YANKEE 2024 MLB SEASON -- 162 games to the playoffs

The New York YANKEES  start their 2024 season today.  They start the season with their best pitcher, Gerrit Cole, on the DL (disabled list) and their starting third baseman, DJ LeMahieu also on the DL.  It is estimated that Cole will be out of action for about two months, and LeMahieu out for anywhere from  two weeks to two months.  There are also several other players who will start the season on the DL.

The ultimate goal for the YANKEES is to win the World Series.  There are many thresholds that must be met just to get to the World Series.  Every threshold is met in only one way, WINS.  Wins is the only stat that determines the best players and the best teams in baseball.  Over the 162 game season the teams who win their division will move on to the playoffs, and the next teams in each league with the most wins will also go on to the playoffs.  The playoffs then start and only the teams that WIN each round move forward towards the World Series.
Any team that loses any round is finished for the season.  Only WINS determines which teams move forward, until only one team in each league is left, and they will be the two teams who will meet in the World Series to determine which team and their players are the best in baseball. No players individual stats mean a thing on which players and teams reach the World Series.  Learn this fans, if you haven't already or if you are new to baseball, only WINS determines which players are and which team is the World Champions of baseball, by winning the World Series.

The YANKEES have upgraded their lineup and roster significantly by adding Juan Soto, Alex Verdugo, and Marcus Stroman to the team for the 2024 season.  Anthony Volpe will be in his second season and still on the improve.  Austin Wells, a promising youngster, has been added to the catching ranks. The YANKEES, will be looking for help from several young pitchers until their 'ace' Cole returns to the starting rotation.

In other news, this blog, the WIN METHOD YANKEE baseball blog, will break two billion views in the next several months.  The WIN METHOD blog is the number one YANKEE baseball blog in the world with readers and contributors of opinions from all around the world.  Yes, 2,000,000,000 views, from all over the world.  Thank you all, wherever you are from for your viewership and your opinions.

As the season begins, lets all get behind and support our team, the New York YANKEES, and their run to the World Series.  It will not be easy, there are thirty teams with the same goal.

Again, thank you everyone, for making the WIN METHOD what it is today, the best blog, forum, or site in the world, just as you all are, the best in the world readers and posters.

  8. Not a good start for Cortes and Yankees. Yanks down 4-0 after 3 1/2 innings. Yanks have bases loaded twice.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Cabrera hits Yankees first home run of season for a 4-4 tie in top of 6th.

  10. Theeeeeeeeeeee Yankeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees Winnnnnnnnnnn 5-4.

  11. Final. Yankees win 5-4. Rough start for Cortes giving up 4 runs in first 2 innings. But, that was the only runs Yankee pitching gave up for the rest of the game. The Yankees scored 3 times in the 5th and 1 run in the 6th and 7th inning, then held on for the win. Cortes went 5 innings allowing only the 4 runs. Loaisiga went 2 scoreless innings earning the win. Hamilton 1 inning and 0 runs earning a hold and Holmes closed it out in the 9th to earn the save because Soto threw the would be tying run out at home plate. Soto, Rizzlo, Volpe, Verdugo, and Cabrera all with an rbi for the win. Cabrera rbi was a home run. The Yankees squandered bases loaded chance several times early in the game where a hit or two could have made the game a blowout. No matter, a win is a win.

  12. That was one heck of a game. Always nice to win, especially coming from 4 runs down. The game had everything, very exciting an turned into a nail biter.

  13. It's always nice to win the first game of a series.

She was not allowed entrance to the wake and was asked to leave. People are waking up, we can only hope. The liberal democrats must be crushed. You can help crush them with your votes. Vote only for conservative republicans.

  21. Yanks down 1-0 after 4.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Yanks with 2 in 7th for a 2-1 lead and 4 more in 8th for 6-1. Everyone contributing by Judge. That's ok, he'll have his day's.

