WIN METHOD 2016 SEASON -- Only wins and winning determine the best.

The 2016 Major League Baseball season starts today.  The New York YANKEES first game will be tomorrow in New York against the Houston Astros.    The starting rotation has been decided, the twenty-five man roster has been decided, and tomorrow the drive for the playoffs will begin.  This is not fantasy baseball, played by stat fraud fools who live by meaningless individual statistics, this is real baseball where winning is determined by what all players on each team contribute to help their team win the most often.   These contributions are measured by wins and players producing at the right time, when it matters, and not by how much or how many stats they produce for themselves as their team fails.

The injury bug has bitten the YANKEES, as it has bitten every team in one way or another.  First baseman Greg Bird is likely out for the season.  Pitcher Brian Mitchell may be out approximately three months, and pitcher Andrew Miller with a broken bone in his non throwing wrist may have been the luckiest, and will lose no playing time.

Several YANKEE WIN METHOD youngsters are blooming and growing and are on the roster to start the season, and several more are on the near horizon and will start their season in the minors.
Several years ago the WIN METHOD made a concerted effort to find pitching talent each season and the YANKEES drafted many of these youngsters.   The time is here for some of these youngsters and the time for others is just around the corner.

The YANKEE management led by the brilliant dealing of General Manager Brian Cashman have added several new players to this seasons roster and have deepened the bench for 2016.   Also, three very possible future stars are so near.  Catcher Gary Sanchez, right fielder Aaron Judge, and shortstop Jorge Mateo are getting closer to the major league roster every day.  Playing regularly in the minors right now is best for them and their development.  But they will soon be heard from.

Remember fans, it is a long season, there will be ups and downs, and as always only wins and winning will be the determining factor on which teams earn playoffs spots and go on to the second season.    Let the stat fraud fools play their fantasy games.   We will play for real baseball and root for our team to win and root for the contributions of each player to help our team win.

LETS GO YANKEES

Ten innings and don't even come close to scoring. Lose 1-0. Something has got to change.

Steven F said...

How is Arod a black hole exactly? He was leading this team in home runs and RBIs.

We need literally every bit of offense we can get at this point and he had been one of the few guys hitting well recently. Don't really see how you can spin him being out a as a good thing.

Yankeedoodledandy said...

After the 2-7 road trip we are home and start the homestand with 3 games against the bosux. If we don't start producing as a team when it counts we aren't going to the playoffs.

Victor Bruno said...

Pineda, Eovaldi, Louie Louie listed for the sux series.

Steve said...

This last series with the O's is yet another fact to add to the list of just how meaningless stats can be and or are. The Yankees scored 8 runs on 21 hits for the three games. The Orioles scored 5 runs on 19 hits over the series. The Yankees outscored the Orioles, out hit the Orioles, and out pitched the Orioles. Final result, the Yankees did not win the series, but the Orioles did. Why, because the stats are meaningless. Wins and only wins determine who is best. But the stat frauds have built in an excuse when their stats are proven meaningless, it was an outlier, it was an anomaly. WIN METHOD fans don't need nor use deception or excuses.

Steven F...When a player has a couple of good games and or at bats, that does not define his play and what he has done for the team over the season to date. afraud is a pathetic cancer. It is truly sad that when a player gets hot and he raises his BA to .194. Particularly when that player can't play the field nor run the bases.

Steven F. said...

Deb F
The fact is this team needs offense in the worst way. Arod led this team in home runs and RBI and did so in less games than most of his teammates. Aaron Hicks is basically replacing him and at this point has 2 singles all season and is batting .091. Not really an upgrade.

Why do you say he can't run the bases? He has 2 stolen bases this season and is no slower than McCann, Teixeira, or Beltran.

You sound like you have a lot of hatred for some one I'm assuming you've never met or spoken to and don't actually really know at all. I feel like it clouds your judgment, and nothing has indicated his teammates view him that way at all.

Carl Hooks said...

Steve, You can go a step further, the Yankees gave up just one run in the last two games and still didn't win both games. Everyone on the team contributes to wins and losses.

Deb F said...

Steven F...You may not think certain facts define people, that is your choice and prerogative.
afraud has cheated baseball, his family, and has lied repeatedly about drug use. You can respect that, I do not.

will-i-am said...

