WIN METHOD 2016 SEASON -- Only wins and winning determine the best.

The 2016 Major League Baseball season starts today.  The New York YANKEES first game will be tomorrow in New York against the Houston Astros.    The starting rotation has been decided, the twenty-five man roster has been decided, and tomorrow the drive for the playoffs will begin.  This is not fantasy baseball, played by stat fraud fools who live by meaningless individual statistics, this is real baseball where winning is determined by what all players on each team contribute to help their team win the most often.   These contributions are measured by wins and players producing at the right time, when it matters, and not by how much or how many stats they produce for themselves as their team fails.

The injury bug has bitten the YANKEES, as it has bitten every team in one way or another.  First baseman Greg Bird is likely out for the season.  Pitcher Brian Mitchell may be out approximately three months, and pitcher Andrew Miller with a broken bone in his non throwing wrist may have been the luckiest, and will lose no playing time.

Several YANKEE WIN METHOD youngsters are blooming and growing and are on the roster to start the season, and several more are on the near horizon and will start their season in the minors.
Several years ago the WIN METHOD made a concerted effort to find pitching talent each season and the YANKEES drafted many of these youngsters.   The time is here for some of these youngsters and the time for others is just around the corner.

The YANKEE management led by the brilliant dealing of General Manager Brian Cashman have added several new players to this seasons roster and have deepened the bench for 2016.   Also, three very possible future stars are so near.  Catcher Gary Sanchez, right fielder Aaron Judge, and shortstop Jorge Mateo are getting closer to the major league roster every day.  Playing regularly in the minors right now is best for them and their development.  But they will soon be heard from.

Remember fans, it is a long season, there will be ups and downs, and as always only wins and winning will be the determining factor on which teams earn playoffs spots and go on to the second season.    Let the stat fraud fools play their fantasy games.   We will play for real baseball and root for our team to win and root for the contributions of each player to help our team win.

LETS GO YANKEES

You haven't, and probably can't, refute anything I said with tangible evidence. You can't muster up any evidence that winmethod exists within the Yankee organization. You can't come up with any good reason for why th me Yankees have been so bad in the draft over season after season. You sir, resort to insults because you have nothing intellegent to say- sad.

And why no discussion as to the players the Yankees have acquired, just more talk of Arod? You guys think it

Stat frauds can only try to belittle and demean the WIN METHOD and WIN METHOD himself. Because they have nothing of value to offer and their stats have proven to be useless time after time. While the WIN METHOD has been the best tool in baseball for the past two decades. It has given the team the most wins, highest win percentage, most playoffs attained, most pennants won and most World Series won. That is golden in my book.

Unknown said...

What's your point? All wins aren't equal either.

Tommy Lee said...

We have Tanaka starting tonight.

bigbadwolf said...

Steven Fischer, can you elaborate on your very stupid "All wins aren't equal either." statement.

Unknown said...

A win on the last day of a mediocre season to get to 80 wins isn't as important as a win in game 7 of the world series.

You're a real jerk bigbadwolf, considering pretty much all the predictions of the posters here for this season have been dead wrong, I don't know where you get this condescending attitude from.

bigbadwolf said...

Steven Fischer, I was right, your statement is stupid. If that win to get you to 80 wins on the last day of the season gets you into the playoffs it is of vital importance, just as are the other 79 games you won before that during the season to have a chance to get into the playoffs.
Now addressing you seventh game of the World Series comment. The team you got to win the seventh game of the World Series only because they earned enough wins, one at a time to reach the playoffs. Every game was of vital importance. Now into the playoffs, that team had to win a minimum of two series to reach the World Series and every games was of vital importance and not winning those games means the team does not get a chance to be in the World Series making you stupid point all the much stupider. No team wins the World Series unless they win vital games all season and second season long.

You have to stop taking those stat fraud stupid pills.

Unknown said...

bigbadwolf
You're a fool, and misunderstood my point.

Team A: Is out of the playoffs, but goes on a 10 game win streak. Doesn't make the playoffs.

Team B: Goes on a 10 game win streak to inch into the playoffs.

Team A's wins were not nearly as meaningful as Team B's wins were they? As such, they were not equal.

I wasn't referring to the same team in my original example. Got it? You made up the caveat that the 80th win got them into the playoffs...

Warren Hammond said...

