WIN METHOD 2017 SEASON - INJURIES - PERSEVERANCE - BLOOM AND GROW

Hello WIN METHOD  fans.  This season, as so many youngsters bloom and grow, has had far too many downs.  To be contending for the division title with all the injuries our players and team have sustained is remarkable and displays the character of our players and team.  We will overcome no matter what is thrown at us.

The 2017 disabled list (DL) has included Gary Sanchez, Greg Bird, Tyler Austin, Starlin Castro, Didi Gregorius, Aaron Hicks, Jacoby Ellsbury, Matt Holiday, CC Sabathia, Adam Warren, Aroldis Chapman, James Kaprielian, Gleyber Torres, Clarke Schmidt, and Dustin Fowler.   Several of these players have had their season ended.   For a few of these men recovery will take many months and they can only look forward to 2018.   The others can still contribute this season.  I just want to give a special shout out to Dustin Fowler whose injury may be the most devastating.   I have had a special liking for Dustin for a long time now and I will pray for his healing, full recovery, and return to the YANKEES in 2018.

It is truly hard to believe, that with all the injuries, this team is still right in the thick of the pennant race.   The character of these WIN METHOD players is their crutch, the attitude they display when challenged with adversity is magnificent.
They play with one goal, for the TEAM to WIN.  Everyone contributes, and they win or lose as a team.   The goal is always the playoffs and beyond, in the past, now, and in the future.   These WIN METHOD men will fight to the end.

With every setback, the door of opportunity opens for another player.   Hopefully another youngster will race through the door and seize the chance before they expected.

As WIN METHOD fans, unquestionably the smartest and most knowledgeable baseball fans in the world, we support or team, ownership, management, players, and coaches.   We don't whine and cry, and we don't criticize and blame.
We leave that to, yes you guessed it, the stat fraud losers of the world.

There is most of the season left to play and we will persevere, playing the best we can.   We will continue to bloom and grow.  The draft was wonderful and the WIN METHOD got what it wanted in several draftees.   Our number one selection will be something to look forward to.  LETS GO YANKEES.

  9. My best to Fowler and all the other ailing Yankees.

    ReplyDelete
  10. I wonder if any other team in the history of baseball has had these many injuries to so many players in one season.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Fowler is in good spirits. He said he was told surgery was a success and he would be out about 5 to 6 months.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Good news from the horses mouth.

  14. What a feather in the cap it would be for WIN METHOD and the Yankees if the team makes the playoffs this season.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Andujar back on Yankee 25 man roster and is in Houston.

    ReplyDelete
  16. The Yankees trail 1-0 after two innings of play.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Yanks down 3-1 after 5.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Yankees score five two out runs in 6th and four two out runs in 7th on Gardner grand slam to take 10-3 lead over Astros. Pineda went six acceptable innings. Mitchell in for a 1,2, 3 7th. 10-3 Yanks after 7.

    ReplyDelete
  19. 10-3 Yankees thru 7.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Mitchell closes out win with solid three innings. Yanks win 13-4.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Final...Yanks win big 13-4.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Big win tonite against the team with the best record in baseball for the first half of this season so far.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Can only hope last night was not a one game wonder, but that it was the start of a good run of winning baseball.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Monty tonight. At least we are not playing from behind this series. Lets win it.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Nice blog post WIN METHOD. You sure have built a juggernaut of a farm system. Hope everything blooms and grows and comes to fruition.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Frazier also has been called up from AAA Scranton.

    ReplyDelete
  27. The Yankees can't keep everyone on the 25 man roster. Eventually Castro, Holiday, etc will get back.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Todd, true, but all our talent gives management options plus it fosters competition for playing time, thus hopefully driving performance. Performance when it counts is needed before individual stats is the key. Performance when it counts creates wins.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Pitchers usually take more time yo bloom and grow. Montgomery has reached the top level, bot he is still learning and developing. So far so good. Earn a win tonight Monty.

