WIN METHOD 2016 SEASON -- Only wins and winning determine the best.

The 2016 Major League Baseball season starts today.  The New York YANKEES first game will be tomorrow in New York against the Houston Astros.    The starting rotation has been decided, the twenty-five man roster has been decided, and tomorrow the drive for the playoffs will begin.  This is not fantasy baseball, played by stat fraud fools who live by meaningless individual statistics, this is real baseball where winning is determined by what all players on each team contribute to help their team win the most often.   These contributions are measured by wins and players producing at the right time, when it matters, and not by how much or how many stats they produce for themselves as their team fails.

The injury bug has bitten the YANKEES, as it has bitten every team in one way or another.  First baseman Greg Bird is likely out for the season.  Pitcher Brian Mitchell may be out approximately three months, and pitcher Andrew Miller with a broken bone in his non throwing wrist may have been the luckiest, and will lose no playing time.

Several YANKEE WIN METHOD youngsters are blooming and growing and are on the roster to start the season, and several more are on the near horizon and will start their season in the minors.
Several years ago the WIN METHOD made a concerted effort to find pitching talent each season and the YANKEES drafted many of these youngsters.   The time is here for some of these youngsters and the time for others is just around the corner.

The YANKEE management led by the brilliant dealing of General Manager Brian Cashman have added several new players to this seasons roster and have deepened the bench for 2016.   Also, three very possible future stars are so near.  Catcher Gary Sanchez, right fielder Aaron Judge, and shortstop Jorge Mateo are getting closer to the major league roster every day.  Playing regularly in the minors right now is best for them and their development.  But they will soon be heard from.

Remember fans, it is a long season, there will be ups and downs, and as always only wins and winning will be the determining factor on which teams earn playoffs spots and go on to the second season.    Let the stat fraud fools play their fantasy games.   We will play for real baseball and root for our team to win and root for the contributions of each player to help our team win.

LETS GO YANKEES

FF, did you ever think for a minute that Seattle with the cancer gone was able to add players who helped the team perform better and all the other players may have been happier that the cancer was gone. And then there was the poor Texas Rangers who got the cancer and immediately played three years of horrid baseball with their top player amassing overwhelming individual stats while cheating the game, but hurting the team.

Sean Smith said...

Teixeira on the DL with cartilage tear in knee.

FrustratedFan said...

Ok ignore the complete roster overhaul of each team. Ignore that many players are responsible for team success and failures.

Your view is narrow minded. You are a narrow minded people.

The funny thing is I don't even think he's good for this team. I think his role is redundant as a DH (Beltran can better fill that role) and he has been bad overall to boot. Having said that there have been a number of other issues this team.

If you think that if Arod disappears this team would magically get way better, you're being foolish. You all thought that in 2014 as well - and you were proven wrong. There are multiple deep roster issues in place that will mostly take a couple of years to resolve.

Sean Smith said...

Chris Parmalee called up to replace Teixeira.

Victor Grandozi said...

FF, I think is is remarkable that teams make roster overhauls and the teams that got better after afraud leaves get better, the teams that get afraud get worse and the same happens each time afraud is moved. Remarkable coincidence or the reason for what we are discussing? I blame the cancer. The other guys are just trying to do their best playing clean and all have to be disgusted seeing someone cheat.

NJYANKEE said...

Frustrated Fan, if afraud disappears the team does become better, how much is always up in the air. But better for sure.
I don't think the view on afraud here is narrow. The fans here are realists and not afraid to call a cheat, a cheat, a liar, a liar, and a fraud an afraud. Yes, there is no question no one player makes or breaks a team by what they do on the field in games, but a player can contaminate the minds of teammates by lying and cheating.

FrustratedFan said...

NJYANKEE
I was referring to narrow-minded about the team and it's issues. They run deep yet the only thing people here ever bring up, over and over, is Arod.

Having said, basing your entire opinion on a person based on one thing, his steroid use, is the definition of narrow-mindedness.

And seriously, how weak-minded do you think these people are that they're getting contaminated.

NJYANKEE said...

Frustrated Fan, I think it is the other way around. How would you like it if at your job there are several people who do what you do and the lowest jerk who lies and fudges things gets promoted over all of you and gets pay raises when you don't? Ball players have a job and to succeed and move up you must perform. But you see another player cheat and lie and make large amounts of money by cheating. It affects you, or at least it should.

FrustratedFan said...

NJYANKEE
Not really a perfect example you use, but if I were in that scenario I'd probably find a new job if any organization was rewarding lying and cheating. I don't necessarily think that's what happened here though. I certainly wouldn't perform at a lower level because of it and sink to the level of the liar/cheater.

I thought these WINMETHOD players cared about the team and winning above all anyway? So now it's winning and how much the other players make that they care about?

Patricia Piper said...

afrauds cheating, as many other big name player, and being allowed to get away with it is on baseball and ownership. The cheating created interest and fervor in baseball and what these 'amazing' ballplayers could do, albeit by cheating and corruption. Everyone made money and everyone was happy and the players who played clean got screwed. When people got caught, baseball stepped in. What happened is a shame and in my book none of the cheats stats are real and I ignore their records when rating players. The cheat should be exiled and demeaned. Sad to say that will not happen in the world we live in today.