My thoughts on winning. Every game you win moves a team forward. Every loss does not move a team forward. An arbitrary number, you need 90 wins to make the playoffs and you get 89, every one of those 73 games were vital and everyone had the same value. The same can be said for each round of the playoffs. Even the wild card playoff game. One game, vital importance, you lose you are done, you win you move on. Each round of the playoffs is the same, each win is equal and of vital importance until one team wins the round and the same for the World Series, you don't get to a seventh game unless each team won three vital games. One team only wins two and there is no seventh game. My God, stat frauds are dumb.

bigbadwolf said...

Steven Fischer, I can't believe how stupid your argument is.
Team A doesn't go to the playoffs because they didn't win enough games.
Team B goes to the playoffs because they did win enough games.
For either team it makes no difference when the wins and or streaks come over the 162 game schedule. A team can be 90-42 starting September and lose their last 30 and go to the playoffs. A team can be 60-72 starting September and win their last 30 and go to the playoffs. Every win is equal no matter how you want to parse it with your stat fraud values. How do you think the stat fraud earned their name.
I can make up a hundreds of scenarios, but no matter what and when wins are earned in the season and playoffs, they all have the same value. Everyone move you a step closer to the final goal and that can be said for each and every team.

Unknown said...

Bigbadwolf
It's painfully obvious that some wins are more important than others, no one would argue that point, except for you.

If you clinch your division, does the next game (or win) matter as much as game of a playoff series?!?

Unknown said...

Also you're completely taking out the human aspect of the game.

A win against a certain team can boosts a teams confidence, which could be huge going forward, while beating up on a last place team wouldn't have the same effect.

Do you even watch baseball or just look at the standings everyday?

Warren Hammond said...

Like a week or so ago when the Yankees defeated the O's 3-1, the Giants 2-1. and the Indians 3-1, then got swept by the Rays 0-3. I can't believe how utterly stupid your points are. Are you trying to bring down this blog to the depths of the baseball forums and their largely ignorant posters. Every game has the same value. I think you are conflating the value of a series of games as in the playoffs with the value of a game. The value of a game never changes. Conflating, that is what stat frauds do.

Lori Kelly said...

Great stuff guys, you are burying the stat fraud. He does make it easy though.

Unknown said...

How does a win after clinching your division and home field advantage have the same value as a playoff win. How?

Lori Kelly said...

Using your ignorant words, """""A win against a certain team can boosts a teams confidence, which could be huge going forward,"""""

reinvaldez said...

I'm surprised you haven't tried to use spring training games Steven. Don't they count the same as playoff games?

White Knight said...

Teams should be able to carry forward extra wins from a previous season to the next to help them out. Stat frauds would like that.

Unknown said...

reinvaldez
What? I'm arguing that not all games count the same...You're making a point towards what I'm saying

Unknown said...

Lori
Please bury me. How does a win, after home field advantage is clinched, equal any playoff win. Or how does a win by a last place team in September, equal a win that catapults a team to a playoffs. One win is under no pressure, with nothing on the line, while the other is with everything on the line.

Please explain why this is so. Instead of your sly remarks, I'd like to hear an answer. Otherwise you are a fool, who follows fools, and likes to gang up on people, with no real intelligent thoughts of their own.

Lori Kelly said...

Victor Grandozi said...

Unknown said...

Haha okay, yes I am guilty of name calling, though I did not begin the trend.

However, it was an immature reaction, and I apologize for it. Let's get back to the topic on hand.

Please give me a compelling reason why a regular season win after clinching the division is of equal importance and meaning as a game 7 playoff win. Anyone is welcome. Please try and be concise.

Lori Kelly said...

Steven Fischer, sadly too many of your posts are stupid. Not all however.

I answered your question with an answer you used on a similar issue.

You can't be different if you believe in the WIN METHOD and know created stats are manipulated, biased, and false.

All stat frauds are on trial, and all are guilty. Don't feel special.

Unknown said...

See Lori,

My posts are different, but they are not stupid. I'm done with the immature name calling stuff and will not succumb to it.

You did answer my question, with an answer I used (on the same issue actually). However I refuted that- If you are going to use that premise, you're admitting that all wins aren't equal. So I'm asking if you can, to come up with an actual reasoning.

If you can't, feel free to admit.

However trying to have a reasonable debate with the members on this forum is certainly a challenge, I think a more mature approach can certainly be had. I don't consent for a second that I've been "buried", I've just been ridiculed, and rather unfairly.

RLA said...

Steven Fischer you posted ""Please give me a compelling reason why a regular season win after clinching the division is of equal importance and meaning as a game 7 playoff win. Anyone is welcome. Please try and be concise.""