    7. Austin Romine (R) C
    8. Chris Carter (R) 1B
    9. Clint Frazier (R) RF
Another first timer for Yankees today. In right field Clint Frazier as Judge gets day off.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I'd almost rather see Judge at 1b even thou he has never played there. Still, he does need day off once in a while.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Everyone gets their chance to contribute. That is what team is about. The stat frauds have no idea about that.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Yanks fall behind 2-0 after 5.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Yanks score five times in top of sixth, four on Gregorius grand slam for 5-2 lead.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Yanks up 5-3 after 6.

    ReplyDelete
  36. sid greenberg,nycJuly 1, 2017 at 9:49 PM

Frazier leads off 7th with his MLB HR. WIN METHOD must be in seventh heaven.

    ReplyDelete
  37. After Chad Green pitches the 6th and 7th scoreless innings. In comes Betances for the 8th and stinks beyond belief. Chapman now in with men on 1st and 3rd and 2 outs. Betances has already allowed 2 runs to cut the Yankee lead to 6-5 and both runners are his responsibility.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Chapman gives up a double and Yanks down 7-6. Betances and Chapman have killed the Yankees so far this season. The a K for 3rd out after the damage done.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Yankees go down 1.2.3 by Houston closer. Another dreadful one run heartbreaking loss.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Final, devastating loss 7-6.

    ReplyDelete
  41. It is hard to believe that Betances and Chapman can choke so often. Betances still can't hold a runner and a runner in a wheel chair can steal a base every time on him.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I was hoping the losing this way was over. Losing late inning games because of the bullpen is killing us.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Ten one run losses in June. Take two meaningless runs from several of our blowout wins and give them to just five of those ten losses and look where we would be in the standings. Meaningless runs defines the meaningless stat frauds. Wins are what counts, not how many runs you win by or your meaningless run differential. Come on you clueless stat frauds and debate here where you won't get banned instead of banning posters who know baseball at your clueless feckless forums.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Louie Louie starts today to try to win a series we should have already won.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Steve......the stat frauds won't debate here because their lies and deceptions won't pass the smell test. Their combined ignorance is second to very little.

    4. Didi Gregorius (L) SS
    5. Jacoby Ellsbury (L) CF
    6. Chase Headley (S) 3B
    7. Chris Carter (R) 1B
    8. Tyler Wade (L) 2B
    9. Clint Frazier (R) LF
Judge, Sanchez, Wade, Frazier all starting. But why is Carter?

    ReplyDelete
  47. Mark my words. The worm will turn and this team will make a major impact on the AL East division.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Hey guys, I don't bother going to the stat fraud forums anymore. Most have failed or failing anyways. Those dolts are brain dead fools.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Yankees down 5-0 thru 5. Astro starter threw 105 in 4 innings and we did not score.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Final. Loss 8-1.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I see the stat frauds are overjoyed with Carter delivering a big ninth inning RBI single. The hit was really big in their eyes because it prevented the Yankees from being shutout for the first time this season.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Have we hit bottom yet? We do need to hit bottom before we can rise back to the top.

    ReplyDelete
  53. We have so many roster changes, lineup changes, injuries, etc, there has been no cohesion among the players. Maybe all this will work its way out.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Just about the half way mark for the 2017 season. Three consecutive 10 games losing stretches. Now in second place in division. Need to play better and more consistent better baseball in the second half of the season. The injuries have been devastating.
    10. 6-4
    20. 7-3 = 13-7
    30. 8-2 = 21-9
    40. 3-7 = 24-16
    50. 6-4 = 30-20
    60. 7-3 = 37-23
    70. 2-8 = 39-31
    80. 4-6 = 43-37

    ReplyDelete
  55. We do need to put wins together for most of our coming 10 game periods.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Happy Independence Day America and WIN METHOD Yankee fans.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Lets celebrate the 4th with a sweep.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Tanaka starts tonight's game.

