        WIN METHOD - YANKEE BASEBALL

2025 SEASON - RACE TO THE PLAYOFFS

Perfect timing YANKEE fans.  Here we are just a quarter into the 2025 season, just won a three game series from the Mets, and are leading the American League East Division by five games.  A nice start to the season, and without our "ace" starter Gerrit Cole, who is out for the season after under going Tommy John surgery.

The good news from the 2024-2025 hot stove season is, no, make it great news, the YANKEES did not sign Juan Soto. 😊.  The YANKEES and Brian Cashman had to go with Plan B.  The result being, the YANKEES signed Max Fried, who has stepped right into the 'ace' position as starting pitcher. Signed Cory Bellinger, who has settled in as a left handed force in the lineup, as an everyday outfielder with spectacular defense. Signed Paul Goldschmidt who has been a gem offensively and defensively at first base.  Allowed Jason 'Martian' Dominguez to be an everyday left fielder, who at 22 years of age, is still learning and developing as a hitter and outfielder and doing it at the Major League Baseball level.

Then there is Aaron Judge, there is nothing I can say that you all can't see for yourself, what Aaron Judge brings to this team and MLB baseball, both on and off the field, his character and his integrity.  A true Most Valuable Player.

In other good news, the YANKEES have just had DJ LeMahieu return to the lineup after suffering several odd injuries which have kept DJ on the disabled list (DL), more on than off for over a year. Initial results, albeit just a few games have been positive.  The on-going development of Will Warren, a young starting pitcher who has pitched his way onto the rotation and seems to be improving with each start, building confidence and acumen.  Luis Gil, who suffered a high-grade lat strain in late February at spring training camp is on the mend, and we may see him join the starting rotation in late June.  Jonathan Loaisiga has returned to the bullpen relief staff after a year on the disabled list with major elbow surgery.  He has made three appearances so far, and has looked very dominant.

YANKEE youngsters, first baseman/catcher Ben Rice, and catcher Austin Wells are still blooming and growing, getting regular playing time at the MLB  level while contributing to YANKEE wins.  A sad note, Oswaldo Cabrera who had won the starting third base position, broke his ankle at home plate this past week, scoring a run.  He will be out for at least three months, but should be back by September.

Once more, thank you WIN METHOD baseball fans. This blog will break two billion two hundred million views in a couple of weeks.  That will happen because of your unwavering belief, viewership, and comments on this blog.  You are the most knowledgeable and intelligent baseball fans in the world.  You all know how to judge baseball talent using the WIN METHOD philosophy of producing when it counts and matters the most.

Let's all enjoy this season, the run to the playoffs, and beyond.  The best is yet to come.    LETS GO YANKEES, LETS GO.

Interesting lineup > more left-handed bats the right against a left-hander. Hope it works out.

Maybe the analysists think left handed bats do better than right handed bats. I guess we will find out. No matter, it still comes down to producing when it matters most, no matter who does it.

Final. Yankees win 1-0. Warren goes 5 2/3 innings. Hill 1, Leiter 1/3, Loaisiga 1, and Williams 1 go the final 3 1/3 innings. No one allowed a run. Leiter gets the win. Loaisiga gets a hold, and Williams gets the save. Reyes scores winning run on a Goldschmidt with winning single in eighth inning.

Frank Tagriello said...

Yanks lose it in 10th 2-1. Yankees top of 10th an abomination of garbage umpiring. Volpe called out at third base on a steal attempt, but he was safe. LeMahieu line drive down right field line called foul, but ball clearly hit foul line and was fair. And that is even with replays showing both calls were wrong.

will-i-am said...

Final. Yankees lose 2-1 in ten innings. Pathetic umpiring likely cost Yanks the game in10th inning. Runner called out on a clear steal of third base. And a line drive that hit the foul line called foul. Hill takes the loss. That's baseball.

Sue Gordon said...

Last two game Yanks scored one run in each game, yet won one and lost one. Two more games in Boston to play this weekend. Score runs, many, in both games and win both games. LETS GO YANKEES.

