        WIN METHOD - YANKEE BASEBALL

2025 SEASON - RACE TO THE PLAYOFFS

Perfect timing YANKEE fans.  Here we are just a quarter into the 2025 season, just won a three game series from the Mets, and are leading the American League East Division by five games.  A nice start to the season, and without our "ace" starter Gerrit Cole, who is out for the season after under going Tommy John surgery.

The good news from the 2024-2025 hot stove season is, no, make it great news, the YANKEES did not sign Juan Soto. 😊.  The YANKEES and Brian Cashman had to go with Plan B.  The result being, the YANKEES signed Max Fried, who has stepped right into the 'ace' position as starting pitcher. Signed Cory Bellinger, who has settled in as a left handed force in the lineup, as an everyday outfielder with spectacular defense. Signed Paul Goldschmidt who has been a gem offensively and defensively at first base.  Allowed Jason 'Martian' Dominguez to be an everyday left fielder, who at 22 years of age, is still learning and developing as a hitter and outfielder and doing it at the Major League Baseball level.

Then there is Aaron Judge, there is nothing I can say that you all can't see for yourself, what Aaron Judge brings to this team and MLB baseball, both on and off the field, his character and his integrity.  A true Most Valuable Player.

In other good news, the YANKEES have just had DJ LeMahieu return to the lineup after suffering several odd injuries which have kept DJ on the disabled list (DL), more on than off for over a year. Initial results, albeit just a few games have been positive.  The on-going development of Will Warren, a young starting pitcher who has pitched his way onto the rotation and seems to be improving with each start, building confidence and acumen.  Luis Gil, who suffered a high-grade lat strain in late February at spring training camp is on the mend, and we may see him join the starting rotation in late June.  Jonathan Loaisiga has returned to the bullpen relief staff after a year on the disabled list with major elbow surgery.  He has made three appearances so far, and has looked very dominant.

YANKEE youngsters, first baseman/catcher Ben Rice, and catcher Austin Wells are still blooming and growing, getting regular playing time at the MLB  level while contributing to YANKEE wins.  A sad note, Oswaldo Cabrera who had won the starting third base position, broke his ankle at home plate this past week, scoring a run.  He will be out for at least three months, but should be back by September.

Once more, thank you WIN METHOD baseball fans. This blog will break two billion two hundred million views in a couple of weeks.  That will happen because of your unwavering belief, viewership, and comments on this blog.  You are the most knowledgeable and intelligent baseball fans in the world.  You all know how to judge baseball talent using the WIN METHOD philosophy of producing when it counts and matters the most.

Let's all enjoy this season, the run to the playoffs, and beyond.  The best is yet to come.    LETS GO YANKEES, LETS GO.

  4. Vivas at bat in 8th last night was big. How many two strike foul balls did he hit before he put a ball in play that was the game winning at bat. The at bats after his got an insurance run and and a six run lead. Getting the lead was the key. Fried, another game with a no decision. He could easily have a couple more wins right now.

    ReplyDelete
  34. It wasn't easy, but it was a win. It was a nail biter, edge of your chair game. A game where every Yankee pitcher. Rodon 6 innings and Leiter, Williams and Weaver 1 inning each produced when it mattered most. 1-0 WIN.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Schmidt, Fried, Warren for Colorado weekend series.

    ReplyDelete
  36. If you think you are playing a team that can't beat you, you will get beat. If you think you can't lose, you will lose. Don't get bitten on the backside, play to hard with every pitch and with every at bat. Give no quarter, destroy the enemy or they will destroy you.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I hate assuming the Yankees have to win three games this weekend. But, how many runs will they score over the three games. 10, 20, 30, 40?

Bellinger night off. Do not take your foot off the gas pedal.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Judge single Goldschmidt triple 1-0 Yanks after one.