  23. Sweet 7-1 win tonight with the bottom of the order 7,8,& 9 hitters doing all the damage. Very nice to see.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Final. Yankees win 7-1. They were down 1-0 after six innings. Rodon went 4 1/3 allowing just 1 run, but worked hard to just allow the 1 run. They bullpen was flawless the final 4 2/3 innings. In order, Burdi 2/3, Weaver 1 1/3 and the win, Gonzalez 1 and a hold, Ferguson 1 1/3 and hold, Beeter 1 and by rule no save. Now for the offense, Soto 3-4 and an rbi, Stanton 1-5 a solo HR in 9th for a meaningless run, Volpe 1-4 scored 2 and a rbi, Wells o-3 but scored 2 and a rbi, then the big guy from the nine hole, Cabrera 4-5 and 3 rbi's. Judge 0-5 hitting into another double play with the bases loaded. Possible injury to look out for, Torres hit by pitch, stayed in to run and then took himself out of the game in the bottom of the inning. Hit on right hand and was in pain. Nonetheless, a very nice win.

    ReplyDelete
  25. 2-0 with 2 more games to play, what a start to the season if we can win one more.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Reminds a little like the 98 Yanks, with any part of the lineup a threat all through each game.

    ReplyDelete
  27. 'It's just two games' -- but it's two great games for Cabrera.
Just in his second year Cabrera keys Yanks' second straight win with first four-hit game of career.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Torres was hit on right thumb by pitch in last nights game. X-rays showed no break. See if he gets day off today.

  29. Todays Yankee Lineup.

    G Torres (R) 2B
    J Soto (L) RF
    A Judge (R) DH
    A Rizzo (L) 1B
    A Verdugo (L) LF
    A Volpe (R) SS
    A Wells (L) C
    O Cabrera (S) 3B
    T Grisham (L) CF

Torres in after HBP yesterday. Stanton out, Judge DH, Grisham in CF. Six lefty bats.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Yanks down 2-1 after 3.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Stroman goes 6 innings and leaves down 3-1. He threw over 100 pitches and was very strong. He allowed no earned runs as Houston scored all 3 runs on Yankee errors.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Final. Yankees win 5-3. Cabrera again. Two run homer in 7th ties game at 3 all. Soto solo HR in 7th for 4-3 lead, and Volpe solo HR in 8th for insurance run and 5-3 lead. Yankee scored their first run on a Houston error.
Stroman with a very solid game giving up 3 runs over six full innings. All 3 runs were allowed by the Yankee defense. Stroman earned the win. Yankee bullpen was great again. Hamilton pitched the 7th and 8th innings, six up and six down earning a hold. Holmes closed it out in the 9th easily and earned the save. Yankees win this four game series winning the first three game and will play for the four game sweep tomorrow.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Yankees win third straight to open season coming from behind again for a 5-3 win.

The bad news, LeMahieu underwent more X-rays and this time the doctors found a small fracture in his right foot, and LeMahieu who was already on the DL, will be out indefinitely.

  40. 3-3 thru seven innings. Loaisiga gives us three hits in sixth in relief of Schmidt allowing 2 inherited runners to score. Poor effort from Loaisiga.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Thheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Yankeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees Winnnnnnnnnnnn 4-3, sweep 4 game series.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Yankees hang tough for a 4-3 win as bullpen goes 4 2/3 innings of shutout ball, barely. The win is all that counts.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Final. Yankees win 4-3. Nail biter, sweep opening four game series in Houston. Schmidt goes 5 1/3 innings giving up 3 run on 7 hits. Loaisiga goes 1 ineffective inning allowing 3 hits and a walk that allowed 2 inherited runners to score and Houston to tie game at 3 all. Ferguson goes 1 strong shutout innings. Burdi goes 2/3 inning very strong and earns the win. Holmes in for the 9th, gives up singles to the first two batter, gets hit hard and them saves the game ONLY because of his defense. Berti saves the game with a diving stop down the third base line and scrambles to step on third base for a force out. Holmes gets the second out on a deep fly ball to Judge in centerfield. Then Veedugo races in and towards the left field line to make a sliding catch for the third out and the win. Holmes gets the save, his third of the series. The offense, was and rbi single by Trevino, and rbi single by Berti, a sac fly rbi from Judge, and the game winning rbi single by Soto in the 9th when it mattered most.

