WIN METHOD MO

By now most YANKEE fans have heard the terrible news about the greatest closer in baseball history, Mariano Rivera.  Mo tore his right ACL shagging flies in the outfield in Kansas City before last nights game.   Rivera will have to decide to come back or not.  He was thinking of retiring after this year.  My wife and I just had lunch with Mo in Baltimore in early April.  I am so sad and I am shedding tears as many YANKEE fans will.  I hope Mo decides to return and leave baseball from the mound as he deserves.  You are loved Mo.  In life, one never knows what will happen, but we must play the cards we are dealt and move forward.

What will the YANKEES do to replace Rivera for this season.  They have decisions to make.  We will all have opinions, here is mine.  Robertson becomes the closer.  I would move either Phelps or Hughes to the bullpen as setup man along with Soriano.  I would tell Soriano he needs to step up big time.  Joba may be back for the second half of the season.  Starters would be CC, Kuroda, Nova, Pettitte, (Phelps or Hughes) or someone who may be ready to step in.  Adam Warren is a possibility.  Mitchell to the bullpen.  Play for six innings from the starters and finish off the seventh, eight, by any of the group or combinations of the group with Robertson closing it out.

Have a team meeting and a no feeling sorry for yourselves wake up talk.  Jeter will lead the way, he always has.  The lineup needs to step up and stop taking big dollars for not producing.  Yes, Arod, you are the number one culprit.  But there are other right now.  Grind out every day every game and make the playoffs.  Damn it, play WIN METHOD baseball.   You can't win every game, but you can win enough to move to the second season.

We are YANKEES and we are WIN METHOD.  We are the best.  Lets hear it fans........

Cross your fingers as the Yankee pitchers bat at the inferior league parks.

Isn't the rotation Nova, CC, Kuroda.

johnsondc said...

Yes rick, that should be the rotation. but there is a lot of rain forecast down that way.

Phil Jenkins said...

There is no question the CC and Nova are the best one two punch in baseball. Add in Pettitte, Hughes, and Kuroda and you have one heck of a rotation that is very likely the best in baseball.

William Mensom said...

We are going great right now. But fans, remember one of WIN METHODS greatest tenets. 'No team is as good as they appear when they are red hot, and no team is as bad as they appear when they are ice cold.'

Eddie OConnor said...

Oh how true William. But it is sure nice to be hot. Just have to limit the cold spells. Nice win for two straight sweeps now.

Mark D said...

The train is moving very nicely. All without Mo, Robertson, and Joba. A true testament on just how great the WIN METHOD is and how deep this team is.

This is what a stat fraud, and extra ignorant one may I add, posted as Jeter was coming up in the 7th with the bases loaded and one out..."""They need to ph for Jeter here""". Wrong, fraud. Jeter delivers the single that breaks the game open.

Saul Irving said...

Robertson come in for the 9th. a perfect spot to get his feet wet. He allows a run, a meaningless one but closes out the 9th. Yanks win it 7-2.

Nice to see Robertson get back and get an inning of work without pressure. Girardi is a genius at putting people in the right spot at the right time.

Pettitte 2 runs in 7 innings + bullpen 1 run in 7 innings = WIN.

CC for the sweep.

WIN METHOD said...

For anonymous at basketball forum. I, and am sure all the knowledgeable WIN METHOD fans here gladly accept your challenge and that of anyone who thinks individual stats are more important than wins and winning.

To force WIN METHOD fans to have to sign up and post at a forum over run with advertisements and cluttered with debris is not what the WIN METHOD is about. Just as you were able to post anonymously (with no name provided) and did not have to go through a meaningless signup process, I think it far more logical that any of your stat fraud cronies come here and post legitimate questions and concerns that any WIN METHOD fan can address with common sense and logic. Here at the WIN METHOD blog, there are no tedious signup procedures, no page cluttering advertisements, just good intelligent baseball wisdom. Carry on, the ball is in your court and the WIN METHOD fans are winning already. Remember, no profanity allowed, good luck.

bigbadwolf said...

CC for the sweep today. Step up CC, you are being challenged for #1.

Stan the Man said...

Jeter delivers when it counts. Two out bases loaded single up the middle for the tying and go ahead runs. Yanks up 3-2 after five.

Linda Rice said...

Another brilliant defensive play by jeter, the best shortstop in the game. Bullet hit up the middle, Jeter makes full out dive to glove the ball and get the force out at second. Hi lite play.

Sean Smith said...

Tex with HR in 6th, Jeter with another 2 out rbi single in the 7th and the Yanks lead 5-2 after 7.

Unfortunately with the Yankees playing the Braves and Mets again this week, the win streak most likely has to come to an end. It is very unlikely one team can beat two others 6 straight teams each. All good things must come to an end.

Gene A said...

We are getting hammered. Down 6-2 in the sixth.

Cory said...

2 losses in a row. All around bad game today.

johnsondc said...

Afraud does it again. delivers for the opposing team. As the Yankees clawed their way back this afternoon Afraud dashed the teams hope with yet another double play grounder with the tying run at third base and a runner on at first. The score was 6-5 and a fly ball ties the game. but no, the fraud fails again and again, over and over.

Jorge Hernandez said...

Two losses in a row is not good. Day off today and three games with the Mets this weekend. We need to bounce back. Rotation, Pettitte, Nova, CC.

MomanRick said...

We better not take the Mets lightly, they are surely looking for revenge.

Gus Papa said...

Yep, it should be bang up weekend. the Mets scare me. They are playing very much WIN METHOD type of baseball.

Sharon/NC said...

We needed last nights win. It wasn't easy, but it counts.

Five of six from the Mets in 2012. I guess everyone knows who the best team in NY is.

Yanks up 7-0 afte 5. Kuroda very sharp tonight. Jeter, the best defensive shortstop in baseball makes two spectacular defensive plays tonight.

Steve said...

YANKEES dominate the Cleveland Indians tonight as Hiroki Kuroda comes up with a very sharp one run effort. Rapada a 1,2,3 eights and Garcia a 1,2,3 ninth. Shortstop Derek Jeter makes two more spectacular defensive plays. Ho hum, just another win.

MomanRick said...

Just an all around nice game tonight. The bullpen gets break and things are still moving along very nicely.

William Mensom said...

Garcia was hitting 90 on his fastbll last night. When he does that he can be a very effective pitcher considering all the movement on his other pitches.
