a couple of walks.
Gurka with a shutout inning in the 5th.
Lail gives up 2 run HR in 6th. First runs given up by Yankee pitching today.
Feyereisen goes a scoreless inning.
Feyereisen throw a second scoreless inning. Throws hard and looks like could be a strong bullpen asset.
Feyereisen goes a 2nd scoreless inning/
Graham closes out game with a scoreless 1,2,3 ninth.
There is little doubt the Yankees have a boat load of talented youngsters. Producing under pressure will be the make or break definer.
It is so nice seeing the Yankee young players starting off so well this season.
Ben Rosen...I have always been a fan of you.
Monday 2/27 1:05pm
Chad Green (R)
@ Orioles - Ubaldo Jimenez (R)
1. Aaron Hicks (S) LF
2. Austin Romine (R) C
3. Greg Bird (L) DH
4. Aaron Judge (R) RF
5. Rob Refsnyder (R) 1B
6. Ruben Tejada (R) 2B
7. Miguel Andujar (R) 3B
8. Dustin Fowler (L) CF
9. Jorge Mateo (R) SS
Bloom and grow.
Half the lineup is bloom and grow crop.
Chad Greens turn to stay even with the bar. Needs two scoreless innings at minimum.
Green goes two scoreless innings allowing a single with runner thrown out at second base by Judge trying to stretch. So, six up six down.
Rutcky goes one inning giving up a solo HR.
Gallegos goes two very strong innings allowing just one walk, even though being squeezed by umpire. Looks really good.
Marsh 2 innings, Maniply 1 inning and Haynes 1 inning all shutout innings close out game for Yankees. Rookie Estrada with 3 run HR in 9th the big hit of game.
We have guys contributing that aren't even on the 40 man roster.
I don't know if it's just me, but the Yankees seem to have so much talent coming along.
The pitchers, one after another are excelling.
The Yankees play split squad games tomorrow. One at home against the Tigers with Tanaka starting. The other away against Boston with Cessa starting.
Stanley Chin, It isn't just you, the Yankees are loaded with young bloom and grow talent.
What is scary is we have the quality players to play split squad games at a very high level.
Usually the veterans stay at home to play split squad games while the youngsters get on the bus for the away game.
No TV coverage of todays Yankee games.
This is todays lineup for the road game against the bosux.
Tuesday 2/28 1:05pm
Luis Cessa (R)
@ Red Sox - Kyle Kendrick (R)
1. Ronald Torreyes (R) 2B
2. Rob Refsnyder (R) LF
3. Greg Bird (L) 1B
4. Aaron Judge (R) RF
5. Kyle Higashioka (R) C
6. Miguel Andujar (R) 3B
7. Dustin Fowler (L) CF
8. Ji-Man Choi (L) DH
9. Tyler Wade (L) SS
And this is todays lineup for the home game against the Tigers.
Tuesday 2/28 1:05pm
Masahiro Tanaka (R)
vs. Tigers - Daniel Norris (L)
1. Brett Gardner (L) LF
2. Jacoby Ellsbury (L) CF
3. Gary Sanchez (R) C
4. Matt Holliday (R) DH
5. Chris Carter (R) 1B
6. Starlin Castro (R) 2B
7. Chase Headley (S) 3B
8. Aaron Hicks (S) RF
9. Ruben Tejada (R) SS
Note: Didi Gregorius is not at shortstop because he is participating in the farce called the world baseball classic.
No Clint Frazier in either lineup???
Bird hits a long 2 run HR in 1st inning.
Tanaka goes two scoreless hitless innings against the Tigers.
Cessa tagged for 2 runs in 2 innings against the bosux.
Sanchez with a 2 run homer in 3rd.
Carter with HR.
Greg with second HR of day, a solo shot to opposite field. Sweet.
Chance Adams with his first outing of spring throws two scoreless innings. Justus Sheffield now in for his first outing.
Sheffield gives up solo HR in his first inning of work.
Layne, Heller, Shreve all with one scoreless inning today.
candycane & Sal Mineo...thank you for your effort is supplying updates today.