    ReplyDelete
  40. After Schmidt gives up the tying run in 4th all by himself, single, wild pitch, single, Judge gets it back in the 5th with a HR. 2-1.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Schmidt in fifth does it again, gives up 2 runs putting the Yankees down 3-2 after five. Pathetic game from Schmidt against the worst team in baseball.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Final. Yankees lose 3-2 to the worst team in baseball. Schmidt take the well deserved loss allowing all 3 runs in 4 2/3 innings of very poor pitching. Judge solo HR and Goldschmidt rbi triple Yankee runs. Yankee lineup was mesmerized by a very bad pitcher.

  45. Lets go Yankees, make up for yesterday.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Two innings Yankees lead off with singles, followed immediately by double play grounders. Have four hits in two innings, but only lead 1-0 because of Judge HR.

    ReplyDelete
  47. I hope everybody is happy now. Yankees with a 10 run fifth inning and an 11-1 lead.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Yankees win 13-1. Series even at one each. Rubber game tomorrow.

  49. Final. Yankees win 13-1. Every starting position player had at least one hit. One big 10 run inning in the fifth for an 11-1 lead. Fried got his seventh win with no losses. Check the box score if you want or need more info.

  51. How about some crooked number innings early this afternoon.

    ReplyDelete
  52. At least Boone is not RLRLRLRLR today.

    ReplyDelete
  53. The Yankees just took a 4-2 lead in the top of the fifth, still batting and torrential rains hit, field covered with men on 2nd and 3rd and two outs.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Back in action. Loaisiga in for the fifth, 1,2,3. Yanks lead 4-2 after five.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Win or lose this game and the series, I have to say the Yankees offense had been pathetic this series. The worst team in baseball with the worst pitching staff have in essence stifled them.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Top of 8th Dominguez on second with one out, Volpe feebly strikes out on ball in dirt, then Escarra lines a two rbi single to right field to score a run when it matters most for a 5-3 lead. Still need six outs for the win.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Final. Yankees win 5-4 by the skin of their teeth to the worst team in baseball who gave the Yankees all they could handle.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Final. Yankees win 5-4. Warren goes four innings allowing 2 first inning runs and then dominant the next three innings. Then the storms arrived and shut down everything with the Yankees batting in the fifth and a 4-2 lead. After almost two hours the game resumed. Loaisiga in for the the fifth and went 1 2/3 innings allowing 1 run. Leiter went 1 1/3 scoreless innings for a hold . The Yankees led 4-3 after seven innings. The Yankees added an insurance run in the 8th on an Escarra two out when it matters most rbi single for a 5-3 lead. Williams pitched a scoreless 8th. for a hold. Weaver in for the ninth really struggled, first batter solo HR, score 5-4. A single, an out, another single, another out, and then a comeback roller to end the game, earning the save. The Yankees won the series, which is all that matters, however, aesthetically they looked terrible doing it. Glad to get on a plane to Los Angeles.

    ReplyDelete
  59. It's bad enough playing edge of your seat games against good teams, but when you play them against maybe the worst team in baseball history, that is not good.

  64. Three innings complete, Yankees bats nine up nine down. Nothing, nada, nil. Trail 1-0. TIME TO WAKE UP AND GET GOING.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Thank you yankeefan2, your yelling woke them up. After nine straight outs the first four batters in the 4th reached base and Yanks scored 4 runs to take the lead.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Final. Yankees win 5-1. A four run fourth inning did the trick after going 3 up 3 down over the first three innings. Yarbrough goes six innings allowing the only Angel run of the game on a leadoff HR in the first inning. Volpe the big hit of the game a bases loaded 3 rbi double. De Los Santos 1 1/3, Leiter 2/3, and Weaver 1 inning shutout ball to close out the game.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Yankees take first game of a three-game series with the Angles 5-1. Rodon starts game two tomorrow night or tonight depending on your time zone.