  46. The breaks are going the Yankees way, it seems. Or can you attribute success to creating your own breaks?

    ReplyDelete
  47. I was excited when they got Cole, but he's on a rotation and you don't see him everyday. It's great with Juan Soto you tune the game in and you make sure you pay attention when he's up at bat !
It's exciting to have one of the best players in baseball on the New York Yankees!!!
It kind of reminds me when they got Alex Rodriguez.

  48. fvkw, welcome to the WIN METHOD blog. Sorry to hear you think Soto reminds you of afraud, that is what we call him here. He was a cancer to the team, playing for himself and his own stats. You may want to read the blog posts created by WIN METHOD. There are seventy as of now.

    ReplyDelete
  49. fvkw, first of all, afraud was not a WIN METHOD player. afraud was skell. He made every team he played on worse, and that is a documented verified fact. Did you post on some other sites? Every other site is garbage compared to this one.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I hope Gil does well, the starting rotation needs a shot on the arm.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Yankees take 2-0 lead after two innings.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Gil with a great start. Goes 4 2/3 innings allowing 1 run on 1 hit and striking out 6. Leaves with a 5-1 lead, but will get a no decision.

Yankees start season with fifth win in a row, 5-2 over Arizona Diamondbacks.

    ReplyDelete
  57. So far so good. 5-2 win. Wins and winning are the only way to get to the playoffs.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Final. Yankees win 5-2. Gil goes 4 2/3 innings, 1 run 1 hit 3 walks and 6 K's. Weaver goes 2 1/3 innings, 1 run 1 hit 1walk and earns the win. Weaver is the first Yankee reliever to allow a run in the five games. Burdi with a 1,2,3 8th inning with 1K for the hold. Gozalez closes it out allowing 1 hit in the 9th for the save. Offense in order, Cabrera (again) rbi single, Torres rbi double, Volpe rbi single, Wells rbi sacfly, and 1 run on error.

Gil is still learning how to pitch, and is young, but he has the demeanor and the stuff to become a star.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Nice to see the Yankees live, and win.

  60. Nice win last night. Weaver sure is a nice gritty little guy, some contrast to the flame throwers.

  68. Looks like Yankee win streak is done. Trail 7-0 after 8. Had to happen sooner or later.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Final. Yankees lose 7-0. Never in it. Only had 3 hits. Cortes went 5 innings giving up 3 first inning runs and takes the loss. Gonzalez gives up 2 runs over 1 inning and Cousins allows 2 runs in 2 innings. That's all folks.
Rubber game of series tomorrow afternoon.

  73. Yankees lead 2-1 after four on Judge two run home run. First of season.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Yanks up 2-1 after 4.

    ReplyDelete
  75. 2-2 thru nine. Extra innings, Verdugo 2 run homer in 10th for a 4-2 lead. Holmes in to try for the save.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Holmes gives up 2 run in bottom of 10th for a 4-4 tie. Not his fault, bad luck aided by Volpe error the issue. On to the 11th.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Yankees score twice in the tenth and so do the Dbacks. 4-4 and more little league extra innings.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Theeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Yankeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees Winnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn. 6-5 in 11 innings.

    ReplyDelete
  79. One hell of a nerve racking win. The last two innings were stomach churning. Boone out managed the Dbacks. The Dbacks had to let a pitcher bat in the last of the 11th, having used up all their players. He struck out for the Yankee win.

    ReplyDelete
  80. I feel your angst Yank2ee fans.

Final. Yankees win 6-5 in 11 innings. A 2-2 game after 9 innings, 7 runs were scored in the 10th and 11th innings. Rodon a decent game. 5 1/3 innings giving up 2 runs. Hamilton 2 2/3 brilliant innings, Loaisiga 1 excellent inning, Holmes 1 1/3 innings allowing 3 runs, got a blown save and earned the win, none of it his fault. Ferguson 2/3 solid inning for the save. Offense Judge 2 run HR and rbi double for the game winning hit. Verdugo a 2 run HR which should of been the game winner. Other run scored on a balk.

