WIN METHOD YANKEE BASEBALL 2024 PLAYOFFS
Hello YANKEE fans and baseball fans from around the world. The YANKEES are in the playoffs, and finished the American League regular season with the best record in the league, earning the the number one seed in the AL playoffs. They will start the playoffs, as of now, on Saturday October fifth at YANKEE Stadium and will play the winning team from the Kansas City Royals and Baltimore Orioles playoff round.
It was a long and hard journey to the playoff, with many ups and downs along the way. The YANKEES started off the season very strong, faltered in June and July, then finished strong in September to earn the top spot in the playoffs. It must be said again, only the best players and best teams are in the playoffs, and through the playoffs the best players and best teams will win each round and move on to the ultimate goal of being the World Series winner.
As with every other team, the YANKEES had their injuries. Injuries to start the season, through the season, at the end of the season, and yes, in the playoffs. As fans, all we can do is root for and support our team, stay positive and leave the negative comments to all the 'loser' forums and fans on the internet. LETS TO YANKEES. Win of lose, LETS GO YANKEES.
As always I would like to thank you, the fans of this blog. You have reached record numbers for views of the WIN METHOD blog this year. The views of this blog have been overwhelming - over these last few months, reaching higher and higher monthly views than ever before. To be honest I believe the Presidential race has something to do with the large number of views. THANK YOU fans, everyone of you who comes here to the WIN METHOD YANKEE baseball blog, the best in the world, with the smartest, most knowledgeable, and intelligent baseball fans.
Remember, baseball is not played on paper with meaningless stats that some not so smart fans live and die by. Baseball is played on the field by teams of multiple players doing the best they can. The teams, with all the players on each team, who win the most, by producing when it counts and matters the most, always win. All the players on each team contribute to the success of their team. That is the WIN METHOD. The WIN METHOD is baseball at its best.
In a few days the YANKEE will get to show what they have in the playoffs. Producing when it counts and matters most will make the difference. WIN METHOD baseball is the difference. WIN METHOD baseball will determine the best players and the best team when the playoffs are concluded. Only wins and winning will ever define the best players and teams.
LETS GO YANKEES!!!!!!!!!!!
Tigers beat Astros 3-1. Great game.
ReplyDeleteCoincidence? After watching the KC-Houston game came here. Saw the new blog post by WIN METHOD, and heck, didn't it fit to a tee, the game I just watched. KC produced and the Astros failed to produce. KC wins the game. Great blogpost WIN METHOD. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteAll I can add, is thank you WIN METHOD for all the compliments, and thank you for the WIN METHOD blog. It is the only baseball forum worth coming to. LETS GO YANKEES.
ReplyDeleteRay Freeman, it was Detroit playing Houston.
ReplyDeleteKC beats O's 1-0. KC produced one time when it mattered most, the O's had chances and never did. End of story, the team who produced won, the team that didn't lost.
Mets and Brewers in a battle. Brewers up 4-3 after four.
ReplyDeleteMets lead Brewers 8-4 thru seven. Whole lot of producing when it mattered most by the Mets.
ReplyDeleteMets take game one over Brewers 8-4.
ReplyDeleteHalfway thru VP debate. Vance destroying Walz on every issue.
ReplyDeletePadres 3 Braves 0 after six innings.
ReplyDeleteFinal, Padres over Braves 4-0.
ReplyDeleteFour more playoff round games today.
ReplyDeleteThe best players and the best team win each game, each series, all the time.
ReplyDeleteCBS pulled an ABC last night. It is hard to have an honest and fair debate when the moderators are one sided and corrupt. Moderator questions were biased and often the preface to questions attacked Trump while not even one question attacked Harris. Moderators even muted Vance's microphone when he challenged a moderator comment about a Vance correct answer to a question. Liberals and manure are hand and hand.
ReplyDeleteFort Liberty formerly Fort Bragg in Fayetteville, NC has a base full of helicopters that could be used for aide to western NC towns, villages, and cities bringing water, food, fuel, medical supplies, and evacuations. But the Biden/Harris/Cooper triumvirate of criminal liberals have not given the 'go ahead' for there use. No comment from the three stooges.
