Coming back from a whirlwind five weeks on the road. Started with the YANKEE western swing in late May to Oakland to Anaheim to Detroit. Interviews, interviews, interviews, the draft, and finally the College World Series.
We got everything we wanted out of this years draft. Picking almost last each year and still coming through with some of the best baseball talent is a feather in the cap of the WIN METHOD player evaluation system. The YANKEES since the inception and use of the WIN METHOD have been baseballs winning-est team with the most playoffs, pennants, and World Championships than any other team in baseball. Factually, no other team comes even close.
How about this years team. Riddled with crippling injuries, and many other lesser injuries, this team has performed admirably. First place, with player after player stepping up and playing WIN METHOD baseball. Winning as a team. WINS is all that counts.
How many of you remember my special WIN METHOD selection back in 2009 of Adam Warren and his rise through the ranks? Well, Adam is being called up by the YANKEES and will start Friday nights game in the Stadium against the Chicago White Sox. Good luck, Adam. Remember it's all about the WIN METHOD.
If any of you want a good laugh, you can go to several of the baseball talk forums. Go to the the YANKEE threads and you will see just what is meant by the dumbing down of America. Most, not all, but most posters know little to nothing about baseball, they get mired in mind numbing meaningless, worthless individual stats and when confronted whine and cry like immature childlike fools. The worst is, the moderators are the biggest and dumbest culprits. When threatened and provided facts and collaborating sites they immediately demean the poster and the other valid sites. All you can do is laugh at these brain dead losers. These guys are in their comfort zone when they are supported by their clique of mental delinquents, but know if they come here to debate anything they will get buried by an avalanche of common sense and facts from the smartest fans in the baseball world, WIN METHOD fans. They have no game and what game they have is losing and claiming they are the best.
In the second half of this season we will have several quality players coming back and this team will get better and better. All the while, the youngsters picked over the last few years develop and get ripe until they are needed and ready to be picked and promoted.

«Oldest ‹Older 1601 – 1800 of 1823 Newer› Newest»Our elder stateman war horse Andy Pettitte goes for the Yankees tonight. Show them hwo to win the big one Andy.
Teena are you up yet. Thanks for another win in a big game.
Just keep playing WIN METHOD baseball and just keep winning when it counts.
I'm up. I loved the game last night. The eam does the winning, I have just been lucky to be there when they win.
This has been one heck of an exciting playoff season for MLB so far. Lets get the first game tonight Andy.
Everyone have a great afternoon and get everything done you need to get done. Because ti will be time for YANKEE pennant race baseball tonight. Lets go Yankees.
LETS GO YANKEES
It's always one game at a time. Have to win one before you can win the second. Do it Andy.
Break out the lumber. Time to start scoring big.
Come out hitting and scoring and keep Afraud on the bench.
Cool crisp weather Andy. Just like your stuff. Earn the win.
Game in three hours. Lets get ready to take the next series and the next step. Just eight more wins.
Go Yankees
Afraud playing and batting sixth.
Afraud playing, but lets hope he contributes.
Get off to a fast start and control the game.
Girardi can always pinch hit for Afraud if the need arises. The precedent has been set.
As long as we win it doesn't matter, but aren't we do for a laugher for a change?
Break out the bats for the rest of the season. Get number 28.
Temperature at game time in the upper 40's.
Game time. Go Yankees.
Show them how to pitch Andy. Get Andy some runs guys. I don't mean 2 or 3, how about a dozen.
49 degrees at game time. You are right again Teena.
no score after one. believe it, Afraud batting 6th comes up in the 1st inning with the bases loaded. hits the ball hard, but it is a force out griunder short to 2nd for the 3rd out. 3 men left on base.
0-0 after 1.
Cano comes upin the 2nd with the bases loaded and hits bullet up the middle that hits pitcher bounds to short and is thrown out at first. Two innings bases left loaded twice.
Replay of Cano at bat shows he was safe at fiest. Oh well. Keep on trucking guys.
