WIN METHOD --- 2023 SEASON -- FINAL RUN TO THE PLAYOFFS WHERE ONLY THE BEST TEAMS AND BEST PLAYERS PLAY

Less than half the season to play.  So much to be decided.   Many teams vying for playoff positions in each league.  Three divisions in each league, each division winner makes the playoffs and then the next three teams with the best win/loss records also make the playoffs.  Only WINS determines which teams go to the playoffs.  WINS are the only statistic which determines the best teams and the best players.

The YANKEES are one of the teams in the chase at this point in the season.  The YANKEES, the team with the most player time lost to injuries, by a very large margin, over any other team in MLB.  No question, every team has player injuries and loses players for periods of time, but no other team has had as many players injured and missed games as the YANKEES.

What are the YANKEE chances of making the playoffs with about seventy games yet to play?  We will find out over the two and a half months.  If some of the key injured players can return and contribute, that would make a difference. As with every team, it will be determined only by WINS.  I believe if the YANKEES make the playoffs, will have a very good chance at advancing through the playoffs and winning the WORLD SERIES.   I bet none of the teams vying for the playoffs are giving up, the players on those teams are not giving up, and the WIN METHOD YANKEE fans are not giving up, because when you give up, you give yourself no chance at all.  It has been said many times, by many posters, the YANKEES will play over, under, around and thru any and all obstacles and roadblocks thrown in front of them.

It has been great to see YANKEE STADIUM filled with fans each game during this season, games have always been pretty nor turned out well for YANKEE fans and more so for the team.  Don't give up, with enough WINS the YANKEES can still make the playoffs.  If they do. watch out for them in the playoffs.  Stay positive and say it often LETS GO YANKEES.

I would like to express by sincere thanks for all you fans who read and post here on the WIN METHOD blog.  You all have made it the greatest forum, blog, or site for YANKEE fans in the world.  In just several days this blog will reach over one billion six hundred million views. Thank you all for being the greatest fans and most knowledgeable fans in the world.

Torres RBI double and solo HR. Judge a solo HR and Cabrera with a big when it matters most two RBI single for the Yankee runs. Good start to this four game series.

I believe President Biden is in direct violation of his oath of office by allowing practically unfettered access to our southern border; by not better protecting the border , he has opened a path for criminals, terrorists and agents of foreign countries who want to destroy the United States and will kill Americans. This is a direct violation of the Constitution, and acts of impeachment should be issued by the House of Representatives.

Biden should be tried by the Senate and, when found guilty, removed from office and arrested for treason. All of those in his administration who are involved in his border policies should be arrested for aiding and abetting. If found guilty of treason, they should face a firing squad, the same punishment our military members would face if convicted of treason.

John T. Watson

Grosner said...

John T Watson, the problem is a) there is definitely NOT unfettered access across our southern border and b) Trump has claimed multiple times in recent months that he FINISHED the wall. So two things possible here: wall doesn't work or Trump is a liar. Which one is it?

Earl Lennon said...

John T. Watson, you nailed it. They are all guilty and punished as described, and do it live publicly.

Ursala Pei said...

John T. Watson, the worst of this is the joe-bama/commie MALADY administration continues to run the country and destroy America a little more each day. But President Trump and several of his supporters are jailed and or going to trials on meaningless and unwarranted charges that none of them actually committed.

No question, the joe-bama/commie MALADY administration needs to be wiped out.

James Douglas said...

Grosner, you are the liar and fraud. You mince words, and claim what people say/believe which are not true.

John T. Watson stated and I quote, "by allowing practically unfettered access to our southern border; by not better protecting the border." You stated and I quote, "there is definitely NOT unfettered access across our southern border." Conclusion: you lied about what John T. stated.

The same goes for what Trump stated. He never said the wall was finished entirely.

Please stop with your nonsense, it is wearing thin.

Carla Sherwin said...

James Douglas, Trump, if I remember correctly did say the wall was finished, however he was referring to section between two points in certain areas. He never said nor meant the entire wall was finished.

Also, baked into the equation why the wall was never finished, was the scum of the world liberal democrats garbage who did everything they could do to put up roadblocks to the building of the wall and making America great again, and safer.

When you deal with the liberal democrats you, the media, and the people who support them, you don't get truth -- you get the run around, inuendo, deceit, and so on.