ReplyDeleteConclusion, they are likely MAGA voters, to hell with them.
Detroit leads Houston 1-0 after six innings.
ReplyDeleteKC early 1-0 lead over Orioles after two.
ReplyDeleteTigers knock off Astros 5-2. Tigers will face the Indians in Cleveland for next round of AL playoffs. Astros go home.
ReplyDeleteKansas City eliminates the O's with a 2-1 win. KC heads to New York to face the Yankees Saturday. The O's head home to watch.
ReplyDeleteMets on top of Brewers 3-2 thru five.
ReplyDeleteBrewers down Met 5-3, even series, final game tomorrow, winner moves to next round, loser goes home.
ReplyDeleteSan Diego Padres knock out the Atlanta Braves from the playoffs with a 5-4 win. The Padres move on to the NLDS round and play the LA Dodgers in the next round of the playoffs.
ReplyDeleteRubber game today between Mets and Brewers. Winner advances to next playoff round. Loser's season is over.
ReplyDeleteThe joe-bama/commie MALADY administration has no money for American flood victims. They gave it all to Iran, countries that hate America, terrorists, illegal criminal immigrants that are over-running America.
ReplyDeleteSo, are you stupid enough to vote for the liberal, progressive, radical left-wing democrats again? ARE YOU REALLY THAT STUPID????
SAVE AMERICA ---- VOTE FOR DONALD TRUMP AND MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN.
Update: Met-Brewer game is 7PM tonight on espn.
ReplyDeleteFirst two games of ALDS with KC at Yankee Stadium are Saturday and Monday. Cole starts Saturday and Rodon Monday.
ReplyDeletePitchers duel, Mets 0 - Brewers 0 after six full innings.
ReplyDeleteMets down 2-0 score 4 ninth inning runs, 3 on a when it matters most HR from Pete Alonso for a 4-2 win and a trip to the NLDS.
ReplyDeleteDown to eight teams in the MLB playoffs, and New York City has two of them.
ReplyDeleteI do not like bringing politics into the devastation of hurricane Helene, but sometimes oddities and coincidences are not what they seem. Could there be a reason? Hurricane Helene has taken the lives of people is six states in the southeast. Florida was the state that the hurricane struck first with all its force and surge. Georgia was second to face the wrath of Helene, next up was South Carolina, then North Carolina, Virginia , and last Tennessee.
ReplyDeleteNow look at the death toll by state. Five states have republican governors, smart, sane, and for the people governors. One state has a democrat governor. Now look at the death totals by state.
The one state, the one with a democrat governor, had more deaths than the other five states combined. Again, ask yourself why. Oddity? coincidence? or policies and incompetence?
Here is a state-by-state list showing the number of confirmed deaths as of this morning, according to CBS:
North Carolina: 111
South Carolina: 41
Georgia: 33
Florida: 19
Tennessee: 11
Virginia: 2
Woody/Atlanta, interesting post. Using common sense and reasoning. I would think that the worst death tolls should have occurred in Florida and Georgia, the first two states that hurricane Helene passed through and while being at its most powerful stage. Hurricanes do not get stronger when traveling over land masses. So, it looks to me like it may malfeasance on the part of the governor of North Carolina.
ReplyDeleteNo deaths are acceptable, but I would not use Virginia in the numbers at all. The two deaths in Virginia to not sway the death total and percentage to any significant degree.
ReplyDeleteI also find the number of deaths in NC telling and unusual. Likely most due to unpreparedness. If that is the case, being unprepared falls on the head of the governor.

You all know the drill. Great pitching, when it matters most hitting carries the day.
LETS GO YANKEES
I'm not asking for much, but would love everyone on the team to out from this break hitting and pitching as best they can and win the next three series.
ReplyDeleteFive left bats in lineup, out ace starting, get off on the right foot and play to win. Think and do.
ReplyDeleteCleveland leading Detroit 7-0 playing the top of seventh.
ReplyDeleteLets go Yankees.
ReplyDeleteYanks down 1-0 after 2.