My response is the same Lori Kelly used to your question. It is your own words of what a win can mean in that scenario. That win after clinching the division can help the teams confidence and make a big difference going forward. A win is always good at any time.

And in your own words.
""A win against a certain team can boosts a teams confidence, which could be huge going forward.""

Unknown said...

RLA
Thank you. However, if you truly believe this, then aren't you agreeing with my original premise, that all wins are not equal? If one win does instill more confidence in the team than the other, then they can't be.

I stand by my words - but they were ridiculed pretty hard if you recall.

RLA said...

Steven Fischer, all wins are not equal is your opinion. Every win is a step forward. Just because a team clinches the division a week before the season ends and still has six games to play only means they can rest players, set their rotation, rest their bullpen , etc. They still want to win and each game has the same value as the previous 156 games. Just because they do not 'have to' win the games does not lessen their value.
To move to the playoff games in a seven game series. A team needs to win four games to move forward. If a team wins four straight games five, six and seven truly have no value, only because they are not played. But, each game has the same value as it is only one win, be it by 2-1 or 17-5. Still only one win, nothing extra for the final score. If both teams win three games in any order or by any score, there is a game seven and it means just one thing and has only one value the same as any other game at any other time when teams are playing games that count. See, spring training games don't count. A team can go 30-2 in spring training or 6-26, it means nothing. Back to the seventh game of the playoffs the win only means one team can move forward. Then they could lose the next four and never get to the Series. You could say using YOUR way of valuing a game, the team that wins the first three games of a playoffs can look at the fourth, fifth, and sixth games as no big deal we can always win the seventh game.

Tommy Lee said...

RLA, I thought you post was outstanding. When a professional team ever starts to think a game has a lesser meaning than another game, they have an intrinsic problem.

Lori Kelly said...

Guys, I think that defines the way WIN METHOD fans look at their team and the game. All these years here and I don't recall anyone throwing in the towel just because the team has been behind in a game or down in the standings or struggling at any time. On the other hand, the stat frauds, and maybe not everyone of them, whine and cry constantly when things aren't going well or the way they think should go. The game is always about wins and winning, every game all the time.

jimbo said...

Game time.

Unknown said...

I'm going to respectfully disagree. I've seen games after clinching where the team played almost all backups. They pretty clearly are valuing resting the starters for the postseason more than the win.

You would never see this in the post season, where the manager is going to do everything in his power to win the game at all costs.

Sure the team might want to win the other game, but that win is not valued above resting the players for the postseason, where the wins are going to matter more than anything.

Based on this I think it's tough to argue that all games are equal. They might look the same in the standings, but the team doesn't value them the same

candycane said...

0-0 after 2.

candycane said...

Yanks down 2-0 after 4.

Vinny Ferrero said...

Steven Fischer, almost all backups is not likely. Most teams carry 12 pitchers, some more. 12 pitchers means 13 field players. In the AL you need 9 men in the lineup. That would mean if all backups are in the game you would still have more than half your lineup with regulars.
Tommy Lee said it all, if you do not play to win as a team, the team has an intrinsic problem.
More so the manager.

Unknown said...

Vinny
You went through a lot of trouble there but sorry, rosters are expanded to 40 players by that time of the season. The Yankees almost always have done this after clinching the division- just take a look. There's not harm in resting the team after clinching.

Only one coumn decides which teams reach the playoffs. Yes, it is WINS. The team doesn't win enough games the team does no reach the playoffs. This is irrefutable fact and don't let any stat fraud try to tell you differently.

The biggest part of why it is only wins that count and only wins that determine who goes to the playoffs is a win can be earned countless ways. That alone is why when you try to count up how much or how many a team attained in any category it is in essence meaningless. You can get 20 hits in one game and win 15-0 or you can get 1 hit and win 1-0. Or you can get 8 hits and win 10-9 and on and on. Wins is all that matters in reaching the playoffs.

I love the way some people think afraud mentors the youngsters. The only thing afraud can mentor them on is lying, cheating, and drug abuse.

Benny Pake said...

afraud has been garbage and cheated since high school. Drug use has been a giant black eye for baseball and the stooge commissioners that let it happen.

Lou Lis said...

Lets go Yankees. Take down the Mets.

Dane Ostroff said...

Bunt on Colon. Make him move and run.

Gloria LeClair said...

