WIN METHOD -- Yu Darvish

I couldn't let this go any longer.   As you all know by now, Yu Darvish has decided to play major league baseball and will be posted in Japan any day now.  Yu Darvish is WIN METHOD and would make a fantastic addition to the YANKEES.  This could be the piece that can carry the YANKEES to the 2012 World Series Championship.  The YANKEES will make a very substantial offer to win the rights to be able to negotiate with Darvish.  Yu Darvish if he had his choice, wants to play for the YANKEES, and he wants to WIN.  Those beautiful words 'wants to WIN', not play for himself, but for the team to WIN.  It is now up to the YANKEE ownership to open up the purse strings and earn the rights to Darvish.  After that it will be easy.  Unfortunately, the YANKEES can not control what some other team is willing to spend for the rights to Darvish.  If it was a straight up decision by Darvish, he would become a YANKEE.  If all goes well, Darvish could be a gigantic Christmas present to YANKEE fans from the Steinbrenners.

If we do not get the rights to Darvish, there is one more option which I am unable to discuss at this time.  Hopefully we will not have to use any backup plans.

I should be home for the Christmas season in the few days.  I would like to wish all you WIN METHOD fans out there, the greatest and most knowledgeable fans in the world, a very MERRY CHRISTMAS and a happy and healthy New Year.

Our goal for 2012 is crystal clear, another World Series Championship.

From all the information I am getting, the YANKEE pitching in 2012 will be the best in years.  We have minds concentrating on winning and the youngsters will be blooming and growing.   28 in 12.

  2. Great news WIN METHOD. This would be super for the fans and Merry Christmas everyone. Love ya,

    ReplyDelete
  3. Hope we get him.

    ReplyDelete
  4. It looks like Wilson didn't make the WIN METHOD cut, so the YANKEES didn't waste their time and dollars. A bigger fish to fry hopefully.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Darvish would be a great addition. Merry Christmas.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Yes. Happy Holidays.

    ReplyDelete
  7. The way I see it, Wilson wasn't WIN METHOD, so the Yankees passed on him. Darvish is WIN METHOD and the Yankees will try for him. Wilson wanted to go to the Angels and that is a plus for them and him. there is nothing better than playing where you want to be. That is WIN METHOD fact.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Thanks WIN METHOD, I should have known better. Now I see why the Yankees didn't care about Wilson.

    ReplyDelete
  9. WIN METHOD has done his job. Now it's up to the front office. Get it done guys.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Darvish and 28 in 12. NOTHING LESS.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Pujols and Wilson to the Angels. Scary. And people complain about the Yankees spending.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Yes, Darvish would be a fine Christmas present for Yankee fans.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Does anyone know if the posting bid for Darvish is a one shot bid or if a team can rebid higher if needed?

    ReplyDelete
  14. I do not know is this is still the case, but this is what I have found searching the internet.

A Japanese player who wishes to leave his Japanese club and move to MLB must notify his club. The club can then agree to place the player on a posting list with any other players on any other Japanese clubs who also wish to move. Nothing prevents a MLB club from discussing the possibility of posting a player with the player’s agent before the posting period closes (November to March). The posting list is then provided to the Commissioner of MLB who notifies all MLB clubs of the posted players. Interested MLB clubs submit a sealed bid to the Commissioner’s Office within four days. The Commissioner opens the bids and notifies the Japanese club of the amount of the highest bid, but not who the bidding club is. The Japanese club has 30 days to accept or reject the bid and the bid is not subject to negotiation. If rejected, the Japanese club retains the player’s rights and the player cannot be posted again until the next off-season. If the bid is accepted, the Japanese player must agree to a playing contract with the winning bidder by the close of the posting period. Only at that time does the Japanese club receive the winning funds. If the player cannot agree to a playing contract, his rights revert back to his Japanese club and no payment is made.

  15. I read it a s a one shot bid. That is why WIN METHOD said another team could bid higher and the Yankees would lose out. I see.

    ReplyDelete
  16. If the process was bid and counter bid, Darvish would be ours. Gotta go with the flow and play by the rules.

    ReplyDelete
  17. We should know if we got him about four days after he is posted.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Has Yu been posted yet?

