WIN METHOD --- SPRING TRAINING 2018

The YANKEES play their first spring training game of 2018 tomorrow.  The players, the team, and the fans are looking forward to a very good season in 2018.  The playoffs are a must, and then advancing far as they can through the playoffs is the goal.  With hopefully getting to and winning the World Series the ultimate goal.

There are so many youngsters in this camp and in the YANKEE minor league system who are blooming and growing, each at their own rate.  Many of which will help the YANKEES win games this season, next season, and in future seasons.  Keep an eye out for Jhony Brito in the future. He could be special. And we all know success, greatness, and being the best can only be earned with wins and winning.   WIN METHOD fans who have read and posted on this blog for almost a decade now already know this.  You newcomers to this blog will learn real baseball here, not fantasy games, not with fake stats, and not with man made convoluted formulas that have no real value and are therefore meaningless.   You can't be the best unless you win.

The YANKEE acquisition of Giancarlo Stanton, who has always wanted to be a YANKEE and who used his power to negate trades and to what team he would be traded to forced the Miami Marlins into trading him to the YANKEES.  Stanton added to the lineup of Judge, Sanchez, Bird, Gregorius, and others will make for a very formidable offense.

The YANKEES have a couple of rookies looking to make their MLB debut this season with YANKEES.  Miguel Andujar and Gleyber Torres at third base and second base will make their debuts at some point this season as they bloom and grow.   Rookie pitchers Chance Adams and Justus Sheffield both may have an impact at some point this season for the YANKEES.

As the spring training games begin, lets all hope for a healthy injury free spring and much blooming and growing.  LETS GO YANKEES!

Healthy and injury free for the season would likely make for a very very good season.

WIN METHOD, I have read where fans are talking how good the farm system is and how did it happen. They mention the selection of players with good character, etc. The stat frauds refuse to use the name WIN METHOD. You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink.

We have all seen Guy Padikian's spring training game countdown using player numbers. Here is something amazing about the eight players he used and their uniform numbers 1 thru 8.
Of the eight players, three were outfielders, and there were one each of a first, second, and third baseman, a shortstop, and a catcher.
Outfield, Ruth(3), Mantle(7), DiMaggio(5).
1b, Gehrig(4). 2b, Martin(1). 3b, Torre(6). ss, Jeter(2). c, Berra(8).

So, the numbers 1-8 could field all positions. Amazing.

Here is the best part. The eight players played in 64 World Series winning 48 of them equalling .750 baseball. Simply astounding.

One more, the time frame between start of the earliest career to the end of the last was 100 years.

Saul Irving said...

jimbo, Also, all the players are in the HOF except Jeter who will be in when eligible in another year or two. Truly amazing. And that is why the Yankees are a dynasty forever.

Dakarai Folami said...

What great information, thanks everyone.

Hobbs said...

The Yankees have achieved what no other team will ever achieve and how did they do it? With WINS and WINNING.

Izy Hernandez said...

I have not seen the above information anywhere, ever. Another reason why the WIN METHOD is the best blog/forum in the world. Great stuff, great information, great posters.

1. Luis Cessa starting for Yankees tomorrow in first spring game.
2. WOW! Those great players won 3 of 4 of every WS.

Steve, I have to laugh every I read somewhere someone saying has has the Yankee farm system come around so quickly. The farm system has always produced. It was just that George always wanted to win now and bought proven talent, and now all produced as they got older and one was one of the biggest corrupt cheats in baseball history. If anyone wants to know why the Yankees do so well, it is right here. They just have to stop denying the truth and realize their made up formulas are garbage can liners.

Frank Sergi said...

Where will all the Yankee starters wind up this spring. Several will have to go to Scranton, but man-o-man are we loaded. And we didn't have to spend big bucks on anyone.

Yankees win 9-8 for fifth straight win. The Yanks used many pitchers and several got hit hard. Most were secondary low level players. Andujar with his 2nd spring HR in back to back games. How are you gonna keep them down on the farm.

Diane Stahl said...

Hope the big dogs don't lose today. The pressure is on them since the young pups have won five in a row.

Wilsonsway said...

The difference is the youngsters are trying to show what they can do, and established players only have to get ready for the regular season. But winning is better than losing.

Sal Mineo said...

