WIN METHOD SUCCESS

The WIN METHOD has just completed its 15th year of operation. As a player evaluation tool, the WIN METHOD is second to none. The WIN METHODs record of success is unparalleled over these past 15 years. 15 seasons, 14 times reaching the playoffs, 7 pennants and 5 WORLD SERIES championships. No other team is even in the ballpark in attaining this record of success and achievement.
Since this blog was started, you the YANKEE fans, the greatest fans in the world, have been posting and reading and learning from this site. Your support is second to none and you guys and gals make the baseball talk forums look like morgues. particularly when it comes to wisdom, insight and baseball knowledge. Thank you all.
The WIN METHOD will be working this off season to improve our great YANKEE team in an attempt to begin the second decade of the 21st century with another playoff, pennant, and WORLD SERIES team. Our goal is to win it all in 2010.
Hope you all enjoyed the parade through the Canyon of Heroes and the ceremonies at City Hall in New York. I went to Tampa to visit Mr.S. and we watched the event together on television. Thank you Mr.S for what you have done for the YANKEE team, your unwavering support of the WIN METHOD, giving the YANKEE fans the grandest new baseball park in the world, and your unending desire to WIN.
Touching on this past season, the playoffs, and the World Series. What a season from manager Joe Girardi and his staff who seemed to push all the right buttons while being above the ignorant second guessing from the sports media. The impeccable handling of the pitching staff, the building of camaraderie on the team, and the winning attitude you have shown. And how about the CORE FOUR, Captain Derek Jeter, Andy Pettitte, Mariano Rivera, and Jorge Posada. All the best at their respective position over the past 15 years in baseball. All original WIN METHOD evaluated and selected players and all possible future Hall of Famers.
YANKEE fans, basque in the glory of your team, keep supporting your team, and keep coming back to this blog. I will try to keep you all abreast of any significant happenings whenever possible.

What a great blog entry. Thank you WIN METHOD, Mr. Steinbrenner, the Yankee team and all Yankee fans.

johnsondc said...

Great stuff WIN METHOD. Hey fans, to pass the off season, why don't we post some fantastic, interesting, amazing information regarding Ynakee players or teams. Achievements, feats, oddities, or anything you guys find interesting.

Dennis G said...

Here's one. David Cones perfect game on 7/18/99 was the first no-hitter in regular season inter-league play.

Dean Koontz said...

Great post WIN METHOD. Go get them this off season. I like the your idea johnsondc. I'll see if I can find something.

sid greenberg/nyc said...

In 1930 the Yankees were the first team to use a phone from the dugout to the bullpen.

Giambino said...

Nice blog WIN METHOD. Here's another note. Mickey Mantle was the first major league baseball player to hit a home run in Houstons Astrodome.

WIN METHOD said...

I've got some great Derek Jeter ones that I will post one at a time. In the history of baseball Derek Jeter has the highest WORLD SERIES batting average of all right hand batters against left hand pitching. Over .400/ Just think of all the right hand batters in the history of the game.

Tony P said...

Jeter is simply amazing. Anyone who knocks him is an utter fool. And there are some. Here's one. Derek Jeter is the first Yankee to win the MLB All-Star game MVP award.

Walter Hammond said...

Great stuff guys, but I miss the dumb stat frauds.

Benny Pke said...

Walter, don't jinx us. Just say NO to stat frauds.

Corey said...

Andy Pettitte had the most wins as a Yankee pitcher in the decade of the 1990's with 81.

YankeeForever said...

Joe DiMaggio was the first player in MLB to hit 3 HRs in a game in 3 different decades.

Franky Sergi said...

And WIN METHOD picked the Yankees in six games. He knows his baseball. 2010 will come quickly.

Steve said...

Derek Jeter has won his fourth Gold Glove at shortstop, joining New York Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira among the American League players honored for fielding excellence.
WOW! At his age Jeter the best defensive shortstop in the game. With Tex the best defensive first baseman in the game. Four Gold Gloves for Jeter who is also the best player in baseball.

William Mensom said...

Speaking of Jeter. When Ozzie Guillen was commentating on FOX during the World Series he referenced Jeter as "God" a couple of times. Referring to Jeter as the best in baseball.

Larry N said...

Best blog regarding baseball I've ever come across.

Gaimbino said...

To anyone...what position is our ned for 2010?

YankeeMike said...