Frazier with a 2 out 2 run double as a pinch hitter for an 8-0 Yankee lead after 5.
Gleyber Torres with another error on a routine DP ball putting Sheffield in hole 2 on 1 out. He can hit but his fielding so far has been worse than pathetic.
Sheffield gets strike out for second out but reaches pitch count and is being relieved.
Gurka comes in to get 3rd out via K. Torres is bailed out.
Gardner 2 for 3 today and Ellsbury 0 for 1 with 2 walks. That's getting on base for the boppers.
Holder gives up 3 hits in 7th, the last a HR allowing 3 runs.
Torres with an rbi single in 8th for a 5-3 lead. He sure can hit.
Holder then allows solo HR is taken out. Not a good outing.
Estrada with a HR today in 7th. Second of spring.
Coshow goes a 1,2,3 ninth for Yanks. Final Yanks 9 Tigers 5.
Yankees get 5-4 win over sux also. Bird 2 HRs and 3 rbis.
Torres has made two errors so far, both on easy ground balls. He just can;t be as bad as he has shown. Just a spring glitch I hope.
The good contact by so many of our young bloom and growers is amazing and really makes me smile and have high hope for this season and many more down the road.
First spring night game tomorrow.
Thank you candycane and Sal. I just kept my PC on the blog and you kept me updated with all I needed to know.
Mitchell listed to make his second start tomorrow. Three innings or more?
Bloom and grow Bryan.
Game is listed for 6:30PM tonight with Bryan Mitchell starting against the Atlanta Braves.
Looks like there is a heck of a lot WIN METHOD blooming and growing going on.
I can't wait to see tonight lineup and watch the game. So exciting this team.
Hear hear, Steve and Teena.
These ten Yankees are going to the wbc.
Dominican Republic: Dellin Betances, Luis Severino
Canada: Kellin Deglan
Colombia: Tito Polo, Donovan Solano
Israel: Richard Bleier
Italy: Tommy Layne
Mexico: Gio Gallegos
Netherlands: Didi Gregorius
USA: Tyler Clippard
Hope no one gets injured, but I guess they have just as much chance of getting injured in regular spring training.
Ten guys wasting time at the wbc just gives the guys in camp more playing time.
Tonights lineup not posted yet.
I don't think it makes any difference who plays. We have so much talent all over.
Wednesday 3/1 6:35pm
Bryan Mitchell (R)
vs. Braves - Jaime Garcia (L)
1. Brett Gardner (L) LF
2. Jacoby Ellsbury (L) CF
3. Starlin Castro (R) 2B
4. Matt Holliday (R) DH
5. Chris Carter (R) 1B
6. Chase Headley (S) 3B
7. Austin Romine (R) C
8. Aaron Judge (R) RF
9. Ronald Torreyes (R) SS
Girardi must have fun putting the batting order together.
Ellsbury pounds solo HR in first.
Mitchell really looks good.
Mitchell with three innings of no hit ball. R O T A T I O N
Betances with a scoreless inning.
Yankee lineup continues to hit. Up 8-0 after 6.
The one area that has been lacking so far this spring is defense. Most of the errors have been on throws. An area that needs to be addressed.
The 8 run lead is now a 1 run lead after 8. A couple of minor relievers getting lit up for 3 home runs.
Camarena pitches a struggling 9th inning but get 3rd out for save. 8-7 win in a no count game.
Another night game tonight with Warren starting.
Warren starts tonight trying for a rotation spot but I can't see him beating out Mitchell.
If Severino and Mitchell win 4 and 5 spots that leaves the Yankees with about 5 other starting capable pitchers. Worst is there is no reason to trade any of them for a piece because we have pieces for every position in the organization within a year or 2.
Steve, well said. We will probably have to trade someone or two however, or risk losing them for various reasons.
Game tonight is against the Orioles.
Who will play and where will they bat. It doesn't make any difference, we are the best. Lets go Yankees. Bloom and grow.
