What a gorgeous spring in Tampa, spring training home of the YANKEES. Captain Derek Jeter has taken charge and is showing the ropes to the youngsters and conveying the WIN METHOD attitude. Everyone looks in splendid shape and all are working hard to reach the goal of 28 in 12, nothing else. As all WIN METHOD fans know, the key to winning is performing WHEN it counts, making the big defensive play and doing what is needed at the plate to help decide the game WHEN it matters most. The thought of amassing great individual stats has shown to be meaningless if you do not help your team WIN. Baseball is played for the team to win with every player on the team contributing in their own various ways.
Manny Banuelos and Dellin Betances are very close to making significant contributions to the big team and either or both may be called up at anytime this year. The addition of Pinedo and Kuroda to go along with Sabathia and Nova while Hughes and Garcia fill out a solid six man starting staff, make for one of the best rotation in baseball. The bullpen, believe it or not , will be better than last years best in baseball. We also have several men trying to be the second left hander in the bullpen. Whom will it be?
Much of the YANKEE success in 2012 will depend on Alex Rodriguez, who has been talking WIN METHOD talk. We will see if he walks the WIN METHOD walk in 2012. If he does what he always did we will get what we always got. A lineup that has to try to deliver and win, playing around the black hole in the lineup. If Alex can play WIN METHOD baseball, we can have a very promising year. That is a very big IF.
We have solid backup rotation pitchers in AAA if the need arises. Adam Warren leading the pack. Warren, if in another organization would be a starting major league pitcher now. In the YANKEE organization, Warren is surrounded by so much talent, it is hard to get to the big team.
There are no imminent needs right now and even if a key player goes down, there is enough depth to make any loss less devastating.
We did not get Yu Darvish, and as everyone has seen Darvish did not sign with the Rangers until the very last day. He wanted to go back to Japan. However his Japanese team wanted the 51.7 million dollars more than they wanted Darvish. Darvish wanted to play for the YANKEES. But, what is, is. We skipped on CJ Wilson, who was not WIN METHOD. The backup plan succeeded and we traded Montero for Pineda and Campos. We lost a great talent in Montero, but he did not fit the team needs and we did get what we needed in the deal.
Jorge Posada retired and now we are down to two of the core four. Mariano Rivera and Derek Jeter are still going strong. Think of it YANKEE fans, we have the best reliever and the best position player in baseball over the past twenty years anchoring this 2012 team. All those playoffs, pennants, and World Series rings. No other player in baseball has helped their team to more wins and successes than Rivera and Jeter.
In a few weeks we play WHEN it counts and play to achieve 28 in 12.

I agree, things are sure looking good. 28 in 12.
I don't believe I am not the first to respond. Welcome back WIN METHOD. Love ya.
What a bunch of poorly written crap. Darvish wanted to go to the Yankees? Based on what? Your imaginary interview with him? Alex Rodriguez is a blackhole in the lineup? My God your posts get stupider and stupider
Win when it counts with everyone doing what is needed to win. To bad the stat frauds are unable to grasp that concept.
We got a no-name loser again. Maybe you will learn something anonymous. The truth shall set you free.
Why would anyone come here and read a very logical well written blog entry and say it is poorly written.
There is nothing wrong with disagreeing or not believing what is written, but it sure shows ignorance to say it is poorly written.
Thanks for the update WIN METHOD.
3-1 Yankees after 2. Pineda on mound.
Anonymous is probably a closet stat fraud who knows he can't win in the real world.
Solid outing for the Yankees today. 8-3 win. Hitting and pitching was good.
No question Darvish is a good pitcher. It will be interesting to see just how well he does in Texas.
Game on TV today. Still the best baseball blog going.
The Yankees have split squad games today so everyone able will get some action in. Mo makes his first appearance today.
Hughes gets his second start today and Girardi will manage the Twins game Hughes is pitching and letting Perez manage the Phillies game CC is pitching.
CC and Hughes pitch three innings of shutout ball each this afternoon. Hughes was superb. Mo then throws his first inning of this spring and it is three up three down.
A very nice day for Yankee pitchers today. The season is coming and we can get off to a great start.
