The YANKEES have reached the end of their fantastic 2017 season. And a great season it was, accomplishing more than any pundits and most fans expected. But not here at the WIN METHOD, where it was stated the YANKEES would make the playoffs and beyond, and where likely every WIN METHOD fan believed would happen. The YANKEES not only reached the playoffs, but they won the wild card game against the Minnesota Twins to advance to the American League Division Series (ALDS). In the ALDS the YANKEES had the Cleveland Indians waiting for them to play a best of five game series. The Indians won 102 games during the season and were looking to go back to the World Series where they lost in seven games last season. The Indians won the first two games and the YANKEES had their backs to the wall. You WIN METHOD fans, the smartest most intelligent baseball fans never gave up, you rooted your team on, never gave up, and the YANKEES themselves never game up as they went on to defeat the Indians in the next three games. An amazing comeback for the YANKEES. By winning the ALDS the YANKEES moved on to the American League Championship Series (ALCS) where they had the Houston Astros waiting for them. Houston won 101 games over the season and are a young developing great team. The ALCS is a best of seven game series and the winner goes to the World Series and the losing team ends their season. The Astros won the first two games of the series and the YANKEES again had their backs to the wall. The YANKEES never gave up and neither did you WIN METHOD fans. The YANKEES came back to win the next three games of the series. The YANKEES just needed to win one of the next two games in Houston to go to the World Series. The Astros had other thoughts in mend and they also never gave up and the Astros came back to win the two games in Houston and move on to the World Series. The YANKEE season was over. But the blooming and growing was just beginning. The 2017 YANKEES achieved more than the baseball world expected. The WIN METHOD fans were not surprised, WIN METHOD fans being the most intelligent and knowledgeable in baseball were well aware of what their YANKEE team could achieve as the youngsters started to bloom and grow.
Congratulations to the YANKEE players, coaches, management, front office, and ownership for allowing the YANKEE team to bloom and grow.
The off season has arrived for the YANKEES. Time to kick back, rest, relax, and do the things you want to do and the things that you don't have time to do during the season. Enjoy guys, you made you proud and your run is just beginning. During the off season the YANKEE front office will have many decisions to make regarding player personnel. No question the roster for 2018 will change, some new players will come and some will go. The YANKEES are in a position of great power having the best minor league system in baseball and many many players blooming and growing trying to make the 2018 roster and challenge veteran players. The front office has work to do, hard decisions to make, and make them they will.
On a side note, you the WIN METHOD fans, fans from all over the world have made it possible for the WIN METHOD blog, the greatest Yankee and baseball blog/forum in the world to surpass a quarter of a billion views. Thank you fans for your devotion and passion, for being smartest baseball fans that exist, and for standing up against stat frauds and their misguided fools view of baseball. This blog will continue without advertisements and clutter that fills every other site you may visit. I know, you visit them for laughs.
Have fun everyone in the off season. I will go out and find a few more WIN METHOD players to bloom and grow down the road. Spring training 2018 is going to be a lot of fun as the kids make their push for the majors, the brightest lights and the biggest stage in baseball, the New York YANKEES. Yes they can, and they will. Lets go Yankees.

I love posting here. It is truly a fun place. Fun people and no ads interference.
Thank you WIN METHOD and all you do. Please try to post more often. Love ya,
WIN METHOD, do you get much time off in the off season?
candycane <<<>>> Thank you for your question. This season I will have the most time off than I have had over the past 30+ years. I will definitely be home on Thanksgiving and Christmas. Couldn't say that in the past. I will be making shorter trips abroad and they will be more concentrated to specific areas.
Yes, the Yankees had a great 2017 and I am hoping for an even better 2018 season on more youngsters bloom and grow.
Keep posting WIN METHOD. Love ya,
I am rooting for the Astros in the series and I think they will have an easier time against the Dodgers than they had against the Yankees.
There is no doubt the Yankees will be dealing from strength this winter.
When someone comes calling looking for some of our talent they need to pay the piper for it. No giveaways.
Think of how the Yankees closed out the playoff season over their last twelve games, five against Cleveland and seven against Houston. Both Cleveland and Houston were division winners and both won over 100+ games over the season. The YANKEES played them 6-6. The YANKEES are as good as any team and can beat anyone. Fun time coming in 2018.
WIN METHOD, Can't wait until spring training begins.
I would love to see the Astros take four straight from the Bums.
sid Greenberg,nyc....Now you are going back to the Brooklyn days.
The introduction to the playoffs was a boon to our youngsters. It was fertilizer to help them bloom and grow.
yankeeclipper, well stated.