YankeeMike said...

GREAT NEWS .>>>> The Yankees have chucked, dumped, gotten rid of, kicked out, and released Josh Donaldson forever. The move opens a spot on the 40 man roster. YES!!!!

Grosner said...

Ok, James--there is definitely not "practically unfettered" or just "unfettered" access across our borders. Better? Ridiculous distinction given the number of apprehensions and people who die trying to cross the border.

Also, direct Trump quote:
'The border is a disaster,' the former president said. 'I built hundreds of miles of wall and I finished it.'

He has claimed multiple times it was 'finished' or 'nearly finished'.

Ian Collins said...

Using common sense and wisdom, I would believe that the millions and millions of illegals entering the USA through the southern border and being dispersed to cities and towns across the country makes the border unfettered and OPEN.

Yankee runs, Torres, Higashioka, Volpe all with solo home runs, and Judge score on a passed ball. Yankees win two games in a row since the first couple of days this month. Cole start tomorrow to win series.

Re Boone: >> Yankees did not score in the top of the tenth inning. Not because of Gleyber. But because Boone pinch hit for IKF with Judge. Totally stupid move. IKF has been very good batting with RISP this season. Plus he knowns how to hit the ball to the right side which would have at least moved the runner to 3B. Plus sending up Judge the Tigers could have just walked him. Judge could have pinch hit for Peraza or Everson. Once again Boone shows he has absorbed no feel for the game. Maybe after Torres error the game might have been only tied had Boone did the right thing in the top of the inning.

""""""""""" The other great news is, this morning the YANKEES have signed a sixteen year old named Jasson Dominguez from the Dominican Republic. All I can say is WIN METHOD, WIN METHOD, WIN METHOD. Jasson's father is a lifelong YANKEE fan. The YANKEES had to pay a pretty penny for Jasson. Somewhere around a five million dollar signing bonus because he was coveted by many other MLB teams. Jasson reminds me of Mickey Mantle. For you younger fans here, look up what Mickey Mantle did over his career to help lead the YANKEES to great success for many seasons. Biden insists he’s too busy to visit site of Ohio train derailment disaster despite record vacations.

President Biden claimed he hasn’t “been able to break” since promising he’d visit the site of the toxic train derailment in East Palestine, Ohio months ago – despite recently taking a roughly eight-day vacation in Nevada.

Biden was asked why he hasn’t yet fulfilled his March commitment to visit the Ohio village at a press conference Saturday in Live Oak, Florida, during his short trip to view Hurricane Idalia’s wreckage.

“I haven’t had the occasion to go to East Palestine,” Biden told reporters. “There’s a lot going on here, and I just haven’t been able to break.”

His remarks came nearly a week after he finished off his family getaway in Nevada — and some 211 days since the Feb. 3 derailment.

The Post reported Saturday that Biden has spent 40% — or 382 of his first 957 days as president — on personal overnight trips away from the White House, taking more downtime than any of his recent predecessors.

J Domínguez (S) CF
G Torres (R) 2B
G Stanton (R) DH
A Volpe (R) SS
E Pereira (R) LF
O Peraza (R) 3B
B Rortvedt (L) C

I bet Rortvedt is catching because Cole didn't want to break in a new catcher. Stanton down to 5 hole a good move in my opinion. Isn't amazing with a lineup without Donaldson, Bader (both gone) just looks better.

Neil Golub said...

I would rather see Wells tonight, but at least Rortvedt is a lefty bat. He has also caught Cole consistently lately.

YankeeMike said...

Looks like Rizzo will not play again this year.

I do not think Higashioka will be a Yankee next season. Wells likely #1 catcher with Trevino #2 in 2024.

candycane said...

Yanks up 1-0 after 2.

Angel Cordero said...

1-0 Yanks thru 5. Cole has given up six hits but has kept the Tigers off the board.

yankeedoodledandy said...

Stanton 2 run HR puts Yankees up 3-1 after six. Now it's up to bullpen to hold lead. Cole out after six giving up 1 run.

Stan the Man said...

Judge walk, Dominguez double, and Torres 2 rbi double adds 2 insurance runs in 8th for a 5-1 lead. Torres does it again, base running blunder as he gets picked off second base.