If Damon and Matsui are resigned, probably no position spot. then I would think starting pitcher.

bigbadwolf said...

Without doubt, Jeter is the best defensive shortstop in baseball. He makes plays others only dream about. And he makes the plays on the biggest stage with the brightest lights in the most prolific situations. Anyone who thinks otherwise must be on some half arse baseball forums.

Tony P said...

I second that bigbadwolf. Jeter over his career has definitely been the best defensive shortstop in baseball.
Here's a fact. Roger Clemmons got his 300th win and 4000th strikeout in the same game.

Ricky Moore said...

Jeter rules, anyone who does not think so is a fool.

sid greenberg/nyc said...

Jeter and Tex win the Silver Slugger awards, but it can't be. According to the talk forums, they suck. What utter imbeciles on the talk forums. Thank God, we have people who know baseball here.

Vincent Gandozzi said...

I love the information I get on this blogsite. I get info before my friends, it is always accurate, and the postings are so positive. Being a Yankee fan, I hate going to forums or sites where there are so many Yankee haters and negative posts. The worst part being, all those posters know little to nothing and are mostly jerks.

Sharon/NC said...

Yes, great blog. Yankee Bob Meusel is the only player in World Series history to steal home twice.

Corey said...

Great Yankee historic info. Good way to pass the off season. Love the WIN METHOD and common sense.

Bill Hamilton said...

We won the World Series, and the Yankee haters are coming out of the woodwork, like the roaches they are.
Choo choo.

Giambino said...

Jeter is a star no matter what endeavor he undertakes. That's why stat frauds hate him. he makes them look like fools they are.

Tony P said...

2002-2003-2004, three seasons in a row was the only time in Yankee history the team won 100 games each year.

bigbadwolf said...

Just a reminder WIN METHOD fans...any and all defensive statistics relating to range are 100% meaningless and represent nothing but ignorance by the developers and users of such.

Steve said...

Don't worry bigbadwolf, I don't think anyone who follows this blog is so stupid as to use defensive stats or even meaningless individual stats. They are left to the out in the cold stat frauds who know little to nothing about baseball.

Pat Piper said...

It's nice waking up each day being a fan of the WORLD CHAMPION baseball team.

Carl Hooks said...

Great evaluation tool. Winning does make you the best. The WIN METHODs results are amazing.

Warren hammond said...

i would think that we may be looking for a starting pitcher or an outfielder if we do not resign Matsui.

johnsondc said...

Whoever we get, it will be the right call by WIN METHOD. Yankees 28 in 10.

johnny said...

i love the yankees

Stan Muzsinski said...

When anyone uses the WIN METHOD to evaluate players or teams, it is always cut and dry who is best and why.
When the stat frauds use their convoluted screwed up stats, they always have to make up excuses as to why their phony stars lose so much.

sid greenberg/nyc said...

When you see all these post season individual awards handed out, you can visualize just how little in general, many fans, writers, sportscasters, etc know about baseball and just who the best players are.

Dean Koontz said...

Again in 10 can be our rally chant.

Sharon/NC said...

Yankee fans, here is a good one and a first. Derek Jeter, the best defensive shortstop in baseball and the best player in baseball over the past 15 years, with his leading the Yankees to a World Series Championship this past season, has become the oldest starting shortstop to win a WS in the history of baseball. Deej does it again. Pure gold.

Sid Lovitz said...

It is hard to believe so many stat fraud fools continue to demean Jeter.
It must be the dumbing down of America.

William Mensom said...

There is one question I always ask the stat users..why is the winner not the best? They then go into their BS speak and prove themselves to be fools.

johnsondc said...

It will be interesting to see who the Yankees sign if anyone this off season. I know WIN METHOD is out there talking with all the FAs. WIN METHOD always comes up with something great.

Steve said...

William...johnsondc...I second each of your opinions.

Dean Koontz said...

Mauer got voted AL MVP, but Jeter and Tex won the WS and are the real MVPs. Helping your team and winning the WS is what baseball is played for. The MVP is only an individual statistical piece of data that leaves on empty.

Tim H said...

Yes! 28 in 10. I would get Lackey and no one else. I think that would guarantee the pennant and another WS.

Dominic said...

Haha. the stat guys won mvps.

YankeeMike said...

domenic...let me see if I got this right. You think winning an MVP award is more important than winning a World Series?

Ted Lyles said...

