WIN METHOD 2016 SEASON -- Only wins and winning determine the best.

The 2016 Major League Baseball season starts today.  The New York YANKEES first game will be tomorrow in New York against the Houston Astros.    The starting rotation has been decided, the twenty-five man roster has been decided, and tomorrow the drive for the playoffs will begin.  This is not fantasy baseball, played by stat fraud fools who live by meaningless individual statistics, this is real baseball where winning is determined by what all players on each team contribute to help their team win the most often.   These contributions are measured by wins and players producing at the right time, when it matters, and not by how much or how many stats they produce for themselves as their team fails.

The injury bug has bitten the YANKEES, as it has bitten every team in one way or another.  First baseman Greg Bird is likely out for the season.  Pitcher Brian Mitchell may be out approximately three months, and pitcher Andrew Miller with a broken bone in his non throwing wrist may have been the luckiest, and will lose no playing time.

Several YANKEE WIN METHOD youngsters are blooming and growing and are on the roster to start the season, and several more are on the near horizon and will start their season in the minors.
Several years ago the WIN METHOD made a concerted effort to find pitching talent each season and the YANKEES drafted many of these youngsters.   The time is here for some of these youngsters and the time for others is just around the corner.

The YANKEE management led by the brilliant dealing of General Manager Brian Cashman have added several new players to this seasons roster and have deepened the bench for 2016.   Also, three very possible future stars are so near.  Catcher Gary Sanchez, right fielder Aaron Judge, and shortstop Jorge Mateo are getting closer to the major league roster every day.  Playing regularly in the minors right now is best for them and their development.  But they will soon be heard from.

Remember fans, it is a long season, there will be ups and downs, and as always only wins and winning will be the determining factor on which teams earn playoffs spots and go on to the second season.    Let the stat fraud fools play their fantasy games.   We will play for real baseball and root for our team to win and root for the contributions of each player to help our team win.

LETS GO YANKEES

Oh my stat frauds. The team with the most hits, lost. The team that produced when it mattered, won.

Phil Jenkins said...

My logic for a Chapman deal....Whatever team that wants him wants to win it all this season and a lock down closer is their need. In return I want a player who can immediately make my team and play everyday. They get their best shot to win it all now, we get a chance to make the playoffs.

Ty Keel said...

Phil Jenkins, I think your logic is common sense. Why help another team win the WS and not get value now, instead of perceived value and/or a future maybe hopeful.

White Knight said...

WIN METHOD fans. We just took down two division leaders, aka playoff teams. We won five of seven games.
YES WE CAN.

KevMac said...

Michael Pineda tonight in Houston in the first of three games. Keep the train rolling.

bigbadwolf said...

The Yankees and Cubs have reached a tentative agreement on a deal for Chapman. It looks like Yankees will get a kid named Torres who is highly regarded by the stat frauds. That means nothing unless he is passed by WIN METHOD.

Phil Jenkins said...

There better be more. Torres is only 19 years old and playing pretty good on the Cubs high A team. But there still should be more.

sid greenberg,nyc said...

Guys, the rumor says the Cubs are trying to extend Chapman for two years. Think, why would Chapman sign and extension when he is a free agent at the end of this season? Unless the Cubs blow him away he would be foolish not to test the open market. It ain't over till it's over.

bigbadwolf said...

It looks as if Adam Warren may be coming back to the Yankees if the Chapman deal goes thru.

Phil Jenkins said...

I can accept Warren as part of the deal. We go back to him in the 7th, Betances 8th, and Miller closing.

yankeeclipper21 said...

Lets take this series with game one tonight.

Unknown said...

bigbadwolf - "highly regarded by the stat frauds". I think it's more fair to say he's highly regarded by scouts and organizations around baseball no? His actual numbers aren't eye popping but the belief is as a 19 year old playing against players older than he is, he still has a ton of development and can turn out to be a special player.

YankeeMike said...

Deal is done. Yankees get Torres and Warren. A kid named McKinney and another named Crawford.

bigbadwolf said...

Steven Fischer, None of what you say really matters. It is what WIN METHOD says, and I would think WIN METHOD got back Adam Warren who was his personal selection way back. And I bet WIN METHOD gave the Yankees the ok on Torres.

Saul Irving said...

bigbadwolf, Don't forget the other two guys, one or both may have been liked more by WIN METHOD.

Yeah sorry bigbadwolf, are you somehow saying age and ability don't matter in baseball? That's ludicrous.