  93. Scoreless after five, pitchers duel. Stanton should not be in lineup.

    ReplyDelete
  94. Final. Yankees lose 3-0. Can't win without runs. Stroman went six scoreless innings and was sharp again. Bullpen loses it. Ferguson takes loss giving up HR to first batter he faced in the 7th. Santana gives up 2 runs in 9th. Yankee offense non existent today, but in the 9th inning after two outs and no one on, Rizzo single, Volpe single brings tying run to plate in Verdugo, who misses by a hair, hitting first pitch to the warning track in right center. Almost. This loss is on the offense. Too much time off yesterday?

    ReplyDelete
  95. Yep! No offense. Soto two straight games 0-9 is cooling after his red hot start, that could be expected. On the other hand, Stanton, now frozen in place after his ice cold start.

    ReplyDelete
  96. A good game today. I expected to win all the way through, even after Ferguson giving up the HR in the 7th. Didn't give up after allowing the 2 runs in the 9th. After two outs in the bottom of 9th, I thought, that's it. Then Rizzo singles, ok, now if Volpe can get on, and Volpe is looking like the reincarnation of Jeter, he singles, instant thought, Verdugo facing a righty, can launch one and tie it up. Almost, so close but yet so far. Just, by a hair got under the pitch, a launched the third out to the track in right center.

    ReplyDelete
  97. I had high hopes for today, but they were quashed by being shutout.

    ReplyDelete
  98. Have to win the last two game of this series in order to win series.

Loaisiga was placed on the 60-day DL earlier this week with a right flexor strain. Loaisiga will miss the remainder of the 2024 season. He won’t undergo a full Tommy John surgery, but has been diagnosed with a torn UCL in his right elbow. He’s expected to miss roughly 10-12 months following the procedure.

    ReplyDelete
  102. Judge two run home run and Stanton solo home run give Yanks 3-0 first inning lead.

    ReplyDelete
  103. Yanks add 3 more in 2nd for 6-0 lead. Just have to hope Schmidt doesn't do anything stupid.

    ReplyDelete
  104. Yanks leading 9-5 thru seven.

    ReplyDelete
  105. What a nightmare. Up 6-0 early, Yanks sweat out a 9-8 win going down to the last out.

    ReplyDelete
  106. Final. Yankees win 9-8. Not good. Schmidt staked to a 6-0 lead after two innings, only goes 4 1/3 innings giving up 2 runs throwing 91 pitches and doesn't earn what should have been an easy win. Weaver goes 2 innings giving up 3 runs and earns the win. Gonzalez went 1 1/3 and gave up 0 runs, thank heavens, Hamilton goes 2/3 inning and gives up 3 runs, Holmes gets the last out for the save. Yankee offense Judge and Rizzo each with a 2 run HR and Stanton with a solo HR. Soto 2 rbi's, Torres a rbi, and a run scored on a wild pitch. Poor game from the bullpen which was much used.

    ReplyDelete
  107. Hope the bats score tomorrow, with the bullpen decimated. Gil is starting. Maybe five complete innings? Then what? Stanton showed life tonight. Hit the ball hard with three hits.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  111. Three innings in books. Stanton grand slam has Yankees on top 5-1.

    ReplyDelete
  112. Yanks up 6-3 after 6.

    ReplyDelete
  113. Theeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Yankeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees Winnnnnnnnnnnnn 8-3. Take another series.

    ReplyDelete
  114. Final. Yankees win 8-3. Gil was very good with one awful inning. Went 4 1/3 innings throwing 95 pitches, giving up 2 runs. Patched together bullpen stepped up and did a fine job. Cousins went 1 inning giving up 1 run and earned the win. Burdi 2/3 no runs and a hold, Ferguson 1 1/3 no runs and a hold, Santana 1 2/3 no runs and earned the save. Stanton has awakened, grand slam HR. Soto, Rizzo, and Cabrera each with an ribi, and 1 run on a wild pitch. Volpe with another sparkling game, 3-4 scoring 2 runs, 2 stolen bases, and strong defense.