ReplyDeleteMets take game one of their series with the Phillies 6-2.
ReplyDeleteCole not sharp, struggling, and getting hit hard. Has given up 3 runs in 4 innings and trails 3-2.
ReplyDelete5-5 after 6.
ReplyDeleteVerdugo, two out rbi single gives Yankees 6-5 lead after seven innings.
ReplyDeleteYankees win a nail biter 6-5. Cole kept the Royals in the game, pitching a clunker. Off day tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteTough win, bullpen did their job, earning the win and the save. 6-5.
ReplyDeleteYankees take game one 6-5. Verdugo game winning hit, Weaver four out no drama save, Holmes the win. Cabrera brilliant defense at first base all night. Now the bad, Cole pitched a garbage game giving up four runs in four innings. Stanton totally useless. Judge a bad game. Volpe run costing error. So, the Yankees played a bad game and still won.
ReplyDeleteYankees played like they played all season. You never know what you get from them, from game to game. Got the win, 6-5. Starter, Cole had nothing giving up 4 runs and only going 4 innings. Volpe an error giving KC runs. Then the bullpen was sparkling.
ReplyDeleteDown, up, down, up down, even, up, win. That is how the game went for the 6-5 win.
ReplyDeleteWeaver got a four out save, struck out three and a weak roller to first base. He does throw strikes, and his pitches seem to move, not much hard contact off him. Every once in a while, which happens to every pitcher, but he is doing something right.
ReplyDeleteAnd one more time, Stanton should not be playing, nor on the team. Long term contracts tend to bite franchises.
Great win. Gotta tip my cap to Verdugo, two big hits including the game winner, and a nice sliding catch. Torres and Soto were good, Wells, Cabrera, and Jazz all had contributions. Cole, Judge, Stanton, and Volpe came up empty.
ReplyDeleteHolmes, Kahnle and Weaver shut down the last 3 1/3 innings.
Dodgers lead Padres 7-5 thru seven.
ReplyDeleteLA 7 SD5. Last at bat by Machado with two on and two out, one of the most pathetic I have seen. Very Stanton like, swinging into thin air and the ball not near the strike zone.
ReplyDeleteA squeaker yesterday. Yankees just 2-13 when it mattered most. That kept KC close and in the game. The win is what counts, everything else is just numbers.
ReplyDeleteMets lead 2-0 thru four innings.
ReplyDeleteMets 4 Phillies 3 starting the 8th innings. Come on guys, hold on.
ReplyDeletePhillies win 7-6 on walk off rbi single. Series even at 1.
ReplyDeleteSan Diego leads Los Angeles 3-1 after three innings.
ReplyDeletePadres lead Dodgers 4-1 after 7.
ReplyDeleteFinal - Padres 10 Dodgers 2. Series tied at one game each.
ReplyDeleteOctober, 7, 2024, today marks the one-year anniversary of when middle east Islamic terrorists with the support of the joe-bama/commie MALADY administration sneak attacked and slaughter over 1200 Israeli citizens in Israel and captured hundreds more and are holding, the ones still alive hostage. The joe-bama/commie MALADY administration is a disgrace to America and the American people. Their reign of terror must be ended. This can be done with your votes on November 5, 2024 or anytime you vote in the early voting time period in your state.
ReplyDeleteI would like to see is Dominquez at DH but I know that has no chance of happening unless Stanton pulls another hammy which is very difficult to do when walking around the bases. Having someone in the middle of the lineup who can’t move is not sustainable unless he is putting up monster offensive stats, which he clearly isn't.

Grieving North Carolina families blast FEMA for hurricane 'cover up'
ReplyDelete©REUTERS / AP
Grieving families in North Carolina have been forced to bury their loved ones in their backyards - and are accusing authorities of downplaying the damage caused by Hurricane Helene. The official death toll rose to 227 over the weekend - half of whom were from North Carolina - but state and federal officials told The Spectator that this number is woefully inaccurate.