Cessa hammered in 3rd giving up 4 runs putting the Yankees down 4-2.

George W said...

Warren goes three shutout innings. Betances same old same old giving up run and not finishing inning. Yanks down 5-2 in 6th.

Larry Kennedy said...

Yankee youngsters score 4 times in 8th to even score 6-6.

jimbo said...

Final, Yanks finally lose 9-6. So many youngsters showing a lot of heart in loss. And some showing they may never get to the majors.

yankeedoodledandy said...

I watched the whole game and the last two innings were real crazy. The 8th and 9th innings reminded me of a little league game. I do not mean it negatively, but many crazy things happened over those two innings. If it was a regular season game I probably would have gone berserk, but being a spring training game with a bunch of low level kids involved it was fun.

Al Ashton, the Yankees are taking it easy with Louie Louie because he threw 209 innings last season and it was a good size jump over 2016. They want to keep him strong so they are not pushing him this spring. He will be in a game this coming week and ready for the start of the season.

Looking at Machado in a common sense way, why spend 300-400 million on a player (WIN METHOD) or not when you more than likely have a better player at the position in Miguel Andujar on the cusp.

Gus Papa said...

coryankee, no question. I think Machado may be a dirtbag. I don't like a player telling his manager where he wants to play rather than saying I'll play wherever you need me.

I find it somewhat interesting how several of the so called "best players in the game" can't help their team reach the playoffs consistently. However, the stat frauds always seem to have the answer to cover their fake evaluations of these players. It's their teammates fault.

If Lind makes the team and some kids go to AAA, it just makes the organization stronger and gives them an extra piece that some other team may need come late July. It makes our leverage that much stronger if we need something.

White Knight said...

At this point in spring training, I can't see any unsigned free agent signing anything but a minor league deal right now. I have no doubt that Lind wanted to get into a major league camp as opposed to the MLPA camp. This way Lind sees real live game pitching.

Yankeeforever said...

I believe the Yankees should stick with the kids. The team already has enough power. On the other hand, Lind is no slouch and adds a veteran presence.

Big thing with this game was for the Yankees this was a road game and usually only a very few regulars make a roadie. The Yankee pitchers were pretty much facing the sux opening day lineup and all their regulars. I think this was a bigger win than most fans realize. There is tons of depth on this team. You could split the top 50 guys in the Yankee organization and have two winning MLB teams.

Steven said...

bigbadwolf said...

Unfortunately we have a poster here in Steven who likes to take the WIN METHOD Yankee baseball forum into a rabbit hole. Being the most open baseball talk site possible, we accept and post all opinions and views. Steven says he can't believe in WIN METHOD because he hasn't seen him and has seen no proof that he exists, then Steven wants us to believe in something he says he saw but does not exist and no one else saw. That is the rationale of a very sick person. Steven most of the time doesn't talk baseball, the blooming and growing of young Yankee players, nor the greatness of the WIN METHOD. He will not be censored, and his posts will not be deleted as long as they are civil. His comments when wrong, biased, false, and lies will always be countered with correct information and intelligent opinions and views by the WIN METHOD followers, the most intelligent baseball fans in the world.
Now onward to baseball, todays game, spring training, and the season.

That was actually an error- was wrong on that, my phone was going to an old link. Not a lie, just a mistake.

Deb F
Irrefutable proof? You’re a truly interesting person.

Linda Rice said...

I liked Eovaldi. My best wishes for his success with the Rays. May he win every start except for his starts against the Yankees.

Wilsonsway said...

I can live with a few more losses this spring. Everything seems to be going to well. Law of averages?

RLA said...

Stanton has looked scary in left field losing two balls in the sun.

Phil Jenkins said...

We are watching a game, talking baseball, and Steven has nothing to say. He has defined himself with lies and negativity.
Yanks down 4-0 after 4.

RLA said...

Wow, Stanton with another misplay in the 5th.

KevMac said...

Louie Louie info. He threw a simulated game yesterday. Three innings, 47 pitcher, 7 K's. Looked really pumped up.

Bobby Behan said...

KevMac, Good new about Louie Louie. He is not getting pushed, slow and easy wins the race.

jimbo said...

Yanks go down 9-1 in a very sloppy lackluster game.

Augie Defonce said...

