WIN METHOD 2016 SEASON -- Only wins and winning determine the best.

The 2016 Major League Baseball season starts today.  The New York YANKEES first game will be tomorrow in New York against the Houston Astros.    The starting rotation has been decided, the twenty-five man roster has been decided, and tomorrow the drive for the playoffs will begin.  This is not fantasy baseball, played by stat fraud fools who live by meaningless individual statistics, this is real baseball where winning is determined by what all players on each team contribute to help their team win the most often.   These contributions are measured by wins and players producing at the right time, when it matters, and not by how much or how many stats they produce for themselves as their team fails.

The injury bug has bitten the YANKEES, as it has bitten every team in one way or another.  First baseman Greg Bird is likely out for the season.  Pitcher Brian Mitchell may be out approximately three months, and pitcher Andrew Miller with a broken bone in his non throwing wrist may have been the luckiest, and will lose no playing time.

Several YANKEE WIN METHOD youngsters are blooming and growing and are on the roster to start the season, and several more are on the near horizon and will start their season in the minors.
Several years ago the WIN METHOD made a concerted effort to find pitching talent each season and the YANKEES drafted many of these youngsters.   The time is here for some of these youngsters and the time for others is just around the corner.

The YANKEE management led by the brilliant dealing of General Manager Brian Cashman have added several new players to this seasons roster and have deepened the bench for 2016.   Also, three very possible future stars are so near.  Catcher Gary Sanchez, right fielder Aaron Judge, and shortstop Jorge Mateo are getting closer to the major league roster every day.  Playing regularly in the minors right now is best for them and their development.  But they will soon be heard from.

Remember fans, it is a long season, there will be ups and downs, and as always only wins and winning will be the determining factor on which teams earn playoffs spots and go on to the second season.    Let the stat fraud fools play their fantasy games.   We will play for real baseball and root for our team to win and root for the contributions of each player to help our team win.

LETS GO YANKEES

Big win for Nova and the Yankee. The golden bullpen is fantastic. Keep them all.

Again tomorrow. Do it again, and again.

Back at .500 again.

After being refreshed in the bullpen Eovaldi gets another start tonight.

Beverly O said...

Is there any availability form the BMC tonight after being used two games is succession?

Swen Jorgenson said...

Beverly O, I would not think any of the three would pitch tonight. The way to make the whole point moot is to score a bakers dozen runs tonight.

Frank Sergi said...

Lets go guys. Take this series and then the next. Bury the naysayers.

Unknown said...

Swen
Are you suggesting how many CAN matter?!?!?

Victor Grandozi said...

Best case scenario tonight is we don't need to rely on bullpen. If as Swen mentioned be score a 'bakers dozen' all will be fine. If we need the bullpen Joe will just have to mix and match. Shreve in my opinion would be the mainstay.

Swen Jorgenson said...

Steven Fischer, How many runs the Yankees need to win tonights game is just one more than the Orioles score. My thought was that if BMC will not be available, who to use by Girardi wouldn't matter if we scored a bakers dozen runs.

I think you are confusing when it matters for a hitter to produce to help his team score and win.

How many 'CAN' matter always matters to be able to win. Scoring a bakers dozen tonight is useless if the Yankee pitchers hold the Orioles to just a couple of runs. Hope you are able to understand the difference.

Deb F said...

Swen, take Steven Fischer with a grain of salt. He either just like to take a contrarian view or just can't understand the WIN METHOD.

White Knight said...

Unless the Yankees ship someone in from Scranton and do not use BMC tonight they only have four relievers for tonights game.

Yankeedoodledandy said...

Lets go Yankees. Move forward.

Steve said...

Deb F, I think it is the contrarian view, because to understand the WIN METHOD is common sense.

Walt Bellamy said...

afraud is like a broken clock. Every once in a while he does something that helps the team.

Tonights lineup.
Brett Gardner LF
Jacoby Ellsbury CF
Carlos Beltran RF
Brian McCann C
Alex Rodriguez DH
Didi Gregorius SS
Starlin Castro 2B
Chase Headley 3B
Rob Refsnyder 1B

Unknown said...

I was really making a joke more than anything, but yes the big three could use some more rest which would be remedied if we were scoring more runs more consistently.

Deb, If I didn't take a contrarian view on things this blog would just be people saying the same thing over and over again (mostly, WHEN WHEN WHEN, yes we can, and bashing arod) - and that wouldn't be any fun would it??

OK, lets see what has happened since the All Star break. We have played 7 games against the top 2 teams in the division and among the best in baseball. We won 4 of the 7. Lets build on that positive week of baseball and take the next series.

Steve said...