I would think the Yankees are overdue for an explosion of runs. Add in a bounce back start from Rodon and we should get a win tonight. But it is baseball.

OK just about time to play Yankee WIN METHOD baseball. Lets go Yankees.

candycane said...

Yanks down 1-0 after 2.

Wilsonsway said...

Yankee bats ice cold. Five innings tonight 0 runs. Down 2-0.

Steve(winstheonlystat) said...

Rodon has failed three times tonight to get out of an inning without giving up a run with two outs and a runner in scoring position. In other words, the opposite is that the sux produced three times with a runner in scoring position scoring three times. Down 3-0.

will-i-am said...

Final. A flop. Yankees lose 4-3. After being down 4-0 after six innings, scored 2 in seventh and 1 in ninth, but alas too little too late for another series loss to the sux. Will need a win tomorrow to avoid a sweep.

Four innings in, Yankees playing extremely poorly again. Base running⬇️producing when it matters most⬇️. Still five innings to go.

will-i-am said...

Final. Yankees lose 2-0. Get swept in Boston. They looked bad this series. Need to come home and sweep the Angles starting tomorrow.

NJYANKEE said...

will-i-am, it was a disaster. This three game series was the worse the Yankees have had for 103 years. Now that's bad. Also, I would think it was the worse threes game series that Judge has ever had, considering who they were playing. So many strikeouts then culminating the series with a double play with two runners on and a chance to win. One of the worse if not the worse.

White Knight said...

After nine innings 0-0. Failed when it mattered most. Angels 0-4. Yankees 0-11. Loaisiga in for 10th.

Mike Smith said...

Going to the 11th. Yankees fail 3 more times when it mattered most, now 0-14 in game. One productive hit just once wins the game, but nooooooooo. Loaisiga staying in for 11th.

bigbadwolf said...

Yankees lose 1-0 in 11. Loaisiga gets the loss. Yankees go 0-17 when it mattered most in one their most pathetic games of all time.

will-i-am said...

Final. Yankees lose 1-0 in eleven innings. The Yankees had seventeen opportunities to produce when it mattered most to win the game and failed every time. Schmidt's best pitched game of his career is wasted. The bats are dead for the last five games. Loaisiga takes the loss he did not deserve.

George W said...

Warren pitches a fine game, a quality start, six innings runs and K's 11. But leaves down 3-0 as Yankees are being stifled again.

will-i-am said...

Final. Yanks do it again, don't score a run, and this game not even close. Lose 4-0. Warren had a great outing, going six innings with 11 strikeouts, giving up 3 runs. Judge looks to be in a funk, has looked horrendous for about a week now, and his batting average has plummeted 30 points.

Bellinger solo HR in 4th for a 2-a Yankee lead. That is the first time the Yankees have had a lead in any game since last Thursday in KC. Today is Wednesday, that is a week.

Carl Hooks said...

Volpe with an error 'when it mattered most' on double play ball that would have ended the inning, but instead gave the Angels a run and a 3-2 lead.

Eddie OConnor said...

The Yankee go down the Rangoon receptacle again. Lose 3-2. Volpe error cost them the game. To top it off he ended the game by striking out on a fast ball down the middle, missing it by six inches. Horrendous baseball.

will-i-am said...

Final. Yankees lose 3-2. Both Yankee runs were solo HR's, Chisholm and Bellinger. The Yankees for another game did not produce when it mattered most (except for the solo home runs) for the entire game. Volpe error gave the game to the Angels. Didn't make the play when it mattered most. Cruz took the loss. Yankees now have the chance of getting swept in a four game series tomorrow afternoon.

Mark Wagoner said...

Six straight losses. NO ONE is hitting. But still in first place.

Cory said...

Rodon starts todays afternoon game at the Stadium and will try to prevent the Yankees being swept in the four game series with the Angels. If the Yankees lose today they ill have been swept in two consecutive series and have lost their seventh game in a row. This Yankee past week of baseball has been one of the worse, if not the worse, stretches of baseball they have played in a very long time. It has been the most non WIN METHOD stretch of games I can remember.