We can't catch a break. Six men left on after two innings. And both third outs were well struck.
0-0 after 3 as Afraud weekly hits into a double play to close out the 3rd.
What a devensive play bt Jeter with a diving grab of a bullet hit up the middle by Cabrera robbing him of a base hit.
0-0 after 4. First time 3 up 3 down for the Yanks.
0=0 after 4.
Scoreless after five. Another nail biter.
Andy has been great, but he needs some runs to win.
Pettitte gets touched for 2 runs in the 6th. We need runs.
2nd and 3rd, no outs Afraud up. Strikes out on 3 pitches. Get him the heck off the team already. We are cursed. Swisher up with one out. Swisher walks, bases loaded for Granderson. We are still playing around Afraud. Granderson strike out on three pitches. This is pathetic. Martin up. Martin strikes out. Three innings we leave the bases loaded.
Afraud should never play anither game for the Yankees. Sad to say Granderson may be headed in the same direction. If you can't produce when it counts you don't win.
Into the 7th for us down 2-0.
Yanks down 2-0 after 7. Two more chances to come from behind.
Lowe/Logan give up two in the 8th. Ynaks down 4-0 coming to bat.
Girardi pinch hits for Afraud in the 8th, who should never have been in the game, and Yanks go down. 4-0 Tigers after 8.
4-0 Yanks down after 8. Do we have a 9th inning rally?
Ichiro and Ibanez each with 2 run home runs in th 9th off Tiger close valverde for 4-4 tie and still batting with 2 outs.
Extra innings 4-4 after 9. The ghost are with us?
We just have to win. Please!
Don't ever give up. nks with four in the ninth tie game. Ibanez again with two outs.
Soriano in for the 10th.
Soriano with a 1,2,3 10th. Win it now, win it now, win it now.
Soriano with a 1,2,3 10th.
LETS GO YANKEES,,,,,LETS GO YANKEES.
4-4 after ten. Yanks had two chance with runner in scoring position, but both Martin and Jeter fly out.
Robertson pitching the 11th.
Tigers do not score in the 11th. Ichiro, Cano, Texieria do up for Yanks.
Tigers down in 11th.
At least I don't have work tomorrow.
Ichiro starts 11th with single. C ano at bat. Cano flies out to left. Texieria up. Tex pops out to short. Ibanez up. Does he have more heroics in him? Ibanez pops out to 2nd. On to the 12th, again.
4-4 after 11.
Phelps in for the 12th facing Cabrera, Fielder, and Young.
Tigers score in the 12th to take 5-4 lead.
Jeter makes diving stop of shot hit up the middle and is hurt bad. Jeter carried off the field. If Jetes is out we are done for the season.
Oh my God, Jeter is hurt. Nooooooooooo.
Phelps has allowed 2 runs so far.
6-4 Tigers with Yanks coming up in the 12th. Do we have another rally?
Yankees lose it 6-4 in 12.
I love you Derek.
Try to even series this afternoon.
We don't ever give up. That is the way Jeter would want it.
Jeters ankle is broken, his season and likley the Yankees is over.
Jetes ankle is broken making another spectacular defensive play.
You will be missed Derek.
Our biggest loss of the season.
Win it for Jeter.
I couldn't sleep at all last night. Derek Jeter has been the heart and soul of Yankee fans, the Yankee team, and all of MLB. Thinking of you WIN METHOD, love you and take care.
From the Associated Press.............NEW YORK (AP) — Delirious only minutes earlier, fans at Yankee Stadium sat stunned in utter disbelief while they watched Derek Jeter being helped off the field.
Their worst fears were met, too. The durable captain broke his left ankle and is out for the rest of the postseason.
Three innings after Raul Ibanez sent the 47,122 in Yankee Stadium into a frenzy with a tying two-run homer, the New York shortstop silenced the crowd when he went down and didn't get up after making a tumbling stop on Jhonny Peralta's grounder in the 12th inning.