As Steve posted, a win can be achieved in countless ways. The point is not how a win is achieved, but that it is achieved.

Now we host the Indians for three games. Pineda tonight.

Fred Slube said...

Eovaldi made a what turned out to be a poor decision last night trying for an out at 2nd base, and not geting it instead of taking a sure out at first base and it may have cost him the game. One bad inning is magnified when you team does not produce when their opportunities arise.

Diane Stahl said...

Slowly but surely the clock is ticking and the games left are diminishing. Act fast guys.

Mark Teixeira has announced that this season will be his last and that he is retiring. Mark has been a solid reliable Yankee since his signing. The fact that he is ready to give up dollars shows his character and may also have to do with recent injuries which may be just to much for him to deal with.

Teena/Bronx said...

After Jeter, Tex was my favorite Yankee. Thanks foe the memories and best of luck in the future.

William Mensom said...

What you take away from Teixeiras retirement is the class of a true WIN METHOD Yankee. Teixeira is leaving money on the table and walking away to help the team, opening a roster spot for a AAA player to move to the big team. Pure class. Thank you Mark.

Patricia Piper said...

It looks like the injuries have gotten to be too much for Mark Teixeira. Any time a player gives up contract dollars that player becomes a symbol of integrity, class, and character. You have been a good Yankee and a World Champion. Love you Mark.

Yankeeforever said...

All hail Mark Teixeira. Thank you for your contributions.

RLA said...

So long Mark. Best of luck in future endeavors.

Frank Sergi said...

Good bye Mark Teixeira. Good luck.

Cole/NJ said...

Thanks for your time and all you have done to help the Yankees succeed Mark.

Gus Papa said...

The Yankees have announced a news conference for 3 p.m. ET.
Teixeira's contract expires at the end of the season. The 14-year veteran is 36, and he has dealt with injuries in each of the last five seasons.
When healthy, Teixeira was among the game's best offensive and defensive players at his position.
It is not official yet, but will be.
Thanks for already helping the the Yankees move forward in 2017.

Will
His contract is up at the end of the season, he's not really leaving anything on the table. Don't think the Yankees would've been looking to resign him with Bird waiting in the wings.

Saul Irving said...

Thanks for the memories Mark Teixeira. You were truly WIN METHOD for a good amount of time.

johnsondc said...

Negative Nellie shows up again with more negativity. At just 36, he would have easily been signed by some team if not the Yankees. I bet the Yankees would have signed him however, he and Bird would have worked out well at first base, even if Bird got most of the playing time. But again, you post a loser comment in a succession of positive comments.

Bud Light said...

Sorry Steven, I also must be positive about a fine Yankees who has contributed much to helping his team to playoffs, and beyond.
Thanks Mark for becoming a Yankee.

Unknown said...

Woah johnsondc relax, I wasn't being negative at all just pointing out that his contract was up.

You don't seem like a very friendly guy...

Unknown said...

And for the record, loved Teixiera on this team and all he's contributed. However considering the direction of the team is trending (namely getting younger), I do think it's the right time for them to part ways after this season.

So yeah, think that was pretty uncalled for reaction Johnsondc, you're kind of going out of your way to attack me now, it's a bad look.

Lori Kelly said...

Injuries can be devastating. When injuries curtail a players career as with any person in any profession it hurts more. So long Tex, and thank you.

Lets so what kind of reception Teixeira gets when he steps to the plate.

johnsondc said...

Steven Fischer, your post was fine. the part that ruffled my feathers was that he wasn't leaving anything on the table. To retire at 36 because of injury is leaving alot on the table.

Unknown said...

Typically that phrase is used when the player has a contract still and retires regardless, so I was just clarifying. Seems like a pretty aggressive reaction to my post.

Stan the Man said...

jimbo, hope Tex gets some standing ovations before he packs it in.

Yankeedoodledandy said...

Maybe Teixeira can finish the season strong with a few big game determining hits.

KevMac said...

Glad you were a Yankee Mark and thank you for your contributions to the team.

Vinny Ferrero said...

Lets go Yankees, lets go Teixeira.

Ursula F/Texas said...

From Mark Teixeira......."Being a free agent at season's end, and being 36, retirement is always in the back of your mind," Teixeira said. "This year, my neck started bothering me, I hurt my knee and I just kind of realized my body can't do it anymore. If I have to grind through season not being healthy, I'd rather be somewhere else."

Deb F said...

Lets take down another division leader. Our cup of tea.

Good luck Teixeira.