Did a quick check. afraud last 7 games 7 hits for 23 ABs. For the rest of the season he had 7 hits for 49 ABs. Team has been 1-6 in last 7 games and 8-11 for the rest of season.

RLA said...

CC on DL with left groin strain. Wow!

Steven F. said...

Deb F
Who said I respect that what he did? He's made mistakes, so have I, I'm sure you have as well. By all accounts he's be working his butt off to be a better person and teammate, and I think it's commendable. What I don't respect is casting judgment on some one you've never interacted with before, and acting as though you know him as a person.

Brian Cowley said...

You got to be kidding with CC. Are we cursed.

Domenic said...

I guess Nova is a starter now with CC out.

Benny Pake said...

Brian, it could be the wrath of George S or he is turning over in his grave.

Deb F said...

Steven F...There are mistakes and then there are mistakes. Some are bigger than others and may very well define ones character. afrauds mistakes have defined his character. WIN METHOD told Mr. Steinbrenner that both times he became available via free agency. I would hope you have not lied and cheated on your family and your employers. You do not have to meet someone to be able to see how they defined them self.

Norm Jackson said...

Right now Judge is thrice the player afraud is. Judge can run, field and hit far better than afraud.

Jeff Miller said...

Castro and Torreyes only left batters in lineup tonight.

Zack Norris said...

Can Pineda follow in the CC-Tanaka footsteps tonight.

Saul Irving said...

Yanks down 2-1 after 1 as Pineda gives up w run HR.

Steven F said...

My main point was that I don't think his mere presence brings down the other players, these guys are professionals and even if they did hate him it shouldn't affect their performance, and I think there are other guys in the lineup (Headley) that are much more a black hole than he is.

Stan the Man said...

2-2 after 4.

We needed that win.

Steve said...

The Yankee scored 3 runs tonight. McCann 2 out RBI hit in 1st. Ackley 2 out RBI hit in 2nd. Hicks game winning HR in 7th. Bosux leave bases loaded twice without scoring. The difference of WHEN. Wakeup stat frauds, you blooming idiots.

Audrey Barnes said...

It is always when, not how much or how many. That is the simple concept non knowledgeable baseball fans can not grasp. To them more is always better. That is a false belief. It can be better, but not always and in baseball not even most of the time.

Harry Stavris said...

Eovaldi this afternoon. Can he keep the starting pitcher great pitching run going.

Bob from Baylor said...

Isn't a win determined by how many runs you score compared to the other team? It doesn't matter when you score them (could all be in the first inning for all I care), as long as you have at least one more than the other team in the end.

So, how exactly is it never how many but when?

Cory said...

1-1 after 3.

Sal Mineo said...

4-1 Yankees after 4 as Didi Gregorious delivers bases loaded double for 3 runs.

Jack Gordon said...

Bob from Baylor, No one ever said anything about innings. It is getting the hit when men are in scoring position. If you are unable to understand that simple fact, then you are lost.

Gene A said...

Carlos Beltran comes through with a big WHEN it counts two out double with two men on for two runs in fifth inning giving Yankees 6-2 lead after five innings.

Sal Mineo said...

Yankees up 6-2 after 5.

Bob from Baylor said...

Jack
People did say that is not how many that matters, even though the win is based off of how many runs are scored versus the other team.
Those hits are more important because of HOW MANY runners are on base and HOW MANY runs are scored because of it- right??

candycane said...

Hicks with a sac fly rbi with man on 3rd and less than 2 outs, something afraud hardly ever does, for a 7-2 Yankee lead after 6.

Deb F said...

Bob from Baylor...Do you even know what you are talking about. To score runs you need to put men on base. Those men on base do not score unless someone delivers the hitWHEN it matters most. WHEN THEY ARE ON BASE, PARTICULARLY IN SCORING POSITION WHERE A SINGLE CAN MEAN ONE OR TWO RUNS. If no one produces when they are on base those hits go to waste as far as winning is concerned, which is the goal.

Nick Polito said...

What a great job from Eovaldi today. With a depleted bullpen (no Betances or Miller) he goes 8 innings allowing just 2 runs and is in line to earn the win for his team.

will-i-am said...

Bob said...

