I couldn't let this go any longer. As you all know by now, Yu Darvish has decided to play major league baseball and will be posted in Japan any day now. Yu Darvish is WIN METHOD and would make a fantastic addition to the YANKEES. This could be the piece that can carry the YANKEES to the 2012 World Series Championship. The YANKEES will make a very substantial offer to win the rights to be able to negotiate with Darvish. Yu Darvish if he had his choice, wants to play for the YANKEES, and he wants to WIN. Those beautiful words 'wants to WIN', not play for himself, but for the team to WIN. It is now up to the YANKEE ownership to open up the purse strings and earn the rights to Darvish. After that it will be easy. Unfortunately, the YANKEES can not control what some other team is willing to spend for the rights to Darvish. If it was a straight up decision by Darvish, he would become a YANKEE. If all goes well, Darvish could be a gigantic Christmas present to YANKEE fans from the Steinbrenners.
If we do not get the rights to Darvish, there is one more option which I am unable to discuss at this time. Hopefully we will not have to use any backup plans.
I should be home for the Christmas season in the few days. I would like to wish all you WIN METHOD fans out there, the greatest and most knowledgeable fans in the world, a very MERRY CHRISTMAS and a happy and healthy New Year.
Our goal for 2012 is crystal clear, another World Series Championship.
From all the information I am getting, the YANKEE pitching in 2012 will be the best in years. We have minds concentrating on winning and the youngsters will be blooming and growing. 28 in 12.

ReplyDeleteThe way I see it, Wilson wasn't WIN METHOD, so the Yankees passed on him. Darvish is WIN METHOD and the Yankees will try for him. Wilson wanted to go to the Angels and that is a plus for them and him. there is nothing better than playing where you want to be. That is WIN METHOD fact.

ReplyDeleteI do not know is this is still the case, but this is what I have found searching the internet.
ReplyDeleteA Japanese player who wishes to leave his Japanese club and move to MLB must notify his club. The club can then agree to place the player on a posting list with any other players on any other Japanese clubs who also wish to move. Nothing prevents a MLB club from discussing the possibility of posting a player with the player’s agent before the posting period closes (November to March). The posting list is then provided to the Commissioner of MLB who notifies all MLB clubs of the posted players. Interested MLB clubs submit a sealed bid to the Commissioner’s Office within four days. The Commissioner opens the bids and notifies the Japanese club of the amount of the highest bid, but not who the bidding club is. The Japanese club has 30 days to accept or reject the bid and the bid is not subject to negotiation. If rejected, the Japanese club retains the player’s rights and the player cannot be posted again until the next off-season. If the bid is accepted, the Japanese player must agree to a playing contract with the winning bidder by the close of the posting period. Only at that time does the Japanese club receive the winning funds. If the player cannot agree to a playing contract, his rights revert back to his Japanese club and no payment is made.
I read it a s a one shot bid. That is why WIN METHOD said another team could bid higher and the Yankees would lose out. I see.

ReplyDeleteDarvish reported wants a 5 year/$75M contract. Assuming a $50M posting fee, that makes the deal $125M total. That is Sabathia territory, folks. We have tons of great young pitching talent in the pipeline thanks to WIN METHOD. It may be more prudent just to wait it out.

ReplyDeleteYankees Rule 5 pick Cesar Cabral has been dealing down in the Dominican Republic this winter. The left-hander has a 0.77 ERA through 19 relief appearances. He’s struck out 13, walked three and opponents are hitting just .171 against him.
In his past seven outings, he’s pitched 4.1 innings allowing no runs on two hits and one walk while striking out five.
Lefties at hitting .211/.286/.211 with no extra-base hits, but right-handers have been even worse, batting just .136/.174/.136.
At 22, you never know. Much room for development and improvement. Lightning in a bottle.