The Yankees have so much talent, they can't go to far wrong no matter what they do this winter. Just have to hope anyone they trade away does not become a gem.
Go Astros.
Four months until spring training.
Rumor has Japanese pitcher/hitter Otani is on radar.
I rather have him as a pitcher first, pinch hitter/designated hitter second. Not on the field.
It looks like the bar has been set for the Yankees in 2018. One win away from reaching the World Series this season.
Isn't it likely that if the Yankees don't lose some veterans there will be no room on the 25 man roster for new rookies. Therefor during the winter if the Yankees move some veterans it is likely some new faces will appear on the team.
Zhaire, you are right. Can only play with 25 bodies. Time will tell how things shake out. The newer next in line youngsters may still start the season in AAA to bloom and grow.
Not only winter deals may influence decisions, but spring training performances may also.
Take it slow and easy fans. Good things come to those who wait.
Astros/Dodgers game 2 tonight.
Home teams are doing very well in the post season so far.
Astros on the cusp of going down 2-0 in Series.
If the Yankees want to stay under the cap in 18 they can't throw much money around.
Astros rally late for an 11 inning win to even series at 1.
A quarter of a billion views is amazing. But this is the best around.
The winter meetings are not until December. I guess teams will be mulling over their teams, their plans, and their goals developing a strategy for the next month of so. Things should be quiet.
Chad....Teams can make all the plans they want. They can only control players from within. Any deals need two teams to consummate.
Chad Copely & Billy Tedder....Just because a team wants a player it doesn't mean they will get him because the other team will not agree to a deal. Same with free agents, some free agents may not want to come to the Yankees because they can't handle the pressure.
muchomachoman, "not want to come to the Yankees because they can't handle the pressure." That is for sure.
We do have a heck of a lot of chips on our side of the table. And they are blooming and growing.
No explicit details as of now but Joe Girardi will not be the Yankee manager next season. Before I pass and personal comment I will wail to see who the new manager will be.
I had heard that a few hours ago and was heart broken. What a loss. I need details.
Joe being gone could mean the entire coaching staff will be gone.
It will be interesting to see who Yankees pick. He better be a gem, because Girardi was a gem.
Will the new manager be an in house selectee or someone from outside.
Whomever becomes the Yankee manager will inherit a blooming and growing WIN METHOD team and will have to get to the World Series or be considered a flop.
How about Girardi going to the Marlins with Jeter??? No pressure there taking over one of the worst teams in baseball. All he could do is improve them.
Hal Steinbrenner who is known to like to save a few bucks should stay in house and go with AAA Scranton manager Al Predique who knows all the youngsters on the Yankees, and all those at Scranton moving up the ladder. Why go with some other teams garbage and there are many garbage managers out there.
I hope the Yankees stay in their system also.
I agree people. Stay in house with people who know the Yankee system and the players.
Jeter and the Marlins may not be able to afford Girardi.
Just hope the Yankees don't hire a stat fraud fool as manager. That could cripple the team very quickly. Need a manager that knows how to get wins with all players contributing to earn wins. Wins are the only thing that matters and the only thing that gets a team to the playoffs. Lets see who the new manager will be.
If the new manager is from within I hope it is someone who is a manager already.
Lets see what we get.
I liked Girardi and I hate to see him go. I wouldn't want to be the guy replacing him. Then what is the front office going to say if the new guy doesn't at least equal what Girardi accomplished this season.
I have a feeling Cashman knows who he wants already.
Wilsonsway, very possible. Would the Yankees have let Girardi go if he got the team into the WS, (just one win away), and more so if he went on to win the WS. If not, then there is absolutely no reason to let him go for a one game loss.
will-i-am...Interesting thought. Just the thought that he would not be let go if the Yankees had won game seven in Houston is amazing.
The scenario presented here is one I would really like to ask Cashman and the Yankees hierarchy about.
Heck, the Yankees did it before. They fired Yogi Berra when he lost the World Series in 1964.
There is precedent.
Promote from within. Better yet, have second thoughts and get Girardi back.
Astros with early 4 run lead after 2.
Promote our own. AAA manager Predique iss blooming and growing with the youngsters.
Houston up 2-1 over Los Angeles.
Any manager should be allowed to manage his team without input and or interference from above.
Harry Stavris, that would be to logical.
If I am hired to run a department, then I run it my way without interference.
Warren Hammond, if the guy that does the hiring wants a stooge, then you don't get hired.
Any baseball manager who takes the reins without full control ain't worth his salt.
