WIN METHOD - player evaluation dominance

Coming back from a whirlwind five weeks on the road.  Started with the YANKEE western swing in late May to Oakland to Anaheim to Detroit.  Interviews, interviews, interviews, the draft, and finally the College World Series.

We got everything we wanted out of this years draft.  Picking almost last each year and still coming through with some of the best baseball talent is a feather in the cap of the WIN METHOD player evaluation system.  The YANKEES since the inception and use of the WIN METHOD have been baseballs winning-est team with the most playoffs, pennants, and World Championships than any other team in baseball.  Factually, no other team comes even close.

How about this years team.  Riddled with crippling injuries, and many other lesser injuries, this team has performed admirably.  First place, with player after player stepping up and playing WIN METHOD baseball.  Winning as a team.   WINS is all that counts.

How many of you remember my special WIN METHOD selection back in 2009 of Adam Warren and his rise through the ranks?  Well, Adam is being called up by the YANKEES and will start Friday nights game in the Stadium against the Chicago White Sox.   Good luck, Adam.  Remember it's all about the WIN METHOD.

If any of you want a good laugh, you can go to several of the baseball talk forums.  Go to the the YANKEE threads and you will see just what is meant by the dumbing down of America.    Most, not all, but most posters know little to nothing about baseball, they get mired in mind numbing meaningless, worthless individual stats and when confronted whine and cry like  immature childlike fools.   The worst is, the moderators are the biggest and dumbest culprits.  When threatened and provided facts and collaborating sites they immediately demean the poster and the other valid sites.  All you can do is laugh at these brain dead losers.   These guys are in their comfort zone when they are supported by their clique of mental delinquents, but know if they come here to debate anything they will get buried by an avalanche of common sense and facts from the smartest fans in the baseball world, WIN METHOD fans.  They have no game and what game they have is losing and claiming they are the best.

In the second half of this season we will have several quality players coming back and this team will get better and better.  All the while, the youngsters picked over the last few years develop and get ripe until they are needed and ready to be picked and promoted.

2nd and 3rd, no outs Afraud up. Strikes out on 3 pitches. Get him the heck off the team already. We are cursed. Swisher up with one out. Swisher walks, bases loaded for Granderson. We are still playing around Afraud. Granderson strike out on three pitches. This is pathetic. Martin up. Martin strikes out. Three innings we leave the bases loaded.

Tom Loughlin said...

Afraud should never play anither game for the Yankees. Sad to say Granderson may be headed in the same direction. If you can't produce when it counts you don't win.

Ken Shepard said...

Ichiro starts 11th with single. C ano at bat. Cano flies out to left. Texieria up. Tex pops out to short. Ibanez up. Does he have more heroics in him? Ibanez pops out to 2nd. On to the 12th, again.

Erica Nuyens said...

I couldn't sleep at all last night. Derek Jeter has been the heart and soul of Yankee fans, the Yankee team, and all of MLB. Thinking of you WIN METHOD, love you and take care.

johnsondc said...

From the Associated Press.............NEW YORK (AP) — Delirious only minutes earlier, fans at Yankee Stadium sat stunned in utter disbelief while they watched Derek Jeter being helped off the field.

Their worst fears were met, too. The durable captain broke his left ankle and is out for the rest of the postseason.

Three innings after Raul Ibanez sent the 47,122 in Yankee Stadium into a frenzy with a tying two-run homer, the New York shortstop silenced the crowd when he went down and didn't get up after making a tumbling stop on Jhonny Peralta's grounder in the 12th inning.

That feel-good moment was gone in a flash.

Jeter appeared to stumble as he took several steps to his left for the sharp grounder, went down and winced in pain as he flipped the ball toward second base. He then rolled onto his stomach, and a collective gasp was heard when the player who symbolizes championship baseball didn't get up.

Jeter remained on his side, rolling slightly, as trainer Steve Donahue and manager Joe Girardi checked him out. He was helped up, and he put an arm around Girardi and Donahue. They coaxed him off the field with Jeter not moving his left leg as chants of "Derek Jeter!" rang out.