That feel-good moment was gone in a flash.
Jeter appeared to stumble as he took several steps to his left for the sharp grounder, went down and winced in pain as he flipped the ball toward second base. He then rolled onto his stomach, and a collective gasp was heard when the player who symbolizes championship baseball didn't get up.
Jeter remained on his side, rolling slightly, as trainer Steve Donahue and manager Joe Girardi checked him out. He was helped up, and he put an arm around Girardi and Donahue. They coaxed him off the field with Jeter not moving his left leg as chants of "Derek Jeter!" rang out.
"You can see the disappointment in his face," Girardi said after the Yankees' 6-4 loss.
Girardi said the injury won't jeopardize Jeter's career. But the recovery will be about three months.
Now if the Yankees are going to go deep in the postseason they'll have to do it without their captain for the first time in 16 years.
"It's kind of crushing," outfielder Nick Swisher said.
Jeter has been a constant in the Yankees lineup since he was Rookie of the Year in 1996. In fact, he has played in all 157 of New York's postseason games since then.
That's over now.
"I can't tell you how much I appreciate his toughness and his grit," Girardi said. "It's, to me, a great example for everyone. And I am not just talking about athletes, I am just talking about everyone that goes through struggles in life or goes through pain in life."
Already missing career saves leader Mariano Rivera from those five championship teams since early May because he tore a ligament in his knee shagging flyballs, the Yankees will activate Eduardo Nunez before Game 2 of the series on Sunday. Jayson Nix is expected to start at shortstop.
Jeter served as the designated hitter in Game 4 of the AL division series after fouling a ball off the same foot the previous night and had to come out after the eighth inning. It was the first time he didn't start a playoff game at shortstop, as Nix started in his place.
"I saw him flip the ball to Robbie (Cano), and you figure he's going to get back up," Swisher said. "When he didn't was when I knew something was wrong and you know he wanted to get up and get off the field as quickly as he possibly could."

The weekend started out great with the Friday night win, and then it all came to an end. Take care Jeter. Lead us next year after a season of major changes. Afraud must go for one and never wear a Yankee uniform again.
Regardless of what happens, major respect to Jeter for gritting out this whole season, dude played until his body just could not take it anymore.
This goes down as one of the most soul-crushing games/losses I can remember.
It's time for the troops to rally and win it all for Mo & Jete.
Derek Jeter ends his season literally injuring himself to make a play.
A-Rod halfheartedly swings at a pitch well out of the zone and doesn't even flinch toward first base on the dropped third strike, despite the runner at third.
A-Rod is a disgrace as a human being.
Maybe this is the wake up call this team needs. Let's do it for the Captain and play with a purpose dammit! Let's see the Captain jumping out the dugout on crutches to celebrate #28!
Jeters injury is a disaster, but we do have a game this afternoon. Win it for the Captain, the leader, the best player in baseball for two decades.
Kuroda pitchin on short rest today in what is very likely a must win game fot the Yankees. We will see how the guys respond to Jeters injuty.
It ain't over and Jeter won't let it be over. He will lead from the bench.
Will Girardi keep playing the black hole Afraud or will he bench him for good and the good of the team.
Sometimes things turn on a dime. If Jeters bad break can be the catalyst to awaken the dead bats, all may not be lost, and if the team fights back it would honor Jeter.
Must win today in my opinion.
Looking ahead to next year. The WIN METHOD nucleus. Jeter, Rivera, Pettitte, CC. Add Cano, Tex, Ichiro, that's seven.
First, lets take care of business today.
It's never over till it's over as a great Yankee has said.
Thanks for a great season Derek! It was a pleasure to watch.
Girardi juggles lineup but still errs by playing Afraud. We are screwed.
How I would have set up todays lineup. 1.Ichiro RF 2.Granderson CF 3.Texieria 1B 4.Cano 2B 5.Ibanez DH 6.Martin C 7.Chavez 3B 8.Nunez SS 9.Gardner LF
Win one for the Captain.