Deb F>>>>>I think your comment hit the nail on the head. If the new manager doesn't take the Yankees as far as Girardi did this season, management is going to look silly.
Tim, management may not care. By cleaning house and promoting from within they may be reducing payroll significantly.
Dodgers win game four, series even at two games each.
They will never admit it but I think the Yankees will rue the day they let Girardi go.
Sharon/NC, I agree. Girardi deserved better.
The only sure about the WS as of now is that it will be decided in LA.
Dodgers lead Astros 3-0 after two.
Dodger manager Dave Roberts may have made the all time greatest blunder in history by bringing in relief pitcher Brandon Morrow in to relieve in the seventh inning with the Dodgers leading 8-7. It was Morrows fifth straight game and he had nothing, pitching to four batters and giving up four hits and four runs.
Last nights World Series games was one of the greatest games I have ever seen. The only thing the pitchers produced were runs for the opposing team. But hitters on both teams consistently produced for their team creating comeback after comeback for both sides until the final game winning hit in the bottom of the tenth inning with two outs giving the Houston Astros a 13-12 win and a 3 game to 2 lead in the World Series.
Off day today and the end will come in LA one way or the other.
We have two managers in the WS right now running two great teams. Joe Girardi is a better manager than both of them.
The Yankees loss is will be some other teams gain.
Lets go Yankees.
Rooting hard for the Astros to win tomorrow and close out the series in six games.
jimbo,, you were on the Astros from the beginning.
Always going to take the true major league team over the AAAA league team.
The biggest difference between the two leagues is the American Leagues has professional designated hitters while the AAAA league does not.
Hopefully the WS ends tonight.
I would think the Yankees will name their manager pretty soon.
If the Yankees hire an outsider I think it will hurt the team, it will in my eyes.
Verlander makes amends against the Dodgers tonight and the Strohs win the title.
I just want to know who our manger will be.
Happy Halloween.
Hire from our organization.
Dodgers win game six 3-1. Seventh and final game of 2017 WS tomorrow.
The greatest sport in the world ends its 2017 season tonight with the final game of the World Series. After this evenings game the sports world is dead and buried until baseball opens spring training camps in February 2018.
The end is near of this I am certain and I did it my way. Congratulations to the winning and losing teams tonight, you have made baseball fans proud and provided one of the greatest World Series of all time.
Game 3 pitching rematch. McCullers/Darvish
There is no question in my mind that the four best teams in baseball right now are in alphabetical order.
Cleveland Indians
Houston Astros
Los Angeles Dodgers
New York Yankees
Three of the teams are in the AL and the other in the 4A league.
Lets finish the season with a bang.
5-0 Houston after two innings.
Still 5-0 Houston thru five.
Goats of the World Series for Dodgers.....Yu Darvish and Cody Bellinger.
The Houston Astros are the 2017 World Series Champions.
All WIN METHOD fans who know baseball are totally aware of why the LA Dodgers lost the seventh game of the World Series last night. The Dodgers monumental failure to produce when it mattered most throughout the game was the deciding factor. It is never how much nor how many that matters, it is when that matters. The Dodgers even outhit the Astros in the game. The failure to get a hit when they put the men on base was the difference. The WIN METHOD knows baseball best.
bigbadwolf, no question or doubts. Just fact. According to the WIN METHOD philosophy the Yankees are the second best team in baseball for the 2017 season. Sweet.
We are blooming and growing.
But we need a manager.
Just hope the Yankees don't do anything stupid in who they make manager.
The Dodgers got another teams garbage pitcher in Darvish and he may have cost them the WS.
You always have to be leery when a team is trying to unload a pitcher.
Houston did well in representing the greatest league.
Yes they did Ben, yes they did.
Hopefully next year the Yankees develop enough and they can win the WS. Just need to bloom and grow and hopefully find the right manager. I miss Girardi already.
The Yankees will be a force every team will need to go through for quite a few years.
WIN METHOD is making the Yankees great again.
I wonder if Tanaka will leave the Yankees. He would be very stupid if he did in my opinion.
Domenic, he will leave only if money is his sole priority, or try to use money as leverage with the Yankees to offer and extension.
I guess there is nothing wrong with trying to get paid as much as you can. Never having get paid even close to that much it may be hard for me why a person has to have 14 million a year instead of maybe 11 million a year. If you can't live on 11 million a year you don't deserve 14 million.
It comes down to a question of how much money you need to live on. Or think you need.
Interesting numbers the Yankee pitching staff gave up 20 runs to the Strohs in the seven games while the Dodger pitching staff gave up 34 runs.