Many bodies haven't even been recovered amid debris and flooding with some not even identified. They are being transported all over the state in hopes of finding open morgue space. 'According to folks on the ground - fire, medical, law enforcement officials - they’re way underreporting the numbers. All the morgues are full and they’ve hauled a ton [of bodies] to Greensboro,' the state official said. 'People are starting to bury them in their yards because they have no place to put them.
One individual who was in Asheville when Helene hit told The Spectator: 'It's so much worse than they're saying...I think there's a massive cover-up.' The destruction from Helene, and the immense multi-state death toll, comes just days before Category 5 Hurricane Milton is set to barrel into Florida's coastline. Helene made landfall in the Big Bend region of Florida at night on September 26 before laying waste to Georgia and the Carolinas with record storm surges and tornados. North Carolina alone had six confirmed tornados on the morning of September 27, two days before 500 members of state's national guard were deployed to help with rescue efforts.
Locals say they are 'pissed' at General Major Todd Hunt, director of the North Carolina National Guard, for waiting a whole 48 hours to get boots on the ground. There were 5,500 national guardsmen deployed around this time, some of them from other states such as Florida. 'That’s why you saw the Florida National Guard and other units out there - and why private citizens stepped in, even as state and federal officials tried to shut down their efforts,' an anonymous source familiar with the situation in North Carolina told The Spectator.
The small mountain town of Swannanoa dealt with flood levels not seen since 1791, and locals have said their community was ' entirely erased .' This comes days after a whistleblower wrote a letter to Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., that details how the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has wasted and misappropriated funds in the wake of Helene and is now ' exacerbating the emergency.'
The letter to Gaetz also alleges 'hundreds if not thousands' of first responders and service members have been 'without deployment orders' with some waiting around in hotels while others 'have sat idle' as Americans throughout the southeast are in dire need. Last week, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas admitted that FEMA ran out of money to make it through the hurricane season , after it handed out more than $1 billion in taxpayer dollars to give housing assistance to illegal migrants over the last two years.
YOU VOTE FOR A LIBERAL DEMOCRAT EVER, --- YOU ARE THE PROBLEM.
Tigers and Indians 0-0 thru 8 innings, BUT in the 9th the Tigers Kerry Carpenter, when it mattered most, hits a 3-run home run for a 3-0 lead. Playing the bottom of 9th now. Popfly out to center, strike out, strike out. Tigers win, series even at one game each.
ReplyDeleteHandllemanforwhatisright, listen to the people who lived through the hurricane. Forget the lies the liberal left wing tells. The people helping those in need are neighbors, and the many groups of charities who are doing what our government is NOT doing. These volunteer men and women are saving lives and lending a helping hand to anyone who needs help. These are true Americans, who have nothing to do with left wing politics.
ReplyDelete0-0 after 2.
ReplyDeleteYanks score 1 in bottom of third for a 1-0 lead and then Rodon implodes in fourth giving up 4 runs. Will not be happy if Yanks lose tonight.
ReplyDeleteYes, I am evacuating tomorrow.
Yanks down 4-1 after six. Not producing when it mattered most. Have three innings left to right the ship.
ReplyDeleteToo little too late. Chisholm hits solo HR in ninth, but Yanks go down 4-2. Series even.
ReplyDeleteRodon gave up 4 runs in 4th inning and that was all KC needed for a 4-2 win. Yankee lineup could not deliver when they had the chances. Series even and head to KC for the next 2 games.
ReplyDeleteDull effort from lineup. Rodon over-hyped to start game and was fine for three innings. In the fourth he went flat giving up all four Royals runs and took the 4-2 loss.
ReplyDeleteSchmidt to start game three Wednesday in Kansas City.
ReplyDeleteWith Yanks loss tonight, all for league division series are tied at one game for all eight teams.
ReplyDeleteI expected more than what I got tonight from the Yankees. Oh well, this is how the regular season went. They can win or lose any game, the can look great one day and look horrible the next day.
ReplyDeleteRodon killed himself last night. Fist pumping, screaming and yelling, over hyped in the first couple of innings. You would have thought he was closing out a game in the last inning or two to save a win. After three innings of his theatrics he had nothing in the fourth inning, allowed four runs, and lost the game. He brought on his own demise.