Im completely aware of how runs are scored. You said nothing knowledgable. My point is how can you say that it doesn't matter how many runs are scored when at the end of the day you look at how many runs are scored to determine the winner of the game.

Andrew J said...

Louie Louie tomorrow to keep it going. chance for a series sweep.

Swen Jorgenson said...

Bob, Deb F nor anyone here ever said it doesn't matter how many runs are scored. You are either drunk, on drugs, or just stupid.

Bob from Baylor said...

Hey Swen
Direct quote

Audrey Barnes said...

It is always when, not how much or how many.

This was the initial comment I was responding to. So, you're completely wrong. Why don't you read other comments before being a complete jerk, now you've come off as an idiot. Good Job.

YankeeMike said...

Louie Louie tonight in yes again, the despised espn Sunday night game.

Steve said...

I hate espn. Their talking heads are imbeciles except for one or two, and the one or two are always on the edge of being fired or have been fired.

Audrey Barnes said...

Bob from Baylor...I see you do not understand the WIN METHOD reality. Everyone here but you knows what is meant by how much or how many. That is a phrase WIN METHOD fans use to describe how meaningless how much or how many an individual produces for himself compared to the production of players who produce when it counts and helps the team win. EXAMPLE used many times on this blog. A grand slam HR in the 8th inning of a game your team is winning 10-0 is meaningless. DUH! It looks like you are the idiot. But we all knew that already by your posts.

johnny said...

Lets go Yankees.

Bob from Baylor said...

Haha Audrey. You're a very angry person it seems.

It seems you agree with me all along that yes, how many does matter in some regards. The situation you described is meaningless solely because of how many runs were already scored.

There is no need to spread such hate or anger. My posts were simply questions.

sid greenberg,nyc said...

Bob from Baylor, I do not think by any means Audrey was spreading any hate or anger. Just stating her position and clarifying your errors in judgement and comprehension.

Bob from Baylor said...

Well let's be honest, it was a very broad statement that could easily be interpreted in many ways. Also I still do not agree that "How many" never matters - which is what she stated.

Eovaldi going 8 innings was HUGE yesterday. He saved the bullpen, largely because of how many innings he hit.

Throwing around the term "idiot" is hateful, rude, and not conducive to conversation sid. Quite frankly name-calling, in fairness which was started by Swen, is a childish behavior.

Carl Hooks said...

Bob from Baylor, If the shoe fits you have to wear it.

Bob from Baylor said...

Grow up Carl. What have I said that you disagree with anyway?

Carl Hooks said...

Bob from Baylor, It's you do not know the difference between how much and many compared to WHEN it counts which in essence is the WIN METHOD.

Bob from Baylor said...

No I understand that hitting when it counts matter. I just think when it counts is largely a factor of how many runs are needed and how many men are on base. You disagree with any of that?

Tommy Lee said...

Can we get a gem from Louie Louie. He showed signs last time out.

Wilsonsway said...

I think this team when they put all the parts together and they get in sync will be a force to reckon with.

Carl Hooks said...

Bob from Baylor, You may have taken a long road to get to your last post, but that is pretty much what the WIN METHOD is.

Bob from Baylor said...

Thank you. That's all I've been saying since the beginning. I think you and all would serve better to understand what some one is stating before resorting to insults and and derogatory remarks.

When I read "it's not how much or how many" - that wasn't fully accurate to me for reasons I've stated before.

Gloria LeClair said...

We face a knuckleballer tonight. Be patient and let the ball come to you. Use the opposite field, if you try to pull everything you are in trouble. Lets sweep.

Stan the Man said...

Yankees down 2-0 after 2.

Yankeeforever said...

Bob from Baylor, That may have been what you were trying to say. But what you posted in your earlier posts was much gibberish, not logical, and for the most part incoherent. You earned the abuse.

Brian Cowley said...

Yankees trail 3-0 after four. Not touching the knuckle ball.

Bob from Baylor said...

People earn abuse for because you don't agree with/understand what they post on the internet huh?

Nice. Says pretty much all I need to know about your character.

Victor Bruno said...

Yanks down 4-0 after 7. Have just 2 hits.

Andy K said...

Wayne Littlebear said...

Final Yanks lose 5-1.

Victor Grandozi said...

Winning streak of two over. 5-1 loss tonight.

Al Ashton said...

KC comes in for four night games and Nova goes tonight replacing CC.