    ReplyDelete
  115. If the Yankees keep scoring many runs each game, it will cover shortages in the pitching staff. Who and how produces is not as important as winning games.

    ReplyDelete
  116. A win is a win. 8-2 in first ten games. Good start to season. Marlins in next at the Stadium for three game series. Cortes, Rodon, and Stroman listed as starters for the good guys.

    ReplyDelete
  117. Looking for six innings of two run or less pitching from Cortes tomorrow night.

    ReplyDelete
  118. The Marlins won their first game yesterday after nine losses. Hope they don't go on a win streak now.

    ReplyDelete
  119. Biden needs to be crushed. He is a criminal who is deliberately destroying the United States of America. I am 17 years old and I hate him for what he has done.

    ReplyDelete
  120. ECLIPSE!!!!

    J Soto (L) RF
    A Judge (R) CF
    G Stanton (R) DH
    A Rizzo (L) 1B
    A Volpe (R) SS
    A Verdugo (L) LF
    J Trevino (R) C
    J Berti (R) 3B

So far after ten games this season, the Yankees have eclipsed what many fans were expecting of them.

    ReplyDelete
  122. Dustin Howell, for being just 17 years old, you are pretty wise and smart, keep on learning and help same America from people like Biden, the joe-bama/commie MALADY administration, and the not so smart people who support them.

    ReplyDelete
  123. Guy Padikian,😊 funny, you got the Yankees and the eclipse in your comment.

    ReplyDelete
  124. Volpe and Soto each with a three run home run in fourth for a 6-0 Yankee lead.

    ReplyDelete
  125. Yanks up 7-0 after 6.

    ReplyDelete
  126. Lee King, how about eight innings from Cortes with 0 runs and 2 hits for the win. Gives the bullpen a major rest.

    ReplyDelete
  127. Final. Yankees win 7-0. No long commentary needed, Cut and dry two hour game. Cortes, 8 innings, 0 runs, 2 hits, 0 walks for the win. Burdi a 1,2,3 9th. Volpe and Soto 3 run HRs, Verdugo rbi single. That's all folks.

    ReplyDelete
  128. Lee King, Cortes eclipsed your hopes. There was a lot of eclipses today. Fun game. I guess the guys wanted to be on time for the start of the college basketball championship game.

  129. MAGA 2024 wake up AmericaApril 8, 2024 at 9:47 PM

As America's enemies chant 'Death to America', Joe Biden, the joe-bama/commie MALADY administration, and their supporters join our enemies, and chime right in 'Death to America'.

Wake up voters, wake up. Make America Great Again. Our chant 'USA, USA, USA, USA, USA'.

    ReplyDelete
  130. Rodon tomorrow.

MAGA 2024 wake up America, I am afraid the left wing bottom feeders have more filth and tricks up their sleeve, They will lie, cheat, and steal, anyway they can. Wonder how many of the illegal criminals who entered the country since Biden took over will be voting? Millions?

    ReplyDelete
  131. If Rodon throws strikes, now reason who should not be able to go seven strong innings tonight. Marlins are off to a horrible start. Baseball is a sport for the fans, and an occupation/career for the players. Do not let up on a team just because they are down, beat them every chance you get.

    ReplyDelete
  132. coryankee, there may only 1 out of 100 liberal democrats with an ounce of integrity. Don't trust them and don't vote for them. They will look you in the eye and lie to you, and then when you turn your back they will stab you.

Lets take a look at this issue, and lets use the number one WIN METHOD tool, common sense.

Pitchers are hurting their arms more frequently, or so it appears, recently. What has really changed in the past couple of years. Pitchers throwing hard, pitchers trying to put more spin on each pitch, pitchers contorting their arms to un-natural extremes? Or is it the pitch clock?

I am sure, for an individual pitcher it could be any of the first three issues. However, I think the pitch clock may be the biggest culprit. The pitch clock affects every single pitcher.