    ReplyDelete
  59. When the Yankees come together as a team, watch out. The sooner the better. Would love to see it this season.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Come on guys. Yes we can and yes we will.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Monday 7/3 7:05pm

    3. Gary Sanchez (R) C
    4. Didi Gregorius (L) SS
    5. Chase Headley (S) 3B
    6. Jacoby Ellsbury (L) DH
    7. Ronald Torreyes (R) 2B
    8. Chris Carter (R) 1B
    9. Clint Frazier (R) LF
Yes WIN METHOD fans, Carter is in the lineup yet again. I know we let the manager manage and accept he knows more than any of us. Buttttttttttttttttttttttt!!

    ReplyDelete
  62. Guy, there has to be a reason we are not factoring into Girardi's reasoning.

    ReplyDelete
  63. We just have to start winning games. That usually stops bad thoughts dead.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Time for a win, the first of many.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Yanks get on board first with two first inning runs.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Yanks lead 2-0 after four, but have had several opportunities and failed, keeping Jays in game.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Yankees up 2-1 mid 7th as Sanchez give Toronto run on throwing error. Now it will be up to the bullpen.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Yanks 2-1 thru 7. Betances in for the 8th.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Betances gets through the eighth. Would be nice to get a couple of extra runs.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Another nail biter.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Headley bases loaded double breaks game open in 8th as Yanks score 4 runs for a 6-1 lead. Carter ends another inning in this game with a ground ball double play.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Chapman working hard to blow this game also. Score now 6-3. Just got a K for 2nd out, one man on.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Chapman gets third out, saved by Headley diving catch on very hard hit line drive. Yanks win 6-3.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Final, a 6-3 win. thank god for those runs in the 8th or Chapman would have blown another game.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Every game is a struggle, but at least this one was a win.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Now to add a win tomorrow.

    ReplyDelete
  77. CC is off the DL today and starts today's Independence Day game. He was sharp as a tack and winning when he got injured. Hope he comes back today the same.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Happy 4th everyone. God bless America.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Happy 4th. Lets win.

    ReplyDelete
  80. The Yankees last night only had to bat in 8 innings making 24 outs and Chris Carter was responsible for 6 of those outs. One batter of nine, 1/9th, responsible for 1/4 of the outs.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Carter likely will be on bench today..

    ReplyDelete
  82. Tuesday 7/4 1:05pm
    CC Sabathia (L)
    vs. Blue Jays - J.A. Happ (L)
    1. Brett Gardner (L) LF
    2. Aaron Judge (R) DH
    3. Gary Sanchez (R) C
    4. Didi Gregorius (L) SS
    5. Chase Headley (S) 3B
    6. Jacoby Ellsbury (L) CF
    7. Chris Carter (R) 1B
    8. Ronald Torreyes (R) 2B
    9. Clint Frazier (R) RF
Carter still playing. Surprised he isn't batting cleanup. He could be more devastating there.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Carter is devastating no matter where he bats in the lineup, sadly most of the time it is devastating to his team.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Happy July 4th Yankee fans.
    0-0 after 4.

    ReplyDelete
  85. After getting 8 straight outs to start the game, CC can't get the last out in the 3rd and gives up 4 runs. Yanks trail 4-0 after 3.

    ReplyDelete
  86. Yanks down 4-1 after 6.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Final 4-1 loss. Yanks go down without a whimper.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Maybe, just maybe if Chris Carter who imitates afraud were chucked this team could put a real player in the lineup and win a little more.

    ReplyDelete
  89. It looks like we are marching in place.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Still half the season to go. No reason to give up yet. Things change very quickly.

    ReplyDelete
  91. A win tomorrow would give us our first series in a month.

    ReplyDelete
  92. Pineda today's starter.

    ReplyDelete
  93. You have to win one series before you can win two in a row. Today can be a first step.