It is amazing. WIN METHOD posts a blog, makes comments, and the next day things happen just as he says.
Looks like an excellent effort from Hughes.
Lets keep building like WIN METHOD has shown us. So many real good prospects.
Kuroda starts our first spring night game tonight. Keep the ball rolling.
Kuroda three shutout innings last night. Two more solid shutout innings from Betances also.
Another night game today. Nova gets the start against the bosux.
Keep everything moving Ivan. Get those solid innings and work in.
Nova four dominating innings against the bosux tonight. Outing could be described as brilliant. Mo goes one scoreless inning and breaks three bats.
Logan and Phelps finished off game with both looking solid last night.
The pitching is deep with a boat load of talent in the minors also.
We have the bosux in an afternoon game today.
No Ty, we play the Blue Jays today. Garcia hit with batted ball in pitching hand and taken out of the game to be checked out.
Garcia hit in pitching hand by batted ball and taken for x-rays. Banuelos poor showing. Mitchell three brilliant innings. Go figure.
Today we play the Nationals with Pineda facing an old Yankee past star Wang.
Robertson has been throwing all week and will throw off the mound this weekend and have a few bullpen sessions before throwing in a game.
Garcia x-rays negative.
28 in 12.
Thanks Stan. All good news.
I see Darvish looked terrible in his 2nd outing. Hey it's only spring training. Lets see what he does when it counts.
Good effort form Pineda. Better effort from Wang who looked like his brilliant two great years with the Yankees. However, Wang removed from game with 2 out in the third after fielding a ground ball and stumbling getting the unassisted out at first and injuring something in his leg. What rotten luck for Wang.
Hope Wang is OK. We have CC tomorrow. Just build pitch count and get ready for a long season.
Up and at em and off to work. the good thing, will be home to watch this afternoons game. Go Yankees. 28 in 12.
WHEN it counts baseball approaching rapidly.
Hughes has looke fantastic today again.
How about Andy Pettitte signing a minor league deal with the Yankees. Just that more depth.
WIN METHOD was right when he said Pettitte was returning, only it was a year later.
Kuroda makes his third spring start today.
Getting back to Pettitte, it will be interesting to see if he make the team from the minors and just how long Andy will cotton to the minors.
The first roster cuts have been made. I won't waste your time by posting them, they are easy to find. Plus you are WIN METHOD fans and not stupid.
Still spring training guys. Build arm strength, work on pitches, work on control and spotting pitches, then win when it counts. when the real season starts.
Kuroda has thrown three great innings today and the Yankees are up 5-0 with Cano hitting his first spring training HR.
Mo does his thing for an inning and Wade goes two scoreless.
If Pettitte can come back at the major league level, he will be an asset. If he can't, he can't, and it really doesn't hurt us.
The key for Andy will be if he can be effective at the major league level again. If yes, then he will be a help. But just think of what he can do for the youngsters on his team in the minors. More WIN METHOD development.
Night game with the Orioles and Nova gets the start. Guys will start going four to six innings now.
Will Pettitte make a spring training appearance?
Nova goes four innings getting his work in, but also allows 5 runs and 7 hits.
How many minor leaguers get to have a player like Pettitte as a team mate? This move can't hurt the kids and will only help them become better.
Off day today. First of season. Robertson is ready to go full tilt.
Just over two weeks to the opening of 2012 season. Time to organize and setup the rotation.
Lets go Yankees 28 in 12.
Another night game. Pirates tonight. Pineda on mound.
Pineda looks good going 3 innings, striking out 5 in Yanks 10-3 win over Pirates last night. Mo goes another scoreless inning.
Used a whole bunch of relievers last night and only one run given up.
Getting close to come together time. Play for real wins in two weeks.
Hughes super thru four.
Hughes finished out five solid innings and was in command. the Yanks then auditioned lefty after lefty and each performed well with all throwing shut out innings. The staff and depth is getting better and better, and deeper and deeper.
Better yet Hughes pitched against our main AL East rival in the Rays.
Just a moment of decorum here. We play the fine Boston Red Sox team tonight. Whom we all know so fondly as the bosux.
good one wolfie. I prefer bosux.