AAA said...

Game over, Yankees win 5-1. Fourth straight win.

will-i-am said...

Final. Yankees win 5-1. Cole goes six innings allowing 8 hits but only 1 run for the win. Kahnle, Loaisiga, and Holmes all work one scoreless inning. Yankee runs, LeMahieu solo HR, Stanton a 2 run HR, the 400th HR of his career, and Torres a 2 RBI double. Four consecutive wins for the Yankees and will try to win this series tomorrow with Schmidt starting.

Frank Sergi said...

Good start to this three games series with a 5-1 win. Schmidt tomorrow and Rodon Thursday Yankee starters. Would be great to win both games.

Al Ashton said...

The veterans had all the rbi's tonight. The yutes none the less have been the spark and have extended the lineup from end to end.

Ray Freeman said...

Wells will catch tomorrows game.

Laura Koehler said...

Need to keep winning. Wins are the only way to the playoffs. Still alive and kicking.

sid greenberg,nyc said...

Pereira has been the Yankee youngster who to this point been struggling with the bat, but he has shown excellent defense in left field. Peraza has shown flashes with the bat and has played very good defense at third base so far. Dominguez, how sweet would it be if he turns out be Yankee center fielder who was also a switch hitter, fast as a speeding bullet, brilliant defender, one of the best hitters in baseball history, and a hall of famer. The "Commerce Comet" Mickey Mantle. Volpe has established himself and still developing. He was allowed to play through a bad slump, which what you have to do with youngsters. Let the kids play. Wells, looks good so far, but I have seen enough to rate him yet.

After saying the above, and you give all the youngsters a full year's chance to show what they can or cannot do, the Yankees do not need to look for any position players for high dollars.

Guy Padikian said...

Todays Yankee lineup.

Clarke Schmidt (R)

D LeMahieu (R) 1B
A Judge (R) DH
J Domínguez (S) CF
G Torres (R) 2B
G Stanton (R) RF
A Wells (L) C
A Volpe (R) SS
O Peraza (R) 3B
O Cabrera (S) LF

I think I like this lineup the most of what I/ve seen this season. Same lineup was used once a few games back.

yankeefan2 said...

Guy Padikian... This is the first time for this lineup. Two others were similar but not the same.

Stache Colinski said...

The formula, Schmidt keeps team in game, lineup scores when it matters most, bullpen closes game out = win.

candycane said...

Yanks up 3-1 after 3.

jimbo said...

Yanks leading 4-1 thru six innings. Schmidt gave up a two out rbi single in the first inning. Since then he has retired 16 straight batters and is coming out to pitch the seventh inning.

Stan the Man said...

Theeeeeeeeeeee Yankeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees Winnnnnnnnnnn. 4-3

Steve(winstheonlystat) said...

What looked like an easy win, turned out to be a one run game over the last three innings. The most important play of the game when it mattered most was by relief pitcher Weissert who only faced one batter when he came on to pitch in the eighth inning with the Yankees up 4-3, the bases full of Tigers and two outs. He struck the batter out on four pitches.

will-i-am said...

Final. Yankees win 4-3. Schmidt went 6 1/3 innings allowing 3 runs and got the win. Peralta went 1 1/3 innings earning a hold. Peralta came in in the 7th inning, after Schmidt faltered, and got the last two outs. Peralta stayed in for the eighth and created his own trouble, loading the bases with two outs. Weissert came in to got the third out with a when it mattered most strikeout. Holmes came in for the ninth and had a short and sweet 1,2,3 inning on nine pitches. Peralta and Wissert each earned a hold and Holmes earned the save. The Yankee win takes the series and tomorrow Rodon starts as the Yankees try for the sweep.

Roy Shaw said...

Five straight wins for the youngsters.

Guy Padikian said...

Ooopps! Forgot the Yankee runs in my recap. LeMahieu two out rbi single when it mattered most. Dominguez solo HR. Peraza two out rbi double when it mattered most. Torres rbi single.

Need to play .850 ball.

coryankee said...

Make it happen guys, make it happen.

John Hartnett said...

Rodon today as Yanks go for six in a row. Let the kids play so they can bloom and grow.

Lon Klick said...

Left hander starting for Detroit tonite. Will Higashioka start and will there be an all right handed lineup by Yankees.