Winning is why the game is played and all that counts. The best players win the most and advance through the playoffs the most. They win World Series.

bigbadwolf said...

Sorry duminic, the stat guys had to watch the WS on TV. The best guys were in the WS playing.

Paul H said...

The first season the Yankees won 100 games was the 1927 season.

WIN METHOD said...

HAPPY THANKSGIVING YANKEE FANS. We have much to be thankful for this season. I just got home and will be home until Monday when it is on the road again. Been to three continents and have talked to hundreds of players looking for the right WIN METHOD guys to help the YANKEES to ever more successes. Celebrate the holiday, fans, with friends and family and get ready to play for 28 in 10.

johnsondc said...

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. To all 28 in 10.

Erica Nuyens said...

Happy Thanksgiving WIN METHOD and everyone. Love ya. 28 1n 10.

sid greenberg/nyc said...

Shalom all. Celebrate and educate all on the WIN METHOD. 28 in 10.

Yankeeforever said...

Don't eat too much fans. Enjoy. Thanks WIN METHOD.

Willaim Mensom said...

Keep up the great work WIN METHOD. Get us on a big time win streak of success. Happy Thanksgiving.

Harry Stavris said...

We don't hear anything from you domenick.. Your mvp stat players didn't reach nor win the WS. Guess they aren't as good as you and your fantasy wastes think they are.

bigbadwolf said...

dominic the stat fraud has been done in. There is now way on this Gods Earth that a person can defend losing as being better than winning. But Heaven knows some of the fools do, and to this day believe losing is better than winning. Thank God for the WIN METHOD.

Sharon/NC said...

WIN METHOD fans should check out some of the baseball talk forums and read the imbeciles talking about trades, who should go or stay, what FAs to sign, etc. They take BS stats and live by them to play in their fantasy leagues. None of them know baseball and they are all fools. We all should be very thankful we have the WIN METHOD.

Benny Pake said...

Stat frauds are all losers.

Victor Gandozzi said...

If WIN METHODs evaluation process is anywhere near last seasons, look for a blockbuster signing.

Linda Pardo said...

That would be fantastic Victor. 28 in 10.

Yankeeforever said...

If WIN METHOD comes up with one of the top pitchers, that would pretty much make 28 in 10 a sure thing.

johnny said...

go yankees

Giambino said...

I agree Yankeeforever. But we still may have plenty of pitching with either Hughes, Kennedy, Wang or Chamberlain. Any or all of which could develop into top notch starters. And don't forget WIN METHODs sleeper which no one in the world talks or probably even knows about Adam Warren who may start season in AA. He could be really big time. WIN METHOD seems to know where to find them.

johnsondc said...

Remember WIN METHOD fans. Just because a player is WIN METHOD, if said player must be traded for, a trade may not be in the best interests of the Yankees and the player may get passed over. The best bets are FAs and drafts.

Stan Musinski said...

WIN METHOD rules, all others are fools.

bigbadwolf said...

Derek Jeter has been named Sports Illustrated sportsman of the year. On the article, Jeter was referred to as the greatest shortstop in the history of baseball. Something all of here at WIN METHOD already knew. WIN METHODs greatest selection.

Eddie OConnor said...

Jeter and Mo are probably the only two players in the past 20 yers than can be even mentioned as all time greats of baseball.

Bill Owens said...

Agree Eddie. Jeter to be interviewed by Gretchen Carlson of Fox News today, which will be aired tomorrow morning. Jeter is one of a kind and only the Yankees have him.

Pat Piper said...

Jeter is the best ballplayer I have ever seen, and I've seen them all in the past 25 years.

Sid Lovitz said...

Halladay gave the Blue Jays a trade ultimatum which significantly reduces what the Jays can expect for him.

YankeeMike said...

The baseball talk forums crybabies must really be reeling with all the awards and accolades Jeter keeps getting. Best defensive shortstop in baseball, sportsman of the year, top three in MVP, but the biggest and best of all, World Series Champion, for the fifth time.

Warren Hammond said...

I also like the way all the baseball talk idiots say who should be let go, who should be obtained, who should play where, who is too old or too young and on and on. They use their stat garbage and look like fools. The truth is, they know nothing.

Bill Boothe said...

The SI guy is probably right. Jeter is probably the best shortstop that ever played MLB. Particularly defensively. He has no parallel.

Diane Stahl said...