Pleeease post more often. And if possible, stick to bashing the use of statistics. I want to further understand how to apply WIN METHOD into my daily life. WIN METHOD is clearly the way to go. The Jets proved that yesterday by trading for WIN METHOD TEBOW.
Every once in a while my buddies and I get into a discussion about baseball. We are pretty much evenly split on winning players versus statistical players. I always try impress on them the WIN METHOD point of WHEN a player does something as opposed to how many times he does something. I try to get them to look at comparing going 5-6 in a rout compared to going 1-4 both in wins. The only thing that counts is the win to the team and the players on the team.
Annon:...The WIN METHOD to my knowledge has never been used in any sport other than baseball. I would then think it would be silly to assume a player is WIN METHOD. There are two aspects of the WIN METHOD. The interview and the rating. In the interview a player is determined to be WIN METHOD or not based on his responses. In the rating system players are rated on how much they help their team win and only on the role they play for that team. Two completely different worlds. You may want to read the entire blog so you may be able to understand.
PS. The interview is only for the Yankees and the person has no idea that this is the purpose of the interview.
Lets keep up the great pitching against the sux tonight.
Looks like we had another hit and run no name no brainer.
Remember when WIN METHOD posted his special draft selection back in 2009. Adam Warren was his name and he pitched four dominant shutout innings against the bosux tonight with the sux using their starting lineup. Betances then threw three very good shutout innings.
What solid pitching. So many fine prospects. Wade did not do himself any favors last night. Wonder if the Yanks will let him go. Hate to say that based on one outing. But that will allow Garcia to fill Wades role and open a roster spot. Put up or shut up is the term.
Think of this. The Yankee AAA club will have a starting rotation where all five are within a year of being starting pitchers in the majors. With a lineup that is not far behind.
Split squad games today.
And yes William, our sage, is dead on right again.
Nova gets the start in the TV game against the Twinkies. Jeter back in lineup and lines basehit ti right to lead off game.
Bad news YANKEE fans. Joba severely broke his ankle today and will likely miss the season. The kid is jinxed. Our deep bullpen will not be compromised.
What rotten luck for Joba.
So sad for Joba. Still love you WIN METHOD.
Say it isn't so about Joba. No luck at all.
Greetings from London. Love to win.
Tough luck for Joba. He had surgery already this afternoon.
In the other split squad game today Kuroda went 5 2/3 strong innings. both Kuroda and Nova are ready for the season.
Good luck Joba. The show must go on.
Very nice outings from Nova and Kuroda today.
Sorry to hear about Jobas misfortune. Keep a positive outlook Joba. There is still a future ahead of you.
Winning is all that matters. A team can win in countless ways but the winnings is what I want for my team in all sports.
I see the WIN METHOD has popped up in quite a few baseball talk forums this past month. When you read some of them, you will get a grasp on just how ignorant so many people in this world are. The majority of the negatives are from fans of losing teams, or stat frauds who worship stats over winning.
Don't get down Joba. Work through yet another obstacle thrown in front of you. Fight for yourself and your family. You will pitch and star for the YANKEES again.
WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN
Nice comments Linda. I second those comments. Hang tough Joba, you can and you will come back. Never give up.
With Andy back we now have 3 of the core four. Jeter seemed very pleased when Jack Curry interviewed him the other day about Andys return.
Freddy Garcia finished 4 1/3 innings of one hit two walk pitching against the Tigers. Pineda may be the odd man out right now.
I used the WIN METHOD to ask a girl on a date and now we are getting married. Thank you WIN METHOD for teaching me what the stat frauds could not: that WINNING is the ultimate arbiter of success.
Nice game again for Yankee pitchers today. Cabral big again with a 1,2,3 10th inning save on 5 pitches.
In another few game Girardi should start the regular season starting lineup.
With Joba not coming back this summer that keeps that roster spot open for someone who can produce WHEN it counts.
The Yankees host the Tigers today with Pineda getting the start. Step up Michael.
Pineda may be a great prospect and all. But he is going to have to earn his spot in the rotation, the same as everyone else. It will be up to him.
Another ten innings of brilliant Yankee pitching today. Pineda five, Mo one, and Robertson for one for his first outing from his foot injury. Good stuff Yankee fans.