    ReplyDelete
  19. Darvish has been posted and teams have four business days to submit their bid.

    ReplyDelete
  20. If we don't get Darvish, we will still win the division and make the playoffs. We have many pieces down on the farm who won't cost a fortune.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Merry Christmas all, with or without Darvish.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Sit and wait. Then, no matter what happens, move on.

    ReplyDelete
  23. One other thing the Yankees may be considering. Darvish in a Yankee uniform will pack the fans into the ballparks.

    ReplyDelete
  24. The posting ends either Tue or Wed next week. Four days and Sat and Sun don't count. Merry Christmas.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I predict Darvish will be a Yankee.

    ReplyDelete
  26. You never know Quay. It's all about the bid.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Several forum posters are saying the Yankees will not make any offer for Darvish. Then again, we know they know nothing.

    ReplyDelete
  28. The question should be, how much will the offer be.

    ReplyDelete
  29. No matter what the offer is, it is a crap shoot. Any team can bid any ridiculous amount and blow any other team away.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Getting away from Darvish for a second. Here is a thought about Afraud.

The way Afraud hangs out with the young players reminds me of the way the uncle whom all the grown-ups can't stand, hangs out with the kids at family get-togethers because the kids are the only ones who'll put up with him.

    Merry Christmas

    ReplyDelete
  31. Just as long as the kids do't develop the frauds bad habits. Take his money and listen with ear plugs on.

    ReplyDelete
  32. If the Yankees get Darvish, Yankee fans will be able to sing 'I got Yu babe.

    ReplyDelete
  33. That was good Pat. Love it. Sonny and Cher. 'I got YU babe.'

    ReplyDelete
  34. We will know in a couple more days.

    ReplyDelete
  35. The hour is growing closer. Who gets Yu.

    ReplyDelete
  36. We may not know about Yu tomorrow. I think the Japanese team has four days to decide to accept the bid or not. So it could be anytime between tomorrow and next Monday.

    ReplyDelete
  37. No news is good news on Yu.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Love this blog. Best posters as a whole I have ever come across.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Soooooooooonnnnnnnn.

    ReplyDelete
  40. The bidding is done. Waiting for an outcome.

    ReplyDelete
  41. One way or the other we will know about Yus future by 5pm Tuesday, or it could be anytime earlier.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Darvish reported wants a 5 year/$75M contract. Assuming a $50M posting fee, that makes the deal $125M total. That is Sabathia territory, folks. We have tons of great young pitching talent in the pipeline thanks to WIN METHOD. It may be more prudent just to wait it out.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Merry christmas everyone.

    ReplyDelete
  44. You may be right William. Even though Darvish is WIN METHOD and would love to b e a Yankee, the risk may be far greater than the reward, if any.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Probably will not hear any word on Darvish over the weekend. Unless it is late Sunday night, because it would be early Monday morning in Japan.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I almost really hope the Yankees don't get Darvish. Just to much commotion. Just play WIN METHOD baseball.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Who gets Yu? To be or not to be, that is the question.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Merry Christmas with or without Darvish.

    ReplyDelete
  49. If the Japanese make the announcement re Darvish at 9am their time Monday, that would be 11pm here tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  50. If Vic is right, the world will know in a little over nine hours.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Well it is now 6pm in Japan and no word. It appears they know how to really milk this fiasco.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Whoever gets Yu may be selling their future for an untested MLB ready pitcher.

    ReplyDelete
  53. The Japanese have said they will let the world know around 9pm tonight who gets Darvish.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Merry Christmas to everyone here at the WIN METHOD blog, and especially you WIN METHOD. Love ya,

    ReplyDelete
  55. The Rangers have won the Darvish lottery. The big question is, will Darvish be WIN METHOD in Texas?????

    ReplyDelete
  56. If Yu wanted to play for the Yankees, I wonder how he will feel being in Texas. Far cry from the Big Apple.

    ReplyDelete
  57. The future is ours. We have better than Yu on the near horizon.

    ReplyDelete
  58. I now can root against Yu.