    ReplyDelete
  94. Wednesday 7/5 1:05pm
    Michael Pineda (R)
vs. Blue Jays - Marco Estrada (R)
    1. Brett Gardner (L) LF
    2. Aaron Judge (R) RF
    3. Gary Sanchez (R) DH
    4. Didi Gregorius (L) SS
    5. Chase Headley (S) 3B
    6. Jacoby Ellsbury (L) CF
    7. Ji-Man Choi (L) 1B
    8. Austin Romine (R) C
    9. Tyler Wade (L) 2B
Out with the broken fan and in with a working air conditioner. A left handed lineup for the first time this season.

    ReplyDelete
  95. Yankees down 1-0 after one.

    ReplyDelete
  96. Yanks down 1-0 after 2.

    ReplyDelete
  97. Pineda getting pummeled and being replace down 5-0 in the 4th with no outs.

    ReplyDelete
  98. Choi brings joy with 2 run HR in 5th to cut Toronto lead to 5-4.

    ReplyDelete
  99. LOL...out with the broken fan.

    ReplyDelete
  100. Sanchez with bases loaded and one out in 5th, fails when it counts and pops up. Didi up with bags full and 2 out. Didi produces when it counts with a 2 run double and a 6-5 Yankee lead.

    ReplyDelete
  101. 6-5 Yankees thru five after trailing 5-0.

    ReplyDelete
  102. Yanks up 6-5 after 6.

    ReplyDelete
  103. Betances in for the 8th and has to be relieved after 1 K and 4 W's giving up the lead and leaving bases full with one out. Betances is becoming another Carter. Totally useless.

    ReplyDelete
  104. Warren in with bases loaded and one out gets K for 2nd out. Big WHEN it counts clutch pitching. Yanks only down one coming to bat in 8th.

    ReplyDelete
  105. Yanks down 7-6 after 8.

    ReplyDelete
  106. If Yanks come back in 9th they will have to do it against a real closer in the Jays Osuna.

    ReplyDelete
  107. Final...another one run loss 7-6.

    ReplyDelete
  108. An interesting fact comparing Jays reliever Osuna and pathetic Betances. Osuna in over 30+ games the entire season has only walked 3 batters. Pathetic Betances walked 4 in 5 batters to blow today's game for his team. He has also walked 1 of every 3 batters he has face for the entire season. PATHETIC.

    ReplyDelete
  109. Well we lost another series.

    ReplyDelete
  110. What a nightmare we are going through.

    ReplyDelete
  111. Would like to thank the posters here for their respectful posts during this Yankee skid. Only one post was deleted in the past several weeks and it was by a stat fraud who used many expletives attacking the WIN METHOD and the posters here.

    ReplyDelete
  112. bigbadwolf...I bet it hasn't been easy for some. It is uncanny what his happening for the past month. Hope it turns out to be a movie script where everything turns out for the good at the end.

    ReplyDelete
  113. One small step, if the Yankees never ever in out life time allow Chris Carter to be put on the MLB roster.

    ReplyDelete
  114. Good news, Betances can't blow another game today.

    ReplyDelete
  115. Possible Holiday back tomorrow.

    ReplyDelete
  116. One more chance to take a series before the all star break. Monty, Tanka, and Louie Louie are the listed starters.

    ReplyDelete
  117. Sweep the first place Brewers.

    ReplyDelete
  118. I can almost guarantee if the Yankees sweep this series with the Brewers they will surely win the AL East this year.

    ReplyDelete
  119. SWWWWWWWWWWWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP

    ReplyDelete
  120. Yes, stay positive people. Yes we can.

    ReplyDelete
  121. Hope Monty and the bats get us off on the right foot tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  122. Friday 7/7 7:05pm
    Jordan Montgomery (L)
vs. Brewers - Junior Guerra (R)
    1. Brett Gardner (L) CF
    2. Chase Headley (S) 3B
    3. Aaron Judge (R) RF
    4. Gary Sanchez (R) DH
    5. Didi Gregorius (L) SS
    6. Clint Frazier (R) LF
    7. Ji-Man Choi (L) 1B
    8. Austin Romine (R) C
    9. Tyler Wade (L) 2B
Girardi did a little tinkering with Judge and Sanchez at 3 and 4 holes.