Girardi took a team that was predicted to finish below .500 and brought them within a hair of the world series. I will miss him and I hope whoever takes over doesn't ruin what we have. We have an amazing group of young guys that can take it all the way, I don't want someone else to come in and ruin that future we've got.
I just wonder if the new Cashman selected manager who replaces the great Cashman released manager doesn't take the 2018 Yankees as far as the 2017 Yankees will Steinbrenner duo can Cashman?
So many uncertainties.
With the talent and experience on this team, next year should be fun.
Masahiro Tanaka has decided to stay with the Yankees. A very smart man who wants to be on a big time winning team in the next few years.
That takes care on a top of the line rotation spot. Louie Louie makes two top of the line rotation spots. So far so good.
We will assume that Gray will be in the rotation, whether he earns it or not to cover Cashmans behind.
Tanaka has likely pretty much settled down since coming to the Yankees. Why would he go to some other team just for a few million more. He likely has everything he needs or wants in life. I wish more players would have this attitude (WIN METHOD) than trying to get every last penny out a team stupid enough to pay.
It will be interesting to see how a Harper or Trout if they ever opt out play their hand.
I think far too many people are making a mountain out of a mole hill regarding Tanaka's UCL tear and its severity.
2018 is coming and so is baseball. These next two months go fast with Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. Shopping, parties, etc. Bloom and grow guys.
Montgomery looks like he may really blossom as he is blooming and growing.
The one pitcher I question is Gray skies. He will get his chance to prove himself. It will be up to him and him alone.
I like Tanaka staying with Yankees and I do not think he would have left for a few million dollars somewhere else.
We still need a manager.
The Tanaka decision clears one hurdle for the Yankees. Keep moving forward.
Over the winter if the Yankees make deals that move established roster names that will surely allow youngsters to make the team out of spring. Now if the Yankees want to give the youngsters more experience there may be no reason to deal the veterans. Their decisions not ours.
There is much talk of a Japanese pitcher Otani. He was hurt in 2017, only pitched 25 innings, and had ankle surgery. In 2018 he would have little value to a team except to build innings, build arm strength, increase innings, and show he can be a MLB player. He is only 23. Would be very low cost for the risk. Unless MLB changes its rules again.
Just ride with WIN METHOD and rise to the top.
The issue is WIN METHOD can't prevent the front office from doing something stupid.
I think Cashman may have opened a can of worms by not retaining Girardi.
May letting Girardi go be Cashmans and the Yankees only blunder this winter.
Tommy Stenchion...hear, hear.
We have so much talent and there is no possible way to keep everyone, the Yankees are going to have to rely on WIN METHODS selections.
Everyone should remain cool calm and collected. When the 2018 Yankees take the field next season they are going to be a really good team.
The only hole in the 2018 team may be the manager.
Izy Hernandez...The truth provides great humor.
It is believed by some that Cashman did not think that Girardi related well to the young players. As the young players led the Yankees to one game from the World Series. ?????
What is Cashman going to think if his new manager doesn't go as far as Girardi did this season?
Tony Gigante>>>>Cashman will just say his new manager got along better with the youngsters than Girardi did. LOL
It's going to be an interesting winter.
Hope it's a fun one.
Hope the Yankees don't succumb to the sophomore jinx in 18.
Everyone, get your Christmas shopping done early. Like now. Then enjoy the season while others are running around like chickens with their heads cut off.
I think Cashman has made a major blunder in letting Girardi go. And I believe he is a quandary on who will come next.
On another topic. Clint Frazier. He spent most of the season on the roster. When given playing time he stunk up the joint. What will we get from him in 2018? Would love to see him perform and make the Yankees play him.
It may turn out that Cashmans decision to not resign Girardi will go down as one of the worst decisions in the history of baseball. As a big fan I hope not, but this smells.
We will just have to let the issue take its course. The final results will supply the answers.
I believe Cashman just wanted Girardi out for whatever reason and he doesn't realize what a pickle he is in that he self created.
Hey, you never know, the new manager may be a shot in the arm for the team.
I don't know if someone else will be as good as Girardi was.
Joe Girardi is a fine man and manager. Brian Cashman has made a mistake.
David Cone and John Flaherty have expressed interest and a willingness for the Yankee managerial position.
At least Cone or Flaherty would be from within.
Al Predique shouldget the job. In organization, has managerial experience, very familiar with the youngsters.
Cone and Flaherty are unknown commodities. If they want to manage, go through the organization. They ar no for me, but I don't count and I don't make the decision. But then again, I wouldn't have put myself into the situation. Cashman may have stabbed himself in the back.