You got it Bill. Jeter is a rare bird. Totally committed to WIN METHOD. And winning defines the best, not BS individual stats.

Al McKay said...

I finally found a Yankee site that is so positive and supported by fans who know baseball. I'm here for good.

johnsondc said...

Welcome Al. You will get nothing but knowledgeable baseball fans and talk here. Everyone once in a while we get a stat head, but they are quickly beaten down with winning and logic. They can never get by wins with their fools individual stats.

Ted L said...

Rumor has it we are getting Halladay. The strength of the pitching staff would then allow for a small loss of offense.

Teena/Bronx said...

When talking about Jeter, it can be said he is a World class athlete in his profession. He is the best of the best at what he does and has no peer.

Steve said...

I think one good starting pitcher is all we need to add. Several of our young talent is developing and any one or two may just explode on the scene and give us even more than expected. Things are looking great for 28 in 10.

Dennis G said...

Great observations Steve. I agree whole heartedly.

bigbadwolf said...

Did anyone else see a post by the extreme idiot dominic who feels the Yankees should obtain Mike Cameron. If dominic had the brains to be a WIN METHOD devotee, he would know that Cameron is not WIN METHOD and has NO chance of being a Yankee. Plus he is a loser.

Stan Muzinski said...

""""plus he is a loser""" dominic or Cameron. rofol

bigbadwolf said...

Both Stan. dominic is one hell of a statfraud. His views are just that, his views, and are completely useless.

Dan said...

I think the team has been making some very wise decisions so far regarding arbitration and such. It puts more pressure on the players than on the team.

Teena/Bronx said...

Tiger Woods goes down for the count. Now that leaves only Derek Jeter as the untarnished icon of all sports. Hail the great one, the best player in baseball and the true role model.

Cindy said...

Right on Teena. I adore Jeets.

WIN METHOD said...

A quick piece of good news WIN METHOD fans. Andy Pettitte will definitely resign with the YANKEES for the 2010 season. That is a big step for 28 in 10.

Tim H said...

Great news WIN METHOD. Andy has been super for the YANKEES. I am glad he is coming back and the Yankees are keeping him.

JimmyThames said...

Great news re Andy. He is truly WIN METHOD and may be the beast lefty in baseball over the past 15 years.

Erica Nuyens said...

Again WIN METHOD announces an upcoming signing before anyone else. Thank you.

johnsondc said...

Erica, that's why we keep coming to the WIN METHOD blog. Good honest up to date Yankee news and conversation without the BS.

Nick D said...

If we can get Halladay or Lackey, provided either is WIN METHOD, it will not make any difference what any team gets or does. It would almost insure 28 in 10. With Jeter leading the team, we would be very solid.

YankeeForever said...

In just over two months, the pitchers and catchers report. Can't wait. Lets go Yankees. the Yankees winnnnnnnnnnnnnn.

Steve said...

The Yankees have finalized a three team trade. The Yankees will be getting Curtis Granderson who will start in centerfield. The Yankees have traded away Ian Kennedy, Austin Jackson, and Phil Coke. We got an everyday WIN METHOD staring OFer for almost nothing.

bigbadwolf said...

Well it's final Andy Pettittte signed with the Yankees today. Win Method stated that two days ago. Again WIN METHOD beats out everyone with the breaking news.

Willaim Mensom said...

The team is coming together very nicely. Another move or two and 28 in 10 should become reality.

sid greenberg/nyc said...

Yes folks... 28 in 10.

Giambino said...

So far so good this off season. I have a hunch there is going to be a golden egg in WIN METHODs basket for us.

Sid Lovitz said...

Merry Christmas Yankee fans, I'll be out of the country for the holiday season. Bring home the bacon WIN METHOD. 28 in 10.

YankeeMike said...

I like this 28 in 10. I';;start spreading the news. 28 in 10.

Warren Hammond said...

All the competition is scratching and clawing to try to get better, while the Yankees just do it with the WIN METHOD. 28 in 10.

Shane W said...

May the Lord be with all Yankee fans this Christmas season and let the year 2010 bring number 28.

Corey said...

Is it spring yet? I miss baseball season. 28 in 10.

bigbadwolf said...

I still and probably always will, get a kick out of reading the stat frauds on the talk forums bandying about names of players who the Yankees should or get or get rid of. All the while they have absolutely no idea who are WIN METHOD players or who aren't. Some of the names they throw around have absolutely, positively been eliminated by WIN METHOD and the Yankees will no way even consider them. I guess they keep themselves busy with ever espousing ignorance.