It's nice to see Robertson back. Soriano has been solid also. Mo is Mo, the best ever.
Whoever they may be, we will have a quality rotation with instant replacement capabilities if needed.
Lets keep it rolling. Can't wait until we use our 'A' lineup.
Are you an axe murderer?
Off day today. 28 in 12 is around the corner.
Another no brain no name. Has to be a stat fraud, has nothing to say and when says something, it is stupid.
Sabathia goes for Yanks in a night exhibition game against the Blue Jays.
Should get 5 or 6 innings from CC today.
The drive for 28 in 12 is around the corner.
It would be nice to get the season started well. 28 in 12 in the end is the goal.
CC is about do to give us a top notch season ready performance.
28 in 12. One more time.
We need some stat frauds over here again. It's been a long time.
CC went six innings and got his work in. Both Cabral and Rapada threw one inning in their audition for a roster spot. Robertson also for an inning of solid work.
Girardi has stretched the Yankee starters very nicely this spring. All seem ready to be able to go six to seven innings in opening week. With the strong bullpen that should be enough.
I know it is spring training, and maybe I'm overly reaacting, but I have been a little disappointed with CC so far.
game time
Kuroda a very solid one run five innings so far today.
Kuroda completes seven innings allowing two runs on six hits and no walks. He's ready. Cory Wade has been the big disappointment of spring as far as I am concerned.
Very solid effort from Kuroda. Yank staff looks like it is pretty much ready to roll.
CC will be fine Robbi. He knows what he is doing.
Game is tonight with the O's. Build for the season opener.
Yanks used minor league pitchers tonight and Rivera got in another shut out inning. Nova went 7.1 allowing 3 runs in a minor league game. Very strong outing.
One week from today we will start on the road to 28 in 12. we start on the road in Tampa against our closet competitor.
To keep all the starters pitching regularly I would think a youngster with options will be sent to AAA or a trade is made. I rather not see a trade right now.
Pineda should get a good test tonight starting against the Phillies. At least six plus innings?
If Pineda does well, it has to make Girardis decision on pitchers that more difficult. A good situation though.
Best case scenario has Pineda throwing lights out tonight. Nice problem to have.
With tonight start I think Pineda just punched his ticket to AAA.
Rapada and Cabral each put up a scoreless inning tonight. Nice battle.
Jeter has sure looked good this spring.
Pineda complains of sore shoulder and will have MRI. The Yanks will go slow with him and that solves the rotation question for the start of the season.
I am not worried about Pineda, my worry is Afraud. After all his talk of working out all winter and being ready for a great year, the past week he has looked like his pathetic lineup killing self. Ugh!
Pineda is lucky he is a Yankee. They do not need to nor will they rush him back.
Any help Arod can give us cannot hurt. Other than that we will just play around him like we always have.
Pineda is young and can be brought along slowly.
If anything, the rotation is set for now and that has to be good for the starters to know. But they will have to pitch their way to holding their spot.
I am chomping at the bit for the start of the season.
Cabral having MRI on elbow this afternoon. Rapada to start season as second lefty out of the bullpen.
Cabral MRI shows stress fracture in elbow.
Through it all, training is drawing to a close and the season will start and we will play with what we have and win 28 in 12.
CC goes today as YANKEES travel to Marlins new ballpark in Miami for an afternoon game. CC's last start before opening day in Tampa. YANKEES open 2012 on road in Tampa and do not have to travel to get there.
Warren got win in yesterdays start. Nice piece to have in AAA.
Tough break for Cabral who worked so hard and did so well.
I would look for Sabathia to throw 90 or so pitches today. Four days off and he is ready to go Friday. Nice there are no rain outs in Tampa.
Just saw our fraud third baseman do something stupid on a ground ball that even a little leaguer would have been smart enough not to do. Cost the Yanks a run. And it will not show up in the boxscore or stats. Yes again, stats are meaningless.
I saw it. Give me a break. I'll just accept it as a brain freeze.
Nice all around outing today. Good to Swisher back and he hit the ball hard with a home run.
28 in 12. Get it done guys. Get it done.