Trust me when I say fear is not an emotion I have in the slightest towards win method. I actually like some of the ideas of it. However I think throwing out stats because they don't tell the whole story 100 percent of the time is silly, stats have become a big part of the game, even with the Yankees internally, and your refusal to accept it shows me you're old and stubborn and stuck in your ways - certainly not more intelligent as the people here like to boast they are.

Eddie
Like I said with the intelligence post - the WINMETHOD is simplistic, instead of modifying it to integrate new available data, it simply ignores it. I hate to break it to you, that's not intelligent, that's blissful ignorance.

You stated "throwing out stats because they don't tell the whole story 100 percent of the time is silly." On the other hand the WIN METHOD tells the whole story all the time, every time. I would think it foolish to use something that doesn't tell the whole story before using the WIN METHOD that does tell the whole story.

You have been told that most everyone here uses stats to some degree. Real stats, not make up convoluted formulas that cloud views and mislead fans.

The people here are the most intelligent fans because by using and believing in the WIN METHOD they are always aware of who is the best in the game.

How come you, nor anyone else, brings up other stats. The Rays out homered the Yankees tonight which was a big part of victory.

Hits is one of a multitude of statistics, and the fact that you all only quote that is, well, really silly. also for the record, Rays sent 2-9 with RISP and Yankees went 1-9, which also contributed to the victory for the Rays. See, using ALL the stats together paints a more complete picture- ya understand?

Unknown said...

Oh and I thought the quote by Joe Girardi last night nailed it, and admitted something you all refuse to admit

"Usually, to be a winning team, you have to be pretty close to being on the positive side of that," Girardi said. "To be really over .500, you have to be substantially there.”

So yeah- even the Yankee organization doesn't agree with your philosophy.

Victor Grandozi said...

After last nights loss, need to bounce back today and tomorrow. Eovaldi starts tonights game.

Deb F said...

Steven Fischer, you seem very unable to understand the fact that wins and winning tells the entire story of a game, a series, a month or a season of baseball. The Rays also scored a man from third via a ground out. Scored twice as many times as the Yankees with RISP. And hit two HRs which are instant runs. But the Rays were outhit and still won. The whole point of playing the game is to win. Wins can be earned so many ways it would take volumes to enumerate them. How a win is earned is not really important as you erroneously try to make it out to be. The win itself is the only thing that matters. All the other stuff is for the stat frauds to play with.

Please put your Girardi "quote" into some sort of context. I have no idea what you are trying to imply.

will-i-am said...

Nathan Eovaldi goes tonight to try to even this series. WINS, all we want is WINS. All that counts is WINS. WINS determines everything.

Unknown said...

It was regarding the importance of run differential of a team.

William Mensom said...

How many times has WIN METHOD told us from the beginning, it is never how much nor how many a player attains, but it is WHEN it is attained that matters. How many times has the same been echoed here by so many fans who really know baseball and are the most intelligent fans in the world. There is only one outcome, and only one stat that matters, WINNING and WINS. If anyone does not accept or understand this FACT, then they do not know baseball and are fooling themselves.

Brian Cowley said...

When you score just one run, it makes not to much difference if your starter gives up two or ten. It is still a loss.

Deb F said...

Steven Fischer, run differential is yet another meaningless stat. Its only use may be possibly to show how easily you are winning games. Carried to its extreme, and carrying any stat to their extreme shows what importance they have, (this has been used here and elsewhere over and over, but pooh poohed and or ignored by stat frauds, a team can win 100 games by 1 run and lose 62 by 2 runs. Guaranteed the playoffs with a -24 run differential.....I think someone posted here the Twins won the WS in the 80's with a negative run differential season.
Now if you take winning and wins to their ultimate extent you get perfection. Sorry Steven, but facts do kill and the WIN METHOD is fact. You win you are the best.

Unknown said...

Fact - the team that wins during the year the most is the best (namely the World Series), I agree with this, I never have not.

Fact - statistics do have meaning, that's why they are used by every organization, and thus are not meaningless. The quote from Joe Girardi shows he too believes they have meaning. The Yankees have acquired players based on statistical analysis who have came here and then succeeded. Who would I side with more, Joe Girardi and the Yankee organization or Deb F and Internet man who has not been seen or heard from outside this blog....hmmmmmm

Fact - Statistics are used for things outside of who was the best, i.e. projections, individual player performance, etc. Wins can't be used for this because they give no context for how a team has changed from year to year.

Fact - Pointing out that one team had more hits than the other and still lost doesn't mean anything to anybody, yet is continually used here.

Facts DO kill, you're right.