    ReplyDelete
  123. Time to rise and shine guys. Step up.

    ReplyDelete
  124. We are do to put things together, and when that happens look out at the top.

    ReplyDelete
  125. Yanks score first and lead 1-0 thru two.

    ReplyDelete
  126. Choi produces when it counts with 2 run HR in fourth to give Yankees 3-2 lead and still batting and now in a rain delay.

    ReplyDelete
  127. Back in action. 3-2 Yanks after 4.

    ReplyDelete
  128. Yankee bullpen in 7th, 3 walks, grand slam, double, rbi single, walk, putting Yanks down 9-4.
The bullpen has been sucking eggs for a month now.

    ReplyDelete
  129. Yankees down 9-4 after 8 and I ain't staying for the 9th. I am getting frustrated.

    ReplyDelete
  130. After last nights debacle Louie Louie starts today to try to even this series.

    ReplyDelete
  131. Saturday 7/8 1:05pm
    Luis Severino (R)
vs. Brewers - Brent Suter (L)
    1. Brett Gardner (L) DH
    2. Aaron Judge (R) RF
    3. Gary Sanchez (R) C
    4. Didi Gregorius (L) SS
    5. Chase Headley (S) 3B
    6. Jacoby Ellsbury (L) CF
    7. Clint Frazier (R) LF
    8. Austin Romine (R) 1B
    9. Ronald Torreyes (R) 2B
Still no Holiday, probably keep him out until after the break, along with Castro and Hicks. Frazier, to me, gives the impression he is flailing at the plate, but he is young yet.

    ReplyDelete
  132. Louie Louie gives up first inning 3 run HR. Yanks down 3-0 after first.

    ReplyDelete
  133. Yankees down 3-0 thru four and are hitless.

    ReplyDelete
  134. Yanks get 2 in 7th, trail 3-2 after 7 and on track for another 1 run loss.

    ReplyDelete
  135. Yanks rally in 9th for 3 runs on a 3 run walk off home run by rookie Clint Frazier.

    ReplyDelete
  136. Final a walk off HR for a 5-3 win.

    ReplyDelete
  137. Maybe maybe, just maybe the stinking worm is turning.

    ReplyDelete
  138. Also, Betances and Chapman pitched scoreless 8th and 9th innings.

    ReplyDelete
  139. Just have to win tomorrow and go from there as the injured return after the All Star game.

    ReplyDelete
  140. sid greenberg,nycJuly 8, 2017 at 4:12 PM

First series after the break is in Boston for four games. This could be "really huge" series and I hope it turns our way.

    ReplyDelete
  141. I remember several years ago the Yanks going into Boston and trouncing the sux mercilessly taking four games. Redux?

    ReplyDelete
  142. Lets finally win a series tomorrow.

    ReplyDelete
  143. Tanaka this afternoon to try to win a series in a month.

    ReplyDelete
  144. Hopefully Frazier walk off puts a charge into this team. Yes we can.

    ReplyDelete
  145. I just hope we see more and more of the youngsters gaining confidence and having productive at bats creating wins.

    ReplyDelete
  146. Louie Louie had one pitch cost him and the Yankees three runs and then he shut down the Brewers for the next six innings. Betances and Chapman pitched scoreless innings keeping the Yankee chances viable. The bats awoke in the last three innings led by rookie Clint Fraziers triple and home run for four of the Yankee five RBIs and making for the win. Teams win guys with players producing at key times to create those wins. Baseball is all about WINS.

    ReplyDelete
  147. Only in the small minds of some stat frauds the Yankees are rebuilding. No frauds, we are playing to win it all this year and yes we can.