Off day tomorrow. Perfect time after an 8-2 start. Cuts in camp size likely coming soon. That will give more time to the contenders as the minor league camps are opening and need their lineups filled.

Sharon/NC said...

It is so nice reading about baseball and not Stevens BS. Sorry folks, I just had to say it.

Steven said...

There’s certainly some BS abound, unfortunately for you it isn’t coming from me

Monty is listed for Tuesday's game vs. the Tigers.

The LA Angels Ohtani has gotten off to a slow spring, but it is very early. Just glad he isn't a Yankees.

Ziggy Mann said...

coryankee, hear, hear.

Lloyd Fuller said...

So far so good this spring.

Domenic said...

Louie Louie likely Wed. or Thurs. this week.

Teena/Bronx said...

Stanton didn't look good in left today. I saw the replays. But a few other fielders for both teams had troubles also. It was very windy with a very bright sunny sky.

Izy Hernandez said...

Watching Andujar walk to the plate and swing the bat, he seems to me to very confident. He is not afraid and he can hit the ball anywhere.

Steven said...

Robert Mandel
Are you a CCNY alum with winmethod?

RLA said...

Izy Hernandez, I agree. Lets see how he handles a slump if he has an extended one.

Cory said...

Andujar has been in the Yankee system for many years with a slow steady deliberate growth that is now blooming and growing. He is just coming of age and has many years ahead of him.

Warren Hammond said...

The interesting point with Andujar is every step up from rookie league up to AAA, he did not have great numbers until he reached AA and AAA. As the competition got tougher he got better.

Guy Padikian said...

Our highest rated rookie Gleyber Torres hasn't found his stride yet this spring. That may be a good thing for now. There is still three weeks to go and there would be absolutely nothing wrong with him going to AAA until he gathers his thoughts, extends Yankee control over him for an added year, and he is ready to make an impact in the big leagues.

Nick Polito said...

I may want to do things differently, but I accept the decisions Yankee management makes regarding players. They have all the information that is needed, I (we) do not have anywhere the knowledge they do.

Victor Grandozi said...

I have been around long enough to know to go with the flow. Let the manager manage and the GM make the deals.

Boston/Yankee said...

Sometimes the best deals you don't make are the best ones for the team in the long run. I believe the Ohtani non deal was the best thing that could have happened for the Yankees. In this day and age I just can't see catering to a pitcher who wants to play a position also.

coryankee said...

Boston/Yankee, I agree.

Jerry Curcio said...

The way I look at signing free agents is....if you feel the guy will help your team and WIN METHOD OKs him, you offer him a really good deal and if he goes someplace else for more money and or years, let him go. Money is nice, but a little less money, playing for the Yankees and winning is as good as it gets.

bigbadwolf said...

I am going to follow how Clarke Schmidt progresses this season. WIN METHOD really liked him.

Frank Harris said...

Back in action tomorrow. Things should start to pick up. Pitchers will start to add innings.
Position players will play a little longer and get an extra at bat here and there.

Kenny Sheperd said...

No TV listed for tomorrows game.

Gordon Gecko said...

Lets how we bounce back after a 9-1 trouncing and a day off.

Guy Padikian said...

Tuesday 3/6 1:05pm
Jordan Montgomery (L)
@ Tigers - Francisco Liriano (L)
1. Didi Gregorius (L) SS
2. Aaron Judge (R) RF
3. Greg Bird (L) 1B
4. Giancarlo Stanton (R) LF
5. Gary Sanchez (R) C
6. Aaron Hicks (S) CF
7. Adam Lind (L) DH
8. Miguel Andujar (R) 3B
9. Gleyber Torres (R) 2B

How about this lineup. We are facing a left today. The only change against a left I would make is Gardner in LF, Stanton DH, Lind out. Gardner leads off and Didi in the 7 hole.

Nathan Riley said...

Monty completes three innings. Control off walking four, three in the second inning where he gave up one run pitching out of a bases loaded jam he created. Down 1-0 after three.

Billy Tedder said...

2-2 after 6. Andujar has his worst game. K, DP, Popup, leaving five runners on base.

yankeelover said...

Yanks subs score twice in the eighth for a 4-2 lead capped by a steal of home by Shane Robinson.

yankeelover said...

Yank subs score three more in ninth capped by Billy McKinney three run home run and take 7-2 lead mid ninth.