ReplyDeleteMets 2 Phillies 0 after 4 innings.
ReplyDeleteMy Mets win 7-2. Lead NLDS 2 game to 1.
ReplyDeleteSlugfest in San Diego. Padres 6 Dodgers 5 through four innings.
ReplyDelete6-5 after 4th inning. Zeroes on board for the rest of game, Padres win 6-5 and take 2-1 lead in best of five series.
ReplyDeleteYankees in KC tonight for two games in which is now a three game series. Always good to win the first game. Got to get five innings of shutout ball from Schmidt and four more shutout innings from the bullpen. Get a few runs from the offense and win it tomorrow all tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteWhen the scum sucking joe-bama/commie MALADY administration and their will cronies and cohorts call something mis-information, you can bet your bottom dollar that what they are calling mis-information is the God honest truth. VOTE TRUMP-VANCE AND FOR ALL REPUBLICAN CANDIDATES ALL ACROSS AMERICA. SAVE AMERICA.
ReplyDeleteIn the first two games of this series the Yanks had a great chance to score first but Judge let them down with two poor at bats. I think that caused his teammates to press even more. After Rodon's solid first inning last night and with Ragan looking flustered after two walks, if Judge came through with just a single it might have been a totally different ballgame.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion Rodon was waaaaay too pumped at the beginning Monday night. I have to wonder if he just exhausted himself quicker than usual because of it. He sure does show a lot of emotion, and he may even be a basket case deep down inside.

It is what we got and it is what it is. Players just have to do it when it matters most on the field.
Tigers down the Tribe 3-0, taking a 2 game to 1 lead in series.
ReplyDeleteFrom what I have seen the American League has better teams overall.
ReplyDeleteYanks up 1-0 after 4.
ReplyDeleteCongrats NYMetfan1986. Mets their NLDS over Phillies 4-1 and will play winner of the Padres/Dodgers series in the NLCS.
ReplyDeleteWith two outs and no one on in the fifth innings and with a 2-0 lead Schmidt folds and allows a single, double, and triple for a 2-2 tie, and then is taken out of the game. A massive failure when it mattered most.
ReplyDelete2-2 after 7.
ReplyDeleteYankees win another squeaker 3-2. Stanton the offense and hero. Bullpen brilliant once again, with Kahnle earning the win and Weaver the save.
ReplyDeleteYanks win 3-2 and take 2-1 game lead in series. Can take series with a win tomorrow night in KC.
ReplyDeleteYankees win a nailbiter. Stanton rbi double and solo HR the two big hits of the game for Yankees. Schmidt gives up two runs for the only blemish on the pitching ledger for the Yankees. Yanks can take this series tomorrow in KC. KC must win to force a deciding fifth game.
ReplyDeleteDodgers lead Padres 5-0 after five innings.
ReplyDeleteDodgers lead Padres 8-0 thru seven innings.
ReplyDeleteDodgers trounce Padres 8-0 to even series at two. Final game of series tomorrow in LA. Winner goes to NLCS to play Mets, loser goes home.

Four righthanded batters against a lefthanded pitcher, that's a small change.
Detroit leads Cleveland 3-2 after six.
ReplyDeleteYanks lead 1-0 after three.
ReplyDeleteIndians nip Tigers 5-4 to force a winner takes all fifth game back in Cleveland with series even at two games each.
ReplyDeleteSoto, Torres, and Stanton rbi singles have Yankees on top 3-1 after six innings.
ReplyDeleteTheeeeeeeeeeee Yankeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees Winnnnnnnnnn, 3-1.
ReplyDeleteYankees win 3-1and advance to the ALCS to play the winner of the final Detroit/Cleveland game.
ReplyDeleteYankees win 3-1 and advance to the ALCS. Cole gives up 1 run in seven innings for the win. Holmes pitches and easy 8th inning for the hold, and Weaver pitches the 9th inning with no drama and earns the save. Stanton, Torres, and Soto each with a rbi hit for all the offense.