Use this scenario logically. How many jumping-jacks can you do, or how many push-ups can you do right now in a minute. For each person the result would be different and tiring to do as many as you can in a minute. Now, lets say, how many can you do in five minutes and not get tired. I bet, every person asked will be able to do more jumping-jacks and or push-ups in five minutes easily. And then still be able to do more.

The pitch clock, in baseball, forces pitchers to throw the ball more often, faster. Less time for the arm to recover between each pitch. Thus, creating more stress on the arm, and thus creating more injuries. I rest my case. Common sense. >> Save arms, ban the pitch clock.

  134. Todays Yankee Lineup

    Carlos Rodón LHP

    G Torres (R) 2B
    J Soto (L) RF
    A Judge (R) CF
    G Stanton (R) DH
    A Rizzo (L) 1B
    A Volpe (R) SS
    A Verdugo (L) LF
    J Berti (R) 3B
    A Wells (L) C

One day at a time, one game at a time, one win at a time. One series at a time. WINS and only wins determine the best players and the best teams.

    ReplyDelete
  135. Going back to last nights game. Volpe was called on strikes two times and he was very upset about, and yelling at the home plate ump, "that was two times". Both times, the called 3rd strike was no where near the strike zone. About time for the invisible umpire. As long as they adjust the strike zone for every individual batter. But it has to be done right and without bugs. No excuses.

    ReplyDelete
  136. Verdugo solo HR in 2nd. 1-0 Yanks.

    ReplyDelete
  137. Yanks up 1-0 after 4.

    ReplyDelete
  138. Theeeeeeeeeeeee Yankeeeeeeeeeeeeeees Winnnnnnnnnnnnnnn 3-2.

    ReplyDelete
  139. Final. Yankees win 3-2. Yankee runs, Verdgo home run. Stanton rbi double, Soto rbi single. Rodon goes six shutout innings, buries himself in seventh loading the bases with no outs. Hamilton comes in and gets the three outs but 2 runs score charged to Rodon. Rodon final line 6+ inning 2 runs and earns the win. Big time hold from Hamilton with shutout 7th and 8th. Holmes 1,2,3 9th for another save. Game was close because Yanks couldn't drop the hammer failing when it mattered most to score several more runs. But still did enough to win.

Four series played four series won and a chance for a sweep tomorrow with Stroman starting.

    ReplyDelete
  141. Playing for a second series sweep of the season today. Lets go Yanks.

    ReplyDelete
  142. Stroman has started two games and hasn't given up a run yet. Today is game three, can he keep the goose eggs going.

    ReplyDelete
  143. Yankee roster move. LHP Josh Maciejewski signed to a MLB contract and place on the active roster. Optioned RHP Jake Cousins to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Looks to be a positive addition and subtraction.

    ReplyDelete
  144. Todays Yankee Lineup

    Marcus Stroman RHP

    A Volpe (R) SS
    J Soto (L) RF
    A Judge (R) CF
    G Stanton (R) DH
    A Rizzo (L) 1B
    G Torres (R) 2B
    A Verdugo (L) LF
    J Berti (R) 3B
    J Trevino (R) C

Volpe and Torres flipflopped. Playing for a series sweep.

    ReplyDelete
  145. The Marlins in this series will have started three left handed pitchers. Very unusual.

    ReplyDelete
  146. Stroman has nothing tonight and gives up four runs in third. Plenty of time for Yankees to come back.

    ReplyDelete
  147. Stanton HR in 6th gives Yankees their first run. Trail 4-1.

    ReplyDelete
  148. Final. Yankees lose 5-2. Stroman takes the loss allowing 4 runs over five innings. Stanton solo HR and Soto rbi double for the Yankee runs. Massive failure of producing when it mattered most by most of the team, particularly Judge who looked terrible and worse when it mattered most. Off day tomorrow and then on to Cleveland for a weekend three game series with the Indians. Yes, the Indians. Not the woke garbage.