"You can see the disappointment in his face," Girardi said after the Yankees' 6-4 loss.

Girardi said the injury won't jeopardize Jeter's career. But the recovery will be about three months.

Now if the Yankees are going to go deep in the postseason they'll have to do it without their captain for the first time in 16 years.

"It's kind of crushing," outfielder Nick Swisher said.

Jeter has been a constant in the Yankees lineup since he was Rookie of the Year in 1996. In fact, he has played in all 157 of New York's postseason games since then.

That's over now.

"I can't tell you how much I appreciate his toughness and his grit," Girardi said. "It's, to me, a great example for everyone. And I am not just talking about athletes, I am just talking about everyone that goes through struggles in life or goes through pain in life."

Already missing career saves leader Mariano Rivera from those five championship teams since early May because he tore a ligament in his knee shagging flyballs, the Yankees will activate Eduardo Nunez before Game 2 of the series on Sunday. Jayson Nix is expected to start at shortstop.

Jeter served as the designated hitter in Game 4 of the AL division series after fouling a ball off the same foot the previous night and had to come out after the eighth inning. It was the first time he didn't start a playoff game at shortstop, as Nix started in his place.

"I saw him flip the ball to Robbie (Cano), and you figure he's going to get back up," Swisher said. "When he didn't was when I knew something was wrong and you know he wanted to get up and get off the field as quickly as he possibly could."

The weekend started out great with the Friday night win, and then it all came to an end. Take care Jeter. Lead us next year after a season of major changes. Afraud must go for one and never wear a Yankee uniform again.

will-i-am said...

Regardless of what happens, major respect to Jeter for gritting out this whole season, dude played until his body just could not take it anymore.

RLA said...

This goes down as one of the most soul-crushing games/losses I can remember.

Zhaire said...

It's time for the troops to rally and win it all for Mo & Jete.

Tomas Velez said...

Derek Jeter ends his season literally injuring himself to make a play.

A-Rod halfheartedly swings at a pitch well out of the zone and doesn't even flinch toward first base on the dropped third strike, despite the runner at third.

A-Rod is a disgrace as a human being.

Saul Irving said...

Maybe this is the wake up call this team needs. Let's do it for the Captain and play with a purpose dammit! Let's see the Captain jumping out the dugout on crutches to celebrate #28!

Teena/Bronx said...

Jeters injury is a disaster, but we do have a game this afternoon. Win it for the Captain, the leader, the best player in baseball for two decades.

Eddie OConnor said...

Kuroda pitchin on short rest today in what is very likely a must win game fot the Yankees. We will see how the guys respond to Jeters injuty.

Al Ashton said...

It ain't over and Jeter won't let it be over. He will lead from the bench.

William Mensom said...

Will Girardi keep playing the black hole Afraud or will he bench him for good and the good of the team.

Victor Gandozi said...

Sometimes things turn on a dime. If Jeters bad break can be the catalyst to awaken the dead bats, all may not be lost, and if the team fights back it would honor Jeter.

will-i-am said...

Must win today in my opinion.

Gena A said...

Looking ahead to next year. The WIN METHOD nucleus. Jeter, Rivera, Pettitte, CC. Add Cano, Tex, Ichiro, that's seven.
First, lets take care of business today.

Frank Sergi said...

It's never over till it's over as a great Yankee has said.

jimbo said...

Thanks for a great season Derek! It was a pleasure to watch.

Noscore after six. Kuroda has been spectacular allowing just one single. Yankee bats have been sad.

johnsondc said...

0-0 after 6.

Giambino said...

Tigers score one in the seventh as Cano can't turn easy DP.

Stan the Man said...

Afraud leads off the Yankee 7th and doesn't stirke out. Flies out to medium left field. Granderson doesn't strike out either and walks. Swisher however does strike out for the second out. Granderso does steal second. Nix up and strikes out.

Steve said...

1-0 Tigers afte 7.

Deb F said...