    ReplyDelete
  59. 2012 is looking to be a very nice season.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Think positive, no Yu is good Yu. Merry Christmas.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Merry Christmas

    ReplyDelete
  93. Me too. Merry Christmas.

    ReplyDelete
  94. Back from the in-laws late last night. Merry Christmas.

    ReplyDelete
  95. Hope everyone had a great Christmas and got what they want. Hope we get what we want with 28 in 12.

    ReplyDelete
  96. All seems to be peacefull on the Yankee rumor mill.

    ReplyDelete
  97. No deals no trades looking good. But I bet something pops.

    ReplyDelete
  98. Merry Christmas, better late than never. And a Happy New Year, the early bird catches the wqorm.

    ReplyDelete
  99. Merry Christmas and a great new year to all.

    ReplyDelete
  100. Lets get 28 in 12 and make the New Year a great Yankee year.

    ReplyDelete
  101. Happy New Year everyone.

    ReplyDelete
  102. I am really looking forward to the new year and Yankee baseball. 28 in 12.

    ReplyDelete
  103. I see Afraud went to a specialist in Germany to try to repair his steroid ravaged body.

    ReplyDelete
  104. Happy New Year and best wishes for a successful 2012 season.

    ReplyDelete
  105. Happy New Year. 28 in 12

    ReplyDelete
  106. 28 in 12 for the New Year.

    ReplyDelete
  107. It is now time for 28 in 12.

    ReplyDelete
  108. Is it baseball season yet? Happy New Year.

    ReplyDelete
  109. I'll make a New Year prediction. Arod crashes and burns.

    ReplyDelete
  110. I tend to agree Phil. Just hope he doesn't hurt the team to much.

    ReplyDelete
  111. My wish for 2012, a championship one for the Yankees and their fans.

    ReplyDelete
  112. another year, another championship. Let it be.

    ReplyDelete
  113. Get it done this year.

    ReplyDelete
  114. Spring training is just around the corner.

    ReplyDelete
  115. Just everyone as healthy as possible for spring training and come in shape and ready to produce.

    ReplyDelete
  116. Bloom and grow, bloom and grow. Right to the World Series.

    ReplyDelete
  117. Right on Cory. Grow your own. It costs less. The Afraud dollars are killing us.

    ReplyDelete
  118. Rumor has it Cesar Cabral is going to get a very good look as a lefty reliever this spring.

    ReplyDelete
  119. Isn't he just a kid with no MLB experience?

    ReplyDelete
  120. Wasn't he involved with KC and the sux some how?

    ReplyDelete
  121. Yankees acquired LHP Cesar Cabral from the Royals for cash considerations.
The Royals selected Cabral from the Red Sox in Thursday's Rule 5 Draft. The 22-year-old left-hander posted a 2.95 ERA this season while striking out 70 over 55 innings between High- and Double-A. He'll try to make the Yankees' bullpen out of spring training. Dec 8 - 12:48 PM

The Yankees obtained Cabral from KC for cash just two hours after KC drafted him from the bosux via the rule 5 draft. Being just 22 years old, WIN METHOD may have pulled one out of the bag for the Yankees.

    ReplyDelete
  122. Thanks William. Good info.

    ReplyDelete
  123. Things are starting to warm up. Baseball season grows near.

    ReplyDelete
  124. I wonder if the Yankees and KC scammed the hapless sux.

    ReplyDelete
  125. Lets start the new year out right. The sux suck.

    ReplyDelete
  126. To the two previous comments. I hope so to the first and I know so to the second.

    ReplyDelete
  127. Can't wait for spring training. going to Tampa to take in a few games and get an early start on spring and some warm weather.

    ReplyDelete
  128. Here is what Cabral has done in winter ball since his acquisition by the Yanks.

Yankees Rule 5 pick Cesar Cabral has been dealing down in the Dominican Republic this winter. The left-hander has a 0.77 ERA through 19 relief appearances. He’s struck out 13, walked three and opponents are hitting just .171 against him.

In his past seven outings, he’s pitched 4.1 innings allowing no runs on two hits and one walk while striking out five.

Lefties at hitting .211/.286/.211 with no extra-base hits, but right-handers have been even worse, batting just .136/.174/.136.