Jack Gordon said...

Frustrated..Three points. 1. I agree many players may not perform to a lesser to degree, but other may get frustrated and let their play be affected negatively. 2. You can quit and go elsewhere, players are under contract and must wait until the contract is over. 3. When you look for work elsewhere the company that is hiring wants the guy who they think is a wonder so they want the guy who lied and cheated where you worked. He moves on gets even more money.

FrustratedFan said...

Jack
At the end of the day I can only control what I can control. It's not in my nature to point fingers and whine that things aren't fair.

These players only have one thing in their control, playing baseball. They should try to perform to fullest: at-bat by at-bat, and giving their all in the field at all times.

I would hope these are the type of players WINMETHOD was bringing in, but from the general opinion here, I guess it's not.

jimbo said...

The lineup for tonight is available. Got to try change the vibes so not posting it.

Jack Gordon said...

Frustrated..That is you, but everyone is different. Your points and views are surely commendable, but everyone is different. I think WIN METHOD does try to bring in people who want to win and play for the team to succeed. I think it very human for some people to get down when they see cheating being rewarded.

If in the next year or two the Yankees owners let the purse string open and go all out to win, I am quite sure WIN METHOD will only suggest the best for the team. He can only find talent, he doesn't sign them or draft them or pay them. And things are different since the passing of Mr. Steinbrenner.

Pete H said...

Sad to say I am not optimistic tonight. It's all about karma.

Wayne Littlebear said...

Lets get a win.

Cory said...

As afraud strikes out in his first at bat tonight, the Fox announcers say "that is text book pitching to Arod". Yep, the O's pitcher threw three pitches over the plate and afraud whiffed easily and with no contact.

Even after how poorly we have been playing, this team is still in contention for winning the division title. We have a chance to take this series from the team who has been either first or second in the division the entire season. CC this afternoon. Think and play positive.

AAA said...

We score runs we win. Refsynder has looked good.

Boston Yankee said...

Just a thought. If Girardi doesn't let Nova start the 7th inning last night, all the naysayers would whine why did he take Nova let and use up the bullpen. Nova was going great and had a decent pitch count. So Girardi lets Nova start the 7th and almost had a disaster needing Miller and Chapman to get nine outs.

Cole/NJ said...

Winning more consistently is a must to move forward.

Unknown said...

I don't think anyone places any fault on girardi for leaving Nova in that game. It was the right move in the moment that unfortunately didn't work out as planned. Any chance you have to rest those guys you should take it.

Mark Wagoner said...

Keep on chuggin' guys. There are a lot of games to play.

Steve said...

Steven Fischer, Agree. Most here know that what the players do on the field is what makes the manager look bad or good. If Nova pitches a scoreless 7th people say great job leaving Nova in. the same can be said for every manager decision on every team an any time. Joe brings in Goody to try to save Miller and Goody fails, people say Joe should have brought Miller in right away because he would up having to use him anyway. To much second guessing BS by too many people who don't know baseball. Big difference here however.

Failure time after time to get a hit when it natters is killing the Yankees.

Pete H said...

Still a long way to go in the season.

Stanley Chin said...

I think McCann may be right. Many guys so far this season have not done well. If they can get to their norm, there will be more wins. If they get a bit above their norm there will be even more wins. In the entire AL there are only four teams that are five or more games over .500 ball. Everything is wide open. A team over a 20 game stretch that can win 14 or 15 of them can move right to the top or near top of their division.

Steve said...

Let me put it this way. If any fans out there anywhere thinks this Yankees team is done, they are fools. It is only over when you give up, and only the losers of lifes lottery would give up this early in the season.

Went back to the Jan 30 blog and that was when it was announced Greg Bird would be out for the season. the next couple of days several of our brilliant posters mentioned the possibility of Rob Refsynder. Let me throw this fact at you also. In the past month or two the views of this blog have expanded ex-potentially. We are now over 353 millions views.

Yankee first baseman Chris Parmalee to the disabled list.

Lets recap: Yankees start the season with Mark Teixeira as first baseman and Greg Bird as his backup. Bird before the season start is out for the season with a torn Labrum. Ackley is now the backup first baseman. Teixeira goes on the disabled list with torn cartilage in his knee. Ackley diving back into first base on a pick off play tears his shoulder and is out for the season. Teixeira says he will play out the season in pain when he comes off the disabled list instead of having season ending surgery. Chris Parmalee is promoted to first base from AAA Scranton and last night tears his hamstring stretching for a throw. Parmalee is placed on the disabled list. Through all this second baseman/outfielder Rob Refsynder is move to first base playing several games for the first time in his career at first base. Right now Refsynder is the last man standing.

Phil Jenkins said...

There's always Nick Swisher waiting at Scranton.

Rahm Mahood said...

Keep the line moving CC. Everyone wins.

Stan the Man said...

Phil Jenkins...I would rather go with Refsynder over Swisher. However, if Swisher is called up just as he is going into a hot streak, he could be of help for a week or two. I hear that the Yanks may bring up Tyler Austin who has just been move up from AA to AAA because of his performance.