Thursday 3/2 6:35pm
Adam Warren (R)
vs. Orioles - Tyler Wilson (R)
1. Aaron Hicks (S) RF
2. Gary Sanchez (R) C
3. Greg Bird (L) 1B
4. Matt Holliday (R) DH
5. Starlin Castro (R) 2B
6. Chase Headley (S) 3B
7. Rob Refsnyder (R) LF
8. Clint Frazier (R) CF
9. Gleyber Torres (R) SS
Everyday, there are different names in different spots and it really doesn't make any difference who is in nor where they are in the lineup.
How about the 8 and 9 hitters.
Interesting, the O's are starting a righty and the Girardi is countering with 6 right handed bats, 1 left handed bat and 2 switch hitters.
Just pound Oriole pitchers tonight and keep the blooming and growing going.
Game time.
Holiday with a solo HR in 2nd.
Warren gives up first hit and run of spring on solo HR. Line tonight 3 innings 1 run 1 hit.
After two spring games 5 innings 1 run 1 hit.
Chapman makes first appearance of spring and throws 1,2,3 inning.
Bird hits massive 2 run HR after Sanchez double. A looooooooooong home run.
Clippard with an easy 1,2,3 inning.
Layne goes a 1,2,3 inning.
Enns with a 1,2,3 inning. This is getting monotonous.
McKinney with a 2 run home run.
Enns works a 2nd inning allows a walk and a scorers hit (should have been scored an error) but no runs.
Scorer changes mind and rules error instead of hit so Enns goes 2 scoreless and hitless innings.
Gallegos closes out game but allows a single and HBP in 9th. Final 8-1.
So far so good this spring. All I can say is WOW!
WIN METHOD rules. WIN METHOD rules the player evaluation world. WIN METHOD is the best.
Friday 3/3 1:07pm
Luis Severino (R)
@ Blue Jays - Francisco Liriano (L)
1. Brett Gardner (L) LF
2. Jacoby Ellsbury (L) CF
3. Aaron Judge (R) RF
4. Chris Carter (R) DH
5. Austin Romine (R) C
6. Rob Refsnyder (R) 1B
7. Donovan Solano (R) 3B
8. Jorge Mateo (R) SS
9. Pete Kozma (R) 2B
Louie Louie this afternoon. Bloom and grow Louie.
I hope Girardi sticks with Gardner and Ellsbury 1 and 2 for the season with slight variations for a day off for each player or special pitcher matchups.
Looks like the third level infield today.
Not to bring up a negative. But an injury to a player will not be as big a hurt as in the past because of this teams deep depth.
Louie Louie has his chance to match Mitchell and Warren with his second outing today.
Louie Louie gives up 2 run HR in first after a walk but also Ks 3.
Refsynder has looked terrible at bat this spring and now makes a throwing error at first base.
Severino relieved in 3rd after reaching pitch count with one out and allowing 2 singles. Gives up four hits in 2 1/3 innings. Not a solid outing. Barbato gets last 2 outs stranding runners.
Barbato, Graham, Rutcky all in relief putting up goose eggs.
After not scoring all game, the Yankee rookies score 2 runs in 9th to tie game at 2.
Joe Mantiply allows HR in 9th and Yankees go down 3-2.
You can't win them all.
Pineda makes his first spring appearance tomorrow.
After Pineda that will leave CC as the only starter without a spring appearance. Think he is listed for next week.
Lets see what Pineda has to offer this season.
I hope the Yankee pitching coach and a shrink were working with Pineda for the last two weeks getting him ready for the season. We will find out one way or the other.
Rahm Mahood, I think the 'shrink' part is his biggest issue.
Louie Louie gave up four hits ans one walk while getting just seven outs yesterday and left down 2-0. Not good and in my view not acceptable. But it is spring training.
So far Mitchell is far ahead in effective pitching.
Saturday 3/4 1:05pm
Michael Pineda (R)
@ Tigers - Jordan Zimmermann (R)
1. Aaron Hicks (S) RF
2. Gary Sanchez (R) C
3. Greg Bird (L) 1B
4. Chris Carter (R) DH
5. Starlin Castro (R) 2B
6. Chase Headley (S) 3B
7. Ronald Torreyes (R) SS
8. Clint Frazier (R) LF
9. Dustin Fowler (L) CF
The lineup merry-go-round is going strong.