    ReplyDelete

  148. Sunday 7/9 1:05pm

    Masahiro Tanaka (R)

vs. Brewers - Jimmy Nelson (R)

    1. Brett Gardner (L) LF

    2. Aaron Judge (R) RF

    3. Didi Gregorius (L) SS

    4. Gary Sanchez (R) C

    5. Jacoby Ellsbury (L) CF

    6. Chase Headley (S) 3B

    7. Clint Frazier (R) DH

    8. Ji-Man Choi (L) 1B

    9. Tyler Wade (L) 2B
    Six left handed bats today.

    ReplyDelete
  149. Tanaka like Louie Louie did yesterday puts Yankees in 3-0 hole in first inning giving up a 3 run HR.

    ReplyDelete
  150. Yankees down 4-0 after 2.

    ReplyDelete
  151. Frazier 2 run HR cuts Brewer lead to 4-3 after 4.

    ReplyDelete
  152. Tanaka immediately gives up run in 5th and is saved further disaster by Warren getting final 2 outs of inning with 2 men on. Yanks down 5-3 mid 5th.

    ReplyDelete
  153. The official language of Saint Barthélemy is French.

    ReplyDelete
  154. Yanks still down 5-3 after 8....Had a man on second with no outs twice this game and never scored them. Too many times when you play for the big inning you get burnt. Scoring one run at a time can lead to a bigger inning or keep you in the game. One run is usually better than 0 runs.

    ReplyDelete
  155. Final 5-3 loss and Yanks go 1 for 16 with runners in scoring position. The ultimate fail when it matters most. A sure way to make for losses.

    ReplyDelete
  156. Another series lost. Better be ready for next weekend.

    ReplyDelete
  157. This has really been a sad stretch of games.

    ReplyDelete
  158. I fully expect a rousing run after the All Star game.

    ReplyDelete
  159. I think Judge swings and misses at far too many pitches.

    ReplyDelete
  160. Lori, I agree. I would he could do better if he didn't swing so hard and just hit the outside pitches to right. When the pitchers come in on him, then pull the ball. It doesn't make any difference how hard you hit the ball nor how many home runs you hit. It is far more important to any and all players to be able to produce the most often when it matters most to the team and win games. Yes, I know the stat frauds are unable and or unwilling to understand this concept.

    ReplyDelete
  161. Mid season break. The Yankees have four days to pull their act together if they want to win their division and or make the playoffs this season.

Tonight is the farce called the HR Derby. The stat frauds will all be agog measuring how far, velocity, launch angle, how many balls are hit for home runs in a meaningless contest. None of which tells how much any of the participants help their team to win games by producing when it counts.

  162. All things considered we're really not all that bad off. Only two games behind Bos in the loss column for 1st. Considering all of our injuries which have decimated the lineup, and some of our horrible pitching, we are not in a bad position at all.

If what we've just seen is the Yankees without several key players, then I think we have a bright immediate future when we include Hicks, Castro and Holiday. Those are three very important bats.

And now that Choi is an instant replacement for Carter, I like our chances.

    ReplyDelete
  163. Yes guys and gals, it is only wins that determine the best. Anything else is camouflage and or hype.

    ReplyDelete
  164. What the all star break means to me...a four day sabbatical from baseball.

    ReplyDelete
  165. Thinking about this weekend series with the sux. Would love to win at least three of the four games.

    ReplyDelete
  166. Lets say Holiday, Hicks, and Castro are back.

  167. AAA.....You forgot a bay against the righty unless we are only playing with 8.

    ReplyDelete
  168. Jimmy, look again. And I am RLA.

    ReplyDelete
  169. For information purposes.....Aaron Judge dominated and won the Home Run Derby tonight in Miami.

    ReplyDelete
  170. Judge was awesome.

    ReplyDelete
  171. RLA, Your lineups are feasible. It still ALWAYS comes down to each individual producing when it matters.

    ReplyDelete
  172. When it counts, not how much nor how many. The only how many that matters is wins.

    ReplyDelete
  173. With three weeks left to go until the trading deadline, we will see if the Yankees make any deals. They have so many top prospects in the minors at all levels, if they wish to deal any I hope they did their homework on who they will positively hold on to and who they may be willing to let go.