    ReplyDelete
  129. At 22, you never know. Much room for development and improvement. Lightning in a bottle.

    ReplyDelete
  130. It will all work out. We are loaded with quality pitching from top to bottom. The pundits and stat frauds may not think so, because they are misguided and corrupted by individual stats, while what counts, WINS are over looked.

    ReplyDelete
  131. We will rock and roll this year. This is 28 in 12.

    ReplyDelete
  132. Jorge Posada, the best catcher in baseball over the past 2o years is retiring, wearing no other uniform than that of the Yankees.

    ReplyDelete
  133. Hip Hip Jorge. Hip Hip Jorge. Thanks for all you did and being the winner you are. There will be a day in your honor I am sure.

    ReplyDelete
  134. Posada will be a Hall of Famer if the writers don't screw him.

    ReplyDelete
  135. Jorge was a great Yankee. He will be missed.

    ReplyDelete
  136. Thanks Jorge, Good luck and best wishes.

    ReplyDelete
  137. Best wishes to the Posada family. thanks for the memories Jorge.

    ReplyDelete
  138. You will be missed Jorge. Next stop HOF.

    ReplyDelete
  139. Is it time for baseball yet?

    ReplyDelete
  140. We will miss you Jorge. Good luck.

    ReplyDelete
  141. No news on Texas signing Darvish yet.

    ReplyDelete
  142. Didn't WIN METHOD say Darcish wanted to be a Yankee. He may not want to play in Texas.

    ReplyDelete
  143. I think the Rangers have something like another 10 days to sign him.

    ReplyDelete
  144. Wouldn't it be something if The Rangers can't sign Darvish. I wonder what Darvish will get if he stays in Japan. The difference may not worth him signing with the Rangers if he wanted to play for the Yankees.

    ReplyDelete
  145. One source I found says Jan 19 is the final day for Texas to sign Darvish.

    ReplyDelete
  146. That should be right. Texas earned the rights to Darvish on Dec 20th. 11 days to the 31st and 19 days in Jan = 30 days.

    ReplyDelete
  147. Six weeks and we have baseball, the greatest sport in the world.

    ReplyDelete
  148. I have it from the horses mouth. Derek Jeter is coming to spring training in tip top shape and looking far another solid year leading his team to the playoffs.

    ReplyDelete
  149. Thank you WIN METHOD. Jeter is the face of baseball and our leader. Love ya

    ReplyDelete
  150. If the Rangers are going to sign Darvish, they are waiting to the last minute. Or if they have signed him already, they are going to wait to the last minute to announce it.

    ReplyDelete
  151. The Yankees have traded Jesus Montero and received Pineda from the Mariners for him and they also signed the Dodgers Kuroda. that's two solid starters for a player the Yankees had no position for. WIN METHOD stated """"If we do not get the rights to Darvish, there is one more option which I am unable to discuss at this time.""""

    ReplyDelete
  152. Montero and Noesi for Pineda and Campos. Hmm even Campos doesnt seem too bad. I actually like this deal.
We lose a top notch hitter who for us was trying to put a square peg into a round hole.

    ReplyDelete
  153. I am dancing with glee. What a nice surprise from the Yankees. WIN METHOD is a busy little beaver.

    ReplyDelete
  154. Noesi will do well, hopefully Pineda will do better. Montero gone give the team alot more flexibility,

    ReplyDelete
  155. What a nice two deals for the Yankees. Hopefully stronger pitching and a very good hitter that it would be hard to use everyday moved on.

    ReplyDelete
  156. That gives the YANKEES a rotation of 1.Sabathia, 2.Nova, 3.Kuroda, 4.Pineda, and the 5 spot between Burnett, Hughes and Garcia. What depth.

    ReplyDelete
  157. I wonder what the Yankees will do if Adam Warren blooms this spring. Watch out.

    ReplyDelete
  158. The other guy, Campos is a very good young arm also. All in all, looks like a very solid deal for the Yankees. Time will tell.

    ReplyDelete
  159. Pretty much ensures another playoff year with Jeter leading the way.