ReplyDeleteSolid outing from Cole tonight. Any start for seven innings and allowing just one run is a great start. Three run producing singles from Soto, Stanton, and Torres for the Yankee runs. And then there is the bullpen, only two innings needed tonight and Holmes and Weaver delivered for the win.
ReplyDeleteBarack HUSSEIN Obama, the terrorist sympathizer and enabler, is joining COMMIE Harris on her "Death to America" campaign trail this final month leading up to election day.
ReplyDeleteVOTE TRUMP-VANCE and all REPUBLICANS. Bury HUSSEIN and COMMIE, the scum.
As of now and barring and rain event delays, the Yankees will open the ALCS against either Detroit or Cleveland on Monday night at home in Yankee Stadium with the second game scheduled for Tuesday night.
ReplyDeleteI would think Rodon will start game one of the ALCS. Hope it calms down and just does his job.
ReplyDeleteDodgers 1 Padres 0 after 3 innings.
ReplyDeleteSix inning pitching duel in LA. Dodgers lead 1-0.
ReplyDeleteFinal. Dodgers win 2-0 and advance to the NLCS. The Dodgers will host the Mets for the first two games in Los Angeles.
ReplyDeleteDetroit Tigers - Cleveland Indians game today has been rescheduled to 1 PM today instead of the original 8 PM start due to weather front moving into Cleveland area. The Yankees will play todays winning team in the ALCS starting Monday in New York.
ReplyDeleteThree innings complete. Detroit and Cleveland scoreless.
ReplyDeleteCleveland scores 5 runs in fifth inning off Tiger phenom ace Skubal and take 5-1 lead after five innings.
ReplyDeleteIndians up 6-3 through seven.
ReplyDeleteCleveland tops Detroit 7-3 and earns a trip to New York to play the Yankees in the ALCS.
ReplyDeleteBummer for me.
Cleveland 7 Detroit 3. Final four teams decided for MLB playoffs. The ALCS and NLCS will be the best of seven series and the two winning teams will play in the World Series.
ReplyDeleteCleveland Indians will play the New York Yankees in the ALCS. New York Mets will play the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NLCS.
OK Yankee fans, the Yanks have move to the next round and will be at home in Yankee Stadium to face the Cleveland Indians Monday night at 7:30 PM. As of now Yanks are determining who will start the game, Schmidt or Rodon. Cole will likely start game two on Tuesday night.
ReplyDeleteThe MLB league championship series are sort of a subway series. The Mets and the Yankees are both playing in the series, but not each other.
ReplyDeleteLets go Yankees
ReplyDeleteThe Indians may have momentum and confidence on their side coming off a big win over the Tigers and a top pitcher, but each series is on its own with a different opponent. Lets go Yankees!
ReplyDeleteYankees still haven't named game one starter. Cole will start game two. Each time will likely need and start at least four different starters. First game Monday night in the Bronx.
ReplyDeleteThe Yankees will start Rodon in game one of the ALCS against Cleveland tomorrow night.
ReplyDeleteWith Rodon and Cole starting games one and two, logically Schmidt and Gil will start games three and four.
ReplyDeleteDodgers have scored early and often, leading the Mets 6-0 after four innings.
ReplyDeleteDodgers destroy Mets 9-0 to take 1-0 lead in their best of seven series. Don't fret Mets fans, it is only one game and the best way to lose any game. Better than losing by 1 or 2 runs. Win tomorrow and the series is even.
ReplyDeleteDodgers beat Mets 9-0 in first game of their NLCS.
ReplyDeleteYankees - Indians game one tonight. LETS GO YANKEES.
ReplyDeleteThe Yankees have added Rizzo and Stroman to the ALCS roster while dropping Rice and Ellis.

ReplyDeleteQuick and very nice turnaround by the Mets. Lose 9-0 yesterday, lead 6-0 after two innings today.
ReplyDeleteMets 6-3 after six. It ain't over.
ReplyDeleteMets even season with Dodgers at one game each with 7-3 win. Head to NY for next three games.
ReplyDelete0-0 after 2.
ReplyDeleteSoto solo HR and Judge scoring on wild pitch followed by Stanton scoring on a wild pitch gives Yankees 3-0 lead after three innings.