    ReplyDelete
  149. When I say the lineup, I thought oh no. Why the meaningless flipflop of Torres and Volpe? So, what do we wind up with, a loss. When your winning, go with the flow, until you lose.

    ReplyDelete
  150. I hate losing, always have and always will.

    ReplyDelete
  151. Stroman was not sharp and he walked too many batters, but the one three run HR pitch did him in. If not for that he would have only given up one run. The bats were the Yankees biggest problem tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  152. Schmidt, Gil, Cortes scheduled starters for Cleveland series.

    ReplyDelete
  153. Off day as Yanks travel to Cleveland. Another series to try to keep series win streak going. Lets go Yankees.

    ReplyDelete
  154. The Yankees headed on a road trip after a loss may be a good thing, to wake them up, and just not assume any game will be a win. I would think the Tribe is waiting to take some scalps.
    ⬆️ ⬆️ ⬆️ ⬆️ ⬆️
I can only hope my comment offends the scum of America.

    ReplyDelete
  155. Geronimo Wyatt, no problem, I agree with you. Anyone woke, is a dope, who becomes a joke.
    Lets go Yankees.

    ReplyDelete
  156. Anyone offended by Geronimo's post is a liberal progressive democrat credent.

    ReplyDelete
  157. If Schmidt attacks hitters maybe he can go 6 or 7 good innings.

    ReplyDelete
  158. Start off on the right foot, win todays game one of the weekend series. Move forward.

    ReplyDelete
  159. Schmidt is an enigma, he has the arsenal of pitches, but hasn't seemed to figure out the formula to consistent success.

    ReplyDelete
  160. Save America. Vote TRUMP & conservative republican.

    ReplyDelete
  161. Yanks rained out tonight. Split doubleheader tomorrow at noon and six pm.

    ReplyDelete
  162. Because of tonite's rainout, Gil is being bumped, with Schmidt and Poteet starting the split double header.

    ReplyDelete
  163. How many of the big bats will Boone play in both games tomorrow?

    ReplyDelete
  164. Todays Yankee Lineup Game One

    Clarke Schmidt RHP

    A Volpe (R) SS
    J Soto (L) RF
    A Judge (R) DH
    A Rizzo (L) 1B
    G Torres (R) 2B
    A Verdugo (L) LF
    O Cabrera (S) 3B
    J Trevino (R) C
    T Grisham (L) CF

Stanton out, Judge DH, Cabrera back in thank God. We will see if the Torres/Volpe flipflop gives Yanks a better result today.

    ReplyDelete
  165. Yanks up 1-0 after 2.3

    ReplyDelete
  166. In 5th inning and Yankees have had nothing but massive failures producing when it matters most. Lead 1-0, but could easily 4,5,6 - 0.

    ReplyDelete
  167. Thank God, Cabrera two run in 6th for 3-0 lead. He is a solid bat that can play any position.

    ReplyDelete
  168. Torres again. Error gives Indians 2 runs. 3-2 Yankees thru 6.

    ReplyDelete
  169. Final. Yankees win 3-2 on Cabrera two run home run, with the other run scoring on bases loaded double play grounder. The Yankee lineup failed multiple times with runners in scoring position, thus allowing the game to go down to the last out. Schmidt went 5+ innings allowing both Indian runs, and earned the win. Ferguson went 1 scoreless inning for a hold. Hamilton went 2 scoreless innings for a hold, and Holmes worked the final scoreless inning for a save.
Game two coming up at six o'clock. Hope the bats produce when it matters most.

    ReplyDelete
  170. The win is all that counts. How you get is only record and score keeping. Now let's win the second game.

    ReplyDelete
  171. Todays Yankee Lineup Game Two

    Cody Poteet RHP

    A Volpe (R) SS
    J Soto (L) RF
    A Judge (R) CF
    A Rizzo (L) 1B
    G Stanton (R) DH
    G Torres (R) 2B
    A Verdugo (L) LF
    O Cabrera (S) 3B
    A Wells (L) C

Lets score some runs and give Poteet some leeway.