    ReplyDelete
  174. The superior American League defeated the inferior national league again last night in the 2017 All Star game 2-1 in ten innings.

    ReplyDelete
  175. I don't think the Yankees will sign Harper. The dollars that would have to be wasted on Harper who has shown he is unable to lead his team to great success would set a bad precedent in then having to sign the bloom and grow youngsters developing in the system.

    ReplyDelete
  176. I hope the Yankees don't sign Harper. We have less expensive home grown winners blooming and growing.

    ReplyDelete
  177. There is no reason to pay anyone the money some of these individual stat guys are getting unless they take you to the playoffs and well beyond every year.

    ReplyDelete
  178. This is the last day fans, Yankee baseball and the run to the finish line is back tomorrow.

    ReplyDelete
  179. Time to produce when it counts and win games.

    ReplyDelete
  180. Lets take the bull by the horns and win our division. Yes we can.

    ReplyDelete
  181. The Yankees have traded lefty reliever Tyler Wade to the Milwaukee Brewers for AAA first baseman Garret Cooper. Cooper is a power bat that is hitting for average and power in AAA.

    ReplyDelete
  182. Yankees open four game series in Boston tonight. Sunday is a day night double header. Makeup of a rain out in April.

    ReplyDelete
  183. Monty listed to start tonight's game one.

    ReplyDelete
  184. A left hander at Fenway for us.

    ReplyDelete
  185. Pineda season done and also next season. Needs Tommy John surgery. That explains much. Greg Birds issue found, has been diagnosed with os trigonum inflammation. Possible surgery likely. That explains his problem. The os trigonum is an extra needless bone behind the ankle.

    ReplyDelete
  186. Yankee weekend rotation Monty, Louie Louie, Mitchell, Tanaka.

    ReplyDelete
  187. Tough luck for Pineda and the Yankees. Just hope the Yankees do not go after the dog Quintana. Pineda with a bad arm was 8-4 this season while the dog Quintana is 4-8 and has been a sub .500 pitcher for his career while being lauded by the stat frauds.

    ReplyDelete
  188. If the Yanks don't make the playoffs this season I can't be down after all the injuries this team has had. Pineda out does give a rookie or two and opportunity.

    ReplyDelete
  189. If Girardi can manage this team into the playoffs this season, it would be a giant feather in his cap and possibly rank him as the best manager in baseball.

    ReplyDelete
  190. By chance will Chance Adams get a shot? or maybe someone else that isn't hurt?

    ReplyDelete
  191. Friday 7/14 7:10pm
    Jordan Montgomery (L)
    @ Red Sox - Drew Pomeranz (L)
    1. Brett Gardner (L) LF
    2. Gary Sanchez (R) C
    3. Aaron Judge (R) RF
    4. Matt Holliday (R) DH
    5. Didi Gregorius (L) SS
    6. Garrett Cooper (R) 1B
    7. Jacoby Ellsbury (L) CF
    8. Chase Headley (S) 3B
    9. Ronald Torreyes (R) 2B
Holiday back, newbie Cooper starting at 1b.

    ReplyDelete
  192. Oh well, we lose our best pitcher, 4 games over .500 at 8-4 and the team as a whole is only 4 games over .500 at 45-41. Do we throw in the towel, heck no, we leave that to the stat frauds.

    ReplyDelete
  193. The Yankee season reminded me of this old Nat King Cole song called SMILE.

Smile tho' your heart is aching
    Smile even tho' it's breaking
When there are clouds in the sky
    You'll get by

    If you smile
    Thro' your fear and sorrow
    Smile and maybe tomorrow
You'll see the sun come shin-ing thro' for you

Light up your face with gladness
    Hide ev-'ry trace of sadness
Altho' a tear may be ever so near

    That's the time
    You must keep on trying
Smile, what's the use of crying
You'll find that life is still worth-while

    If you just smile