Steve said...

WIN METHOD rules, all others are fools.

Carl J said...

Merry Christmas Sid, have a great trip and holiday.

Lou Grandozi said...

It looks like the Yankees may lose Wang,(to LA), that would help allow Chamberlain and or Hughes to earn a starting spot in the rotation.

Phil H said...

We won without Wang last year. If he ever can come back to what he was in his 19 win seasons, he would be a boom for someone.

Steve said...

Things are looking good in Yankeeland. Halladay and Lackey are not Yankees and we still remain pretty much intact as a team and slightly better with Granderson in the OF.

William Mensom said...

The Yankees surely have helped continue their solid team chemistry by bypassing Halladay and Lackey. I feel there is still one more piece lurking out there.

Steven Sands said...

Granderson more than makes up for the production loss of Matsui. Plus he can play his position and run the bases with far more superiority.

Ben Pake said...

Didn't I read that WIN METHOD said Mike Cameron was not WIN METHOD and would never be a Yankee. So Cameron the loser signs with the bosux. Love it.

bigbadwolf said...

Yes, WIN METHOD has told the world Cameron was not WIN METHOD, and would never be a Yankee. Only the stat frauds want him, God only knows why, he is a loser.

Giambino said...

Cameron has always sucked and helps no team. I love when he is up against us in a big situation. K

Diane Stahl said...

I wonder who WIN METHOD will surprise us with. I love the pass on Lackey and Halladay, we have better in CC and AJ.

bigbadwolf said...

Merry Christmas WIN METHOD fans. Love you all, your wit, baseball intelligence, the ripping of the stat frauds, and love of team.

Looks like we'll be getting anywhere from ont to two feet of snow this weekend. Merry Christmas everyone.

I think so too William. Hope it's a real good one that fits the teams chemistry. 28 in 10.

How about your 789 hitters hitting 80+ HRs. Your 456 hitters hitting 80+ HRs and your 123 hitters hitting 75+ HRs. WOW! 28 in 10

I want to wish all YANKEE and all WIN METHOD fans a very Merry Christmas and a joyful, happy, and healthy New Year. Let our team reach its goal of 28 in 10, the phrase started here by a brilliant poster. One bit of information Matt Holiday is not WIN METHOD has has absolutely no chance of being a YANKEE. WIN METHOD fans can continue to laugh at the stat frauds, the number geeks and general talking head sports casters and writers who keep mentioning him as a YANKEE.
Fans, thank you for your posts and your continued never ending support for this blog, what many of you have called the most knowledgeable baseball site in the world. All I can say is thank you and how right you are.

WIN METHOD said...

I had this over two weeks ago and forgot to pass it along. The YANKEES have told Chien-Ming Wang that before he signs with any other team, to see them before he does.
Likely, the YANKEES will match any sensible offer, in order to keep Wang.

William Mensom said...

Wow! It would be fantastic to have Wang in the wings to recover without pressure and possibly become a viable option down the road.

Bill H said...

Wang was the best pitcher in baseball over his two 19 win seasons. If he comes back to that form the Yankees would be awesome squared.

bigbadwolf said...

Awesome squared, that is great.

Teena/Bronx said...

I hope we can keep Wang. I always like him.

Bob Behan said...

I can't wait for the season to start.

Steve said...

Still likely that one more piece may finish the puzzle?

sid greenberg/nyc said...

That piece would most likely be a left fielder. But I have no problem with Gardner playing left. Big help defensively, although Damon if he returns, has the bat.

YankeeMike said...

Only time will tell, what will be will be.

Corey said...

The competition for the final spots in the rotation should make for a very competitive and intriguing spring training.

bigbadwolf said...

True. should be a good spring. Granderson was a participant in a Yankee charity event over the holidays. We may have another WIN METHOD gem.

Alan Hayes said...

Nice job. A real baseball blog, and the best yet, a Yankee blog. Without the BS.

Six World Series rings surely ranks Jeter among the elite of all time. He would be my first choice to start a team right now.

bigbadwolf said...

Don't drink and drive Yankee fans. don't want to lose anyone because they did something stupid. We'll leave that to that stat frauds.

The stat frauds have to be drunk if they believe an individual stat for a player is more important than winning. But then again, they will always blame his team mates.

WIN METHOD said...