    ReplyDelete
  172. Game two, first inning, will mention no names. first five batters reach base, 2-0 bases loaded. Sixth batter K's and seventh batter hits into double play. This game could have been over in the first inning.

    ReplyDelete
  173. Yanks up 2-0 after 2.

    ReplyDelete
  174. So to 3 run homer in 4th puts Yanks up 6-0.

    ReplyDelete
  175. Potent comes up big. Goes six innings allowing just one run, leaving the game with an 8-1 lead, and in line for the win.

    ReplyDelete
  176. Theeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Yankeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees Winnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn 8-2.

    ReplyDelete
  177. Final. Yankees win 8-2. Poteet goes six innings for the win giving up 1 run. Santana with a scoreless 7th and 8th. Marinaccio give up 1 in 9th to close out game. Working down the lineup, Volpe rbi single, Soto 3 run HR, Rizzo rbi single, Stanton rbi walk, Cabrera rbi double, and Wells sacfly for all the Yankee runs. Yankees have clinched this series, their fifth of the season, and will play for a series sweep tomorrow with Cortes starting.

    ReplyDelete
  178. Six guys with RBI's, nice.

    ReplyDelete
  179. They Yanks are not firing on all cylinders, yet they are still winning. Keep it going tomorrow and sweep this series.

    ReplyDelete
  180. I really enjoyed the Yankees spilt double header yesterday. Had breakfast in the morning, knocked out a couple of chores, watched the noon game, made and ate dinner, watched the six o'clock game, watched a movie, and then it was bed time. Perfect day, with two Yankee wins, two good meals, and a movie.

    ReplyDelete
  181. Israel attacked by Iran and Iran's proxies last night. Not good.

    ReplyDelete
  182. Todays Yankee Lineup

    Nestor Cortes LHP

    A Volpe (R) SS
    J Soto (L) RF
    A Judge (R) CF
    G Stanton (R) DH
    A Rizzo (L) 1B
    G Torres (R) 2B
    A Verdugo (L) LF
    J Trevino (R) C
    O Cabrera (S) 3B

Playing for a series sweep. Would be nice.

    ReplyDelete
  183. Judge not doing much so far. He needs to be a much more better Judge and contribute when it counts most.

    ReplyDelete
  184. 5-5 after 9. Onto extra innings.

    ReplyDelete
  185. Yankees blow it in tenth, lose 8-7.

    ReplyDelete
  186. Final. Yankees lose 8-7 in ten innings. Cortes not good today, blowing a 3-0 lead and only lasted into the fifth inning allowing 4 runs and left with a 4-4 tie. Burdi one inning no runs, Gonzalez 1 1/3 innings no runs, Weaver 1 2/3 innings allowing 1 run. Holmes 1 inning 0 runs and left with a 7-5 lead. Ferguson in for the 10th and a save try, gives up 3 runs and blows the game. Seven run offense was all washed away in the tenth inning. Tough game to lose.

    ReplyDelete
  187. On to Toronto for the next series.

    ReplyDelete
  188. Three game series starting tonight in Toronto, Gil. Rodon. Stroman starting for Yankees.

    ReplyDelete
  189. Everyone should have the right to protest. Caveat, when a protestor by way of their protest takes away the rights of other citizens, the protestor must be executed.

    ReplyDelete
  190. Wes Quntrail, come on now, this is Bidens America. The bad guys get away with murder, the good guys go to jail. Biden won't do a thing to help the American people.

    ReplyDelete
  191. Todays Yankee Lineup

    Luis Gil RHP

    A Volpe (R) SS
    J Soto (L) RF
    A Judge (R) DH
    A Rizzo (L) 1B
    G Torres (R) 2B
    A Verdugo (L) LF
    O Cabrera (S) 3B
    A Wells (L) C
    T Grisham (L) CF

    Stanton out. Six lefty bats.

    ReplyDelete
  192. To put it simply, Biden is one despicable human being.

    ReplyDelete
  193. About time for Gil to earn a win.

    ReplyDelete
  194. Gil struggling big time. Over 70 pitches in 3 innings and down 3-1.

    ReplyDelete
