WIN METHOD --- 2023 SEASON -- FINAL RUN TO THE PLAYOFFS WHERE ONLY THE BEST TEAMS AND BEST PLAYERS PLAY
Less than half the season to play. So much to be decided. Many teams vying for playoff positions in each league. Three divisions in each league, each division winner makes the playoffs and then the next three teams with the best win/loss records also make the playoffs. Only WINS determines which teams go to the playoffs. WINS are the only statistic which determines the best teams and the best players.
The YANKEES are one of the teams in the chase at this point in the season. The YANKEES, the team with the most player time lost to injuries, by a very large margin, over any other team in MLB. No question, every team has player injuries and loses players for periods of time, but no other team has had as many players injured and missed games as the YANKEES.
What are the YANKEE chances of making the playoffs with about seventy games yet to play? We will find out over the two and a half months. If some of the key injured players can return and contribute, that would make a difference. As with every team, it will be determined only by WINS. I believe if the YANKEES make the playoffs, will have a very good chance at advancing through the playoffs and winning the WORLD SERIES. I bet none of the teams vying for the playoffs are giving up, the players on those teams are not giving up, and the WIN METHOD YANKEE fans are not giving up, because when you give up, you give yourself no chance at all. It has been said many times, by many posters, the YANKEES will play over, under, around and thru any and all obstacles and roadblocks thrown in front of them.
It has been great to see YANKEE STADIUM filled with fans each game during this season, games have always been pretty nor turned out well for YANKEE fans and more so for the team. Don't give up, with enough WINS the YANKEES can still make the playoffs. If they do. watch out for them in the playoffs. Stay positive and say it often LETS GO YANKEES.

I believe President Biden is in direct violation of his oath of office by allowing practically unfettered access to our southern border; by not better protecting the border , he has opened a path for criminals, terrorists and agents of foreign countries who want to destroy the United States and will kill Americans. It is my observation that DJ LeMahieu has developed into a very good first baseman and become a better defender than Rizzo.
I think it is great for the Yankee kids to come up and play with Judge, LeMahieu, Rizzo, Cole, etc. To see and play in the MLB parks. It builds the can do philosophy.

I bet Rortvedt is catching because Cole didn't want to break in a new catcher. Stanton down to 5 hole a good move in my opinion. Isn't amazing with a lineup without Donaldson, Bader (both gone) just looks better.
I would rather see Wells tonight, but at least Rortvedt is a lefty bat. He has also caught Cole consistently lately.
Looks like Rizzo will not play again this year.
I do not think Higashioka will be a Yankee next season. Wells likely #1 catcher with Trevino #2 in 2024.

1-0 Yanks thru 5. Cole has given up six hits but has kept the Tigers off the board.
Stanton 2 run HR puts Yankees up 3-1 after six. Now it's up to bullpen to hold lead. Cole out after six giving up 1 run.
Judge walk, Dominguez double, and Torres 2 rbi double adds 2 insurance runs in 8th for a 5-1 lead. Torres does it again, base running blunder as he gets picked off second base.
Game over, Yankees win 5-1. Fourth straight win.
Final. Yankees win 5-1. Cole goes six innings allowing 8 hits but only 1 run for the win. Kahnle, Loaisiga, and Holmes all work one scoreless inning. Yankee runs, LeMahieu solo HR, Stanton a 2 run HR, the 400th HR of his career, and Torres a 2 RBI double. Four consecutive wins for the Yankees and will try to win this series tomorrow with Schmidt starting.
Good start to this three games series with a 5-1 win. Schmidt tomorrow and Rodon Thursday Yankee starters. Would be great to win both games.
The veterans had all the rbi's tonight. The yutes none the less have been the spark and have extended the lineup from end to end.

Pereira has been the Yankee youngster who to this point been struggling with the bat, but he has shown excellent defense in left field. Peraza has shown flashes with the bat and has played very good defense at third base so far. Dominguez, how sweet would it be if he turns out be Yankee center fielder who was also a switch hitter, fast as a speeding bullet, brilliant defender, one of the best hitters in baseball history, and a hall of famer. The "Commerce Comet" Mickey Mantle. Volpe has established himself and still developing. He was allowed to play through a bad slump, which what you have to do with youngsters. Let the kids play. Wells, looks good so far, but I have seen enough to rate him yet.
After saying the above, and you give all the youngsters a full year's chance to show what they can or cannot do, the Yankees do not need to look for any position players for high dollars.

I think I like this lineup the most of what I/ve seen this season. Same lineup was used once a few games back.
Guy Padikian... This is the first time for this lineup. Two others were similar but not the same.
The formula, Schmidt keeps team in game, lineup scores when it matters most, bullpen closes game out = win.

Yanks leading 4-1 thru six innings. Schmidt gave up a two out rbi single in the first inning. Since then he has retired 16 straight batters and is coming out to pitch the seventh inning.

What looked like an easy win, turned out to be a one run game over the last three innings. The most important play of the game when it mattered most was by relief pitcher Weissert who only faced one batter when he came on to pitch in the eighth inning with the Yankees up 4-3, the bases full of Tigers and two outs. He struck the batter out on four pitches.
Final. Yankees win 4-3. Schmidt went 6 1/3 innings allowing 3 runs and got the win. Peralta went 1 1/3 innings earning a hold. Peralta came in in the 7th inning, after Schmidt faltered, and got the last two outs. Peralta stayed in for the eighth and created his own trouble, loading the bases with two outs. Weissert came in to got the third out with a when it mattered most strikeout. Holmes came in for the ninth and had a short and sweet 1,2,3 inning on nine pitches. Peralta and Wissert each earned a hold and Holmes earned the save. The Yankee win takes the series and tomorrow Rodon starts as the Yankees try for the sweep.
Five straight wins for the youngsters.