No score after one as Martin leaves two men on base in the first.
0-0 after 2. Afraud strikes out looking. How pathetic.
0-0 after 3.
Pretty quiet 3 innings. 0-0.
0-0 after 4 and Afraud hopelessly strikes out for a 2nd time in game.
Five complete no score.
0-0 after 5.
Noscore after six. Kuroda has been spectacular allowing just one single. Yankee bats have been sad.
0-0 after 6.
Tigers score one in the seventh as Cano can't turn easy DP.
Afraud leads off the Yankee 7th and doesn't stirke out. Flies out to medium left field. Granderson doesn't strike out either and walks. Swisher however does strike out for the second out. Granderso does steal second. Nix up and strikes out.
1-0 Tigers afte 7.
The Yankee team looks like they have what life they had sucked out of them.
Another umpire bad call gives the Tigers another run in the eighth.
We get shut out and we go to Detroit to face the Tigers better pitchers.
Not trying to be nebative. But Jeter is so great, without him we are done.
A day off to travel to the lions den full of Tigers.
The bats look hapless, there is no energy on the team, the Captain is down.
Take care and get well Derek. You are the greatest.
Jeter coming to North Carolina to see a specialist regarding his ankle.
Only one player over the past 20 years has meant the most and more to his team than any other. And that is Derek Jeter. Take care, guy, and good luck.
Can Jeter play with his ankle in a cast and on crutches. That is the only way we can win.
Jeter on crutches is better defensively than most shortstops.
We just have to beat Verlander tonight. CC wins tomorrow and the series is tied.
Hughes goes for us today and has a big chore in store for him to beat the Tigers tonight.
If Hughes can win tonight and CC goes and wins tomorrow that would make for a very interesting final three games. IF
Come on guys. Show some pride and win tonight. Beat their ace.
Jeter can't play forever. Sometime you guys will have to put up or shutup.
Don't disgrace yourselves guys, Afraud does that on his own. Play hard and give it your all.
Afraud bench again tonight. Good job Joe G.
The Yankees have to find a way to get Afraud out of a Yankee uniform for the future.
Just about game time.
0-0 after 2.
Yanks down 1-0 after 4. Hughes injured in 4th and out of game.
Yanks down 2-0 after 6. Hughes out with back problem.
Yanks down 2-0 after 8. Only 2 hits for Yanks in 8 innings, both by Ichiro,
The Yankees went down 2-1 last night. Phil Hughes went down with a back issue. But the Yankees stay in the game to their final at bat and final out with a chance to win.
CC goes today to avoid the sweep.
CC wins tonight and then Pettitte tomorrow, you never know, stranger things have happened.
Go CC.
CC may have to pitch a shutout to earn the win.
Come on guys win a few games and scare them.
Jeter having surgery in Charlotte,NC this Saturday.
October surprise. Yanks win next four.
Rain delay.
Tonights game rained out.
All we can do is try again today.
Could it finally be true. The Yankees are trying to get rid of the cancer Afraud. The cheater who cheated baseball for his own glory. His glory is only that of a cheater of baseball and his family. Afraud is a cancer that must be cut out and removed from the Yankee organization. Afraud has no records in baseball, no player who cheated the game has any records. He is a defrocked embarrassment to MLB.
The raster Afraud goes the better. Then the wound healing can occur.
Don't let the door hit you on the way out Afraud.
If the Yankees only followed WIN METHOD on Afraud, we wouldn't be in this predicament. Kick the bum out on his ear.
Arod must go and go now.
To hell with Afraud. Lets win todays game.
Lets go guys. Get the win today.
Tigers out front 1-0 after one.
Yanks down 2-0 after 3. CC not sharp.
CC gets pounded in the 4th and leaves with two out trailing 6-0. Jeter going down has taken the heart and sould from the Yankees and left the cancer which must be cut out soon.