Guy Padikian said...

Todays Yankee lineup.

Carlos Rodon (L)

D LeMahieu (R) 1B
A Judge (R) RF
J Domínguez (S) CF
G Torres (R) 2B
G Stanton (R) DH
A Volpe (R) SS
K Higashioka (R) C
E Pereira (R) LF
O Peraza (R) 3B

All righty lineup. Lets do it again for sixth straight win and a series sweep.

RLA said...

Lon Klick, you called it, Higgy in and an all right handed lineup. Just need to win game.

Carlos Pepe said...

Rodon, double, home run to first two batters, puts team in a 2-0 hole before coming to bat.

Andrew J said...

Tigers hitting Rodon hard, and score two more runs in third putting Yanks down 4-1.

yankeeclipper said...

Rodon can't finish fourth inning and he buries Yankees as he leaves 8-1.

candycane said...

Yanks down 8-3 after 4.

will-i-am said...

Final. Yankees lose 10-3. Rodon gets shellacked, giving up 7 runs in 3 2/3 innings and takes the giant LOSS. Vasquez goes 2 1/3 allowing 1 run, Abreu goes 2 innings allowing 2 runs, Krook pitches a 1,2,3 ninth. Yankee runs came on a Torres solo HR, Pereira 2 rbi double. Win streak over. Milwaukee in for a three game weekend series. Starters for series are Louie Louie, King, and Cole.

Alex Antonius said...

Rodon didn't give us a chance. Somebody had to lose sooner or later, but Rodon made the loss easier to accept, since he was so pathetic. But it better than losing 4-3.

Deb F said...

Hope we can sweep this series over the weekend.

Guy Padikian said...

Todays Yankee lineup.

Luis Severino (R)

D LeMahieu (R) 1B
A Judge (R) DH
J Domínguez (S) CF
G Torres (R) 2B
A Wells (L) C
A Volpe (R) SS
O Peraza (R) 3B
J Bauers (L) RF
O Cabrera (S) LF

Stanton out, four left handed bats. Start another win streak.

yankeeclipper said...

Short rain delay as ground crew works on field. First pitch in five minutes.

yankeefan2 said...

Severino throws pitch to lead off batter in fifth inning and leaves game in pain. You could see the agony in his face. Looks as if he may have torn something in stomach, ribcage, of side. Likely done for season.

candycane said...

2-2 after 5.

RLA said...

Yankee bullpen gives up 3 runs in 7th. Down 5-2 after 7.

will-i-am said...

Final. Yankees lose 8-2. Tied 2-2 thru six innings, Yankee bullpen gave up 3 runs in 7th, and 3 more in 8th innings. Severino left game in 5th inning with an injury somewhere in his midsection. Brito, Loaisiga, and Wiessert give up other 6 runs with Brito taking the loss. Only Yankee runs came on Dominguez 2 run home run. Dominguez home run the only positive on the game for Yankees.

Yankees old timers day game tomorrow afternoon. Always good to see Yankees who made history.

Todays Yankee lineup.

Michael King (R)

D LeMahieu (R) 1B

J Domínguez (S) CF
G Torres (R) 2B
G Stanton (R) RF
A Volpe (R) SS
A Wells (L) C
E Pereira (R) LF
O Peraza (R) 3B

Wells catching against a left handed pitcher, not Higashioka. A must win for a chance to win series.

jimbo said...

Severino injury not diagnosed yet, being looked at today. He still had sharp pain in his left side hours after the initial event. Severino state, "it felt like I was shot."

Carl Hooks said...

The stats haven't been there for Wells yet, but he makes contact, hits to all fields, and is about do to have some balls fall in for him, plus visit the right field seats.

Wendy Weinberg said...

Rain delay, will start but more rain coming. Iffy situation.

Xavier Young said...

Yankee bullpen crashes and burns, give up seven runs in eighth and ninth innings. Down 9-2.

White Knight said...

Yanks go down 9-2. Looked terrible.

will-i-am said...

Final. Yankees lose 9-2. King goes 5 innings giving up 2 runs. Loaisiga takes the loss giving up 3 runs in the 8th. Krook and Marinacio give up 4 runs in 9th. Yankees 2 runs Volpe rbi single and Peraza rbi fielders choice.