A game of inches and what ifs. What if Beltrans hard grounder down the first base line in the first inning with men on first and second and no outs got past Oriole first baseman Chris Davis and at minimum one run scores and there are men on second and third and no outs. A game of inches.

Deb F said...

Steve, the whole game changes and what did actually happen likely does not happen the same way because everything is different.

Nick Polito said...

Tanaka, Nova, Eovaldi listed for the SF series this weekend.

Cal Fuerst said...

Steve & Deb F, I think if Beltrans ball goes down the line, the Yankees win the game with very possibly a three run or more first inning.

Steve said...

Cal, that was exactly what I was trying to show. An event at any time can change how the game is played, and what occurs in later innings.

Baseball is the greatest sport on Earth.

If we win this weekend series we can take another step forward.

Alex Antonius said...

Cole/NY, And we will. Yes we can.

Big series this weekend against an inferior league team that is one of that leagues best.

The Giants have their three best starters lined up for us. Can we beat them? Yes we can!

Patricia Piper said...

Winning this series will make for a great home stand against top teams.

Saul Irving said...

Even if we only win one game this weekend we would have a .500 home stand against three of the best teams in baseball.

Victor Grandozi said...

Saul, We can win more than one game.

Yankeeforever said...

My take on the trade area. I think the Yankees will trade Chapman (and hopefully only Chapman). He will command a very large salary and/or an extended year deal for next season. If the Yankees want him for next season they can join the bidding which they would have to do anyway if they keep him for this season. The advantage of trading him now is the ability of getting a player for him. The issue is how much value that return will be. The teams that need Chapman and want him will try to offer very little. The Yankee advantage is the teams who want him to hopefully have the team win it all this season need to either put up or shut up. I only want a player who can step into a position NOW.

Jimmy Thames said...

I agree Yankeeforever. They want to win now and dump someone they don't value on us and think we should be thankful. I rather see them lose without him.

Stanley Chin said...

Lets go guys. Take game one.

jimbo said...

Tonights lineup. Gardner the only lefty bat. Our AAA team could be as good as this lineup.

Friday 7/22 7:05pm

Masahiro Tanaka (R)

vs. Giants - Madison Bumgarner (L)

1. Brett Gardner (L) LF

2. Starlin Castro (R) 2B

3. Carlos Beltran (S) RF

4. Alex Rodriguez (R) DH

5. Chase Headley (S) 3B

6. Rob Refsnyder (R) 1B

7. Austin Romine (R) C

8. Aaron Hicks (S) CF

9. Ronald Torreyes (R) SS

White Knight said...

Would be fun to beat Bumgarner with this crew. This is type of lineup that big name starters have trouble with at times. they just haven't ever seen and or pitched against most of the names. Our biggest problem is afraud, but even a broken clock is right once.

Stan the Man said...

White Knight, that's why they play the games. The stat fraud low lives play it on paper and think Bumgarner can't lose. The stat frauds surrender, give up, and are the dregs of fandom.

LETS GO YANKEES, might be a really fun game to watch.

Ty Keel said...

Half the lineup doesn't care who is pitching and are just glad they are playing.

sid greenberg,nyc said...

Miller, like Betances gives up run in 8th. Game tied 2-2 with Yanks coming to bat in 8th. We need a run bad.

Cole/NJ said...

Just think how much better this team would be if afraud was chucked forever and a real live breathing honest, non drugged, clean player who could run and field were on the roster.

Jill Byrnes said...

If we take this game today and or tomorrows will could have just defeated two division leaders. Yes we can. Yes we will. Lets go Yankees.

Paul Hill said...

Cole/NJ, That would be the right thing to do.

Karl R said...

Joe Girardi has done a fantastic job this season playing handicapped with afraud on the roster. Always cool calm and collected. At least on the outside.

Steve said...

i was checking some posts at a Yankee forum I got kicked out from for posting facts, reality, wins, and winning. The posts demeaning the Yankee team, players, manager, and management are a disgrace beyond belief. Numerous post wishing for the team to lose. Numerous posts to make trades and ruin the team. That site is so dark that anyone who goes there and posts wisdom and supports the team and winning is demeaned, attacked, abused, and run out.

It is so nice and great to post here with the most intelligent baseball fans in the world.

bigbadwolf said...

Let me help you out Steve. I also have been bounced from several forums.

To put things into perspective, if you root for team to lose that you claim to be a fan of, that doesn't make you a fan, it makes you a degenerate.

3.Cueto 13-2
4.Sale 14-3
5.Porcello 12-2

These five have started 97 games with a record of 66-10 and 21 no decisions.
The stat frauds hated these rating based on winning which is what the pitchers are paid to do.