I think I understand why many people are against the WIN METHOD. Most teams lose and their fans do not understand winning. So anything that shows winning teams and winning players they shy away from. They should try to embrace winning, then they can accept the winners as the best.
johnsondc, what I think is more frustrating is that these fans have been beaten down so much, they hate winning and winners. They vent at the winners and spew their venom at fans who know winning defines the best.
Kuroda on the mound against the Marlins tonight in his final appearance before his game 2 start in Tampa Saturday. Lets get ready for baseball.
Looks like everyone got a nice tuneup last night and all looked pretty good. Nice win, just got to save those wins for when it counts.
Get sharp guys, it is almost time for real baseball. 28 in 12.
Nova didn't look good today. Nest start is for real. We shall see.
Yankee last spring training game today. Rays Friday afternoon for season opener.
Stay healthy guys, and win. 28 in 12.
Pettitte threw a one hit scoreless inning today and Roberston a three strikeout scoreless inning.
Training is done. Day off. Real baseball when it counts begins. 28 in 12 is the goal.
Look out fans, the Bronx Bombers are about to take off. 28 in 12.
Sabathia vs. Shields for the opener tomorrow.
Right on Teena. Time to win. wins carry the season.
Yankee baseball is back. Lets roll.
To open the season on the right foot.
Where have all the stat fraud gone, where have they gone? Talking with themselves on the stat fraud forums knocking wins and winning while lauding losses and losers.
Great post johnsondc. Go Yankees. 28 in 12.
Opening day is here. Seven hours away. Lets roll. 28 in 12.
Get the win CC. If you win the team wins.
OK fans, reality here. Todays opener is just one game. No team wins all their games, but the teams who win the most over the entire season go to the playoffs. One win at a time. Baby steps over six months.
Three hours until Captain Jeter leads off the season.
Play as a team guys. Do the little things that win games. WIN METHOD baseball not me stat fraud baseball.
Love ya WIN METHOD. Have a great trip and a winning one.
It's for real, let's start the season.
Yanks down 4-2 after 2 as CC gives up grand slam in 1st inning.
CC Yankee ace vs. Shields Rays ace. 6-5 Yanks after 3.
Six innings complete. 6-5 Yanks and CC goes six with over 100 pitches and Shields goes five with over 100 pitches.
Mo blows it in the ninth. Rays 7-6.
UGH!!! One thing i have learned from WIN METHOD. Be positive, and when you start out behind you have something to chase after. Long season.
The 2012 Yankees are not WIN METHOD
Kuroda starts game two tonight. Price goes for the rays.
CC hasn't looked sharp all spring and it carried over to open the season. When it gets sharp look out.
Tough loss yesterday. But it is a long season.
Fraud alert, fraud alert, we have another gutless anonymous that doesn't know their A from their E.
WIN METHOD fans here is a great read based on exactly what WIN METHOD is.

Even the series tonight guys.
Revenge and WIN METHOD baseball.
Have to try to battle back from another 4-0 deficit.
Scored six runs in both games and lost both games. How about a 1-0 win.
Happy Easter Yankee fans. Lets rebound today.
Happy Easter Sunday to all.
Phil, leave the Rays an Easter present, a big fat goose egg.
Hughes can be the hero today. A win will make the weekend tolerable.
Oh ya, Happy Easter people.
Three games three losses. the Rays sweep us.
Not a good way to start the season. Rays 3-0.
Shut out today. Hughes looked good but threw a lot of pitches.
You don't win unless you score. No runs today, no win.
Onto Baltimore where we need a sweep to get even.
Ready to start the season today?
Nova gets the start and chance to be the stopper tonight.
WIN METHOD tenet fans.....Losses for good teams help build character. It is a long season with many ups and downs. The best will rise to the top.
Take this seires and go home even.
Nova and Yankees earn first win of season.
The first one is the toughest. Good game from Nova. Maybe the most under rated pitcher in baseball.
Do it again guys. Do it again.
12 inning win with the relief corps impeccable.
Had lunch yesterday with Mariano Rivera at PF Changs. He bought. Talked winning baseball. Then he saves 12 inning win.
Long tough game last night. But a win. CC tonight for the sweep.
I am jealous WIN METHOD Love ya,