I wonder if Cashman will name whoever before Thanksgiving?
Just two weeks away.
Cashman has opened a can of worms.
Aaron Boone is interested in Yankee managerial position.
Cashman said he had a list of 20-25 names, add in the recent volunteers and you may be pushing 30. If Cashman had planned to let Girardi go, why in the world wouldn't he have someone ready to replace him? Maybe he does and he is just playing everyone?
Eric Wedge has interviewed for job. Why is Cashman wasting everyone's time talking with these bowsers.
We all are just going to have to wait and see.
Linda Pardo, yes, and hope for the best.
Maybe Cashman is afraid to name someone and is waiting for a worldwide natural disaster to slip in the name of the new manager when no one is paying attention.
Eddie OConnor....Funny. Cashman has built a fire and doesn't know how to put it out.
God bless our veterans and God bless America on this day.
Thank you to all our service men and women, past and present for all you have done and are doing.
Happy Veterans Day. God bless you all.
Thank you all who have served and may God bless you.
Cashman, Cashman, Cashman, what have you done?
Don't forget, the manager doesn't pitch, hit, defend, or run the bases. Maybe a WIN METHOD fan or two here could manage the Yankees next year.
Thank you to all the veterans all over the world for all you do and what you have given.
yankeeclipper....>> If that is what Cashman thinks, then there is no reason to let Girardi go but to save salary.
I see we haven't had a stat fraud posting since the end of the season. The likely reason being none of them and none of their made up convoluted Basbara Streisand stats showed the Yankees to make the playoffs, or win as many games as they did over the season. Garbage stats for garbage stat frauds. The frauds were dumb founded thru the playoffs as the Yankees advanced thru the competition missing the World Series by one game. What fools these stat frauds be.
jimbo, hear, hear, well said. We at WIN METHOD were not surprised, very few if any did not expect the playoffs for the 2017 Yankees and the growth of the youngsters. There are more on the way.
Guys, that is why the WIN METHOD blog is the best in baseball. No fake news, no fake stats, just real solid information and analysis.
All we need is a manager for our team. Lets go Yankees.
People, get you Christmas shopping done. Just a heads up, get it done and then enjoy the holidays with family and friends with nothing hanging over your head.
Much speculation regarding the Japanese two way star Otani. Something to consider is he only pitched 25 innings because of injuries this past season. How many innings can he pitch in 2018. As a bat, if he can perform at the MLB level he could have more value in 2018 while still building innings. His full value could be in 2019 and beyond. For his cost, he may well be worth a shot. I bet WIN METHOD has the know.
Maybe we will know here before anyone else.
I hate this time of the year. No baseball equal no sports of any real value.
Time moves quickly, just over 3 months and camps open.
CC says he wants to stay with the Yankees.
Convoluted man created formulas created by the stat frauds is the equivalent to fake news. The sad part is that so many believe in it and accept it. There are far too many people with screwed up beliefs.
Patricia Piper......So true. Here is the value of WAR. This is a documented line. Pitcher is 2016, 27 starts, 9 wins - 13 losses - 7 no decisions. He rated a positive 2.0 WAR meaning the stat frauds think he created 2 wins to the team record over the season.
Everyone, if you haven't already, go read how these formulas are created, defined, and used. They are built on other garbage made up stats. These stats are indefensible and the people who defend them are ignorant beyond belief.
You want stat fraud garbage, read their explanation of park factors. Crap beyond imagination producing yet more stat fraud garbage that must never be taken seriously.
It is really hard to decide which made up Barbara Streisand stat is worse. Read up on defensive stats. Pure and utter garbage. Made up values for everything produce worthless garbage used by worthless garbage.
Cory, I would love to hear the stat fraud explanation of how the 9-13 pitcher helped his team. I can hear the fraud telling me that the W/L means nothing. I guess he could have been 7-15, so 9-13 did help his team. Fools and stat frauds and sabermetricians are all the same.
No wonder the Yankees have won more games, made the most playoffs, won the most pennants, and won the most World Series over the past twenty-five years, they have WIN METHOD which looks at wins and winning as determining the best teams and the best players. WIN METHOD has to be laughing all the way to the bank when he reads the stat frauds rate a pitcher with a 9-13 record as a positive.
You have to win to be the best.
How can anyone call themselves a baseball fan when they try to tell you the loser is better than the winner???? Wake up stat frauds.
Baseball is a simple game, you play, you produce when it counts the most, you win, you are the best. Stat frauds try to complicate it with their convoluted meaningless useless stats.