Pineda with 2 scoreless innings and 5 K's. Good start.
Sanchez and Hicks each with 2 run HR's.
Betances a scoreless inning and Green one inning 3 hits and a run. Yanks up 5-1 after 4.
Yankee bats pounding Tiger pitchers unmercifully.
The baseball world better watch out because the Yanks are coming.
Heller, Holder, and Shreve all with shutout innings. 11-1 Yanks after 8.
Gallegos with a 2 strikeout scoreless ninth.
Tanaka makes his second start tomorrow.
We likely won't win the World Series every season or sadly any season, but we will be very competitive for many seasons to come going to the playoffs and beyond because of all WIN METHOD does.
No body does player evaluation better than WIN METHOD.
It is Tanaka today against the Pirates.
Hope Pineda yesterday is not an aberration.
Reading where so many stat frauds hate Hicks and want him off the team. since we know the stat frauds are generally ignorant regarding real world baseball, Hicks is likely a valuable piece for the Yankees right now.
Sunday 3/5 1:05pm
Masahiro Tanaka (R)
vs. Pirates - Jameson Taillon (R)
1. Brett Gardner (L) LF
2. Jacoby Ellsbury (L) CF
3. Matt Holliday (R) DH
4. Chris Carter (R) 1B
5. Aaron Judge (R) RF
6. Austin Romine (R) C
7. Ronald Torreyes (R) 3B
8. Ruben Tejada (R) SS
9. Gleyber Torres (R) 2B
Tanaka throws three scoreless innings.
Layne and Chapman with scoreless innings.
Steve, the stat frauds are usually fantasy players and do not know real baseball. Most are obsessed with stats and without stats are totally unable to judge baseball players.
Clippard with a scoreless inning. Adams pitches into big trouble and gets out allowing just one run. Good outcome after walking the first two men and an rbi single to the third. Then gets the side out stranding runner on third with no outs. Yankees up 2-1 after 7.
Cessa has to work but throws a scoreless eighth inning.
Cessa stays in for ninth. Fowler/Frazier cf/lf misplay fly into triple costing a run but Yankees win 3-2.
I was very impressed with Chance Adams today. He hurt himself by walking the first two hitters, than he induced what would have been a DP grounder but it was deflected for a hit, a run, men on first the third, no one out. Then he pitched out of the jam without allowing another run.
Victor....I agree, anytime a pitcher can limit damage in that kind of situation, it shows acumen.
Mitchell makes third start tomorrow. A four inning outing??? CC makes first start Tuesday.
Lets go guys, so far so good.
Monday 3/6 1:05pm
Bryan Mitchell (R)
@ Pirates - Ivan Nova (R)
1. Brett Gardner (L) LF
2. Jacoby Ellsbury (L) CF
3. Starlin Castro (R) 2B
4. Greg Bird (L) 1B
5. Chase Headley (S) 3B
6. Aaron Judge (R) DH
7. Aaron Hicks (S) RF
8. Austin Romine (R) C
9. Jorge Mateo (R) SS
We get to face our old buddy Ivan Nova today.
I haven't come up with a clear gauge on Mateo yet. I like his fielding best. No question he has speed. Desire seems to be there. Didn't like his bat flip, even if it should have been a home run the other night. Lets see how he blooms and grows.
Mitchell finally has a bad inning. After a 1,2,3 first inning, Mitchell gives up 3 runs in the second. Did not pitch poorly, but some some seeing eye hits did him in.
Mitchell tagged for a solo HR to start third inning, then get a K then relieved. Likely on a pitch count.
Montgomery in and getting hit hard for 3rd time. Yankees down 6-1 after 5.
It was bound to happen. The Yankee pitchers from start to finish have been throwing batting practice today. Yanks down 13-1 after 7. Games like this are what skews stats and make them meaningless.