The Yankee team looks like they have what life they had sucked out of them.

KevMac said...

Another umpire bad call gives the Tigers another run in the eighth.

We get shut out and we go to Detroit to face the Tigers better pitchers.

RLA said...

Not trying to be nebative. But Jeter is so great, without him we are done.

William Mensom said...

A day off to travel to the lions den full of Tigers.

Sharon/NC said...

Jeter coming to North Carolina to see a specialist regarding his ankle.

RLA said...

Only one player over the past 20 years has meant the most and more to his team than any other. And that is Derek Jeter. Take care, guy, and good luck.

Benny Pake said...

Can Jeter play with his ankle in a cast and on crutches. That is the only way we can win.

Lou Lis said...

Jeter on crutches is better defensively than most shortstops.

bigbadwolf said...

We just have to beat Verlander tonight. CC wins tomorrow and the series is tied.

RLA said...

Hughes goes for us today and has a big chore in store for him to beat the Tigers tonight.

Sean Smith said...

If Hughes can win tonight and CC goes and wins tomorrow that would make for a very interesting final three games. IF

Tom Loughlin said...

Come on guys. Show some pride and win tonight. Beat their ace.

Paul Hirschman said...

Jeter can't play forever. Sometime you guys will have to put up or shutup.

Chen Cho said...

Don't disgrace yourselves guys, Afraud does that on his own. Play hard and give it your all.

Steve said...

Afraud bench again tonight. Good job Joe G.

johnsondc said...

The Yankees have to find a way to get Afraud out of a Yankee uniform for the future.

Stan the Man said...

Just about game time.

Steve said...

0-0 after 2.

johnsondc said...

Yanks down 1-0 after 4. Hughes injured in 4th and out of game.

George W said...

Yanks down 2-0 after 6. Hughes out with back problem.

Eddie OConnor said...

Yanks down 2-0 after 8. Only 2 hits for Yanks in 8 innings, both by Ichiro,

Allie Singh said...

The Yankees went down 2-1 last night. Phil Hughes went down with a back issue. But the Yankees stay in the game to their final at bat and final out with a chance to win.

Ravi Maragh said...

CC goes today to avoid the sweep.

Lou Lis said...

CC wins tonight and then Pettitte tomorrow, you never know, stranger things have happened.

To Loughlin said...

Go CC.

will-i-am said...

CC may have to pitch a shutout to earn the win.

KevMac said...

Come on guys win a few games and scare them.

Sharon/NC said...

Jeter having surgery in Charlotte,NC this Saturday.

jimbo said...

October surprise. Yanks win next four.

Stan the Man said...

Rain delay.

bigbadwolf said...

Tonights game rained out.

Bert Jackson said...

All we can do is try again today.

johnsondc said...

Could it finally be true. The Yankees are trying to get rid of the cancer Afraud. The cheater who cheated baseball for his own glory. His glory is only that of a cheater of baseball and his family. Afraud is a cancer that must be cut out and removed from the Yankee organization. Afraud has no records in baseball, no player who cheated the game has any records. He is a defrocked embarrassment to MLB.

Victor Gandozi said...

The raster Afraud goes the better. Then the wound healing can occur.

Hank B said...

Don't let the door hit you on the way out Afraud.

Chen Cho said...

Lets go guys. Get the win today.

Tigers out front 1-0 after one.

will-i-am said...

Yanks down 2-0 after 3. CC not sharp.

YankeeMike said...

CC gets pounded in the 4th and leaves with two out trailing 6-0. Jeter going down has taken the heart and sould from the Yankees and left the cancer which must be cut out soon.

AAA said...

Yanks down 6-0 after 5. Nunez leads off 6th with Yanks first hit of game.

Deb F said...

Wait till next year.

Stan the Man said...

It's over. Tigers win 8-1. Afraud goes out doing what he does, nothing. In the only inning the Yankees scored and had life, Afraud pinched hit and with two men on popped up to left and finished his Yankee career with a weak ground out in the ninth. Good riddance Afraud.