ReplyDeleteCole comes up brilliant tonight. Goes six innings allowing just one run on a solo home run. Leaves game leading 4-1.
ReplyDeleteYanks up 4-1 thru six, but I have a bad feeling. Let me be wrong.
ReplyDeleteStanton Ballantine blast gives Yanks 5-1 lead thru seven innings.
ReplyDeleteTheeeeeeeeeeeeeee Yankeeeeeeeeeeeeees Winnnnnnnnnnnn, 5-2.
ReplyDeleteYankees win game one 5-2. Rodo, Holmes and Weaver fantastic for 8 2/3 innings allowing just one run. Hill horrible over 1/3 inning allowing one run. Soto and Stanton each with a solo HR. Yanks score twice on wild pitches and once on Judge rbi sac fly.
ReplyDeleteTaking the first game of a best of seven series is good, then winning the second game is even better. Rodon pitched like a true ace tonight. Calm slowed the game down, and through strikes. His slider was devastating. Rodon got the win and Weaver a five out save, striking out four batters, the first one when it mattered most cleaning up Hicks mess.
ReplyDeleteA win tomorrow would put pressure on Cleveland going home in front of their fans down two games.
ReplyDeleteLets go Yankees. Wash, rinse, REPEAT.
ReplyDeleteIf Cole matches Rodon outing from game one, Yanks should be in good shape for another win.
ReplyDeleteCole tonight. Rizzo looked good at the plate last night, had some good swings.

ReplyDeleteIt is truly amazing. The Yankees are winning and the sniveling, crying, and whining continues ad nauseum at the nyyfansforum. No thanks to the moderators there who encourage sniveling, but God forbid a poster says another poster doesn't know what they are talking about.
ReplyDeleteHow Rodon calmed down, controlled his emotions and dominated game one last night.
ReplyDelete1. Rodon said that he studied how Gerrit Cole handled his ALDS Game 4 start at Kansas City, remarking that the ace right-hander looked “like a robot” until his final inning, when he unleashed a primal scream coming off the mound. That provided a template Rodon aimed to emulate.
2. “Mentally, I was taking notes on how he was going out there and going about it,” Rodon said.
3. Said Cole: “That’s a compliment from Carlos. I appreciate that. I think that’s what we’re all trying to strive to do, is get in the competitive mindset and stay in there as long as we can.”

Yankees using exact same lineup as last night. Haven't seen this in a long time > Cleveland is using eight left handed batters against Cole. Does Tribe manager know something from his time with the Yankees?
The Indian 8 lefthanded lineup scares me. Short right field, and their hitters may go to opposite field a lot. I hope Cole mows them down. Because if he can't, the Indians will use the same lineup against Scmidt and Gil.
ReplyDeleteLets go guys, fly high to Cleveland 2-0.
ReplyDeleteYanks up 3-0 after 2.
ReplyDeleteCole doesn't have his best stuff tonight, but he is grinding and has put up four scoreless innings as Yanks come to bat in bottom of fourth leading 3-0.
ReplyDeleteYanks up 3-0 thru four.
ReplyDeleteCole out of the game in fifth, but not before he gives up 2 runs. Yanks lead now 3-2.
ReplyDeleteCleveland defense is helping the Yankees giving Yankees another run in sixth for a 4-2 lead.

ReplyDeleteYankees win 6-3. Bullpen comes through again, earning the win, holds, and save. Yanks up 2-0 in best of 7 series.
ReplyDeleteCole was off, but kept Yanks in game. Holmes came up big in relief of Cole keeping Yankees in top, and that may have been the turning point in the game. Boone surprisingly used Weaver in the ninth to close out game and Weaver did give up a meaningless run. No reason to use Weaver with a four run lead, but tomorrow is an off day.
ReplyDeleteJudge home run last night a sign of the future. YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS.
ReplyDeleteNo Yankee game today, time to chill, then tomorrow back to business, no let up. WIN!
ReplyDeleteWells last at bat last night, a positive? He pulled two foul lasers done the line and then lined a bullet, but right at the right fielder. Think positive, creates positive results.