Rodon, double, home run to first two batters, puts team in a 2-0 hole before coming to bat.
Tigers hitting Rodon hard, and score two more runs in third putting Yanks down 4-1.
Rodon can't finish fourth inning and he buries Yankees as he leaves 8-1.
Yanks down 8-3 after 4.
Final. Yankees lose 10-3. Rodon gets shellacked, giving up 7 runs in 3 2/3 innings and takes the giant LOSS. Vasquez goes 2 1/3 allowing 1 run, Abreu goes 2 innings allowing 2 runs, Krook pitches a 1,2,3 ninth. Yankee runs came on a Torres solo HR, Pereira 2 rbi double. Win streak over. Milwaukee in for a three game weekend series. Starters for series are Louie Louie, King, and Cole.
Rodon didn't give us a chance. Somebody had to lose sooner or later, but Rodon made the loss easier to accept, since he was so pathetic. But it better than losing 4-3.
Hope we can sweep this series over the weekend.

Severino throws pitch to lead off batter in fifth inning and leaves game in pain. You could see the agony in his face. Looks as if he may have torn something in stomach, ribcage, of side. Likely done for season.

Yankee bullpen gives up 3 runs in 7th. Down 5-2 after 7.
Final. Yankees lose 8-2. Tied 2-2 thru six innings, Yankee bullpen gave up 3 runs in 7th, and 3 more in 8th innings. Severino left game in 5th inning with an injury somewhere in his midsection. Brito, Loaisiga, and Wiessert give up other 6 runs with Brito taking the loss. Only Yankee runs came on Dominguez 2 run home run. Dominguez home run the only positive on the game for Yankees.
The last two games have likely put the next to last nail in their coffin for 2023.

Severino injury not diagnosed yet, being looked at today. He still had sharp pain in his left side hours after the initial event. Severino state, "it felt like I was shot."
The stats haven't been there for Wells yet, but he makes contact, hits to all fields, and is about do to have some balls fall in for him, plus visit the right field seats.

Louie Louie Severino is done for the season. He was placed on the injured list Saturday with a high-grade left oblique strain and will not pitch again this year,
Nowhere on any site has anyone mentioned Domingo German for next season. Do not count him out of being a solid rotation starter in 2024.
WIN METHOD. You are right. I haven't seen one word about him anyplace either. I couldn't even remember his injury. Looked it up, and by darn, the reason he is out. I forgot it completely. Alcohol abuse, he's going into rehab to get himself and life straightened out. Thank you.

Nothing I have seen or read about Yankee pitching plans for next year mentions German. Forgot all about him. The positive was it was not arm issues with him. If he stays the course and wants to right his life the most he could be great. Remember Sabathia.

Hope the team doesn't play patsy for the Brewers and can avoid a sweep today.
Thru four innings the Yankees do not have a baserunner. Game tied 0-0.
Cole goes seven innings, doesn't give up a run, 3 hits, 0 walks, 9 strikeouts and can't win the game because his team couldn't score a run, worse, they don't even have a hit.
If you don't think this has been a cursed season, add to the stack of bad stuff, Jasson Dominguez, only in MLB for a heck of an outstanding week, is not in the game because of inflamation in his right elbow.
Nine innings. Scoreless game. Yankees do not have a hit. Perfect time for little league extra innings. Manfred and Biden, the lowest form of human life.
Brewers score a fake runner run in 11th for a 1-0 lead. Yankees get their first hit of game, and rbi double scoring a fake runner for a 1-1 time. To the 12th inning we go.
Brewers score 2 in the 12th inning. But Yankees get their second hit of game, a 2 run HR from Stanton and game is tied 3-3 after 12. On to the 13th inning. One heck of a wild and crazy game.
13th inning, Brewers don't score. Yankees get their 3rd hit of game, and rbi single from Higashioka and win game 4-3. Wow!
Final. Yankees win 4-3 in thirteen innings. Higashioka with a walk off rbi single for the win. Yankees only had 3 hits for the entire game, being no hit over the first ten inning. First hit was a Cabrera rbi double in the eleventh inning to tie game 1-1. Second hit came in twelfth inning, a 2 run game tying HR by Stanton for a 3-3 tie. Yankee third hit and a walk off game winning hit came in thirteenth inning, a rbi single by Higashioka. Winning pitcher was Anthony Misiewicz making his first appearance in a Yankee uniform.
I guess that with only three hits, all in extra innings and each hit scoring runs, four in total and winning the game is the essence of the WIN METHOD.
Jasson Dominguez has a torn UCL in his right throwing elbow. Will undergo surgery, and it better be done this coming week, preferably Monday morning.
Unbelievable. Being so young, his recovery time would likely be sooner than later. But likely at minimum, half of next season. Mickey Mantle knee, Jasson Dominguez elbow. EERIE!
This is absurd. How does this happen to a 20-year-old? Who is not a pitcher.
I can live with the Dominguez injury if he follows in Mantles footsteps.
Concentrate on starting pitching for next season. At least seven pitchers who are fully capable to start and win. Who doesn't start is a long bullpen arm and starts as needed for various reasons. Let the kids play, we have enough capable position players who are developing. Do not pay big dollars for position players unless they are WIN METHOD.