Tommy Lee said...

Deb F, I don't think the stat frauds were ever taught conceptual conclusions. For something to be valid at all times it must be taken to its very end to see if it is still valid.

jimbo said...

To each their own. Some like and live in the fantasy world of lala land. Others like and live in the real world.

To try to conflate stats mean something and who is best is fraudulent aka stat fruad. It has been acknowledged here that a hitter hits for the highest average gets on base via hits at a higher rate than a hitter with a lower average. THAT DOES NOT MAKE HIM THE BEST HITTER. The same can be said for any other stat you wish to use. Only wins and winning determines the best of the best.

"Wonderful stuff guys. That's shoving their meaningless stats and scouting down their throat." - yes, some one DID post that.

Reconcile this one for me johnsondc:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_New_York_Yankees_first-round_draft_picks

Since Derek Jeter, the Yankees have been awful with their first round draft picks. Has winmethod lost his touch?

Yanks down 3-2 after 4.

Steven Fischer, did ever think for a minute that when WIN METHOD selects a player he may be drafted before the Yankees get a chance to select?

PS---not every poster speaks for everyone. Everyone has an opinion and some may be harsher than others.

Still down 3-2 thru 5.

Okay but some one still said it, so you were incorrect.

And I think that's an excuse, and a lame one at that. It's nice that winmethod takes all the credit for successes and none for failure.

Have you ever thought for a minute that he might just not be that great of a talent evaluator?

Yanks down 3-2 after 6.

We need some runs guys. Lets win this game.

Swarzak come in for the 7th and allows 3 runs digging the Yankee hole deeper as they now trail 6-2 after 7.

Steven Fischer, It is best to rate someone on the results they have gotten. Since the inception of the WIN METHOD the Yankees have had the best record in baseball and also have reached the playoffs the most often, won the most pennants, and won the most World Series. Enough said, that is all there is and needs to be said. Clearly the best.

Stop dwelling on the past white knight, look at the present.

Yankees have been bad for a few years now, haven't won a single playoff game since 2012. Have been one of the poorest team at developing players internally (which in part has led to the bloated payroll)

Winmethod is dying, it may even been dead. Evolve, or die.

Yanks go down 6-3 as one of the greatest cheats of the game, afraud, batting clean up strikes out all four at bats creating the deepest black hole there can be.

Dream on Steven Fischer, dream on.

We really need to win tomorrows game and get back on track quickly.

Pineda tomorrow and the team needs a win.

White Knight, Steven Fischers stats are so useless he has to try to demean the one tool that has been proven the best in the game. Watch what happens when the Yanks start getting the youngsters onto the roster. Sanchez, Judge, Louie Louie, Mitchell, Bird, etc.

Carl
It's funny you name those guys, who are also the most highly touted prospects by every resource because of the stats they've put up in the minors...it's not like you guys here are the only ones who know about those players.

i hope they do succeed, but youre asking a lot for all of them to be successful.

White Knight and Carl Hooks- really weak response as you obviously have nothing intelligent to say. Hey Carl, how do you even know WInMethod is involved with the organization at all?

Can we salvage one game of this series.

Steven Fischer, WIN METHOD knew about some of them long before scouts ever knew their names.

KevMac listed a bunch on number scout loving stat fraud losers loved that were pathetic wastes. Gotta love those scouts and their garbage stats.

I never met WIN METHOD but several posters here have.

Getting back to KevMacs list of all time scout losers. I would love to meet and ask all those scouts why they were so wrong, every one of them. Meaningless stats kill.

Have you met the people who met him, or you just believe everything you read on the Internet. You have no clue if he knew of them beforehand since you've never seen nor spoken to him, so you're just making stuff up now.

As I've proven with how bad the Yankees recent drafts have been, winmethod has been wrong a number of times too. I would love to ask him why he was so wrong, why the win method didn't work on all the prospects signing etc.

So wrong that this Yankee team just traded Andrew Miller and is officially in rebuild mode.

One of the great things about this blog is the way it allows stat frauds to come here express their opinions, attack the WIN METHOD, and ultimately make fools of themselves.

johnsondc said...

Miller traded to the Tribe for four prospects. Betances is now the closer.

There is a whole lot of stuff going on.

Tyler Clippard coming back to Yankees.

The Yankees roster for 2017 is going to have a lot of youth on it and be substantially different than this seasons.

Bob Behan said...

I'll live with anything the Yankees do. I wish for only one simple thing. Kick afraud off the team forever. He is a cancer, a liar, a cheat, and a fraud.