Stan the Man said...

Cole starts tomorrow to try to prevent being swept by Brewers.

Louie Louie Severino is done for the season. He was placed on the injured list Saturday with a high-grade left oblique strain and will not pitch again this year,

WIN METHOD said...

Nowhere on any site has anyone mentioned Domingo German for next season. Do not count him out of being a solid rotation starter in 2024.

Deb F said...

WIN METHOD. You are right. I haven't seen one word about him anyplace either. I couldn't even remember his injury. Looked it up, and by darn, the reason he is out. I forgot it completely. Alcohol abuse, he's going into rehab to get himself and life straightened out. Thank you.

Yanks23245 said...

Wow, I forgot about him completely.

Tony Manchu said...

Forgot all about him. With all the kids being called up and playing, that has been all the conversation. I thought he had a personal issue to deal with.

BIGTIMEYANKEE said...

Nothing I have seen or read about Yankee pitching plans for next year mentions German. Forgot all about him. The positive was it was not arm issues with him. If he stays the course and wants to right his life the most he could be great. Remember Sabathia.

Todays Yankee lineup.

G Torres (R) 2B
G Stanton (R) DH
I Kiner-Falefa (R) 3B
A Volpe (R) SS
E Pereira (R) LF
B Rortvedt (L) C

The door of opportunity is almost closed.

Hope the team doesn't play patsy for the Brewers and can avoid a sweep today.

Stan the Man said...

Thru four innings the Yankees do not have a baserunner. Game tied 0-0.

NJYANKEE said...

Cole goes seven innings, doesn't give up a run, 3 hits, 0 walks, 9 strikeouts and can't win the game because his team couldn't score a run, worse, they don't even have a hit.

If you don't think this has been a cursed season, add to the stack of bad stuff, Jasson Dominguez, only in MLB for a heck of an outstanding week, is not in the game because of inflamation in his right elbow.

Walt Belamy said...

Nine innings. Scoreless game. Yankees do not have a hit. Perfect time for little league extra innings. Manfred and Biden, the lowest form of human life.

yankeefan2 said...

Brewers score a fake runner run in 11th for a 1-0 lead. Yankees get their first hit of game, and rbi double scoring a fake runner for a 1-1 time. To the 12th inning we go.

Yankeefan2 said...

Brewers score 2 in the 12th inning. But Yankees get their second hit of game, a 2 run HR from Stanton and game is tied 3-3 after 12. On to the 13th inning. One heck of a wild and crazy game.

Yankeefan2 said...

13th inning, Brewers don't score. Yankees get their 3rd hit of game, and rbi single from Higashioka and win game 4-3. Wow!

will-i-am said...

Final. Yankees win 4-3 in thirteen innings. Higashioka with a walk off rbi single for the win. Yankees only had 3 hits for the entire game, being no hit over the first ten inning. First hit was a Cabrera rbi double in the eleventh inning to tie game 1-1. Second hit came in twelfth inning, a 2 run game tying HR by Stanton for a 3-3 tie. Yankee third hit and a walk off game winning hit came in thirteenth inning, a rbi single by Higashioka. Winning pitcher was Anthony Misiewicz making his first appearance in a Yankee uniform.

Steve(winstheonlystat) said...

I guess that with only three hits, all in extra innings and each hit scoring runs, four in total and winning the game is the essence of the WIN METHOD.

jimbo said...

Jasson Dominguez has a torn UCL in his right throwing elbow. Will undergo surgery, and it better be done this coming week, preferably Monday morning.

Jill Byrnes said...

Unbelievable. Being so young, his recovery time would likely be sooner than later. But likely at minimum, half of next season. Mickey Mantle knee, Jasson Dominguez elbow. EERIE!

Izy Hernandez said...

This is absurd. How does this happen to a 20-year-old? Who is not a pitcher.

Jimmy Thanes said...

I can live with the Dominguez injury if he follows in Mantles footsteps.

FloridaYankee said...

Concentrate on starting pitching for next season. At least seven pitchers who are fully capable to start and win. Who doesn't start is a long bullpen arm and starts as needed for various reasons. Let the kids play, we have enough capable position players who are developing. Do not pay big dollars for position players unless they are WIN METHOD.