    ReplyDelete
  160. With as many quality starters as the Yankees have, it takes alot of pressure of guys tow in even though they have to win. WIN METHOD know what I mean.

    ReplyDelete
  161. Great deal by the Yankees. 28 in 12.

    ReplyDelete
  162. The Yankees did a fine job, dumping a very possibly real good hitter that they had no fit for.

    ReplyDelete
  163. This just has to be the most positive, glass in half full Yankee blog in the world. 28 in 12.

    ReplyDelete
  164. What do the Yankees have up their sleeve next?

    ReplyDelete
  165. The Rangers are down to about 4 days with Darvish. It is said they are also talking with Fielder. Unlikely they will sign both, but you never know.

    ReplyDelete
  166. The only reason to look at Fielder is if they think they will not sign Darvish.

    ReplyDelete
  167. We save 120 million by not getting Darvish, WIN METHOD or not, and then get stronger and younger pitching and save money.

    ReplyDelete
  168. Love these deals. Now we are stronger than last year.

    ReplyDelete
  169. Five weeks until pitchers and catcher report. It's going to be a great year.

    ReplyDelete
  170. The Rangers say it's a sure thing they sign Darvish. I wonder if Darvish knows.

    ReplyDelete
  171. The Rangers may have to have Darvish just to compete with the Yankees.

    ReplyDelete
  172. This is going to be a banner year for the Yankees. I feel it in my bones.

    ReplyDelete
  173. The Rangerss have 10 hours left to sign Darvish. It only take a few seconds for him to sign his name.

    ReplyDelete
  174. I would be great if both Pineda and Nova improve over last year and Hughes comes back the way we know he can.

    ReplyDelete
  175. Darvish and Rangers have just reached a last minute six year deal. Pity the Rangers, they just spent over a 100mil on a pitcher who really doesn't want to pitch for them. Very not WIN METHOD. Look for this signing to hurt the Rangers.

    ReplyDelete
  176. Darvish cost the Rangers over 110mil for six years. I think the Rangers are screwed.

    ReplyDelete
  177. The Rangers may not even make the playoffs next year and if Darvish turns out to be a bust or gets hurt it will be a double whammy.

    ReplyDelete
  178. I rather have a 22year old Pineda than a 25 year old Darvish who has never thrown a major league pitch.

    ReplyDelete
  179. The competitive juices will flow for Darvish once he is with Texas, but in the back of his mind he will always know he wanted to be a Yankee. Lets see what happens down the road.

    ReplyDelete
  180. Love to see other teams spend millions upon millions. While we bloom and grow from within.

    ReplyDelete
  181. Not getting Darvish has worked out better for the Yankees. They got a younger and possibly better pitcher with MLB experience and an even younger prospect for no money. WOW!

    ReplyDelete
  182. As we go for 28 in 12 has anyone noticed we have not seen hide nor hair of any stat fraud losers.

    ReplyDelete
  183. The stat frauds can't compete with our facts. They live on suppositions, maybes, ill conceived man made formulas, and play in the fantasy world.

    ReplyDelete
  184. It's rainy and in the 60's here today and just 30 days until spring training opens for the Yankees. Hooray!

    ReplyDelete
  185. Stat frauds, when you discover that winning is why baseball is played and the players who help their team win the most are the best. then incorporate those facts into your fantasy world games, then and only then you may have something worthwhile.

    ReplyDelete
  186. well stated RLA. 28 in 12. Nothing else matters.

    ReplyDelete
  187. I still can't believe how good our pitching is going to be. Deep deep deep.

    ReplyDelete
  188. Yeah, this is going to be a fun season.

    ReplyDelete
  189. Come back stat frauds, come back. We need some fools to entertain us.

    ReplyDelete
  190. Four weeks from today we open camp. Let the season begin.

    ReplyDelete
  191. Going back to the Montero deal I feel it's much easier to find a good bat than a good arm, worth giving up Montero.

    ReplyDelete
  192. Jorge Posada officially retires thanking his buddy Derek Jeter for keeping him focused and positive. True WIN METHOD.

    ReplyDelete
  193. Salute Jorge, you were the best catcher in baseball for your career. Down to two, Mo and Jeets.

    ReplyDelete