Yanks down 6-0 after 5. Nunez leads off 6th with Yanks first hit of game.
Wait till next year.
It's over. Tigers win 8-1. Afraud goes out doing what he does, nothing. In the only inning the Yankees scored and had life, Afraud pinched hit and with two men on popped up to left and finished his Yankee career with a weak ground out in the ninth. Good riddance Afraud.
The season is done. Try again next year.
Yanks lose 8-1.
Now I root for the Tigers in the WS.
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
WIN METHOD will have a very busy time of it. He was dead on right regarding Afraud and said it over ten years ago.
Gutless no name alert. Probably some stat fraud or a fan of a team not in the playoffs.
This winter is going to be interesting. Many decisions must be made. WIN METHOD will be busy, Love ya,
Just get rid of Arod.
Man we sure looked helpless without Jeter.
Everything to be done needs to be to support Jeter, he just can't keep carrying this team on his back.
Get well soon Derek.
Afraud has no class and is an embarassment to Latinos.
Jeter had his surgery and all went well. He will be ready to start the 2013 season as the best offensive and defensive shortstop in baseball.
No matter what Arod has to go. Take it easy Jeets.
Many rumors are swirling. A fact, Jeter surgery went well.
The Tigers are waiting in the lair for teh nl winner.
Nice to hear from you WIN METHOD. Love ya,
Many rumors are swirling regarding what steps the YANKEES may or may not take regarding player personnel for the coming 2013 season. One thing is for sure, Derek Jeter the best offensive and defensive shortstop in Major League Baseball over the past twenty years will be the starting shortstop.
Yes, it will be interesting to follow the comings and goings this winter.
If you do anything, get rid of Arod.
The Tigers will get to see who they play tonight. Fianlly.
It will be the SF Giants and Detroit Tigers in the World Series. Go Tigers.
I wonder what will be the first move made by the Yankes this off season.
Afraud must go. I know it won't be easy, but the team must bite the money bullet and do whatever it takes. It has been documented beyond a shadow of a doubt that when Afraud leaves a team it get better and the team he goes to get worse.
Alls quiet so far. But it is usually quiet before the storm.
Lets go Tigers.
The problem with getting rid of Afraud is what team really want to add a cancer to their team?
Giants pummel Verlander and Tigers winning game one 8-3.
Tigers lose 2nd game to Jints and go down 2-0 in the game and are down 2-0 in the series.
After defeating the Yankees, I wonder if the Tigers thought it would be easy.
The Tigers haven't shown anything yet in the Series.
We all will be waiting through out the winter for moves by the Yankees.
No news, no rumors today.
Tigers get shut out again 2-0 and are now down 3 games to 0 in the World Series.
It looks like the Tigers lineup in the World Series are proving just as the Yankee lineup did against the Tigers....when you're hot you're hot and when you're not you're not.
Exactly Cory. three games and the Tigers have not produced once WHEN it would have mattered most.
The Tigers now need four wins in a row. Does not look good for the Tig fans.
Detroit down early in game four.
Detroit made it official. They lost game four and were swept in the World Series by the San Fransisco Giants. The SF Giants with the best team and players in baseball for 2012. Congratulations Giants fans.
This off season may not be as volatile as many think. We did have the best W/L record in the AL despite all the injuries. Just because we collapsed after Jeter went down doesn't me we aren't good. Look at the Tiger collapse.
No matter what, it will be an interesting winter.
True Sid. You don't revamp a team based on one series. Some adjustments need to be made and I am sure will.
If we do one thing that would help most, it would be getting rid of Arod.
Rafael Soriano has opted out of his 2013 contract. That opens the door for Mo to return in his closer role.
One down. Saves us many millions.
It looks like Swisher may be going.
Remember WIN METHOD fans. It takes to to tango and make a deal. You can't always get who you want or who you want to get rid of.
You have to give something to get something. Sometimes however, you just have to give something away or throw it away.