ReplyDeleteBeing at home I want my Mets to take at least 2 of 3 from the Dodgers.
ReplyDeleteVery close to a must win tomorrow for Indians. Yankees goal is to stop them from winning.
ReplyDeleteMets trail 2-0 thru three.
ReplyDeleteDodgers 4 Mets 0 after seven innings.
ReplyDeleteDodgers take 2 games to 1 lead over the Mets with an 8-0 win tonight.
ReplyDeleteYankee game is 5 pm today. Don't miss it.
ReplyDeleteTodays Yankee Lineup
ReplyDeleteClarke Schmidt RHP
G Torres (R) 2B
J Soto (L) RF
A Judge (R) CF
G Stanton (R) DH
J Chisholm Jr. (L) 3B
J Berti (R) 1B
A Volpe (R) SS
A Verdugo (L) LF
J Trevino (R) C
Six righthanded Yankee bats today. Berti at first base, Trevino catching. Schmidt to come up with a five or six inning gem?
Giving Rizzo a day off against a lefthander is perfect timing coming after an off day. And giving Wells an off day may be just what he needs, to just watch a game. Wells hasn't contributed offensively but he has contributed spectacularly defensively.
ReplyDeleteLets go Yankees.
ReplyDeleteI can live with the lineup tonight. Schmidt is still the key.
ReplyDeleteTrevino, in his first at bat in his first 2024 playoff game produces when it matters most with a rbi single and a 1-0 mid second inning Yankee lead.
ReplyDeleteYanks up 1-0 after 2.
ReplyDeleteYankees trailing 2-1 thru fifth inning.
ReplyDeleteJudge hits 2 run game tying 3-3 HR in 8th with 2 outs -----|||||||----- followed by Stanton HR for a 4-3 lead. OH MY GOD.
ReplyDeleteThe game isn't over yet, but there is absolutely no question that the Judge and Stanton home runs were the ultimate WIN METHOD 'when it matters most' hits.
ReplyDeleteYanks add insurance run in 9th for 5-3 lead. Need three outs from Weaver.
ReplyDeleteWeaver blows it. With two outs gives up double and home run. 5-5 after nine. Extra innings the real baseball way.
ReplyDeleteThe Yankees lose it in 10th 7-5. Holmes gives up game ending walk off two run homer.
ReplyDeleteSeries now Yankees 2 game Indians 1.
Yanks lose a heart breaker 7-5. Momentum with Cleveland?
ReplyDeletePlease, no one forget, Rizzo misplays that cost the Yankees the game. He came in for defense, which he no longer excels in. He can't move quickly anymore, age has caught up with him.
ReplyDeleteNo matter how you look at it. This was one heck of a great game. A MLB epic of real extra inning baseball that Rob Manfraud has robbed baseball fans of. May he soon RIP.
ReplyDeleteONLY ONE PROBLEM, the wrong team won the game.
Mets down 5-2 after five.
ReplyDeleteDodgers trounce Met 10-2 last night and take a commanding 3 games to 1 lead in the NLCS. Game five tonight. Must win game for Mets.
ReplyDeleteNeed a bounce back win tonight.
ReplyDeleteGil, in the biggest game of his career tonight, starts for Yanks.
ReplyDeleteMets aren't giving up, lead Dodgers 11-6 after six.
ReplyDeleteToday Yankee Lineup
ReplyDeleteLuis Gil RHP
G Torres (R) 2B
J Soto (L) RF
A Judge (R) CF
J Chisholm Jr. (L) 3B
G Stanton (R) DH
A Rizzo (L) 1B
A Volpe (R) SS
A Wells (L) C
A Verdugo (L) LF
Need a win or the series becomes a two of three series.
Mets win 12-6. Send series back to LA for game six. Another must win game for the Mets.
ReplyDeleteYanks up 3-1 after 2.
ReplyDeleteStanton three run home run in sixth gives Yankees 6-2 lead and still batting.
ReplyDelete6-6 after 8. Bullpen and Rizzo have been a disaster.