Guy Padikian said...

Bob from Bayor. In my opinion you earned abuse for being unable to communicate your thoughts clearly. You brought the insults upon yourself. Another instance where how many do not matter is a team earns a win whether they win a game 20-0 or 2-1. The amount of runs do no matter one iota as long as you win.

Bob from Baylor said...

Guy
The fact that you and Yankeeforever believe something that trivial and small warrants abuse, means that by definition you are both abusive people.
People with more integrity don't have to resort to abuse and insults.

Gus Papa said...

We just need to score runs more often. We are asking to much from our pitchers.

bigbadwolf said...

Bob, You keep challenging posters integrity for calling you names and others who agree with them. It has been posted by others, but you brought it about with unintelligible posts that other posters could not understand where you were coming from or what you were trying to say. Be a man, suck it up, and live with it. I for one rather be called a name than here someone whining about being called one.

Bob from Baylor said...

Not challenging anyone big bad wolf, nor whining.
I would say being a man involved standing up for oneself, that's all I'm doing. I don't stand for abuse, never have, never will.
It seems to you being a man involves calling people names, being abusive, and looking the other way when witnessing abuse. On that, it seems we disagree.
You know, if they didn't understand it, they could have just asked me to clarify.

Stanley Chin said...

People, have we forgotten. Chapmans suspension is over, we get him back, and he is available tonight.

bigbadwolf said...

In no way shape or form do I find calling people publishable names as abuse. Foul language, physically attacking are abuse. Calling anyone a jerk or fool, etc is not abuse in my view.

Paul Hirschman said...

If we can score runs our games get shorter and we have more depth in the late innings.

Eddie OConnor said...

Yep, I forgot about Chapman. Out of sight out of mind. My bad.

Steve said...

bigbadwolf, I'm 76 and grew up in the day of day name calling. Ethnic nicknames, the usual stuff in those days. Thought nothing of it and never thought it was abuse and only t.he political correct fools have given it a bad name. I still tend to like it, particularly when someone calls me a name. I just smile and say thank you for noticing. Thanking them tends to upset them. Love it.

Bob from Baylor said...

Abuse comes in many shapes and forms my friend, this being verbal abuse which can have many damaging effects on the human psyche. Your view seems very limited, and it seems you are using it as a justification for this behavior.
I wasn't the one who brought it up even, it was others who told me "I deserved the abuse". So even they seem to disagree with you.

However, let's get back to baseball. Let's be mindful that adult conversations are more enjoyable than childish behavior.

Victor Grandozi said...

Everyone has opinions on almost anything. I don't care in the least what someone feels or how it affects their psyche when I call they stupid. Our country is being run by pieces of crap. Oh, oh, I may get audited now.

Vinny Ferrero said...

Mike, no doubt about it. No black holes right now until he is inserted into the lineup again.

Rahm Mahood said...

Would be great to win this 4 game series against the world champion team.

Unknown said...

i would argue headley is a black hole for sure. He's been awful, especially bad with runners in scoring position. His arm at third base also leaves a lot to be desired.

will-i-am said...

Yep, the Yankees won last night, but they were out hit. Stat fraud idiots.

Jen Vitter said...

Looks like the team may be close to hitting its stride. Move forward little by little.

Izy Hernandez said...

Steven Fischer...I think arauds uselessness has been covered many times here. afraud can't play the field, that makes him half a player unless his bat was so awesome it would counter his inability to field a ball. Headley is a very solid fielder and has a very good arm. Headley over afraud in a heart beat.

RLA said...

Ackley at first tonight giving Teixeira off. Gamel in right field. Castro back at second after off day yesterday.

Steven F. said...

I wasn't at all bringing Arod up, talking strictly about Headley.

Headley in NO way has a very solid arm. He has trouble with the slow rollers because he doesn't have the pure arm strength to get across the diamond without really getting his body into it.

His biggest detraction is how bad he's been with the bat though, I think he's been the worst hitters in baseball. Five runs and 2 RBIs the entire season, 0 extra base hits. He's been struggling mightily.

Sharon/NC said...

Girardi does a great job spelling and managing his players.

Izy Hernandez said...

Steven Fischer...I brought up afraud because there is no way anyone could call Headley a black hole when afraud is on the team.