Rodon holds 'em the lineup whips 'em.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Yanks lead 1-0 thru five innings on Rice home run. Rodon has been solid. A crooked number inning for Yankees would help.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Seven strong solid in control innings from Rodon and leaves leading 3-0.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Theeeeeeeeeeeeeee Yankeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees Winnnnnnnnn 3-2.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Final. Yankees win 3-2. Rice and Peraza each with a solo HR, and Volpe rbi single. Rodon with a brilliant seven shutout innings for the win. Loaisiga a 123 8th for the hold. And then there was Williams who did everything he could to blow the game allowing 2 runs in the 9th and was pretty pathetic again, but he got the last out and earned a putrid save (PS). The win clinches this series and Yanks play for a sweep tomorrow.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Yanks with a 3-2 win after leading 3-0 going into the bottom of 9th. Williams almost blew another close out.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Yanks win 3-2 to take first two games of this series and play for a sweep tomorrow.

Schmidt with a top effort should do the trick. A few more runs from the lineup would also help.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Score first, score often, and produce when it matters most. Lets go Yankees.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Yankees lead 1-0 after first two innings, but have left the bases loaded in each inning. Failed production when it would have counted big time. Come on guys.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Yanks up 1-0 after 2.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Schmidt goes six scoreless innings and leaves game with Yankees up 1-0. Need nine outs from the bullpen. Or several runs from the hitters would be nice.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Yanks up 1-0 after 6.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Final. Yankees win 1-0. Volpe sacrifice fly in first inning the only run of the game. Schmidt six innings for the win. Hamilton 1 2/3 innings and a hold, Hill 1/3 inning for the hold, and Leiter the ninth inning for the save. Nothing else happened except for the Volpe sacfly, no one for either team produced when in mattered most for the entire game.

    ReplyDelete
  85. Heck, it wasn't pretty, as an offensive game it was sad. You could say it was a well-pitched game, but that would be subjective. Only thing that matters is the Yankees won 1-0.

    ReplyDelete
  86. Yanks edge Angels 1-0 to sweep series. Off day tomorrow. The the Dodgers in LA over the weekend. Hope the bats come alive with the sound of hard hit base hits.

    ReplyDelete
  96. Yankee bullpen crashes in 7th, down 8-5. Dodgers producing when it matters most.

    ReplyDelete
  97. Final. Yankees lose 8-5. Fried got hit hard and takes his first loss of the season. Yankees scored 4 runs in first three innings, all on home runs, 3 solo and 1 with a man on. Nothing for the last six innings, never producing once when in mattered most. Dodgers to 2 runs on solo home runs but scored 6 runs producing singles and doubles when it mattered most for the win.

  120. Final. Yankees win 7-3. Yarbrough goes six brilliant innings allowing one run for the win. Loaisiga pitched the 7th and coughed up 2 solo home runs in a poor effort. Williams a shutout 8th 1,2,3 for a hold. Hill a 1,2,3 closes it out. Rice 2 run HR and 2 rbis. LeMahieu 4 hits and 2 rbis with a big game when it mattered. Every Yankee starter had a hit except Judge. Peraza and Dominguez each had an rbi when it mattered most. Yanks fly home happy.

    ReplyDelete
  121. After the first two games and getting hammered by the Dodgers, Yankee fans should be feeling pretty good about the way they played tonight. Yarbrough did everything he needed to do and the batters produced a lot of scoring opportunities and produced when it mattered most enough times to earn the win.

First hit in game for Yankees didn't come until the 4th inning, it was followed by their second hit, a 2 run HR by Bellinger for a 2-0 lead after 4.

    ReplyDelete
  152. Yankees load bases with no one out in fifth and fail to score. Not what you want and just keep the other team in the game.

    ReplyDelete
  169. Yanks come back with 2 in the 8th to trail 8-7 after 8. Hamilton in for the 9th and stinks up the Stadium, as first five sux batters reach base, now lead 10-7, two on and one out. It looks like Boone is going to let him rot out there. Double play, to late. Yanks need 3 to tie and 4 to win in the 9th.

    ReplyDelete
  170. Final. Yankees lose 10-7. Judge comes up a zero tonight. Yarbrough was hit hard, takes the loss allowing 8 runs in 4 innings. Series is even, rubber game tomorrow night.
